I know many of you are wondering where I’ve been for the last few days.

I had to go to a mental hospital for about a week. I’m doing better now.

The art is freaking d o n e.

Despite the hiccup of my iPad needing 7 days to back up and the doing it in 4, the final comic update of this arc’s art is DONE. FINISHED. KAPUT.

Jokes aside, I only have dialogue to do which means it’ll be live on patreon within the next few days depending on how classwork + new job training/scheduling goes (I finally got a job after a painful 5-6 months qwp) and the comic update currently in there is freed from its shackles and released to the wild, with this one shortly following. I’m VERY freaking excited because this last comic’s quality destroyed my wrist, but looks incredible,,,,,,,

After these it’s the finale animatic and then some slice of life stuff before the Noe arc cuz I need a break, the Noe arc will be similar quality and…. I need a beat before I tackle this again XD

Anywho I’ve done nothing, but this comic/comms for ages now and I’m looking forward to some artistic freedom ;D!!! Meaning I’m gonna close comms for a bit and instead will put up a wait list. I may return to that front in December or January cuz then I’ll be switching to a new job in April! Anyways very fricking excited, hope this all will be worth the wait \qwp/!

New update 20/09/24

This turned out to be a lot bigger work than I expected lol. But it's done! The whole priest origin is playable 🥳 I also ended up adding a scene that I wanted to do in chapter 2, but I decided it fit a lot better for the priest instead. That scene takes place in the dungeons, and it's... a bit intense.

On that note, I updated the trigger warnings in the beginning of the game, please READ IT.

What's new:

18k words added to the priest origin, so that makes the whole game 169k words total

the entire priest origin is playable, plus you can play the first scene of chapter 2

I added a Codex to the Stats page! I tried to make it brief and on-point. If you are interested, you can read it now :D

added 2 achievements to the priest route. One of them is a very interesting but hidden one. It needs very specific choices to activate, try to find it ;)

updated the trigger warnings

added more people to the Relationships tab in the Stats page

I fixed some bugs on the priest route

lots of grammar/typo fixes

The next step in development will be adding the skeleton of the captain of the guard origin. I'm honestly super excited to start writing it!! It will come out next Friday, with some greyed out choices first.

Where is the Starlight?

currently on a break, family member needed medical attention and treatment due to a stroke. I’m here for 2 weeks tending to them. I promise the Starlight is being worked on, the comic is literally almost done! Just need to wait until I can finish it up. Sorry for the waiting.

Blog Update

Sorry I've been gone for a while— I caught COVID which gave me bronchitis and then an ear infection, and I'm pretty sure I got stuck with long COVID too. I'm now taking some antibiotics which hopefully should help somewhat, but between managing my health and catching up on work, I doubt I'll be able to keep up with this blog. I fully intend to come back once I'm doing better, but until then I'll probably only be posting sporadically and might not respond to tags/messages/asks.

Thanks for bearing with me, and I hope to be back to it soon!

Best Fantasy Book Results!

Congratulations to The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien for winning Best Fantasy Book! Frankly, I don’t think anyone is surprised to hear this.

And shoutout to our runner-up, The Queen’s Thief by Megan Whalen Turner, who put up a great fight considering it was up against a fantasy juggernaut.

Thus concludes the first competition of Best Fantasy Book, and we’re moving on to the fifth Best Childhood Book; preliminary rounds will be posted sometime in the next week!

Important update for the Zevlor sleep stories! Link to tweet

Glen is away on holidays, and we're all quite busy, so the team agreed to a seasonal split to avoid missing weeks like the one that happened recently because we'd run out of recordings. This will give Glen more time to record when he can, and we'll be able to do all of our work for the videos in a timely manner instead of scrambling weekly, and have everything on a planned schedule!

Next week's video will be the last of season 1! Season 2 will launch when we've received every audio file.

Tales of Wocdes: The Silver Protector Demo update 20.9.2024

First new content update has been released!

After some consideration I decided to release the next interlude, taking place the same day MC wakes up in Chapter 1. The new interlude introduces the twins and shows a bit of insight into Lexia. Therefore, there are three POV and I believe it is about 12 k words. Chapter 2 will take some time still. 

I was hesitating with releasing this, as it does not contain active choices, though the Lexia part of the interlude is somewhat affected by the player choices in Chapter 1!  However, since it has been ~one month since the release of the original demo, I thought I should do something nice :D 

I fear I may have broken saved games, trying to figure out why it said “undefined” in every save name. You will probably need to start a new game. You can skip to Chapter 1 from the main menu, but have to replay that one at least.

Other things:

Minor typo and bug fixes to Chapter 1

Fixes missing text due to a coding mistake

Deleted some stat changes accidentally showing in a choice

Some consistency editing

Edits to appearances of MC name choices using the same boxed choice look as everything else instead of just text.
