His Light in the Darkness

A soft white curl slid on her cheek, brushing it lightly as the teal eyes moved from up to down. The love of his life inhaled deeply and when the air waffled out the curl quivered on her skin. There has been so much that has gone into today. Laxus has asked so many people for help. Mirajane, Erza, Cana, even Lucy, Levy and Wendy. He needed it to be perfect. He knows you’ve been down and stressed, and he couldn’t bare to see you that way anymore.

So when you come into the guild hall after everyone’s gone home just like he asked and he sees the shining smile on your face, everything feels like it will be okay. Warmth filled his chest and his lungs squeeze so unbelievably tight at your expression, the child like wonder and adoration.

There’s flowers, candles and floating lights all around and soft music playing from somewhere. He’s got a lovely dinner set for the two of you and the gesture has tears teasing the corners of your eyes. The real tears wouldn’t come until after the meal. He gets up and holds his hand out to you and the heat that fills your face is unrivaled. As he holds you in his arms he pressed a soft kiss to your temple.

“Mira taught me the recipe. Lucy taught me the dance. Y’know, ‘cause she grew up fancy.” He sounded so nervous. “Some of the other girls helped me make the place all nic—”

“Thank you. Laxus, this is so incredible. You didn’t have to do all this for me.” His features get so soft then, softer than you’ve ever seen them, and his eyes hold all the love ever made in the universe.

“For you, I would do anything.”
