they were back in their field, but this time there was no food to distract them. edward had packed a couple of books, but he hadn't gotten that far before their own bodies clashed together. one thing led to another and both of their shirts were discarded. the vampire clearly couldn't contain himself as he picked beau up when their jeans had hit their ankles. he didn't even bother taking them off fully. "you're so beautiful." it was almost a whisper as he wrapped his hands around beau's body. edward lowered the man down on his shaft, letting out a quick groan as he finally felt the tip push beyond the entrance. "and you're all mine." he started bouncing beau up and down his shaft, feeling it throb inside of the other.

modern au in which ed convinces iz to go to Vegas for booze n gamblin(theyre both very good at it), they get married trashed as hell(i know you cant actually legally get married drunk, suspension of disbelief pls). Neither one remembers but izzy finds a blurry video in his camera roll taken by a witness. He does not tell ed, because it's embarrassing and also stupid. fast forward 3 yrs ed and stede are madly in love, turns out they're BOTH legally married still(neither one knew this about the other, ed was entirely clueless). This causes a bit of strain, edward bein like "you have a fucking wife, and Two Children, and you didnt feel like that was important information to share BEFORE we started fucking???" to which stede responds along the lines of "well i asked you if you and izzy had something together, suppose that was a lie?" etc. they get through it eventually. cue Mary and Izzy meeting upon their respective divorces, bonding over dumb men in their lives and wine(izzy will not admit he enjoys wine, but he does finish one of her fancier bottles of white wines on his own). Anyway shenanigans in which Marys children now have 3 dads and an "uncle"(?) izzy. Their family dinners are a fucking mess Every Time, especially since stede insists upon inviting all of his rando queer friends. Lucius has still somehow managed to be dubbed the "gay uncle" by the bonnet children and he is Ecstatic.

edward couldn't help but laugh. he didn't mean to find beau silly. everything that he said was serious and the vampire never wanted him to think otherwise. yet, the question about age was always a humorous one. " beau, i'm over a century older than you if you want to get into the semantics. one year of our phsyical age doesn't make that much of a difference when you think about it. " he moved his hand up to softly run it through beau's curls. the audburn haired looked over at him, features on his face softening into a small smile. " they all do. carlisle says you're good for me. alice already thinks you're a part of the family. emmett keeps making bets on an arm wrestling competition when you're a newborn. " then there were jasper and rosalie. one who had to control his bloodlust around beau and the other that thought he was throwing his humanity away. although edward would look for any excuse to keep beau as a human.

                 he knew talking about the things he was going to miss would make edward sad. he never meant to make him feel that way. he knew his stance on beau's humanity. and he never believed that when someone turned into a vampire, they'd lose their soul. the cullens were an example of that. the kindness people in this world, loving and protective. edward had a soul, point blank. the way that he was, the way that he cared. he looked at edward, the way he spoke, a touch of a desperate plea of staying as a human. " edward, " he whispered. he knew that the other wanted for beau to stay young as long as he could. and he loved the idea of having a few more years to be able to see his parents, to go to college and experience that with edward. " i'm already older than you, i don't want to be any older than you, " he whispered. but still, a part of him thought about it. " i'm glad she does, " he softly states.

Okay but what if we *did* shrink Desmond. What if Desmond ended up in some kind of stasis/liminal space until The Right Time (ie whenever plot convenient), at which point the Apple cracked open like an egg and revealed a four inch tall, very much alive Desmond.

I don’t know why but I just imagined Desmond being a chibi similar to the Guardians from Shugo Chara and now I’m just imagining that Desmond can connect with someone he is related to by blood and impart to them the skills and knowledge he gained using the Animus.

It meant that connecting to him ensured that that person had access to Desmond’s memories, seeing them similar to a film but in a blink of an eye and they can only see what Desmond wants them to see (unless Desmond’s emotional state is unstable, then there’s a chance they will see whatever Desmond is thinking about without Desmond meaning to).

And because he was cracked from the Apple, effectively destroying it, the timeline needed to shift and make up for the ‘loss’ of an Apple.

How?

By making Desmond have access to the information stored in the Apple he cracked from.

And… its ‘defensive’ capabilities.

Which meant that Desmond had been turned into a POE/Animus/human hybrid of some kind.

Unorganized Notes:

Desmond doesn’t know that he has the Apple’s capabilities until the ‘user’ asks him questions he shouldn’t be able to answer.

For Altaïr, he ‘hatched’ after Altaïr used the Apple to calm down the people of Cyprus before they mobbed him. This gives us a chance for Altaïr to form his own ideas of what the Apple is and shatter it in front of him by hatching Desmond out of the blue. This also gives Desmond some time to freak out because Altaïr has to deal with the Templars in Cyprus so he can… sorta chill… sorta… before they return to Masyaf. (or, you know, he can join Altaïr and Maria on their ‘roadtrip afterwards instead)

For Ezio, Desmond hatched after Ezio finishing watching Minerva’s message (up to you if you wish to keep Minerva’s message the same or change it to reflect Desmond’s current situation). Desmond and Ezio could start to bond during the travel back to Monteriggioni and Desmond can warn Ezio about what’s to come as well. Maybe Desmond’s POE powers also reacts when the Papacy army looks like they’re about to (or when Cesare is about to kill Mario) to hammer in the ‘divine intervention’ subplot.

For Ratonhnhaké:ton, it would be funny if he hatched after Washington pushed the Apple to Ratonhnhaké:ton after the end of Tyranny of King Washington but that would mean that Washington would see him. My suggested alternative would be that Desmond hatched just as Ratonhnhaké:ton was about to throw the Apple to the sea and he heard the cracking so he opened the back just in time to see it hatched. Because Desmond seemed harmless and seemed to know him… Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t throw him and instead takes him back to the homestead to talk to him.

No Edward or Haytham because we’re not sure if they ever encountered an Apple.

However…

Ezio’s Apple that Desmond took from the vault and used is still with the Assassins. Its last known ‘location’ was with William Miles.

Does this mean that I’m suggesting he hatched during that time?

No.

Instead…

A thief steals the Apple while William Miles is busy in the Animus…

This thief takes the Apple and runs away.

Once he’s back in his own hideout, he hooks the Apple up in this contraption that looked like an cyberpunk eldritch horror with its many wires and monitors.

The entire machine whirls…

The Apple cracks.

And when Desmond hatched, he is greeted by a young man who looked so similar to him…

“Hello, Desmond Miles. My name is Elijah.”

Suwappytertale Story:

Many years ago...Humans and Monsters reigned together and in peace on the surface.

However, everything changed when a radical group of humans living in **Shymattiville**, began to spread hatred and fear towards the monsters, unleashing a devastating war.

The war ended with the crushing victory of the humans, the monsters were expelled from the surface and exiled underground, where they were locked away by an impenetrable magical barrier imposed by the humans.

The story of Subtertale begins when the protagonist, Chara, a curious and brave girl who lived in **Ketteiville**, in the year 201X, after climbing Mount Ebott, the place where 6 humans had disappeared, falls into an abyss and wakes up in the Ruins, inside the underground.

(Lyra lives in Jasuttisuville.

The 6 human souls live in Jasuttisuville.)

Chara finds themselves in an unknown world, full of strange and dangerous monsters, but also full of friendship and hope.
