Just a little roleplay etiquette housekeeping!

tl;dr:

Don't harass, abuse or suicide bait real people ooc.

Roleplay can get very intense, try to tag comprehensively and negotiate boundaries ooc.

Let someone know if their tags break.

You can stop a roleplay anytime you need to or want to.

If someone ignores your ooc boundaries, block them.

You don't need a reason to block someone.

Firstly, ooc we should always treat each other with respect, dignity and kindness. We don't harass one another, we don't abuse one another, and we absolutely do not encourage harm to each other.

No matter what happens inside a roleplay, no matter if we think we're right, no matter if we think a person deserves it, no matter what:

Do not abuse real people.

I specify real or ooc here because yes, roleplay can get pretty dark and that's okay too.

Roleplay can involve a lot of dark and intense themes, and it's part of what makes writing so good, but we also need to make sure the audience (readers) and our roleplay partners (writers) have tools to keep themselves safe and withdraw consent if they need to.

Tagging is a big part of this, and if in doubt, I always say tag. But it's not infallible: sometimes we miss a tag, or forget, or tumblr eats the tags, these things happen! We can help each other out by reminding or requesting a tag, and then scrolling past.

However, more important than tagging is communication and boundary setting. Even if it doesn't seem like it, roleplay involves a lot of behind-the-scenes communication and ooc consent!

If you're unsure if a plot point is too intense, ask ask ask.

"I don't want to rp this story" is a complete and final sentence.

Remember that saying 'stop' ic isn't the same as saying it 'ooc', though!

(This is even more the case with morally grey, or even villain characters. Asking the Joker not to dip someone in acid may or may not work, but asking his writer should always be a sure thing!)

For example;

If I'm writing with a Joker and Batman is beating the snot out of him, and the Joker yells stop, Batman might not stop- but if the mun says stop, we stop.

From there, the Joker's mun and I could talk about if we wanted to change the direction of the roleplay, or even if we just wanted to end it there- or if we want to retcon it and delete the whole thread!

The Joker Mun could even choose to block me here if I've made them so uncomfortable they don't feel safe roleplaying with me. It is always okay to block.

And if someone doesn't listen to you when you say stop, you absolutely can and should block.

1. MUN INFO.

hiya ! mun is 21+ and in eastern standard time (utc+5). i’ve been writing for over a decade. i am a full-time student with two jobs. safe to say i’m up to my knees in work quite often. this blog runs on queue & i am heavily inactive on tumblr — discord is the best place to reach me. expect thread replies 1-2x a week. i am highly selective & will rarely reply to unsolicited rp requests in tumblr dms.

2. WRITING PREFERENCES.

i am a literate, multi-para to novella writer (500 - 4000 words). you do not have to match length, but please give me something tangible to work with! third person, past tense, proper capitalization and grammar. i have severe visual impairment — overly stylized text is incredibly difficult for me to read. i do not roleplay on dash for this reason and likely never will. discord only.

i have few limits and triggers. however, i will not write trauma porn for the sake of it. i appreciate dead dove and dark topics when they have a narrative purpose, as is often the case with my own muses. everything is always up for discussion besides explicit non-con & underage between our muses.

i am comfortable writing nsfw or simply fading to black. it’s your preference. however, i do not write nsfw just for the sake of it or as the entire plot in itself. i prefer some substance to things just to sustain my own interest.

i write all pairings and dynamics: m/f, f/f, m/m, and non-binary characters aplenty. as a lesbian, f/f plots have a special place in my heart. i am very picky about picking up m/m plots and while it is something i write, it will be much more rare i ever do so. i also love non-romantic plots, so feel free to suggest platonic or familial connections too!

i do love lesser utilized fcs & fcs of color. i will often prioritize using them myself, so it’s highly unlikely i will play a wanted face for you if it’s a highly well-known actor — i am not a beacon of tailor-made, well-curated self-insert erotica. i do often come with pre-existing muses, and it is rare i will come up with someone new for our plot (unless i really like you lol).

3. GENERAL GUIDELINES.

please do not spam me — i am very busy, this is a hobby, and i hate to feel like our plot is a chore. i’m usually very good about ooc chitchat and maintaining replies on a weekly basis. however, i can get unexpectedly very busy. after two weeks of no reply, feel free to bump me. otherwise, please be understanding! i will also bump you if there’s been no reply for ~2 weeks, and will assume no response = you’ve dropped the plot. chronic ghosters (we’ve replotted 2+ times to no avail) will be blocked.

mun ≠ muse. i do not believe what is written in fiction translates into someone’s true character (except for certain subjects). i understand certain topics can make people uncomfortable. please be open + honest with me about triggers and limits!

i do not write with writers who solely prefer to play female muses (unless you are an f/f only blog). it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. i will block users who send me unsolicited dms or like my ads without reading my rules & only write female muses. similarly, if you dm me faceclaim-chasing a male muse i will not engage + block.

i do not double-up. please do not ask — it’s uncomfortable to feel like we’re only writing because we “owe” one another something, and not for the enjoyment of the hobby. goading, baiting, begging and/or guilt-tripping me into doubling will get you blocked.

i will block folks who only write with “cisgender females” or engage with similar terf rhetoric.

i will block smut-centric blogs who post misogynistic kink.

NAME OF MUSE(s) : Cyno is the overlord of the blog, with my Sephiroth sideblog as the strongest second. With that said, I have many other muses from other fandoms. Currently they are on a by-request basis, but I might throw them in the dash if the mood strikes!

BEST EXPERIENCE : This is tough because it cannot really be replicated on Tumblr, but group roleplay on FFXI and FFXIV is where my heart is at. I truly miss roleplaying the game story with a colorful cast of friends.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS :

- Trivializing my character's challenges. I do not mind writing with powerful characters with all sorts of abilities, but if you go out of your way to make your character effortlessly rid mine of his problems or adversities he's currently facing (such as insta-healing him when he's down for the count), I won't be happy. Make sure your character's actions have a greater purpose than just showing off what he or she can do.

MUSE PREFERENCES: Canon filler. This is the words I use to describe plotting and writing events that can believably fill holes in a muse's canon timeline without contradicting the lore. I also love to write story divergences that may result from canon filler plots! Overall, I am a sucker for going back in time and tell the story of our characters from their childhood and upbringing.

PLOTS OR MEMES : Both~ Memes are great for icebreakers, and often get the juices flowing to plot bigger stuff!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Both! The length of my replies varies with the pace of the scenes. Combat and arguments are quick paced and will therefore create shorter replies. But if your muse does or says something that will kick mine into deep self-reflection, you can expect a multi-paragraphs post.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : I find that inspiration strikes me best late at night, just before bedtime. Not good for my 9-5 working schedule but what can I do? xD

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : Not much. Some muses have certain aspects in their story that resonate with me personally, but it's never a 100% relatable situation. Experience taught me that the best way to keep IC and OOC separate is to write muses as far removed from yourself as possible, and I try to stay true to that lesson.

Our roleplay group is looking for new members to portray players from the DBD universe in an extensive, forum-based, literate RP involving all canon characters. Interested participants must:

Have basic knowledge of the lore

Be able to post at least once every 20 days

Be able to meet a post minimum of ~250 words (longform RP)

The activity level of this blog could best be described as sporadic as I work full time and struggle with health issues. Discord is the most consistent way to get in touch with me. If we are mutuals please feel free to ask for my Discord.

THE MUN

My name is Dizzy Blizzy, I am over the age of 25 and any pronouns work for me! I work from home on the night shift so it may look like I am perpetually online. When most people are active I am generally on the clock so my replies both OOC and IC may be a bit sporadic.

In my spare time I love playing video games, watching movies and working on my movie script! I also really enjoy working on music playlists and mood boards inspired by characters.

INTERACTING

For my personal comfort I will not be roleplaying with anyone under the age of eighteen. I also will not write ships with anyone under the age of 21. If I suspect that you are lying about your age I will hardblock you.

If I follow you I want to interact! I will generally attempt to reach out by sending in memes. I also have an interest tracker for those that do not feel comfortable reaching out directly! Filling it out is not required in the slightest and I also post starter calls fairly regularly.

I want all of my followers to feel comfortable. If I have done something to prevent that I would like to know so I can take steps to not repeat the mistake. However, if you would feel more comfortable breaking mutuals with me I would completely understand. Please hardblock me if that is the case. Otherwise, I may assume that Tumblr was being silly and refollow.

TRIGGERS & BLOG THEMES

Many dark themes will be making an appearance on this blog. I will do my absolute best to tag them all but please be mindful of them if you follow.

Here is a list of the triggers and themes that will be appearing on this blog: clowns, obsession, violence, gore, death, abuse, torture, indoctrination, cults and cannibalism. If you have any specific trigger that is not listed but you need it to be tagged please reach out to me so I can do so.

With the list of triggers and themes alongside the fact that I write many villains, it is important that I note that muse does not equal mun. The actions and beliefs of my muses do not reflect my own.

Topics that I will not write are the common ones: pedophilia, incest, beastiality & I am sure that there are a few others I will not write.

SHIPS & NSFW

I am extremely ship friendly! I love ships of all varieties ranging from the sugary sweet dynamics to toxic ships. Beyond ships I love any and all dynamics that can crop up between muses so if you do not want to ship do not worry! I'm sure that we can come up with some fun dynamics between our muses.

I will never force a ship nor will I approach first for a ship unless I am extremely comfortable with you. If you are interested in shipping please reach out so we can discuss specifics.

Just because I write toxic ships does not mean I condone them in real life. The themes and dynamics born of such relationships are interesting to explore. That said, I will most likely only write such ships with muns that I am very comfortable with.

I do enjoy writing NSFW with muns that I am comfortable with! This content can range from gore to sexual scenes. I generally will not take such RPs to Discord unless requested by my partner. Any NSFW content will be placed under a readmore and tagged as NSFT.
