She held his gaze. “You’ve seen things that would put fear in gods even. So, again I ask: what is it you want? If you truly wish to see me, well…you’ve come at the right time. Winter is near, and on the solstice, perhaps I’ll reveal my true form. Maybe that will be enough to quench your curiosity?”

The outsiders called them The Archon, the removed and unknowable ruler of the Asteri. But its children called it Mathira, Mother of Souls, Gaurdian of The Stars, The One Who Existed Before, The Shadow of The Universe, The Force that Wound Between Worlds.

It preferred Mathira if anyone had been wondering. It cared for these things, little fluttering butterflies that had suckled at its form long before it had noticed them.

It was growing weary of being awake, of the scrimmages and the bloodlust it could see in its children.

Perhaps it was growing bored of shepherding then too. It wasn't meant to have form and subsistence like this.

It gazed down at the new batch of orphans, four little females. The smallest one cried but the other three didn't. One of them even barred her teeth at it.

As it reached for the middle one, the biggest one it lunged bitting its finger. It turned to the third in line. The one dressed in tatters like the others but with bits of gold still clinging to it.

It pulled its finger away reaching for the gold filigree on the dress. The girl didn't pull away only stepped closer. She only pointed to the little bouble hanging from its waist. A gift or ward of protection from another child. It trades it with the gold the girl ripped away.

These four would do nicely.

Carmila, Striga, Morana and Lenore would lead their siblings in a new age. They would bring an era peace.

It could finally rest again.

It sat on the throne, watching Carmila as she stood by her side. She surveyed the ball before turning to her.

The Archon rose an eyebrow at her daughter.

"Do you not find any male here to your liking?"

"Why would I? They're all so dull Mama. Besides I don't know which is worth my time - I rather not have it wasted."

She rose her chin, her gold braid twinkling in the light.

"Why can't I have a child the old way? This new way appears barbaric."

"The old way lead to more deaths than births. You lost knowledge the old way, and if you shattered you lost even more memories. This way everyone survives and knowledge lasts. Though I suppose I could find a way to link you all. A different tune or calling? Some resonance or frequency that would bring the best potential matches together."

It hummed tapping its arm when it felt another for its daughters peering at her. Morana gazed at her, her eyes wide.

"Can you really do that Mama? Can you teach me? I want to help!"

The wonders of the gifts their mother gave them, the promise of the life they built. It had been a much different world before they had appeared before them, a tenderness it showed them had helped her and her sisters grow.

Morana couldn't help but smile at the promise of a new gift, the idea that there would be a way to find their best potential match. To no longer have to wade through the many to find the one, to hope you made the right choice.

Morana thought this was going to be the end of the fight, that they had gotten what Sibyl needed. However when the stranger vanished and Aries was put in his place... a whole other thing ensues.

"VACADATH! CALL IT OFF! CALL IT OFF! VACADA-!"

Aries would yell, looking like he was about to jump out if his skin with as he looked at all the hands on him before what looked to be a ribcage snaps around him with the ends of the ribs digging into his flesh.

It didn't like the beam of energy shot at it as the it made a rattling sound asking to rage, Aries would didn't get a chance to make much of a noise as the beam scorched him, when it stopped a cough sound came from the twitching? scorched body of Aries starts regenerating. The beast dissappears, clearly not happy with what had just happend.

Brutivari would be down for a bit by the looks of it. When the doppelganger grabbed the death goddess by her neck she was unfazed, uncaring that the opponent had her.

"Don't you know it's rude to grab someone's neck without introducing yourself? Especially rude to do such to a goddess of death is it not?"

She would say as her hands go up and grab the arm of the one holding her, Vacadath would now let her magic energy flow, a menacing black energy coming off her.

"Oh well, Sibyl will be happy to play with your corpse~."

They proved harder to defeat than Ragnar. The difference in strength was there. But they had better skills than the asshole. Curiosity crept into his mind. But it was quickly pushed aside. With so many skeletal hands grabbing at his body, this was no time to be curious. However, he was as calm as ever, even as the hands held him motionless. Sadala's mightiest would not fall so easily. There will not be a song of victory sung here, for there has been a change in whom the skeletal hands are holding.

It was also possible to change places with something or someone using the technique of teleportation. And that was what had just happened, he stood with his arms crossed, while the God of War was now the one held by the spell. But not a second was wasted. The arms came down to his side. Ki concentrated into a single point between his cupped hands, before a thrust of his hands.

A beam of light of unprecedented size and explosive energy was shot forward. Something that would make a tsunami seem small in comparison to the incredible size of the golden ray of light that was shot towards the god of war. Funny how his allies' spells turned against him. Now, would the same spell be the reason he was going to be burned alive?

There was a small spark of excitement in the warrior's dark-gray irises. All because these were opponents he had no idea how to deal with. He was in the process of learning by doing, like a Saiyan would. But to be certain, there would be no way for the God of War to escape.

An apparition of a living person not only appeared at his side. It immediately jumped onto the woman. As if she weighed nothing, a hand wrapped around her neck and lifted her off the ground. To the Saiyan doppelgänger, she was weightless. He managed to control enough of his strength to avoid accidentally breaking her neck.

He still did not intend to kill them, but they needed a little more to be completely submissive to him. Especially that idiot god of war, a personality who would still bark even after a crushing defeat.

YES ABOUT CARMILLA.

Honestly something that pisses me off in crossovers like the Castlevania anime is

Dracula gets woobified, he is a tragic man, a widower who is suffering the loss of the love of his life

Carmilla is now basically Book Dracula. She's pure evil, she's conniving, she's a traitor, she's got big ambitions of grandeur. Except she's also a sexy seductress of men.

The male vampire gets the woobification, the complex backstory, the tragic torment, and the female one gets her evil amped up and stripped of her interesting traits. I mean, good for her being sexy and evil, but if you are going to do this all while making the male characters three-dimensional, I will not ignore your choices.

(You can see this even with the Dracula girls, Lucy so often becomes a woman who is too sexual for her own good so she gets punished, Mina gets almost turned because she just wants this man too much... meanwhile we learn that he turned because he just loved too much or got assaulted or he felt abandoned by God and often dies redeemed by the hand of the one who loves him. Why are the vampiric girls becoming a shallow prop, while the vampire man gets their complexity, their suffering, their tragedy?)

Oh yeah, it's another one of those things where the adaptation of the Victorian (and Regency) literature becomes more sexist than the original work (see: Irene Adler, rip, another incredible character who gets the Lucy and Mina treatment 🤮)

I consider Carmilla to be one of the very first maybe-sympathetic vampires, because everything about her is so ambiguous and mysterious. Was she just a vampire faking everything to lure her prey, or were any of her feelings of affection for Laura genuine? What about her many gloomy musings on the nature of life and death? She could go either way, any way, and while there are little hints of similar with Dracula (his "i too can love" and "wind breathes cold" speeches) he's much more unambiguously a ruthless villain.

I feel like the Castlevania show split Carmilla's book characteristics between her vampire girl posse; show-Carmilla got her cruelty, Striga and Morana got her lesbianism, and Lenore got her demure femininity. My biggest issue with show Carmilla is that she's all about how much she hates men, where book Carmilla was utterly indifferent to men, her passionate fixation with women was much more a focus of her character.

I love the Castlevania show but it operates in a very different 'dark fantasy universe' space, I don't really consider it to be attempting to be a canon adaptation at all.

Biografia completa

O mundo jamais fora um lugar gentil para Minah Slivka, mas, ironicamente, sua primeira lembrança era de uma noite tranquila, um toque suave em sua testa e um sussurro de despedida que ela nunca entenderia completamente. Era sua mãe que, naquela última noite, prometera mundos que a filha jamais conheceria, envolvida numa história de traições e cobiças que Minah, criança, mal podia imaginar. O destino, no entanto, já estava marcado em sangue e velhos ressentimentos.

Desde pequena, Minah aprendera que o nome Zhao carregava tanto peso quanto o seu sangue Slivka. Sua mãe, Nayeon, filha de uma linhagem que perdera tudo após acusações de heresia, foi relegada ao papel de concubina do Duque Aleksandr Slivka, em uma posição subalterna que a sociedade observava com olhares de desprezo. Ainda que o futrico sobre a lealdade da fé dos Zhao tenha diminuído após o casamento bem sucedido, Minho sabia que não possuía o respeito sequer de seu cunhado, que embora o convidasse para noitadas nos bares da elite, sempre o interrompia quando surgia com suas ideias visionárias. “acho que já bebeu demais, cunhadinho” era sempre o que dizia, rindo com seus amigos aristocratas e invalidando a opinião do Zhao, que apenas concordava, alegando estar falando bobagens, mas que sentia extrema ira por ser banalizado daquela forma. Possuía ideais ousados, de fato, mas tinha consciência de que não eram besteiras. E ser ridicularizado daquela forma apenas aumentou suas aspirações (bem pouco realistas) de tornar-se rei. Algo que lhe fora prometido quando estabeleceu uma aliança com o Khaganato de Uthdon.

Então veio a tragédia, o estopim que moldaria para sempre Minah. O pai e a mãe foram mortos em circunstâncias nebulosas, um ato que, segundo o tio, era obra dos governantes de Aldanrae — uma facada nas costas para obter controle sobre as terras e recursos dos Slivka, como ele lhe disse. Minah, com a fúria e a dor ainda pulsantes, ouviu as explicações e jurou em silêncio uma vingança. O Império arrancara-lhe os pais e a deixara à mercê de uma vida de solidão e rancor. E com o passar dos anos, sob a orientação de Minho, esse juramento se transformou em uma chama ardente e incessante.

Minah foi enviada para Hexwood, onde aprenderia a canalizar o poder que corria em suas veias. Contudo, havia um propósito maior por trás dessa decisão; o tio, sagaz como sempre, viu na aliança das escolas uma oportunidade para infiltrar Minah entre os changelings, a raça misturada que ele desprezava, mas cuja utilidade estratégica ele reconhecia. E foi com a unção das instituições que instruiu Minah a criar alianças com os híbridos, e a usar esse convívio para infiltrar-se ainda mais no sistema.

A cada ano, sob o peso do legado dos Zhao e dos Slivka, Minah tornava-se uma mestra em ocultar suas intenções, em esconder a verdade sob uma máscara de pragmatismo e controle. Ela aprendera, desde cedo, que a confiança era um luxo e que o mundo não possuía espaço para fracos. Poucos conheciam a profundidade de sua dor e menos ainda eram capazes de perceber o quanto a perda de seus pais ainda corroía seu coração. Mas Minah não hesitava, e na frente de todos mantinha-se altiva, refinada, em um desempenho calculado de indiferença.

O que Minah não percebia, no entanto, era que o laço com o tio não era um de lealdade recíproca, mas de manipulação e controle. Ela, que acreditava estar conquistando o poder e prestígio para vingar a família, era, na verdade, um peão para os próprios interesses do tio.

Photography and explanation by Darja Bilyk "This is our interpretation of Mara, the Slavic goddess of death and rebirth, reigning over the harsh winter season, her eyes white as snow. She was depicted as a cruel and fearsome spirit, who caused suffering and misfortune to those in her path. Morana was said to bring the cold and darkness of winter, which was also a time for rest and reflection.

But Mara is not just a bringer of death and suffering. She was also seen as a source of new life, for with winter came the promise of spring, a time of renewal and growth. She represents the natural cycle of life, a reminder that everything must come to an end to make way for new beginnings. Her winter rule is a time of rest, of letting go and making peace with what has passed.

So let us not fear Mara, but embrace her teachings. For in her embrace, we find the solace of acceptance and the promise of rebirth."

Dracula wanted to wipe out all humans? Well, he sure got his wish. Lenore wasn't there when it happened, but did hear from some survivors how a virus appeared across the land. Infecting humans who died with this virus that reanimates them into zombies, while in turn doing the same to vampires, who were already undead, so the virus worked through them rapidly.

Lenore heard how Dracula along with his human servants and his council, including Carmilla who never made it to her kingdom. Lenore had Morana and Striga gather as many survivors as possible. Both humans and vampires, while they try to find a way to stop the virus. While it is true, they could just keep the humans as cattle for their blood, Lenore knew, if they become infected, they'll be out of food, & possibly turn the vampires next.

Lenore had some of her guards save your muse from a group of zombies, before they brought your muse to her. "You don't look like one of the locals from around these parts. Who are you? And where did you come from?"
