All Legs 38W9508 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: One doesn’t have to look hard to see the love between a dam and her foal. This colt is likely no more than a day or so old. He is still a bit wobbly but horses stand within minutes of birth. They have to in order to nurse, and they must nurse in order to survive. They usually begin trying to run within a day and this little guy is no exception. You can see from his stature, he is all legs. The legs of horses at birth are proportionately large compared to adults. The reasons for this are clear. #WildHorses

Road tripped to see a couple friends this week! One of them took me to Assateague Island to see the wild Chincoteague ponies and go beachcombing. We found a fairly fresh, fully intact horseshoe crab, so we brought it home and my friend will be preserving it.

158.) My Assateague Island sweater, featuring horses. We visited the location on the day I finished the sweater. The horses are in a variety of colors because real horse colors did not show up well on the background yarn I used. And the background is not the same color as the grass because a vehicle with off-road capabilities is needed to visit the part with sand.
