our ragtag group of damaged children are the epitome of 'trouble'; and merlin's beard are we proud of it. nothing has ever felt so good as watching fucking filch fall flat on his face, or setting things on fire behind the herbology shed. our first few years of school are really just spent being kids, because for most of us, we never fucking got to. and then moldy voldy comes back, and draco's parents are death eaters, and so are blaise and pansy's, constantly trying to get them to join up, to fight 'for the cause.' so we all go off the rails. because who the hell is going to stop us? theo's our weed hookup, only to find out he's in love with some random hufflepuff, jaden, and helps him grow the shit. he never lives it down. draco and blaise sneak in so much fire whiskey at the beginning of school in fifth year that we could get drunk every night for three months. but don't worry; we moderate ourselves... mostly. mattheo always has the best cigarettes, thank the gods, and pansy can get her hands on any drug we want, something mattheo utilizes a bit too much for a time. we all fight a lot, but if you fuck with one of us... oh, you'd better pray to every god you've never heard of. no one fucks with my friends but me. and, unfortunately, that extends to my brother's friends, too, because we can't have the great harry potter getting sad, now can we? plus, if he gets upset, draco turns into a fucking prick, because at some point he started shagging my brother, the little fucking traitor.

in fourth and fifth year, sneak out almost every night, much to harry's chagrin. because merlin fucking forbid 'the boy who lived' is slightly upset on fucking occasion. he can kiss my ass for all i care, and i've told him so. i spent our entire childhoods protecting him from the worst of everything, from the most disgusting parts of vernon and petunia, and he thinks he has the right to tell me how to live my life? but all in all, in the end of everything, harry is the reason i get clean, and sober, and straight. because he needs someone fighting by his side in this goddamn war. does it fuck things up with mattheo for a while? of course it does, because he's still processing trauma that isn't even his, yet he's had to take that and everything else on, on top of finding out that his father is voldemort. he takes a lot longer to clean up his act, but for me, losing sirius is all it takes to set me straight. i can drink after i kill bellatrix lestrange. and as much as i resent harry for things he never did, i love him more than i've ever loved anything. i would burn the world down for him; it took theo taking my wand, plus mattheo, raven, blaise, pansy, and draco holding me down when hagrid carried harry's 'body' to hogwarts before the battle to stop me from charging the entirety of the death eaters. i would have, too, and i would have used whatever unforgiveable curses i needed to avenge my brother. my brother. gods, he's an idiot, but he's my fucking idiot, and no one but me hurts him and gets away with it.

♡  pairing: jaden Hossler  x fem!reader ♡  summary: you meet Jaden at your birthday party. You’re not a party person so when Tara throws you a surprise birthday party, you're not a happy camper. You’re not very social so half of the people (more like 90%) that showed up you didn’t know. Not even halfway through you needed a break of the noise and the people. You weren’t the only one. ♡  wordcount: 450 ♡  warnings: reader smokes, partying, drinking. (drink responsibly, kids and don’t smoke!)

The cold air greeted your face. It was a pleasant feeling that you were in dire need for.. You scared yourself a little when you looked to your left. A few feet away from you sat a guy. A guy you had never seen before like pretty much everyone else at this party. 

“You don’t mind, right?” You asked sheepishly. 

“Oh, no,” he gestured his hands to the chairs around him. “Go ahead.”

You gave him a tight-lipped smile. Once you sat down, you grabbed a pack of cigarettes from your pocket. Quickly lighting one and taking a drag. All the while, the guy hadn’t stopped looking at you. 

“That’s not good for you, you know,” He said without malice.

“Neither is cursing they say,” You smiled at him, “But fuck it.”

He smiled back at you. Behind him, you could still hear the loud bass coming from the soundboxes. You took another drag.

“I’m Jaden, by the way,”

“Y/n,” You replied simply.

“No way,” He sat up straight, one hand leaning on his thigh. “Not Birthday girl, y/n.”

“Well,” You laughed lightly, “I suppose so.”

“Happy birthday,” He leaned back, his eyes still trained on you. 

After a small thanks, the two fell into silence. He never looked away. Surprisingly, it didn’t freak you out. Hell, you hadn’t even noticed. Too cooped up in your mind. 

“So, birthday girl,” He spoke up out of nowhere.  “If this is your birthday party, why are you outside? Not enjoying it?”

You took a deep breath. “No, I’m not a party person actually,”

He looked at you confused. 

“Oh,” You laughed lightly, waving it away. “Tara set this up. I might’ve let it slip that I never had a birthday party before.”

“Aah,” Jaden nodded his head.

You sighed leaning back in your chair. It was no lie you were annoyed.

“It’s a big deal here,” He said. “Tara’s parties are always the best.”

“I know,” You said, “That’s why I can’t just leave you know. God, I don't want to know how much she spent on this.”

“Yeah, you can’t,” He smirked slightly.

“Goddamnit,” You cursed with a smile, “I was really hoping you’d tell me that I could just leave.”

He laughed at this too.

“Oh, there you are!” The loud voice of Tara disrupted the peace of the outside. “It’s time for your birthday cake, y/n.”

You smiled at her, you felt completely regenerated to pretend to enjoy the party again. 

With big steps, your friend grabbed you by the arm and dragged you away inside. 

Before you were fully swept away you looked back and smiled at Jaden. Not knowing when you’d see him again.

Yes, they are enemies and yes, Slade does finds out about their pup! It’s entirely on accident because no one knows who Jaden’s father is :3 I don't wanna spoil too much of how Slade will act when he learns about Jaden but have a snippet from the scene where the truth comes out!!

“Jaden, baby.” Dick began quietly, running his hand through the pup’s hair. “I need you to stay very still and very quiet now, alright?” “Mama?” Jaden whispered. Dick hummed softly in answer, “Everything’s fine, puppy, I promise. Just for a moment, yeah?” Little hands grabbed tightly at the leg of his pants and he could feel Jaden rub his cheek against his hip as the boy nodded. Slade Wilson took a few more steps before stopping in front of them. A smirk climbed onto his lips as he looked Dick over lazily and the omega had to clench his teeth to stop himself from growling when Slade’s gaze stopped on Jaden, half hidden behind his leg. “Well.” Slade drawled out. “Isn’t this a sight?”

There was a quiet gasp and before Dick was able to move, Jaden let go of his leg and threw himself forward. Dick wasn’t able to breathe, even as a string of curses formulated in his thought and he tried to grab his pup but Jaden was too fast. The pup slammed into Deathstroke’s leg with a smile. Slade looked down at him calmly and merely raised an eyebrow when Jaden wrapped his arm around his thigh. “I’m not supposed to talk right now.” Jaden informed Slade in a whisper, cupping a hand to his mouth to let the man hear him better. “Jaden!” Dick cried out, rushing over to them. He wasn’t sure what he’d do but he knew one thing – he will tear Slade’s throat out if he hurts his pup. Dimension travel or not, Dick wasn’t going to let anyone hurt his baby and if Slade was stupid enough to try- “Oh?” Slade allowed, cupping the back of Jaden’s head. Dick stopped. Slade glanced up at him with a smile, no doubt taking pleasure in seeing him so helpless, before returning his full attention to the pup. “Yeah, mama said to be quiet!” Jaden nodded seriously. “And I thought it’d be someone scary but it’s you and-” “Mama?” Slade echoed. The smirk on his lips flattened and when he looked again at Dick there was something in his gaze that Dick wasn’t able to name. “Now, that’s a surprise.” “Jaden.” Dick stressed out, a plea. “Come here, baby. Please.” “But it’s dad!” Jaden smiled at Dick over his shoulder, happy and big. Slade froze. Dick wasn’t sure if he was still breathing but too be honest he was too busy trying to get some air himself because he- he couldn’t hear that right. If Slade was Jaden’s father, then… then it meant that... that- “Jaden.” Dick said again because it was the only word he was able to force out of his clenched throat now. “It’s okay, mama!” The boy assured him before turning back towards Slade and whispering to him again. “I think mama is mad at you about something.” Slade didn’t reply. He kept looking at the pup as if it was the first time he saw him before he crunched down. His hand was still curled gently over the back of Jaden’s head. “I think so too.” He hummed after a moment, running his fingers through the black strands.
