this is a gentle and loving reminder that when people go on a softblocking spree or a hardblocking spree, it's very rarely something that you've done that led to that. the fact is, most people have school and work to attend to, and juggling hundreds of mutuals as well as work, social life, education and families isn't even on the same LEVEL as easy.

if you've been softblocked by someone during a spring clean, it's really so likely that it's because that person is feeling super overwhelmed at the minute, they probably felt that they weren't being "a good writing partner" to their pre-existing mutuals, and so soft blocking a number of people came to be the best option. there's something so frightening about dealing with a full time job, juggling family problems, coming back to unwind on tumblr and then facing a pile of drafts and a bigger pile of prompts in the inbox.

please, please, PLEASE don't feel like you're a bad person for being soft blocked.

similarly, don't EVER feel like you're a bad person for softblocking people.

times are tough. stress levels have never been as high before. we're all just doing our best, and if we're expected to be stressed and anxious and overwhelmed doing our hobbies, then we really ought to do something about that.

Protecting Yourself from Fetish Mining.

The rise in fetish mining anons has become horrifically rampant over the past year in RPC. Unfortunately, many folks have fallen victim to them due to the nature of fetish miners. The purpose of this PSA is to aid in spotting fetish mining anons within the Tumblr RPC.

Before I continue, please proceed with caution as this topic is adult themed but is a PSA for everyone. I will not go into detail about any fetishes. To learn more about general fetish mining, and what to look out for, check out this detailed PSA by BeckiiCruel, and this PSA about fetish mining within the art community by BluSilurus.

What is Fetish Mining?

Fetish mining, within the Tumblr RPC, is the soliciting of fetish content through Tumblr's inbox via anonymous asks. These asks are sent without the receiver knowing their true purpose and without their informed consent.

People are allowed to have fetishes, but fetish miners thrive off their victims being unassuming and unable to give informed consent. Fetish mining is a nonconsensual fetish and exploits their victims into giving them fetish content.

What to Look For.

Fetish miners within the Tumblr RPC use the anonymous inbox feature to conceal their identity, evade accountability for their actions, and come off as nonthreatening. They'll most likely come off as playful and exploit the fun in receiving anonymous asks within the RPC.

Fetish miners prefer targeting SFW blogs over NSFW ones. Why? Fetish miners want to claim their asks are not of fetishistic nature and to deny the receiver consent. They rely on plausible deniability in order to continue sending asks to their victims.

Please note that anything can be a fetish. Fetish mining asks will appear as innocent as possible to trick unassuming victims into giving them fetish content. They can also be super subtle or extremely obvious. Here are a few behaviors and examples of what to look for:

– Persistent or fixated on the same topic, action, request, or question over an over again. – Pressuring the receiver to answer the ask/s in a playful manner. – Pulling or stomping on a muse's tail, limb, hair, etc. – Putting your muse in a scenario where they're stuck in something. – Transforming your muse into an object, creature, or adding new features. – Cloning a muse repeatedly over several asks. – Feeding a muse over several asks. – Tickling a muse over several asks. – Fixating on muse's underwear, shoes, or other specific garments. – Wanting a scenario of a muse's scent or smell in detail. – Any kind of bathroom talk, including the discussion of diapers, the sender wetting themselves, discussion of any bodily fluid, and so forth. – Giving a muse a kind of potion, magic etc, that will force the muse into their desired effect ( changing their size, making them pregnant, expanding or shrinking certain body parts, laughing fits, the muse becomes lustful, or anything listed above, etc. ). – Super detailed scenarios featuring any of the listed topics that is without any plotting or context. – And much more as anything can be a fetish.

All instances above have been reported in the RPC throughout the years. Here is a Google document with current records given by victims. Please take a look to see real examples of fetish mining. You are free to submit your own instances if you have the victims consent. Instructions on how to do so are in the document.

How to Protect Yourself.

If an ask feels off to you, trust your gut. You do not need to answer every ask that comes into your inbox. If you're still uncertain check with trusted friends, or cross check the Google document listed above. Block any anon that makes you feel off, uneasy, or unsafe. Set your own boundaries, but be warned, fetish miners will not respect them if you leave them unblocked.

If you feel you must answer the ask, take a screenshot, block the anon, and then put the screenshot and your answer in a seperate post. Remember anons must be a member of the tumblr community. Unless they have another account, blocking them will keep you safe from further fetish mining attempts.

If you think someone is being fetish mined please reach out to them and inform them. Victims rarely realize they're nonconsensually playing into someone's fetish. Victims should not be shamed or told they should know better. Stay vigilant and stay safe. Look out for your fellow rper if you see anything that could be fetish mining.

this is a loving reminder that just because your character is set in a specific universe, doesn't mean they have to stay there. likewise, other people's muses might be originally based in a particular world, but that absolutely doesn't mean that they want to keep them in that world. the wonderful part of the rpc is that we actually don't need to take things so seriously! what does it matter if ted lasso woke up in the same universe as tony stark? does it really make any massive issue for us to put shrek and kaz brekker into the same thread? not at all! go wild! don't let the fictional boundaries of fictional franchises stop you from having fun! the purpose of the rpc is to have a good time with one another: we don't need to have a fully fleshed out reason for these characters to interact! we can just throw them together and see what happens! so go forth, have tons of fun, and don't let logic stand in the way of anything on this dash!

hello friends, i hope everyone is doing well-- in light of recent events, i'll be a bit more sparse than usual in terms of activity here. our hospital center is one of, if not the biggest systems in the us southeast and while we don't know what will happen with programs like ivf (which we were forced to stop for a short period when roe v. wade was overturned), gender affirming care, and abortion, we're doing our best to accommodate those who come to our clinics as best we can. i personally have a lot going on working with fronts alongside our young palestinian group as well as the hospital systems but will share every resource that we come across.

for any afab individuals who might find themselves carrying, please please please look into all of your options. our obgyns are legally barred from disclosing abortion clinics and options regarding abortion once someone has disclosed to them that they are pregnant. however, you are within your full right to ask about options IN THE FUTURE IF YOU ARE EVER PREGNANT BUT BEFORE YOU ARE. this means asking at routine checks where you can have them done, what types of abortion are available up to what length of time, SO LONG AS YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY CARRYING. many of our providers are side-stepping repercussions by asking before it is too late, so if you can remember to do so just to have that safety net in the back of your mind, i implore you.

another resource is this spreadsheet here detailing physicians willing to perform tubal sterilizations. no questions about spousal agreement, dissuasion about "regretting it in the future", or any hoops that many doctors present these days. there are physicians in this sheet all across the globe, not just the us so it's a resource to consider for my international friends as well.

Just came to lay down a quick update for a few things. I got results back for my kiddo and it's been confirmed that she has Autism. Not a complete surprise because I've had my suspicions but still overwhelming news for a single mom with a deadbeat father who cut ties and doesn't financially support her. I'm still in a place where I don't have the means to work so that's been a struggle.

I've been thinking about writing again for all of my muses, depending, especially my TADC muses since there's word that episode 3 might be just around the corner! But I've been playing a game in my free time and the season ends in less than a week.

I'm still contemplating things but I really miss writing and all my friends I'd talk to and interact with through writing. 🥺

i wanted to take a quick beat to remind all of you that this time of year can be especially hectic for a LOT of people. schools are back up and running, college has begun, the summer has come to an end and introduced a new routine that many of us will find challenging and possibly overwhelming.

this post is meant to remind you of a few key facts for our self-awareness! including:

you are not a bad person in any capacity for deleting your inbox. i just deleted mine and it had 348 ish in there. you might want to delete yours with fifty. honestly? none of that is something that reflects on your character. you have a real life to tend to, don't be stressing over your prompts, your friends will understand and likely do the exact same thing!

same as above, you're not a bad person for deleting your drafts. listen to me. spring cleaning just happens in september on tumblr. it's okay! you are doing so well! look at you, prioritising your own mental health! super proud of you, have a sticker, don't be losing sleep over this.

spring cleaning might also include going through your followers, now this is IMPORTANT: you are not a bad person for making your mutual count smaller, you are similarly not a bad person if someone removes you from their mutuals via soft or hard blocking. the thing is that 200 mutuals is maybe manageable for some people in the summer, but once you have finals and deadlines in the mix? forget about it. it doesn't mean a single thing beyond "i'm stressed and i feel like that might change if i have less people to write with".

anyway, i love you all, drink some water, eat that snack, be a snack, snacks are amazing and so are you. stop beating yourself up for having limits. nobody is paying you to be here. this is your hobby. imagine if your friend was stressing out over painting? exactly. stop stressing out over tumblr rp. love you all! <3

Hey everyone. I live in GA and my city was hit BAD by the Hurricane Helene. It knocked two trees INTO our house and a few others onto it as well. We have holes through our roof/ceilings in multiple rooms and no power. But everyone is okay. All the cats are okay. I’m okay. Or as okay as you can be when something like this happens.

So I won’t really be around for a while because I am dealing with no power, a loss of most of my house, and several other things. I have to go back to work on Monday which is so stupid.

Basically everything is VERY slow going. We had someone take the trees off the house on Saturday, we got tarped up yesterday, and our adjuster from insurance won’t be here until the 16th currently so we can’t do anything until then :/

I’ll try and update you all when possible but currently I am sitting in my grocery store’s cafe area typing this.

what force-shipping is NOT:

asking your writing partners if they'd like to plot a romantic ship with you.

listen. forcing a ship is a conscious effort. if you're not able to respect your writing partners' decisions and choices when it comes to literal role play, then you need to step back and re-evaluate until you're able to do so.

BUT. you are NEVER forcing a ship simply by asking someone if they'd be interesting in shipping with you. it might be scary to ask. but once you respect their rules and boundaries, you're fine! there's never any harm in asking! just make sure you respect and honour their response, regardless of whether they say "yes", "no", or "maybe once we test their chemistry".

i have to be honest, y'all. this site has done a giant number on my mental health and i think that being gone has shown me that it's actually just really bad for me. i've got a lot going on and every time i'm here it only makes my mental health worse, so i think the best decision that i can make for myself is to step away completely.

i don't know if this is a permanent goodbye. i hope that it's not, because rping on this site has been a giant part of my life for years and i genuinely want to be here, but at the same time, i can't take care of myself if i am.

if you want to keep up with my writing, i decided that i'll be posting ( mostly daryl-centric / twd-centric ) fanfics on ao3. i'll also be posting on a sideblog here, but it'll just be somewhere to dump my daryl / twd edits and i won't be actively engaged or checking notifs very often.

i sincerely appreciate everyone here and i love the things we've been able to create together. this community is full of wonderful writers and amazing people, and it's been a great privilege to meet and write with y'all. genuinely, thank you for the love you've always given to daryl and i on this blog. i cannot express enough how it truly means the world. ♡
