i'm a season three loyalist forever (shocking i know) but season two of the silt verses is definitely the strongest in terms of tightly written high-stakes but still intimate weird fiction horror drama that perfectly balances character-driven and plot-driven narrative. so many bangers. hayward's horrible catering job. carpenter's revenge. the sorrow-and-shame. the love saints episode. angel in the echoes. paige's entire arc with her father and her desire to build something better than what came before. the battle for the gulch. the twin mouths reunion, reconciliation, and inevitable betrayal. mercer, gage, and shrue all being introduced and executed to perfection as vehicles of both the multifaceted nature of humanity that the podcast aims to explore and the widening scope of the story, who both expanded on existing themes and introduced new, equally relevant ones. faulkner and mason's power struggles for control of what they see as the greater, all-encompassing narrative, which is itself merely a small story with only a few players in a far larger performance. my god that season had everything. they should showcase it in masterclasses on writing.

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?

SO I imagine Erina to come in in between season 2 and 3.. I was posting about it a few nights ago, in the erina timeline she sees the matsus from the background at the highschool reunion and gets inspired to go hunt them down and calculate befriending them. . But that wouldn’t be her first scene that would be revealed later in the erina arc .. the first scene would be strange coincidences of the matsus seeing erina run into them in strange situations and coincidences, and it’s all recollected by the matsus all talking about their pov of the encounter at chibita until erina actually shows up behind them and being giggly abt how silly they are… im trying to adjust the specifics of her intro so it’s WIP ⚠️ 🚧

HEHE yes technically @tottychanneru ‘s oc ramirabi is like a pet to her but he is more like a little animal magical creature bff.. he is funny creature… he is her supporter.. her precious friend who phases through the window peacefully when he goes out for the day

And erina also gets a dog later in her and oso’s relationship… based off my own dog Cho Cho <3 I think in the erina verse he would be called Po Po maybe because thats one of my nicknames for him hehe, or Chopi, … and Osomatsu helps get him for her because she was longing for a dog… seeing someone want to give up their little cutie happy dog and erina wanting him so bad but can’t go and meet the owner because she has to work and she’s far away… and Osomatsu surprises her by going on the journey for him… he is a stubborn princely type dog who is very attatched to erina… Osomatsu would get a little competitive with him.. but they ultimately get along because of their love for erina, also they are animals together

Erina is gyaru who kind of experiments with her style, likes agejo a lot but not totally tied down to it, sexy street fashion mixed with a casual cutsey toony flair.. if that makes sense. she loves cutesy patterns and accessories and colors… she usually show tummy and legs , wearing platformers/pumps/chunky shoes rather than too pointy of heels

First off, big fan of your blog! I read it like a newspaper every day.

What I wanna know is, if the SPN revival ends up happening, what route do you see them taking where they don’t mess with the canon? I think it would’ve worked out fine had Jensen not ret-conned quite a bit with the prequel. Now what? Will TW be considered canon? Is it better to let Sam and Dean rest and just base the revival between 15x19 and 15x20 so the endgame is not impacted? Wanna hear your thoughts specifically.

Also, a lot has happened between SPN’s end and now, and a lot more will happen still before the revival takes place. Speaking in terms of J2 and their friendship and their dynamic, particularly post prequel gate, should we expect to see slight changes in the SamDean dynamic come the revival as well? It can’t possibly be the exact same as how we got used to seeing it s11-s15 with this domestic bliss, we-are-eachother’s-endgame bliss.

The Winchesters was retconned to take place in an AU, so it is irrelevant to the main SPN-verse. Think how the Apocalypse World where Sam and Dean were never born has very little impact on the main SPN-verse. There is a pair of AU Sam and Dean running around in Brazil but again, no impact in the main SPN-verse. So while TW is canon, it is entirely separate from our SPN.

Jared seem to like the idea that 5 years passed between 15x19 and 15x20 so I think there is a fair chance the revival could take place during those 5 years, Since Jared actually looks younger now than he did in season 15, then it can work. (Sidenote: Jared started out looking normal in season 15 but midway through he trained for the marathon and gave himself the gaunt "runner face" that significantly aged him in appearance.)

With Jack remaking heaven and keeping the angels away from earth and Rowena keeping demons away from the Winchesters, the brothers’ hunts return to the simpler days of monster hunting and explore new urban myths.

During these so-called simple monster hunts, Sam and Dean could go deeper into dealing their personal issues, which will draw them even closer leading up to the fateful Barn Scene day. Among the drama I would like to see closure to unresolved arcs, like what happened to Sam power? Where are all the demons that Dean made during his apprenticeship as hell’s torturer? Belphagore opened up that opportunity in season 15, which we also saw clues that not all demons are going to follow Rowena. Then we can have queen Rowena seeking help from the Winchesters to wrangle wayward demons either back into hell or into the Empty.

I expect we will still see the same Sam and Dean dynamic. First, based on the first and second convention after the prequel mess, the J2 magic was still there. Think of the times you haven't seen friends or family members for years and as soon as you re-connect, you immediately fell back into the old dynamics out of habit. Second, Hollywood is like an endless high school. You may not have liked your high school but you find yourself going to every reunion because nobody else in the world know what you’ve experienced other than your classmates even if you hated them back in the day. Many deep and casual relationships are based on shared experiences rather than actual compatibility.

Notes: In which Logan herds his superpowered friendgroup like cats, and much drama is to be had. I keep meaning to give this one a proper re-read, because it's absolutely one of my favorites. Also, Patton's arc is insane.

The Heroes and Villains series by LadyoftheWoods Superhero AU (Gen) Rating: T The Duke has a brutal reputation for destroying the heroes that try to take him down, but recently a young spitfire called Tempest has won a nugget of his esteem. When his young nemesis comes crawling to him, injured and seeking after the Duke's unkindly "mercy", he's ready to raise hell getting to the bottom of it. Notes: As soon as I started thinking about doing a list of Superhero fics, I knew I had to find this one again. As in, I took hours out of my day to trawl through AO3 looking for it. Like Virgil whump? Like protective Remus and Janus? Like reunions and characters coming together to challenge the system? Just...it's good, okay?

The best some can hope for is to find a role within the system and try to play by its rules. Fighting against it is even harder, but for some the fight is worth it. The primary fic in the series (which centers on an intricate and nerve-wracking time loop scenario) is still a WIP, but it looks like it's only about a chapter away from coming to a close.

Left struggling with uncomfortable doubt, he now has questions that only one person might be able to answer... Notes: Another enjoyable superhero dystopia in which Patton learns some ugly truths about the world he lives in and has to make a choice.

Come Now, Little Prince by TheAsexualofSpades Superhero AU (Gen, Roceit, Dukeceit) Rating: G After an incident results in the death of a criminal he was pursuing, Roman is injured and mid-breakdown when he decides to throw himself upon the mercy of an enemy who had once offered him a way out of the game. Notes: Some high-proof Hurt/Comfort. Roman has Trauma and Janus has his hands full keeping him from falling apart.

The Serpent's Snakelets by ChillyKrow Superhero AU (Gen, Anxceit) Rating: T Supervillain by name, philanthropist by action, the Serpent has a lot of plates spinning, most of them full. But that doesn't mean he's about to look the other way when two teens start to frequent the soup kitchen he runs under his civilian identity, clearly in need of some help. Notes: I love this one for the amount of thought and detail that has gone into what Janus is actually doing with his operation. And also what one can actually get away with as a shapeshifter with enough cunning and the right resources.

It's Over Now by remembermeeternally Superhero AU (Gen, Loceit) Rating: G Sent against a villain far above his power to fight, the last thing Roman was expecting was mercy. Or refuge. Or comfort. Or...adoption? Notes: In which, once Janus and his husband learn about the depths of the neglect that his young heroes-in-training have been subjected to, he isn't about to give them back. Consensual kidnapping ensues.

I wanted to be seen by logically_asexual Superhero AU (Loceit) Rating: T Separated from the rest of his team, Logan finds himself confronted by the supervillain, Deceit, resulting in a wager that Logan is sure must turn out in his favor. After all, his teammates wouldn't actually leave him behind... Notes: In which Logan deserves much better and Janus is more than happy to offer it.

Leave All Your Heroes Behind by Magpie_Crow Superhero AU (Gen) Rating: G Patton is an ordinary man, living a rather ordinary life. The most extraordinary thing about him is his job: He works for Make-A-Wish, making arrangements so that children can have their final wishes fulfilled. Then, one day, a child makes the request to meet the notorious villains known as the Terror Twins. But Patton isn't about to let one of his kiddos down if he can help it. Notes: I love stories about regular people who live in superhero settings. You know this sort of thing would happen. And this is just such a sweet story...

Hi anon, thanks for your ask! Great questions (really respect that you went for the meaty one right out of the gate there /pos). Let me start out by not answering your questions at all, and I’ll work my way up to some answers.

I’ve mentioned in other posts that I don’t have a concrete outline in place when I write. There are things that I know will happen in Asymmetrical Warfare, and things that I know absolutely will not. In between all of that, there’s wiggle room, a lot of wiggle room. Something that I love about writing fanfiction is that, to me, it’s this neat form of collaborative story telling. At it’s core, AW is my version of the batfam and the story I want to tell about them, but it’s very much influenced by readers and the fandom at large (mostly via its tumblr presence). Comments on ao3, asks on tumblr, random internet convos, the comics I read, all of it influences how I think about AW. (For example, Harm Reduction basically exists solely in response to ao3 comments.) It brings a complexity and richness to AW that wouldn’t be there if I was alone in a vacuum writing the ‘verse from start to finish.

So, how does that relate to your questions…

will there be a bruce-jason reunion?

I honestly don’t know. Most of AW has the ‘identity porn’ tag attached to it. The ‘identity reveal’ tag doesn’t start coming in to play until the end of what I have sketched out so far. When I think about what comes after that, it’s all fade to black. I can make an educated guess based on core character traits, what’s happened so far, and the fixed events/timepoints I know are coming. But, it’s still open to infinite possibilities. At least until the timeline advances further and more details get locked down. The Storm, the arc that comes after Territorial Disputes (the companion piece to Guerrilla Tactics), is a pretty big inflection point. It’s also, you know, not written yet. 😉

what was their dynamic before jason died?

The granular details here are still evolving in my mind, but it’s built on a backbone of a mixed pre- and post- crisis Bruce and Jason. Jason was adopted at 12. They had a father/son dynamic. Bruce was genuinely trying to be a good dad, and he succeeded a lot of the time. Things got rough later on in Jason’s teenage years.

does bruce treat jason as his greatest failure the way he did in comics?

I’m not sure if you’re referring to how Bruce treated Jason’s memory during the period while Jason was presumed dead in the comics, or how Jason is actually treated post his reappearance in the comics, but here’s what I’ll say with respect to the former and AW. The AW Batcave has a Robin memorial with a ‘good solider’ plaque on it. AW Tim is well versed in the dangers of being reckless via the object lesson that is Jason Todd. Sometimes, late at night, usually after a bottle of whiskey or a dose of the good painkillers, AW Bruce thinks about how his greatest failure in life is actually how he’s chosen to cope with the death of his son.

kai's post-canon verse. so this verse operates under the assumption that canon happens as we know it up until nagant frees chisaki. he armless, ambitionless, hassaikailess. you get the idea. however, the kai that we see in canon with nagant is not the one you'll see written on this blog- and i have a theory as to why he was written that way:

i imagine that horikoshi went a little too hard/too dark on overhaul and this mini-arc (and his end of canon shot) of his was a way to knock him down to a sniveling, pathetic shell of who he was to sort of ease the readers. it's hori going, "dw guys!! the bad guy's pathetic now!" type of thing.

there's no really no chance of kai getting "redemption", either. if he was to get recaptured, it'd be straight back to tartarus for him. there's no big victimization he was a part of, no super sad backstory. kai is a villain who is just bad to be bad - unlike toya, or even tenko. and as such, i tried to make his post-canon verse reflect that.

when this kai is freed by nagant, he does go with her to point out izuku, repaying his debt for her freeing him. once that contract is ended, chisaki leaves the scene, and nagant, deku, and co have their little reunion without him.*

* i am cooking up a separate verse with isa where nagant and kai stay together, rather than nagant getting recaptured.

he's on his own and seeks to reconnect/rebuild the hassaikai. he starts by finding hari, finding those who still have some loyalty to pops/to the hassaikai as a whole, and building from there. the entire operation comes from a place of humility and hard work. kai has prosthetics (with claws)*, is quirkless, and now has to use his skill and leadership to rebuild what he, himself, tore down. he returns to more a more old school yakuza way of thinking, and through his new humility and regaining some sense of humanity, the shie hassaikai is eventually rebuilt under him. this verse will likely be written/interacted with during a time where the hassaikai is known to be coming back under him, but isn't quite to its former glory.

* also, hilariously, overfeet is not completely off the table in this verse. however, to first discover that overhaul is stored in the feet, then to practice enough to get back to the level to fuse himself with new arms, and THEN to actually do so takes quite a bit of time. unless stated, kai will be written with high tech prosthetics.

There was a part of Rick, one little voice buried very deeply that probably belonged to the common sense he had forsaken a long time before, who knew that this was a bad idea. After all, this wasn't the first time that he broke into Clarissa's workshop in the middle of the night either to make a mess or to start a fight or just for the sake of it. Usually what drove him there was spite or misdirected anger or a stronger need to harm himself than the usual. Other times, it was some other, completely randoms reason.

What never changed, however, was how it ended. Whether he was caught red-ended or found out the next day, whether he found her awake or woke her up, whether he knew what he was doing or not, it always ended in the same way.

Yelling, accusations, snarled insults, mutually inflicted pain. What was inevitably left on their tongue was the bitterness of a wound that had healed wrong, scarred into an aching mark that they had never stopped scratch and prodding. Now that their pasts had crossed again even more than ever.

If asked, Rick would have lied and said that he didn't know why he kept doing it, why he kept going back despite knowing what awaited for him. The truth, the same truth he refused to acknowledge, was that Rick enjoyed that particular agony. He liked how its stinging remained behind, haunting the back of his mind. He revelled in how it constricted his chest, making it harder to breathe.

That night, however, was different. He wasn't being driven by resentment or self-loathing or a craving for personal torment. He wasn't even drunk as he usually was. On the contrary, he was just a little tipsy. Intoxicated enough to have the courage of chasing a certain feeling, but not even close to not being in control.

He was self-aware, lucid, and longing.

The room was almost completely dark and Rick stood in his spot for a few moments, waiting for his eyes to adapt now that the vibrant green of the portal had vanished. He could have turned out the night vision function of his cybernetic eye, but he decided against it, knowing that he would be needing those few moments of quietness to steady himself.

Once he started to move, heading for the light that filtered from under the door that lead to the adjacent room, he could couldn't help but grimacing at how loud his steps seemed. He was aware that it was just an illusion that his restless mind was creating, out of nervousness, because he was being quiet, especially compared to how he had been all the other times, clumsy feet hitting the floor too heavily and knocking things down.

Yet, despite that rational awareness, he couldn't help the apprehension that grew a little inside his chest at every noise.

The whispered woosh of the automatic door echoed deafeningly in his ears and he had to shut his eyes closed for a moment, dazed by the sound. Perhaps he was drunker than he had thought. Or maybe he had accidentally taken something without realising it. It wouldn't have been the first time.

Ice blue eyes landed on the figure hunched over one of the work tables, arms crossed on its metal surface and head resting over them. She was asleep, just as Rick had been hoping.

Swallowing lightly, he slowly walked over, careful not to bump into anything. The last thing he wanted was to wake her up. If that had happened, yet another fight would have exploded and he was too tired...so tired...to deal with that sort of crap.

He stopped once he had reached her, keeping a little distance between them not to disturb her slumber. Clarissa looked exhausted, and it was easy to guess that she had been pouring over whatever project she was working on, forgetting to eat and sleep. They had always been very similar under that point of view.

So many shared bad habits, unhealthy behaviours, harmful vices. And they had done nothing but enabling them in each other.

The silence stretched, bothered only by the light sound of their breathing, as he simply stood there, watching her intensely, as if he had been trying to memorise her features and the lines of her body all over again. All the times they had been close, all the times he had seen her bare, all the times he had touched her, smelled her, taste her...Those memories couldn't be used anymore. Not only because of the years that had passed, but mostly because there was one abyssal difference between then and now, a difference that changed everything.

She was no longer his. He had had it, with her strength and her rough beauty and her bright electric fire, and he had lost her. Just as he had lost, over and over, each and every important thing in his life.

A sudden tightness gripped at his stomach, so abruptly and hard that he had to clench his teeth to muffle the startle sound that had come to his lips. It was an odd feeling, but he easily recognised it, as he had felt it many times before. A mixture of suffocating nausea and insatiable anger. The craving for something he yearned for but that he couldn't have, that he shouldn't have.

His hand lingered mid-air, fingers itching to touch those thick blue locks and cling to them as if they had been the last lifeline he had left, but he resisted that urge. Instead, he shuffled closer, as silent as a ghost, and bent down, pressing the lightest, even if lingering kiss on the side of her forehead.

Loving her had been a mistake, especially after how all his other serious relationships had ended. He had willingly drank and drank from a cup that he knew would eventually poison them both, ignoring that they were running on borrowed time.

And looked at them now, all scars and shattered pieces, aching for something that could never be again, if not in the form of bitterness and regret.

Yet, deep down, Rick knew that he would have done it all over again, even knowing how it would end, for the mere sake of experiencing that mind-blowing spark of ecstasy that had once burnt between them.

Slowly, he straightened up, ignoring the growing stinging in his eyes as he turned on his heels to return to the backroom. He couldn't linger, he shouldn't have been there in the first place. No matter how much he wished to stay.

Still, he couldn't stop himself from shooting one last look over his shoulder, once he was on the threshold. No surprise there, because that was what he always did, wasn't it? Dragging the past he was chained to in the present, just to watch it repeating itself over and over again.

One last thought touched his mind as the green vortex swallowed him. Perhaps, Clarissa had been right, all those years before. He was the hypocrite, always judging, always holding himself above everyone else. And yet, all the people he had met and known had moved on, one way or the other.

Everyone but him.

anon they make me insane :'D What i love about them is what makes me very sad too hdkfjdkfj i think a lot about how they are both very much willing to die for each other, i still can't believe that's canon and it happened

I don't know if I want them to show up again in the manga as its ongoing right now, I feel like they're safe doing their own thing until they have to appear again (and Killua is more likely gonna show up again first because the story might tie back to Nanika because she originated from the dark continent). As for what kind of development I hope to see for them...maybe a reunion for them where they both come to terms with what happened during the chimera ant arc. lots of things could happen! lots of them have already been written in fics (and my god, the fics are so good. this is what you get for shipping a popular ship in an old fandom: years and years of gems to read at your own time. I love it here)

One song I associate with both of them is the entire 3 part song of the Lightning Strike by Snow Patrol, I drew fanart of some verses from the first part, but a whole 3 part story is in my head when I listen to it....from a dream that Gon has of seeing Killua shrouded in lightning, to a memory Killua has of following Gon back to whale island for the first time, to an eventual reunion when they grow older :') I will....revisit this idea someday i swear

Linked Universe

Relinked AU: 23 years after Linked Universe, the Links’ kids are kidnapped, forcing the Links on another time-traveling adventure to save them. Meanwhile, the kids go on their own adventure to get home.

Reconnect the Chain AU: AU of Relinked. Taking place 10 years after Linked Universe, the Chain reconnects themselves. It’s my happy, slice-of-lifey version of Relinked. Most drawings or writing I do with the Relinked kids as kids will be tagged as both RtC and Relinked if it’s pre-reunion.

Radio AU: Modern College AU. The Chain are all somehow affiliated with the college radio station at Kakariko University. Hyrule’s a new student who gets dragged into their chaos, and learns a little bit about himself in the process.

Cupcakes for Harmony: Inspired by Their Melody. I looked at Their Melody and said “what if I made it sadder?”

Adventures of Uncle Alfon: Legend’s Uncle has some things to say. A non-linear, slice-of-life fic focusing on Uncle Alfon and his relationship with Legend.

Epic AU: Ongoing brainstorming. Epic: The Musical has inspired a plot in my head but idk what’s happening with it yet. All I really know is it’s another LU Links Reunite fic, plus some.

Second Chain/Ultimate Chain AU: Alternate versions of the same AU. I add some more heroes into the mix! Features The Hero of the Kingdom (TOTK), The Hero of Ages (Age of Calamity), The First Hero (Skyward Sword Manga), The Shadow of the Hero (Four Swords Adventures), The (younger) Hero of Legend (A Link To The Past), and The Hero of the Minish (Minish Cap). Potentially, I may even add the Ancient Hero (Tears of the Kingdom).

Kingdom Hearts

Those Who Have Been Wronged Series: A multi-book series currently in the works. It’s canon-compliant up until the secret ending of KH3. Follows the Foretellers’ arc with Kairi as the main protagonist as she searches for Sora and works to defeat the Master of Masters alongside Ven, Namine, Vanitas, and Lauriam. It does include all the KH characters, and almost everyone gets their own time to shine, but Kairi and co. (The Reflection Crew) is the main group.

Together AU: KH3 onwards AU where everything is wrapped up during KH3. The Union Leaders are here. Eraqus is back. Everyone is (mostly) happy. A soft, slice-of-life series I write when the Wronged Series is getting to overwhelming.

Miscellaneous AUs: Occassionally a KH AU will pop into my head. These aren’t very serious works, just fun ideas.

Tales of the Abyss:

Fire Rises: Mostly vibes at this point, Fire Rises will focus on a cast of 6-7 Unscored (people born outside of the Score) trying to make their lives in a world that still holds onto their hatred for them. Takes place 5-ish years after Tales of the Abyss.

OG-Verse:

The OG-verse is my original world called Auran which shares a good portion of worldbuilding as the Wronged Series and Together AU. It’s where all my KH OCs have gone to live. I have a lot of worldbuilding for this but not a lot of story at the moment.

I’ve been cobbling together a playlist for the Daughters-verse, and so far I’ve finished the Daemon’s Handbook portion. I treated it like I was assembling a movie soundtrack. See below for the author’s rambling explanation of why she chose each song (yes, including some Disney).

Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea: Daemon’s emo boy anthem at the beginning of the fic. (See lyrics: “some princes don’t become kings.”)

You’re Welcome: If this fic was a Disney movie, Daemon would be singing this song when he’s first introduced to his future stepdaughters (while the Targbros eavesdrop in the background because they’re still under the delusion Daemon is cool).

Secret Melody: Nice, sweeping instrumentals for Daemon’s temporarily idyllic life on Dragonstone.

Mother Knows Best: Replace “mother” with “step-kepa” and this is basically Daemon’s entire anti-Targtower lecture to the girls in the first half of the fic. Dragonstone = Rapunzel’s tower.

Message In A Bottle: All the girls and boys sending ravens to each other.

Yakety Sax: The ultimate chase theme music for when Daemon keeps trying to catch Lucera during her escape attempts.

Natural: When Daemon does the mean thing with Luce and Aemond’s letters.

Rude: THE theme song for this whole fic, but it culminates during Jace and Aegon’s elopement. The entire song is about marrying someone’s daughter even though the dad doesn’t like it. It’s perfect and I won’t hear any arguments.

Royalty: When all the adults clash in Chapter 6 about whether to annul the elopement…

O mio babbino caro: …and then Jace swoops in with the winning hand by pulling on Viserys’s heartstrings! (This song is from an opera and it’s about a girl begging her dad to let her marry her love.)

Dance of Dragons: For the scene where Aegon asks to go to the Stepstones, then Aemond follows him. If I was filming this (I know nothing about filming), young!Aegon and young!Aemond would be saying goodbye to Jace, Alicent, etc. at 2:15, then they’d hop on their dragons and disappear into the clouds, then at 2:33 their dragons explode back out of the clouds and suddenly it’s adult!Aegon and adult!Aemond post-time skip flying to Dragonstone. Or something like that idk.

Wild Heart: Sweet little instrumental for the reunions in Chapter 7.

Don’t You Worry Child: For whenever Daemon and Baela have a conversation/scene together. AKA Daemon’s emotional growth theme music.

Flight of the Silverbird: Instrumental when all of the Targaryen dragons are flying above King’s Landing at the end of Chapter 7.

The Tournament: For the wedding tourney, especially Baela’s mystery knight moment.

Slipping Through My Fingers: Mostly for Rhaenyra’s emotions during the wedding preparations in Chapter 8, but Daemon gets to have some of the feels too.

House Velaryon: Wedding parade scene.

La Coronación: A grand and classic-sounding instrumental for the wedding scene.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This): Daemon’s fever dream from when he gets wasted at the wedding feast to when he suddenly remembers his blacked-out memories about Luce and Aemond in Chapter 9.

7 Years: Daemon’s big blow-out with Rhaena and then Luce in Chapter 10, and remorse for his actions hits him really hard. (See lyrics: “only those I really love will ever really know me,” and also “soon I’ll be 60 years old, will I think the world is cold? Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me?”)

Wasting My Young Years: Daemon is feeling really sorry for himself near the end of Chapter 10 while he hangs out with Joff. Also he feels old.

Daemon and Rhaenyra: For their heart-to-heart at the end when they talk about the kind of world they want to leave for their children.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life): Daemon’s last big decision in this fic: let Lucera think Aemond set the trap, or find out the truth? He chooses the latter, and that leads to the fic’s happy ending, his mending relationship with the girls, and the culmination of his character arc. Daemon in Chapter 1 would never have made that choice, but that’s why we have emotional growth in stories.

Heroes (We Could Be): End credits music, because Daemon has redeemed himself.
