For the top 5 meme - top 5 Gilmore Girls characters, and top 5 Gilmore Girls character dynamics (doesn't have to be shippy). I've just started watching for the first time and would love your thoughts, please and thank you haha 😊

1. Emily & Lorelai. THE dynamic of the show for me. I love complicated mother-daughter relationship, and these two provided me with great content in that regard, season after season and in the revival. Their kitchen fights are unparalleled *-* (btw, what is it with mother-daughter fights and kitchens. Or is that just me and Lorelai. Moving on xD). I love all the Gilmore-Gilmore dynamics, tbh, but Emily and Lorelai are at the core of it for me.

2. Emily & Richard. My One True Ship!! They’re delightful, and I like that they form a steady, older married couple yet still have passionate and interesting conflicts. Have you reached 1x10? They break my heart there :’)

3. Christopher & Rory. Christopher is, objectively speaking, shitty and unreliable. That’s undeniable xD. But his appearances always shook the show’s foundations in very interesting ways. Each of his visits were an emotional rollercoaster; for Rory, for Lorelai, and for me xDD. And his dynamic with Rory in particular (who, IMO, is more like Chris than she -or the fandom- would like to admit), is heartbreaking.

4. Christopher & Lorelai. Similar reasons as above, really. It had IMPACT. And even if they were terrible together, I enjoy seeing Lorelai with someone that actually moved her emotionally lmao, sns. They would be higher on the list, but their s7 storyline was a letdown, meh.

5. Logan & Rory. The only Rory ship that interested me (I was so uninterested in Dean I actually forgot his name. I only remembered because I recently saw a post about how the actor’s GG’s character was a guy named Dean, and his SPN’s character was a guy named Dean’s brother xDD. I initially liked Jess/Rory, but it soured for me pretty quickly). They could be cute, but most importantly, he actually added to Rory’s storyline and made her a more dynamic character. I enjoyed Rory’s interactions with his family too, which added to the ship.

Hey! I don't mind at all, this is actually a very sweet thing to ask

I find all my music on spotify! here's my spotify account if you want to take a look at all my playlists, i got plenty of different vibes and genres etc, all the songs i gave you in the playlist you listened to were from the off balance playlist

as for finding new music, i like to use the spotify reddit to go onto other people’s playlists/profiles and just have a wander, go through people’s followers and followers’ of followers until i find something i find interesting! 

another great way to find music is going to check an artist’s profile and going to the artists’ playlists section, especially with lesser known artists you can expect playlists actually made by them (i follow for example dodie’s playlists that are quite nice and are updated regularly) as well as checking the playlists their songs appear in (i think it’s literally called “appears on”) so you can find one playlist with at least one artist you know you like, go from there and check the profile of the person who made it, their followers’ playlists etc i can waste a good 3 hours doing this on my weekends honestly 

there’s a few other ways to find new music as well:

forgotify.com if you use spotify to give you songs that don’t have a lot of plays on spotify and you might find an unknown gem

rateyourmusic.com with a bunch of lists/ratings that people make around concepts or genres and they tell you why they like the music they like

tumblr has a few accounts that recommend spotify playlists! made by users around concepts generally even though you’ll find a lot of the same music over and over and not a lot of original stuff but you might find something there as well

for the creepy asks meme: gush about your favourite final girl!

SIDNEY PRESCOTT OWNS MY LIFE. 

I don’t even know where to begin because I’ve talked about her at length in several academic papers, but I think what I love most about her is that she comes into the story already traumatized? Which seems like a fucked up thing to say, but like a lot of the final girl trope is based on the idea of innocence and purity and the destruction of that in order to “grow up” and defeat the monster. But Sidney starts the movie already having been through the murder of her mother and finding her mother’s dead body and the whole ordeal of the media and the court case. This puts her in a different space than most Final Girls at the time as her innocence has already been broken, so her ability to survive is more based on the fact that she is more guarded and suspicious. 

Like, let’s not forget that she pegs Billy as the killer fairly early into the movie and would have stuck by that gut instinct had people (mostly Billy) not gaslit her into believe her instincts were wrong about him. Sidney is interesting to me as a Final Girl because she is already set on edge and that follows her throughout the movie. Her arc isn’t about finding her inner strength to survive, it’s simply about survival, which becomes a theme that carries her story through the franchise. Sidney Prescott is a survivor and don’t you ever forget it.

I also just love that she gets to be traumatized and have PTSD, which is facets of her character, not just there for plot’s sake. It’s something she has to deal with and confront on the daily and it shapes her life and controls her actions. Like the newest Halloween movie has a similar thread arc and I really really love it, but Sidney owned the survivalist, closed off, crazy prepared persona earlier and it was interesting to see her... she tries to move on and keeps getting slapped back down, so by Scream 3, she has self-isolated herself. I love the way the franchise allows the audience to see the kind of toll that kind of constant vigilance and continuous survival mode takes on a person.    

Also she has the most iconic lines? NOT IN MY MOVIE. YOU’RE FORGETTING ONE THING ABOUT BILLY LOOMIS--I FUCKING KILLED HIM. DON’T FUCK WITH THE ORIGINAL. 

Basically, I love her.

For the reverse unpopular opinion meme (in hard mode): From Dusk Till Dawn and The Vampire Diaries!

This one shouldn’t be too hard, since I genuinely love both those canons despite some caveats lmfao.

From Dusk Till Dawn

The best thing the show did, IMO, was Kisa’s freedom-and-revenge arc in s1-2 (and her parts were easily the best of s3, imo). I appreciate her arc in all its complexity, its ugliness and its triumph alike.

Another amazing thing the show did was Richie. I really, really didn’t appreciate him (or RichieKisa) enough when I first watched, but I would now. Another show would’ve made him a mere second act to Seth, for one. But he was allowed a natural coldness that I find very interesting.

The show was pretty good when it came to writing unusual, impactful characters in general, and it had a very interesting vampire mythos too.

The Vampire Diaries

I mean, what could I possibly say that I haven’t said already xDD. This show means so much to me. I don’t think any other has or will ever affect me like it did, if only by virtue of its timing (that I started it at a very formative age and followed it from beginning to end).

It gave me Caroline and Klaus, two characters I appreciate more the more tv I watch if I’m honest. How unusual they and their respective arcs were. Caroline’s Rise, Klaus very character (parricidal king of my heart lmfao).

And it got people. It REALLY did. Their uglier, unspoken sides in particular. Better than practically every show I’ve ever watched, I have to say xD (I think Supernatural is the one show that could compete and even surpass it in that area, which is just plain hilarious to me giving... everything, but alas!).
