Imagine:
Telling Seth he's the love of your life
Request: Yes or No
:)
A gift for my lovely friend @borras-wings
~
(Y/N) smiled softly, looking over the engagement ring. The moment (Y/N) was turned, his life was ripped away from him. He watched friends, family, and lovers die while he lived in the shadows as a monster. When he came to terms with his curse, he came to terms with the fact he'd never find love. It changed when the infamous Seth Gecko strutted into his life.
(Y/N) watched the ice cubes melt, mixing in with his drink. He had tuned out whatever song they were playing, eyes focused on his drink yet his mind was elsewhere.
"What'd the drink do to you?" (Y/N) blinked, lifting his gaze and looking at the handsome man sitting beside him.
"What?" (Y/N) furrowed his brows, straightening up. His gaze trailed down, taking in the business suit. Not exactly club attire.
"You've been glaring at it for the past hour." The man chuckled, giving him a smile. (Y/N) hummed, shaking his head.
"Just.. Spaced out." He breathed out, shrugging lightly as he gently pushed the drink away. The man nodded, getting the bartender.
"Two beers. One for me and one for this lovely gent." The man said. (Y/N) cocked a brow, resting his head on his fist.
"So, you're here all alone.. Staring down inanimate objects. What gives?"
"I don't think I should be talking to a robber." (Y/N) said, glancing at the bartender when their drinks were placed down. The man, Seth Gecko, chuckled and leaned back.
"You've heard of me?" He asked, smug grin spreading across his pretty face. (Y/N) let a smile slip, nodding slowly as his finger slowly traced the rim of the glass.
"Business suit at an odd location, attractive young man, charming smile, culebra brother who's Satanico's ex. Everyone knows you." (Y/N) shrugged, watching him. Seth's shoulders tensed, grin slowly dropping. He cleared his throat, looking away as the playfulness disappeared. (Y/N) hummed, lifting the drink up to his lips. He placed it down, licking his lips.
"I heard you weren't a fan of us." (Y/N) sighed softly, looking at him. Seth shifted, glancing around the club. He leaned forward, arms resting on the hard wood.
"Shame.. I was hoping to score." Seth muttered, tapping his fingers on the wood. (Y/N) chuckled, facing him and leaning back in the stool.
"You still can."
"What's on your mind, sweets?" Seth asked, gaze on the road. He glanced at (Y/N), taking in the small smile on his face. (Y/N) looked at him, letting out a soft sigh. He lightly shrugged, looking forward.
"Nothing.. Just thinking about the wedding." (Y/N) replied, looking at his fiancé with a tender gaze. Seth nodded, smiling as he glanced at him.
"I still like the venue in Amarillo but if you want to have it in Mexico, we can make arrangements. Eddie and Kate are the only humans attending anyways." Seth gently took his hand, holding it as the car slowed down. They got out, the moon shining on the warehouse. They could hear hissing and grunting from inside.
"So, what's the issue?" Seth asked, grabbing some stakes from the trunk.
"Some rebelling culebras. A whole group of misogynistic idiots who think Kisa isn't a good leader." (Y/N) explained, approaching the warehouse with him. Seth hummed and nodded, entering the warehouse. They quickly dodged a flying Scott. Scott groaned, slowly getting up. He looked at them, giving a thumbs up. Seth returned it, raising his gun and shooting at the culebras. (Y/N) took a stake from Seth, running to the guy choking Richie. He quickly drove a stake through his chest, watching him drop Richie and turn to ash. Richie cleared his throat, fixing his glasses as he stood and gave him a nod. (Y/N) chuckled, reaching forward and fixing his tie.
"I know you and Kisa are still broken up. Thanks for coming to help my best maiden." (Y/N) said, smiling and turning around. Kisa was kicking ass as always. Kate and Scott were able to defend themselves pretty well. (Y/N) dealt with his fair share of culebras, gaze landing on one who picked up a stake. (Y/N) followed their line of sight, seeing Seth punching one culebra. (Y/N) swallowed, quickly rushing over. (Y/N) wrapped his arms around Seth, cringing when he felt the stake impale him.
"Babe?" Seth breathed out. (Y/N) bit his bottom lip, leaning back and resting his forehead against Seth's. He slid his ring off, slipping it in Seth's pocket.
"You're the love of my life, Seth Gecko. I love you so much." (Y/N) breathed out, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. Seth blinked, lips parting and eyes widening as he watched his lover turn to dust.

In the Bond-Chapter 21
Summary: Lilah often wished she’d never said yes to working with the Gecko brothers—usually while dodging gunfire. At no time was she regretting that decision more than when she’s hanging upside down from the ceiling, staring down a group of hungry culebras and one (1) extremely powerful sun god.
Word Count: ~4,100
Warnings: Gore, violence, knife play, blood play, blood drinking, smut
A/N: This is an AU of my Story In the Blood, which can be read here. Basically, this fic explores what would have happened if Lilah had met up with Geckos before she met Brasa.

To be fair, Lilah had definitely not been expecting the explosion. Sitting at the bar, nursing a bourbon with a single cube of ice, she had been scrolling through her phone while she waited for Brasa to be done with his meeting. The meetings were endless—finance, marketing, general council, outreach—they all meshed together, one right after the other, until she stopped keeping track.
When the elevator door opened and the bomb went off, Lilah had experienced something more than surprise—shock, possibly. Her ears were ringing, the left side of her body bleeding, shrapnel embedded in her arm and leg. She couldn’t speak, could barely see over the dust and smoke.
It took four attempts before Lilah could stand, her limbs refusing to obey the commands of her brain. She leaned heavily against the bar and looked around. The booths nearest to the elevator were destroyed, along with a few of the tables. The bar top was shattered at the far end, glass from liquor bottles dusting the broken wood. The bar tender’s torso was torn in half, the top end blown into the shelves behind the bar.
The more she looked, the more Lilah was overcome with the sight of scattered bodies, staff and visitors, alike. She wobbled on her feet, pain working its way past the adrenaline, throbbing all over. It pulsed behind her eyes, threatening to blind her.
Struggling, Lilah tried to gain her bearings. It took considerable effort to make the first step towards the back door. The second step was exponentially worse. Her fingers left the bar, and all she could do was fall to her hands and knees, bile rising in the back of her throat.
Dry heaving, Lilah couldn’t keep her eyes open. The earth spun around and below so that not even the solid foundation of the floor could ground her. A soft sob reached her ears, and she realized that it was her. She was crying, hot tears dripping down her cheeks.
“Lilah.”
She reached for him blindly with her good arm, her fingers meeting leather and heat. He was saying something, but she heard him as if through deep water. It was here that whatever strength she had gave out. Her body crumbled, rolling limply to lay on her side. Through blurred tears, she saw his face hover above her, felt him cup her jaw.
Offering no resistance, Lilah let him gingerly open her mouth. A moment later, she tasted his blood. Sweet and warm, Lilah swallowed it down, the stream so fast that she nearly choked on it. He must have cut deep. Desperate to live and for the pain to stop, she took whatever he was willing to give.
It was a long time—or, it felt like a long time, Lilah had no real sense of the minutes passing—before she could open her eyes without pain. The room was dark. She could hear the faint ripple of water. The floor below her was cool stone.
He’d moved her into his public office.
Lilah didn’t dare try to sit up. Her left side still burned with pain, her stomach rolling with nausea. Her ears, however, were perfectly able to hear the conversation happening not far away.
“I want his people dead, Javier. I want him found and brought to me.”
“Yes, my lord.”
“No mistakes.”
“Of course.”
“Go. Now.”
“Immediately, my lord.”
Footsteps walked past her, beautifully tailored slacks swimming past her field of vision. Lilah remained where she was, though she followed him until he turned towards the door. She felt Brasa move closer, saw him kneel down and sit beside her.
“How are you feeling?”
She took her time with speaking, “I hurt. I feel...tired.”
That was accurate. Though his blood was helping with the pain, her left side still throbbed, her head aching. She was exhausted in a way that told her she might not wake up if she slept.
Brasa hummed, acknowledging the statement, “If you’re feeling well enough, I will take you home.”
Lilah probably wasn’t quite up to the trip, but the possibility of sinking into their bed was too tantalizing to put off. She nodded, helping him to gather her into his body. He lifted her into a firm cradle, walking through to the back hallway. They took several turns, until she’d lost the ability to navigate, finally climbing up a set of steps.
It was near dark when he carried her out, and she recognized the far end of the garage. Brasa moved through and across to where they’d parked a few hours earlier. He eased her to stand so that he could open the door. The movement jarred her side, a grunt working its way out of her unwilling throat. She drew a breath and steadied herself.
Lilah looked over to the primary elevator, smoke seeping through the doors. She wondered how fast they could get the repairs in place, how many patrons had died, which staff she would never see again. The consequences of the attack were clear. Brasa would personally see to Benny’s end. It would be both vengeful and violent. She didn’t have the energy to sympathize with Benny, not when her legs shook beneath her weight.
Brasa hoisted her into the car, closing the door and moving around the back to the driver’s side. The engine turning over, the air kicking on, the familiar way the wheels rolled beneath the carriage. It was both normal and surreal.
Lilah was glad for the sunset, glad that the light was beginning to fade. Her head was still hurting, though it had dulled down. The low light let her keep her eyes open, let her focus on the landscape as it passed.
Not long after they left, Brasa’s phone rang. Lilah listened to him speak, worry building in her chest. Something had happened, possibly others were killed. He relayed the incident at the bar, relayed that Lilah was alive, though hurt. He relayed that he would see to her and then meet the other party later. Then, he hung up.
“What happened?”
Brasa’s hands gripped the wheel tightly, “Benny hit Jackknife’s as well.”
Somehow, she was both surprised and not surprised at the same time. It made perfect sense to hit both places at the same time, take out as many of their people as possible. He might have hoped, in the act, to have knocked down some of the major players. He almost succeeded with her.
Lilah gasped, “Was anyone hurt?”
“Richie was burned across his back, but the others are safe.”
Relieved, she asked, “Same technique?”
Brasa nodded, “In a liquor shipment.”
“Fuck,” Lilah breathed. “Fuck.”
He’d told her. Brasa had told her that Benny was going to resort to violence, that he would start making more aggressive moves. She was stunned at her own naivete. All along, she’d thought she knew how to plan, how to maneuver so that everyone got what they wanted. All along, she thought she knew what she was doing. Lilah had to finally admit to herself that she didn’t know shit.
“That is my feeling, as well,” Brasa murmured, taking the turn off the main highway.
“What are we going to do?”
He cast her a stern look, “You are going to rest. Javier is tracking him down. I will handle this.”
Lilah’s mouth thinned, “We can’t wait anymore. We have to close it. We have to stop this.”
“I know,” he said, one hand landing on her knee, “I will.”
Her chest tightened, her eyes watering again, emotions that she couldn’t describe pulling at her for her full attention. Lilah worked to calm her breath, one hand covering her eyes.
The car pulled to a stop, Brasa’s hands falling onto her shoulders, “Lilah, look at me.”
She shook her head, the tears coming faster. Emotions bubbled up, unchecked. She didn’t have any hope of keeping them inside.
“Please look at me.”
Reluctantly, Lilah lifted her gaze to him. His dark brows were drawn together, his mouth turned down in a frown.
“You’re alive, and I will ensure you are safe,” he told her in a soft, reassuring voice, “Your friends are safe. I will end this. I promise you.”
Blinking, tears touched her lashes, rolling down her cheeks and jaw, dropping to the hands folded in her lap. Brasa brushed them away, kissing her on the forehead.
He held her for a moment more, then leaned back to look her in the eyes, “It’ll be over soon.”
“I know,” she croaked.
Taking another second to check that she was, indeed, at a place where they could continue, Brasa released her and put the car back in drive.
When they reached the entrance, Brasa helped her out of the car, then picked her back up to carry her to the elevator. He held her all the way down and through the hall to their door. Gently, he eased her to standing, opened the door, then picked her back up, taking her directly to their bed.
With the greatest of care, he laid her down, taking off her shoes, socks, shirt, and jeans. Her clothes were shot through with her own blood, the fabric sticking. Every little hiss, every jerking moment, was noted. He watched her face for signs of further injury, hands barely grazing her skin as he revealed cut after cut, most of them on their way to healing.
Brasa continued removing clothing until she lay before him naked. He then went to the bathroom, returning with a bowl of water held between both hands, a towel over his arm. He cleaned her wounds, washing dirt and blood from her skin. Afterwards, he dressed her in an oversized shirt from her pajama drawer.
He let her rest against the pillows, hands pulling at the tails of his button up. He pulled free his cuffs, then worked down the long line at the center, tossing the shirt into the laundry. Turning from her, he worked at his belt, throwing it on a nearby chair, his slacks going the same way. Stepping into a soft pair of sleep pants, Brasa joined her on the bed, laying near enough that she could feel his body heat, but not touching her.
She turned her head to look at him, the hand by her face stretching out to touch two fingers to the skin just beneath his chin, “Thank you.”
The calm of his expression cracked open, his eyes flashing with something on the edges of grief, “I almost lost you, and you’re thanking me.” He sniffed, taking her hand, “I found you on the floor, bleeding. I felt your fear.”
She turned to her side, bringing his hand to her lips, kissing it, “I know. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize,” he said, “This wasn’t you.”
“I know.”
She tamped back the urge to apologize again. His pain was playing out in front of her, emanating through the bond in a ragged, crawling ache. She could feel how much he cared for her, how scared he was to see her hurting amongst the chaos of the explosion.
“I’m okay,” she said, eventually. “I feel better already.”
That was the truth. Her injuries were healing, the pain still present but no longer so piercing that she couldn’t think. He’d done what was necessary to not only ensure her safety, but her comfort—a fact that had not escaped her notice.
Brasa nodded curtly, rising up a bit to kiss her. Another, slower kiss followed, touched with sweetness and relief. She took the kisses as eagerly as she ever had, glad both for his support and for the fact that she was still alive.
He pulled away, looking her over, “I need you to do something for me.”
“Okay.”
He sat up, turning to pull open the nightstand. When he faced her again, he was holding his preferred knife. Lilah looked from the blade to Brasa and back, confused.
“I know I said that I would do this slowly, but I am...desperate to see that you are strong enough to withstand whatever happens while I close the portal.”
Fortified. The word rang in her head, bouncing off memories that were tainted in amber and smoke.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay,” she confirmed confidently.
Letting loose a held breath, Brasa set the blade aside and wiggled his hands beneath her, pulling her to sitting, and then astride his thighs, one arm circling her waist to help her balance. He’d held her like this over and over throughout their relationship, pulled securely into the comfort of his arms. Lilah felt more tears try to escape as she thought about how she might not have been able to do this again, how close she actually came to real death.
She had to shake herself free of the feeling, wanting to be strong for him. Bracing her hands on his biceps, Lilah relaxed her hips, all her weight resting on him. When he handed her the knife, she took it, looking to him for direction.
“You need to be able to do this, when I cannot,” he explained. “Cut deeply.”
Mouth open, Lilah regarded him with both shock and hot embarrassment. All the incidents where she’d needed to open a cut rushed by her, followed by the feeling of failure. She squeezed the knife, any further action aborted.
With practiced, easy movements, Brasa opened the blade, curling her fingers over the handle so that they fell into the grooves. Then, slowly, he set the sharp edge against the smooth skin of his chest.
“You can’t hurt me,” he murmured, his forehead touching her hairline, a physical support.
Lilah held still, her heart beating loudly in her ears, teeth tearing at the inside of her cheek. It took more willpower than she would ever care to admit to press the knife into him. She kept going until she felt the skin split apart. From either side of the blade, little beads of blood welled up. She looked up at him for signs of pain, finding none.
“Take,” he rasped, a hand at the back of her neck guiding her down.
Lifting the knife, Lilah followed the guidance of his hand, tongue sliding up the length of the cut, drawing the line of red into her mouth. She did it again, pulling back to swallow. Her fingers traced the mark as she watch it heal in real time.
“I heal quickly,” he drawled, as if it weren’t immediately obvious, “I need you to go deeper than that.”
Flushed and nervous, Lilah put the knife back to the same spot, allowing herself to push harder, past the point of the skin breaking, into the meat. He bled freely, if slowly. Lilah gathered it up, her mouth settling over the cut and sucking gingerly.
Brasa shivered under her mouth and hands, his chest expanding with an indrawn breath. She looked up at him, checking for signs of discomfort. He only nodded at her, taking her wrist and bringing the blade back to his skin.
The mark she’d made was no longer bleeding, though the area was raised and angry looking. She switched sides, cutting a longer line. This time, she’d gone deep enough that blood flowed heavily from the wound, dripping down over his stomach. Panicking, she pressed a hand over the cut, dropping the knife onto her thigh as she tried to gather the river of red onto the fingers of her other hand.
“Sorry, sorry,” she whispered, her voice reed thin.
Brasa laughed as he helped her clean the sticky mess across his chest and stomach. He drew her wet fingers into his mouth, tongue lapping at her palm and over her wrist. She swallowed, pushing back the first bloom of arousal in her belly. Her attempt was effectively thwarted when he tapped her lips with the pads of his first two fingers, sliding them into her mouth and over her tongue.
Lilah drew them deeper, sucking on them as she held his eyes, the warm brown already flooded through the whites with black. Behind the open seam of his lips, she could see the points of his fangs. With deliberate slowness, Brasa pulled the hand still on his chest away, giving it the same attention as he had the counterpart.
Skin tingling, Lilah watched him lick her clean, becoming more and more aware of the heat that seeped into her body where they touched, of how he burned against her.
Pushing the knife back into her hand, Brasa directed, “Again.”
The next cut marked a line from his massive shoulder down and over his collarbone. She tongued it, listening to him check a groan in the back of his throat. Beneath the thin fabric of his pants, she could see the outline of his erection, half hard.
Tempted as she was to touch him, the pleasure of watching him react to every cut, the feeling of her mouth on him, was more attractive. His hands massaged her sides, flexing over her body as if he were just barely overcoming the urge to pull her close. If she sucked hard on him, he’d emit a high, choked, moan, his eyes closing as he fought for control. Behind and underneath her, his legs shifted restlessly, sliding against the sheets.
The more she drank from him, the hotter he got, his breath coming in gasps and shudders. Lilah felt herself wondering how far he would let her go, how much he would let her take. The wounds on her body no longer ached in quite the same way, her fatigue fading similarly. Lilah could feel every drop of his blood working its way through her veins, overcoming injuries her human body couldn’t hope to repair so quickly.
She’d lost count of how many cuts she’d licked from him, most of the marks already healed. Brasa had started leaning into the blade, forcing her to push deeper. Blood had dried in some spots, in the creases of her hands and on the metal of the knife. Lilah looked him over, noting the glassiness of his eyes, the relaxed muscle in his frame.
He kissed her, tongue rolling along hers, his nose pressed into her cheek. Lilah held onto him, the rising tide of her arousal working its way past her defenses.
Pulling away, their foreheads touching, Brasa breathed hard. They remained like that, the air sizzling around them, until Lilah brought the knife up to lay against his neck, the point indenting but not puncturing the skin.
“Go on,” he urged, his eyes watching her intensely.
She pushed it in. Lilah had cut him deeper in other places, had opened him wider not minutes before. But, as she pulled the knife free and fixed her mouth over the wound, Brasa’s head fell back, a feral sound rumbling in his chest. She anchored herself with a hand behind his head, fingers tangled in his hair. Mouthful after mouthful passed her lips. She drank until she had to pull back for air.
He’d wrapped both arms around her waist, pulled her so that their chests were pressed together, her hips resting intimately in the cradle between his thighs. She couldn’t help but to rock against him in small circles, the friction of his pants against her folds tantalizing and delicious.
“Can you…?” He asked, body shaking as he held himself as still as possible.
It didn’t really matter to her whether or not she physically could, Lilah needed to be closer to him. She needed to have him inside her, feel the safety of being in his arms.
“Yes, yes,” she said airily, “Please.”
His weight shifted, and she knew he was going to put her on her back. Lilah stopped him, both hands on his chest, pushing him down. He went, his dark head landing on the pillow. She kissed him as she worked his pants down, freeing his erection. With one hand, she held him steady, balancing on his chest with the other. And then she was sinking down on him in one slow, unrelenting thrust that drew him in to the base.
Brasa pulled his lips between his teeth, strain at the corners of his eyes. The hands on her thighs squeezed, an entreaty to end the agony of delayed pleasure. She rose up, letting her body fall back down a few times, until she built up a rhythm. Her hips worked, his cock dragging against her walls as she tried to find the right angle.
Her slick dripped down between them, the sound obscene in the all too quiet room. Despite the fact that his blood was coursing through her, she felt her muscles begin to burn with the movements. Frustrated, Lilah rested her body against his chest with a defeated whine.
Arms coming up to hold her to him, Brasa kissed her, saying against her mouth, “Let me help you.”
Below her, his core flexed, broad ropes of muscle working to ease his cock in and out of her. He tilted her head to the side and bit into her neck. Lilah winced, her whole body tensing at the intrusion. He drank slowly, his teeth holding their place inside the bite.
The first tingle of venom ran along her arm to her fingers. Then, it moved down into her chest, before it burst outwards, exploding all over her body. He kept feeding it to her, kept pushing more and more of it into her veins. Lilah’s eyes rolled back as her arousal, already at a boil, overflowed the containment of her body.
She ground down on him, the movement catching her clit and scraping against the flushed lips of her folds. The firm bracket of his arms kept her from moving to freely, kept her focused on the way he intermittently hit her g spot.
“There,” he praised, licking at his bite languidly, “So good. So fucking good.”
Panting, Lilah buried her face into his neck, digging her nails into his shoulders. Little moaning gasps left her with each thrust, every time he filled her bringing new higher sensations. It rolled upwards, unstoppable, until she keened against him.
With a gratified rumble, Brasa palmed her ass, holding her in place as he fucked her harder, seeking his own release. He came on the tail end of her orgasm, meeting the slowing spasms of her body with a hard, circling grind.
Lilah might have passed out, she didn’t quite know. But, when she was able to focus again, she was laying atop Brasa, sweat cooling on her body, a little sore, and smiling.
“I need a shower,” she murmured, salt and dried blood dotting her skin.
“In a moment,” he replied, pushing her hair back from her face, “Let me get the feeling back in my legs.”
Lilah laughed, easing off him and to her side, “We’re gonna have to change the sheets.”
“Tomorrow.”
She had to agree with that. Anything more the absolutely necessary could wait.
From the floor, Brasa’s phone rang. He sighed heavily and rose, answering. Lilah watched his expression turn stormy, watched his eyes grow red in anger. He said a few words in Xibalban and hung up.
“What happened?”
He glanced at her, “They’ve lost track of him. I’ll have to hunt him down myself.”
The way he said it. The way he was already pulling out clean clothes told Lilah all she needed to know about his intent.
Lilah sat up slowly, “Be careful.”
There was no use in attempting to set him off track, not with the way his shoulders and jaw had set.
“I will.”
Brasa dressed, his hands and body covered in leather he hadn’t worn in days. She kissed him goodbye, her gaze following him through the bedroom door. When the front door clicked shut, she sagged against the pillows, drowsy. Petulantly, she pushed to standing and showered. Pulling on one of Brasa’s shirts and a pair of underwear, she crawled back into the bed and let herself doze.
The smell of smoke awoke her. It billowed down the hall from the direction of the living room. Lilah rushed from the bed, choking as she found the end of the hall completely engulfed in flames. Without thought, Lilah turned and hauled ass to the door leading to the caves, thankful that he’d left it unlocked following their little game of hide and seek.
With quick feet that slammed against uneven stone, Lilah moved, trying to retrace the path to the hole in the ceiling. It took four dead ends and the sudden fear that she’d gotten irreparably lost before she saw it.
Lilah crawled up the ramp, dragging herself through the opening and out into the dark of the desert. On her knees, she caught her breath, one hand on her chest.
“Well, this isn’t how I thought smoking you out of hiding would go, but I’ll take it.”
Lilah looked up, startled.
Benny.

thanks so much for the tag @dufflesmckagan!
last thing you ate: frozen mini snickers bar (not like a snickers ice cream bar, just a normal one i keep in the freezer)
how many fandoms you’re in: i never know how to answer this because i blog about fucking everything but i guess for the purposes of trying to answer it: my url is a waterparks reference, i shoutout the west wing, the beatles, and the kennedys in my about. the three other things that are also important enough to be classed with those four that are: my chemical romance, from dusk till dawn: the series, and the good place
what do you do when you can’t sleep? stress. i don’t do anything productive i just lie in bed and panic about how i can’t sleep. as someone in my twenties whose had insomnia literally my whole life you’d think i’d have a better plan but nope. oh! take a melatonin (or another one if i already took one) is something i technically do
favourite character (s): leo mcgarry, richie gecko (series version), jason mendoza, wednesday addams, max mayfield, harley quinn
pineapple on pizza? it’s not my thing but i also don’t have strong feelings about it like some people seem too. if you’re into it live your truth
funniest thing you’ve heard today: one of my coworkers said another coworker’s quarantine beard (seen for the first time in a while over zoom) was so large it looked photoshopped on his face and i said it looked like the fake beards they put on guys in civil war movies. that was pretty funny.
thanks again for tagging me, i love these things!

Corrupting Sin
Prompt: “Hi. I love your blog so much. I was wondering since there isn't that much stuff of Seth Gecko from the series from dusk till dawn. Maybe you can write a smut about him?” [Any particular episodes or details I should pay attention to?] “Season 2 episode 1 is a really good episode to kinda get a feel of what Seth is like after Richie turned and what not. And the reader can take place of Kate (the girl who is traveling with Seth) or could be with them both? And tells him what she really thinks about him. Sorry if this is bad Lol not really a used to this” [You did great! I hope you like how this turned out!]
Pairing: Seth Gecko x Reader (Y/N) [No mention of Kate, sorry]
Warnings/Promises: talk of show-like violence, almost drug use, language, SMUT, dirty talk, bonus accidental Princess Bride quote
Word Count: 1760
Note: My goodness, why is this so long? Because it’s smut filled; that’s why! Oops, haha. I lost count of how many sitting this took, but it came out great. And doing research was a lot of fun (watching and reading.) Thanks for the request. Don’t forget to reblog it; comments and gif reactions are much appreciated!
“What the hell was that?” Seth’s gun clattered across the table. The meager bag of money bounced off the bed onto the floor.
“The guy was trying to be a hero,” you said, “so I kicked him in the balls.”
“And then his buddy slapped you. So I had to drop ‘im.” Seth stormed past you, making sure to bump your shoulder on the way by. The not so secret black bag in his stuff landed on the bed next.
You shook your head, apologetic. “Please… don’t. I’m sorry.”
But he continued to unpack. Out came the syringe. The spoon. Your hand on his finally stopped his practiced movements.
“I don’t want to watch you shoot up again.”
Seth wrapped the elastic around his arm. “Then leave. Go study your notes. Don’t come back if you don’t like what you see.”
“What if the problem is that I do like what I see. But I don’t like watching him pump himself full of poison.” You kept your eyes downcast, waiting for the next smart retort. When it didn’t come, you looked up. Seth had leaned back against the headboard.
He licked his bottom lip. “If you can’t allow my sin… did you have something else in mind?”
This was a switch. Did you miss something? Had he already shot up? Because there was no way he was actually saying this while being fully sober. Then again, you had mentioned your sort of crush on the Gecko brother.
“If it takes that long for you to think about it, forget it.” Seth reached for his stuff again. Again, you got in the way.
It was your turn to lick your lip. Stalling for time. “We’ve both lost people. And we could lose each other at any second, knowing what we do. If we do this, if I become your new ‘sin’… this stuff goes. Even if you lose me too. Deal?” All you could, or wanted, to see was your hand sitting over his. Seth crooked his finger under your chin and angled your face to look up at him.
“The poison is already there, sweetheart. I can’t promise that I’m not going to drift back to it now and again. But I would appreciate the help. I don’t… I don’t want a thirst of any kind ruling me like one’s ruling… Richie.” His thumb caught over your chin, giving him enough leverage to pull your face closer to his leaning to meet you. “But do you really want this? Or were you just saying it to keep me from doin’ my thing?”
“I really mean it, Seth.” You’d spoken without really thinking. Then again, you’d wanted this since surviving till that first morning.
His touch was gone for just long enough to get rid of his stuff. Then his hands were back, cupping your face gently. The things on the bed were pushed out of the way easily to make room for two sitting spots. He hesitated for another moment, making you think he was second-guessing himself. In the next moment, you finally got to taste his lips. He hummed into your mouth moving slow and deliberate. Damn this man. He was learning you. Which direction to tilt to match. How much to press forward. How much to lean back so you’d chase him. Seth’s thumbs smoothed down your neck, his other fingers curling in your hair at the base of your neck. You reached up to do the same.
He chuckled and nuzzled his nose across your cheek. “How much sin are you willing to give?”
“I don’t know. How much will it take to re-corrupt you?”
Seth laughed back in his throat. While his hands fell down to your hips, his smile kissed down your neck. You controlled what clothes moved. His shirt. Yours. You tried to open his belt buckle but sat back when you couldn’t. No quips from him, though you could tell they were on the tip of his tongue. Standing, Seth smirked and made a show of undoing the buckle and lowering his jeans. Before he could get them much past his hips, you hooked a finger in his boxers.
“These too?”
The boxers went too. Even the heat of the room wasn’t enough to stifle the heat rising under your skin and racing through your veins. You didn’t notice the rest of your clothing being removed. Or how grimy the sheets felt under your skin. Instead, there was Seth. His tattoos rippling under your fingertips. His lips latching around your perked nipples. And his length hard and trapped between you. He caught your wrists as you tried to reach for him, pinning them on either side of your head.
With a wicked grin that made your whine catch in your throat, he kissed between your breasts. It was a distraction. Your wrists were shifted to one hand above your head. The other suddenly cupped at your sex. It was inevitable that you were going to buck onto his hand. If anything, that’s what Seth wanted.
“You going to cum all over my fingers, Princess?” He worked up past the hollow of your throat to your pulse point. “I bet I can make you scream just with these.” To emphasize that point, he roughly curled two fingers. His knee kept you from squeezing your thighs together. “See? Sinning so well for me already.”
A spark shot down to your toes as he did it again, pressing the heel of his palm into your clit. The rasp already in your voice distorted your words.
“What was that? I didn’t catch it.”
Cheeky.
“Please, Seth… need you.”
He huffed a laugh under your jaw. “Nuh-uh. Not until you’ve cum. Not until I’ve begun to corrupt you too.”
Seth pulled back as you arched into his chest. All the while, he kept working you, teasing your clit, making you gasp and moan. You knew he wanted to make you scream. He was nearly there. The arch in your back gave him an advantage. Again, he took your nipple into his mouth, sucking on it like you knew he’d do to your clit given another chance. Your whines reached a tipping point. Seth moved on to the other, giving it the same attention as the first. His hips began to rock, sliding his cock over your hip. So close. But not until you gave him what he wanted.
The quickening of his movements sent you over. And yes, screaming. But without the oxygen that he’d been stealing from you by sucking on your breasts made it weak. It stuttered out quickly without nearly enough power to satisfy your hungry lover.
“Well that won’t do,” he said, sitting back perplexed. That didn’t last long. He leaned forward again, nose to nose. “A deeper approach should work.”
Finally, your hands were released. But it was so he could control your hips with a vice-like grip after moving you up to rest on the pillows. There wasn’t room for you to wriggle or to try and get away. Chest heaving, you did your best to prepare for whatever he had planned. He noticed your unease and titled his head, refusing to go any further until you spoke up.
You nodded. “I’m ready. Just please, Seth, fuck me.”
“As you wish, Princess.”
But he didn’t fill you immediately. No, Seth wanted to get every ounce of pleasure out of you. Se he moved slowly. Rolling his hips to only give you less than an inch at a time. If it was this easy for him to make you breathless, you should have given into this a long time ago. You clawed down his forearms. When he was fully sheathed, he fell forward, bracing himself on either side of your hips. You were ready. You were ready a lifetime ago. Without his hands blocking your hips, you could circle up to hopefully get him to move. His hands flashed back to their position.
Seth did move though. Slow and irritating, but oh so blissfully eye-crossing. He leaned down to nip at his favorite spot between your breasts as you arched. “That’s it,” he whispered. The need to see you fall apart cracked. He moved just a little faster, eyes bright with watching your mouth fall open from where you’d been biting your lip. Then a bit more. Your nails dug into his wrists. You pulled him down so you could feel his chest heaving against yours.
There you both hovered. Somewhere between ice and passion-consuming fire. Where you were connected, Seth slammed into you over and over. With a slight dip of your head, you could just see him filling you with each thrust. And you could see your body resisting to let him go. Titling your head, you gave him access to your neck to suck as dark a mark as he wanted. Your resolve, your fear, and your walls were broken. What were a few broken blood vessels in the shape of his tasting you?
Behind his back, you locked your ankles. He angled your hips back, giving him a deeper reach. You cried out. Triumphant, Seth kept spearing that point. He explored around there, searching for the spot that would make you really loud. Finding that spot made your walls clamp around him. He gasped into your neck and faltered in his pace.
“That feel good, Princess?” he moaned. Seth kept speaking, revealing how delirious you made him. “You feel so good. Taking me like this. Marking me. Those sounds. You sound so wrecked, Princess.” A growl shuddered through him as you scraped your nails down his back. “You make me so wrecked.”
Whimpers of pleasure gave way to clipped screams of desperation. So close. A little bit more and he’d have the sin that he wanted. You would be fully corrupted.
You came, screaming into his shoulder and melting. Seth continued to control the last movements of your body until he too went rigid before collapsing beside you. He rolled onto his back and pulled you half over him, amused by how your arm raised up and down on his chest.
The room over, someone banged on the wall and shouted words too muffled to understand.
Seth banged back. “Oh hell no,” he muttered. “I hope you’re up for more, Princess, because I’m about to annoy the hell outa that asshole.”
He pulled you to sit across his stomach, ignoring your exhausted squeak of surprise.
“How ‘bout we try this with you on top this time?”

for the fandom meme: A, D, L, O, W!
Your current OTP.
Forever and always Seth Gecko/Richie Gecko.
I could gush, but I feel like I would embarrass myself and everyone else. They’re basically an OTP packaged and made for me in that they’re symbiotic codependent assholes who only function well when they’re together and when they’re together, they’re terrifyingly brilliant and in sync in a way that feels like muscle memory rather than practice. I love how even when they’re fighting, when they’re angry and resentful of each other, this fact is unchanged, they fall in line and work together like a well-oiled machine. And the fact that they are the happiest when together and that they choose each other whenever presented the choice, well—again, made for me. I’m still obsessed after five years.
What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?
I will take this at literal face value and tell you about the first fic I ever posted! I was a small fourteen year old and I was obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera and I wrote a fic wherein an Original Character (probably a self insert type of deal, if I’m being honest) gets thrown back in time to the world of The Phantom of the Opera, but it was kind of a mundane AU in that Erik was legitimately teaching Christine as her music teacher. My OC was playing matchmaker between them and was also paired with Raoul de Chagny because I thought Patrick Wilson was a babe (he’s still a babe, tbh). An older fan took pity on me and offered to beta my work because she thought my idea was interesting and not something she’d seen before. I eventually took down the fic, but I still have the chapters I wrote in old ass wordpad documents. I keep everything I’ve ever written, I have a graveyard of dusty old WIPs scattered across various USBs and google docs.
Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for?
I wish I could name fanartists by name, but I suck and generally know them by their work. Mostly I just wish that we’d attract more fanarts to the From Dusk Till Dawn fandom so I could have more fanart. I don’t have anything particular in mind, I just wish I could draw so I could make my own. There’s only so much I can do with graphic making and some of the stuff in my head requires artistry skill I just don’t have and makes me sad.
Choose a song at random, what ship does it remind you of?
I am at work, so I am using my Pandora stations and I put them on shuffle and I got Kiss With A Fist by Florence and the Machine—which is a Seth/Richie song to me, especially during the S2 arc where they’re both desperate to pretend the other doesn’t care, but they do and it’s kind of expressed with violence. I am still working on a fanvid for them to that song actually.
5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms.
Let’s play and game and guess what my favorite archetype with this set of five:
Kisa in From Dusk Till Dawn
Maeve Millay in Westworld
Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy/ Marvel Cinematic Universe
Sansa Stark in A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones
Hayley Marshall in The Originals

kate fuller ( @godclaws ) said to richie gecko ; ❝ you know, i used to be scared of these people. ❞
richie gecko doesn't do fear. he doesn't see any reason to let people get to him in that way. he's also an almost all powerful culebra, so fear just isn't a problem to him. he's stronger than he's ever been, and no one can really stop him. but of course, kate doesn't have that advantage. she's . . . human. fragile in a way that richie's never understood. ❝ why? ❞ he asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked over at kate, ❝ you're better than all of them . . . ❞

After a truce with Klaus Mikaelson, Marcel was banished to the hidden heart of New Orleans; where the beastly, young prince now resides in a beautiful castle, but remains bitter and guilt-ridden. His only form of solace is the beautiful objects he fills his castle with. And his parties are always with the most beautiful people. Then one night, an unexpected intruder arrived at the castle seeking shelter from the bitter storm: Santanico Pandemonium–the kind of goddess he thought only existed in Rebekah: Klaus’ sister and Marcel’s former object of affection. With this girl, came newly-found confidence and a lowering of the white flag he once waved. After showing his true face to the young latina and having her show hers in return – they made a pact to free each other from slavery of all forms. However, as their relationship kindled, two brothers: Seth and Richard Gecko were on a search for the vampire goddess.
“You got yourself a new squeeze? She another version of your ex-wife? Because they all are.” said Richie, grinning, not yet aware that he was referring to Santanico (his ex-girlfriend). All Seth told him was that they were heading to New Orleans to rescue a girl worth a first-class ticket to El Rey (a paradise worth dying to get to.) But what Seth actually wanted, was to make sure she was all right. He took a liking to her but if Richie knew that, he’d fang-the-fuck-out. “Just trust me, brother, it’s an easy job. Snatch ‘n run. Doesn’t get any easier than that.” Richie rolls his eyes, sucking a soda through a straw, “I highly doubt that, Seth. Nothing with you is ever simple. Remember that job in Ohio? You said that would be simple. Was it? No. I had to wear a cast for three months and couldn’t even give myself a hand-job for weeks. You know how difficult it is not to jerk off with all the strip clubs you bring me to?” With a deep sigh, Seth turns to Richie with an exasperated hand-motion, “Can we please, for the love all things El Rey, not discuss your junk? Thank You!” Richie continues sucking on the straw even after the cup is left with only ice. “What are you jonesing over there? Can you chill with the fucking cup?!” Seth rolls down the window and grabs the soda from his brother before tossing it out the window, clearly agitated. “Who is this girl? Really? Because you seem on edge, brother. More than usual. And that says something, ‘Mr. Be Cool.’” Seth thought about telling his brother the truth, but instead zoned him out and pressed down harder on the gas: A clear sign he wouldn’t be talking again for a while.

In the Bond-Chapter 13
Summary: Lilah often wished she’d never said yes to working with the Gecko brothers—usually while dodging gunfire. At no time was she regretting that decision more than when she’s hanging upside down from the ceiling, staring down a group of hungry culebras and one (1) extremely powerful sun god.
Word Count: ~2,600
Warnings: None
A/N: This is an AU of my Story In the Blood, which can be read here. Basically, this fic explores what would have happened if Lilah had met up with Geckos before she met Brasa.
Taglist: @symbiont13
Start from the beginning Previous Chapter Next Chapter
Read on AO3 Masterlist
Lilah swung the shopping bag in one hand, the other shoving the keys into her pocket. She’d ended out keeping the SUV Brasa had lent her the week previous, claiming that she liked the ‘rental’ so much that she’d made an offer to buy it outright. It was a believable lie, Lilah had a habit of picking up and dropping off cars on a whim. Easier to keep under the radar when no one knew what make and model she drove.
The air conditioning in the bar hit her hard, goosebumps rising along her arms. It was nearly empty, as it usually was mid-afternoon. Too late for the morning crowd to stay, too early for the night crowd to meander in. The room smelled vaguely of liquor and the sun streaming in through the windows cast unfamiliar shadows over the floor.
She noticed that Kate was sitting at the bar, nursing a soda. For once, Richie was nowhere to be seen. Lilah sidled on up to her, dropped the bag on the floor as she took a seat, and signaled to bartender.
“Bourbon and coke.”
Kate smiled at her, “Isn’t it a little early to be drinking?”
This was said with a smile that could potentially be described as sly. Lilah, like Seth, didn’t exactly adhere to a strict schedule when it came to alcohol. Too many nights that turned into days that turned into diving into a bottle to forget.
“It’ll be five o’ clock in...three hours,” Lilah quipped as she took the glass from the bartender, “Close enough.”
Lilah sat with her drink for a while, enjoying the fact that there was little to no activity going on in the bar. Aside from Kate and the bartender, the room was pretty much empty. She realized that she had spent almost all of her awake hours the last few days either catching up on what had happened while she was gone or in some kind of meeting.
Seth had taken a more active role in managing the staff, and he consulted with Lilah daily about one thing or another—usually some sort of internal conflict. She’d taken to writing down some basic policies and procedures for him to reference so that he wasn’t knocking on her door in the middle of the night with questions. Despite having just come back from a three month vacation, Lilah still needed to sleep.
A question floated across that train of thought, “What’s Richie been up to?”
Kate gave a little shrug, “The usual, trying to maintain some sort of order with our nocturnal friends.”
“Oh?”
Nodding, Kate added, “Its not just Brasa’s people that are struggling to adjust. We’ve had some kickback here, too.”
To give herself a moment to think, Lilah took a slow pull from her glass, “And how is that going?”
“Well,” her voice had a soft tone of uncertainty, “They aren’t super happy that we’ve done some population control. Kind of kills the mood when we’re trying to get them to buy in to the new way of doing things.”
“I can imagine.”
Given what Lilah had seen in the cave not a few days before, she had a good idea of what Seth and Richie were facing on the other side of the fence. They offered work and beds to those who could staff the bar, but didn’t have the organization or power that Brasa seemed to have. It was lucky that Richie had such a mind that he could predict attacks with an uncanny accuracy. Otherwise, or both brothers would be dead by now.
Rolling her neck, Kate offered, “But, there are a surprising number that want to assimilate—they miss their old lives, you know?”
Lilah did know. There was still a part of her, slowly dwindling, that wanted to go back to the night she met Seth and tell him to fuck off. Everything would have been a whole lot simpler now, if she had. On the other hand, she wouldn’t have met Brasa. He’d become so critically ingrained in her everyday life that the thought of him not being there felt too strange to contemplate.
“Are you gonna talk about it now?” Kate asked without provocation. She had pushed her soda away and was fixing Lilah with a narrowed look.
Lilah blinked, “What?”
With a sigh borne out of frustration, Kate turned on her stool and faced Lilah head on, “The bond. Are you going to talk about it?”
Stunned, Lilah felt her jaw unhinge as she stared at Kate in shock. She went over her recent memories to double check that she hadn’t given it away. Lilah had kept it hidden, she was sure of it.
Kate laughed, a high, clear sound that made Lilah flinch, “Richie told me about it months ago. You can’t hide that kind of thing from other culebras. Its supposed to be obvious, for safety’s sake. Keeps them from crossing boundaries accidentally.”
Lilah continued to stare, her chest tightening as she slowly began to panic. She’d ask Brasa about how it was ‘obvious’ later, when her mind had stopped spinning. For now, she had no lie to put things to right again.
Kate noted her stricken expression and laid a gentle hand on her arm, “Its okay. I won’t tell. I just thought you might need someone to talk to. I know I did.”
Dear holy fuck, but Lilah really needed someone to talk to. All of these months and months of keeping her mouth shut had built up in a way that took an immense effort to subsume.
After another moment’s pause, Lilah blurted, “I don’t know how to handle it. Its everywhere, all the time. And… the worst part is that I don’t care. I’m still struggling to accept it, but I want to keep it.”
The dichotomy of being both ashamed and deeply satisfied by her relationship with Brasa was the thing that kept her chest tight, her shoulders hunched. It sat next to her as she tried to sleep at night. It needled her in the quiet moments between tasks. Lilah rubbed at her forehead, feeling a headache coming on.
Kate’s smile was serene, “That’s good, because if Richie’s anything to go by, Brasa wouldn’t allow you to break the bond, even if you wanted to. He’d die to keep it intact.”
Lilah’s brows came together, “What does that mean?”
“Exactly what I said. He’d do anything to keep you with him. He kind of has to, anyways.”
“What does that mean?”
Kate lifted her hand to signal the bartender, “Two of what she’s having.” Then, she turned back to Lilah, “Listen, I don’t know if its matches up exactly with how my bond with Richie is, but Brasa is the one bonded to you, not the other way around.”
Lilah looked at her blank faced. The book had definitely not put it that way. Brasa had said he was the elder, he had said that he would be expected to lead.
The bartender brought their drinks and Kate fiddled with the little straw, stirring the ice around, “You’re weaker than he is.”
Lilah sneered, “Is it that obvious?”
Kate rolled her eyes, pushing Lilah’s glass at her, “Its always the strong party’s responsibility to protect and serve the weaker. Evens the playing field when—is it fate? Whenever whatever that decides these things steps in.”
“I don’t get it,” Lilah said blandly.
Honestly, she was getting tired of feeling confused. All these shifting realities were difficult enough to track and follow. She didn’t need to feel stupid on top of it.
Giving another little shrug, Kate took their drinks from the bartender, setting one in front of Lilah, “He’s like a billion years old and a literal demigod. The bond would weaken him long term, if he didn’t build you up, if he didn’t lend you some of his power.”
This rang of familiarity, and it made Lilah’s skin tighten with awareness of how she had never put two and two together. Still, the pieces weren’t locking into place cleanly enough for her to feel like she was on steady ground.
“What the fuck does that mean?”
Swirling the amber liquid in her glass, Kate fixed her with a coy smile, “It means that a large part of his life will be spent listening to and anticipating your needs. In return, your blood will make him stronger than he ever was, or ever could be without it.”
“That doesn’t make any sense.”
“Welcome to supernatural mating practices,” Kate deadpanned. “None of it really makes any sense.”
Lilah turned the whole thing around in her mind, “So, he has to do what I say?”
“He is inclined to do as you ask, but your safety and protection is his priority, above all.”
There was something in the statement that didn’t sit well with Lilah. She was used to commanding some sense of obedience during jobs, but this was far more intimate. It felt wrong to know that she could just...ask for something, and he would do it without question.
“But,” Lilah continued, “I don’t want to order him around.”
Kate set her glass down, “I don’t doubt it. I’ve had to learn to watch my words around Richie. If I even look at something in store for more than five seconds, It’ll be waiting for me when we get home.”
Lilah thought about it. Brasa hadn’t bought her anything, that she could tell, but he had given in to her will on numerous occasions. She couldn’t believe that she hadn’t figured it out yet.
“Have you had the dreams yet?”
Lilah snapped back to attention, “Dreams?”
“Yeah,” Kate prompted, her expression taking on a little excitement, “Where you’re sharing them?”
“Uh,” Lilah drawled, embarrassed, “A little.”
Kate nodded sagely, “If the bond is stressed, you’ll have more of them.”
“Why?”
“No idea,” Kate said as she fiddled with her glass.
There was a long silence, both of them lost in their thoughts. Lilah considered how far she’d come in her bond with Brasa, and how far she still needed to go. There were so many unknowns, and she feared that her reticence would eventually lead to him leaving her. And yet...Kate had said that he couldn’t—that would lead to worse things. Lilah could handle rejection, but eternal resentment was not something she was prepared to deal with.
“What’s he like?”
Lilah looked up at the question, her brows rising, “Who?”
Kate shot her a knowing look, “Brasa.”
Lilah considered the question, her breath flowing out of her lungs in a soft sigh, “He’s accommodating.”
“And?”
Lilah felt another little wave of embarrassment well up. She wasn’t used to disclosing this kind of information, and the thought of gushing to a girlfriend about a lover made her cringe. Still, this was likely the only person in the world who could really understand what she was going through, who could put things into perspective and help her make good decisions.
“He’s...smart. So smart. Every time we talk about the business, I feel like I’m taking a master class. And, he really listens to me, wants to know my opinion on things.”
“And?”
She thought further, “He’s attractive. Sometimes I look at him and I just…”
As she trailed off, Kate nudged her, “Have you had sex yet?”
“No,” Lilah admitted, “Although we’ve made out a few times—fuck, that makes me sound like a teenager.”
Kate chuckled, lifting her glass to her mouth, “That’s what I felt like, too. Although, I was actually, like, seventeen when Richie and I met.”
This was a story that Lilah had been waiting to hear. The two of them were so diametrically opposed in personality that the match seemed unlikely. She had asked Richie just the one time about how they got together, before Kate had been rescued from Amaru. His only answer was that he ‘kidnapped her.’
“Yeah?” Lilah prodded lightly.
“Yep,” she sat the glass down, “I don’t think either of us knew what was going on. Not until much later.”
“When did you finally figure it out?”
Kate pushed her dark hair from her face, her gaze contemplative, “After Amaru—in Xibalba, actually. We had a little time to talk when we were traveling between worlds. Richie had learned a lot while we were separated.” She paused, a smile forming on her lips, “He had to do a lot of convincing, but what Amaru knew, I knew. And, she knew about bonding. Even though I put it off for a bit, I knew eventually I would have to come to terms with it.”
Lilah felt the question she wanted to ask rise, and she almost tamped it down, but her lesser instincts kicked in, “Do you regret it?”
Kate shook her head, “Richie can be a real asshole, but he loves me. And all the other things that he is, all the things that make up our relationship, they satisfy me in ways I can’t describe.”
And that was exactly how Lilah felt, when she took the time to examine the bond more closely. All the restlessness of her life settled into a soothing, temperate pace when she was with him. Her eager ideas gained focus and precision, her impulsivity checked.
“You’ve given me a lot to think about,” Lilah said as she slumped in her chair.
Kate gave her sympathetic look, “I was trying to help you unload a bit of what you’ve been carrying around.”
To be fair, Lilah did feel lighter. There was still the issue of dealing with Seth and his temper when he found out, but she found that she liked having a secret ally in all of this. It lent her a small bit of safety that she appreciated.
Lilah glanced at her, “Does anyone else know?”
Shaking her head, Kate put her finger to her lips, “Its our secret, for now. But, it’ll come out eventually. Like I said, you can’t hide this kind of thing for long.”
“I know,” Lilah admitted, “Brasa is willing to keep this under wraps for the moment, but I can tell he’s frustrated by it.”
Kate watched her absorb that for a moment, then added, “Pro tip: Sleep with him.”
Lilah said her name in almost a yelp, shocked by the directive.
“I’m not kidding,” Kate said on a laugh, “Sex and blood are cornerstones of their relationships. They’re what bind them together, like it or not. Give him those things, and he’ll settle down enough so that you can figure this out.”
Lilah thought about it, then said the thing that had kept her hiding this secret for longer than she would like, “Seth is going to hate me.”
Kate acknowledged the statement with a salute of her drink, “He might not like it. He might mope around for a few months—hell, he might take off entirely. But, he’ll be back. He just has to have his tantrum first.”
“You think so?”
“I know so.”
“How?”
Kate lifted a shoulder, “He did the same thing with Richie when he was turned. Ran off for a bit. He’ll come around. Once he realizes that being a big baby about it means that you won’t be in his life anymore.” She paused a second, then, “We’re a family, you know? All of us. And, the most important thing to Seth is family.”
“You think so?” Lilah echoed.
Kate smiled warmly, “I know so.”

Me too for being curious about SethnKate prompts idea. I got one for you. Jane the Virgin au...Seth hijacks Kate's pregnancy. Poor Kate winks Seth is pissed till he meets his baby momma haha
Sweet, Sweet Anon… I don’t know if I came up with what you imagined, but @thespianreveur started discussing your prompt and it turned into a 12part RomCom piece. 1st one I’ve ever dared to write so babes, thank you for the challenge :) All the Ice Cream and Horchata for you. It’ll be posted on AO3 as well here.
Seth never planned on any of this: not the sweet little, virgin church girl, who’s got more attitude than people expect; not her moving in with him and his family and certainly not his baby she’s intent on having. He’s going to have to figure out how this woman and his child are going to fit into his life; does he even want them to?
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
AU so no supernatural stuffs. And we get to keep Uncle Eddie :)
Also fair warning Seth is completely the ‘King of Swearing" in this chapter. And Anon - if you read this: Man, I don’t know if this is what you had in mind, but holy crap I really hope you like it.
Prologue: Love is patient; Seth Gecko is not
He was pacing outside of the entrance to the city park trying to remind himself, that he wasn’t actually a suicidal person, he just occasionally did dangerous things, when he was younger. He was however giving some consideration to throwing himself over the bridge and into the oncoming traffic, because that felt pretty fitting for his current situation. He wasn’t supposed to be dealing with this shit. After going to prison and realizing that his life was going to be damn grind until he died, he made a responsible decision. He was fucking responsible! He made a good decision, but the fucking state of goddamn Texas and his bitch of an ex-wife and her friend had circumvented it. This was ridiculous. He didn’t need any of this shit.
.:.
Vanessa Styles was standing on his porch with her hands shoved in her pockets, looking like literal hell. In fact, if she hadn’t picked a fight with Richard immediately, he might have had a civil conversation with her, but she did pick the fight so he wasn’t civil.
“What the hell do you want?” He demanded.
“We need to talk.” She shifted on her feet and that made him nervous, because Vanessa was the picture of confidence even when she was rattled.
Seth ushered her off the porch and into the driveway over by her car, away from his Uncle’s and his brother’s possible eavesdropping. “So talk.”
“There’s no easy way for me to say this.” She bit down on her lip and covered her stomach with her hands.
“You ain’t knocked up and if you are, it ain’t mine. I got snipped remember? I ain’t having no brats.” He folded his arms over his chest. “I got that shit tested too, I’m firing blanks. And the last time we fucked I didn’t even finish inside of you even with the condom on. I’m not stupid enough to…”
“I stole your sperm sample.” She cut him off and explained in a rush, “My friend Sonja’s a nurse at the clinic where you had the procedure done and I remembered that you were required to give a sample before you…anyway, she had it delivered to my office.”
He could feel roar in his ears. He’d never hit a woman before even if she threw the first punch, but the more Vanessa talked the more he was thinking about it.
“…She was supposed to help me after hours…”
“You knocked yourself up with my sperm?!? What the fucking fuck is wrong with you?!? Are you completely mental? Christ you railed for years about Richie being crazy, but this takes the damn cake.” He was yelling loud enough that anyone within a mile radius must have heard him. “I want no part of whatever…”
“I’m not pregnant. I wanted to be; I wanted this for us.” She reached for his arm, but he jerked away from her. “I wanted us to be a family; build something together. But there was a mix-up.” She choked up, but at the moment he couldn’t care less.
“What kind of mix up?” He was starting to calm down, if this was her just telling him that his potential kids wouldn’t be born, he was perfect fine with that. Some people were just too messed up to try and raise kids. Fuck his own father had been one of those people. Even his mother had just up and left one day and if it hadn’t been for Eddie taking him and Richie in…Vanessa didn’t answer, instead she started to fidget with her hands, “It ain’t a cocktail drink, Vanessa. Define mixed up.”
“There was another girl at the clinic at the end of the night and the charts got mixed up, I didn’t even know it was your sample… and I inseminated someone else.”
"What?“ He managed barely above a whisper. He clenched his fists at his sides and reminded himself again, that he didn’t hit women. He didn’t hit women; he wasn’t a wife-beater, even if she was his ex-wife, even if she… “Were you drunk? Are you using again?”
“Seth, that’s not fair. It was an accident.”
“Which fucking part was an accident?!? The part where you plotted with someone else to steal my goddamn sperm and knock yourself up or the part where you inseminated someone else?!?” What is wrong with you?”
“Seth…”
“No, you don’t fucking get to, Seth, me. Richie and me both did four years in prison, ‘cause you left us holding the bag! Eddie almost lost everything, because of it and I ain’t forgiving that. Get the hell off my property.”
“This happened three weeks ago. She called me and she tested positive on a pregnancy test.” Vanessa held out a piece of paper with date, time and address on it in perfectly polished handwriting. “I’m so sorry.”
He snatched the paper away from her. “Off my property. I’m calling a lawyer about this shit. You’re gonna wish to god, that you never met me.”
.:.
He hadn’t said anything to his Uncle or his brother when he came back into the house and for once in their respective lives, they opted to stay the fuck out of his business. He’d thrown himself under his car all night, tweaking and tinkering with the engine to try to distract himself. He’d got about an hour of sleep and when Eddie offered him coffee, he’d spiked it with whiskey before showering and hitting the road. Richie kept sending him texts, asking him if he needed help with whatever Vanessa had come around about. Every response one word to one letter: No, no, k, no, shutup, stop.
He paced by the entrance for the fourth time, he was already ten minutes late from when he was supposed to meet this woman. He’d done the math; he didn’t have a whole lot of extra cash, but he had enough to pay for her to…to deal with it. She didn’t need to go through the mess that his ex-wife had gotten her into. He was so angry, but he knew he needed to calm down. None of this was this lady’s fault: wrong place and wrong fucking time. He glanced up at woman passing by him pushing a stroller with a crying baby, and he felt lightheaded. This was not happening. He was not having a kid, but… This was right off a damn soap opera storyline; this was not how the world worked. He buttoned the top button of his shirt and straighten his tie; should at least look respectable, even if he wasn’t.
He trudged down the path, looking for the gazebo that was on the note. He got closer to it and the only person he could see was a really, young girl sitting on the bench. No… This could not be… Please God, we don’t fucking talk much, but if you could do me this solid…I swear, I won’t steal as much as a dollar for an entire year. She was looking off in the distance, soft brown hair resting on her shoulders, as she sipped from her water bottle, wind rustling her long cotton dress. She must have heard him approaching because she turned to face him and she pure girl-next-door.
He had rehearsed about hundred speeches on the way here, most of which were: calm, reassuring, not threatening and not rude. Unfortunately his mouth got away from him because the first words that he said to her were: not calm, not reassuring, could certainly be thought of as threatening and were unquestionably rude. “Jesus Fucking Christ, are you even fucking legal?”
She dropped the water bottle and jumped off the bench scrambling to her feet, grabbing an object that he identified as pepper-spray.
“Whoa! Whoa!” He put up his hands, “Don’t do that. I’m the guy you’re supposed to be meeting, I think.” The girl’s green eyes were full of uncertainty and he dug her note out of his pocket, holding it out to her. “See? This is you right?”
She kept her finger on the pepper-spray’s trigger, but leaned in a little to scan the not, then his face, before easing her grip on the self-defense device. “I don’t know your name. The doctor…Dr. Styles, she didn’t give… well, she said she couldn’t give it to me, because of confidentiality. I mean which is ridiculous considering…” She motioned to her stomach, before offering her hand to him. “I’m sorry, I’m Kate Fuller, well Kathryn actually, but everyone calls me Kate.”
Her hand was tiny, she tiny, and she was young. Why did she want to have a kid this young? And why hadn’t she done the old fashion way? He realized that he was still holding her hand and he was staring at her, probably scowling based on her reaction to him. “Sorry. I’m Seth, Seth Gecko.” He pulled his hand away and motioned back to the bench, “You wanna sit? This is kinda a lot.”
“Do you mind if we walk? I had to take the bus here; I’d love to stretch my legs.”
He nodded and she picked up her purse, slinging it over her shoulder and they started down the paved path. They walked in silence both sneaking glances at each, both trying to figure out what on earth to say. She sipped from her water bottle and stepped closer to him as a bike sped by them. He touched the small of her back for a half a second, while he switched their positions so he was closer to any oncoming people, bikers, or whatever else was in this park.
“I’ll be twenty next month.” She muttered looking down at her feet, and then up at him, “You kinda asked me if I was an adult before, and I am. I’m nineteen, but I’ll be twenty next month. I’m actually studying to be nurse; I’m in my second year for the four year program, it’s an honor’s program.”
She was apparently a little talky when she was nervous, it would have stuck him as endearing if he wasn’t trying keep himself from freaking the fuck out.
“So you were planning on carrying someone’s kid to pay for college?” He assumed, because that was the only thing he would think of that would explain why a nineteen year-old would volunteer to get knocked up in the least fun way possible.”
“What? No! I went to clinic for a pap smear and a check-up.”
“God she royally fucked up. She had to be high.” When he got done with Vanessa, she was gonna wish she’d never heard the name Gecko.
“Wait, you know Dr. Styles?”
“She’s my ex-wife and she’s soon-to-be an ex-doctor, when I’m through with suing her ass. After I get a lawyer I can have him call you. I’m sure that money would help you with your college fund.” He shoved his hands in his pockets, “You didn’t notice when she…I mean, I’m not trying to get into your business or anything, but I can’t imagine her doing that felt like a normal check-up.”
“I was so nervous about the whole thing; I just closed my eyes and put my earbuds in.” Her cheeks flushed as she admitted. “I just wanted to get on birth control…”
He barked out a laugh without meaning to and apologized, “Sorry Princess, I’m not laughing at you, really. If you knew anything about me, you’d know that I ain’t ever gonna judge someone for wanting to be safe, but still get laid. Before I got snipped, I wouldn’t cum in a woman even if I was wearing a condom. So you wantin’ to be able to have some safe fucking fun in college…”
“Oh my god! Stop!” She interrupted, five-alarm-fire blush all the way to her ears.
He thought she’d been blushing about the fact that she hadn’t been paying attention during her appointment, but based on her reaction he was guessing that he was wrong.
She massaged her temples in slow circles, taking slow breaths, “I went to the clinic to get on birth control, because I have the world’s worst cramps and I’m tired of it. I am not having f’ing fun as you so crassly put it. I don’t even have a boyfriend.”
Oh god, he really stuck his foot in his mouth. He was honestly terrified of where this conversation was going because it almost sounded like, she was a virgin. Surely there was no way that an almost twenty-year-old was still a virgin, not looking like her. Fuck he was a shallow asshole. “Relationships aren’t exactly a pre-req for sex.”
“Listen, just because I’m a virgin that doesn’t make me naïve about things.” She growled, before she continued in firm, but sad voice. “I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to swap bodily fluids with reckless abandonment, and that I was probably going to wait until I was married to have sex. And now I…” Her eyes filled up with tears.
He reached out for her on instinct, he hated when women cried. He was reason too many times. “Look I’m not judging you one way or the other. I’m not trying to be a bastard or anything; this whole thing is just a lot for me to deal with.”
“A lot for you to deal with?” She scoffed, before moving away from him abruptly and started to quickstep up the path.
He grabbed her arm, before she get anymore distance between them and pulled her back closer, spinning her back to face him. “Whoa hey, slow down.”
She turned her head away and threw-up all over the walking path and…his shoes. He managed to grab her hair to keep it out of her face, thankfully. He let her finish coughing and helped her off the path to a bench. “Here sit down.” He made sure she was settled then wiped off his shoes in the grass before plopping down next to her.
“Is that how you figured out about…about it.” He hesitated.
She rinsed out her mouth and spit next to the bench in the most ladylike way she could manage, before nodding. “I don’t get sick very often, so I thought maybe the pills were bad. I went back to the clinic to ask about it and Dr. Styles gave me the pregnancy test. I just didn’t think things liked this actually happened.”
“Yeah you and me both.” He reclined against the back of the bench and glanced at Kate, really giving her a once over. She was pretty, but oh hell she was so young. He felt kinda like a lecher and given the circumstances it was just gonna be awkward around her the entire time. What was the rule here? He didn’t even figure the conversation was going to be this long or really much of anything to be honest. He expected the conversation to go as follows: I’m Seth, sorry my ex-wife is a psychotic drug addict that inadvertently knocked you up when she meant to knock herself up, here’s the money for you to take care of what you clearly didn’t want to happen, and have a nice life. He’d already made an ass out of himself and it would be nice if he could manage the rest of this conversation without making it any worse. Who the hell gets knocked up as a virgin without the actual fun part?
“So why kids?” Her voice cut into his thoughts and she mirrored his posture on the bench, looking into his eyes. He must have jumped, because she clarified, with a comforting tone. “I mean, why did you decide that you wanted to have a child now?”
“I don’t.” He answered honestly.
“Wait what? I’m so confused. If you didn’t want a child then, why…”
“I had a vasectomy when I was twenty-five, right after I got out of prison and the clinic made me give a just-in-case sample. I guess some guys change their minds; I didn’t. Vanessa decided that we were gonna start a family without asking me. So this whole thing is just a big fucking mess.”
“Oh.” She was fiddling with her hands again.
He wasn’t sure what she was ‘oh’ing about, because it could have been the ‘I don’t want kids’ thing, it could be mix-up part, and then of course he just told her that he was an ex-con, so there was that. He might as well get to it and rip the bandage off. Let her off the fucking hook. “You don’t have to.”
Kate arched her eyebrow at him, “I don’t have to what?”
He sighed heavy. Why him and why this nice girl, who never asked for any of this crap. “Have it. You don’t have to have it. It wasn’t your choice and it’s not like you planned on it. I know I sure as hell didn’t.”
She bit her lower lip and turned the little opal ring on her finger as she started nervously, “Um… I don’t think I could not have it. I mean God’s got a plan for every person and…” She trialed off, because he must have been making a hell of a face, he knew his jaw was unhinged. “What?”
“You’re a church girl?” He concluded, although it sounded like a question. Oh he did not like where this was going. How busy was that road? Playing in traffic was starting to sound like a good idea again. She couldn’t be serious. This whole thing was a mistake. You didn’t just have someone else’s child out of guilt. She didn’t even need to feel guilty. Him not having children was not going to be a loss to the world at all. Shit like this just did not happen; this was the plot of a lifetime movie, not real life.
“Preacher’s daughter, actually” Kate informed him.
“Fuck me.”
.:.
“You mind running that by me one more time?” Richie eyebrows were arched as he looked at Seth over his glasses, “You take one too many shots to the head, when you were in the yard, Brother? ‘Cause repeated head trauma can affect a person years after the fact. You’ve got to have some of this wrong.”
“I’ll tell you what he’s got wrong, he’s got his head so far up his ass that forgot to go to fuckin’ work.” Eddie was wiping his hands off on a rag. “Seth, you were supposed to be running the garage today. You can’t leave Justin in charge he’s got more rocks in his head than a quarry.” Eddie looked between his nephews and demanded, “Okay, what’s going on?”
“Seth knocked up a teenager.” Richie volunteered.
“I didn’t knock up a teenager!”
“But she is pregnant and it is yours.”
“Yes, but I didn’t touch her. Hell I never even looked at her until today.”
“Now hold the fucking phone!” Eddie pointed at Seth, “Let me get this straight, your girl’s the reincarnation of Mary of Nazareth, which makes your dumb ass Joseph. ‘Cause that’s the only way it any makes sense for her to be knocked up with your kid without you touching her.”
“She’s…not…my girl.” Seth ground his teeth together.
“That’s not really the important part of this conversation, Boy.”
“His psycho ex, Vanessa, hijacked the sperm sample that he had stored when he got snipped, knocked another girl up with said sperm, and the little Madonna is a preacher’s daughter so she’s hell-bent on having his demon-spawn citing moral reasons.” Richie explained, before looking at his slack jawed Uncle and angry brother. “What; is that not accurate? Oh yeah, I forgot the part where she needs somewhere to live, because she goes a Christian college and they aren’t going to let her stay in the dorms anymore.”
Seth reached for the bottle of whiskey in the freezer and poured three shots, drinking one immediately and refilling it. “Yeah that’s about the long and the short of it.”
“Where’s her family?” Eddie took one shot from his nephew and passed the other to Richie, who slid it back to Seth.
“In some little podunk town in rural Texas about four hours from here, she’s studying to be a nurse.” He took the offered shot and started to pour another, but Eddie stopped him.
“And do they know about this situation?” Eddie pressed, still holding the bottle hostage.
“I don’t know.”
Richie pipped in, “How don’t you know? Weren’t you with her all day? You left the house at ten and it’s almost seven.”
Seth tried to get the bottle back from his Uncle again, “I dropped her back off at her dorm about noon. I needed to think. Can I have that?”
“No.” Eddie roared. “You left her alone?!?”
“Yeah.” Seth didn’t see the problem, he needed time to think about the whole ‘I want to have your kid, even though I don’t know you from Adam’ thing. She hadn’t argued when he dropped her off, she hadn’t been crying or anything, and he gave her his cell phone number, just in case.
“Out of my house until you’ve got that girl with you, you dumbass.” Eddie pointed to the door. “And call a damn taxi, you ain’t driving after drinking. You’ve got a kid to think about.”
“Fuck me.”
