One time I did a "Best Nightwish albums" list and today I started thinking I might as well do a best musicals list 😭 Not all of these shows are good but I like them a whole lot!!! (Scroll to the bottom to see a thing where I Tagged People)

1. Tanz der Vampire (1997 original & Hamburg 2005)

I had a hard time picking an Ultimate Fave but I do think TdV takes the cake. It's not every day a show makes you learn a new language and has you basically uproot your life to go live nearer where it's shown xD Soooo good. I keep finding new things to like about it as the years go on, and while it has Faults, Carpe Noctem alone is probably one of the best musical numbers ever made. It's so well crafted in terms of music, lyrics, stage design and choreography!!

2. Elisabeth (many prods)

Depression but it's gay,,,,,,,

3. Wicked

Noooo babe don't drown in despair and self hatred after you got all you ever wanted in a way that Went Horribly Wrong you're too sexy aha besides you have a bubble to go around in!!!

4. POTO

I'm just here for the setting (soooooo into it and even more so after I read the book many many years ago) and Carlotta. And the movie does setting really well, it's so lush. I've been to the actual Palais Garnier and desperately want to go again

5. Les Mis

Had a hard time placing 5 and 6 but I think LM has more bops so it goes here. Idk if I will ever get around to the book lmaoo maybe I can look up the gay bits on tumblr

6. Cabaret

Continuously insane abt this show actually, and I think more so after I read the book

7. The Dolls of New Albion

!!!! It's so flawed but the music is great and the premise is super interesting and rare. The sequels are dead (hehe) to me tho because they ruin the mystery and wonder of the worldbuilding xD

8. Rocky Horror (Picture) Show

Really like the songs!! And the aesthetic lmao

9. The Producers

😭😭 I have no excuse I just really really like the songs and I think the humor works for me as well

Honorable mentions and old faves: Chicago, HoND, Evita, LOTR, J&H, 35MM (I listened to this a lot at one point even tho I don't think it's that deep as a show ajsksk), Six, Hamilton, Be More Chill, Beetlejuice (there's a deleted demo song I'm obsessed with and the music is really catchy)

Also lol I got this far before mentioning Rebecca and Mozart 💀💀💀💀💀 I like both a lot (more than, say, J&H and HoND, but less than Les Mis or Cabaret) but they're not Ultimate Faves, at least not right now. Some of the songs I'm completely obsessed with though (Mozart, Mozart! and Wie kann es möglich sein mostly)

ALSO i want to torment people so if you want please feel free to do a Subjective Best Musicals List too if I tag you (and even if I didn't tag you, if you want)!! No pressure on length, just put however many you feel like - I think my list is a little on the long side. And if you don't want to do it at all that's okay too :D

Hi!! I’d love to hear some soft movie night headcanons for the moon knight boys!! What movie would they pick? Watching on the sofa, or in bed? Are they chatterboxes, or quiet and focused? And (and this is very important) what food/snacks would they pick? 🧡

Hi lovely! I am so down for a movie night, always, and with my favourite boys, too, you’re after my heart.

Firstly, it’s the sofa! The bed will knock you out so quickly watching the pretty pictures on screen, there’s no point even trying to stay awake on the bed.

Secondly, I feel like each boy has their own preferred genre of movie to watch, but will compromise/meet you in the middle depending on the film.

I stand by Jake being an old school film buff, romcom movie lover. He likes films like Midnight in Paris, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Grease. He doesn’t talk much during the film but will tell you his favourite parts and laugh at your commentary.

Fave snacks: some type of chocolate that he somehow makes last the whole film, maybe a box of turtles, a bag of maltesers.

Marc likes movies with action, maybe sci-fi and some decent plot; if the storyline isn’t there he’s lost interest and starts making fun of the characters for their bad decisions. He loves the Bourne series (for obvious reasons), is a LOTR (vibes with Aragorn) and SW fan (the classic series, he thinks the world of Han Solo).

Fave snacks: potato chips, you guys get your own flavours so you’re not mad about him killing the bag. Maybe some peanut m&ms.

STEVEN. LIKES. MUSICALS. Also, thrillers (Prometheus), mystery (is a mad Sherlock Holmes fan), psychological, and some rom coms (see Amelie, the princess bride). Really anything the two of you have been wanting to see and have mutual interest in because Steven LOVES talking during the movie. There is a constant stream of commentary, both of you maintain it through the whole film, whether it’s the set design, costumes, cheesy dialogue, you’re discussing everything.

Fave snacks: classic buttery popcorn.

They’ve all seen John Wick and Triple Frontier and have very strong opinions.

Hello, my friend! I see you love movies, what are your fav movies everyone should see? I used to watch the Oscars every year, except this one and I missed the whole Will Smith fiasco lol, but I still remember when they did the mistake to give the best picture oscar to La La Land when it was Moonlight all the time....what a night.

Oh yes I LOVE movies, I watch the Oscars every year too 😂 I was there for Ellen's selfie and for the La La Land/Moonlight thing hahha I loved the surprise, thought Moonlight deserved it more. And I saw Will Smith's slap live, I actually thought it was all a joke in the beginning, then the Italian speakers said something had occurred and I realized it wasn't planned at all. I also think his punishment is a bit too much, I mean he shouldn't have hit Chris Rock, but he did indeed make a very poor and mean joke about an illness. Definitely not funny. 10 years ban is a bit too much, but we know Oscars have weird rules, sigh.

As for my favourite movies, damn tough.

- The Lord of the Rings trilogy is all time favourite, there's nothing better than this and no one can convince me otherwise 😌 I love everything about it I watch it 2/3 times a year (extended edition) and the soundtrack is the best ever.

- Howl's moving castle, possibly my favourite animated movie, anime for sure. I love everything about it from soundtrack to characters and the book is a masterpiece too even thought it's very different.

- Spiderman Into the Spiderverse, the animation is worth it alone, mind-blowing, never seen anything so amazing in my life, probably the next best one is The Mitchells Vs the Machines (I'm mad cause Encanto won instead of this one ugh).

AND there's Olivia Octavius that's the American version of Hange so bonus point hehe

- Alien tetralogy, well mostly the first three, the fourth is pure trash but still enjoyable. I like to watch it like a watch the Machete movies and Robert Rodriguez movies in general 😂

I think my favourite is Aliens, that's the one from James Cameron, but I love the first and third one too.

- Hook, Ghostbusters, Jumanji, The Addams Family, The Blues Brothers. These are all my childhood movies. I love them all and they're a part of me. They're not perfect, but the stories, the special effects and the acting are true and heartwarming. Maybe it's my nostalgia talking but who knows you might love them too.

- Coraline. Almost like Howl hehe, love the book too. And I'm a big fan of stop motion especially Laika's they're the absolute best.

- Star Wars (the old and the prequel trilogy only). Childhood movies and memories once again, though they teach valuable lessons about family, love, self-discovery and fabulous special effects (for the time).

- Some like it hot. Old but one of the best movies I've ever seen. Billy Wilder is a genius director and Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are Oscars good. Plus there's the best ending/movie line ever:

And they almost made me like Marilyn Monroe so 😂😂

- The Invisible Man (1935) yes it's ooooold but I love old movies even silent one (this is not though). Love the sci-fi story and the invisible effect on him is top notch.

- Becoming Jane. I'm not a fan of romantic movies or comedies (there are very very few I cherish, the others meh I get easily bored when there's too much romance involved), but this one, boy I love it. Maybe it's the chemistry between James McAvoy and Anne Hathaway or the Jane Austen setting (I love Jane Austen movies, these are one of the few romances I like, dunno why), but my heart melts every time I see it, and I cry A LOT. I'm huge crybaby, you don't wanna know how much I cry every time I watch LOTR 😂

- Tim Burton movies, I don't have a real fave, probably The Nightmare before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands or Big Fish, but he's my favourite director, there are few movies he's made I don't like. Lately he's lost a bit of his touch but I'm so close to him can't not like him 😂 don't know if it makes sense.

Right now these are the ones that come to mind, but I'm sure I'm missing some movie for sure. I'm sorry it's so long you don't have to let me talk about movies 😩 I can go on forever and ever, I'm kind of autistic when it comes to cinema. Thanks for asking though, anon 💜

Aw, of course :). And you're so sweet <3. I am a Taurus, and my full name is Emily, though I go by Em! I'm from a small town in Wisconsin and still live in WI, but I moved to a bigger city. Currently in grad school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and it's only been 5 weeks, but I am tired.

What else?

My favorite color is purple, and my fave song is "Robbers" by the 1975 (waiting patiently for their return). My fave movie is LotR: The Two Towers. M favorite thing I own is either my stuffed polar bear Iceberg or my lifesize JBB cutout.

My history of fanfic, okay? Picture this. It's 2009. I am fifteen and in love with Sirius Black, though not the Gary Oldman version. It's called "Time of Our Lives," which is an HP Marauders-era fic. It is still up on Fanfiction.net mainly because whenever I need to tell myself that I have greatly improved, I go back and read that. (I give my permission to read it and my Teen Wolf one. Both are unfinished and cause me physical pain, lol. My username is, wait for it, eligoldsworthy'sgirl27. My emo king). I also dabbled in 1d fanfic a few years later, but I don't think those are posted anywhere anymore.

So like, just know you can improve is my main point to this whole thing. And it's even the little things like learning how to format dialogue and not write in one brick of text that can improve your writing so much. Anyway. This was longer than I meant it to be. I gotta go to sleep xx :)

I say this because I want good things for them. I just want to snuggle them up in a blanket and show them my fave show and make them tea. That is all. (Also I think they might enjoy/find interesting some of the interpersonal themes at play about processing your trauma, grappling with self worth, etc.)

2.) Maedhros

I think he’d also enjoy the interpersonal themes of the show (and maybe… maybe the stuff about confronting the burden that parental figures place upon their children and its injustice might hit home?) while also appreciating the attention to detail and accuracy of the martial forms depicted in the series. Also I’d be… very very curious for his opinions on some of the episodes. Like The Southern Raiders/The Puppetmaster.

3.) Fingolfin

I think the martial form accuracy applies to Fingolfin too. Also he gives me Iroh vibes sometimes. I think he could appreciate the sheer desire to take care of these kids and the pride of watching them grow. Also I want Nolo there for when I’m sobbing my fucking eyes out and need a hug

4.) Finrod

I apologize to Finrod for putting him in such a middling place, I’d place him at either 3 or 4 - I think he’d enjoy it and certainly would enjoy all the fantastic work of the soundtrack composers! Also I can totally picture him singing Secret Tunnel forever - unsure if this is points on or points off. I think he’d like Katara and would enjoy The Painted Lady episode

5.) Húrin

Oh man. I’m so sorry Húrin. And I’m so sorry Nelyo I love him, I do, but 1.) I feel like watching children suffer and struggle would not be an amazing time for him, though certain storylines may also resonate with him at the same time, and 2.) oh this guy would have a running commentary of wisecracks - this is both a plus and a minus. At least I’d be very entertained; I want to know what he’d call Ozai, I gotta know

1: What book did you last finish? When was that? the last book I finished reading was The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde. I finished reading ita bout 2 weeks ago!

3: What book are you planning to read next? The next book I’m planning to read is Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski. Can’t wait to get back into The Witcher! <3

13: Name a book with a really bad movie/tv adaption Oohh I’m thinking… the only movie/tv adaptions I’ve also read are Harry Potter, LOTR/Hobbit, The Hunger Games, the Twilight saga. From those I think I liked The Hobbit the least compared to the book. I’m trying to avoid movie/tv adaptions from books I’ve read.

29: How do you sort your shelves? (i.e. by color, author, title etc.) My shelves are currently sorted by original language, the author’s name estimated age of the readers (adult books, YA books, children’s books) and genre. When I have multiple books by the same author, the books are sorted on year of release. So I got 1 shelve with only Dutch/Flemish books for adults, I got 1 shelve with children’s/teenager’s books written by national and international authors. I got a shelve with adult books by international authors. I got a shelve with fantasy series by international authors and I got a shelve with only Tolkien books. And then I still have a LOT of books just laying around bc I’m running out of space to store them. Including Dutch young adults and non-fiction.

46: What is your favorite thing to drink when you read? Tea is my #1 fave drink to drink when reading.

50: Why do you love to read? It helps me relax, it helps me escape to another world and forget about our world completely. I love getting to know new characters. And it is one of the very few things I can actually focus on completely. I love how people can express their ideas in words. And it’s just… I just love it.

Tolkien Blog Party 2020 - Tag Questions

Yayy!!! It’s that time of year again! Tolkien Week, pretty much my favorite time of year so I’m filling up the Tag Questions for The Edge of the Precipice’s Tolkien Party, as I’ve been doing the past two years.

Putting them under a read more for length.

1. What Tolkien character do you think you're the most like?

Oh, my gosh! This is SO HARD! I personally have no idea but I know I can relate A LOT to Bilbo and Frodo for various reasons, but I’m not sure I’m that much like them (I wish I were though).

I’ve been told by others at different times that I’m like Galadriel (something about my demeanor seems to give this impression to my sister and her boyfriend), Samwise (my friend Ellie said so recently), Bilbo (I remember @charitysplace said so once because we’re both massive cautious homebodies terrified of leaving our hobbit holes 😄), and Frodo (my brother said it once) but I can’t remember anybody else comparing me with other Tolkien characters, I don’t really have many Tolkien loving friends or simply friends for that matter. 😀

2. What Tolkien character do you wish you were more like?

Lots but mostly Frodo, Bilbo and Sam. Merry and Pippin too, they’re so jolly. 😆 And I wish I were as brave as Éowyn and Aragorn and as graceful as Galadriel and Arwen and as wise as Elrond and Gandalf and as a noble as Faramir, Bard and Éomer and... Okay, I’ll stop now. 😂

3. What would your dream home in Middle-earth be like?

Bag End!!! Need I say more? It’s seriously the best home ever. My biggest dream would be to be able to at least visit it (in actual Middle-earth, I’ve assumed I’ll never get to the set in NZ) but I bet it would be wonderful to live there with Bilbo and Frodo, my two most favorite characters. 😍 (I’ve actually read and imagined stories in my head about it).

4. You get to make a movie of the story of Beren and Luthien! Who do you cast as the leads?

Would it be odd to say I would cast Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler? It’s just, I know they’re different characters but for me their story is like a parallel version of Aragorn and Arwen’s story. Besides, they’re their descendants so I think it’d make sense for Aragorn and Arwen to look like them.

I think it’d also give it a peculiar sort of Wizard of Oz feeling in which real world characters have parallel characters in Oz played by the same actors. I don’t know, I’d think of it this way if I were to have a movie of their story.

I don’t know that many actors so I don’t know who else could be fit for their roles. Liv and Viggo are the ones that instantly came to mind because whenever I read the story, I picture Beren and Lúthien just like them, probably because I relate them with Aragorn and Arwen.

5. Have you ever marathoned the LOTR or Hobbit movies?

Not in a single day but over a week or so. LOTR more often than The Hobbit, I’m working to make the times I watch them both even but most of the time, I just watch my favorite clips from both because I don’t often have time to watch all of them.

6. Do you have a favorite song or track from the movie soundtracks by Howard Shore?

Several, I adore the full soundtrack of all movies but I’ll list my Top 10:

1. Concerning Hobbits [The Fellowship of the Ring].

2. Many Meetings (Rivendell in the Complete Recordings) [The Fellowship of the Ring].

3. Evenstar [The Two Towers].

4. Dreaming of Bag End [An Unexpected Journey].

5. The Breaking of the Fellowship (The Road Goes Ever On... Pt. 1 in the Complete Recordings) [The Fellowship of the Ring].

6. Elanor [The Return of the King]

7. Flaming Red Hair [The Fellowship of the Ring].

8. Bilbo’s Song [The Return of the King].

9. Kingsfoil [The Desolation of Smaug].

10. The Grace of Undómiel (Twilight and Shadow + the last part of Minas Tirith in the regular soundtrack release) [The Return of the King].

Plus all six movies’ credit songs, I love all of them.

These were SO HARD to choose, you have no idea. I had to leave quite a few of my faves out but these are pretty much my biggest favorites, the ones I couldn’t live without.

7. Which of Tolkien's characters would you like to be best friends with?

Most of them probably but hobbits are at the top of my list: Frodo, Sam, Bilbo, Merry, Pippin, Rosie. I’d also love to befriend the remaining members of the Fellowship and Thorin’s Company.

Special mention goes to LotR ladies: Galadriel (and her husband Celeborn), Arwen and Éowyn (and her husband Faramir, of course).

But if I had to choose just one, it’d be Frodo, no doubt. 😊

8. Who of the people in your real life would you want in your company if you had to take the ring to Mordor?

My siblings, my friends Ellie and Holly and these lovely people here: the aforementioned @charitysplace, @asylphamongthespiderworts, @arina-shavel, @chipmunkfanno1love, @creativefictionlover, @liliaenbaggins, @timelordoftherings, @infjpaladin, @thatvermilionflycatcher and @selkiesstories.

We’d be fourteen including me as Thorin’s Company. 😄

9. Have you read any of Tolkien's non-Middle-earth works?

Sure! I have read The Father Christmas Letters, it was such a lovely little book! A friend of my sister’s lent it to me, knowing my love of Tolkien’s work. I had such a fun time deciphering Polar Bear’s secret message. I look forward to reading his other children stories.

I think I might also have read an excerpt from On Fairy-Stories but not the full thing. And I have read a few of his letters but not his full letter book, not sure that counts as non-Middle-earth though, since he does talk about it in his letters.

10. Is there a book by Tolkien you haven't read yet, but want to?

All the ones I haven’t read yet, which is a bit of a long list when you consider I’ve only read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion and The Father Christmas Letters.

Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth and The History of Middle-earth are at the top of my list.

Gwenspiration: The Wacky Version Vol. 3 - The Moodboards

So, here I go again parading myself and tooting like there is no tomorrow.

As people still brave enough to follow me on Tumblr will know, I do a lot of moodboards, or at least I call them such. Others call them collages or storyboards or pictures with random text. Either way, for me, moodboards became a neat tool to somehow capture story ideas not yet anywhere near a level that I could write fic about them - or serve as inspirations for fics I am actually writing.

And it gives me opportunity to hoard unhealthy amounts of Gwen and Nik pics, in the name of moodboards. And science. And stuff. Whoozah!

So yeah, in this post, I want to share some of my personal favorites. A lot of them actually, because I can’t decide, really.

I will start off with a group of moodboards which took inspiration from the Marvel universe, since the Marvel universe was my gateway into the more active parts of fandom.

An all-time fave is the Iron Man AU... I mean, what not to love about a JB AU with Jaime as sassy Tony Stark and Brienne as the not-taking any shit from you army doctor, am I right? But yeah, seriously, Jaime *is* the Tony Stark of the GOT universe, and I can’t be convinced otherwise. And neither should be you.

Also, the Iron Man suits just totally fit the color scheme for both, which made creating the moodboards all the better for me. Jaime and Brienne were made for armor, now in medieval or modern times, let’s not kid ourselves.

Another Marvel fave has got to be Captain Westeros. Because if there is a female GOT Version of Steve Rogers, it’s gotta be Brienne of fuckin’ Tarth. This one is really close to my heart because it gave me a lot of feels coming up with plot bunnies for it, and the tragedy of those two people missing each other in time over and over again, always trying to protect one another, only to end up on opposite sides because of the machinations of others... *sigh*

And I mean, one guy loses an arm. The other is blond and strong... I don’t make the rules but this delivers me enough material to re-imagine this as a JB AU... so yeah, I do kinda make the rules after all. Anyway.

Since I realized that this post’s gonna get even looooonger, I decided to make a cut here and put the rest below, so not to have you scrolling for five hours.

Although it’s not the most popular moodboard amongst my followers (you brave people, I can’t parade you enough for staying through the madness lol), I really, really love that Fantastic Four moodboard and the concept behind it. And I just know a lot of effort went into making Valyrian Steel Brienne, which took all of my three computer editing skillz brain cells. But yeah, here again, I liked to play with the idea of them not admitting to their love until shit hits the fan and then they hide behind that because... drama, angst, feels, pining, yadda.

And we go from Marvel to DC little quick. Because Brienne is, most certainly, a Wonder Woman. Nuf said.

Now, let’s move on to other big movie franchises that give me all the JB feels:

Jurassic Park (aka Valyrian Park) evidently holds a special place in my heart because JB fighting dinosaur-dragon hybrids and kicking ass while being disbelieving about what was bred out in Valyria thanks to some certain someones to rescue Brienne’s adoptive daughter Arya is just... a thing? For me anyway.

More down memory lane, I don’t know how often I watched the LOTR movies, suffice to say it was a lot a lot. We had the extended versions DVDs of the first two and basically it was the one thing to watch when nothing was on (which was the case a lot). Either way. JB in MIddle Earth long after the days of Frodo et al. - why? Because I just loved the idea (and aesthetic) of Jaime as a ranger and Brienne as a knight of Gondor working in disguise. And Hobbipod. I mean, Pod as a Hobbit. Come the fuck on. And Tyrion as an asshole wizard. What could possibly go wrong? This moodboard was very time-consuming as I had to do a lot of edits (pointy ears, tiny up people, smudge Brienne’s face on a lot of Boromir and Faramir images, smudge Jaime’s face on a lot of Aragorn images, you name it). So yeah. No matter its popularity... I dig it. Despite not having read the books yet (I know, shocking), I continue to ogle at the idea and go like: Must. Write. But. Must. Resist. Either way. Mood.

So yeah, I grew up watching these movies a lot, too (I grew up watching a lot of TV, period). And when Gwen was cast as Captain Phasma, I got a lot of JB juices flowing as a result. Mehe. I found it was a fun idea to play with, to basically *kill* Phasma so *Brienne* can come into play and assume her identity. And a rundown Jedi!Jaime who’s lost faith in himself and everything else safe for his partner in crime/resistance is just... I needz. So you gotta cope with it. I still adore this concept a lot even if others may not. :)

This one’s just... gah. Feels. And I really liked the color scheme lol. And I watched Horse Whisperer A LOT. Because of feels. And horses. And Honor is a horse and he deserved better than be barbecued at Highgarden, dammit.

The No Reservations AU definitely has to be in this post because I live for this dynamic. Brienne taking care of the girls, not knowing how, though, constantly doubting herself while always trying to be perfect and composed, not just in life but on the job as well. And Jaime being the laid-back guy who’s just a darn good chef but may carry his own baggage of problems that keep him from his happy ending story is just... mah jam.

This one was a lot of fun to do because you don’t really think about Erin Brockovich when you say Brienne of Tarth in terms of character. But when you scratch away the boob jokes and the differences in where they come from, what you find are two hard-working women who fight for justice, so I found that close enough. And it was excuse enough for me to go down the lane of biker!Jaime because... dayum.

Music and Lyrics is an all-time guilty pleasure romcom of mine. It’s so light and easy and I kind of love how everyone is basically a bunch of awkward losers. All the more perfect for Jaime as a singer (we need that in our lives after the infamous video Nik was in to sing to us about global warming...) and Brienne as the unexpectedly gifted songwriter. What I like about the moodboard per se is how the color scheme turned out because it’s all warm and bright and... makes me happy.

Very much in contrast to the former stands this one. I still love the overall mood of it and I dig the story idea because I dug both The Prestige and The Illustionist because they presented something dark yet very different, which made it all the more appealing to put into a moodboard for me. While not the most well-known moodboard of mine, I keep going back to it time and time again to basically lust at all the illusions and magic and drama. And blue butterflies.

What is there not to love about a Pacific Rim AU for JB, am I right? Right?! JB ain’t just compatible when it comes to the Drift, yo, that’s all I’m gonna say. Reasons why I like the moodboard a lot is that it’s very different, flashy colors, gigantic robots, and I was mostly alright with how the edits turned out. It is tough to get images that fit the angles, yo.

Jumping back in time once more, I really adore this one even though it’s not one of my popular moodboards. I dug the fusion of elements from Cinderella Man while granting Brienne as the female lead more space to develop as a character and make her a badass sniper nurse who is about to get her doctor’s degree. And Jaime doing anything to make it work because he owes her a debt (and his love) by boxing his way to their shared life is just... nice.

Another supposedly lesser known moodboard is this one, though I really adore it for its premise and the amount of work I put into it (all the giffing and moodboarding). I also found use for that image of Gwen with what looks like the veil of a nun, which was probably what had me inspired in the first place lol. The plot bunnies revolve less around Se7en and more the novel El ùltimo Catón (2001) because it has a nun solving a mystery revolving around Dante’s works. But Se7en gives us the Seven, which is a delicious parallel too hard to ignore. For me at least. If only I knew how to write crime, dammit.

Now, to move more into the serial (smooth transition from serial killer to serial TV shows, I know, I know) way of life, here is some moodboards inspired by TV shows (although some have since gotten movies which I also took inspiration from... yadda):

Childhood memory galore. I spent many weekends watching The A-Team with the whole family. When the movie came out, I was happy about the feels it gave me (and the “you spin my head right round” scene still cracks me up more often than it should). Either way. I found it absolutely necessary for Jaime to be Face, for Tyrion to be Hannibal, for Bronn to be B.A. and cuss at everyone and everything and Brienne giving us the strangest genderbend of a Howling Mad Murdock. It added some angst, which I always need because I am a thirsty hoe for it. In case no one noticed yet. Ha.

This one is very remotely inspired by The Bletchley Circle and the Imitation Game (because both feature encryption and one features Charles Dance already, yo.) I just really dug the idea of Brienne being so good at this because she is such a straight thinker but being underestimated because “she a woman.” And of course her not being done just encoding messages but getting into action, very much to the dismay of the stupid soldier wanting to defend the bae from harm. What could possibly go wrong? Right. A lot.

Then. Elementary. Let me count the ways in which I love that show... ALL THE WAYS. And I really dig it as a JB AU. I have so many thoughts and feelings, I can’t even begin to tell you. I especially had my fun basically making Jaime Sherlock without making him really Sherlock because that guy was the one who taught him how to be an investigator before disappearing and fucking up his life for bad. And Brienne as the army doctor turned sober companion turned private investigator turned love interest is just too delicious to ignore.

Pants down I mean hands down, this may be the actual favorite (currently) amongst them all for the plain reason that I also grew up watching that series and still watch it and keep obsessing about it. Ever since Discovery launched and has since given me both joy and grief, I found myself intrigued by the premise of a JB Star Trek AU where Brienne would be standing *with* the Klingons during the war around the time Discovery takes place, and Captain Jaime Lannister having lost far too much to this war already to truly trust anyone, even less so a woman who ran to the Klingons, for what it seems.

You would not believe how many ideas I have for a fic based on it. You wouldn’t believe that I basically have a sequel to that fic already in mind. And you would definitely believe, knowing me, that I am nowhere near writing that fic. But a fangirl can dream and moodboard, right? The moodboard was such a fun way of going about it, not only for the edits but because I could sneak some secret Klingon messages in there. :)

This has a special place in my heart because it combines military and the traumas it comes with for JB and.... the aesthetic of farming. And both finding a kind of peace they didn’t know they were looking for as they struggle to adjust and find their way back “to normal” after the horrors they have both seen in war. And did I mention the aesthetic? And Jaime in plaid? All dirty and sweaty? Do I have to say more?

Why this one? Because it combines angst and romance and falling in love twice because DESTINY. And paintings. I love me my artist AUs. So that was my go at it, combining it with the “mystery” to be uncovered about what history Jaime and Brienne actually share as he tries to put his memories back together. Also. This moodboard gave me opportunity to try out new filters and create JB paintings. :)

This one’s gotta be on the list since I also added the Horse Whisperer. Now it’s Dog Whisperer Jaime and Brienne who won’t give up on her dog who’s seen some shit in the warzone (as did she, but Brienne will put it all aside for her doggish best buddy, of course). While it’s not a very popular moodboard of mine, I really enjoy the premise of it and how the dynamics can so easily change between the two of them if you see it in comparison to the Horse Whisperer AU. Also. I just really think Jaime is a total pet person.

Another lesser known moodboard, I’d assume, but I really dug the premise of it (still do), and it was intriguing to do some edits to make Jaime’s hand *truly* golden lol. With people having developed strange mutations which aren’t nearly as much fun as they are in Fantastic Four AUs. What I liked about it was the idea that Brienne would have a kind of mutation/ability that links to the mind, since she is such a physically strong fighter that she may rather rely on that than on her own mind, fearing that she cannot control that with discipline the same way she can train her body with it. What unites the two is their strong wish to protect the people in their care, in a world on the verge of collapse forcing two unexpected allies together (okay, I totally expected it, but they didn’t). Either way. Much love for this one. :)

Aaaand the last one (not of all the ones I made but the ones I picked for Gwenspiration). I really, really, really adore this one because I was so happy with how the aesthetic turned out and how the colors all match. And I dig the premise. Like holy moly do I dig it deep. Jaime and Brienne both serving in military, but on different fronts, and almost accidentally ending up writing each other letters? I mean... the PINING. And Brienne having to decipher Jaime’s chickenscratch. Yeah no, but for real. I just love the idea so much. That they are both committed to the cause while also yearning for a home, for peaceful times, for sweet, sweet love. And them meeting up and acting like stupid teenagers, only for drama to keep hitting because. It’s eh me angsty Wacky.

Either way. I dig the premises of a lot of my moodboards (in fact... basically all of them or else I wouldn’t be making them, I guess). I spared you listing all of them, though I listed a whole damn lot already. Moodboards are an awesome means for me personally to visualize and (re-)imagine. And since quite a few people seem to continue to be onboard with them, I am all the happier to keep making them.

💕 : Ooh, this one is tricky because I feel like it changes depending on what I’ve watched/read recently, haha. But right now my two favorite fictional characters are probably Mercy Thompson (from the Mercy Thompson novels by Patricia Briggs) and Axl from the Megaman X video game series. That being said, I also love Lara Croft, Vincent Valentine, Faramir, Samwise Gamgee, Bard the Bowman, Conner from Assassin’s Creed…I mean, this list could go on forever, lol. XD

📷 : I have so many pictures on my phone it took me a bit to scroll through to the 12th picture, lol. But here you go! (It’s a road runner feather, if anyone’s wondering.)

📖 : My favorite book varies depending on what I’ve read recently, but one of my fave stories of all time is probably The Hero and the Crown, by Robin McKinley. It’s one of those books that I always circle back around to read because it’s so good. I also love the LOTR books and the Night Angel series, and as mentioned earlier I’m a huge fan of the Mercy Thompson books.

📝 : I don’t know that I have a favorite quote as such, because different quotes resonate with me at different times depending on what’s going on in my life. But there is a quote from Arthur Ashe that I saw recently that stuck in my head, so we’ll go with that for now!

“True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others, at whatever cost.”

I also quite like the Pablo Casals quote about compassion: “I feel the capacity to care is the thing which gives life its deepest significance.”

📔 : I technically do have a diary somewhere, but it’s been a while since I’ve actually written in it. I used to write in it pretty frequently, but I’ve been so busy with work lately that any free time I have to write is generally spent working on my stories rather than documenting my thoughts for the day.

🐷 : There is specific brand of pretzel called Dot’s Pretzels that my grocery store started carrying and I am ADDICTED to them.

🌼 : Another thing that changes, haha. But in general I like lilies, tulips, and carnations. Daisies are also nice, they’re a very cheerful flower.

📺 : Ooh, a tough question! Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds, probably.

🎥 : Right now my favorite movie is the 2019 Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia VIkander

🎁 : Oh, I couldn’t possibly pick just one gift that I love the best. Every gift I’ve ever received is a treasure, truly, and holds a special place in my heart. I’ve gotten everything from live hamsters to video games to a really pretty musical snow globe to stuffed animals to Pokemon toys to jewelry to books, and I love absolutely all of it. Honestly, any present I receive is wonderful simply because someone cared enough ot get it for me. <3

1. I assume obviously from GOT, he has been my Fave for like four seasons now well my fave boy anyway, but I think my crush on him kinda peaked when I found out we are literally like...the same age that really spooked me. but i think he’s so cute especially when you see him with his glasses on! awwww!

2. Well TBS has been around for a very long time in the crush realm, pretty much since nanny mcphee I have had a thing for thomas, well nanny Mcphee and Doctor who too. 2. What color and style is your hair?: I have really dark hair, shoulder length and i have bangs that are growing out hehe i look cuter with bangs so yea

3. What color are your eyes?: A dark brown, nearly black i guess but there's a bit of brown

4. Do you wear glasses?: Yep! I have astigmatism basically :> I'm not really blind but things get a little blurry if i don't wear them

5. Do you wear braces?: Yes!!! And I am in immense pain right now because i got my wires again yesterday and found out that I'm really gonna have my 2nd or 3rd molars removed by surgery this summer so yay :') send help pls huhuhuhu
