@poswiecenia benny boy you're mcbeaned
curiosity is a burden and if not shaken off, said curiosity could become an annoyance to the mind. so, when kaeya keeps seeing a certain adventurer who seems as clueless to his heritage as he once was, the cavalry captain decides to learn what bennett knows of himself.
so, he invites the young adventurer to his office - away from everyone and everything - so the two can privately talk. offering some soft drinks he usually offers klee, the captain leans against the desk and studies bennett, blue eye narrowing inquisitively.
"so, tell me bennett, what do you know about your eyes? i think you've seen mine to know something is akin to your own, no?"

when I played Caribert, I was pretty disappointed about the lack of impact Dain seemed to have on Kaeya, honestly. during Kaeya's hangout, he didn't mention the weird cryptic blond dude who just dropped family lore once, which I thought would have been pretty important?
but in truth, I think Dain actually had a HUGE impact on Kaeya.
we can all know that from Kaeya's personal lore and former events that Kaeya had very conflicted feelings over his duty to Khaenri'ah and his love for Mondstadt, even with his estranged relationship with Diluc (which now seems partly fixed?), but in the performance route of Kaeya's hangout, Kaeya makes his choice.
The story of Prince Qubad is a very, very thinly veiled metaphor for Khaenri'ah all throughout, and then we finally get to the end scene of the play:
Kaeya: When I departed my beloved home to fight in a foreign land, I did so to honor his (my father's) wishes and for my duty to our people. Kaeya: alas, is this fate's grand design… that I should spend the rest of my days in a foreign land, till I am laid to rest in a grave far from home? K: Must it be so…? K: my dear audience, I ask you this: do you believe in fate? if fate decreed that your life was to end in tragedy, what would you do? Traveler: I would challenge my fate, and rise above it. / I would bravely face my fate. K: then so must it be! I shall discard this intaglio, and rid myself of the shackles of fate. G: my dear prince, do you intend to betray your father, and abandon your heritage? K: fate means to send the machinations of war to every corner of the land, to fan the flames of conflict til they engulf the entire world…
K: fate would see my sword tainted with the blood of innocents, that the bright banner of my homeland might fly in every nation known to mankind. K: but I shall not bow to the will of fate. I am no pawn in heaven's plan. K: I, Kaeya Qubad, will spend the rest of my days in a foreign land, til I breathe my last in a place far from home. K: but I must walk this path, or freedom dies by my hand. goodbye, my tribe and kin. farewell, sweet land of my birth.
after a lifetime of questioning his role, Kaeya makes his choice for Mondstadt. and I think this happening after meeting Dain isn't a coincidence. (and no, not in a soulmate way or shipping way- this is Kaeya's moment of choice, not infatuation.)
after not only learning the history of his origins, Kaeya meets a Khaenri'ahn who... doesn't want to return Khaenri'ah to its glory days? who is more focused on helping others and minimizing damage than causing more for his own gain? who chose his path and has not budged since, even through loss?
Kaeya gets to see someone who is so Khaenri'ahn, so human at his core, someone who cares not for the fate and tragedy of their nation. Kaeya gets to meet someone from his homeland who tells him to leave it all behind, who tells him he should take the chance he has been given at his own life; who actively discourages the idea of Kaeya being a fated "prince" or being indebted to Khaenri'ah.
even though he never said it, I think meeting Dainsleif helped Kaeya choose his own path, which is all Dain ever truly asked of him, anyway.
good for Kaeya.
(i understand that i used "ship" tags but those are more for visibility and duo name than anything else. idm if you ship them, i just request that your tags do not turn my analysis post into a ship post, pls! :)

everything is leading up to kaeya's pirate prince grandpa finding an angel but instead of stealing her power maybe he helped her escape and maybe they fell in love with each other because how else would you explain kaeya being dropped in a bottle land and telling stories about jinni trapped in bottles and playing his grandpa who found a fallen star which is based on rumors about a thief and a mage and kaeya going around telling stories of souls of fireflies trapped in lamps and giving a jinni lamp as a gift and a princess named angelica going to khaenri'ah and declaring she'd marry a knight and kaeya's grandpa finding a divine sword in the ocean and divine halberd fallen star princess fischl and capitano keeper of the divine pillar and kaeya summoning a star when he casts his burst and story of a son of a fallen star having stars in his eyes while he and his dad were cursed by the sun

KAEYA LORE FROM THE KAEYA HANGOUT with some theories
Spoilers below!
It's a long one so get ready!
First of, let me mention the fact that the EN team surprisingly changed the dialogue post release of the Caribert quest.
Tumblr media
The original dialogue (still the one in the genshin wiki) merely implies that the main goal of his father was to give him a happier life.
Tumblr media
In my recent playthrough of the quest, however, they have now changed the dialogue into something more concerning. The way this was phrased, the happier life is not the main concern, but is instead to keep Kaeya alive. Was there a threat to his life? How unsafe must it have been to have his father leave him in a distant nation?
Ok, but then so what right?
They then hit us with the Kaeya hangout, and 2 certain routes that are very telling. The play ending and the Venti ending.
For the one with the play, we are introduced to a certain play called The Tale of Prince Qubad. It is a story about a war-hungry father doubting his son and putting him to trial by having his son walk thru raging fire. The prince is unscathed, proving his innocence, however, his father is still doubtful. He sends his son to the battlefield.
A quick search to the name Qubad will lead you to a book of poems called "Shahnameh", a pre-Islamic Persian book that translates to "Epic of Persian Kings".
What are the contents, you may ask? Fascinatingly enough, certain topics of the book includes talks of royal lineage, how their choices affect their people, and primarily, fathers and sons with fathers making mistakes.
I skimmed thru some summaries and found out that Prince Qubad is actually a King in the book. One who surprisingly trusted his son when the prince mentioned of a betrayal and coup against him. His reign continued.
(The book of poems also has a character named Rostam who arguably has the most popular story from the book)
Like the play we see in the game, the Shahnameh also pits fathers and sons against each other, most of the time ending in tragedy. It seems like its a cycle that plans on repeating.
Must it be so?
Tumblr media
Prince Qubad decides to go against his fate. He decides to live in a distant land to maintain peace. His tutor, the one who he truly thinks of as a father, wishes him well.
This choice of the prince is what maintains peace, preventing unnecessary bloodshed and suffering, including a full eradication of their supposed enemies.
This brings several questions and theories?
Who is who in this story? Who is the enemy faction? Is this about Celestia vs. Khaenri'ah? This specific dialogue is for sure talking about the effects of it (with both the Fatui and Abyss Order gunning for a fight with Celestia)
Tumblr media
Was this about Kaeya? Left in a foreign land by his tutor rather than his biological father? Is Kaeya's biological father perhaps the true threat to his own life then? (Damn, imagine losing 3 fathers. Spiderman-core). Is this why he mentions that Kaeya is their only hope? To prevent another devastating war?
Tumblr media
Was him being left in Mondstadt a means to continue the peace in Teyvat? So should Kaeya return to Khaenri'ah...
Or perhaps this is this his father's story in a sense that it was King Qubad in the book who for once changed fate and trusted his own son? Was he on the run from the clan, fully against their choices and opinions, to save Kaeya from said fate? This could also explain why Kaeya is cut off from certain things and how Dainsleif is not familiar with him.
All in all, I can at least be certain that Kaeya wishes to challenge his fate. It's as if he knows how things will end and is repeatedly lamenting on the idea of "is this really his fate?" " can he change it?" and "can he leave the narrative?". He is literally wondering if there is a way to escape a horrid fate and maintain the peace. That is his true wish in all of this, because at the end of the day, Kaeya wants everyone to make it to the end.
Tumblr media
Before moving on, this part is curious to me... is he implying that Celestia is making the people of Teyvat play a role into things? Criticizing the script everyone has been given and wanting everyone to go against it? He is asking people to wake up... and when the traveller questions his thoughts, he immediately backtracks.
Tumblr media
Now to connect this with the Venti ending
I think we can all agree that both Kaeya and Venti know of each other. It was absolutely hilarious to see the way they talk to each other like "I know that you know that I know that you know-" (reminiscent of the time Venti went to Liyue and just started the very same type of dialogue with Zhongli lmao)
Kaeya seems to want to remove himself from the narrative, "leave the stage" you could say, once his role to things is done. He does the same thing after the play, running off once the people who wished to talk to him put their eyes off of him. He chooses to move away to the background and simply watch the seeds of his efforts bloom from a distance. Does he think he does not deserve to be part of it then? ( Did he not do the same for when he prepared for Jean's party? Sitting alone in the tavern rather than mingle with others by the end? And how he nearly left Dawn Winery after being invited for dinner? He keeps wanting to leave...) Venti criticizes him on this. Venti wants both Kaeya and the traveler to see the ending.
Tumblr media
And then Venti proceeds to gift Kaeya with a poem (the same way Kaeya and Venti seem to converse with each other for most of the time... more poems huh? It seems we have a perchance for poetry when it comes to Kaeya)
Tumblr media
What an interesting poem. If i were to interpret this, I would say that he is talking about how Kaeya was left with a cruel fate and given a life full of trials and hardships, and yet Kaeya strives forward despite it all. Kaeya's troubles are unheard to many, but Kaeya also has his eyes facing forward, onwards to a brighter future that he strives for.
Clearly Kaeya wants to see the ending too, whether he thinks he deserves it or not. Kaeya keeps deciding to bring himself out of endings every single time, but the people around him thankfully bring him back and want him there.
Tumblr media
Venti will want Kaeya to come back home by the end of everything. How's that for a poetic ending, hmm??

Hello! Love your fic and blog. I would love to hear your thoughts on something. There's a thing I sometimes see people say...that like Kaeya should have told Diluc his secret earlier than he did. (And I agree that he should have told him at a different time. And I do think it is generally a good thing that would strengthen their relationship, after they work through it, and it gives Kaeya a confidant.) Idk, it's complicated because I kind of feel like Kaeya doesn't really owe anyone the truth until such a time that he is put in a position of potential or active harm to Mondstadt. But I am generally of the opinion that people are way too harsh on most of the characters that keep secrets, as if that in itself is a moral wrong.
Hmmm. I had to think about this a little, anon, because "should" is such a loaded term here!
I think so much about evaluating his choices here depends on context we simply don't have in canon. Is Kaeya actually in Mondstadt for any malicious reason, or did his father leave him there to protect him in some way (and if so, did he justify it with a false mission to make Kaeya cooperate, or is Kaeya fearing a war that isn't actually likely to come)? If there was a reason, was he an active agent (spy, saboteur, what have you) or a helpless pawn (c.f. this post)? If there was an actual plot, has his loyalty changed and he doesn't have to do anything for Khaenri'ah going forward, or does he fear some kind of secret trigger word or magical control that would make him a danger to Mondstadt no matter what? Is "Khaenri'ah" only the Abyss Order at this point, or are there actual non-Order Khaenri'ahans still around that Alberich Sr. is trying to save? (Or, in between the two, is he on the "save/purify the hilichurls" boat with Caribert, but is taking a different tack than the Order, or working with them only reluctantly?)
An important question for me has always been whether the fanon that Kaeya is "a prince" is true because, if he is, and there is an actual plan, and there are actual Khaenri'ahans this plan was meant to save, then morally speaking I don't think he should have told at all. I tolerate royalty even in my fiction only and exclusively on the premise that they serve their people No Matter What (this is why I still hate Ei >> ), and I would lose all respect for him if those three conditions obtained and he still chose Mondstadt.
But like... my insanely high standards for fictional royalty aside... Kaeya was a kid abandoned in a foreign land. That's the one thing we know for absolute certainty. Even if he was around Diluc's age of eighteen, and even if Mondstadt definitely gives responsibility to kids way younger than in our world, to me that's still a kid. "Should" seems to come with moral judgement here that's pretty harsh, given that, and I say this as someone who does judge Diluc around the same events--but with the same ambivalence, for the same reasons, of him being a kid in a tough spot. (I did not make better decisions re: sibling relationships than either of them at that age, let me put it that way.) Also, honestly, if Kaeya had confessed earlier, I don't think Diluc was the person to initially do it to--leaving aside all moral questions, I think the smart person to tell would have been Crepus, an actual adult who, while not perfect as a parent by any means, I feel likely would have chosen to protect his adopted son from blowback. He almost certainly had the experience as a businessman to control when and how that information was disseminated to any relevant parties, including Diluc himself.
I honestly don't even think Kaeya "owes" anyone the truth even if it does put Mondstadt at risk, though that comes from the premise that he still feels conflicted somewhat (which canon has drifted away from somewhat but I do stubbornly cling to, because it's spicier, and I don't love them blandifying my boy >> ). He gets to make his own choices. And then he gets to deal with whatever consequences fall out for them! And honestly, while I feel like the morality of secret-keeping in the real world depends very much on the secrets and their impacts, and can often go horribly wrong, in fiction it leads to some of my favorite kinds of narrative drama. So I guess that's my takeaway!

2nd Prince of Khaenri'ah, Kaeya Alberich
tldr: Kaeya is khaenri’ahn royalty, the youngest of 5. He loses the memory of his family during the cataclysm. When information regarding khaenri’ahs last royal family arises and Kaeya’s name is included, he and Diluc must figure out what exactly happened?
-Kaeya is the youngest of 5 siblings, the final royal family before celestia’s attack
-Kaeya has 4 other siblings, 3 older sisters and one older brother. The oldest is a sister being trained for the throne.
-kaeya's only brother and the second oldest sibling is gifted in alchemy, and is being trained by gold to become the next head alchemist.
-kaeya's two older twin sisters are party animals in a way, always excited for the next ball and to look their best. Outside of their love for parties, they're seen as the people's princesses, as they're more attentive to khanria'nhs civilians wants and needs.
-Kaeya’s very young when the attack began, being only around 3-4. His siblings range from 8-19
-when the attack happens, Kaeya is scooped into the arms of his oldest sister as they flee the crumbling castle.
-they make it as far as they can, Kaeya’s sister clutching him close to her chest so he doesn’t see the crushed bodies of those working inside the castle, alongside his crushed siblings. Kaeya still manages to catch a glimpse
-sadly, they don’t make it, a piece of the wall falling directly on top of Kaeya’s sister head. She manages to throw Kaeya out of the way before it crushed her, but Kaeya hit his head on the way down, passing out. Before losing consciousness, he sees his sisters body besides him.
-Kaeya wakes again, being saved by his father, the only other surviving member of the family. Kaeya doesn’t remember anything when he wakes, the fall causing amnesia.
-Kaeya’s father fills Kaeya in on the basics, his age and his name, avoiding telling Kaeya about the rest of the family and his royal status.
-canon goes on as usual at this point. Kaeya gets left behind as a spy plot, gets adopted by the Ragvinders, Crepus dies, ect ect
-throughout his whole life, Kaeya has no idea who he was before the cataclysm. Only remembering khaenria’h after its fall. He assumes it’s due to it being such a traumatic event and doesn’t attempt to peruse it.
-everything goes as normal, until ancient books are discovered in a dungeon depicting khaenri’hn in sumeru.
-this is a massive discovery, as everything concerning khaenria’h was considered lost after its fall, as all books from Teyvat depicting the nation were very surface level, and any books that went more in-depth were lost to time either by mistake or deliberate measures.
-inside one of the books depicts the final royal family in a painting, a year before khaenria’h’s fall.
-Kaeya hears of the book’s discovery, and due to his curiosity on what his home nation was like before its fall, asks Lisa to order some copies of these books in.
-he trusts that nobody would suspect him of ordering these books, as since the discovery, khaenria’h has become a very popular topic among all the nations.
-When Kaeya sees the photo, he is hit with a strong sense of Deja vu. He recognises almost everyone in this picture, but doesn’t know who they are besides his father.
-connecting the dots, Kaeya realises he was khaenria’hns last prince, that his memories of his supposed siblings and mother were completely missing, and his father never told Kaeya throughout the 2-3 years living in the abyss.
-no matter how hard Kaeya tries, he just cannot remember anything about his family besides the photo he saw of them, only knows what the public knows.
-it infuriates Kaeya, not knowing these people, who he feels love for deep inside his heart. He knows he used to care deeply for these people, but he can’t for the life of him remember why.
-he thinks to himself, that he’s lost two families, it’s a bitter remark.
-Diluc notices Kaeya ordering in the books from his spy network, remarking how Kaeya specifically paid to ship them into the nation, to get them there as fast as possible.
-when Diluc confronts Kaeya about this privately, it takes a bit of pushing before Kaeya cracks, admitting and sharing his forgotten past with Diluc.
-Diluc is a little in shock about this news, after all, for the longest time he’d been Kaeya’s only sibling, or so he thought, but how can he get mad if Kaeya himself had no idea!
-the thought of forgetting his own family, no matter how broken his and Kaeya’s brotherhood was now, terrified him.
-Diluc decides to help Kaeya remember, despite their broken relationship
-together, they search for clues and ways for Kaeya to get his memory back, to remember what was of his first family.

hi!!! can i please req a kaeya smut fic where fem (or gn) reader gets married to prince kaeya and has her first time with him. he does praise u a lot and his corruption kink just goes 📈📈📈
𝄞 — kaeya (fem reader) — ❝ what it means to touch you first ❞
Tumblr media
summary: (kinda obvious, just based off what anon asked here), prince kaeya has decided on the lucky woman he had to marry, surprisingly but no so, it was you! after being together for long, obviously he needed an heir, but you had no experience, asking kaeya about it, he knows what to do :)
a/n: i giggled at this, thank you tho🙏🙏 hopefully i get this right !! first ask :')
warnings: nsfw, corruption kink, praise kink (i guess?), virgin reader, sub!reader, dom!kaeya (experienced-ish), fingering
Tumblr media
prince!kaeya was forced to marry a girl, so he married the one he knew the most, you. the only reason he needed to get married soon is for another ruler to help or assist kaeya with the future of their kingdom, khaenri'ah.
kaeya wasn't fond of the idea of owning a kingdom, almost overwhelming him. but luckily there's you, his childhood bestfriend since forever, although not being from the same 'kind' of people, he still at some point, he dreamt of you becoming his significant other. you were a great partner, and he knew you'd be a great ruler, or assistant in helping with the majorly important decisions.
of course he was aware he also was married for another reason, a future heir after kaeya. throughout the marriage of both of you, he tried bringing it up but didn't wanna make you uncomfortable. it didn't seem like you got the hints he tried throwing at you with the whereabouts about the future child you guys may have.
but that didn't mean you also didn't think about having a kid with him! you were well aware you both got married for an heir, and for another ruler. you both haven't done anything all that explicit, but now concious of used to and still have liking each other romantically, so it still worked out relationship wise.
a nice, warm, calm day, you suddenly ask kaeya about an heir for the kingdom soon. he was intriguied and started teasing you about it. always talking about how cute you were when flustered (this hoe istg). "why are you so curious about this now?" he asked with a hand wrapping around your waist. "i— I don't know!" flustered screaming at him just for him to stop you and ask "if you want to make an heir, I'd be happy to oblige, my love." making you face his smirk paired with his ocean blue eyes.
"really? I mean what?" you both head back inside the castle. "really, if that's what you want, I don't mind." kaeya said making a hurry to your shared bedroom. "hey wait up!" running after him.
once getting into the room pining you down on the bed. "kaeya!!" you said trying to get up but encages both your hands with his own. "do you wanna make an heir?" he asked cold blue eyes staring you down filled with hunger. "it's um, well before anything I wa na tell you something" "go on" " I'm a virgin so please don't be so rough with me, I'll be honest this is quite embarrassing too.." looking away from his glance, "i'll be gentle sweetheart, i'll show you what it means to touch you first." he said, you moan slightly
taking off your clothes slowly, just to savor the moment. blush on your face being clear as day, sitting up when kaeya strips both of you. "ready?" he says as you nod, slowly entering his finger into your hole, making you slightly whimper. continuing to thrust his fingers in you felt like you were pn cloud nine. slowly adding another finger you felt hazy, "my, you really are tight.." he commented fastening his pace once again. you came with a cry
"did that feel good, babe?" he asked teasingly as he licked your slick off his fingers. he just fingered you yet you look like it's been hours with you both just making love. "you did so good for me, beautiful, although i think you're ready enough for me don't you think?" he said, finally pulling out his cock
"w-what if it won't fi-fit?" you whimpered out looking at his beautiful dick, "oh, don't worry darling, it will fit." he said, giving you a long kiss, as he alligns his cock with your entrance, and gladly penetrating your insides. making you gasp in shock, (also btw missionary position). he loved your cute little expressions, seeing how much he's corrupting your innocent soul.
hours (and hours) later, you still whine for kaeya to stop, but he knows you dont really mean that, while his cock kisses the deepest parts of you, finally finding that one spot you moan the loudest for, "mm, good girl, jeep whining like that and i'll give something real nice next round." he says, starting to suck on your neck, making you more sensitive than before.
waves of pleasure hitting you like a tsunami, hole so wet from previous rounds, legs trembling, "ah.. haah.. you.. you're doing so good for me" he grunts, putting your leg up on his shoulder thrusting harder. his pace quicker than before. "i'm close baby, you're doing s' good for me..", "m-me too k-kaeya"
both of you finally finish together, painted in white, "you were wonderful, my love. how did it feel?" he asked carrying you bridal style to your huge bathroom, "do you think the guards heard us?" you ask leaning towards to his chest. he laughs and continues to help you into the bath.
you guys cuddle all night and u find out ur pregnant a bit later you live happily ever after the end (kinda rushed this sorry 😓😓)

How Kaeya and Kokomi's mysterious pasts can come back to haunt them
Tumblr media
Cross-posting from HoYoLab. If you enjoyed this post, please give me a like there!
Disclaimer: Spoilers for the 3.8 flagship event, Secret Summer Paradise.
Just An Ordinary Human
In an exchange between Klee and Kokomi, the young girl asks her new friend a funny question.
Tumblr media
To which Kokomi has a perfectly reasonable answer.
Tumblr media
So that sets the record straight, right? Kokomi is nothing but a normal human. Nothing special about her!
Not quite!
Foreshadowing is defined as "an indication of what is to come" in works of literature and media. Foreshadowing doesn't have to be a positive assertion to a plot line coming up later - it can also pose a question that will be addressed down the road.
Klee pointing at Kokomi's mermaid-like design elements and asking her if she's a fish isn't meant to make the player ask this same question literally. What it is meant to do is have us question, "Is Kokomi just an ordinary human?" She may not be a fish or mermaid, but there are other forces at play from Enkanomiya, her ancestral home, that we can look into.
Just A Calvary Captain
The characters in Genshin Impact aren't always upfront about who they are or their origins. A prime example of this is the Traveler themselves - they are not forthcoming to Paimon, their closest traveling companion, about how and why they came to Teyvat, their origins, and the powers they have.
This means we can't always take what a character says at face value. The uncertainty and subsequent questioning is meant to heighten suspicion and excitement for later reveals.
One such character who has had much of this foreshadowing about their origins and motivations is Kaeya Alberich, who conveniently also happened to be featured in this event. As one of the four starter characters, we've known about Kaeya's mysterious foreshadowing since the beginning of the game. This is in reference to his origins in Khaenri'ah and Mona's voiceline, About Kaeya.
Kaeya Alberich? He's a Pavo Ocellus. Destined for greatness and grandeur... and to hide ugly realities behind a layer of charm and elegance. He believes he has made a clean break with his past, but one day fate will catch up with him. When it does, he will have a major decision to make.
This led to fans speculating that he is Khaenri'an royalty, a lost prince because of his dad's line "You are our last hope" though we eventually found out in the 2.8 Hidden Strife event that the Alberich clan were more like retainers to King Irmin.
"Remember always that it was the Alberich Clan, who did not have royal blood, who stepped in as regents when the strength of the one-eyed king Irmin failed. Though we could not restore Khaenri'ah to life, we of the Alberich Clan should lead lives as those who blaze like fire, rather than those who wallow in the embers."
And despite fan theories speculating that Kaeya may betray Mondstadt due to his allegiance with Khaenri'ah, the game seems to point toward the opposite. If the remnants of Khaeri'ah are the Abyss Order, led by the Abyss Princess/Prince, then Kaeya is likely to side with his immediate home and family.
We see yet another hint of this in the ongoing event in his exchange with Collei.
Tumblr media
Her hesitance is echoing that of the players' who wonder if Kaeya is a double agent working against Mondstadt's interests. But Kaeya's response foreshadows his choice in that prophesized choice he will have to make, mentioned by Mona.
Tumblr media
We already know from Kaeya's character stories that he will drink and mingle with Treasure Hoarders to get intel for the Knights of Favonius, and it's hinted in Part 9, Crash Course, of the Archon Quest Prologue: Act I - The Outlander Who Caught The Wind that he can speak the Abyssal language to communicate with Abyss Mages.
This, and his exchange with Zosimos after the performance of his play, teases his possible double agent status.

The implication here is that Kaeya is putting up a front and acting out a part in our interactions with him. However, as has already been established, it seems less and less likely that Kaeya would betray his friends and home. Rather, he may be able to leverage his status as inheritor of the Khaeri'an royalty to put up a resistance to the Abyss Order alongside the Traveler. He gets to reclaim his homeland, while the Traveler can get their twin back.
Sleeping Dragon
Kokomi, much like Kaeya, is a descendant and heir of an ancient fallen kingdom, Enkanomiya. But is she a double agent? Is Enkanomiya foreshadowed to come back, like Khaenri'ah?
Not quite.
While Khaenri'ah was defined by being a godless nation ruled by human might alone, Enkanomiya has ties to before the creation of Teyvat as we know it and the Primordial One.
Before the Primordial One arrived to what would become Teyvat, it was ruled by the Seven Sovereigns, or dragons-lords. We've met one of the sovereigns, Apep, in Sumeru. Another of the seven dragon-lords was the Dragon of Water, who perished in its fight against the Primordial One.
Before it became known as Enkanomiya, the realm was called Byakuyakoku and was terrorized by Dragonheirs of the Depths or the creatures now called Bathysmal Vishaps. You're likely familiar with them.
Tumblr media
Their name was changed once the people learned that the Dragonheirs feared light and could drive them away with their lanterns and artificial sun. From there they studied and experimented on the Vishaps and found that they are not only intelligent, but can communicate with each other and evolve.
It is in these experimental records that we learn of a prophecy.
Prophecy holds that the Dragon Sovereign of Water will be born in a human form. We must not let this thing happen in Enkanomiya.
The Byakuyakoku Collection, Vol 4
Following the fading of the Seven Sovereigns' power, a new generation of Sovereigns is presently being born. But now that the Bathysmal Vishaps have evolved in this manner, they have lost their purity. As such, the Dragon of Water will no longer be born from among their ranks. Prophecy holds that the new Dragon of Water will definitely descend in the form of a human.
Bolteater Bathysmal Vishap Hatchling description
Tumblr media
This is where the theory that Kokomi is the prophesized Dragon of Water reborn stems from.
It does not matter that she says she is "just an ordinary human" because the prophecy states that the sovereign will be reborn as a human.
Her constellation also points to this.
Tumblr media
The Latin name, Dracaena Somnolenta, translates to "sleeping dragon". Seems pretty straightforward.
What does it mean for Kokomi, Enkanomiya, and the story if she is indeed revealed to be the Dragon of Water? Will it have a resurgence like Khaenri'ah?
I don't believe so. The descendants of Enkanomiya now occupy Watatsumi Island in Inazuma. They no longer worship their dead god, Orobashi, who was slain by the Raiden Shogun, but live a somewhat independent existence on their island.
According to their local legends, Enkanomiya attempts to absorb the spirit of Watatsumi, which slowly bleaches and erodes the island's soil, turning it into an uninhabitable desert. This is why the Sangonomiya Shrine conducts the Watatsumi Mitama Omatsuri ritual that purifies the waters and soil. If this fails, the phenomena could disturb the Vishaps that lurk deep in the depths below.
If, for whatever reason, these rituals fail and the ancient Vishaps invade the surface, who better to stop them, even command them, than the reborn Dragon of Water?
The power of water is its ability to take any shape...
It's no coincidence that Kaeya and Kokomi are two of the characters featured in Secret Summer Paradise. Not only are they both heirs of fallen nations, but the event itself touches on the theme of hidden/secret identities.
This is exemplified by the main NPC, Idyia.
While she first appears as "just a normal human" we learn in Act III - Dreams and First Encounters! that her human appearance hides her true form, that of an Oceanid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Idyia's reveal reflects what fans expect for Kaeya and Kokomi.
She is exiled from her homeland, Fontaine. While the nation still exists, it can be said that it is not the same as when the former Hydro Archon, Lord Amrita, ruled and thus has fallen in that sense. Idyia now resides in a foreign nation and hides her true origins and form.
The extra connection between Idyia and Kokomi is the affinity for the Hydro element, which is associated with transformation, illusions, and dreams.
In Conclusion
What can we take away from all this?
The characters aren't always reliable narrators. They can lie to us, just like the Traveler can withhold information.
Things are not always as they seem, so believe only that which your eyes show you... these themes will undoubtedly be expanded upon in Fontaine, the nation of Justice and the courtroom.
Heads may roll.

buns notes: *point's at the khaenri'ah boys* these bad boys can fit so much angst in them
content:Dainsleif/Albedo/Kaeya x gender neutral reader. Angst/Slight hurt+comfort. 2.6 archon quest storyline in kaeyas. Mention of immortality and death and souls. Self destructive urges (Dain) blood(Kaeya/Dain) pushing my Kaeya is the prince of Khaenri'ah agenda. Broken glass. Fainting. Panic attacks. English is not my first language so I'm sorry for any mistakes!
Dark blogs. K!nk and ed blogs do not interact.

Cursed with immortality, it's not a surprise he'll grab any taste of death that he can. Throwing himself into what would be impossible and deadly battles, taking comfort in the sounds of swords clanking against each other and the warmth of blood dripping down his skin.
These self-destructive urges have dwindled a little ever since you joined his side. It's easier with you beside him. when you're around He's too busy indulging in the warmth and love you bring him, cherishing the feeling of your lips against his skin and your fingers tracing heart shapes on the back of his hands. too busy enjoying the relief your love brings him.
However, the burden of the curse, his thoughts, the pain gets too heavy to bear alone when you're not there. It's a spiral downwards into a dark place and the urge to throw himself into the most dangerous parts of teyvat is at its strongest. Though for now you're able bring him back into the light and soothe the pain, the thoughts don't stop for a while. He's only feeling like this when you're not there, and because of his curse, there will come a time, many years from now, when you won't be able to save him anymore.
He likes to believe you will. Although he would never wish you the pain of the curse cast upon him, can you really blame him for indulging in thoughts of you being by his side for as long as he lives?
He started to keep a journal with him, to write down everything about you, everything you have said to him, what you two did during the day. there is no doubt he will search the grounds and the heavens for a cure, a spell that might break the curse, something to severe its ties to him, so you can grow old together. But he's so afraid to be without you. Keeping a journal of everything about you is his way to eternalize you, and maybe, if you do leave, he'll be able to survive it.

Albedo
Albedo never believed he had a soul. Born out of alchemy, instead of two hearts that loved each other enough. It didn't surprise him when he didn't feel emotions as strong as the others, he doesn't even remember ever spilling a tear. That's one of the reasons he's an alchemist, to understand the world, the people in it, and around him. In his view, he could never comprehend it through emotions such as wonder, love, and heartbreak. how could he when there's nothing inside him?
You changed a lot when you came around. His old beliefs were challenged from the moment he laid his eyes on you. Was it normal for his heart to beat this fast? Was it a malfunction? Why was it that he can't seem to stop staring at you, memorizing all the details on your face, the subtle changes in your expressions? And what was with the blood rushing to his cheeks every time you're gazes met?
After spending days up on Dragonspine, running countless tests on himself, and writing notebooks full of his symptoms, there was clearly nothing wrong with his body. And for the first time, he was able to understand curiosity
As you grew closer to each other, you continued to challenge his beliefs every day. The first time he laughed uncontrollably, you were beside him, laughing right along with him.
He shed his first tear when you were badly wounded in a commission. The pain and anger of seeing you hurt are emotions he hopes to never experience again.
The warmth and soft happiness spreading through his body whenever you looked his way, smiled at him, touched him...
Is it possible for souls to be external beings?
You're the only thing that truly makes him feel alive, human even.
Perhaps he does have a soul, you.

Kaeya
Lets imagine kaeya was affected by the 2.6 archon quest as well
Everything is muffled, his vision is dotted with occasional flashes of..stars? and it feels like his head is about to explode. Is he still breathing, is his heart even inside his chest he can't even tell. As if poison is pumping through his veins and burning him up from within, he feels only searing hot pain throughout his entire body.
just a few moments ago he was with Diluc and you in Angels Share, so why is he seeing blurry flashes of crumbling castles and broken crowns? why is he hearing muffled sounds of machinery, and who is that masked man calling him...prince Kaeya? There is no sense to anything and the pain prevents him from assessing the situation
Through the pain be can make out subtle touches to his forehead. Is it you? Are you still there with him? Please, please say that you are because he's terrified.
He's trying to make out what the muffled sounds are, hoping to hear you
"GET A HEALER!" diluc?
"Kaeya, please open your eyes" thank the archons it's your voice.
Just as suddenly as the pain came, it faded away and he found himself breathing again, sitting upright, clutching his throat, and breathing deeply. The dots in his vision are slowly clearing and he can now see the teary-eyed look on your face, as well as a very concerned Diluc pulling Jean inside
He's on the floor, you're there with him and his hands are bleeding from the glass that shattered in his grasp.
Despite the pain being over, and knowing he's in good hands, the things he saw, that man calling his name....panic is building in his chest as he shoots straight into a panic attack. bloodied hand desperately grasping yours
"Don't leave me alone, please Y/n"
