It's torturous, the way Inigo continuously toyed with him. The looming cash in on a favor he himself offered stifled him on the daily, making every little thing just an extra level of uncomfortable. The very same way he tensed and postured when an enemy was in his vicinity was now his initial reaction whenever Inigo invaded his space, leaving his shoulders aching by the time he was left alone. Why, oh why, did he ever offer himself up in that way? And now, though they're meant to be bonding, getting closer on their trip to the tavern, Gerome was so tightly wound up that he couldn't even taste his ale. That laughter, so carefree yet somehow taunting; he couldn't stand it for one more second. Without another word, Gerome stood and took the other by the shoulder, and perhaps harsher than he should have, hoisted him from his seat and shoved him along, right out the door where they could get some semblance of privacy. ❝ I've been patient for far too long. Enough. ❞ The backdrop of people laughing raucously within the tavern interrupted, only serving to further annoy him, and in turn take it out on his ally. ❝ This twisted game you're playing with me ends here. Now, Inigo. I demand you pick whatever damned favor you desire—anything at all—just to rid me of this bind you sadistically enjoy keeping me wound up in. ❞

As always, he is an anchor in the storm, a light that breaks its way through the blinding darkness that threatens to engulf them. She has always done her best to maintain her composure, to emulate her parents, and remain as put together as possible. Before, they relied on her to lead them through the end of their world. Now, they are looking to her to prevent the death and ruin they faced growing up from occurring once more.

Even so, it feels as though he has always been able to see through her facade for as long as the princess has known him. Through it all, he has been there and Lucina does not doubt the truth that rings in his words. Every time the power to make such a decision has been in his hands, he has been there for her. "And you will always have me, no matter what awaits us in this war."

Oh, in brief, fleeting moments does she dare dream of what it might be like for them to finally see peace. They were born into a world of war, knowing most of their lives that every day could be their last. In those rare moments, at times she dares to imagine a future. "I can not put into words how much your presence means to me, Gerome. I hope we can see this war through, and whatever may greet us at its end together."

Morgan’s Tome Entry for Gerome (Please Recognize Most is Written in a Code she made. This is the translation not what a character would read.)

Initial Impressions: Buh! I’m dark and brooding! Feel my wyvern wrath! I have cool masks I won’t give to Morgan cause I’m selfish! In reality Gerome is a well practice wyvern rider who tends to keep more so to himself.

Pros: He’s a wyvern rider that is extremely close with a pretrrained wyvern. From what I’ve been told, Minerva was trained by his mother and she was extremely competent. This means the wyvern will likely protect Gerome at all costs. They’re relatively intelligent and ice no doubt recognize familial importance to a degree.

Cons: Very self focused. Less likely to be effective at aiding in troop transport as he tends to solely focus on himself and Minerva. While this makes him an effective fighter, there may be issues alongside teamwork with comrades. Specifically with communication. This could lead to long term plans being defective or in danger.

Tactical Benefits: Strong fighter. Rid area of archers, bring him in on Minerva, and disperse the crowd. Allow allied ranged attackers to pick off enemies retreating.

Death: Addendum: Nothing is here? Did I plan a death segment for Gerome just because everyone else fell to a similar fate? How broken was I at the time to do so? I.... I hope it wasn’t too bad... Seeing the previous ones I can only hope... I can confirm his death though, and assume I suffered amnesia soon after.

How did Gerome die? Minerva also died as well, how? By who’s hand? Does this relate to Lucina’s, Severa’s, and Laurent’s missing pages?

Did I suffer amnesia after this event? Was I mortally wounded? Is that why I can’t remember anything?

What was his mission when he died? I assume aiding in the awakening but still...

Libra, Taking Charge

Thanks for the support as always, @xpegasusuniverse! This couple is actually one of the first ones I did in my awakening files, so it was super satisfying to write for them! ;v;)b

Summary: Libra and Cherche were more than used to their lives as the heads of the orphanage they built at the outskirts of Ylisse. The children were well loved and gave young Gerome much needed companionship. Winter was approaching and it was time to plan for the yearly fundraiser...

The spring flowers were just about to give their last bloom to the world, welcoming the warm summer yet again. By the window of a recently built orphanage, Libra smiled softly as he watched some of the children play around the garden, guarded by a very unlikely pair of eyes.

The wyvern Minerva was a highly intelligent animal -- she could understand words and commands, and, although she couldn't speak per se, she was also able to communicate with her knight, Cherche and Headmaster Libra, Cherche's husband.

Libra chuckled heartily, turning his attention back to the cloth doll he was making. The sound of a door opening in the distance preceded the delicious smell of his wife's cooking, making Libra's smile widen.

"My, you're getting ready for it quite early this year." Cherche's voice had an amused tone, followed by a graceful laugh inherent only to her.

The monk raised his attention from his work only to receive Cherche's kiss on his cheek before turning back to finishing the doll's smile. "Indeed. I fear that this year's winter will be harsher than usual." He said in a preoccupied tone. "All the more reason for the fall fundraiser to succeed."

Cherche slid her hands on her husband's shoulders, leaning on the cool window. Her gaze also fell onto the children playing outside, which only made her smile widen. "Should I come up with a new recipe for this year, then? Hearsay is that the pumpkin crop is going to be bountiful -- surely the usual farmers will donate more than usual to help with the event."

Libra's hands stopped moving as he lifted the doll close to his face so as to properly examine it. Then, he leaned his head on his wife's arm, closing his eyes to enjoy the last of the pleasant sunlight before summer began. "That would be wonderful, my love. I have a few ideas involving the children as well -- they expressed their interest in joining the organization last year, so I've been wondering since then what we could have them do."

"Oh?" Cherche asked quizzically, never taking her eyes off of the playing kids right outside. Their guard, Minerva, was flapping her wings humorously, clearly having her fun as well.

"It would be wonderful if they could sing a carol, don't you think? The church usually has the village children sing during mass, but this one group would be composed solely of our children."

It wasn't unusual for Libra and Cherche to refer to the orphans they took care of as their own children -- young Gerome was also being raised amongst them, so they all might as well be the couple's kids, no problem. 

"Oh, that sounds positively wonderful!" Cherche hummed happily, scratching her husband's neck to forewarn him she was moving her hand away lest he bonked his head on the window. "What shall we have them sing? Oh, perhaps I could even sew some adorable uniforms for them all to wear -- our Gerome included! He will look dashing with the blonde hair and heavenly voice he got from you!"

"Er-" Libra flinched, more than quickly putting himself on his feet to look at his wife. "Perhaps I should design the uniforms, my dear?" He asked with a hint of desperation. He knew his wife's sense of fashion quite well. "We can sew it together," he added before she protested, "however I'm sure you- yes, you will be rather busy coming up with the new pumpkin recipe, won't you?"

Cherche placed one hand over her cheek, almost pouting. "Why, that would be no trouble at all -- I need but confirm which crops we will receive as a donation to combine with the ones we already grow here..." She sighed, visibly unhappy. "Aren't you the one who will have much on his hands, dear husband? To give the children singing lessons, craft unique dolls to sell during the event and meet with the people from the church surely will have most of your attention."

"Gh-" Libra gulped. She was right and both of them knew it. However! He could not let her take the reins of the uniforms.

It... It was for public safety. Yes. Indeed, for public safety.

"Nonsense, Cherche." He let out a nervous laugh as he carefully placed the doll and his sewing tools on a nearby table. "It will be a simple drawing -- after that I promise I'll share the workload with you."

Cherche didn't move from her I-am-visibly-showing-how-upset-I-am pose, though her expression held a simple pout and a cocked eyebrow. Libra felt cold sweating itching down his back -- if she started fighting for the position of designer, he would need the blessings of all gods to withstand and counter her sound arguments and perfect execution of any task assigned to her. Cherche's heart was in the right place, but the things she regarded as 'cute' were... not. What was appalling was that even the children were starting to absorb her, well, unique beauty standard, making Libra even wonder what was true beauty in the first place.

Of course, as a monk, he was of one mind to accept any and all who would come to him, no matter their tastes. He actually found that side of hers to be rather endearing, but that wasn't the point at the moment: The entire point of hosting a fundraiser was to attract people into donating, which meant appealing to the masses.

Cherche's tastes were far too... Advanced to be understood and accepted by the people around them, though Libra could actually see the entire village charmed by his wife in a few years' time, just like with the children.

However, that time was not now. He had to stand his ground.

"Oh, very well." Cherche sighed in defeat, walking from behind the chair towards her husband. She placed her index over his chest, a smirk brewing at the corners of her lips. "You'll leave the new dish to me as agreed, yes? I'll make sure to go over it with the nuns at the church so I can sell them beside their booth."

Partly relieved for taking the uniforms away from Cherche, Libra smiled with uncertainty, now worried about whatever it was that his wife was cooking -- quite literally! -- this time.

Nevertheless, Cherche simply reached in for a quick kiss before winking to her husband. "Come; lunch's ready! I'll ask Minerva to round up the children so we can all eat together."

Libra's shoulders sagged minimally, huffing a smile. "Thank you. I'll help set the table."

The fundraiser for the orphanage happened yearly at the end of autumn, just as the last of the leaves were falling and all the delicious crops have been harvested -- it served to help raise funds for the upcoming winter, so they could have more blankets, reinforced walls, proper roof management, warm clothes and such.

As predicted, the harvest had been bountiful -- so were the donations. The event consisted in most of the nearby farmers donating their surplus to the church so it could hold the festivities which ranged from caroling (debuting this year!), racing games and the selling of baked and handmade goods. Since the couple’s arrival, there was also the amusing and somewhat nerve-wracking wyvern-riding event as well, but that was for children older than 13 and adults, of course.

Libra, Cherche and the nuns were the ones who organized everything as well as set up their booths during the entirety of the event -- it was a tiring business, to be sure; but it was all worth their while and labor if it meant to see the children smiling and having their fun.

The scheduled carols were a huge hit -- the kids were more than lacking in the vocal department, but their charisma was off the charts, especially with the adorable uniforms they wore. They captivated their audience every time they were on stage, being called to encores more than once during their presentations. 

Cherche never did find an especially, er, adorable dish she could make with the leftover pumpkins, so she simply presented a pumpkin purée inside a cup that very much looked like a cracked skull, to Libra’s despair. She also had ‘dragon eggs’ in her repertoire, not to mention a spider shaped bread with sausages… Surprisingly, they were all hits with the children, though the adults would need a bit getting used to to their… unique designs.

Despite the bolts of cold sweat springing up here and there during the day, Libra was delighted to reach the end of the event with a full sold-out house -- earning promises from his wife to bring the ‘adorable’ dishes back the next year, alongside a few new additions.

“Oh, well,” he chuckled as they packed everything back into the church. “As long as she and the children are content, it was all worth it. Perhaps next year I’ll see her designs for the uniforms…”

“Oh, what great news!” Cherche giggled from inside the dark room, making Libra flinch out of his skin. “I’ll hold you onto that, my dear husband!” She snuck a peppy kiss while Libra carried a crate, unable to even tear away from her to speak.

“Mhm!” Libra widened his eyes with the sudden kiss, though sagged his shoulders in defeat. Oh, well. He meant what he said, so now he should own up to it. May the next year be good to him!

Favorite Female Lord: 

My baby girl Lucina I love her so much???  She’s so strong and so fierce and so dedicated, she refuses to give up in the face of what might look like insurmountable odds, she challenges her fate and it’s beautiful I love her dearly and I want nothing but happiness for her. ;v;

Favorite child unit(s) from any FE game? 

Well since Awakening is My Only Game…Lucina goes without saying (she gets all the mentions here), along with Morgan who’s a sweetheart and a treasure and I love them to bits.  I also have a real soft spot for Owain, who is wonderful and theatrical and a godsdamn delight every time he opens his mouth.  Also I really like Laurent and Gerome in part because I have this headcanon that those two and Lucina are the oldest of the kids and wound up getting a lot of tutoring from Robin in their childhoods and early teens, so when things go so wrong in the doomed timeline, they work together to keep things operating: Laurent takes over monitoring the condition of the troops, keeping tabs on the status of supplies and soldiers both; Gerome takes Laurent’s reports and acts on them, shouldering some of the burden of maintaining their forces before reporting to Lucina; and Lucina’s the leader who keeps the army together, whose strength of will and courage keep morale up and whose quick thinking allows them to endure as long as they do.  

What character in Heroes can you just not seem to get? 

Well right now it’s Celica why won’t you come home sob but in general, the oldest character that I’m still angling for is actually Mist!  I have a real soft spot for healer units (Lissa’s one of my main units and I fully intend to +10 her, I actually have all the copies I need I just need a ton of hero feathers now), so I’d really like to get her at some point.  A week ago I would have said Azura but I finally got her through the bound battle banner after a freaking year

Archanaea series

THERE ARE TOO MANY CHARACTERS IN THIS SERIES HHH-- tbh i remember none of the characters really stood out to me in the Shadow Dragon trilogy except for ones i thought were cute (like Wolf! i luv a man with a tortured past). Minerva has always stuck with me too, mostly bc of her cool design. i’ve stated in the past, though, that Jeorge remains one of my favs.

for Gaiden / Echoes, there are a ton! Celica is gud, as i have also stated in the past. Mae and Boey were cute too! their interactions were just so quirky. i also adored the Whitewings; Echoes really fleshed out their characters compared to their Shadow Dragon counterparts. most of all, however, i am absolutely head over heels for Python and Conrad. 

lastly, in Awakening, there’s honestly... so many..... Lon’qu, Maribelle, Brady, Gerome, Noire, Gangrel, Aversa, and Stahl are a few. there are a lot!

Elibe series

not gonna lie, i didn’t really get into Binding Blade character-wise. i thought it was fun but... the only ones that stood out to me were Klein, Sue, Sophia, and Fae.

Blazing Blade, on the other hand!! i LOVE Lyndis! she’s still my favorite Lord to this day. Hector is still cool. Nils and Ninian are adorable. i still have a soft spot for Serra and Matthew.

Tellius series

HOO BOY. between Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, can i just say everyone? it’s way too hard to pick favorites. there are too many characters and i luv them all.

Fates series

i was surprised how many characters i liked in Fates! the entire Nohr family is amazing. i love all of them -- their pasts, personalities, and bonds w one another are all so lovely. despite her presence on this blog, Camilla is not my favorite; i love Xander, Elise, and Leo just as much. (i would, however, smooch Camilla the moment i could.)

Takumi is also really high up there, mostly bc there are a lot of traits i share w him. i also love how Fates portrayed how much Inigo, Owain, and Severa have changed. they’ve grown a lot since Awakening -- so much so that i didn’t really care for them in their first appearance, but look at them now! they’re some of my favs. Kaze, Oboro, Scarlet, and Kagero are also really good; Arthur is AMAZING and it makes me so sad no one else appreciates him.

i rly gotta stop pulling for new favs and lock into building my awakening kids. got a +10 gerome, cynthia, brady, ny!yarne, v!owain, laurents almost there… got the whole awakening trio (fates ver.), decently merged five star ones in nah, lucina, owain, yarne… and yet. they all suck ass shit garbage because i have NOTHING for them. NOTHING. what am i DOING. need to grab halloween nah and get serious. what am i even doing in this game

Who did you end up pairing together in awakening & fates??

oh boy this is gonna be a long one anon!!!Awakening Chrobin: WELL. if you haven't noticed by now this is my otp numero uno. like not just fe but all of my ships. i would die for this ship. it's just so like... tragic and well written, especially the dynamic between f!robin and Lucina. "my life is yours. it has always been." that gets me sobbing every time. they're so cute and awkward together and even though the supports with Chrom and Robin aren't the best, the rest of the plot makes up for it. "may we meet again, in a better life" UURURGGGH THAT MAKES ME CRY ALL OVER AGAIN Ricken & Nowi: Nowi with anyone else is just weird when you consider her age. And Ricken!Nah is best Nah. Frederick & Cherche: Their supports are pretty well done as far as I can remember. It's just a nice pairing. Also Frederick as Gerome's dad is really cute. Cordelia & Lon'qu: I mainly picked them together bc their supports are bearable when you consider Cordelia's whole thing about Chrom. Lon'qu!Severa = A++++ Henry & Sumia: there's only like 4 guys Sumia can be with aside from Chrom and I know intsys did that on purpose, but their supports are super cute, also Cynthia's personality reminds me a lot of Henry so I just thought it fit. Lucina & Inigo: Their supports could be written better, but they're nice nonetheless. Inigo tries to get her to lighten up and wants her to be happy. At the end of their S support, Lucina threatens to actually cut him if he ever talks to other girls. Which is kind of... dark? It's still a cute lighthearted pairing though.Fates (I'm only doing birthright bc this is taking a while to write) Corrin & Silas: oh boy. oh BOY. 17/10. That whole childhood friend thing is adorable. Plus as an added bonus Silas has a little bit more plot involvement than some other characters I guess? But every time they get reunited at that one chapter I'm done for. So cute. Hana & Subaki: ok, I've heard some people don't like this ship but I definitely do? The whole "I hate you but I love you" dynamic is 10/10. Also there's a height difference™ bc Hana is pretty smol. And Hana!Caeldori is v pretty Takumi & Oboro: We already know Oboro has a huge crush on Takumi so I didn't want to ruin that!! Also, Takumi is super sweet and kind to her in their supports and it's just vv soft and a nice pairing. And they have matching hair. Ryoma & Kagero: not gonna lie, I put them together only bc of Shiro's hair color. But idk. Their personalities are kind of similar and go well together I guess. I know there's more but I can't remember them all :/

Gay Awakening Update v0.3.0

I got lazy about images this time, but guess what, it's a new update! This one is jumping up to v 0.3.0 because it adds in the rest of the copy/pasteable S Supports for Robin (which is nearly all of the non-robinsexual first gen), and the corresponding family support conversations for the full experience. Hope people enjoy!
