What happened to all people, not just Jews. So I wanted to say thanks to all the people who survived through this. And they shared this terrible story with us. Another day I am speechless and can’t seem to find the right words to express the sharp pain, deep gratitude, and unbelievable desparation and many other mixed emotions I feel when the siren goes off- and each day somewhere in the back dark corners of my subconscious. today I admit, together with millions that yes we can live as a free people here and it comes with a heavy price. I listen to עוד אח אחד (one more brother) on repeat.. which each time I hear the words, surfaces another layer.. and I notice the tears of desparation and thankfulness finding a minute to let themselves be seen.. (there is an english translation below..)

הימים האלה שבהם צריך לזכור

טקס ועוד טקס ועוד אחד טקס אחד הראשון ברשימה מוקדש לזכר אותם שישה מיליון שחייהם נלקחו בידי הנאצים הטקס השני מוקדש לכל החיילים והאזרחים אשר נפלו ונהרגו במערכות ישראל ובשלישי… הטקס השלישי נכנס מיד כשהשני יוצא טקס יום העצמאות והוא מוקדש להקמת המדינה מעין יומהולדת כזאת אפשר לומר… עכשיו כשלפנינו הטקס השני ברשימה והבטן מתחילה להתהפך שוב, אנחנו נזכרים באנשים שהיכרנו ולא איתנו…חבר,קרוב או שכן. הפנים,הסיפורים, הקברים,התמונות והדמעות. לא צריך יום אחד כדי לזכור אני בטוחה שמי שאהובו הלך… לא עובר יום בלי הזיכרון.. שמי שאיבד לא צריך יום או יומים בשנה כדי לזכור ועדיין זה חשוב ועדיין משהו ביום הזה הוא שונה. אנחנו עוצרים את השגרה כדי לחלוק כבוד, זיכרון. להעריך. אנחנו עוצרים את הכל, כפי שלהם נעצרו החיים, אבל לנו יש את האפשרות להמשיך ובן רגע השירים ברדיו מתחלפים מ"שיר הרעות" או “מי שחלם” ל"רק בישראל" ו “הדגל שלי הוא כחול ולבן” אנחנו עם שידע,יודע וידע עצב ובבד בבד עם שהשמחה לא נסה מפניו. עצובים וכואבים. פוקדים את הקברים ואת במות המופעים. מזילים דמעה מול תמונה של נער מחייך לבוש מדי זית עם כומתה וצוחקים מול הטלוויזיה בסצנה ההיא מצ'ארלי וחצי. זאת המציאות שלנו ואין לנו ברירה כי אין לנו ארץ אחרת… שעה שעה ויום יום שמחה מהולה בעצב. יום הולדת שמח מדינה יקרה! אין מילים בפי להביע את אהבתי הרבה.
