Alpha!Vanessa X Omega!Reader. Walking home.
This is my first time writing omegaverse, I hope it’s alright <:
Also shout out @707bot1 happy birthday man I hope u enjoy this.
The rain fell heavy on your umbrella, making it harder for you to trudge down the street. You didn’t have a ride home sense your S/O has dropped you. They was a delta, although they had the ego of an alpha times ten. You weren’t good enough for them, they’d yell at you, not obedient enough, not good enough for you to be called there’s.
It didn’t help you were stuck in a heat, nothing you did could even suppress it. You didn’t have the money for the suppression tablets that you used to take, your job was going through a crash and you were suffering from it. You were practically bait just waiting to be taken by an Alpha.
The whine of a police siren stopped you, looking over you watched the black and white car pull besides you. You stepped towards it hesitantly, and the window opened. Your nose filled with the scent of alpha, almost sickly sweet and heavy with sweat. You were expecting a big guy, but instead it was a petite blonde, who gave you a soft smile, waving towards you.
“ hey, what’s got you walking out here all alone? It’s a stormy mess. “
“…I missed the bus, I’ll be fine. “
“ you scared of the scent? I ain’t gonna do nothing to you dear, I’m an officer. Can I give you a ride, I’d hate to see you out here any longer.”
You were hesitant to answer. She was clearly official, the badge, the gun, the car obviously. But you were still weary. Her blue eyes shown with only kindness, it wouldn’t hurt, and you were a while from home.
“ alright maam…thank you officer…”
She unlocked the door, and you quickly got in, closing your umbrella and keeping it between your feet.
“ just call me Vanessa. What’s you name hun. “
“ Y/N. “
“ well Y/N, Where’s your home, I’m sure someone’s worried about ya. “
“ 146 WestWood avenue, I live in the apartment building there….and no..no one’s waiting for me. Not anymore atleast…“
Vanessa pulled back onto the road, she clicked her tounge, adjusting her radio on her hip and glancing over at you.
“ awfully sorry to hear that dear. You wanna talk about it..? “
She obviously wasn’t trying to get in Your legs, maybe she just hadn’t noticed your heat yet. You where ways told how tough and intimidating alphas where, but she was sweet, gentle, the complete opposite of what you where taught to respect.
“ my former spouse…they where a delta..said I wasn’t good enough for them..I wasn’t obedient enough. So they left me for some skimpy little omega. It’s why I was walking home…I don’t have a car, and any money I get right now is going towards bills “
“ oh dear. How awful is that…some people just don’t know how to treat a girl these days. Always expecting there omega to be perfect little things for them. Shame you’ve never had a real alpha..treat you good is what they’d do. “
You blushed, gripping you pants. Was that, attraction? Nonsense, she was just beings nice, she wouldn’t make a move on you that fast would she?
“ h-hehe…s-shame I might never know…”
“ nonsense…”
As she pulled up to the stop light, she turned to you, holding you chin. Your heat in you made you want to lunge into her and make out with her right here, but you were self trained enough to know better.
“ you just need to find the right one~ “
You never had this feeling, even from your ex spouse. Vanessa chuckled, and turned back to the road. You were confused, but warm, was this attraction? It couldn’t be, why would you be.
Vanessa pulled up to your apartment building, it was anything pretty. A worn down old building with rotting architecture. You gripped your umbrella as you slowly got out of the car, looking back at Vanessa.
“ you sure you good sweetheart? “
“ y-yeah…I’ll be ok..thank you officer. “
“ what’d I tell ya, you can just call me me Vanessa. I’m of shift anyway. Have a good night “
“ yes…well..I have some homemade soup cooking right now…would you wanna join me..? “
Vanessa smiled, hoping out of the car and locking it. She waked up to you and help your hand that was holding your umbrella.
“ I thought you’d never ask. “
*~*
You both had an Italian wedding soup with garlic bread for dinner, followed by a gentle conversation about eachother over wine. Something about her made you melt, it could just be the police uniform she was still in, maybe it was just how her eyes looked like little pools of water, or maybe it was just because this heat was so bad you’d take anything you could get.
“ so, Y/n. Have you got a nest built? “
“ Huh-?? “
“ well, that heat seems like it’s not going away anytime soon. I atleast hope you have somewhere comfy your curling up. “
Your face grew red at the question, she knew about the heat, you were stupid to think she didn’t. You gripped your pants and glanced off.
“ my beds all made up..pushed against the wall so I can curl up in it…”
“ good.”
“ why do you ask, Vanessa…”
Vanessa swirled her wine, before throwing back the last bit. Her eyes glanced across the room, before back at you, smiling softly.
“ just curious. if you needed some help finishing it I wouldn’t mind at all. “
“ o-oh uhm…I..I did get this big new comforter I can’t seem to..get over my bed..would you wanna help with that~? “
You both stood up, looking up at her with your big doe eyes.
“ I wouldn’t love anything more beautiful~ “
This was wrong. A random girl, a random alpha in your home, and now you were leading her to your nest, your little spot in this world. Your bedroom was the nicest room in the apartment, your bed all covered in multiple blankets and pillows to keep you comfy. You grabbed the new comforter, opening it from its packaging. Vanessa was silent behind you, before you felt her big hands grab your waist. You didn’t pull away, letting her feel up and down your delicate waist.
“ that feel good baby? “
“ mhm…such a strong grip on me…”
She pushed her head onto your shoulder, grinding on you gently.
“ well, I can’t let you get away now. You let me into your nest…”
“ and maybe i don’t want you to go away Vanessa~ “
You gridded back against her, whimpering softly. You could feel her bulge forming from under her tight uniform. She helped you throw the comforter over the nest before humping your ass.
“ you see what you do to me princess~? Fuck…I’m gonna have to fill you with my pups now~ “
“ o-officer~….”
You turned around, and she pulled you into a deep kiss, her lips practically eating your mouth. You held onto her waist, fiddling with her belt.
“ V-Vanessa….”
“ shh…poor little mutt…all pent up with that poor heat…let me take care of it…”
Vanessa slipped her fingers around your waistband, quickly pulling them down. You wore a pair of panties that were soaked through, slick coating your folds and upper thighs.
“ look at you…all this for me baby~? “
“ y-yeah….i-i cant help it…”
“ yeah? All dirty for me baby? “
Vanessa quietly unbuckled her belt, stripping off her pants to be let with a pair of navy blue boxer briefs on. Her bulge was big through it, and the tip just poked out the top.
“ big isn’t it baby? Bigger than that ex of yours? “
“ yes Vanessa…m-much..much bigger…”
She finally dropped her boxers, letting the full thing throb against your ass. It had to off been at least 9 inches, and it was thick. You could see the knot beginning to form at its base.
“ you gonna take this baby? Gonna let me stuff you good…? “
You let yourself fall backwards into the bed, keeping your legs spread open for her to gawk at.
“ I-I’m all your Vanessa. P-please officer…m-mate me…”
Vanessa let out a low growl, pinning you down in the bed. Her breath was warm against your neck, and she kissed down your face, leaving small bites on your cheeks and earlobes. She stripped your panties off and tossed them to the side, grinding against your soft folds.
“ s-stop teasing…please just fuck m-me…”
“ your little delta may of used you up quickly…but i…I savor my meal…what i do to you..”
You whined as she continued to thrust against your folds, before letting it finally slip in. You moaned out in a pleasured relief, your head going back against the soft blankets.
“ s-so…so tight..fuck..”
Vanessa got to a steady pace, holding you down tighter every time you squirmed from its size. Your moans would grow louder every time she’d thrust in deeper, panting into your chest. She stripped off your shirt and bra, gawking down at your tits.
“ V-Vanessa…nessa please it’s s-so big!! S’to big!! “
“ Quiet baby…I-I’m having fun here…Ima…Ima make you feel good soon gorgeous…”
She bent down and burried her face between your tits, thrusting in harder. Her dick was practically ripping you in half, making sure that your hole would only take her. You’d cry out, and she’d shut you up by thrusting in deeper, making you want to whine and moan louder.
“ who’s pretty pussy is this huh? Who’s it belong too y/n. “
“ Y-you!! I-it belongs to you Vanessa!! “
“ absolutely it does..f-fuck feels..feels s’good….”
With a quick movement, Vanessa grabbed your arms and held them above your head, leaning down into your neck. You were about to complain, before feeling her night down on your neck. And she bit hard. She was marking you, marking you as hers and hers only.
“ V-Vanessa!! “
She only groaned in response, throwing herself back and picking you up, sitting you ontop of her cock. She held your hips and thrusted into you deeper.
“ F-fuck!! N-nessy its t-to much!! I-I’m gonna cum! P-please please I-i can’t!! “
“ My…my girl…m-mine…my pretty girl…f-fuck..take it..take every last drop I give you “
And with that she slammed into you, you practically screamed out in a mix of pleasure and pain. You felt her knot locked in you, and you struggled to regain your breath. You felt her cum filling you, and you could only lay into her as you could feel yourself cumming with her.
“ A-h…ah…v-va…Vanessa…”
“ shh..so good y/n…so good…gentle, get some sleep…I’ll hold you..”
You didn’t argue, you held her tightly and met your eyes close, kissing her nose gently.
“ I l-love you vaness….”
“ i love you too y/n…”
*~*
You woke up surrounded by the comfort of your nest, but your legs twitched with pain. Vanessa must of got loose in the middle of the night, and gone home. You groaned, trying to cling to her scent, before hearing a knock on the door, Vanessa slowly made her way in.
“ I’m so sorry I was gone y/n. I ran to the bathroom. Do you need anything? Money, water, food? Let me look at your mark real quick too. “
Vanessa was quick to tend to whatever you needed. She delicately looked at the mark on your neck, before giving it a gentle kiss.
“ d-does this mean I’m your m-mate now nessy…? “
“ only if you want. But let me take you to dinner first, then you can choose. I’m sorry about it..I was stuck in the moment, and I just need you closer…so my instincts took over and I..marked you…I’m sorry hun..”
You kissed her gently, holding her hands and laying on her.
“ you did nothing wrong…w-will you make me breakfast..? “
“ of course hun. You stay here, soak up my scent. I love you y/n. “
“ I love you t-to Vanessa…”
Vanessa chuckled, slowly getting up and heading out of the room. You nuzzled into the pillows and sniffed each one. Her scent was everywhere, the sickly sweet scent mixed with sweat. But you could also smell fresh cucumber, mandarin, and eucalyptus. You smiled, hugging a pillow tightly and you began to drift off again.
You finally had the alpha you were always told you’d have. But yours was different, she was tought, but gentle. She was possesive, but kind and loving. And you wouldn’t have your Vanessa any other way.

The Daughter - Chapter Four
Tim Gutterson x OC (FanFiction) - MATURE 18+
Tim Gutterson comes to the unconventional aid of one Elenora Crowder, ward of Art Mullen and daughter of Raylan Givens.
This will be a multi chapter story and will get spicy as it goes. This is a rough draft and only slightly edited for grammar and spelling. Just needed to finally get it out because Tim Gutterson is one of my favorite characters, and there is not nearly enough fanfic for him.
Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three,
Tumblr media
Chapter Four:
“You know you don’t have to come.” Said Elenora as she walked through the dark, along the concrete driveway next to Tim. The house in front of them was massive, white wooden siding and stone archways. It was in the nicer part of Lexington, the type of house that had more bathrooms than bedrooms. There were lamp posts near the entrance that lit the large white porch and entry way.
“And miss the chance to see what you’re like plastered? No way, Ma’am.” Tim replied with a laugh.
Elenora rolled her eyes as the two of them came to a stand at the doorway to the house. “I will not get plastered. Moving day is tomorrow, you know.” Reaching forward, Elenora pressed the doorbell and then casually smoothed out her simple knee length burgundy dress. It had no sleeved, but a high buttoned up collar. She had used a large and chunky brown leather belt with it, and her favorite cowboy boots. Tim had opted for a grey button down no tie, black jeans and his usual boots. The party was supposed to be dressy casual.
“Oh, I know. It was mighty nice of Art to volunteer us all. He even said the new guy is comin’ out to help. Still think you should have worn the hat. Who could have thought you could go from sexy school teacher to sexy cowgirl?”
“New guy?” Elenora began, as she ignored the rest of Tim’s comments. “You tellin’ me that you aren’t short man on the totem pole anymore?”
“Yeah, he starts the day after tomorrow, I guess. Said little else.”
The door to the house was flung open and arms enveloped Elenora. “NORA! YOU MADE IT!”
Stumbling back with the force, Elenora as well wrapped her arms around the girl, although it was more out of fear of falling than anything. She saw Tim’s arm shoot out in response and felt his light touch where his hand contacted the spot between her shoulder blades.
When the girl pulled away, she looked at Elenora and then at Tim. “Hey, I know you.”
“Tim, Mandy, Mandy, Tim.” Elenora introduced one to the other. “Mandy is the one that sent you that picture on my behalf, and Tim is the Deputy that arrested me.”
“Nora, didn’t know you had it in you.” Said Mandy, as she eyed Tim like he was a piece of meat. “Wait, I don’t know if I can let you in here...” Elenora and Tim had already discussed the fact that there would be underage drinking and, most likely, marijuana at the party.
Tim stuck a finger from each hand into a belt loop and cracked a smile. “I’m off the clock. Unless one of your guests decides to shoot someone, or has an outstanding warrant, you won’t have any problems with me.”
“Good, now come on, I wanna know all the details. Like if you guys hooked up before or after processing, cause this prude will never tell me anything about her sex life.” Mandy hooked her arm into Tim’s and directed him inside.
“Ma’am, I hate to disappoint but I’m not one to kiss and tell.”
Mandy craned her head back to Elenora, who was still standing at the doorway. “He called me Ma’am!” She then let out a giggle.
“Yeah, he likes to do that.” Smiled Elenora as she moved to follow Tim and Mandy.
When they entered, the party was already in full swing. There were people everywhere, mainly they were Education students, but there were many that Elenora did not recognize. There were even a few Professors and their spouses. Elenora and Tim were led into the kitchen where there were buckets filled with ice hosing bottles of beer and coolers. Elenora watched one person open a fridge, which looked to only contain more beer. There was mix and hard liquors on the counter, as well as red solo cups everywhere. She could hear people cheering somewhere else in the house. It was here that Mandy finally released Tim and told them to help themselves. Tim fished out a bottle of beer and held it out towards Elenora, who took it with a smile.
At some point in the night, Elenora was dragged away from Tim, although he had found someone that he knew, a man in the Lexington PD who had also served. He was married to one of the professors, so Elenora did not feel too bad leaving him behind while she did some shots.
“We’re done bitches!” One girl screamed, and the ring of girls, including Elenora, tossed back a shot of whiskey. Elenora slammed her glass down with a smile and looked at her friends, who were all as equally happy and drunk.
“That hot piece of man can’t take his eyes off of you, Nora.”
“He called me Ma’am when they came in. It was the cutest thing.” Mandy said with a hand to her heart.
Elenora looked over her shoulder to see Tim in the next room. He was leaning against a doorframe, taking a swig of his beer while the surrounding group conversed. His eyes, though, were hard set on her. It was a look that made her knees weak and her skin go warm. Elenora loved the way he looked at her. “He is a pretty great catch, isn’t he?”
With a confidence that could only be fueled by the copious amounts of alcohol she had drank, she smirked at Tim. Elenora eyed him and tried to convey every emotion she was feeling and Tim responded with a raised brow. “Someone hold my dress.” Turning and heading out to the deck that was off the kitchen, Elenora waited as her friends gathered around her before looking at the man holding the spout for the beer keg. “You ready?” She asked. He nodded with a smile and presented the keg to her.
“All yours, little lady. You ready?” With a nod, Elenora threw her hands on the handles and pushed off with her legs. Swinging herself over, she felt someone grab her legs to stabilize her, and she felt her dress fall in the wrong direction, before hastily being grabbed and brought back to cover her modesty. The man holding the spout held it to Elenora’s lips and opened it, and she began to drink. Her heartbeat pounded in her head as the seconds went by, and she was sure she could hear people were cheering her on, although it was hard to make out what they were saying.
When she couldn’t go any longer, she let her legs fall back down and the spout pulled away. Once she was upright, she brought the back of her hand to her lips and wiped away the beer that had dribbled on her. Then she turned around. The crowd of people cheered her on, probably more so because she did not immediately hurl like many before her. Elenora’s eyes though searched the crowd until she found Tim.
He was standing there, one arm folded over the other across his chest. There was a smile on his lips and his eyes narrowed as she stood in place, just watching him. She felt someone slap a hand on her shoulder in congratulations and one of her male classmates come up, hugged her, and lifted her into the air before spinning her around. When her feet were back on the ground, her eyes found Tim’s once again and he was looking at her now like she had something on her face.
Elenora looked at him quizzically, but her question was interrupted by Mandy bringing her yet another shot of whiskey. “So, does he have a brother? Please say he has a brother?”
“I’m not sure. We have avoided the topic of family pretty heavily.” Elenora downed the shot and watched as Tim approached the two of them.
“Well, if he does, I call dibs.”
“If he does what?” Asked Tim with a sly smile as he came to stand next to Elenora. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against him.
“Oh, I was just wondering if there was a way to get me one of you.” Mandy said with a smile.
“Sorry to disappoint Ma’am, but there’s only one of me, and I’m kind of stuck on this one here.” Said Tim, before twisting his head to place a kiss on Elenora’s hair.
“Just make sure I get an invitation to the wedding.” Said Mandy before she turned and walked away.
Leaning his head down to Elenora’s ear, she could smell the beer on his breath. “Wanna get out of here?”
“I’d be good with that.” Elenora replied.
“Good, because I already called us a taxi.”
With a nod, Elenora and Tim walked through the house and out the front door to stand on the porch while they waited for the Taxi. Elenora watched as Tim fidgeted with the bottom of his shirt as he stared off out into the yard. “What you thinkin’ about there, solider?” Asked Elenora as she leaned herself against one of the porch beams, and folded her arms across her chest.
“Honestly? Just waitin’ for the ball to drop.” He stopped fidgeting then and took the few steps to stand in front of Elenora. Reaching out, Tim put his hands to her hips and pulled himself as close as he could. He tipped down his head to put his forehead against hers and brought his nose to touch her own. “You’re too good. Too perfect, and those things in my life don’t tend to stay that way. Keep expecting to see your arrest warrant come across my desk, or for you to tell me that while this was fun but your boyfriend is coming home tomorrow.”
“Ouch, hate to be one of your Ex’s.” Elenora put her hands to Tim’s forearms and smiled. “But Tim, neither of those things are gonna happen. What’s got you thinkin’ like this?”
“There’s something about you that makes me feel like I’ve known you my whole life and you got me thinkin’ in all sorts of ways I’ve never thought before.”
“Oh, and what would those be, Marshal?”
“Girl’s gotta’ have some secrets.”
“Okay, you can keep your secrets, but only if you take me to the range. I haven’t gotten my carry and conceal, and my daddy keeps buggin’ me. Threaten to come out here, and I’d really rather that not happen, as I like you with no bullet holes.”
“Is this the alcohol talking, or are you just tryin’ to get me hard? Talkin’ bout going to the shooting range. It’s like you’re made from my dreams.” Tim’s lips crashed against her own, his tongue swiping across her lips, in a request to deepen the kiss, and Elenora complied. Opening her mouth, she allowed Tim entry and soon her tongue was against his own and Elenora found her knees going weak, just as Tim finally pulled away. “Wait, do you even know how to fire a gun?” He pulled back slightly and stared down at her with a questioning gaze.
“You really think my Deputy Marshal of a father wouldn’t teach me how to shoot?”
Tim’s hands tightened on Elenora’s hips. “Hey, just wondering what I have to work with here.”
Elenora opened her mouth to respond, but a loud succession of car honks interrupted her. Both of them turned to see a taxi had pulled up along the driveway. “Come on, our carriage awaits.” Tim pulled away from Elenora but reached out to take her hand in his, and he walked away. When she did not move, though, the resistance made him stop and look back at her.
“I don’t need to worry bout you gettin’ scared and runnin’ do I?”
“We’re good Nell. I’ll let you know, though, if my feet start getting an itch.” Tim said with a smile.
“Good, cause I’m an excellent runner, and you, Tim Gutterson, are worth runnin’ for.”
“You know you’ve never told me your last name?”
“I’m not wearing my runnin’ shoes for that answer. So try to keep an even pace for me, okay?” Tim nodded his head in response and just stared at her with a smile. “It’s Crowder.” Elenora broke her eyes away from Tim as she felt his hand drop from her own and she looked down at the ground.
It was a split second later when she saw Tim’s feet in front of her and felt a finger curl around her chin, pulling up and forcing her to look at him. “Well, there’s a name that keeps coming across my desk, but you’re gonna have to do better than being a Crowder to scare me away.”

“WELL,” HYUNJAE LAUGHED. He lit his cigarette and watched you storm out with tears forming in your eyes, leaving the table empty with radio silence. It was awkward. “That was quite unnecessary, don’t you think?”
Juyeon, from across the table didn’t respond, but it was noticeable from the mocking and smug grin on his face that he had enjoyed whatever shit-show that he was currently watching.
“Younghoon,” Hyunjae finally addressed him, noticing how Younghoon was avoiding his eyes on purpose. He forced eye contact as he locked eyes with him. “We do so hate to be so nosy, however we’ve told you many times that if you wish to seek such power from shiny magazines or public position, your spouse would simply have to find somebody else. Somebody like them.”
“Given the past that a person like Y/N has,” Juyeon continues smoothly, knowing exactly where Hyunjae was going with his small speech. “It’s — how do I say this? Very unusual for them to be with someone like you.”
“They don’t deserve you, Mr. Kim.” Hyunjae, finally said. Finally stating what he meant to say in the beginning. He watched Younghoon’s eyes move from his and settle onto the table in front of him, he tried to decode the emotions that Younghoon was feeling but his eyes were simply full of nothing but emptiness. He hid his feelings well, he’d give him that.
Hyunjae picked up his cigarette and released the toxins into the air, waiting for a response.
And he received one.
As the two men waited for Younghoon to respond — or to at least react, he abruptly stood up from his chair and walked to the end of the room. His careful footsteps thudded loudly onto the fragile floor, reaching a small table full of alcoholic beverages from different kinds of brands. He picked one up and poured himself a drink in a small expensive looking glass.
He sipped from the drink and kept the glass with him as he returned to the table, walking towards them but not sitting down. He stopped and pointed towards Hyunjae’s direction, finally responding; “you know the thing is Hyunjae, you’re right,” Younghoon raised his glass as he addressed him, while his words shocked the both of them as Juyeon’s eyebrows rose in surprise. “You’re right, they don’t deserve me.”
Before anyone could take a quick breath, Younghoon continued without stopping. “They don’t deserve what I am. They don’t deserve what I will become.”
“What will you become?” Juyeon asked with a rough voice.
Younghoon ignored Juyeon’s question and only continued further, not missing a beat. “Truth is, I belong here at this table,” he pointed at the table that was served with food and drinks that he hadn’t touched. “With fuckers like you. They don’t.”
“But as much as I try to hide it,” he laughed, picking up his small glass of alcohol, “I’m just one of you.” He looked back at his glass and took a deep breath, chuckling to nobody but himself. “Could’ve been a sadder ending, right?”

What Next Oh Fair Yorrick? (Mirror’s Edge)
Holy shhhhh 3 months? I was gone three months from this story? I am bad at this (actually we were fixing up the house in that time and boi has it been an inconvenience.) But I'm here and so is the next chapter yay! I promise all my writing in general will be more tightly packed and consistent. Unless it's not then you know life got me.
Okay. It's....alot just *gestures to the world* one thing after another and. Just lose yourself here. Disconnect from the world, have fun, read this and other stories. Don't feel guilty if you need to get away from it all. It's okay to just exist and enjoy things. Be safe, keep each other safe, wear masks. I know they're annoying but we're not done yet, the pandemic is still a thing and there's plenty of people who cannot get the vaccine. We need to protect them and each other. Get the vaccine, push for it worldwide cuz we're all in this together. And have fun. Have fun and relax and just let the world be without you for a hot minute.
Also if you are binge reading this, i doubt it but who knows im very modest, here's your break. go stretch, get some water, eat, rest your eyes before you keep going.
Okay that's it for me! have an amazing week, thank you for everyone who reads this story, who gives me likes, and reblogs and views. I know original work is very specific and hit or miss but seriously thank you for reading this. I deeply appreciate it. :) Share with your friends maybe they'll like it! and if you wanna leave me a comment with your favorite bits or how much you like this story I'm always grateful for them. take care and it'll be okay.

Summary: Tomorrow has become today and Casey is ready to help the Gravekeeper of Souls stop whatever is threatening the peace of existence but first he needs to know what exactly is the next step in their plan. Surely Yorrick is on it.
----
Grandma Cassie bought the Remington household when she moved to Newton Haven roughly 30 some years ago and while neither her or her beloved spouse were around anymore, they left a loving home with precious memories Casey wouldn’t trade for the world.
That being said, however, Casey hadn’t stepped foot in his house for a while. He was embarrassed to finda fine layer of dust that blanketed everything and that hung in the air like snowfall. Yorrick mentioned she didn’t mind it so much because she slept in less accommodating places but the young cleric still felt the pang of guilt at the sight of his neglected home.
His parents decided to vacation after his mother retired from Willow’s Rook Neighborhood Watch and they spent the last two years abroad. His sister Kay had left a few years before that when she got married and though she still lived in the neighborhood, her visits were far and few in between. Truth was Casey ended up at her place more often than she did his. Simply put Casey was never home which was a bit ironic for a cleric of the hearth.
Two years.
Casey rubbed at his engagement ring absentmindedly as he entered the home under the glow of the rising sun.
The state of the house was actually worse than last night since he could actually see the dust this time.
“Am I working too much?” Casey rubbed his chin quizzically “No it’s the house that needs to clean itself. Yorrick? Good morning! Are you up?”
Only the creaking of the home settling answered him.
Casey frowned, sliding his bat into his hand while he quietly made his way towards the second floor landing. He left her in his old room upstairs but in reality she had run of the place since he slept in his office as usual.
The stairs groaned under his weight but the silence remained, thick and unbroken.
Casey gripped his weapon tightly when he reached the top. He paused, listening in case something was laying in wait.
Out of everything he was expecting to hear, the trill of a flute wasn’t one of them.
It chirped and squeaked but less like it was playing a song and more as if it was speaking.
Now that he was this close to his room he heard the muffled voice of Yorrick speaking to someone though only the flute responded.
“Are you still mad about that? I couldn’t take you yesterday.”
The flute trilled unhappily.
“I don’t care if you could take them on.” Yorrick snickered gently “You are a thousand years old!You need to act your age.”
A sharp note answered her.
Casey could hear Yorrick rising to her feet “Okay but after we’re done saving the world. Again. Did you notice it?”
A curious note played.
“Yeah. I don’t like it.”
The flute did not respond this time.Instead Yorrick’s footsteps grew louder until she opened the door and saw him standing there.
Casey caught sight of an odd shape ducking out of view as Yorrick hurriedly closed the door behind her.
“Hi!” she beamed brightly, giving a cheery wave with her free hand. The other held tight onto the walking staff, rusty lantern swinging lazily back and forth.
Casey gave a polite smile “Good morning. I yelled from the front door but I don’t think you heard me.”
“You did?” Yorrick frowned quizzically, trying to recall “Oh I didn’t hear you! Well, obviously.”
She chuckled joyfully and Casey nodded in agreement “I understand. You were probably still asleep huh?”
“No I was talking to a spirit.”
Yorrick’s tone was casual but her gaze was intense and focused. It was a bit unnerving but luckily this wasn’t the first time she’d done something like that.
He decided to be honest “I know, I heard.”
“Not worried I’m possessed or something like that?”
“Nope.” Casey replied “You’re the Gravekeeper of Souls. The name kinda tells me what to expect.”
Yorrick’s lips broke into a wide grin “Thank the lantern! You have no idea how much spirits spook people. I get people don’t like dealing with death and denial is a powerful tool but come on! If a spirit wanted to hurt you it would’ve done it by now. Oh! That reminds me! Kal! You can come on out now!”
Kal the spirit looked more like a floating pillowcase than the ghost of a person long past: Kal’s upper half was oval shaped with a wavy bottom. He couldn’t have been taller than two feet and he floated through the air effortlessly. Kal passed through the door like it wasn’t there and began circling Casey, clearly curious at his presence.
Kal made a questioning noise.
“Yep!” Yorrick answered eagerly “He’s the one Cassie was telling us about. You remember the nice lady? Casey here is going to help us take down whatever is disrupting the spiritual balance!”
She clapped excitedly though Kal’s only response was to bob up and down.
“Well I am more than happy to….” Casey paused, unsure he heard what he thought he did “Wait. Did you say Cassie?”
Yorrick nodded.
“Cassie? As in Cassiopeia?”
Another nod.
Casey gulped anxiously “As in Cassiopeia Remington?”
Yorrick pointed his way in confirmation “That’s her! She was telling me all about you last night! Like the time you tried to ride the dog like a horse and ended up getting that scar on your knee.”
The Gravekeeper’s face turned deathly serious for a moment “Why haven’t you cleaned the house Casey?”
“E-excuse me?” he could feel chills run down his spine.
“The house.” Yorrick repeated, her voice empty and distant “She wanted to know why her house is so dusty. She did not raise your mother to raise you to keep a dirty house.”
“I…”
Yorrick waved her hand in a panic “Those were her words, not mine! I was just repeating what she said!”
Casey paled as realization dawned on him. He’d always assumed his grandma passed on peacefully but if she was still here, still held here by some regret or sorrow or something he should’ve tried to get her to move on years ago….
“She’s not here.”
Casey snapped out of his stupor to find Yorrick staring intently at him.
“What?”
“She’s not here.” Yorrick repeated firmly with a soft, sympathetic tone “She did pass on.”
“How do you…?”
She grimly motioned to the lantern “Spirits are more complicated than that. Most people always assume souls are trapped in this reality because X, Y or Z but the truth is it’s a choice. It’s always a choice and just because people move on doesn’t mean they can’t come back for awhile. No different than traveling to another city for them.”
Casey’s face must’ve been dumbfounded because Yorrick gave a hearty laugh “Yeah there’s a lot to spirits but you’ll get the hang of it. Or you won’t! That’s okay too.”
“Yorrick….” guilt tugged at his heartstrings
“Okay.” Yorrick bit her lip thoughtfully “What is the best way to….Oh! Here touch this!”
Before he could react, she gripped his wrist and roughly placed his hand upon a nearby wall.
“Sorry.” Yorrick flinched and gave an apologetic smile “But here! Do you feel this?”
“Yes.” Casey nodded, unsure what he was supposed to feeling.
“And the air? How it fills your lungs? The dust tickling your nose?”
Casey winced guiltily “Oh lord, don’t remind me but yeah I do.”
Yorrick pulled away hurriedly, clearly caught up in her explanation “We use our senses to perceive the world around us. Sight, touch, sound, smell, taste if you’re weird. This is how we navigate life right?”
Casey gave a quick nod.
“Now how could you go through life if you didn’t have any of that?”
Casey’s face narrowed, scrunching as he tried to wrap his head around the question. He thought about it. He thought about for a good minute or so but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t figure a way to explain how could he live his life without relying on his senses.
“I...don’t know….” Casey truthfully spoke after a long pause.
“Exactly!” Yorrick cheerfully gestured to Kal “Spirits don’t have senses. They don’t even have bodily functions anymore! They exist in a reality we mortal beings just can’t understand.”
“Okay but what does this have to do with my grandma Cassie?”
“EVERYTHING!” Yorrick cheered.
Silence fell over the two.
Casey looked at Kal then to Yorrick then back to Kal again.
Yorrick blinked “Oh right. The actual point I’m trying to make.”
“Yes please.”
“Okay.” Yorrick scratched her chin absentmindedly “This feels good. Right. So spirits see the world differently than us. While we deal buildings and air and sky and cars and all that real stuff, they….don’t.”
“Right.” Casey agreed.
“For spirits it’s like being trapped in a fog. A fog that has loads of different shapes and colors but fog nevertheless. Since they don’t have bodies to react to the physical world they can get easily lost which is why they usually tethered themselves to something. Places, items, people.”
“A home perhaps?” Casey whispered as guilt ate at his stomach.
“No!” Casey jumped as Yorrick stomped her foot suddenly “None of that! Spirits are either tethered or, the other thing I was about to mentioned, untehtered. Oooo terminology!”
Casey made an uneasy face “So...grandma Casie is….”
“Unethered!” Yorrick bounced happily “When she died she moved from her mortal coil to the afterlife, which of course is the chosen state of existence a spirit has earned based their actions on Earth. She went peacefully so no beating yourself up.”
“Wait hang on. Then how did you talk to her? The lantern?” Casey was admittedly lost at all this.
Yorrick pursed her lips “Well. A little of A and a little of B. Yes the lantern allows me to speak to spirits, even those who have long since passed, but any powerful spirit medium, spiritualist or relic could do that. I still need to know her if I wanted to bring her back for a visit.”
“Things aren’t powerful because they are. Things are powerful because we make them so.” Yorrick touched the wall and ran her finger down it gingerly “This home, her home, her family’s home. It is so filled with love it’s a beacon to her. A lighthouse in the sea of fog that is the living world. Memory is too powerful a force to be bound by a single person. It takes people to make memories. Even when the people who made them aren’t around to share them anymore. Especially when they’re gone.”
She carefully wiped the dust off a nearby picture frame. Casey could fell his heart ache at the sight of him and Jaime, smiles frozen in time.
“Love.” Yorrick murmured quietly before she spoke louder with clarification “Well also hate. Intense emotions really. Unetethered find their way back through the fog via places or people that meant something to them. Good or bad. Us spirit folks are just connecting them from their world to ours for a little while. A telephone line basically. Because no one is really gone.”
Yorrick stared at the large, aged photo that hung in the center of the hall: A young couple, hands clasped tightly with one another as they shared a smile together. They stared, not at the camera, but deeply into each other’s eyes, love evident in every fiber of their being.
His grandparents on the day of their wedding.
She let out an adoring sigh “Not if we remember them.”
There was a peaceful moment that was quickly broken by a sudden clap from the Gravekeeper.
“And of course.” Yorrick went on without warning “Tethered spirits tie themselves down. Most of the time it’s something or someone important but it’s not unheard of for them to latch on whatever happens to be nearby. Hence the tethered part of the term. They use these tethers as ways to hold themselves in place so they don’t get swept up by the massive confusion of the physical world. Think anchors: Nice, consistent, unmovable against the tide but always have the chance to relocate.”
Casey scratched his chin curiously “oh that does feel good. So those tethered spirits, are they trapped here?”
Yorrick shook her head happily “Nope! They can choose to leave any time they wish. There’s loads of reasons spirits would stay beyond love and revenge. Some just aren’t ready to move on yet, others kind of forget to. Some, of course, are avoiding their punishment for the life they led cause they don’t get an option to come back. Heck I meet one who was just curious about how much a place could change in a hundred years.”
“So what do you do exactly as Gravekeeper?”
“Keep graves.” She answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Casey stared at her.
“Right broad blanket term and not at all helpful. Well my job is to check on the spirits.” “Time is irrelevant for the dead. What is one day, a decade, hundreds of years to them? All feels the same when you lack a body to worry about. Some souls are stuck in place because they have no idea how long it’s been. They usually start haunting people or places because of sudden changes most of the time.”
Casey nodded in understanding “That makes sense. If I had no sense of time and my surroundings suddenly changed completely, I’d be pretty disoriented and upset too.”
“Exactly.” Yorrick smiled for a second before it faded into a grim expression “Of course I also protect the souls. Souls are valuable to a lot of creatures and in all kinds of dark magic. Corruption, consumption, even using spirits as fuel for dark purposes is a very real thing in my line of work.”
Casey remembered Finn’s encounter in Litwick forest along the countless other dangerous situations the trio often found themselves in. His best friend’s general advice was to grant funeral rites to the departed and burn their corpses. He always said it was to protect both body and spirit and while Casey was more than happy to do it but it just occurred to him how important it really was.
Her blew a strand of her hair out of her face as she continued “So I check up on cemeteries and other meaningful locations. Help spirits pass on, force them to move on if they’re causing trouble.” she began to count off the rest of her duties on her hand “Cleansing tainted or corrupted places, pass messages along to the living, fight the odd demon or fae on occasion. Find a way to achieve harmony between the dead and living in the cases where there’s conflict between the two. Holy shit do I do a lot, I just realized that.”
“You’re clearly very capable at it.” Casey said with a hint of admiration.
Yorrick rose to full height, towering over the cleric while she shone with pride “I don’t want to brag and I won’t cuz I don’t have to.”
“Of course.” Casey took a deep breath in “Okay, what are we doing?”
She stared at him for a moment before realizing what he was asking “Oh! us. Umm. What are we doing?”
“The reason you’re here.” Casey offered helpfully.
“Oh right! The spirit-pocalypse I’m here to stop.” Yorrick chuckled “Sorry I’m not used to the living. Most people just stare at me with glazed over eyes. It’s a lot I know but thanks for following along!”
A peaceful silence overtook the two but Casey decided to wait patiently this time.
Yorrick smacked her head “Right right. I recommend we eat first, preferably on the way to the nearest cemetery.”
Casey nodded “Straight from the source right?”
Yorrick smiled wide.
“Well.” he scratched his chin thoughtfully “The nearest one is Hope’s Meadow in the middle of town. There’s a really good sandwich shop nearby we can get breakfast at.”
“There isn’t a cute girl there, right?”
Casey shot her a curious look. Her face was flushed with embarrassment.
“I went to a cafe for a drink yesterday.” Yorrick muttered shyly as she twiddled her fingers together “There was a really pretty girl named My-something. I didn’t pay attention, I got really nervous. I don’t think I can handle another cute girl today.”
Casey softened. He patted her arm gently “How about you let me do the ordering, okay?”
Yorrick nodded happily “Deal! Let me get my tombstone and we’ll be on our way!”
And as she disappeared beyond the door frame with an energetic hop, Casey couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
“Okay so she did say it her tombstone. I wasn’t just super tired and hearing things last night.”

Inspiration, Illusions, and Other Inconveniences 👀👀
Thanks for the ask, @louwhose, too! I'm very, very happy that you ask, since I'm planning to finally go back to this story soon!
This is going to be a fiction writer!Zelda/artist!Link story. It's a modern AU where both have a blog.
They’re both unaware of their respective online personalities, mainly because they don’t speak in real life thanks to their strained Princess/Bodyguard relationship.
Zelda rewrites the old legends into fictional (and explicit *cough, cough*) novels and shares them on her blog. Link is like everyone else in Castle Town intrigued by the stories and starts to make fanart for them. They begin chatting and start to fall for each other. In their real life, things get slowly better, too, very much better actually until Link does something that... Well. You'll see!
This story is relatively complicated to explain but easy to read, so don't worry if it's confusing now. I work with some betas to make sure everything makes sense in the end!
I've shared snippets here and here. I think there are some more buried in the wip Wednesday tag. I have 8 chapters finished so far and I'm aiming for... 20? Something like that.
Another snippet under the cut!
'You're late.'
The short message popped open as soon as the blog feature marked him as "online".
'Oh,' he typed hastily, 'Have we left the state of friendly greetings and went directly to grumpy spouses?'
'Haha, no. I was just wondering if you finally got sick of me.'
'Never.' The answer nearly typed itself.  'Did overtime and just got out of the shower. Weird day, tbh.'
'As in?'
Well. He couldn't tell her that he had accompanied the Princess of Hyrule to an old hotel in Castle Town where she took dozens of pictures only to directly leave again. He didn't even try to understand what that was about — she was safe, she did nothing risky and if her idea of freedom was taking the subway to a forgotten corner of Castle Town to take pictures, he wouldn't question that. Not his place, as always.
He still had neglected his duty and that was no small slip, but the suspicions ghosting through his mind when he followed her to the rooms had been so, so much worse. At least she hadn’t dragged him into something illegal or… dingy on top of the misery of breaking his vows. And who knew, maybe he was in luck and she had enough after the little adventure?
'Just… well. My employer is very strict about a lot of things and I had a conflicting task. But no worries, everything is fine now.'
'Ok? If you wanna talk…'
'Thanks, really, but it's all good.'
Link leaned back, poking his fork into his microwave curry. A moment of silence had become more and more comfortable over the last few weeks between them. He didn't fear the conversation would abruptly end anymore.
Of course, she would offer to listen. It was weird — he did have some workmates he got along well with, Pipit, Groose to name some, but their relationship was quite casual. His old friends from before he left for Castle Town were far away and he was bad at staying in touch. Both his working hours and the confidentiality rules weren't doing him any favors in this regard, so having someone openly care about him was something he didn’t realize he missed. Maybe he would open up to her one day, without details and names, but for now, he didn’t want to dump his worries on her.
'What about you?'
'Ah. Spent the day with my family who was as annoying as always. But!'
She took a break and Link grinned while he ogled the screen. She liked to do that, but she was a writer, after all, dramatic breaks and cliffhangers were her specialties.

Take Me Back | Sunwoo (The Boyz)
Tumblr media
Requested by anon! You broke up with Sunwoo because of long distance and he’s hated you ever since. When you meet up after three years, feelings resurface.
Genre: angst, ex to lovers au, enemies to lovers kinda, fluffy ending.
A/N: JESUS i know I said that I don’t have time because I LITERALLY DON’T. So don’t ask me why all this inspiration comes to me when I can’t even sit down to write -- I write on the way to and from work, it’s so sad -- so yeah. I hope you enjoy <3 <3
---------
Breaking up because of long distance was one of the biggest regrets of your life. The fact that you had to let him go because it was just getting too hard for your heart to cope was, in itself, heartbreaking. But you figured that it could get better, for the both of you, if you moved on with your lives without being tied at the hip with someone that was a continent away.
Except, the moment you had murmured your silent goodbyes, you had broken down into the most horrible, heartbreaking sobs that had ravaged your entire body. You cried and cried and cried, and wouldn't stop. The tears just wouldn't stop even when you told yourself that it was better this way, that he'd find someone better, stronger, it did nothing to ease the burning pain pulling your heartstrings apart.
One thing was for sure, Sunwoo's behaviour made things much easier. He'd grown distant first, curt and cold and isolating you, though you knew deep down it was a way to protect his own heart from the damage you'd inflicted on him.
But then he started ignoring your messages, spoke rudely whenever you did catch him on the phone. While you tried being understanding the first few times, you soon grew frustrated and annoyed that he'd act so childishly. The man you had once loved with all your heart had now been reduced to nothing but someone who kept digging holes into your heart.
You juggled the thought of asking him whether he hated your guts for what you did. You wouldn't judge him. On the contrary, you'd understand.
But you hadn't. Merely because the thought of losing him forever pained you.
Fast forward three years and here you were, sitting in a restaurant with a group of your high school friends, Sunwoo included. He'd nodded curtly at your appearance but did nothing more, causing your heart to squeeze in pain at the nostalgia kicking through your stomach.
"It's been years, Y/N. And you look the same," one of your good friends, Eric, jovially stated with a wink, already down by a few beers.
"Thanks Eric, I'll take that as a compliment."
"Don't go hitting on Sunwoo's ex with him right here," your classmate Raina said, "let's not end this dinner in a fight."
"I don't think Sunwoo minds," you mumbled loud enough for it to reach everyone's ears.
"You're right, I don't care," Sunwoo's voice -- still as deep, still as gorgeously beautiful and rough. An obvious contrast to the iciness of his words like pricks aimed at your heart.
You tried your best to brush off his comment, turning to Raina to ask her about any updates about her love life.
As the night wore on and people fell into deeper conversation, others left with excuses that they had spouses to return to, families waiting for them. Until there's only you and Eric in a corner, with Sunwoo at the bar, chatting up a gorgeous girl that looked like she had just walked out of a magazine spread.
"Still doesn't wanna talk huh?" Eric took a swig of his drink.
You shook your head, "he hates me, Eric."
"No he doesn't."
"Yes, he does.He can't even look at me in the eye without scowling."
"Bollocks. You just don't see it."
"What's there to see?" You scoffed, "if killing me was legal he would've done it ages ago."
Hesitating slightly, Eric takes another swig of his drink before replying, "look, I can't speak for him. But...you'll just have to talk to him yourself."
"Fuck no, I'm not doing that," you crossed your arms over your chest.
"Stubbornness never looked good on anyone."
You pulled out your tongue in response.
"Childish," Eric's eyebrow rose in amusement. Before you could defend yourself though, the said man turned to call out Sunwoo's name and you watched in growing horror as Sunwoo walked over to your table.
"Right," Eric jumped up from his seat as though it was on fire, "Sunwoo, keep her company. I'm off to see my girlfriend."
"What? No--" but Eric was already out of the door before Sunwoo's protests were heard, resulting in an awkward air hanging off your table the moment he turned, causing you to quickly drop your eyes to the beer you were nursing.
"You don't have to stay here," came your mumble.
You felt him shift in his seat before he said, "even if I am, I'm not doing this for you."
"I know," you shot back, gaze flitting up to clash with his mahogany orbs, ones that you remembered held so much love and tenderness before. They were now cold, dark with silent seething anger. You continued, "I know you're not. I never asked you to."
"Then stopping looking at me like that," he snapped, "you of all people should know how tough this is for me."
"Sunwoo, it's been three years--"
"Don't," he cut you off with a hiss, "talk about that."
Rage started to bubble in your stomach, "I don't understand whether you hate me, or whether you’ve just turned into this rude annoying person that nobody can stand.”
He seemed to have been slapped by your statement, stayed silent for a few minutes as he clasped his drink a little tighter.
Knowing Sunwoo, he was probably silently seething from what you'd just said. Your own fingers clenched around your beer, hating how easily he could upset you even after all these years.
When he spoke next, his alto was slightly softer, a little less harsh on you, "I don't hate you."
"Doesn't seem like it to me."
There was a pause in which you managed to recollect your emotions, the anger simmering down to cold remorse at how badly you had left things.
"I'm sorry," you murmured out, avoiding his eyes in case he saw the pain that consumed you, "I know it's not easy for you. It's not easy for me either."
"I don't hate you, Y/N," Sunwoo's alto was gentle this time, without any of the malice of the earlier hour, "I...It just hurts me, every time I see you I can't stop thinking of what we were before. I--" he shifted and you managed to lift your orbs up to his, only to see guilt swimming through his as he choked out, "I miss you."
Emotion tightened your chest. Tears rushed to your eyes, "I miss you too."
You stayed unmoving, your eyes saying everything that your words couldn't. The music boomed around you, filled the empty silence that would've swallowed you whole otherwise.
When you felt your ex-boyfriend move in your peripheral, you glanced at him, noticing for the first time the tired lines around his eyes. What looked like resignation was set on his face.
And then he was pushing his hair back, muttering a string of excuses about how he couldn't do this anymore before he walked right out of the bar, with you gaping at his retreating form.
"Sunwoo! Hey--" you scrambled up to chase after him, stumbling over your feet as you gripped your bag clumsily. Running out into the street to see him already steps ahead of you, you quickly jogged up to his frame, not taking into account the nervous fluttering through your chest.
"Hey, wait! Sunwoo!" You gripped onto his arm and pulled him back. He resisted.
You started blurting things out anyway, desperate to make things right, desperate to take away the pain he felt.
"Sunwoo I'm sorry," you stumbled on as he quickened his stride, "I never--I never meant to hurt you, I-- I thought that it was best for both of us at the time, I didn't--" your words were choked, laced with emotion, "I didn't know how hard it would be."
He stopped so abruptly you almost walked into his back.
His shoulders shook as he spoke, "when we broke up, I couldn't stop thinking. Did I do something wrong? Should I have done more?" He took a breath, "I wasn't living, Y/N. I barely ate. I kept seeing you everywhere I went. It was-- it was horrible," his alto broke at the last word.
You took a step closer. Tentative. Hesitant. Hands tightened into fists.
He continued, "and it never got better. I thought it would. That's what they all said. But three years have passed. Three years and I still feel like I lost the most precious fucking thing in my life and I can't live with myself because of that."
You couldn't feel your heart, which was tightening with pain and sympathy that mirrored his words. Memories of you crying into your pillow as you willed all of your love to disappear, memories of the dull ache stretching across your ribs because you had cried too much.
You opened your mouth, an apology on the tip of your tongue, when Sunwoo swivelled around so fast you barely blinked, his hands finding your shoulders in a tight grip.
"Y/N," His eyes were red and red-rimmed as they searched yours in growing desperation, "look Y/N, what I had-- what we had, I miss that. I miss us. Please, I--" swallowing thickly as his grip tightened on you, he continued, "you can do anything. Anything, Y/N. Break me. Use me. Do whatever the fuck you want but just-- just--" his chest heaved with a shaky inhale, a sob echoing from his throat, "just let me be yours again."
The silence that followed was deafening. You couldn't believe your ears. Your heart beat so loud you felt it vibrate against your ribcage.
His chest heaved, his breaths coming out short and static as he stared at you, waiting, hoping.
There were so many things, so many things you wished to say at this very moment, so many things that you had regretted the moment you had parted ways with this amazing man.
And now, to hear that he wanted you back, that he was still undoubtedly, irrevocably in love with you was enough to bring fresh tears to your eyes as another wave of pure hope crashed through your heart and flooding it with light.
"Y/N," Sunwoo searched your eyes, "say something--"
You did. Jumped up to press your mouth against his.
He stumbled, hands finding purchase at your waist.
And when he kissed you back, all thoughts flew out of your head only to leave Sunwoo's taste engulfing your entire being like you had never stopped loving him from the first day you met.
It was pure, utter bliss. It was like finding the lost lover that had parted ways with you at sea. Sunwoo's mouth was hard on your own as he moved with the same grace, the same fluidity that left you breathless. His grip tightened, fingers sliding under the hem of your shirt to rest on your lower back as sparks ignited beneath your half-closed lids. Everything came crashing back; the memories, the happiness, the giddy excitement that erupted in the form of goosebumps and electrical sizzles over your limbs whenever Sunwoo kissed you.
It had never stopped. And at this very moment, you wondered briefly why you had forced him away when your heart was still irrevocably his.
One hand coming up to cup your jaw, he proceeded to tilt your head back to suckle onto your lower lip, the action causing a gasp to die in your throat while your hands tightened around his neck, pulling him even closer if that was possible.
Sunwoo's chest rumbled with a choked up moan, tongue darting out to meet yours halfway while a soft whimper echoed through your throat. You tried to match his movements, to kiss back as passionately as he was kissing you. But it was almost like Sunwoo was trying his best to make up for all the time you's spent apart, his mouth permanently pressed on yours and when you turned to catch your breath, he kissed your cheek, the corner of your eye, pulling you into him to imprint another kiss at the base of your neck.
You shuddered with emotion, body lighting up on fire and heat pooling through your stomach. Turning your head back until your noses brushed, your breath caught when your eyes locked, for Sunwoo's gaze was one of fierce, intense affection, as though you were something he'd sworn to protect his whole life.
"Don't," his gaze softened, thumb brushing your lower lip, "don’t ever leave me again, I--” his own lips trembled, "I don't know how...how I'll live with myself if you do."
You knew that words were going to be useless at this point, so you just nodded, biting down on your lower lip as he leaned in and dropped a kiss near your temple.
It was weird after so long, to have his body so close and his scent overwhelming your senses, a reminder of many long nights where you'd cuddled up to sleep on his chest. Just the memory made your lips tilt into a soft amile.
That grabbed his attention, "what are you thinking about?" He murmured.
"About you," your soft maroon clash with his intense dark chocolate, "about how stupid it was to have given up on us, because all this time apart feels like a waste. And I feel so stupid."
"It's not your fault Y/N," he smoothed a hand over the side of your head as his gaze softened, "there were so many things working against us. And maybe-- maybe it was right, at this time."
Your head tilted upwards to watch him. You felt his fingers, absentmindedly drumming against your lower back and igniting a line of sparks up your spine.
He continued, "I wouldn't have known, how important you were to me, how you filled up such a major part of my life--Oh shit. You're crying?" He was quick to catch your incoming tear with his thumb, panic flashing through his features, "Y/N? What is it? What did I say?”
“Nothing, it’s nothing I just--I’m so sorry I broke up with you,” you blurted out as silent tears trailed down your cheeks. Shaking your head and looking up into his maroon orbs, you impulsively reached up to cup his face with your hands. Lucky, your subconscious chanted. You were lucky to have someone like him.
"Come here,” You didn’t protest when Sunwoo’s arms tugged you into his broad chest -- was it broader? You felt like it was-- before his head rested atop yours. Another softest of pecks was imprinted atop your forehead, then your nose, before he dipped his head for a chaste kiss upon your mouth.
It felt like a promise. It felt like a message conveyed from him to you, that he wasn’t about to let go, prompted even more when he wound his arms around your frame in a firm, yet gentle hug.
You pillowed your head against his chest, closed your eyes, and counted all your blessings.
You were definitely counting Sunwoo as one. And you’d make sure that you wouldn’t be as foolish as to let go of him ever again.

An Unexpected Surprise - A Marcus Moreno Story
Author’s Note: So with some encouraging from my friends, I decided to post my writing! I know that technically we don’t know anything about Marcus Moreno, but that superhero dad has been taking up space in my mind rent free all week. I tagged people that I know wanted to read this and a few that I thought might enjoy it. Please let me know what you think! -Kat

Marcus trudged into the house, it was at least 2 in the morning, and he was absolutely exhausted. He was always exhausted these days; his age was catching up to him. He may be a part of the Heroics, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t getting older. He was balancing heroism, kids, a spouse, and trying to give them some semblance of a normal life. He was ready to retire, be involved in every aspect of the kids’ lives, and see his wife in more than just the middle of the night and before leaving for work. He had given enough of his life to the service of the world; now, it was about time to provide all of himself to his family. Missy, his eldest, was already 11 and getting older every single day. Jules, the baby of the family, was about to turn 5, just about to leave the toddler years behind her. He felt as if he had missed so much of their lives; he didn’t want to miss anymore.
Most of the house lights had been turned off, signaling that most of the inhabitants were fast asleep. He hoped that at least he could get a kiss or two from the woman he loved. Maybe she would still be awake. He made his way up the stairs, checking the kids’ rooms. He planted soft kisses on their foreheads, smiling at their serene expressions. What beautiful little girls he had, he was the luckiest father in the world.
He frowned, opening the door to the master bedroom; the soft glow of artificial light bathed the room in a yellow haze. There she was, his love, sitting in the middle of the bed, clearly wide awake, wearing her glasses and frowning at the hologram in front of her. Someone was working even later than Marcus himself. He took in her form; she still hadn’t noticed him quite yet. She was wearing a silky nightie that hit her upper thigh and a matching robe loosely tied around her. His cock stirred in his pants. Even as spent as he was from the day, the view in front of him made him want to take her to bed and fuck her senseless.
“Dr. Moreno, hard at work, I see,” he teased.
Her eyes shot up, smirking at him. I’m not quite Dr. Moreno yet, Marcus. You’d have to marry me first,” she teased.
“We had a ceremony-” he started.
“And someone still hasn’t mailed the marriage certificate, even though it’s been two months. All you gotta do is bring it to the post office, baby. I’d do it myself, but somebody insisted that he’d be the one to do it.”
Marcus groaned, falling onto the bed beside his wife (that’s what she was to him, even if he didn’t mail the marriage certificate yet). He heard some shuffling and a command for her AI system to file the holograms working on for the night. He’d lived with her for four years now, and he still hadn’t gotten used to all her tech. If he was a hero in name, she was the genius behind every piece of technology in his arsenal, as well as all of the other members of the Heroics. Her superpower was her mind, that gorgeous, intricate, genius mind of hers. Her ability to retain information, learn, critically think, and create was almost impossible to fathom truly. At 33, she had twelve doctorates in various fields, including engineering, physics, nanotechnology, and art history. Her thirst for knowledge and eagerness to invent was unparalleled, even among other enhanced individuals. He would never stop singing her praises; she was a wonder.
“Marcus, baby, do you wanna shower and go to bed? It’s late.”
He sighed, starting to relax into the feeling of her fingers carding through his hair. “Baby, if you keep that up, I’m gonna fall asleep right here and now. I took a shower at HQ before I left, so I’m good.” He opened his eyes when her fingers stilled, looking up at the beautiful woman with the soft smile leaning over him.
“Do you think you can stay up for a little bit longer, honey? I have a surprise for you.”
He sat up, scooting up against the headboard, kicking off his shoes. He felt wide awake now. His wife wasn’t typically one for surprises on any old day. He wracked his mind, trying to make sure that he hadn’t missed her birthday, their dating anniversary, or any other consequential, momentous occasion.
“I didn’t forget a special day, did I? Fuck, amor. I’m so sorry if I did. I’ve been spread so damn thin since the wedding; I’ve been running around like a madman.”
She placed a tiny cream-colored box in his hands, his wife sitting right in front of him, eyes sparkling with excitement. “You didn’t miss anything, Marcus, just open the box. You’ll like it, I promise.”
He nodded, pulling at the perfect bow holding the box closed, carefully opening the lid. For a minute, he just stared at the contents of the box, his eyes wide with shock. Ever so slowly, he picked up a pair of teeny baby booties, placing them in his large palm. He took the second item out, a pregnancy test that digitally read, PREGNANT. His hands began to shake; tears began to overflow, tracking down his cheeks. He looked up, his gaze locked on the woman in front of him.
“Sweetheart, are we-? Are you-? We’re- we’re having a baby?” he managed to choke out.
There was one more item in the box, at the bottom, an ultrasound labeled Baby Moreno. He studied the picture intently, his thumb moving over the little blob on the paper. That was his baby, their baby. They were having a baby.
“Holy shit,” he murmured, “we’re having a baby!”
A giggle made him raise his eyes once again. “That’s what I said, too. I’m about ten weeks along now. You’re going to be a daddy of three, Marcus Moreno.”
He scooped up everything in his lap, dumping it on the nightstand. He quickly grabbed his wife, flipping her so that she was under him. He covered her face in kisses, whispering how beautiful she was, how she was so loved, so treasured, so cherished. How their baby was made of nothing but love, how they were precious cargo, and how he would protect both of them every single day of his life. He kissed down her jaw, down her neck, eliciting breathy moans from the woman underneath him. His kisses went lower and lower until he reached her belly, pulling her nightie up around her waist so that he could get to her bare stomach. He planted dozens of kisses all over her belly, in awe of the life growing in there.
“Hey baby, it’s your daddy,” he cooed softly. “Your mommy and I already love you, little one, and you’ll have two big sisters that I just know will love you too. I can’t wait for you to be here, little baby. I promise I’ll be here for you.”
He looked adoringly at the mother of his youngest child, grinning as if his world had been made complete, and in all honesty, it had been. This baby, this tiny little one growing inside of the woman that he loved most, filled a hole in his heart that he hadn’t even been aware of.
He bit down on his lower lip, smirking while ever so slowly pulling off her panties. He would lavish the woman he loved with every ounce of devotion, adoration, and love he had to offer. A breathless Oh please, Marcus was all he needed to motivate him to continue. He opened her legs up, giving him access to her slit, wet and wanting. He groaned, the sight making his mouth water. If he had it his way, Marcus could spend hours between her thighs. Two fingers lightly toyed with her slit, moving up and down, collecting her slick.
“Look at you, baby, so wet for me, and I’ve barely touched you. If this is what pregnancy does to you, amor, I might have to start keeping better work hours so I can spend my time between your thighs.”
He could see her hips try to follow his fingers, desperate for more than he was giving her. “Marcus, don’t tease, please,” she whined. He chuckled, easily giving in to her pleas. He couldn’t say no to her, not tonight.
He buried his head between her legs, tongue coming out to lick a broad strip all the way to the top of her slit, his nose nudging her clit. She tasted like heaven, making him moan into her core, sending pleasurable shivers up her spine. He speared his tongue into her, getting as deep as he could, fucking her pussy with his tongue while her fingers tangled themselves in his curls. He kept exploring her folds with his tongue, hitting all the spots he knew would make her see stars.
He easily pushed in two fingers, causing her to buck her hips up, matching his pace. He focused his tongue on her clit, alternating between drawing lazy circles and sucking her into his mouth. His fingers hit that sweet spot inside her with every thrust, bringing her closer and closer to her release. Before he knew it, she was cumming around his fingers, squeezing him tight and pulling him deeper. His mouth flooded with the taste that was uniquely hers, prompting him to moan. He could feel himself rock hard in his pants, leaking with his arousal.
He crawled off the bed, swiftly ridding himself of his clothes, placing his glasses safely on the nightstand. He grabbed her glasses as well, placing them next to his own. She had shrugged off her robe and nightie, languidly watching him, her eyes blown wide with desire.
“Marcus, I need you inside of me,” she begged. His large cock rested heavy against his stomach, tip red and leaking. The thought of him inside of her was almost too much. She needed him, and she needed him right now.
He settled over her, catching her lips in a deep, earth-shattering kiss. His tongue explored her mouth, letting her taste herself. Marcus was intoxicating, enthralling, and all she wanted was more. Finally, they broke apart, panting slightly.
“Dr. Moreno, my lovely wife, mother of my child, let me make love to you. Let me show you how happy you make me, sweetheart. I want to make you touch the sky,” he whispered into her ear.
She beamed at him, cradling his cheek gently. “Yes, baby, I’m all yours.” He leaned back in, catching her into another searing kiss. He worked his length up and down her slit, coating himself in her slick, bumping her clit a few times in the process. At last, he began to leisurely enter her, inch by inch. They both groaned when he bottomed out, fully seated inside of her.
“Fuck honey, you’re just so tight, so wet, so warm for me,” he whimpered, moving inside her with slow, deep strokes. He wanted to make this last, to draw out her pleasure. With every thrust, he told her how good she felt, how beautiful she looked underneath him, how her pussy was made for him, how perfect she was. He could’ve gone like that for quite some time, slowly bringing her closer and closer to her high. Only her pleas of more, faster, harder made him speed up.
He grabbed one of her legs, placing it higher on his hip, allowing him to hit deeper inside her. Her hips moved in unison with his own, meeting each thrust into her. He would never get tired of the pretty sounds she made for him when he was fucking her. Those breathy moans she let out, the babbling it all spurred him on. He could tell she was close. She always got so fucking wet and even tighter right before she came. He dropped a hand between them, rubbing hard, tight circles around her clit. Not even a half dozen thrusts later, and she was wailing in ecstasy, clamping down on him like a vice. He wasn’t far behind, spilling himself deep within her, muttering her name over and over like a prayer.
He rolled off of her, panting, taking a minute to catch his breath as he gazed at her blissed-out form. Hair a mess, chest heaving, lips swollen from his kisses to Marcus, she was stunning. He couldn’t think of a moment when she was more gorgeous than right then and there. He could look at her forever, just like this.
Eventually, he got up and grabbed a warm cloth, gently cleaning her off. Turning off the light, he climbed back into bed, pulling her body to his, cradling her close. He let his hand wander, rubbing soothing circles over her belly.
“You’re gonna look so stunning, honey, all round with our baby. I promise I’ll take such good care of you. I’ll do whatever you need.”
He could feel his wife sigh, completely relaxed in his arms. He held her close, basking in her warmth and the love between them. He let his mind wander, thinking of the future, thinking of this baby.
“I’m gonna cut back at work, move more into an advisory role in the Heroics. As your pregnancy progresses, I’ll be able to work from home and take a solid chunk of paternity leave when the baby comes. I’ve given enough of myself to the world. It’s time for me to give everything I can to my family, to you, to the girls, to this baby. I’ll go drop off the marriage certificate tomorrow before I go into HQ to talk about restructuring my job. That way, you’ll officially be Dr. Moreno, even though you’ve already been that to me for a long time.”
She answered him with a happy sigh and kisses to his hand that entwined with hers. “I’d like that, Marcus. It might be selfish, but I want you here, with us. We love you so much; it’s nice when you’re here. It makes our family complete.”
They spent a few more minutes talking about the future, drifting off into deep, dreamless sleep. The thought of tomorrow was full of bright promises, just waiting to be embraced.

AHH LISTEN! You write such beautiful headcannons, I feel like I'm literally there. 6x the joy of getting married and having gorgeous competent spouses to help with our gorgeous grumpy children! Thank you so much for this gift! Would you be down to write for the main 6 a lil oblivious, mutual pining and what causes them/the MC to finally snap? (And if you wanna get racy, what happens next? ;) )
Listen, listen, you came for my entire heart with this ask, the compliments definitely punched me in the face but the mutual pining was what KO’d me, my forking jam. (Also, we are always happy to get racy here in la mía casa)
Asra
★ He already really, really loves you, so it just kind of evolves naturally for him. There’s no internal conflict on his part, because of course he would fall for you, it’s only right.
★ However, he does want to be absolutely sure you’re ready before taking any next steps, he doesn’t want to set you back in your recovery.
★ Except for Asra, that translates into never initiating anything, ever.
★ He hugs you and touches your shoulder and all, but that’s just Asra with anybody he trusts. He does stare at you an awful lot though. If he catches you staring, this fluffy idiot will think nothing of it.
★ Physical contact is already so natural between the two of you. That one day you just.. kiss him? Oops.
☆(NSFW)☆
★ “wait was that-?” “…oh! Sorry I-“ “No it’s- can I kiss you again?” The answer is yes, he kisses you with purpose this time, soft and warm. Then immediately dissolves into giggles. He kisses you again, still giggling. “I love you” he says, voice stuck between a laugh and a sigh (and a kiss).
★ It was meant to be a brief kiss, but now he can’t seem to stop. (He’s lost count of how many times he’s kissed you now), but his hands -they’re shaking- skim tentatively up your arm, into your hair, hold you by the nape of your neck. And when you sigh he can’t help but brush a finger against your collarbone, then kiss that same spot.
★ He feels drunk (he probably knocks against the shop’s counter, almost drops a jar of some herb or another), but now he’s got you pressed against it and he’s not laughing anymore, his brow is furrowed with want. He pants your name and you’re both gone.
Nadia
♠ Doesn’t want to come on too strong but she is starting to suspect she fell for an entire dumbass.
♠︎ Maybe you just don’t want her? It’s entirely possible, but then what about all the times you seem to be flirting with her?
♠︎ She’s tried everything, lavishing you with gifts, turning on the charm, even showing you off at parties and to dinner guests.
♠ Problem is, she’s the countess, and why would she be interested in you? That’s ridiculous. All this must be because she has all this money, and you’re a special guest, and she’s just amazing like that.
♠︎ But one day you can’t take it anymore, and ask her outright what her intentions are. (Literally “are you flirting with me?” “I have been for a year now, thank you for noticing”)
♤(NSFW)♤
♠︎ Oh boy, she has to make up for lost time, now doesn’t she? She asks you (up front this time) if you’d like to come up to her room at the palace. “Don’t worry, nothing nefarious” her gaze says otherwise. Goodness, she’ll eat you alive.
♠︎ You get to her chambers and, unexpectedly, she asks you to try something on for her. A necklace, she says, that has been sent to her. She’s not sure about it yet, and would like to see it on you before deciding if she likes it. You’re a bit taken aback, but agree.
♠︎ She’s wicked, dragging the cold metal chain slowly across the skin of your shoulders, breathing against your neck as she fastens the clasp, she takes you (legs shaking) to stand in front of the mirror. She places a kiss against a soft spot on your neck and then presses her teeth against it, her hand travels up to your throat. “Darling, you look ravishing” but you barely hear her, your ears are ringing.
Julian
♦︎ Oh boy.
♦︎ This dude right here invented pining. He thinks you’re absolutely gorgeous the moment he sees you, but then you two get to talk and it’s over, my man is gone.
♦︎ Alternates between the smoothest man alive and a literal mess. Also, he wants to date you so bad, but he thinks he’ll be bad for you. Can’t decide between being selfish and a self-sacrificing idiot.
♦︎ You like him so much, but he keeps sending these mixed messages, you wonder if it’s better to just maybe just steal longing glances at him for the rest of your life.
♦︎ One day, when he’s feeling particularly angsty, you ask him what’s wrong and he tells you in many, many scrambled words that he likes you. You had thought you had mistaken his usual Julian-ness for flirting, but this new revelation changes everything.
♢(NSFW)♢
♦︎ “You like me” you breathe. He looks up miserably from his pint and nods. You already had a hand on his shoulder from where you were comforting him, but the surprise makes you tighten your hold, dig your nails in. And he- did he-? You snap your gaze to his and yep, he’s red to the very tips of his ears, lip caught between his teeth. “Oh?” You smirk. He lets out another tiny, miserable whine.
♦︎ You can’t remember ever feeling this giddy, your heart is pounding and your hands feel clumsy, it’s nearly impossible to get the buttons of his coat to come undone. And you’re hiding in an alley, goodness. Julian’s lips still taste of salty bitters, and he’s clutching at you like he wants to climb inside you.
♦︎ “You’re drunk” you say “on you” he retorts, though muffled, he didn’t even miss a beat. You bite his lip playfully in response and he, mmmelts (seriously, you have to catch him a little). “Okay” you say, hot all over, “okay” and you kiss him some more.
Muriel
♣︎ Hates it. Hates that he’s pining for you so hard. He tries the whole avoiding you thing and everything but it doesn’t work.
♣︎ It never even crosses his mind that you might want him back. Sometimes he catches you looking at him and his immediate reaction is to be absolutely mortified (has he had something on his face this whole time?!)
♣︎ Doesn’t know what to do with himself, basically. He wants to talk to you but he only goes so far as to following you around at a distance. He wants to touch you but doesn’t want to ask for contact. He brushes against you once in passing and immediately goes beet red.
♣︎ Thing is, you’re so good. So good, soft, like he doesn’t deserve. You treat him like he’s… Sometimes you bring by some of your cooking, or a shiny rock that you thought was pretty, or you take him out for some smoked eel (and keep him company while he eats it, sat in the shadows). You constantly check that he’s alright “is it okay if I put my hand on your shoulder?” “Are you alright?” “Can I touch you?” “Can I help you?” “Can I hug you?”…
♣︎ “Can I kiss you?” You whisper, he can only nod.
♧(NSFW)♧
♣ Muriel is so sensitive to touch, starved for it, though he’d never admit it. So when you start kissing him there’s an immediate churning heat in his belly. He’s lightheaded, feels like he’s about to boil over, he doesn’t know where to put his hands.
♣︎ Somehow you’ve ended up in his lap, though he can’t say exactly when that happened (time is strange, when he’s kissing you), his hands have traveled to your sides and something about having you there, holding you to him, he’s going to go mad.
♣︎ He doesn’t want to ask for more than you’re willing to give him. But you give so easily, each tentative press of his lips is met with wet, purposeful pressure from yours. When his hands first brush your skin you shiver and come closer. He kind of never wants to stop.
Portia
♥︎ Is a whole mess.
♥︎ Listen, she gets lost in your eyes sometimes, alright? That doesn’t mean she’s in love with you. Or maybe it does, but you don’t have to know that.
♥︎ Maybe you’re an oblivious fool (u are) because that’s the only way that you wouldn’t have noticed her pining. Literally goes ‘eep!’ every time you catch her staring.
♥︎ Portia is the kind of person that talks about their crush all the time, (‘the other day I was with MC and-‘ ‘and then MC said- insert mildly funny thing- and haha- wait- hahaha- they said- hahsghdgsh’) so literally everyone knows she’s crushing but you.
♥︎ She’s naturally flirty with everyone, but one day she says something that you read as actually flirty, so then you’re like wait, really? And Portia’s all ‘oh! Sdgdhhdj I was just, I didn’t mean- I was just, uhm- KIDDING! Just kidd- unless..’ (anyway spoilers you both like each other and then make out lol)
♡(NSFW)♡
♥︎ She spent so long having a crush on you and daydreaming about being with you and now she can actually have you. She has to hide away with you for a little while ASAP. You notice her acting giddy one day in the gardens and ask her what’s wrong “nothing!” She says immediately, then a pause “actually, do you want to stop by the cottage?” A perfectly innocent question, but she’s gone all red. Oh.
♥︎ You stop by her cottage. As soon as you’re in through the door she turns up the flirty-ness tenfold (you’re gonna pass out), until she finally takes your hand and walks you backward against a wall. “Wanna make out?” She whispers. You do, actually. She’s surprisingly bitey, and very responsive.
♥︎ After a few moments her hands start wandering, “you’re so cute” she sighs “beautiful, wow”. She’s letting out these breathy little sighs, pressing closer until there’s no space between you. She has one leg slotted between your own, her back arched to press the length of her against your body, one hand on your back at your waist, the other clutching at her shoulder, and she’s moving in a slow, waving motion, kissing your jaw and lips and ear and scraping teeth against your neck (you’re going to die).
Lucio
▲ Oh he hATES it. (Feelings?! No thanks, yuck). It’s probably the whole ‘feelings make you weak’ mentality he grew up around, because he’s not above indulging in company, if ya know what I mean.
▲ But he doesn’t just want that from you, and it throws him on a loop. He keeps bouncing back and forth between sending for you about the most ridiculous things just to see you, and sending you away in a huff when he realizes that no, bad Lucio.
▲ It can’t be helped though, and soon he’s head over heels. He gets ridiculous, honestly. ‘Subtly’ asking about you and giving you increasingly odd, expensive gifts and trying to get your attention.
▲ As soon as he gives in and admits to himself that he actually likes you his first thought is to go out and demand that you be with him. But he’s actually nervous, and not exactly sure that you would like that at all. So he starts testing the waters.
▲You think it’s just Lucio being Lucio but you’ve liked him for some time and it kinda? hurts? when he suddenly starts complimenting you and making jokes about being with you for real, saying it so casually like there’s no way in hell and it hurts. So one day you tell him to stop.
△(NSFW)△
▲ “Wha- huh?” He says, and you’re embarrassed, maybe you shouldn’t have said anything, but Lucio’s already seen your face, and now he knows what’s going on. “Oh, sweetheart” he says in a drawl “I’m being perfectly sincere, I love your pretty face” he takes a step closer “that amazing body” his voice is softer, you blush, he takes another step “your powerful magic” another still “your sharp mind” he’s right in front of you know, reaching out with a clawed finger to tilt your chin up “I’d like to be with you, if you’d let me.”
▲ “I’d like to do so many things to you, magician.” His golden hand trails from your chin to your bottom lip, tugging down before letting go and traveling up your cheek to the side of your head. He’s holding himself up against the wall with his other hand, bracketing you in against him, all in your space. “Perhaps I’ll call you to my room, feed you whine and fruit and sweets, drape you in fine silk” he leans in close to your ear “I’ll keep you to myself all day, kiss every inch of you, maybe keep you all night as well.”
▲ “Lucio” you gasp, he grins devilishly and surges in to kiss you. He kisses you long and hard right there in the hallway, pulling back a few inches just to hover near your lips, you lean into him and he pulls back a little more, teasing. “Please” you pout. “Oh no, beautiful, you’re much too pretty to be begging a man like me for kisses. I should be the one doing the begging, getting on my knees and showering you in gold.” He’s grinning, but he’s glowing red with enthusiasm at the thought. “Kiss me then” you say, pulling him to you, he shivers like he’s weak at the knees and does just that.

Summary: Virgil risks a journey home to the dark forest to reconnect with brother Janus— and invite him to a potential wedding.
~*~
“I need to tell him,” Virgil said, curled up by the fire.
“Hm?” Logan looked up from his book. “Tell who, what, exactly? I’m afraid I’m not quite following.”
Virgil grimaced. “My brother. About....” He gestured vaguely. “Us? Me not being dead?”
“Ah.” Logan closed his book. “Would you like me to come with you?”
“No.” Virgil quickly shook his head. “No. I need to go alone. Besides, it’s not safe for you there.”
Logan folded his hands on his lap. “You left for a reason. Are you quite certain you want to go back?”
“I was scared, Lo. But now... I know what to expect. I’m ready.”
“Very well. Contact me if you need assistance.” Logan stood and walked over to his desk, taking out a small handheld mirror. “Say my name into this mirror, and we will be able to communicate through it.”
Virgil looked at the mirror warily. “And if I break it?”
Logan sighed. “It will still work on a shard of the mirror, but please be careful.”
“Always am.” Virgil smiled wanly as he took the mirror, cautiously placing it in his satchel.
Logan kissed his forehead and squeezed his hand gently. “Come home soon, please.”
Virgil took his hand and stood. “That’s the goal. I’ll miss you.” He stretched and took a deep breath. “Well, see you later, I guess.”
“Farewell and good luck.”
Virgil forced a smile and waved, then quickly packed his things before heading out the door— not giving himself the chance to back out.
~*~
Virgil tugged his cloak close against the chill. This was a bad idea. He knew it was a bad idea. Five years. Five years apart.
Maybe Janus wouldn’t even want to see him. Hell, maybe he wasn’t even here.
No. Too late to turn back.
Eerie whispers echoed in the mists and shadows lurked behind skeletal trees, but Virgil ignored them. That was normal here. As was the eternal night. Perfectly normal.
Here lived the monsters of the realm. The forsaken. The lost and abandoned. The only advantage was that they never hurt one of their own.
Virgil stopped in front of the door built into the cliffside and knocked. Snakes, spiders, and tentacles were carved around the doorframe, but there were no windows— only narrow slats to let air and light inside. Easier to defend without having to worry about glass.
It felt like eternity before the door opened. “Well, this is unexpected,” Janus drawled, his scales gleaming in the dim light.
“Hey, Jan... umm... can I come in?” Virgil rubbed his arm, not quite meeting his brother’s gaze.
“Depends on what brought you here.”
“I just wanna talk.” Virgil bit his lip. “And... apologize?”
“Go on, then. Say what you came to say.” Janus leaned against the doorframe.
Virgil took a deep breath. “I think I understand now,” he said slowly.
Janus arched an eyebrow. “Oh do you now? What do you understand?”
“Why you did what you did. Why we lived how we did. Why we were always hiding, never leaving the forest. How the world really works— well, not as much that, but more than I knew—“
“Did someone hurt you?” Janus cut him off, taking a step closer, concern in his eyes.
Virgil winced. “No. Well, yes, but that’s not important right now. What’s important is you don’t need to do that anymore. We can help you.”
Janus’s brow knitted. “We?” he echoed.
“I... uh... met some nice people. Like, really nice. I think you’d like them, if you give them a chance.” Virgil picked at a loose thread at the edge of his cloak.
Janus gave him a look, then sighed and stepped aside. “Come in. Would you like some tea?”
Virgil sighed in relief and walked through the doorway. It was just as he had left it— fur blankets piled around cushions and chairs, rickety table, a large fireplace with snakes around the mantle. “Sure. Something herbal?”
“Chamomile?” Janus suggested, filling a pot with water and placing it over the hearth.
“Whatever, sure.” Virgil warmed himself by the fire, then grabbed a blanket and took a seat on a nearby cushion.
Janus laughed softly. “Still prefer the floor to a chair, hm?”
Virgil shrugged. “It’s convenient. And warmer,” he said.
“Mm. Indeed it is,” Janus said. “Honey in your tea, yes?”
“Yeah. Thanks.”
A moment later, Janus set a cup of tea on the floor next to Virgil and sat down a few feet away. “Careful. It’s hot,” he said. Which was obvious due to the steam.
Virgil wrapped his hands around the teacup anyway, breathing in the aroma. “So... umm... what’s up with you?” He winced. “I mean, like, what have you been up to? How have you been?”
Janus chuckled softly. “More of the same. Hunting. Strengthening the wards.” He gestured vaguely.
“Right, yeah,” Virgil muttered.
“I am far more interested about you, spiderling. Care to talk about your grand adventures?” Janus arched an eyebrow.
Virgil snorted. “I wouldn’t call them that. But uh... I guess.” He took a sip of his tea once it had cooled down enough. “Well... I headed roughly northeast from here. Traveled with the spider-people for a bit. But as we approached the border, some elves attacked. When they heard me speak, they stopped and demanded I bow before the prince.“ He smiled sideways. “Did you know we even had a prince out here?”
Janus hummed thoughtfully. “A prince in this forest? No, preposterous.”
“Anyway, Princey insisted on ‘rescuing’ me and ‘breaking the curse’.” Virgil gestured to his face, where dark spiderwebs still patterned his skin. “So he whisked me away to ‘civilization’.”
“Oh the horror,” Janus said, his lips quirking into a half-smile.
Virgil blushed slightly. “It was... overwhelming. So many people in one place. All so loud! And the buildings— they make walls out of wood, can you imagine? And the top out of grass! They wouldn’t last a second out here.”
Janus hummed in agreement, but remained silent, sipping at his tea.
“And... well... I don’t think the people liked me very much,” Virgil admitted, looking into the fire. “When they saw my face, they shied away. Some threw fruit and stuff, but the prince quickly put a stop to that.”
Janus narrowed his eyes. “They hurt you?” He asked in a low voice.
Virgil bit his lip. “It’s fine. It didn’t really hurt, just made a mess. And like I said, some people were nice.”
“Hmph. People do not think kindly of our people. Hence why it is safer to remain within the forest.”
“I know, I know.” Virgil ran a hand through his hair and exhaled sharply. “Anyway.... a little while later I met the prince’s advisor, a half-elf mage. He’s so handsome and smart and gentle and kind and—“ He stopped, blushing slightly. “His name is Logan and he offered to let me stay with him. He helped me learn how to control my powers.”
Janus arched an eyebrow. “You like this advisor, don’t you?”
Virgil nodded slowly. “I... yeah. We understand each other,” he said quietly.
Janus was silent for a moment, then reached over and put his hand on Virgil’s arm. “If he makes you happy, then stay with him.”
“Do you want to meet him?”
Janus blinked. “Come again?“
Virgil took out the mirror. “This is an enchanted mirror. We can communicate through it. If you want to.”
Janus touched the scaled side of his face. “Are you sure he wants to see me?”
Virgil smiled sadly. “You’re my brother. Of course he wants to meet you. And he didn’t hate my markings, so you should be fine.”
“Mm.” Janus sighed, then flicked his wrist, making his cowl float over and wrap around his face, hiding as much of his scales as he could. “Very well.”
Virgil took a deep breath and held the mirror so they were both in view. “Logan? Can we talk please?”
A moment later, the surface of the mirror fogged up, then cleared to show Logan’s face. “Virgil? Is everything alright? Can you see and hear me?”
Virgil nodded, holding Janus hand. “Yeah, we’re good. This is my brother.”
Janus cleared his throat. “Yes, Virgil is my brother,” he said. A moment later, he added, “You may call me Dee.”
“Oh. Hello, then. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Logan,” he said, blinking a few times.
Virgil shot Janus a look. “Logan is a friend. We can trust Logan,” he said, keeping his voice low.
“You may trust him. That does not mean I do,” Janus countered, then flashed a smile at the enchanted mirror. “Virgil has told me so much about you.”
“I hope he has said that which he so urgently wanted to tell you,” Logan replied.
Virgil groaned. “Don’t say it like that,” he grumbled.
Janus arched an eyebrow. “Oh? Have you said ‘that which you so urgently wanted to tell me’?”
Virgil rubbed his face. “Lo and I... we... uh.... we were thinking about... maybe... getting married?” Gods, words were hard.
“Virgil is correct. We have discussed the possibility,” Logan said.
Janus’s reptilian eye twitched. “You leave for five years, and return with a potential spouse,” he said slowly.
Virgil bit his lip and nodded. “Potential. We haven’t decided for sure, cuz weddings are expensive pageantry and shit, but...” He took a deep breath. “If we do get married, I want you to be there. I want you to lead me down the aisle.”
Janus leaned back in his chair, glancing between them both. “This is quite a lot to take in,” he said, steepling his hands like the dramatic shit he was.
“Oh for fucks sake! I’m asking for your blessing!” Virgil blurted, then groaned and flipped up the hood of his cloak.
“If it will make you happy, then by all means...” Janus said. “However, I will need to know more about this potential spouse of yours.”
“I am an open book. Ask your questions,” Logan said.
Virgil blinked. “You... you’re not mad?”
“Mm. I wouldn’t call it mad, no.” Janus sipped at his tea. “Now, Logan, tell me about yourself.”
“I am the royal advisor to Prince Roman and Prince Remus. I am skilled in the mystical arts,” Logan said.
Janus rolled his eyes. “Yes, yes, I know that. Tell me more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, hobbies, whatever. Why should I let you marry my little brother, hm?”
Logan blinked. “Well... I enjoy learning whatever I can. I have known Virgil for just over four years now. I would never hurt him, and truly wish him the best.”
Virgil tugged his cloak closer. “I’m right here,” he muttered. “And you don’t need to interrogate him.”
Janus inclined his head. “I believe I have enough information for the time being, although of course I would love to meet you in person. Virgil, you wanted me to leave the forest, did you not?”
Virgil blushed slightly. “Uh, yeah. I can take you to them. If you’re serious about coming with me. And as long as the forest will survive without you.”
Janus waved an arm dismissively. “Of course, of course.”
“I look forward to seeing you both. Farewell and safe travels,” Logan said. The surface of the mirror shimmered and his image faded.
Virgil exhaled slowly. That wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
“Virgil?” Janus asked softly. “This will make you happy, yes?”
Virgil rubbed his face and nodded quickly. “Yeah, thanks. Really. I’m uh... bad with words, but yeah.”
“Would you like a hug? Or is this a no-touch-time?” Janus asked, spreading his arms.
Virgil half-fell into the embrace, holding on tightly. “I missed you,” he whispered. “I’m sorry.”
“Mm. I know. I missed you, too, spiderling,” Janus murmured, rubbing gentle circles into his back. “I am glad you are safe.”
Virgil took a few deep breaths, letting himself relax. Safe. He was safe. He was home.
“And I will always be here for you. No matter how long we are apart. No matter what happens,” Janus said softly. “You didn’t really think I’d be mad at you for leaving, did you? I was simply worried.”
Virgil grimaced. “Worse case scenario shit. I’m good at that, remember?”
“Mm. But this is not a worse case scenario. Things are going well for the time being. Enjoy it.”
“While it lasts,” Virgil said with a half-smile.
Janus chuckled. “Indeed. Cherish every moment.”

Note
Is it reasonable for an 18 year old to not want to settle down right now? I'm about to go to university for the next 4 years and the person I've been with for 4 years is going on a path that will take him away from me for the next year with zero contact. He wants to settle down and get married and have babies right away but apparently I'm scared of commitment and he says being with him will fix that. No one around me understands and they all say marriage is the best if we want to stay together. At this point I'm looking everywhere for any reason he can give me so I can leave. I fell out of love a long time ago but stayed because I don't deserve any better. (His words). I want to experience life on my own and start my life the way I want to! I don't want to be attached to another person right now. I especially don't want to be a newlywed who doesn't see their spouse for the next year. I understand why committing right away is the right path for some people but I'm scared and unhappy. Am I overreacting? They all say I'm just overwhelmed right now but that once it all calms down I'll feel better. I need help. I don't want to hurt him or disappoint anyone.
You don't have to give advice or anything. I just needed to get it all out. I figured since we're strangers on the internet it'll hurt less if you disagree. I just needed an ear to listen. Someone that wasn't so close to the situation.
So Anon. First off, thanks for reaching out, this is a lot and I apperciate you trying to get help with all this. And I know you said I don't have to give advice but I'm GUNNA!
You are not overreacting. Like at all. In fact I think you are UNDER-reacting here! So your partner should deff be listening to you when you say you are not ready for this kind of thing, BOTH parties should be actively wanting marriage and kids, not trying to force the other one into it. I am very much in the camp of unless you 100% activly, WANT to get married and have kids you shouldn't.
And I don't blame you for not wanting those things because you are 18! Fucks sake I don't think any 18 year olds should be getting married, you are so young, have so much life ahead and so much of YOURSELF to figure out before committing to another person. You are going to change so much in the next few years, so much growth occurs in your early 20s.
You not wanting to get married and pump out rugrats at 18 does not mean that you have commitment issues, you are normal, most people at that age do not want those things and will not want them for a long time. You are right and valid in your feelings on this. If you don't want to do the marriage and kids thing until you are 30 or hell if you NEVER want to do them, that is FINE, it is your choice to make and YOUR life.
So I do not like this guy, trying to force you into some of the biggest life changing commitments you can make, telling you that you "can't do better than him"-
Fuck. Him Anon.
Hurt him. He seems perfectly content to hurt you and try to hold you back, you say you don't love him anymore, so don't be with him anymore. And also, who cares about dissappointing those around you when it comes to this?
You have to be you and live with being YOU for your whole entire life. You should be looking out for yourself first, ensuring your own happiness, doing what you want to do. There will be other guys, gals and non-binary pals, this guy isn't shit and you will deff be able to find someone else, someone better who listens to and respects your boundaries and doesn't try to rush you.
Leave him, go do your schooling, meet people, have new experiences, live your damn life by your time table and no one elses. I support you doing what you think is best for YOU! And what he wants sure as shit doesn't sound like it.
I wanna finish off leaving you with a quote from one of my favorite movies of all time Little Miss Sunshine.
"You do what you love, and fuck the rest."
And that is my advice to you Anon. Find what you love, find the best way to do it and fuck everything else.
Thank you so much for reaching out and I hope this helped you. All my best!

@ofcoming4th requested from the AU fic list:
43: falling in love with their best friend’s partner au
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's many characters I can see cheating, but Din and Luke aren't two of them. So have soft pining and breakups instead.
They could all hear Bo screaming at the top of her lungs at Din in the parking lot next to the bar, even over the obnoxiously loud bar music.  Thankfully it was loud enough so he didn’t hear the exact words, but the rage and shrill peaks of their argument still made their way over to Luke. He slumped further into his seat, cradling his right stump close to his chest, and did his best to pretend he heard nothing.
Wedge made no such effort. His boyfriend was leaning towards the slightly open window with Boba.  “It’s the kid argument again,” Wedge said with a shake of his head.  “Damn, Din, you gotta let that go.”
“He needs to dump the bitch,” Boba growled. “I’m sick of him putting up with this shit.”
“Agreed,” Cara said from her seat across from Luke.  “It’s fine if Bo-Katan wants that child-free life, but don’t keep Mando from it if that’s what he wants.”
Fennec took another sip of beer. “How did this even come up? I thought we all agreed not to talk about crotch droppings and other domestic shit.” She had arrived late, just in time to see Bo-Katan drag Din out by his leather jacket.
“Crotch droppings,” Cara snorted. “Ha--good one.”
Boba pointed a finger at Luke. “Fucking Skywalker’s fault.”
Luke sighed. “All I said was that I was watching Ben this weekend.” He slumped further into his seat when he saw Wedge twitch at the mention of his nephew.
Ok, maybe it was his fault. Children were a sensitive topic for both Bo-Katan and Wedge and he’d already had a massive row with his boyfriend earlier about his agreement to watch Ben for the weekend. Luke knew better. But when Din had asked what his plans were he’d just let the words slip out of him. Truth was, he liked having Ben around. He couldn’t help it if Wedge was uninterested in playing Uncle to an (admittedly difficult) child.
More than that, it wasn’t fair to Luke. Leia and Han deserved a break from being parents once and a while and there was no one else his sister could turn to besides him and Chewie. Chewie was in Oaxaca for the month visiting his family, so that left Luke. He’d already arranged it so he would watch Ben at Han and Leia’s house, leaving Wedge alone in their apartment for the weekend. What more did his boyfriend want from him?
There was more shouting outside--this time it was Din’s voice.  It must have been a bad one if Din was raising his voice enough for them to hear it.
“This is why I keep my gay ass out of the whole family conversation,” Cara sighed. “Kids are more trouble than they’re worth.”
“Kids are fine. Dealing with parents is the real nightmare,” Boba said, surprising them all with the seriousness in his voice.
“Kids are expensive, loud, needy, and too much work,” Wedge countered. He wasn’t looking at Luke but he felt tense all the same.  “I can reason with adults more than I can with kids.”
“HA! You’re telling me you’d rather put up with Solo than his kid?” laughed Boba. “I’ll take Solo Jr any day.”
“I happen to like Han,” Wedge grumbled.
‘He really doesn’t’, Luke thought sadly.  Han and Wedge were barely cordial these days. Maybe once, back when Luke and Wedge were still flying together in the same squadron, but now that Luke was out of the Air Force and living as a civilian things were strained between his family and Wedge.
Basically, everything about Luke’s life was wrong since his accident. Losing his hand turned out to be the easiest thing to adapt to because he’d had lots of physical support from his medical team, his liaison with the VA, and his family. Sure, his prosthetic wasn’t great, but he’d adapt, and now that he was out of the Force he could smoke his pain away. Nobody expected him to get a job right now and the inheritance from his mother was more than enough to scrape by.
What he hadn’t adapted to was the new strain in his relationship with his boyfriend. Wedge was still enlisted and could be redeployed at a moment’s notice.  Their apartment on base meant that Luke was constantly surrounded by the life he’d been abruptly ripped from and it hurt to see men and women walk by in blues or to hear the screech of fighter jets constantly overhead.  He felt like a damn military spouse, buying food at the commissary every Friday and getting sucked into random conversations about the rising price of beef.  He knew that Wedge desperately wanted Luke to reconsider the Force’s offer to transfer him to the USAF Test Pilot School down at Edwards, but he had no interest in retraining for aerospace.  He wasn’t smart enough for NASA or SpaceX either.
He wasn’t a hotshot anymore. Why was he still living like a parody of one?
Luke came back to himself when he felt Wedge squirm beside them. “I think they’re done,” he said quietly.  Luke listened and sure enough, he heard nothing but country music belting from the bar’s stereos.
“Do you think he’s coming back?” asked Cara.
“The bitch better not,” Boba hissed.
“Maybe someone should go check to see if they’re gone?” Fennec suggested.  “Otherwise we’re paying for their tab.” The table groaned.
“I’ll go,” Luke said as he stumbled to his feet.  It was his fault Din was in this situation, to begin with. He looked to see if Wedge was going to argue but the other man was already focused on trying to badger someone to play darts with him.
That used to be their thing before Luke lost his throwing hand.
Fuck, his life was pathetic.
He marched out of the bar, dragging his jacket behind him. The cold autumn air hit him like a slap to the face as he stepped outside.  The sun was gone and the only lights around were the bar and one sad streetlight several feet away from him. Luke squinted as his eyes adjusted to the darkness and he looked around for a familiar black leather jacket or blue dress. “Din? Bo?”
A flicker of light appeared at the edge of his vision and Luke turned to see Din lighting up a cig while leaning against the wall of the bar.  “She’s gone.”  There was no emotion, no heat, behind his words.  The only thing illuminating Din was his lighter and it cast shadows that distorted his face, hiding his facial features like a mask. It was hard to see if he was truly upset by Bo-Katan’s absence or not.
“I’m so sorry. I knew better than to bring Ben up--”
“You did nothing wrong.” Din took a deep drag.  “Don’t apologize.”  Din leaned his head back and Luke could hear the soft thump as he hit the brick wall.  “You wanna…” Din held up his cigarette carton and let his words trail off.
“Sure.”  Luke struggled to pull on his jacket one-handed but Din waited patiently until he was covered. He let Luke pull out a cigarette before he put the carton back into his pocket and pulled out his silver zippo so he could light it for him.
Luke promised Leia he’d try to cut back, but every time he went out to a bar the cravings hit him like a tidal wave.   There was something about being in a dark loud bar with friends that made him crazy for the first rush of nicotine in his system. As he took a long drag he almost moaned at the sensation of smoke curling up deep inside of him. It seeped out of his nose and dragged with it the minor aches and pains that he constantly lived with. That was probably why Din kept it up too.  You could watch a tiny bit of your life pull away from you and curl up into the evening air.
They were silent for a good long while, just taking turns blowing smoke and listening to the raunchy laughter of the servicemen and women inside.  If not for the ever-present awareness Luke had of his missing hand he could almost pretend this was a year ago, before his crash, when Din and Bo-Katan were having a good patch and contemplating marriage.  When Wedge still looked at Luke like he wanted him and when he could just fly away from all his problems. Just him and the endless sky.
“She’s really gone,” Din said finally, breaking the silence and Luke’s self-pity.  He flicked away the butt of his cig and turned to look at Luke.  “It’s over.”
Fuck.  Luke took one last greedy hit before he stomped the rest out with his shoe. “I’m so, so, sorry.”
“I’m not.”  Luke could see Din’s eyes tracking him in the darkness, carefully watching his reaction.  “We should have ended it a long time ago. I knew she was never going to change her mind about getting married and starting a family. That’s just not Kryze.”
Luke couldn’t imagine Bo-Katan as a mother either. He’d never wanted to frankly, and had never seen what Din saw in her. It wasn’t just because he was gay either. “She didn’t deserve you anyway.” On this, the entire friend group was in agreement. Din had lousy taste in women and men.
“Cliché, Skywalker,” Din teased him.  “Are you gonna offer me some wine and chocolate next?”
“Nothing wrong with drinking wine,” Luke shot back.  He had a bottle back ...home.
Home with Wedge.  Luke’s face fell as soon as the thought crossed his mind.
“Hey.” Din nudged Luke with his shoulder. “You ok?”
“That’s supposed to be my line.”
Din shook his head. “You look like shit.”
“Thanks.”
“Is therapy going ok?” Din looked concerned now and Luke was overcome with a wave of affection. Here was Din, freshly dumped by his long-time girlfriend, and yet he was worried about him.
“It’s going.” Luke waved his stump for emphasis. “Still waiting for my cosmetic hand.  You know how the VA is.” Incompetent and full of red tape.
“It’s been six months,” Din said with a frown.
Luke shrugged.
“Can’t Wedge pull some strings for you?”
“He’s a Captain, not a miracle worker.” Plus that would require Luke and Wedge to actually talk about his missing hand instead of dancing around it.
“You’re not talking to him again, are you?” Din’s fingers twitched and he knew that the other man was longing for another cigarette.  But they were both trying--and failing--to quit so he probably would stand in pain until the craving completely overwhelmed him...five minutes from now.
Luke sighed. He knew Din would see right through his answer. They’d known each other for years now since Luke first hooked up with Wedge after Iraq. Din had been one of the few friends that bothered to visit Luke in the hospital right after his crash.  He’d come as often as his duties would allow, bringing him magazines, snacks, and plenty of base gossip. He’s been Luke’s lifesaver and after he was finally discharged he found himself dragged into Din’s orbit more frequently, standing next to him as they held up the walls of every bar in town with a cloud of smoke. Din knew the basic details of his deteriorating relationship with Wedge; more than anyone else except maybe his sister.
“There’s nothing left to say,” Luke finally admitted.  Nothing that they hadn’t already dissected, fought, and screamed over.
“Luke.” He felt Din’s hand on his shoulder and he looked up into sympathetic brown eyes. “You two either need to get some help or finally end it.” He lessened the harshness of his words by offering another cigarette to him with his other hand.
Leia was going to kill him.
Luke let Din put the cig in his mouth and light it for him.  The intoxication of the smoke and the closeness of his friend made him dizzy and lightheaded. Din reeked of smoke, leather, and stale beer, and yet it was comforting all the same.
“We never talked about any of this,” Luke admitted. “I never thought I’d leave.” Except maybe via a body bag. He knew Wedge felt the same way, as did nearly everyone in Luke’s squadron. That’s why their visits had been short and performative after his accident.  His squadmates pitied and feared him...and he didn’t blame any of them for that.
“Well, I’m done.” Din lit up and turned to blow the smoke away from Luke’s face. “I’m done with all of this shit. I’m discharging and going back to college.”
“Y-you...really?” Luke stuttered. He knew Din’s IRR was almost up but he just assumed he’d re-elist like all of their friends.  “You’re gonna leave Boba and Cara?”
You’re gonna leave me?
“Fett, Dune, and Bo are lifers. I never saw myself extending even this long.  That last fight, it wasn’t just that I wanted a family and Bo-Katan didn’t. She’s committed and this is just a job for me.” The look on Din’s face was peaceful. He met Luke’s confused eyes with calm focus.
“Oh.” Luke didn’t know what else to say. Good on you? Good luck?
Din sighed. “Wedge is one of them.” Din jerked his head towards the wall of the bar. “He’s never gonna leave until they give him the boot. You know that right?”
Luke nodded wordlessly. Until he lost his hand he’d thought he was one of them too.
“Look, I’m not gonna tell you how to live your life. Just do me a favor.  You listening?” Din paused until Luke squirmed uncomfortably and nodded. “Try to put yourself first for once in your life. You deserve more than this too.”
Then Din stepped away. He threw the end of his cig on the floor and stomped it out.  “I’m gonna head out. You can tell the others everything, I’m sure they’ll all be thrilled.”
Luke shook his head to try to find his voice again. “Hell no, I’m not telling them you’re leaving!” Fuck that was going to be a disaster conversation.
Din laughed. “Ok fair enough. Just tell them about Bo. Cara will owe Boba $50 so she might as well get paid now before the idiot spends it all on booze.” Then without waiting for Luke to reply, Din started to walk towards his bike with his hands in his pockets.
Luke watched as Din walked away, with his head held up high. He looked lighter already. Letting go of Bo-Katan must have settled the anguish that had permeated his entire being for months now. It was strange, Luke had grown used to seeing Din with slumped shoulders and downturned lips. Whenever he had visited him at the VA, he’d always looked so beaten.  But now, he was walking away like a new man.
More than that, he looked like the old Din again. The one Luke had once found very attractive before he’d gotten too involved with Wedge to notice other people around him.  It was like watching someone reappear in his scope of vision while he was in the cockpit of his fighter, or like watching a bird reappear from the clouds.
“Din!” Luke shouted.  He watched as the other man turned back. He meant to say something appreciative, a thank you for the smokes and the advice. Instead what slipped out of his lips was, “I’m taking Ben to the zoo this weekend! Do you want to come?”
He didn’t know what exactly possessed him to say that, but it was worth it to see Din’s face break out into a real honest-to-god smile. “Yeah, sure. Text me!”
He watched Din until the man disappeared with a loud roar of his Harley, until his cigarette was ashes in his fingers and he felt his own smile finally fade away.

Monster Boyfriend!Reader insert!
Female Reader! Shadow boyfriend.
[The reader is nicknames are Angel by the boyfriend and Bo by everyone else]
Another day, another chewing out by your asshole of a boss who as usual promoted the skinny collage girl over you; despite the fact you worked at this office for over five years and kept it running! In your opinion your boss was a misogynistic piece of garbage who believed all woman had the minds of toddlers, that and their only purpose was to be servants/playthings/baby factories to all men. The only reason he promoted this new girl was because he was looking for new eye candy.
It was just your boss who shared this view however, the other members of the office didn’t share their views. All of them were married and had kids, you could feel the unease when the boss made filthy jokes about someone’s daughter…especially when that daughter was only thirteen years old.
The father of this girl was your friend and neighbor Roy, he was tempted to punch his boss senseless but at the moment he couldn’t afford to. He just found out he and his wife were expecting baby number two, his wife worked from home but he always believed in having a safety net.
[Lunch break]
You sat down by Roy and Trevor, he was from accounting and pretended to be a bachelor when he actually dating a very nice young person, they preferred not to be labeled with a gender.
“Hey Bo, heard the boss yelling at ya; what was it about this time?” Asked Trevor opening his lunchbox.
“The account he assigned to the new girl was lost and he’s blaming me despite I had no part in its loss. He just wants to get on the girls good side so he can try an sleep with her…” you mumbled as you pulled out your own lunch.
You weren’t skinny, you were round with curves and a belly. This lead to many comments from your boss but you brushed them off, especially when you got home cooked lunches from your boyfriend. Today’s lunch was as beautiful as before, he got into making those character bento lunchboxes he saw on tiktok. Today’s lunch was fried chicken meatballs with rolled up omelet and little rice balls. The meatballs were decorated to look like hedgehogs, the little rice balls made to look like penguins and the omelets were speckled with green and filled with cheese.
“Lee went all out on that didn’t he?” Retorted Roy with a chuckle, his lunch was a grilled panini he ordered from the shop next door.
“He loves to cook and I love eating his cooking.” You smiled as you chowed down into his creation.
There was a small avocado salad on the side with diced raw onions and a small squirt of hotshots on it. It was a interesting combination but it actually worked out well.
You were about to dig into this salad when your boss walked in, so begins his usual walk around the tables giving comments on everyone’s choice of lunches. Mocking men who didn’t have properly made lunches by their wives or joked about being bachelors. You finished the penguin rice balls when he came your table.
“An what has this group prepared hm?” He leaned over Roy and his sandwich. “Wife not making you lunch anymore, what you two get into a fight again?”
Ugh; you hated how he smirked every time he put someone down, he looked over at Trevor. His lunch was simple homemade steak and cheese wrap his partner made.
“Huh, thats surprising; most single guys don’t know how to cook, where’d you buy that?” Trevor was about to answer but the ass turned to you and eyed your lunch. “Well what does the pig have today? Something that looks decent, bet it tastes like shit though?”
He reached for your food, Roy was the one who pulled it away from him. “Sir, need I remind you that the last time you took someone’s food the CEO of the company came down here to scold you?”
Your boss glared at him but backed off, yes he literally took someone’s food from them and was reported. He managed to play it off as a misunderstanding but it didn’t stop the CEO from chewing him out.
“Fine, let the pig eat her slop.” With that your boss left.
“Thanks Roy…” you sighed, this was going to be a long day…
[A few hours later]
Finally it was time to leave, three’o clock, you got all your things and bolted for the elevator. You made it in time too, you knew your boss came looking for stragglers to do extra work. The doors closed just as he walked into look for anyone; preferably you. But you escaped, you learned when and how to avoid him near the end of the day.
Now piled into your car you, Trevor and Roy all heading back to the same apartment building you shared. Trevor lived on the fourth floor of the apartments while you and Roy were on the second floor, he lived in the apartment across the hallway from you and your boyfriend. You said goodbye to them and walked into your apartment, the money you made was good despite your boss.
You composed yourself before hand and as you were closing the door…you saw your shadow growing, it grew larger, bulkier and once it reached a hight of 9ft…three bio-green eyes appeared; feral and happy.
“Welcome home Angel.”
His large clawed hands picked you up and cradled you in those burly arms, the term ‘broad chest’ didn’t do your darling justice. He had hair but it was so molded to his body it almost looked like a helmet minus the part that hung off. He had what you called an inverted pixie bob, he nuzzled you and peppered your cheek with little kisses. He didn’t have a visible mouth, nose or ears but that only added to his charm.
“Hi Caine, I’m so happy to be home. Lunch was soooo good, I loved those little penguins you made.”
You watched those eyes of his turn into stars as he hugged tightly, you hugged him back….oh you needed this. You needed ‘him’ right now more then anything, just him and his big arms hugging you.
“I’m making pizza tonight, I figured it’d be cheaper then buying it.” He whistled.
“Ooh that sounds good.” You whined happily.
You only had your eyes closed for a moment before you found yourself in your bedroom. He sat you on the bed and proceeded to remove your shoes, what on earth did you do to get a guy this awesome?
“Oh, so you know; Brandy called me and told me about your company throwing a family picnic!”
Right…the picnic, another excuse for that ass of a boss to mock everyone’s lifestyle and show up his wealth. You smiled at him, he loved picnics and meeting all the people you worked with. No way were you gonna say no, but that didn’t mean you weren’t gonna try and stay as far away from your boss as possible.
“Its gonna be a potluck kind of picnic so lets make something yummy together hm?” You smiled as you stood back up and changed into your comfy clothes.
He squealed with glee and whisked you back up into his arms, dinner was delicious and so was dessert. Just simple store bot gelato but still good, the two of you sitting on the couch bing watching documentaries and internet cat videos.
[two weeks later]
The weather was perfect, there was a nice light breeze and there were clouds, lots of them. White, fluffy clouds that casted shadows to shield you from the sun from time to time. Not that it was terribly hot, warm but not hot. You and Cain parked the car under a tree and got out, the company picnic was being held at the local park near the river. It was a very nice place, already you saw many of your co-workers here.
Cain had already delved into your shadow, not out of fear but it was easier to move around crowds. You already saw a few other co-workers who brought their spouses. Mark from HR was one of the few you knew who was dating someone who wasn’t human, his girlfriend was the same height as Cain but unlike Cain she was more mammalian. She was what many called a ‘wendigo’ but she had more of a wolf appearance mostly due to her skull face; her name you recalled is Sophie.
You and Mark had that in common, the two of you love large, adorable creatures that could crush you in their embraces. You watched Mark talk as Sophie filled a plate with ribs and handed them to some other co-workers. You walked over, greeted her and sat down two large bowls. One had your famous fruit salad while the other had Cain’s spicy garlic Parmesan chicken wings.
Cain was about to come out to say hello when everyone was silenced by the tapping on a microphone.
“Everyone, thank you all for coming! I’m so thrilled to see everyone’s bright faces here!”
You gritted your teeth…it was your boss, here it comes. He did this whenever possible, bringing people up and passively insulting them for whatever reason an pass it off as a joke. Well today he was bringing couples up and joking, he already had Roy up there and joked about his family. It was clear Roy wanted to punch the guy’s lights out an you didn’t blame him.
“Thanks Roy for being a great sport, up next…why our own Ms. Bo!”
Well crud..it was your turn, you felt Cain gripping your shoulder but you had no choice. You patted the invisible hand and walked up onto the stage, you saw how he leered at you.
“Well everyone, here she is Miss Bo. Where’s your boyfriend, oh I’m sorry dear I guess the rumors are true men don’t like chubby little bitches like you.”
Uh oh…now he didn’t, you watched your shadow shift and move, steadily growing behind your boss as he continued.
“Any single men out here wanna plow this porker? No? Well thats to be expected, lots of smart men know to stay away-“ the mic was yanked out of his hand, he spun around…only to be face to face with three murder colored eyes.
You reached an took the mic. “Sir, I’d like to introduce you to Cain, my beloved boyfriend of four very happy years. We met in middle school, started dating in collage. Thats all you need to know….Cain put him down please.”
You didn’t need to look, Cain had your boss by the scruff of his shirt, dangling him over the edge of the stage….he relented and sat him down; he turned and took the mic from you.
“An for the record; you call my girl anything other then her name…well..” he exposed his rarely seen mouth, inside were rows of razors ready to tear him apart.
“The last thing you’ll be seeing are these.”
You refrained from saying anything..especially about your bosses soiled trousers.
[later, after the picnic]
Back in your apartment, cuddled on the couch; sitting in his lap with a box of macarons and other sweet treats. You look up at Cain who still seemed a little mad from what he heard.
“Honey its ok, the boss got fired for what he said and we’re getting a new one, its all thanks to you.” You give him a kiss, that seemed to melt the grump off.
“Yeah, though I’m still upset that you went through all those nasty things…”
Oh no the puppy eyes…the sad ‘mama I need love’ puppy eyes. He always got his way when something happened. Last time he did this was when you had you wisdom teeth taken out and you were in pain.
“I know but you know what?”
Cain looks down at you.
“What?”
“You made it worth it, every day I’d come home to the best thing nature ever created.”
You saw stars dance in his sweet eyes as he hugged you tightly, for the rest of the night was filled again with cat videos and documentaries until the two of you slowly drifted off to sleep, you safely tucked into his loving embrace.
End.
[so you know all of this was inspired by the drawings of @semisolidmind and her monster boyfriend series oooh their sooo cute! Semi I hope you like this you inspired this!]

Blupjeans and 8? :0
:0!! this kinda got a little away from me, but i don’t completely hate it! it’s shipswap au blupjeans though, aka lup is a reclaimer and barry is the spouse in the astral plane
<><><>
The Astral Plane is hauntingly gorgeous. The specific island Lup is standing on is big and round, surrounded on all sides by rainbow water and glowing lights. But she doesn’t care about any of it.
Because Barry is here. On the beach, playing piano as naturally as he draws breath. Or… drew breath. He’s dead, but now Lup is too. It’s been years— centuries— but now she’s on the same plane as him.
Her grip on Taako’s hand tightens and he squeezes back before letting go. He’s uncharacteristically solemn as he says, “Take your time.”
Lup nods, unable to take her eyes off of Barry, and she hears Taako portal out.
She starts walking before she really knows what she’s doing. Across the grey sand before she’s standing behind him, his back to her. He’s still wearing that shirt she always loved because it’s so soft. She’s still wearing his wedding ring on a chain around her neck.
“Hi,” she says. It definitely isn’t the most eloquent or appropriate thing to say, but she can’t think of anything else.
The melodies of the piano stop immediately. Barry is shocked into stillness for a moment before he turns and makes eye contact with her. Gods, she missed those eyes.
He nearly kicks over the bench he’s sitting on as he shoots into a hug. Lup holds him as tight as she can and revels in the feeling of his arms around her again. She buries her head in his shoulder and breathes him in.
“Oh gods, you’re here,” Barry’s saying, “W-we’re together again.”
“I missed you so much,” Lup says, tearing up. “I thought about you every single day, I wouldn’t let anyone forget you.”
“I missed you too. So much. Gods, let me…” He trails off, backing up just enough to see Lup’s face. He smiles, eyes wet, and brushes a strand of hair behind her ear. “You’re still so b-beautiful.”
“I could say the same for you, handsome.” He doesn’t have any loose hair, but her hands trace his face all the same. The curve of his cheek, the little bit of stubble, the crinkles around his eyes, it’s all exactly how she remembers.
“I love you so much,” he says. She wipes away the tear that falls down his face.
“I love you too,” she says, “And I mean it: I told everyone about you. I— Gods you don’t even know half the story. My friends and I, we’re—”
“Space explorers? Apocalypse fighters?” Barry asks.
“Wh— how’d you know?”
“I heard the story,” he says, “It even reached here.”
Lup is still for a moment, then she laughs. Barry laughs too, pulling her impossibly closer and she can feel the rumble in his chest.
“I guess you do know half the story, then,” she says, head on his shoulder. Her arms are wrapped around his neck and his arms are looped around her waist.
“Only half of it?” Barry is slowly swaying back and forth, and Lup could be rocked to sleep standing up.
“Yeah. I’ll tell you all about it. But later…” She readjusts her grip and breathes in the smell of him again. It’d be creepy if Barry wasn’t doing it too. Weird how many of the little things you miss after you lose someone.
Barry hums in response, just holding her. That’s all she needs, really. She only got through her time as a reclaimer and the fight against the apocalypse because she knew she’d see him at the end of it all.
“I wish this moment could last forever…”
“Who says it can’t?” Barry says, and Lup backs up at that. Only enough to see his face, but still.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, this whole time I was here I convinced The Grim Reaper herself to let me stay and w-wait for you.”
“You know Julia?”
“You… you know her too?”
“I told you there was another half to the story, babe.”
“Oh. Well, uh, I was thinking, I b-bet she could let us stay longer, if we asked. I mean, you’re— you did all of that and saved countless worlds, you could probably call in a favor.”
Lup chuckles. “I like the way you think, babe. But I’ll ask about all that later. Right now I just wanna… I dunno, I’ve missed being around you.”
Barry hums. Seems like he has too. Lup can’t stop herself from standing on her toes to close the distance between the two of them. They both immediately melt into the kiss, Lup shifting her hands to cradle Barry’s face. It’s been too long.
The kiss lasts longer than normal, because neither of them need to breathe anymore. But it ends eventually and Lup could come back to life just by seeing the look on Barry’s face.
Then she remembers something. “Oh! Almost forgot, hold on.” She reaches behind her head, undoing the clasp of her necklace. She takes it off and holds one end up so the ring on the chain falls off and into the palm of her hand.
“Is that…?”
Lup nods. “I went through hell to get it. I didn’t want to lose it. I, uh, I had already lost enough, you know?”
Barry looks sad at the fact, at Lup bringing up the elephant in the afterlife. Lup just lifts up his hand and slides the ring onto his finger, over the tan line.
“This reminds me of our wedding,” he mumbles.
“Yeah, Taako— my brother— he got so mad he missed it. He really wants to meet you, but didn’t want to until I could see you again.”
“Right, I heard about him in the story. Gods, you have a b-brother. I wanna meet him, I saw how important he is to you.”
“So are you,” Lup says, “I swear, you’d fit right in with all those goobers, they’d love you.” Sheepishly, she adds, “They kind of already do, I told them so much about you they might as well know you.”
Barry smiles. “You said he’s w-w-waiting to meet me? So he’s still alive?”
“Oh. No he’s a reaper too. There’s not just one, there’s tons. Taako and Kravitz work with Julia, they’re a team.”
Barry looks appropriately baffled. “You w-were right, I don’t know half the story.” Lup laughs, and Barry says, “Tell me the whole thing, from the b-beginning.”

What happens when it’s all over?
Hey everyone. I know I haven’t been posting anything, despite the couple slip ups from Haikyuu stuff.
I know I literally went radio silent from the moment I posted my first goodbye. And I think you all deserve an explanation why I left.
The Spouse Clan Disco crew heard it first, but a little note at the end!
TW: toxic relationships
I had been dealing with a toxic person in my life and I needed time to evaluate how I should deal with him. I called him one night and told him that we shouldn’t speak to each other nor meet up anymore.
He started to cry and beg me to stay. (He’d done this for the past year and I let it happen because I still loved him)  So I put my foot down and told him no.
Due to that, I strayed away from the HP/FB fandom because he told me that I shouldn’t be so excited about that and other fandom things. The fics I’ve posted were pre-written. I feel so bad for distancing myself from my comfort characters. I know it sounds stupid, but Newt and Theseus were everything and he took that away from me.
end backstory
I’ve tried to get back into writing for these brothers. I really have, but I don’t have the same love for writing for this fandom anymore. It hurts me so much that I can’t write all the things I planned for these brothers. It felt like a stab to the heart for every draft I deleted- a fic idea to never see the light of day. Rereading my old fics made me cry because I miss them so much, but they feel so out of reach. Harry Potter will always have a place in my heart and so will Fantastic Beasts, but I need some time away.
I will always see a little bit of me in this universe due to my OC that I have woven into my fics. Victoria will always have a special place in my heart. She’s everything I ever wanted to be, just more magical. It’s sad to see the Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Quidditch sweaters hanging right behind me- never to be worn again because of one person.
The one person that I’ve spent years confiding in. The one that I spent years loving, then pining, then realising that we would never work again. Our... “friendship” was never healthy and functional since the break up. I should have seen the signs sooner and I apologize for not doing so.
Theseus and Newton Artemis Fido Scamander will have a place in my heart of memories. Maybe one day I’ll recover and find the motivation to write for them again. Maybe I won’t. But know that I’ll always love them.
Don’t worry about deleting my blog or anything. I’ll keep this up- just in case anyone wants to come back and read these fics. Or for any new comers that stop by.
This isn’t a goodbye, but more of a farewell.
So what happens when it’s all over?
Remember how I mentioned the “Haikyuu slip ups”?
Well, I have been obsessed with that volleyball anime since my whole “character development” arc started. I’ve started writing for this fandom and so far, I love it here. Haikyuu!! is my new safe space for the time being.
If you like Haikyuu!! and wanna continue reading my stuff, follow me on

** Writing Challenge **
I know, I know, my next one isn’t quite wrapped up yet, buttttt this idea came to me when my cousin and I were taking a walk down a ridiculous part of Memory Lane and I got excited. I’m guessing this has been done before at some point -- that’s not stopping me from presenting to you:
Tumblr media
I love fluff. And I wanna see more of it!
Below the cut you will find some prompts that, in the context of Twilight, are absolutely cringe-worthy. My challenge to you is to take that prompt and make it something we can love.
Disclaimer: I’m not Twilight-shaming ANYONE. I literally sat and watched all of Eclipse and now want to watch both Breaking Dawns. It’s more about sentiment, and the occasional girly giggle for me, but ... yeah. No judgement here, friends.
Guidelines, prompts, and tags are below the cut! (Yes, I copied and tweaked from my last writing challenge. I’m being efficient, thank you! :P )
Please read all of the information carefully!
Rules, Guidelines, Important Dates:
Sign-Ups start when this post is live and will go through to December 30, 2020. I will accept two people for each prompt, one prompt per author.
Please send your sign-ups to my ask box so they’re easier to keep track of. I will answer them privately so I’m not flooding anyone’s dash!
In your ask, please include your preferred prompt and a backup option, as well as your pairing (so I don’t take the same pairing for the same prompt). Also, please let me know if you’ll be posting from a URL other than one you’re asking from.
To be included in the challenge masterlist, please post your fic (or the first part, if it’s a series) by Decemeber 31, 2020.
Please include an author’s note tagging me and mentioning the challenge in your fic post; include #BetterThanTwilightWC in the first five tags. If the tag doesn’t work, you may DM the link to me, also. If you decide to write a series, please tag me in the masterlist.
Please give me up to 48 hours to read your fic before checking if I have seen it. If I have not liked it after 48 hours, please DO check. (You know, since we’re all aware of how unreliable tumblr is. And how unreliable my mind can be. Yikes.)
The challenge masterlist will be posted between January 1 and January 4, 2020.
There are no word count limits, but please use the Keep Reading feature if your story goes beyond 500 words. Additionally, if your fic goes beyond 5000 words, please consider splitting it into multiple parts. This is not a requirement, only something to think about.
Yes, this is a FLUFF challenge, so you MUST have fluff as your main genre. You’re more than welcome to include other genres, but you MUST have a happy and/or hopeful ending.
You’re welcome to think outside of the box! Just because I’m talking Twilight and love stories, doesn’t mean there has to be romance! Give me  amazing friendships or strong family bonds or self-love. Or romance! Whatever you’d like.
You're welcome to change pronouns in the prompt as necessary! Heck, I tweaked a few of ‘em so they’re not Twilight-specific.
For personal reasons, I do not read and will not accept into the challenge (which means I will not reblog or add to the masterlist) stories that include: non-con/dub-con, underage sex, adult-child romantic/sexual relationships, spouse-bashing, child abuse – I could go on, but I think you get the idea. If you’re not sure about something, I’m always happy to answer questions!
Bring on the ships, OC’s, reader pairings – I’m trying to be more open-minded as of late, but I can’t promise that I will read everything. Again, for personal reasons. But I will reblog everything!
Characters and RPFs from Marvel/MCU are both welcome.
If you need an extension or need to drop out, please know that I am extremely flexible when it comes to that deadline/due date. In the words of Captain Barbosa, “It’s really more of a guideline.” Just shoot me an ask or a message and we’ll work something out, no worries!
Prompts:
1. “I have always loved you, and I will always love you.”  2. “The clouds I can handle. But I can’t fight with an eclipse.”  3. “I know what you are.”  4. “You held out your hand and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing.” 5. “You have a connection with her that I’ll never understand.” 6. “I’m glad she has you.” 7. “It will be like I never existed. I promise.” 8. “I knew who I wanted to be. I wanted to help people. Brings me happiness.” 9. “That will take a while to get used to.” “We have a while.” 10. “What if I’m not the hero? What if I’m the bad guy?” 11. “I’d rather hear your theories.” 12. (sarcastically) “Super. That makes me really happy.” 13. “You’re like my own personal brand of heroin.” 14. “Maybe I shouldn’t be dating such an old man. It’s gross. I should be thoroughly repulsed.” 15. “It’s an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to and they’ll accept you for what you are.” 16. “I’ve been waiting for what seems like a very long time to get beyond what I am.” 17. “I feel like I can finally begin.” 18. “He’s totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently nobody here is good enough for him.” 19. “He did say I couldn’t step inside the door. I came in through the window.” 20. “I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the earth. And I know how to use a gun.” 21. “Now I’m afraid.” “Good.” 22. “I’m not afraid of you. I’m only afraid of losing you.” 23.  “About three things I was absolutely positive ...” 24. “You’re so stubborn.” 25. “Do you know how worried I’ve been?” 26. “I can’t even think about someone hurting you.” 27. “The only thing that can hurt me is you, and I don’t have anything else to be afraid of.” 28. “Don’t antagonize her. She’s the strongest one in the house.” 29. “All right. That’s enough experimenting for one day.” 30. “It never made sense for you to love me.” 31. “I wish there had been someone to vote no for me.” 32. “It’s just a little baby.” 33. “How strongly are you opposed to grand theft auto?” 34. “I’m not missing another fight!” 35. “No one can hide like me.” 36. “If I asked you to stay in the car, would you?” 37. “I have one condition, if you want me to do it myself.” 38. “I had an adrenaline rush. It’s very common. You can Google it.” 39. “How did you get in here?” “The window.” 40. “I love a happy ending. They are so rare.” 41. “You should put your seatbelt on.” 42. “Can you talk about something else? Distract me so I won’t turn around.” 43. “I can’t live in a world where you don’t exist.” 44. “After all the thousand times I’ve told you I love you, how could you let one word break your faith in me?” 45. “Maybe that’s why they kicked me out.” 46. “All of my best nights have happened since I met you.” 47. “You know everybody’s staring?” “Not that guy ... no, he just looked.” 48. “She wishes she was that awesome.” 49. “Does he visit often?” “Yeah, all the time.” 50. “Lie ... Lie better.” 51. “I’m Switzerland.” 52. “That should have been our first kiss.” 53. “Would you like to hear my story? It doesn’t have a happy ending -- but which of ours does?” 54. “Another party?” “It’ll be fun.” “Yeah. That’s what you said last time.” 55. “You are the only one who has ever touched my heart. I will always be yours.” 56. “The way he watches you. It’s like he’s willing to leap in front of you and take a bullet or something.” 57. “Kill me! Not him!” 58. “Stay.” “Give me one good reason.” 59. “Yeah, it’s and off day when I don’t get somebody telling me how edible I smell.” 60. “Damn it! You’ll be the death of me, I swear you will.” 61. “If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I’m not afraid of it.” 62. “Do I dazzle you?” 63. “I’m tired of trying to stay away from you.” 64. “Bring on the shackles, I’m your prisoner.” 65. “You are my life now.” 66. “And then we continued blissfully into this small, perfect piece of our forever.” 67. “Nobody’s ever loved someone as much as I love you.” 68. “I don’t know what happened.” “You love him.” 69. “All of sudden it’s not gravity holding you to the planet, it’s her. Nothing else matters. You would do anything, be anything for her.” 70. “You really love her?” 71. “I don’t see the whole point of the rest of the world without her.” 72. “Then I found a promising site ... I waited impatiently for it to load, quickly clicked closed each ad that flashed across the screen. Finally, the screen finished -- simple, white background with black text; academic-looking. Two quotes greeted me on the homepage:” 73. “I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.” 74. “I’ll be fighting for her, too, and I’ll be fighting twice as hard as you will.” 75. “It’s always been him.” 76. “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you.” 77. “They’re coming for her.” “They’re not gonna touch her.” 78. “Doesn’t he own a shirt?” 79. “You know, if it weren’t for the fact that we’re enemies and that you’re also trying to steal away the reason for my existence, I might actually like you.” 80. “You have disappeared. Like everything else.” 81. “The absence of him is everywhere I look.” 82. “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you anymore.” 83. “Your number was up the first time I met you.” 84. “We all like to drive fast.” 85. “It’s too easy to be myself with you.” 86. “I’ve never given much thought to how I’d die, but dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go.” 87. “Don’t tempt me too far. My patience isn’t that perfect.” 88. “His tone questions my sanity, but it only made me more suspicious. It was like a perfect delivered line by a skilled actor.” 89. “What’s he mad about?” 90. “No measure of time with you will ever be enough.” 91. “I promise to love you forever, every single day of forever.” 92. “We’re gonna be great friends!” 93. “If I had my way, I would spend the majority of my time kissing him.” 94. “Until your heart stops beating.” 95. “I touched the cool miracle of his ski, and I was home.” 96. “Forbidden to remember, terrified to forget; it was a hard line to walk.” 97. “This isn’t the time to make hard and fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes.” 98. “Leave it to you ... you have to start hanging out with the first weirdos you can find.” 99. “I love him much more than I should, and yet still nowhere near enough.” 100. “I refuse to be affected by territorial disputes.”
