💭 + facial hair!

ace  is  able  to  grow  easily  hair  on  his  chest,  on  his  arms,  legs  ...  his  worst  spot  is  the  beard.  even  growing  a  coarse  stubble  is  quite  a  feat  if  he  would  shave  his  jaw,  which  is  why  ace  actually  rarely  does  it.  but  of  course,  his  mustache  is  the  easiest  to  grow.  though  ace  actually  makes  sure  to  shave  the  hair  above  his  lip  because  he  has  seen  pictures  of  his  father,  he  doesn't  want  to  look  or  resemble  him.  once  he  sees  or  feels  a  little  hair  poking  out  ?  he's  rushing  to  get  a  razor.  he  also  thinks  he  looks  quite  ridiculous  with  a  mustache  himself.  when  he  was  traveling  he  could  only  cut/shave  his  hair  with  his  hunting  knife,  and  while  he  was  in  prison  he  grew  quite  a  sizable  wisp  of  hair  over  his  lip.  

boiling  it  down  to  the  point,  ace  feels  really  uneasy  when  it  comes  to  growing  a  mustache.  he  is  quite  sympathetic  as  far  as  beards  go,  a  small  goatee  even  but  when  he  sees  hair  peeking  above  his  lip,  he  feels  like  he's  looking  at  roger,  the  one  he  had  seen  in  photos,  old  wanted  posters.  ace  doesn't  even  know  what  that  feeling  is.  he  just,  doesn't  want  to  resemble  his  biological  father  in  any  way.  it  angers  him,  frustrates  him.  he  continues  to  carry  the  same  emotional  burden,  the  depression  associated  with  roger  and  his  childhood.  that's  why  it's  so  hard  to  even  run  from  that,  after  years.  because  no  matter  what,  the  apple  doesn't  fall  far  from  the  apple  tree. the mustache gives him a very weird ache in his heart. maybe he doesn't want it because of what happened or maybe he just wanna silence the guilt of doing so because rouge was always calling him the prettiest child and that he looks so much like his dad.

OPINION ON TRUE LOVE : despite his general skepticism, he knows it’s real. his parents and siblings loved him and loved each other. ‘true love’ isn’t just reserved for romance. it just takes work.

OPINION ON LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT : bullshit

HOW ROMANTIC ARE THEY ? : not... really? at least in the expected sense? like. he might not do some candlelit dinner or pick a traditionally romantic date setting, but he’ll make you warm comfort food if he notices you’re down or make sure the living space is clean so you don’t have to stress about it. his love language (as far as giving goes) is definitely acts of service. so if you find that romantic: there u go.

IDEAL PHYSICAL TRAITS : that your eyes light up when you get passionate about something that’s important to you, and you don’t hold back on expressing that passion.

UNATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS : arrogance. being too forward (he needs space). a habit of lying. hints you’re willing to drop loyalty to someone if it benefits you. materialism. being too high energy (he’s very tired). and connected to that, being too loud.

IDEAL DATE : just one-on-one time. that’s all. y’all could even be in the same room each doing your own thing and he’d be perfectly content with that. it’s not a ““date”“ but you get the idea.

DO THEY HAVE A TYPE ? : if you’ve been through shit but still choose to approach the world with warmth, tenderness and sincerity, he respects the hell out of you. so i guess you could say that’s ““his type”“.

AVERAGE RELATIONSHIP LENGTH : difficult to say, since even getting to a “relationship” stage is going to be a while. assume he’s always in for the long haul unless it becomes obvious things aren’t working out.

since CC was talking sleep HCs, i’ve likely mentioned this before but--as an ‘unfortunate’ and subconscious side effect of the dogs--dol definitely starfishes in his sleep and tends to fall into the most uncomfortable looking positions of all time, varying on the furniture (if any) that he’s sleeping on.

the man will fall asleep in your ‘normal’... idk, sleeping on his side or back position but after maybe an hour you’ll walk back in and find him lying with his head shoved back at an odd angle, one leg over the back of the sofa, one arm slung out over the armrest, and pretzel-ed to one side. this is a good sign in a way, though, because it means he fell asleep in an environment he feels safe in. if he’s in a more guarded state of sleep, he’ll be more curled up and is more likely to be dozing than actually... sleeping.

the weird sleeping positions can sometimes result in chainsaw-level snoring, so maybe just chuck a pillow at him from a safe distance (disclaimer: i am not responsible for any injuries that may result in actually taking this so-called advice; play stupid games, win stupid prizes as the kids say).

You can ask for taking suggestive/smut turn, if prompt allows it (for example taking a bath together). Since it’s not going to be very detailed, I can write for male reader as well, but making it gender neutral in smut case will be impossible, Im afraid.

Will be written as gender neutral as possible (you can ask for different gender, if it’s significant for your idea). If it’s requested to be suggestive/smut, I’ll take female reader as default (once again, I can make an exception here and write for male as well).

Feel free to add details (like the way you want the scene to go) or gender of reader, if being more specific is somehow significant for the scene (for example: patching up a wound will look the same for chubby or skinny reader but holding hands will be different if Reader is shy etc).
