ok this is maybe kinda dumb. but what if we read aku coming from a chaos entity and becoming a tyrannical dictator as similar to a response to overly laid back parenting to the point where it's just straight up neglect. like someone so desperate to avoid becoming their parents they go in the total opposite direction. not as in that's literally what's happening and more it's comparable/some kind of equivalent.

very funny concept.

Chaos blob: *gets a bit of itself cut off that becomes a person without the blob ever finding out about it*

Aku: "I'm going to be different from my stupid deadbeat dad who was never there for me."

Aku: *drips a bit of himself into a cup that gets drunk and becomes seven people without Aku ever find out about it*

Aku: "... What have I become..."

okay joking aside,

Aside from goofy shitposts, I personally don't headcanon Aku as a different person from the chaos entity—rather that the chaos entity was never a person at all and Aku vaguely semi-remembers it as "the thing I was before I was born." BUT, all the same, you COULD still build up a headcanon that Aku ended up a control freak as a reaction to the experiences as a chaos entity (whether you choose to frame that as "Aku chose to be different from his parent" or as "Aku himself had that experience and now wants the opposite").

Maybe the experience of being hunted by the gods makes him scared of the thought of wandering around space and he wants to surround himself with a fortress and an army and an entire empire as a defense mechanism.

Maybe being a floating chaos blob is characterized by being consumed by everlasting insatiable need to devour all of existence and when the blob achieved personhood Aku subconsciously went "well wandering aimlessly swallowing stars didn't satisfy my hunger so maybe it's time to systematically seize ownership of Everything and see if that finally satisfies me."

Or, heck, maybe he does define himself as Something Different from the chaos blob, something split off and new, and he feels driven to assert his Difference and Newness by being the exact opposite of what the blob was.

I think the moment Brooklynn stays behind with the Handler and hatches the plan for them to ride in the atrociraptor truck to the bust is very interesting. Like, Brooklynn was never going to let the Handler, the woman who tried to kill her, waltz into the sunset with four “assassin dinos” as she puts it; she wants to take the Handler down just like Soyona Santos, and seemingly impulsively, this becomes part of that, taking her to the location she intends to get Soyona arrested and then trying to kick her out of the truck and into the melee. But the moment she stops to help unlock the cages is interesting. The Handler marched her here, but when she gets in the truck, Brooklynn has the opportunity to flee, and she almost does. But she hears the Handler’s distress at being unable to open the cages. And she stays. She helps her open the cages. She sympathises with her. Was there a genuine note in that, a realisation that the woman who’s haunted her nightmares has things she genuinely cares about and would do anything for, just like Brooklynn? That there may be fewer differences between herself and this driven, competent and dangerous woman than she’d like to think? Though it’s like she says in s2, if she’s going to take Soyona down she has to “get inside her head”, and this feeds directly into that. She has to bait the trap and it has to be convincing. If she keeps the Handler and the raptors in the truck and gets them to the bust they can all be captured. Darius and the others eventually figure it out, that Brooklynn is not the victim here, that it’s not about where the Handler would take Brooklynn, but where Brooklynn would take the Handler. But was there ever a genuine note mixed in there, or was it just cold calculation, recognition that situation provides Brooklynn a foothold she can exploit to get the Handler taken down?

this isn't intended to be a judgment on anyone in particular, but I'm surprised on how few people in the cccc fandom write image descriptions for their art considering the existence of a character who would realistically need to use them {whether you interpret heart as low vision or light sensitive or fully blind} it's just kind of ironic how the characters in the media couldn't even access the content made for it

anyways, if you have the ability to write image descriptions for your work, I highly recommend doing it! it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it :-)

extremely self indulgent au where instead of being destroyed, chaos sonic is reprogrammed by nine to be loyal to him. keyword him.

so when things fall out between nine and sonic, chaos goes along with nine and becomes his lackey. the roles are reversed, now a "tails" is the leader and a "sonic" is the follower.

and because I'm a rabid shard the metal sonic fan, maybe nine gives chaos a black coat of paint so he looks less like sonic (oh the painful memories!).

Who is the Tails Polycule favorite sonic?

So as far as the Prime Polycule au goes, the only Sonic they've met is Prime!Sonic (who in this au is sort of combined with Modern!Sonic and IDW!Sonic). This kind of means that despite being in a polycule there is some lowkey background fighting over Prime Sonic that's inevitable😂😅

As for an version of the au where Sonic variants exist, sadly I haven't yet done too much thinking for potential Sonic variants. But for what I have so far, I'd say just about everyone in the polycule would prefer their own Sonic/Sonic variant

Except for Nine (lol). He prefers Prime!Sonic over the two versions of New Yoke!Sonic that exist in my head (one is a take from an au I've been working on with someone else, and that Sonic is a major dick. the other is from @phantom-fleetways's au, where New Yoke Sonic is basically just a paycheck to paycheck disabled guy living in a bachelor pad)

Locked up where you should feel at home. In the USA, more than 10 million people are abused in their own homes every year. And my team and I want to offer these people a refuge, a place where they are understood and supported. A place of well-being, of arrival; a safe haven - and that's exactly where the name comes from. So follow me around as I give you the first glimpse of the residential complex that has been disrupted so that people can feel safe again.

I really wanted to create something good from my own trauma, something better - to give people what I had been missing all this time. It's incredibly difficult to get out of a violent household and/or relationship, because there's usually no real place to escape to. But with Safe Haven, that's history: with the help of four building complexes connected by a spacious inner courtyard, people are given the opportunity to live a quiet, communal life. Passionate therapists and psychiatrists are available at all times and there is a timed program to lead a routine life or to be reintegrated into it. Everyone is welcome here - except those who advocate violence. I can't wait to see where this journey together takes us and I am beyond proud to say that we will officially welcome our first lost souls in early August.

So if you’ll ever need help or know someone who needs to escape, let me know. I will help you to get out.

Chaos Sonic: Hah. So we're still talking about that blue pitstain? Whatever. He can be fun to toy with, sure, but he's old news. Last year's model. A failure of a friend and a passable hero. Nine wants him alive for "some reason"—that involves his "intense attachment"—so I won't kill him or anything. I'll leave him alone in a room with Nine over my dead body—or my best friend's wishes, since I cannot bear to refuse him. If I could, though, I'd love the chance to "play" with him some, "rough him up" a little as payback for how he treated my best friend.

Alpha Grim Sonic (answering via writing it down, sign language, transmission, whatever because he's mute): You refer to the blue hedgehog. Once upon a time, my master, Nine, seemed to be troubled when thinking of him. There was a time when Sonic brought a fight to our doorstep, but no matter how Sonic may have hurt him in the past, he has chosen to preserve my master's life. Nine seems to trust him, and Sonic has not threatened his life. So, as I do not have the capacity to experience such things as "emotions", and they would not matter even if I did have the ability, I do not mind if my master associates with Sonic the Hedgehog. If Nine is happy, and the hedgehog does not intend harm upon him, then all is well.

Chaos Sonic: Oh, he's that black hedgehog, right?! Seems cool! I'd love to race him sometime. Of course, I'll fight him too if he intends to lay a finger on my best buddy, but all is well if he plays nice.

Alpha Grim Sonic (answering not by speaking, because he is mute): Shadow the Hedgehog. You do refer to the black hedgehog, do you not? If he intends to bring harm upon my master again, I will not hesitate in removing him. He has not received forgiveness for trying to kill my master during the war. Nine surely allows him to live because he is gracious, but if he so commanded me to I would rip the hedgehog him limb from limb. It is my duty to do what my master commands, and I will be ready should the hedgehog try anything or should my master finally revoke his trust in him.
