I see him sharing a lot of traits with Dustin, but he's also a bit like Lucas too in this AU (He's more of the sporty one, and his GF, Bebe appears in S2 taking the place of Max). ° 011 - AKA: "Tweek" (Later: Tweek Marsh) - 12 - Mage - Superpowered Lab Rat Same kind of origin, stripped away from his mother and placed inside South Park Lab. After escaping he's found by the boys and ends up staying at Craig's house. He has the 011 tattoo on his wrist, but instead of being given the name "El", Craig gives him the name "Tweek" because of his fidgety moments (I see him being spazzy in this AU from the stress he felt from the lab, rather than the drug-induced coffee).

Then, we got the Kerns, which replaces the Byers. Seeing that Sharon has multiple last names in SP, I chose Kern 'cause it sounded better than the others.

° Jimmy Valmer Kern - 12 - Bard - Youngest Child - "Ride or Die" Comedy until he's very last breath. May or may not have punched Vecna in the face while in the upside down. I unfortunately have to make our poor boy Jimmy as Will. I promise he won't be as neglected once he returns like his ST counterpart. He's D&D character is a bard like in TSoT, and for now, I have no romance planned for him. Just good old family love.

° Sharon Kern - 40s - Single Mother - Will do anything for her children. I thought she was the perfect choice for Joyce after seeing the "Spooky Fish" episode. Sharon literally was burying bodies for her son Stan, and making sure he wouldn't end up in jail (For something he didn't do). I could definitely see this woman communicating with X-Mas lights to find her son. ° Older! Stanley Kern - 16 - Oldest Child - Excellent Photographer - Can actually talk to girls without vomiting. And yes, we're getting Blond Stan in this AU because I said so. I made him Jonathan in this AU after deciding who was going to be playing Nancy. Stan's kind of an outcast until he meets Wendy, who's trying to look for his lost friend, while he looks for his brother. Together, with their determination combined, they'll make anything work.

° Older! Wendy Testaburger Tucker - 16 - Older Child - Total Badass in the second half of the 1st season. Typical sibling love-hate relationship w/Craig. After realizing her friend has gone missing under mysterious circumstances, typical "All-American" girl Wendy transforms into someone better, as she will do anything to find out what happened. She teams up with Stan... giving her boyfriend the wrong idea (Not spoiling who the BF is just yet). ° Randy Marsh - 40s - Town Sheriff - Has the hots for local single mother, Sharon (If it isn't obvious). Randy, just like Hopper, in this AU had an ex-wife and a daughter who passed (Sorry, Shelley). He lives a sad life of donuts and alcohol, until the search for Jimmy sparks something inside of him, and spirals his life into the supernatural forces caused by the lab. He eventually has to get Sharon involved to solve this crime. ° Dr. Alphonse Mephesto - 50s - Genetic Engineer/Crazed Local Scientist - "Papa" to a lot of children that ain't even his (I mean, he named his kids after numbers. Can we call CPS now?). I didn't know who else to pick, but for some reason Mephesto might actually be a good choice for Brenner. You'll learn more about him later on.

your relationship with no-eul was a first for both of you. you both never experienced dating someone before each other, however, every moment was shared with such care for each other, it all fell into place just right. a balance of lowkey late night dates at no-eul's place and sucking off each other's faces in the hallways of yeolum high.

so when your first quarrel with no-eul turned into a full blown heated argument with no-eul breaking up with you in the rush of adrenaline, your heart breaks into a million pieces.

"gosh, no-eul! i told you to wear those slacks i bought you..! not those.. awful jeans." you complained, fixing up the collar of her shirt.

"it's a house party. not a high-end charity event." no-eul deadpanned with an exasperated look in her eyes, her hands swatted yours away.

you stared her down, placing your hands on your hips, "don't you dare push me away. this is for your own good."

she rolled her eyes, stuffing her hands inside the pocket of her washed out baggy jeans, "you're just doing this to impress your friends, i'll be fine. i don't need to fit in with your crowd."

"but, babe! my friends are yours and yours are mines! now, what would my friends say?" your constant whines filled the room, no-eul's head overloaded with bottled up frustration, she finally snapped.

"listen. i don't fucking care what your friends think of me, i'm content with my own crowd of people. you're being ridiculous, if you can't accept me as i am, then we're not meant for each other."

"w-what?.. no-eul, are you.." your face paled at her stern tone, no-eul had never yelled at you like that, a haunted expression plastered across your face before you bursted into tears, running through the front door and into the quiet night.

you drowned out the sound of no-eul's pleas for you to come back, the sole of your loafers pattered on the wet pavement.

once you got home you instantly facetimed your friend group, wailing into your silk pillows.

"how could she?"

"i told you she wasn't the one!"

"you shouldn't've hung out with her in the first place, look at you now!"

for a while, you believed them. that's why you didn't answer her texts nor her calls. that's why you ignored her in the hallways, even refused to meet her gaze, and no-eul despised it.

and for a second, you both thought you could instantly remove each other from your lives.

but oh, was it agonizing.

to no-eul, every single thing in this world reminded her of you. she'd point out items to her friends, gushing about how you would love to either wear or eat them.

"that poodle reminds me of her."

"(name) wears that brand of clothes all the time."

"..she would love those chocolate covered strawberries."

"don't you guys think the clouds are shaped like (name)?"

..and no-eul's friend group quickly caught on the fact she was not over you.

no-eul took a long drag of her fresh cigarette, placing the bud between her lonely, chapped lips as she leaned back on the brick wall of the study hall building, "do you think she still thinks of me?"

her friends groaned, tired of the same question repeated for weeks.

se-mi was first to speak up, she tossed her own used cigarette away, stomping it on the ground, "i don't know.. why don't you just.. talk to her? we lost her too when you broke up with her you know. it's a lose lose situation!"

"i know i'm stating the obvious, eul. you clearly miss her. you miss putting up with her bullshit, her whiny attitude, her constant nagging." ji-yeong crossed her legs, sitting on the bench across the them with sae-byeok just nodding along.

all no-eul could do was slide down the wall and stretch out her legs on the moist dirt, twirling the lit up cigarette in between her fingers.

you're not that great at hiding your true feelings too!

occasionally, when the first lunch break bell rings, you'd take the long way to the cafeteria just to pass by her classroom and get a glimpse of no-eul, in her own bubble.

you'd gaze at her jotting down notes and snickering at whatever se-mi joked about for a second longer before your friends round up beside you, peeking curiously.

"what're you doing?.." na-yeon nudged your elbow, cocking an eyebrow up suspiciously as you whipped your head around in shock.

you giggled nervously, fidgeting with the tip of your nails, "o-oh, nothing.. let's go."

unbeknownst to you, no-eul watched you leave over her shoulder. her lips pursed, as if she was contemplating something.

another awkward moment between the both of you was when you were running home in the pouring rain from your after school course. you had missed the last bus by a second, you couldn't even order an uber because your phone had died in the middle of the lesson! unfortunately, the only source of shelter from the rain nearby was the convenience store no-eul worked at.

no-eul was scrolling through her phone when she heard the entrance bell jingle. she mumbled a soft "welcome", still engrossed in her doom scrolling session, her eyes fixated on the screen. she jolted back to reality when you firmly placed a cheap power bank and cable set on the register, crossing your arms and shivering subtly.

no-eul's eyes widened, she struggled to speak, "you.."

"just these please." your tone left no room for small talk, refusing to meet her gaze.

the taller girl's body stiffened, her eyes went back to being distant, though they were still on you as she scanned your items.

she watched your freezing, trembling hands tap the edge of your phone on the scanner, paying for your items. as you turned to leave, she cleared her throat.

"you're not going home in the rain."

"huh?"

no-eul sighed deeply, rolling her eyes as she retrieved her coat and keys behind the counter, "let's go."

you stood there in shock, your face scrunched up in annoyance and amusement.

but you couldn't refuse, right? what else could you do?

that night, you were curled up on the passenger seat of no-eul's rental car. her coat swung over your shoulder, the spicy and musky scent of her perfume stuck to the fabric like glue, you can't help but bury your nose on the fur.

the tension was palpable inside the car, the soft hum of the engine, the radio's volume being set on a low setting. you've been in no-eul's car multiple times before, but it had been too long since moments like these happened and the nostalgia hit you like a brick, you almost ended up crying for her to take you back.

no-eul wasn't all normal about this either, her knuckles turned white as she gripped on the leather steering wheel. her mind reeled with doubtful thoughts, wondering if you'd freak out if she tries to get close or if she spoke up.

a few minutes later, your house came into view, the golden lights of your front porch lit up the gloomy night. without a word, no-eul unlocked the door for you, shuddering as the cold breeze hit your skin.

you stood awkwardly infront of her rolled down window, she stared deeply into your eyes, as if she was trying to claw out the words she wanted to hear.

"thank you.." you squeaked out, shrugging her coat off your shoulders and bringing it out for her to withdraw.

"just give it back to me at school." the raven haired girl shrugged with a stupid, small smirk on her face, knowing she only said that just so she could see you up close again tomorrow.

you were about to talk back when your front door opened, your mom calling out for you to come in for dinner. you shut your eyes, grimacing at the tricky situation.

no-eul left with a nod, her black sedan pulling out from your front steps and into the night. you stood there with unresolved feelings, wrapping her coat tighter around you as you entered your house.

it didn't end there.. but it did took a turn at the end of semester social gathering.

you sauntered around with your friends at the country club, fluttering around like the social butterfly you are while sipping on mediocre fruit punch.

time froze when you saw no-eul walking in with her group in her stupidly gorgeous but laid back outfit, her plaid jacket, black tank top and those damned jeans you both fought over.

however, out of the ordinary, a pretty girl you recognized from your grade, baek soo-in, was wrapped around her arm, smiling and giggling as no-eul brought her to the potluck table with a soft smile.

you felt your heart chip away slowly at the sight of her with another girl. you thought it was over, that she was moving on. your chest ached seeing se-mi, ji-yeong and sae-byeok, who were once your closest friends thanks to no-eul, chatting up and entertaining the girl, chuckling and snickering amongst themselves.

but no-eul.. no-eul felt withdrawn from the conversation, sometimes she'd look down at the girl, nodding and letting out a breathy laugh at their shared jokes, but her eyes would travel elsewhere, like she was searching for something, or someone.. you.

your body shook in jealousy, like you were about to burst and throw a tantrum.

that was, until na-yeon whisked you away into the crowded dance floor, jumping up and down.

"i have someone who wanted to meet you!" na-yeon cheered, buzzing with excitement as she dragged a pretty upperclassmen infront of you, a girl who's name you couldn't quite remember, sheepishly grinning and scratching the back of her neck.

you smiled weakly, slipping your hand in hers as she offered you a dance. but there wasn't any warmth to the her touch, your mind went blank as the both of you swayed to the rhythm of the music.

fluttering your eyes shut, you nuzzled against the senior's shoulder, fingers scrunching up her shirt as you imagined it was no-eul herself dancing with you like she used to in the living room of her flat.

you finally felt the warmth you desperately needed spread through your chest, a deep sigh of relief. but once you blinked your eyes back opened, your gaze met no-eul's across the dance floor, who was already staring at you with an unreadable expression on her face. her eyes sharp and gloomy as if she was ready to pounce and claw at somebody.

baek soo-in had her arms wrapped around her neck like a vice. despite whirling her around the dance floor, no-eul held eye contact with you, her eyes softening as time passes by just gouging at each other's eyes for answers.

no-eul couldn't handle the fact that you were in someone else's arms and not hers. the feelings stewed inside of her and her resolve threatened to break when she saw you in that short, white, puffy-sleeved dress. the adorable face she loved and once cherished by peppering kisses all over it was framed by your neatly styled bangs and long braided twintails.

after some time, you felt yourself carefully extracting your swaying body from the senior's arms. no-eul mimicked your sudden move, gently unhooking soo-in's wrist that was linked together at the back of her neck. you both had enough of ignoring each other, enough on not reflecting on your true feelings.

you heard a confused na-yeon shouting through the blaring music for you, but you didn't stop.

instead, you trailed behind no-eul like a lost puppy to the bathroom tucked away at the back of the venue, the odd, artificial lights casting a glow on the both of your faces.

"please.." no-eul breathed out, shaking her head desperately.

"what?" a confused, dazed expression on your face, you knew what was coming, and you were shaking with need.

the taller girl wasted not time and cupped your face with both of her ring-decorated hands, the metal of her jewelry felt cold on your warm, pink-dusted cheeks.

her lips brushed against yours, testing the waters before pulling you into a soft, chaste kiss.

she pulled away slightly to look into your eyes, searching for any signs of uncertainty. once she found nothing but longing in your eyes, she locked her lips with yours into a demanding kiss, the taste of your cherry chapstick filling her senses, making her weak at the knees.

you both poured all the pent up stress of being away from each other into the kiss, your hands exploring everywhere you could reach while no-eul's groped at your plush skin. the sudden taste of no-eul's tongue slipping into the kiss, shutting you up real good, soft whispers of pet names and apologies..

it felt good, felt natural. this was everything you've longed for throughout these miserable, past weeks.

once you both pulled away for some much needed air, no-eul rested her forehead against yours, panting softly, "..please take me back."

"you idiot!" your eyes crinkled in amusement, breaking into a fit of giggles.

Thinking squid game thoughts and throwing theory spaghetti at a wall.

But, I was thinking about 2x01 and how the entire episode has so far been a kind of blueprint for S2. Gi-Hun is Gi-Hun at all times, but the Frontman figure changes here. In 2x01 the Salesman is playing In-Ho's role. He plays games with the homeless people in the park and punishes them for failing. Of course, outside of the actual games it's not lethal, all he does is give them a chance, a choice, and then ruins their food instead of gunning them down (which is now of course, beneath him, since he got that promotion and a suit).

Gi-Hun is hunting him, he's recruited 'soldiers' in his quest. Much like the volunteers he takes with him to hunt the frontman in the actual games. He takes losses both times, with his right hand men being executed.

Gi-Hun then is found (he finds. But mostly he's found) by the salesman who instigates a murder game of his own (one could almost think that gi-hun awoke something in him in S1 with that lighter) and they're both left with a High chance that when they pull that trigger, they will die. But they both give each other an out to this, and say 'you don't Have to do that, so long as you admit that I'm right and you're wrong' (something something voting illusion of choice something something).

Gi-Hun with a 50% chance of shooting himself in the head, pulls the trigger on himself rather than say that he means nothing, that the hundreds of people who're murdered mean nothing, that they're just meaningless horses to bet on. He lives, obviously.

Now it's the salesman's turn, he's left with 100% chance that if he pulls the trigger on himself that he will die. Gi-Hun gives him an out as well, and says that he should just admit that he's as much as a worthless dog as he is. He shoots himself in the head and leaves a stain on the wall that stays there the whole time they're using that set instead.

Anyway, It's interesting because the show Is going into the guards this season through 011, and even introduced her as a fake out making you think that she'd been spotted as a competitor. Her life genuinely makes you believe that she could fall victim to them, she's after money to try and track down her daughter, she has lousy badly paid work as a theme park actor in a heavy faceless suit (and oh, the concept of her always wearing a mask at work be it to make children smile or to slaughter others. Oof.) and lives in her car with a security guard telling her that he'll throw the book at her if she keeps sleeping in the parking lot.

My point being, it IS believable that they'd eye her for a contestant. The difference is, she got headhunted for her ability to kill. A strain of ruthlessness mixed with skill that is not evident in most of the players (though, i could make an argument for Sang-Woo here, but i don't think he's the type of guy who'd have accepted that lowly kind of work, you know? Plus, all the guards we've seen look to be recruited young). We know from the salesman that he thought nothing of what he was doing, from burning to killing to recruiting what he saw as animals. He even openly admits that he murdered his own father as one of the pink guards and that all it did was show him that he was Good at this. Didn't care at all.

If we look at both of these people who were/are pink guards, we have two people who apparently didn't have much else to do, that both needed work, who are also ruthless. Not necessarily in debt, but not people with every advantage (no-eul was starting from zero, apparently the salesman was the son of somebody in deep debt). Salesman moved up in the world and thought it made him big, enough so that he chose to die rather than admit he was just another cog in the machine who meant nothing.

My point being, of course, that they Are the cogs in the machine that Gi-Hun points out (he may fully comprehend this eventually, but in a games setting he seems to have forgotten this).

Anyway, back to the original point, Gi-Hun is waging philosophical war with the salesman and is being tested and prodded and poked by him, and also testing and prodding and poking him back. Which is a small preview to how his relationship with In-Ho has played out in S2 (even if Gi-Hun had no idea that it was happening). The entire episode appears to be the season in short form.

Which brings me to theorizing, because I mentioned before about the difference between the guards and the players, and that the foil to gi-hun's world views in the entire season is In-Ho, because crucially, In-Ho is Not like the other people working there because he was headhunted as a contestant. Not a guard.

The Salesman emotionlessly recounts the tale of the murder of his own father, not even a story of personal defeat over a man he had feelings for, just an emotionless and faceless execution where his father had no idea whose face lay behind the mask. This man couldn't be convinced with anything Gi-hun had to say.

In-Ho, however, shot his brother last season and he did it to save him. He also looked So very traumatized by doing it. This isn't a man with no feelings like the salesman, it's a man who doesn't remember how to actually feel them, or how to extend them to those he doesn't personally care for. Because for every awful thing he's done, he sure does still care about his baby brother (the baby brother whom he would have realistically helped raise as a father figure, his very own estranged child, just like Gi-Hun).

So for all ep1 was a preview of the whole season, I think there will be divergence from here. The crux of the story is of the contrasting world views of Gi-Hun and In-Ho, but unlike the salesman from the season preview episode, In-Ho isn't devoid of human emotion or care and actually Does have the base capacity to change, in my opinion.

I think my controversial take for fandom is that it won't be Gi-Hun that tips the scales for him (if indeed they ever do tip. This could be far less complicated than i'm reading into it and it may just be foreshadowing In-Ho dying futilely instead of admitting he was wrong) because he's Very sensitive about proving Gi-Hun wrong and ego does so much to people, but In-Ho's difference to the Salesman is his love and care for his family, his mirror the little brother, who is so helpfully searching ardently for him the entire season.

The salesman didn't Have an outside figure who he loves to alter his course because he evidently never cared for any of the people in his life before, whereas In-Ho Does. The most open plot thread on the entire show that hasn't even been tackled yet is the brothers, mirror images, so similar yet such different in their outlooks and their reunion will have had an entire season's worth of build up to it.

I think that little difference between In-Ho and the rest of the people involved in the games may be what symbolically 'saves' him. I'm not sure how he'd live through this show, if i'm being honest, but he doesn't have to die the person he is right now, which would be a win for Gi-Hun even if it would hurt. Gi-hun has spent a season unknowingly digging knives into his worldly views, and that will most certainly have had a big effect on him even if right now it has evidently not done a thing to alter his actions, but I do think it could potentially have softened him up enough that his mirror may be able to re-join the narrative and bodily drag him back to a sense of basic humanity.

I am completely clueless as to how any arc between in-ho and gi-hun would culminate, but that's nice. I like to be kept guessing and it's bound to be big.

I think is important to talk about times and timelines when talking about Stranger Things, and of course byler.

The series are going to have a time jump but the way S4 ended was made in a cliffhanger, which means, usually, that the next series take off from there.

Except this is not what happened, because of real time issue; the strikes, COVID, etc.

Why am I mentioning this? Well, because without all this, many arguments against byler or different lore issues wouldn't be arguments at all.

If we had the normal timeline, this issue of the freaking city completely destroyed would be addressed asap.

But betcause of the time jump, that won't happen, maybe we will get a few things, and we know the excuse of Vecna being weak works only so much, a little convenient fact.

The painting is another important point, because "It's been so long, clearly it doesn´t matter as much", except that if the story had followed the expected times and timeline, it was going to be addressed probably sooner.

There is also the fact of the Evil in the stories, S1 was the demogorgon, S2 the mind flyer, S3 the the mindflyer-kinds-monster, russians; but S4 AND S5 is Vecna. For a story that stands on its own feet in each season, this is not the norm.

I know this seems obvious now, but for a lot of people, this is not that clear. S4 and S5 for me are "Stranger Things Final Season Vol. 1 and Vol. 2". Now, why am I saying all this? BECAUSE, we know a lot of things now, we know we are "going back to the start" and... they have been doing that since S4; we saw the start of it all with 001 and 011, we saw how it all came to be, because it was the first part, and now we know that se "second part" will start EXACTLY how S4 started, in a flashback.

I know my english is basically TRASH, because I am at the office and I write like a toddler, but I think you are able to get what I mean.

Many things that didn't seem to make sense with the time jump, make a lot of sense without the time jump.

Basically we are talking about Max in a coma for over a year, she should look completely different.

We are talking about Will ripping off the band-aid, this is the biggest byler problem, because how did he let it go for so long?

Then the mileven issue with they still being together; if we even want byler to be real, how is it possible for them to be together for so long when it seemed like things weren't so cool?

But then, again, the expected time fram was not the one we are getting.

I don't really know about the real timeline of the story, I listened to a lot of Duffer's interviews to find some more information, and the only thing clear is that during development of S4 they knew about how S5 would end, something that didn't happen in earlier seasons because the plan was just that, a plan for later.

Nothing is clear right now because of this massive time jump in both real life and story line, but, if the time jump was smaller we would be with way more doubts, both GA, bylers and even milevens, because everything would have been so much stronger, real even.

But for now, all we have is our theories, our little info and well, hopes and dreams.

MAGSEV S2 UPDATE!

Hey folks!! As of literally maybe 10 minutes ago, I am halfway done writing Season 2! It's a longer season for sure, almost twice the length of S1, (18 episodes as opposed to 10) , which means I am 9 episodes down, 9 to go!

in all seriousness i really don't know when this season is going to be finished? i'm in a rough patch being unemployed and job searching and looking at future uni accomodation / saving for uni etc really burns a guy out! hopefully i'm aiming to get s2 out AT LEAST by the time Protocol s2 starts airing next year (feb i think alex said feel free to correct me)
