not currently going through a bpd episode, BUT since i did get (embarrassingly) jealous over a fictional character right now, lemme just pull up this clip.
so i’ve told y’all before that a bpd episode is basically the self critic part of your brain talking to you. NONSTOP. for hours or days, right????? and you can’t shut it off??????? 😃
well, this all has to do with both (i feel) the “intense emotions” and “fear of abandonment” symptoms of bpd. they play off of each other here (like several symptoms with bpd, actually 🤔).
you have an intense fear of abandonment. even the smallest of things can trigger it, even if you KNOW it’s nothing and isn’t 100% true.
…which feeds into you experiencing emotions intensely, and dude. this feeling is overwhelming and all consuming. NO FUCKING WONDER some people with bpd do impulsive things during an episode, because that feeling is fucking unbearable and you just want it to stop.
so!!! here’s a clip (from “crazy ex girlfriend,” such a good show with the worst name, it’s on netflix if you’re old enough and want a good watch) that, for me, accurately depicts someone’s mind if they’re going through a bpd episode
you see? you see how the self critic part takes the spotlight, and how your mind strays away from what you originally were upset about and is just bringing up insecurities?
(anyways. just a quick thing i wanna add at the end of this post since i’m gonna be talking about bpd a LOT on this blog (cause i can do whatever tf i want lol).
bpd can overlap with other mental issues. so someone experiencing an intense fear of abandonment doesn’t immediately mean that they have bpd. in fact, it takes a year of consistent behavior to be diagnosed with bpd.
so you GOTTA research this shit and read some books about bpd if you seriously believe you could have it. please don’t go off to the races to identify with a personality disorder, cause that’s fucked up imo and is completely disregarding how serious and much of a struggle it is to deal with a personality disorder (it’s STILL a disorder at the end of the day, you fucking DEGENERATES /not at you guys. this is @ tiktok culture))
