Fundamentally, as Roxanne grows into godhood or paving her own way ( more like coming to terms with it ), she is steadily creeping into levels of uncanny valley where she isn't recognized as human, nor is she truly a god. At some point, she ( and her brother! ) will reach a stage where gods are at their most powerful... and this is self-actualization.

There is an added physical attribute to her godly nature in which her eyes will eventually manifest as evil eye charms ( upper right-hand corner image ).

These charms are apotropaic, as the purpose of the evil eye charms is to cast a malevolent, or intimidating, gaze back at those who wish to do harm and especially upon the innocent. Furthermore, what is intrinsically interesting about these charms is that they are a rich, unearthly shade of blue. This stems from the fact that blue eyes are a rare sight in for ancient Mediterranean and Middle Eastern peoples, and it is said that those with blue or light-coloured eyes can cast a curse upon others with a single glance! Needless to say, blue-eyed individuals were very uncanny, which coincides well with how strange and unsettling Roxy's natural eye colour can be. It's more than the resentment and fear of a child who inherited Zeus' eyes, to some, it's an omen.

So what about Roxanne's freaky pretty blue eyes turning into charms? Well, this is her at the peak of her godhood, in which she can kill with a simple look if one stares too long, or repel/intimidate any who wish to do harm. Those eyes can read into the depths of your soul and discern your intentions. It's frightening on top the other attributes of her divine form, which manifest as part of what she is and what she embodies is who she is ⏤ a defender and protector.

Parts of which she formerly shunned are things she's coming to accept as part of her self-actualization / manifestation, thus reflecting the trajectory of her development. At the core, she is simply embodying the truth of who she is by finally accepting herself for what she is, and believing in who she is and what she stands for is enough.

i know i know i said no shipping but speaking of shipping one thing that SENDS me abt Nai is that his ass is CHEWING and SCREECHING in bed. not even in a sexy way hes acting like your 8 year old demon cat at the vet. he keeps pulling knives out of nowhere and you have to dodge them. there's an obstacle course to find the g spot (he restructured his plant organs and its in his ear now). you get near his c|it and he kicks so hard it breaks ur nose. he is fully enjoying himself and having a great time during all of this.

Lol fun fact: for every time somebody tries to hit on Roxy because of her pretty ( freakishly, unnaturally ) blue eyes, she'll always bring up the one time a guy tried to her flirt with her with this line, "Your eyes are the twilight of your sensuality." All of this while waiting in the popcorn line in the sweltering July heat at Canada's Wonderland, where the line up for the bathroom crossed over into the the popcorn line. The memory still makes her laugh, and honestly, nobody could do worse than that if they tried to pull her with a pick up line about her eyes.

Trying to reinvigorate my passion for writing here by saying what I enjoy about Roxy's wit, is that it's not a cutting down, or punching down kind of "sarcastic wit" - it's not the tumblr brand and love of the "sassy characters" who come up with a lukewarm, sneering clapback that people fall head over heels for when they talk back, or are just being assholes for the sake of it. Roxy's witty remarks are often thoughtful, coy, playful and sly. It punches up.

But, when she is genuinely insulting someone with her patented, gritty, vulgar chirps that leave her enemies emotionally and psychologically devastated, it's not plain sass. It is a brass-knuckled, steel-toed, brutal takedown of egos that will make you regret even breathing in her direction. It's borderline Shakespearean vulgarity that rips into the very fibre of your soul. She'll make you feel like you are a walking and breathing embodiment of what it feels like to constantly be taking the L. She'll make you question if starting a beef with her is worth it, it's like you're alive but at what cost?

Reason #473157843 why Roxy is hard to romance/ship with

Most of the time, she won’t actually know if your muse is flirting or being friendly unless they really put it out there. Still, she’d act obtuse and pretend she doesn’t know. Or, she’d over think it, wondering if this person is actually being intentionally flirty because they are genuinely interested in her, or if they are being goofy / playing with her feelings. So, it’s like “Oh jeez... feelings are hard to deal with so maybe if I act like I don’t notice / care maybe this will all go away.”

She’d also have an internal debate over whether if she likes them back or not, given that she genuinely has difficulty differentiating platonic from romantic feelings. To her, those feelings are equally intense, but very different in terms of intimacy. Also, there’s gotta be an actual spark and build up. Welcome to slow burn hell.

laugh with me long and loving

jokes are simple and easy to comprehend, and laughter helps with all that tension in your belly. you just want a break from the other stuff, and if someone makes you laugh, then that means that they care, in some way, about your happiness. especially, if, after making you laugh the once, they try and do it again. if laughter is the greatest medicine, then you can share it and no one has to be sick. it is contagious, and free to give and receive. there is never too much of it. there is never too much of you. i hope when you laugh you speak it from your belly. that you use your muscles and let it fill the room. that you know the sound rings like a bell and is lovely. i hope that when you smile you show your teeth.

💥 - is your muse reckless? or too cautious and paranoid?🔷️ - is your muse good or bad at lying?

Roxanne constantly toes the line between being reckless and overly cautious. She is one to think things through, a little too much at times, but everything she does is within the best interests of others. However, she isn’t too afraid of taking risks and rolling with the punches, but the most reckless thing she tends to do is letting people into her heart. While it’s not necessarily a bad thing, as she has a great propensity to love and care for those she is incredibly amiable with. And even if she doesn’t see eye to eye with some others, she doesn’t render herself callous because of it unless you are an absolute piece of shit. But in short, she loves recklessly and it’s something she’s both okay with and also even wary of!

With Roxanne literally living a double life, she has to be good at lying. For the most part, she doesn’t see the point of lying when it’s unnecessary, or if it has grave consequences. She learned that from her father when he basically hid their true identities from Roxanne and her brother, and the fallout and backfire that occurred as a result of living under incredibly false pretenses was enough to teach her. But when lying comes at an advantage either in a fight or for protecting loved ones, Roxy will be incredibly convincing with her lies. When you know she has a lot on the line, it can be tricky for her adversaries to see whether she is actually telling the truth or not, especially if they know she has a lot at stake. She could either be telling the truth to protect whomever or whatever she’s protecting, or she could be lying to throw them off her trail and protecting someone or something. Thing is, Roxy doesn’t lie often and therefore, it’s quite nerve-wracking when she does.

Honestly, I think one of the things that tie Roxy and Zora together is that element of them being so impartial and accepting of weird shit, or things that most people just cannot really grasp or attain. Both of them walk between worlds and spheres within and outside of their own. They're strange, out of place, disconcerting to others, depending on who meets them. But for some strange reason, the both find that it makes sense for them to be a little weird. They make sense to each other, is another way of putting it.
