Don't reblog this post, I don't want it being spread around!
// Just rating Aldebaran's designs
Explanation below
S: Hades arc + Soul of Gold. My brain just imprinted and decided, this is him. In general, Aldebaran's design is cool bc I feel like it really pushed Kurumada to get creative with his design and he stands out from the others as a result. IMO, this is the best mix from his manga's looks, with the one from the anime. A: In general, I'm really indifferent towards the 3D reboot that Netflix started out and Crunchyroll is doing. But I'll give it that: for the 2nd volume, they did a good job adapting their designs from 2D to 3D. It just happens that ATP, I prefer him with long hair. Same thing, for his brief appearance like that in the classic anime. B: I have a love and hate relationship with Legend of Sanctuary's designs, all of them tbh. I feel like most of them are unnecessarily convoluted, with way too much going on. And Aldebaran's glow up is like... Way too funny for me. Props for the team, wanting to shyly acknowledge his nationality tho (the armor has green, yellow and blue details). His face IS really nice, I loved the nose piercing. But everything else is too much. Some times I like this design, other times I find it way too silly looking. C: G's incarnation was like really close to hitting the bottom If it weren't for the fact that this is like the only incarnation that's the most consistent With his skin color... Even if the art style spectacularly fails him. Unfortunately, it is still heavily influenced by his manga incarnation. D: Classic manga's design are a trainwreck, more news at 11. I'll chalk it up to the chance that when Kurumada created Aldebaran's design, he hadn't thought entirely through his character. I don't think he originally was meant to be Brazilian, BUT ALAS. I'm not saying there aren't fair skinned and blond haired Brazilians, but they are mainly reserved to an entirely different part of the country. It's not a common sight in most regions here, and that usually implies a different kind of mixing. As such, I tend to prefer his incarnations, that give him darker hair colors.

i’m just…. remembering ep g assassin……and thinking about how okada made yoshino to have aldebaran and shaina as her parents…and they looked so cute as a family… i have feelings okay? i hadn’t considered it before ep g assassin… but they would have some real good dynamics???? like, listen to yoshino talking about her parents “it’s a good thing that my mom is out taking care of something! she can be downright terrifying no joke! my dad is very kind, so you’re better off if you start by making him an ally.”
imagine yoshino’s childhood and her wondering why her parents didn’t hug, or kiss, or say ‘i love you’ like the parents of her friends would, and somehow, when she grew older, she began to see some of these things. like shaina worrying when aldebaran got too hurt in one of his missions, or aldebaran offering to give shaina massagges when she was too stressed from work… and one day, they just told yoshino they would be going for a short trip to celebrate their honeymoon. yoshino wonders why they hadn’t done this before, but she’s just generally happy they’re happy together.
#i wanna write this#and because i'm the epithome of self-indulgent#i'll write this rn#and publish it on my birthday#because it's also aldebaran's birthday#aaaaaaahhhhhh#headcannons#that probably are cannon#saint seiya#taurus aldebaran#ophiuchus shaina#hino yoshino#saint seiya episode g: assassin#save for later#otp: i ended up not being alone along the way

The Pleiades, an open star cluster in the shoulder of the constellation Taurus, is known to the kilo hōkū, the Hawaiian astronomer, by several names: Ka Huihui a Makali`i (The cluster of Makali`i), Huihui kōkō a Makali`i Kau i Luna (The Net Cluster of Makali`i Hung Above), Nā Kā a Makali`i (The Bailer of Makali`i), Nā kōkō a Makali`i (The Net of Makali`i), Nā Wahine a Makali`i (The Wives of Makali`i), Ke Aweawe Makali`i (The Makali`i Stars Stuck Together), Ka Lālani a Makali`i (The Makali`i Line), Huihui (Cluster, Group), and Kūpuku (Clustered).
In some traditions, the Pleiades is also called Makali`i, but there are also traditions which give that name to Aldebaran. What does such an abundance of names tell us? First, it tells us that the star, planet, or group of stars is very important to a lot of people. The Pleiades is important to the traveler as a navigational feature. The variety of names indicates, I believe, the altitude and angle of the cluster, critical information to a navigator.
One translation for Makali`i is “Eyes of the Chief,” and that was the name of the head navigator of Hawai`iloa, a great voyaging chief. If we look at the cluster when it is first rising above the horizon, it could look a bit like a woman standing upright. Or, perhaps it is a group of women, Nā Wahine a Makali`i. In either case, soon the sail of the husband’s canoe comes into sight, and Makali`i (Aldebaran), the navigator, sails into view. What better reason to journey forth than to find a wife? As the cluster rises overhead, the stars begin to look like a bailer, an important commodity, indeed, for those who spend their lives on the sea. In fact, a number of Polynesian legends center on magical women who take the form of a beautifully carved bailer floating in the ocean. Caught and courted by the right man, the bailer becomes a beautiful woman who agrees to marry him. And so the Makali`i line continues down to the sea. Makali`i and his wives rise a bit north of due east, and pass directly overhead on their way to the sea, where they will set to the south of due west.
For the traditional farmer, on the Island of Hawai`i, the November 17 rising of the Pleiades marks the approximate start of the rainy season. Makali`i was not only a great navigator and steersman, but also an agronomist, an expert farmer. Indeed, we find that around the world, the Pleides is associated with farming. In Hawai`i, the evening rising of those stars is associated with the return of the all-important rainy season.
Other chiefs also have had the name “Makali`i. Among them is the father of Kamapua`a, the pig demi-god, also associated with rain and fertility. At the other end of the spectrum is a greedy Chief Makali`i, who figures in a story from the Kona coast of Hawai`i Island. In this story, Makali`i is translated as “tiny eyes,” a euphamism for “greedy,” and refers to a greedy chief who taxed the people into poverty during a drought. In this story, `Iole, the Hawaiian rat, saved the people from starvation by chewing through Huihui kōkō a Makali`i Kau i Luna. The net burst open, and all the food which the evil Chief Makali`i had placed in it fell back to earth.
Hidden within this story may be a record of the extreme El Nino conditions of 1640. But whatever historical events may be encoded into the story, for myself, when the net hangs over the western sea, I enjoy thinking of Aldeberan as the right ear of `Iole, ε Tauri as his left ear, θ1 and δ his eyes, and γ Tauri his pointy little nose. His body is to my left, and Orion’s bow makes his tail. If I look closely at the Pleiades, which `Iole also is eyeing, I see where our heroic little rat bit through the net so the food could fall to earth and feed all the people there.

Iris’ SDCC Diary - 03.05
I have decided in the interest of science to keep an ongoing list of my bumps, bruises, sprains, spills, and breakages. Thus I have developed a clumsification scale so that each incident can be properly measured on the approximate pain I feel at the time:
Ouch.
Just Give Me a Minute...
Oh, Hera, That Hurt!
Medic!
Don't Go Into the Light.
My hope is that I will eventually reach a point wherein the midst of an "incident," I can just shout out a number and thus save my breath for holding against the agony. I had the chance to practice using my new scale tonight as I tried to navigate my way through the house on crutches. I called out a series of "1's" while I bumped my way down the hall from my bedroom to the kitchen. When I got there, dad asked if I was all right, and I told him I was just trying out my new scale. "Oh, good," he said, "I was afraid you'd finally gone binary on us." I told him that if I didn't think I would spend the next 15 minutes on the floor yelling "Four!" I would hit him with one of my crutches. He laughed, kissed me on the top of my head, and slid open the door to the back porch. He closed the door behind me and flicked on the trail of dim blue-green lights that outlined the path to the "observatory" he built for me.
My dad is the kind of monster that keeps his eye more on the earth beneath his feet than on the stars above his head, but he is an amazing engineer, and he built my observatory with a roof that opens, and the whole thing rotates 360°, so my telescope never has to move. He's not much of a "tell you that he loves you" kind of monster, but he shows it all the time. Tonight I rotated my observatory so that I could see a star called Aldebaran. It's an orange giant and forms one of the eyes in the constellation Taurus-the bull. As I was focusing in, two meteors crashed into each other sending glowing fragments across the night sky like fireworks. If I were the kind of ghoul that looked for omens, I might think this was a sign. Hah! As if...

Whelp, I said I was gonna explain this and I’m not one to go back on my word... So, uh, remember what I said on that Gold Saint and Disney Heroines post that I was gonna explain why I choose the way I did? Yeah, the time has come for that to happen so, brace yourselves.
Libra Dohko & Fa Mulan
Ok, this will be simple... Now both Dohko and Mulan share obvious similarities; Both are Chinese, kick ass warriors and are willing to put themselves on the line in order to protect what’s right. Now if one were to create a Saint Seiya/Disney crossover, I wouldn’t say that their relationship would be romantic in any way; More like a sort of master/student thing where like Dohko is like a grandfather type of figure to Mulan. Also I love the idea of her becoming a sort of big sister figure to Shiryu and Shunrei; Oh and also I think Dohko would like someone who fucking saved all of China!
Taurus Aldebaran & Belle
Another easy one here... So Belle is someone who is kind as she is smart and is willing to date a man no matter what he looks like; Enter Alde! Now, I bet Alde and Belle would get along because she’s kind and smart while he’s basically a gentle giant who would absolutely treat her like a lady the first time they would meet. If a crossover was inbound, I think they would give off married couple vibes despite probably being too bashful to ask each other on a date for a bit; I also think Alde would get along well with her father, wouldn’t you?
Capricorn Shura & Kida
Ok, now were heading into difficult territory now... Now I have many reasons as to why I paired them together; Kida is a kick ass warrior princess who is skilled when it comes to combat and was so willing to protect her home that she would kill outsiders on sight, so I doubt Shura ain’t going to find that attractive or at least impressive. She also, despite being a bit aggro at times, is also a deeply caring woman who would be willing to put her life on the line in order to protect what she cares about. I also think in a crossover that some of their interactions would be absolutely hilarious because she’s very much a feisty woman with a sense of humor while Shura tends to try and remain serious but ends up either getting teased into a blushing mess or flustered and confused after getting involved in one of her funny yet daring antics. Plus they’d be a kick ass pair, just saying.
Aquarius Camus & Elsa
Do I seriously have to explain this one? Alright, with the knowledge of obvious similarities that we all should know about at this point, Camus and Elsa would be interesting in terms of character development. I mean, in crossover time I think both of them would develop more after spending time together; Elsa would learn not to let the mistakes of her past control her future and thus fully controlling her powers, and Camus would learn that emotions can also be a great strength for him as an Ice Saint, and that it’s ok for him and others like him to express their emotions openly at times. I’m not saying he’s not going to be all stoic and serious after Elsa comes in, just that he’ll be more open at times with his feelings; Also love the thought them both becoming foster parents to both Hyoga and Isaac, like seriously.
Gemini Saga & Cinderella
Oh dear lord these two, I just can’t. Now, Saga is a strong capable man who is also deeply caring and sweet, so he definitely like a woman like Ella. Now Cindy, despite the hellhole she had to live in, was just as kind hearted and self loving as she was strong-willed and independent. Now in a crossover, being the absolute angel that he is, once he would find out about Ella’s horrible family life, there is not a doubt in my mind that he wouldn’t convince her into coming with him to Sanctuary so she would get away from her horrible stepfamily. He then teach her how to be a saint well also encouraging her to remain strong yet kind to herself and others. Cindy would also encourage him to care and love for himself and would probably help him improve his relationship with his brother. They’d be looking out and supporting each other, oh and they’d also be cute together as well.
Kanon & Aurora
These two would also be something interesting. Now, to see Kanon with Aurora would be like Former Bad Boy & Sweet Independent Girl with a bit of troublemaking and a pinch of romance to boot. Kanon would totally get Aurora into all sorts of funny mischief while also having some more softer moments as well like strolling with her. I like to think that in a crossover, she doesn’t meet Phillip in person at all, so when she’s told that she’s of royal blood and has to marry some stranger, she manages to sneak out and run straight to Kanon and practically begs him to take her to Sanctuary so that she doesn’t have to be married off to someone she hardly knows. Kanon would definitely be both surprised and concerned about the whole ordeal but would agree to take her in to Sanctuary anyway because arranged marriages aren’t cool. I think they make a sweet couple and that them interacting would totally be interesting.
Cancer Deathmask & Rapunzel
Now this... So Deathmask is usually associated with, you know, the dead and stuff, meanwhile Rapunzel has healing powers that can make anyone look young again and heal any wound, thus making her symbolize life. So being sort of opposites, I also think Deathmask will like her free-spirited personality and would most likely be surprised by how willing she is to fight someone with just a frying pan alone. A crossover where Rapunzel escapes the tower by herself and ends up running into Deathmask, thus becoming a sort of dynamic duo, would be great and could also be a good opportunity to explore more of Deathmask’s character through friendship first rather than a love interest. Also the idea of them being best buddies first before slowly becoming attracted to each other is a splendid idea to me.
Pisces Aphrodite & Ariel
Ok... Other than the fact I paired the fish boy with a mermaid, can you imagine Aphrodite interacting with her? It would probably be hilarious and cute at the same time. I can definitely see him teaching Ariel everyday human life in order for her to even function in human society. If there was a crossover, he would probably know right away that she wasn’t a human but still helps her learn more about the world while also teaching her things that’ll help her like self defense. Also would think they’d be a cute and funny couple.
Dear Lord this is so long! Well, at least I got the first part of this posted. I probably could have explain my reasons better than the way I did but I’ve already given this post like half of my weird thought process already so... Well, I’m gonna go an rest my brain now, until the next post.

What is the mun's opinion of all the gold saints from TLC?
♚— Oh boi. This is gonna be a mouthful. I know you said "all" , but I can't do saints like Avenir and Sage since I haven't read Shion and the Old Twins' gaiden in English. And I'm not about to act like I know Spanish enough to write a review on those saints.
♚ Aries Shion - Should've been the Hades Arc Shion. Like damn, I really like Shion when he's an angry sheep!! I mean, he yeets the five bronzies in Hades Arc like "Fuck dem kids!".
I really like Specter/Pope Shion. But TLC Shion I do not hate. In fact, I can understand how and why he becomes Pope. I really like TLC Aries Shion! I just wished he was more angry sheep, but TLC Shion is not bad. I especially loved his Gaiden, at least the part where Avenir was shown. I feel like they should have explained more on his thoughts on becoming pope or exploring him having some sort of survivor's guilt but hey. I don't dislike him!
♚ Taurus Aldebaran/Hasgard/Rasgado - Honestly, the only thing I can say about Hasgard is that... I don't hate him. I love his English Voice actor (because I'm a really big fan of Jamieson Price since Tales of Vesperia), but for Hasgard himself... I don't really have an opinion or thought on. His teenage years with Sisyphus and Aspros seemed fun, and I'm kinda... hm... sad that their relationship mellowed out? Or at least, we didn't get his and Sisyphus' opinions or reactions to Aspros' death.
♚ Gemini Defteros & Aspros - OH BOY WHERE DO I START!? ----- Gemini Aspros - I understand why Aspros was the way he was towards everyone and his brother. It's honestly not his fault. I am happy that he doesn't have a "split personality" at all throughout TLC, even though that is something I would never diss Saga for (even if it wasn't really a split personality). He was simply manipulated into behaving cruelly because someone showed him something that he was scared of, and that was akin to his brother not needing him. His Gaiden harks back to that too, during that 'flashback' when he told Defteros that he was going to become pope, Defteros donned the gold cloth and said 'yeah so we can be equals and I won't need you' (paraphrasing). If Aspros is just going to be used and tossed away, might as well harden his own heart before then. And it doesn't help that he saw himself as a Specter and his brother as a Gold Saint when he went to the oracles.
I feel for Aspros because, in the end, he had no idea that he had been manipulated hard enough that his goodest boy personality changed. And honestly, I can relate to that. I've had my personality take a deep dive some years ago after I had a panic attack. So I don't fault him for his actions. He was just trying to make the best with what he knew, understood, and could do, even if that meant doing terrible things. After all, it is his mindset that the weakest people are the ones that don't do anything. ----- Gemini Defteros - I also can't fault him for anything. He was dependent on his brother, and there was no way he could understand what was going on in Aspros' tortured mind since Aspros never spoke about his feelings. But I believe that, contrary to what Aspros thinks, Defteros would have been very dependent on him even after Aspros became pope. After all, he didn't have friends, lacked social skills, and couldn't find it in himself to trust anyone aside from his older brother because of how Sanctuary treated him as they were growing up, so he would have been stuck in like a childish headspace of needing a protector and provider, which was Aspros. You can tell that much because he was asking Asmita what should he do when he was possessed by the DEF.
When Aspros died (or rather, when Defteros killed him [which seriously broke his heart]), it forced Defteros to grow up and look after himself. This isn't a terrible thing--but it was a terrible and such a trauma-inducing way to go about it. But how he died--or rather, the fact that he wanted to sacrifice himself to save his brother... honestly it still makes me cry a lot. You can see in his eyes that he loved his brother even after the very end, and wanted him back. And just IMAGINE how many times Defteros' eyes have shown nothing but the purest love for Aspros, and how Aspros had been manipulated to see those eyes as nothing more than hate. ----- Gemini twins in general - If it wasn't obvious already, I love these two so much. I hate--I ABSOLUTELY HATE--that their brotherhood was RUINED, because these two are so... important to me. I see myself and my sister in the Gemini Twins so much. To the point where it's so personal to me. Even after being manipulated and losing his brother, Aspros still held his little brother very close to his heart and lamented and regretted the fact that he will never get the chance to be the brother he should be. And Defteros... I can't explain why his loyalty and patience for Aspros affect me so much, but it does. It does in a way where it hits me more than just an emotional way. I guess that's because I see my sister in Defteros much more than I should.
I love the twins in such a profound way where I cannot find the right words for it. They obviously still love each other so much, even after all is said and done, and I think that is so important. Having that kind of unconditional love for your sibling is the most important thing in my opinion.
God, look at me, I'm crying over the Gemini twins again for like the 100th time oiwhfowef
♚ Cancer Manigoldo - So, Manigoldo... Honestly, I love him, too. But in a different way. When I see Manigoldo, I remember the private threads that a friend and I used to do on Skype, and I am frankly very enamored with him. But also because of that, I do not see him the same way as everyone else too. Besides, he makes up the second half of my OTP, so ofc I'm going to see him differently. Especially since I single ship!
♚ Leo Regulus - He's another one that I like a lot! Not only because he's adorable, but I also see him in a different way because I'm a single shipper, and I will never say aloud who I ship Regulus with. I won't say that he's a part of a different OTP (since I only have one OTP in all of Saint Seiya) but I do like Regulus a lot because of a friend's interpretation of him in Private threads a very long time ago.
Yeah, he might be kinda OP/Gary Sue, but he's not too hateful in my opinion. I wouldn't say he's the best TLC Saint, since my heart is stolen by the twins, but he's a very amiable character when interacting with the characters of the TLC verse, and I wish I can squish his cheeks one day!! He's so adorable! I will say though that he is impressive to replicate a Big Bang(?) by himself... I don't remember if it's the thing that really killed him, but... huh. To be that unafraid of death, I wouldn't be surprised if he has some sort of mental/personality disorder that made him... like that? Something undiagnosed? Hm... thoughts, thoughts.
♚ Virgo Asmita - Asmita is one of the gold saints that, I honestly, don't know about. It's different from how I feel about Hasgard. For Hasgard, I don't have an opinion for, but for Asmita, I just don't know. I love how Teshirogi drew his hands. Like damn, bruh, can we switch hands? We're both Virgo, and I think we can make it work out... /kicked
♚ Libra Dohko - LOL DOHKOOOO!! My sister's favorite. I feel like he's super impulsive in TLC. I haven't read his gaiden at all, so I can't say much about that, but I do like him! Like with Shion though, I feel like he should have had some sort of heavy Survivor's guilt in the end. I'm also insanely curious about what ability Defteros zonked on him to erase the memory of Athena's blood and cloth. I don't know if it's shown in Dohko's gaiden, but I would love to see how TLC Dohko came across and raised Shiryu.
♚ Scorpio Kardia - As a character, I adore him. He's charming, spontaneous, and, like Aspros, wants to live his life to the fullest. And his fullest means just having fun before his short life is ended. Krest might have made him practically immortal, but he's still suffering. However, Kardia also holds a lot of bad memories for me from days before, and his entire character serves as a painful, but a graceful reminder of who I was back then.
♚ Sagittarius Sisyphus - Honestly, I don't ever think he was qualified to be a candidate for the papal throne. He's so melodramatic. Yeah, he might treat everyone with kindness and all, but I feel like he doesn't have the knowledge part down. Let alone, he's a brawn brain! Bruh!! Shooting an arrow at "hades" is always a bad idea!! What made you-?!
Lmfao, if possible, I feel like he and Aspros should have dual-pope'd Sanctuary. One has the brains, but lacks compassion while the other has the compassion but is "shoot first, ask questions and think about that later".
♚ Capricorn El Cid - I... should love El Cid, but my mind goes blank a lot around him. He's impressive, I give you that, but I don't think I have an opinion on him. And I've read his gaiden in Spanish a LONG time ago, so I'm not going to pretend that I know him enough to talk about him.
♚ Aquarius Degel - hm... I think he's cute. Especially in his gaiden, he's really cute.
♚ Pieces Agatha -
#anoymous#OutofGeminga#As you can tell I word vomited about the gemini twins#also that last one is intentional. You will not get anything more or less.

Iris Clops SDCC 2014 Exclusive Diary
02.28
I went to the casketball game tonight. It was the district championship game, and if we won it would mean a trip to the monster state tournament. The game was against the same gargoyle team that beat us last year. The game tonight was really close with several lead changes, the gym was totes rocking. I was there to cheer for the whole team, of course, but I was also hoping that Manny would have a better game than he did last year. I know he felt responsible for us losing last year, even though I know that the team didn’t blame him for it. Manny is... well, I’m not sure what Manny is. When he first came to Monster High he acted like a real bully, and most students tried to avoid him at all costs. Something must have happened after that game last year though, because he seems like a different monster since then. Anyway, this year there was a much happier outcome - both for Manny and the team - because not only did we win, but Manny made the winning shot! Adding to the excitement - more or less - okay, less, was my epic fail or rather fall down the bleachers. Typical me, I wasn’t watching where I was going and I stepped where there wasn’t one and badly twisted my ankle. Wow, did that ever hurt! The team athletic trainer, Mr. Mummy, saw what happened and came over to check on me. He had some of the ghouls help me to the training room where he examined my ankle, pronounced it sprained and then did a pretty thorough wrap job on it. He gave me some crutches, then called my parents to let them know what had happened. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the bit victory party after the game, which was a drag because I heard that Manny asked where I was at.
03.05
I have decided in the interest of science to keep an ongoing list of my bumps, bruises, sprains, spills and breakages. Thus I have developed a clumsification scale so that each incident can be properly measured based on the approximate pain I feel at the time:
Ouch.
Just Give Me a Minute...
Oh, Hera, That Hurt!
Medic!
Don’t go into the light.
My hope is that I will eventually reach a point where in the midst of an “incident” I can just shout out a number and thus save my breath for holding against the agony. I had the chance to practice using my new scale tonight as I tried to navigate my way through the house on crutches. I called out a series of “1′s” while I bumped my way down the hall from my bedroom to the kitchen. When I got there, dad asked if I was all right, and I told him I was just trying out my new scale. “Oh, good,” he said, “I was afraid you’d finally gone binary on us.” I told him that if I didn’t think I would spend the next 15 minutes on the floor yelling “Four!” I would hit him with one of my crutches. He laughed, kissed me on the top of head and slid open the door to the back porch. He closed the door behind me and flicked on the trail of dim blue-green lights that outlined the path to the “observatory” he built for me. My dad is the kind of monster that keeps his eye more to the earth beneath his feet than to the stars above his head, but he is an amazing engineer and he built my observatory with a roof that opens and the whole thing rotates 360° so my telescope never has to move. He’s not much of a “tell you that he loves you” kind of monster, but he shows it all the time. Tonight I rotated my observatory so that I could see a star called Aldebaran. It’s an orange giant and forms one of the eyes in the constellation Taurus - the bull. As I was focusing in, two meteors crashed into each other sending glowing fragments across the night sky like fireworks. If I were the kind of ghoul that looked for omens I might think this was a sign. Hah! As if...
03.06
I was standing at my locker today, and Manny walked right by me without even acknowledging I was there. Maybe I should expand my scale to cover bumps and bruises of the heart as well. If so, today was a definite 2.
03.07
Gigi came over tonight to do some stargazing. She’s so scary sweet and just so excited to experience every little detail of unilfe outside the lantern that she’s a scream to be around. We looked at the rings of Saturn, Mars and Alpha Centaur, and then a storm moved in, and we couldn’t see anything through the cloud cover. So we sat and talked about different things. I jokingly asked her if she had any wishes left, because I was really wishing I could know what was going on inside Manny’s head. She laughed and said that sometimes wishing is more satisfying than actually having the thing for which you have wished. She says it doesn’t sound logical, but it often is true. I’m not sure I understand, but she has a lot more experience seeing the power of wishes granted than I have, so I suppose I’ll just have to trust her on this.
03.09
Today in the creepateria I was sitting at a table with Draculaura, Clawd, Abbey and Heath. Manny walked by our table with his lunch, and Heath invited him to sit with us. The only open seat was across from me, and I swear it looked as if Manny started blushing. I think he was going to say, “No”, but he ended up sitting down anyway. We were right in the middle of a conversation about a comet that only passes by earth close enough to see once every 500 years or so, and Draculaura has seen it the last two times it appeared. She was telling us how some monsters thought it was an omen of doom the last time it passed and they literally went screaming for the catacombs. We were all laughing, and I suggested we have a comet party at my house the next time it shows up. That’s when Manny said, “Who cares about stars and planets and comets and stuff like that? It’s just a dumb waste of time looking at places you can never go to anyhow.” It took me completely by surprise, and I said, “It’s only dumb if you’ve got so much muscle in your brain there’s no room for imagination.” I don’t think I could have been more hurt if he had called me an eyesore. I asked Draculaura if she would take my tray for me, and I grabbed my crutches, hobbled out of the creepateria and straight into the ghoul’s restroom. As I was sitting in a stall crying my eye out, there was a knock on the stall door. “Go away,” I said. “Is Abbey - I punched Manny in nose for you.” I jumped up and opened the door. “You did what?” I yelled. “Relax, I am only doing the teasing.” I was torn between being angry and continuing my number “4″ sized cry. Abbey told me that Manny was like her brother. “He is big like Manny and is having same problem telling Yeti ghoul how he is feeling - so he makes the large snowballs to throw at ghoul he likes. Manny does not have snowball so he throws words.” I told her that I thought it was the dumbest way possible to let a ghoul know that she is liked. Abbey nodded, “Agreed, snowballs are much better as sting is going away sooner.” I think she is right. This “4″ doesn’t act like it’s about to slide down to a three anytime soon, and I guess Gigi was right about not wishing to know what’s in another monster’s head.
03.10
This morning when I opened my locker there was a small, folded up piece of paper wedged in one of the vent slots. It was folded so tightly, I though some monster must have wrapped up a piece of gum and shoved it through my locker because he couldn’t find a trash can. I almost threw it away but I unfolded it instead. Inside in carefully printed block letters was the message,
I’m sorry.
M.T.
I looked around to see if some monster might have done this as a prank, but everything looked normal, or at least as normal as it ever looks at that time of morning with monsters scurrying around trying to get to class on time. In terms of medicine, it certainly took the sting out of my “4″, and if it didn’t take it all away at least it moved it down to a “1″.
03.12
I’m not sure if it will be possible to put what happened today into words, but I think I have to try. We had a special assembly in the creepatorium that every monster was required to attend. The speaker was a famous centaur explorer/biteologist who was going to talk about his travels and adventures. It sounded pretty exciting when Headmistress Bloodgood was making the announcement over the intercom, and by the time I was able to hobble in, all the seats were taken except one in the very middle of a top middle row. I looked around for Manny and saw him several rows about me sitting with Heath. I managed to get to my seat without doing too much damage to either myself or any other monster, but I had to leave my crutches leaning against the wall, since there was no way I could make it down the aisle holding onto them. As it turned out, the speaker was a bit of a blowhard, and after 30 minutes of telling the assembly how great he was, most of us were figuring out this wasn’t going to be as exciting as we were lead to believe. That’s when he brought out the chimera. Although our speaker assured us that he had tamed it, our biteology textbook said that it was impossible to do so. I guess every other monster in the creepatorium had read the same book, because they all started shifting in their seats and looking for the closest exit. The speaker asked for calm and told us the creature was as harmless as a kitten. Not a beat after he said this, the chimera breathed a cone of fire into one of the stage curtains and mass chaos erupted as every monster tried to leave at once. I vaguely remembered seeing my crutches being kicked down the stairs and then disappearing under the mass of students trying to get out. It seemed like it was every monster for himself, and there was no way I was going to be able to get out. That’s when I felt myself lifted out of my seat and I looked up to see Manny’s face looking down and... smiling. “Need a lift?” he asked. I just nodded and before I knew it we were standing outside the school with everyone else. I kissed him on the cheek, and he gently set me down. I think I need a new scale for how my heart feels now.

✧ Royal Regions ✧
>>This lore will be updated and still a wip<<
These 4 royal and 1 grand stars are the ones that give this world colours. They’re highly respected that the compass and clocks featured them as their guide. Some believed that these stars are the guardians of heaven, Lucidial. Because of these strong beliefs, there are people who worship these stars believing that they could give them power and blessings. These people create their own faction and region depending on what stars they worship.
≿━━━━༺⚙༻━━━━≾
✧ Bahar | Emerald
Baharians worship the royal stars of Aldebaran. It’s the brightest and most prominent star of the Taurus constellation. Much similar to the region, this star represents the great architecture and knowledge the region has. It’s often called as Eye of Revelation, high above the Great Librarius. This region holds dearly to knowledge and its usage for developing the world. Because of this, this region is known too as the Enlightenment Star.
Led by Uriel, this region is located on the east side of the world and the rainy season is very often as high humidity and windswept the clouds to this region. This region has its national days. One of them is when the Vernal Equinox happens. Is where the world reaches a point in its orbit where the Starlight is exactly above the equator. This marks the beginning of Spring as legend said that the guardian of the east, Aldebaran will give its blessing to the people with plentiful crops and knowledge.
✧ Tabestan | Ruby
Tabestanis worship the royal star of Regulus. It’s the brightest star in the Leo constellation. The name Regulus means Heart of the Lion. That name itself means the people are relentless and are brave to tackle any obstacles. They’re very skilled in battle tactics and strategies that if someone ever holds strong ties to them, they’re sure to win any battle.
“The strength of the people’s heart does not weaken because the star of Leo is large.”
Also knows as Alpha Leonis, the star of Regulus is often depicted as the main royal star, the supreme one or the one who led them. This star blessed the people of Tabestanis with a heart of determination in a form of a spectre.
Led by Gabriel, this region is located on the north side of the world. Where starlight shines brightly like their brave hearts. The region was once regarded as the developed one with Baharians as the second one leading in terms of magic breakthrough. This region once has national days. One of them is the Summer Solstice when the path of the sun in the sky is the farthest in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s when the starlight shines the brightest. They hope to get even stronger as this star blesses them with bravery and determination.
Unfortunately, this region was obliterated when The Elysium, entity abode of the afterlife, was disturbed and cause a devastating catalyst to the world. They fought hard as they firmly believes that their star will bless them if they show their courage. To their surprise, they...lost...their beloved region turned into stardust as The Elysium consumed the souls, spirits, and of course the residence. Only a small handful of them survived but not to mention the later injuries they suffered.
The Heart of Lion, the blessed spectre they received also was lost. The last witness stated that the spectre was destroyed into 4 pieces. Unknown to them where they are. Fortunately, the witness manage to remember 3 out of the 4 pieces forms when they shattered. The 4th pieces are unknown to anyone and will remain a mystery until it reveals itself to the great grand star.
✧ Payiz | Sapphire
Payizers worships the royal star of Antares. It’s the brightest star in the Scorpion constellation. It’s known as the Heart of Scorpion as in the legends, a scorpion once killed many hundreds for its master. Thus, making the people very loyal to the grand star, the grand region of the 5 regions. In the past, the royal family served the grand family well and thus was gifted the largest land of this world for its people. Once, someone tried to betray the region which caused the region into a state of instability.
Led by Raphael, this region is located on the west side of the world and by the landmass, it’s the largest between the 5 regions of stars. Where plantation, crystal, and many resources thrive. This shows how thankful the grand family is to the royal family from this region. They’re gifted by untradeable resources in exchange for their utmost and eternal loyalty. Temperature is mild thus many plants could thrive here and they do not gave to worry about winter. The region has its national days. One of them is Autumn Equinox, as the starlight crosses the celestial equator going south. This is where Autumn season comes, many offer their crops so that the star won’t let the cold winter destroy the plantation and asking protection from the dark magic in the Ruby Light area. As plants begin to withered, this is a disadvantage when they’re short in food but some take this as a good time to enjoy the view and festival.
This region almost shared the same fate as Tabestan but luckily they survived but with massive damage to the region. To rebuild is easy, but to restore is not. Thus they start from the bottom, from the scratch of sand. Most of the region is infected with dark magic thus inhabitable and monsters are often seen and attack residents. They call this part of the region the Ruby Light. Whereas the habitable one is the Sapphire Light. Whilst not grand as it used to be, the region still maintains its name as the prosperous region. They often fight or debate with the Baharians in the past with the notion of progress and maintenance.
✧ Zemestan | Amethyst
Zemestanis worships the royal star of Fomalhaut. Unlike the other royal star, this star doesn’t belong in any constellation instead, it stands on its own as the region worshipped it. They worship the star as it represents their situation, drifted apart, alone, in this world. Even though it’s lonely, it shines the brightest amongst the stars just like its people. The people never lost hope of their situation and thrives to change their situation. However in close inspection, Folmalhaut was never alone, it’s accompanied by other unknown stars. They’re not connected but they make a faint constellation called the Pisces Fomalhaut. Deriving from a black and white fish, believed as the star blessing to its people.
Led by Michael, this region is located in the most southern part of the world. It was once part of the main region, the Grand region but due to The Elysium it’s separated and pieces of its land and other regions could be seen floating around it. Like some kind of orbit to shield to protect or perhaps to imprison. The sudden change of climate from mild to extreme cold has made so many casualties as they cannot cope with the cold. As such they switch to warmer clothes. There’s a subzero region right where the star shines down to the region. Many do not dare to venture through the old star shrine as it’s located right in the heart of the subzero region. You will instantly have hypothermia at best and worse freeze to death.
One of the national days is the Winter Solstice, the opposite of the Tabestan region the Summer Solstice. It’s where the peek of the Fomalhaut shines and winter becomes harsher. Many seek refuge in the underground and celebrate....or pray that they will be freed from this situation. Their hope comes from the 2 unknown stars near Fomalhaut as they pray that mayhap 2 people will save them.
✧ Methuselah | ???
They’re the grand nation of all of 5 regions which previously were 4. They worship the starlight, the star that lightens the world. They’re once the centre of the world and was the first region to ever been created before they went on their separate ways. There are still many mysteries shrouded in the region especially after The Elysium.
The Elysium affected Methuselah greatly. It surrounds the region with clouds of dark magic and breaks some of it apart, away from the mainland. It imprisons them inside, cutting them from the outside world. The leader is unknown but they’re rather be called The Harbinger. They manage to tame the Elysium before it could do any damage and they return to their abode of the afterlife. Unfortunately, they cannot erase the accursed cloud surrounding them. They’re trapped in their own home. Striving to survive on their own.

Soul of Stupidity 2.2: How Dohko lost his groove and Aldebaran always had his, but no one ever noticed #Taurus Saint Appreciation Week
Aldebaran: I can’t believe this cosmos! Why, it can belong to no other than Old Master Dohko!
A selfless Saint who dedicated over two hundred years guarding a waterfall to ensure that many generations could live in peace and harmony.
Aldebaran: Old Master Dohko! It is I, Saint Aldebaran of Taurus! Hurry, we must stop Greatest Eclipse!
Dohko: Oh that? Eh, no worries. Want to go drinking?
*Later
Aldebaran: Old Master, why aren’t you even concerned about Hades trying to conquer the world again?
Dohko: Oh what’s the worst that can happen?
Aldebaran: He killed nearly all of your friends in the last battle.
Dohko: Yeah, that’s true and normally I would care, but as the wise ancient chinese phrase goes: Next Dimension bù mài. Cùjìn Asgard zhēngqǔ gèng duō de shōurù.
Which Google translates to: Next Dimension Myth Cloths doesn't sell. Promote Asgard for more money instead.
Besides, who do you think people will buy more of? God Cloth Aiolos or Sagittarius Gestalt, you know, the one who was tricked into thinking he was half-horse?
Aldebaran: Alright, but even if you ignore the past, don’t you think us coming back from the dead is very suspicious?
Aldebaran’s actual dialogue: We, the Gold Saints, perished in the Underworld, yet were revived here in Asgard. It’s clearly at someone’s will. Someone is playing with our lives here.
Dohko: Mysteriously revived by another deity? Oh come on, what’s the worst that could happen.
*FLASHBACK
Saga: We’re back bitches!
Dohko: Oh yeah… I forgot about that.
Aldebaran’s actual dialogue: Aren’t you infuriated? We only work at Athena’s will. And yet a Saint like you lounging in a place like this?
Dohko: But things are great over here! I can drink and fight and I’ve never felt as alive as I do now!
Aldebaran: But what about the others outside of Asgard?
Shunrei: Oh my goodness! What is wrong with the sun?
Shiryu: Where the hell am I?
Athena: Uggh, this sucks.
Dohko: Eh, they’re all important characters. The plot armor will save them. You need to relax, big guy.
Aldebaran: But you’re acting very out of character!
Dohko: I know, but don’t worry. This is the third Saint Seiya series I was in. As long as there is a villain that’s a bigger dick than I, the viewers won’t notice.
Hercules: MWHA HA HA! COME OUT GOLD SAINTS! I am Hercules of Tanngsnir! I am here to kill you two and I am willing to hurt innocent women and little orphan children to do so!
Dohko: Jackpot!
Dohko: Alright big guy, you’re up!
Aldebaran: Me? But I can’t fight! Athena doesn’t allow personal battles.
Dohko: Look, I already fought a bunch of personal battles already and my armor didn’t abandon me. Trust me, if you do this, it’s cool man.
Aldebaran: Fine, I’ll put on my Cloth, but because this is a personal battle, for the sake of Athena’s honor, I will not fight.
Hercules: Ha! If you are just going to stand there, I will make you fight!
Aldebaran: By the Goddess! He’s attacking the crowd! Dohko! You’re in the stands with them! Stop standing around and use your light speed and rescue all of those people!
Dohko: Sorry big guy, but you have to prove to the audience that you are really powerful.
Aldebaran: I don’t care about showing off! There are innocent orphan children there! If you are a true Saint, you know what to do.
Dohko: Okay fine. Since I am a Saint...
Dohko:...kids, if you outrun the nuclear blast, I’ll consider you worthy and you can come train with me on the five peaks of China.
Aldebaran: DOHKO!?!
Dohko: I’m joking. I think the writers screwed up my character in this episode. But they got you down pretty well, big guy. You’re a true and underrated Saint so show them your stuff for #Taurus Saint Appreciation Week.
Aldebaran: That’s right! GREAT HORN!!!!!
Hercules: Ahhhh, run away!!!!!
Aldebaran: Ah, finally, a battle where I don’t get my ass kicked or lose to some metro-sexual flute player. Okay Dohko, where should we go next?
Dohko: Hmm, that tree looks pretty evil in the distance.
Aldebaran: Goddess, it’s like a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion!
Dohko: I agree. Hey Aldebaran, what are you thinking about?
Aldebaran: It’s your character. I was reading the script and was thinking that maybe they switched you and Deathmask’s plot lines.
Dohko: How so?
Aldebaran: Shouldn’t Deathmask be the one who was fighting in an Arena, drinking all the time, not caring about Athena or anything due to losing his Cloth, while you would be the one caring for little orphans, playing cards and donating your winnings, and falling in love with a kind woman after missing out on that part of your life as a hermit for two hundred years?
Dohko: Aldebaran….stop making sense.

What Flavor Is Your Soul?

ah little kraken, bold are you. restless sailor, dauntless fighter, lower your sword, let me see your shield. ah, of course, they are but the same object. oh wave-tossed ruffian, lend me some of your mettle would you? you have been struck by the sharpest of spears yet you still stand here proudly. but off your guard, elsewhere of the battlefield, you will find your spirit can parch others. your words are but weapons crafted from your soul. little lion, sheathe your claws, or the ones you love the most will suffer. you do not have to be strong all the time love, there's nothing wrong with being soft. vulnerability is not weakness, and if it were, what's wrong with that? strength is not always your greatest tool, your heart is good. put down excalibur, and use your words. you'll find they will carry you much farther. not everything in life is a battle.

ah, the old soul, nice to meet again. the time of ages is etched into your bones, you see clearly. you've watched the heartache in this realm and sworn to solve it. but kindness without limits is self destruction. oh little leaf, strong and wise, you seek to bring peace with your presence. I'd be wrong to say you fail at this effort, but you mustn't set yourself on fire to keep others warm. you wish to please everyone, to protect them all. but if you shield the saplings from the sunlight they will never grow, and you one day will wither. protect yourself too. you know there are no happy heroes, so don't be one. be a friend. your loved ones will not forsake you for not being perseus slaying all their demons. you have your own monsters, why not meet them first before you conquer anyone else's nightmares. oh true-hearted paladin you are brave, and you are good enough. you know that right? be true to yourself, one cannot do anything saintly if they did not tend to their own wounds first.

Honest Opinion - Secondary Gold Saints
I messed up in the announcement post. I totally forgot we’re out of Gold Saints that aren’t resurrected Saints, and told you I was going to do Shura’s opinion after Milo. Give me a break, I slept like four hours per night for two months. Anyway, this post is about the Gold Saints that didn’t actually have a role in the Hades Chapter. Which is a shame, really.
Next up is the resurrected (Gold) Saints. That means I will write about Shion, Saga, Deathmask, Shura, Camus and Aphrodite.
Taurus Aldebaran and Sagittarius Aiolos
Overall score (character, not looks): 10/10
They both have the full score or 10/10 because I want to follow through with what I’ve done so far, that being giving every single Gold Saint a 10/10 on their Inferno appearance since they sacrificed for the safety of the world. Unfortunately, I legit have almost nothing to say about them.
I appreciate how they showed Aldebaran’s kindness, because this man is a goofball with a bright smile on his face alongside his warrior side, but that was basically it for him. He has a ten seconds sequence, and that’s it. Even though the scene of Mu learning about his death was heartbreaking, there’s nothing else. Save for the obvious, he didn’t even have a role at the end, except greeting his fellow Saints.
Aiolos got it even worse. I have nothing to say about him. And I mean it. I even covered him reuniting with his brother on Aiolia’s entry, because it’s not something I can put for him.
BUT
I do have a thing to say about his absence from the show. Or, specifically, from Shion’s plan. If you look at things the logic way, Hades should have brought Aiolos back as well, shouldn’t he? Or at least, Shion should have done something to have him fight. For once, I don’t think that’s actually the logic way. Because it makes way more sense for Aiolos to refuse Shion’s offer to fake their betrayal. Even if the outcome is good, I fully understand why Aiolos had to be absent from this. There’s no way Aiolos, who died while labelled as a traitor, would take up that label again. This is the only thing, at least in my opinion, that justifies Aiolos being completely absent from the show.
But I’m still mad that they had so little time on screen.

Sky walking Journal 7/15/2020
If you got up early enough this morning you would have seen the waning moon 🌜and Venus in his/ her incarnation as the morning star, Lucifer, rise together in Tropical Gemini ♊️. Constilationally they are seen together in Taurus, with Venus about a visual degree ( finger width) from the fixed star Aldebaran. Ptolemy states Aldebaran has the nature of Mars☄️. Aldebaran is one of the 4 Royal Stars of Persia 🌟and the Watcher of the East, the corner stone marking the spring equinox. The name Aldebaran, means “Star Worshiper,” according to Brady. Aldebaran’s teachings are meant, “to restore belief in the sanctity of the material world, and ultimately, it is said, to restore the earth to its original state of perfection.” Each of the 4 Royal Stars always promise a success; but we have to overcome the nemesis in order to do so ... In the case of Aldebaran, the challenge is one of integrity and honor. We see that this symbology is then carried into our relationships at this time, due to its connection to Venus and the Contellation Venus rules, Taurus ♉️ ... how this manifests right now is through the stain glass of Gemini, again, relationships and communication..... it is a time to restore integrity to the small details that connect each of us together, The Lover’s Card in the Tarot ~ associated with Gemini ...🐉🦚
( 🧞♂️Sidebar: Those who study Astrology know that there are three zodiacs. Interestingly, there is not a, “right,” or “wrong,” zodiac. Similarly to my shoe size that is a size 13 in the US and a size 14 in the UK ( yes I have big feet 🦶😆) ... both are correct. The astrologer understands which one you use boils down to what technique you are using. Each Zodiac can be used for various techniques to understand a question, a timing, a person, etc. I’ll save further comment for another post ... 😉)

More Tokusatsu AU craziness, here’s Violent Athena! This would be towards the climatic finale of the series...
Saori Kido, heir to the financial empire known as the Graude Foundation, was adopted by Mitsumasa Kido as an infant after the wounded Aries Mu and the dying Sagittarius Aiolos teleported to his mansion’s doorstep with her in tow. While Aiolos could not be saved, Mu told Mitsumasa that the baby was the reincarnation of Athena and needed to be protected at all costs. He also told Mitsumasa that the reason they teleported to his estate was that the baby’s mother told Mu that if something were to happen to her, the Kido family would where to go.
Meanwhile in Sanctuary’s headquarters in the outskirts of Athens, the newly crowned Pope Arles cursed his weakness and entered deep thought. The baby Athena was not like previous incarnations of their treasured goddess. Born to the Angel Bilquis and the Gold Saint Aries Mu after a tryst that formed following the two Pantheons joining forces to seal away the treacherous “Lord of Hell” Lucifer, this new baby had the potential to totally unravel whatever hold Sanctuary had over the remaining Pantheons. When Arles, back then known as the leader of the Gold Saints “Gemini Saga, attempted to tell Pope Shion, he discovered Shion using forbidden arts in an attempt to create artificial Spectres. The constant stream of blasphemy caused Saga to lose control of his better half, and in a rage Saga slew Shion and took his place in an attempt to “right the wrongs.”
As his rage abated, Saga realized in horror what he had done and quickly set out to discover what Shion had been up to. As it turned out, Shion was attempting to reverse engineer the “Specterism” plague that befell Sanctuary during the previous Holy War of the 18th Century. Saga had walked into the final testing stages that would turn a possessed human back into their former self. Shion had left enough of his notes for Saga to complete the cure, and quickly put the experiment to rest. Saga decided that he would honor his former Pope by finishing what he started and reclaim Sanctuary’s glory.
After allowing the child prodigy Hornet Milo to kill Bilquis, whom Arles poisoned with dark energy so that she appeared to have gone mad, he attempted to poison the baby Athena, as well. The goal was simply to present the possessed Athena to his former comrades and cure her in order to boost his cult of personality among the other Pantheons. Aiolos walked in by happenstance, and in the struggle he learned Arles’ true identity. Saga quickly overpowered his former comrade and ordered his death when Aiolos snatched Athena from her crib and brought her to Mu.
Finding Athena was easy enough for Arles, who could sense her Holy Cosmo all across the planet, but it was pointless to go after her now. The window had passed, and he needed to ensure that Sanctuary would not suspect him for foul play. As he gathered his allies and removed those who may one day rise against him, an even grander scheme formed in his mind. Perhaps Athena being born of an Angel and a Gold Saint was not a blasphemy, but a blessing in disguise. When she reached maturity and awakened to her true self, Athena would possess the most powerful vessel ever. It might even one day surpass the height of Athena’s divine flesh prior to the end of the Age of Myth.
If this vessel could be that powerful...perhaps it would be possible for it to become a vessel for another entity.
19 years later, Saori Kido awakened and her godly Cosmo was felt all across the world. It would signal a months long campaign for Sanctuary to reclaim the “ripened” Athena from the traitors who whisked her away. Mu, who had adopted the identity of billionaire weapons developer and head of Graude Foundation’s R&D Division “Mutsuki Zeto,” had prepared two teams to meet Arles’ assault: the noble “Zodiac Knights” led by Pegasus Seiya who fought to protect all innocent life from Sanctuary’s tyranny, and the unrelenting “Zodiac Horde” led by Unicorn Jabu whose sole purpose was to protect Saori and inflict harm upon anyone who put her at risk.
During the conflict, Arles discovered that the Knights’ Andromeda Shun was the vessel for Hades. Under the advice of his twin brother Kanon, who was now acting as his kagemusha for the Gemini Cloth, Arles waited for Pisces Aphrodite to repot the successful assassination of longtime Sanctuary target Pandora Heinstein, and sent him to Japan for his next mission. As Aphrodite headed to Japan, Kanon sent a message to Siren Sorrento under the “Sea Dragon” codename that the time had come to awakening their secret God Poseidon.
On the surface, it appeared that Saori’s protector and old childhood sweetheart Julian Solo and her trusted Saint Andromeda Shun were going to be pitted against one another with the hopes that one angry God killed the other. Shun had been forcibly awakened as Hades with a dart laced with Pandora’s blood, and Julian through the vase containing Poseidon’s seal soul being undone by Sorrento. Because neither possession was natural, the hold of them was not absolute, and the Zodiac Knights were able to restore their teammate by sealing Hades’ soul within the now-empty vase. Sorrento volunteered to ensure the vase would not fall into the wrong hands, but two days later Julian discovered his body with no vase in sight.
In reality, Sanctuary had planned this chain of events from the beginning. Kanon had acquired the Sea Dragon moniker from Sorrento’s late father, whom he had killed to cover his tracks that his “youthful romantic indiscretions” with the fiance of the Solo Shipping Conglamerate’s heir resulted in the birth of Poseidon’s next vessel. He was imprisoned by his brother when Shion got word of this, but now it was an avenue of Arles’ greatest triumph. Because he was fathered by a Gemini Saint, it meant that his possession would be a split dichotomy instead of a gradual transformation like Saori into Athena. This gave the Knights a chance to reason with Julian and work together to stop Hades.
Now Hades’ soul was sealed entirely within the vase, and Arles quickly went to work on the next phase of the plan as Aphrodite returned to Sanctuary with the vase in tow. Arles withdrew his troops from Japan and accepted Saori’s proposition for a final showdown. Three weeks later, Saori and the Zodiac Knights arrived at the Aries Temple, where they were immediately ambushed by 500 of Sanctuary’s best soldiers. In the conflict, Saori was wounded by an arrow, and Arles telepathically challenged the Zodiac Knights to conquer the 12 Houses if they wished to save her.
As the Knights marched up the temple, the Gold Saints still loyal to Athena hurried to the Aries Temple in an attempt to stop the venom that had entered his bloodstream. As the final temple was cleared, Libra Dohko had successfully nullified the arrow’s venom, but in doing so sealed the fate of himself, Scorpio Milo, and Taurus Aldebaran. The venom was only a decoy, a medicine that kept Saori’s soul pure from the true purpose of the arrow. The reality was that the arrow contained the entirety of Hades’ soul, warped by Arles’ Judeccan Sorcery to be more susceptible to consumption by Saori.
The dark wave of violent intent was felt all the way in the Pope’s Sanctum, where Aries Mu and his protege Knights were on the cusp of victory against the fearsome duo of the Gemini Twins. Realizing that he would likely never have a chance to admit to Saori that he was so much more to her than just her mentor, Mu used his Starlight Extinction to teleport the Knights as far down the Temple stairs as he could muster. As for himself, Mu opened a portal to the crawlspace between realities known as “the Void,” and let nothingness swallow himself and the Gemini Twins before they could stop the Knights.
Back at the foot of the Aries Temple, the Zodiac Horde finally arrived to provide reinforcements, but realized it might already be too late. Instead of Athena taming Hades’ soul with her purity as Saga had hoped, instead the two souls fused together into something new and twisted. Dohko, Milo, and Aldebaran had been reduced to bloody slush, and in place of the Nike Staff was the Sword of Kers. Once hailed as a Goddess of Righteous War, Saori Kido had instead turned into an entity of Ultimate Punishment, triggered by even the slightest scent of moral decay.
As the smell of humanity’s sin entered her nostrils, Saori Kido reached for her blade and prepared to begin her judgment of her charges. Athena had been reborn, and nothing would ever be the same again...

@aphrodites-bloody-rose It’s that day again, it’s your birthday! So here’s a short fic to enjoy on this day!
Title: Worth More Than Bronze Series: Saint Seiya Character(s): Taurus Aldebaran, Pisces Aphrodite, Aries Mu, Kiki Word Count: 3072 Summary: Sometimes life hands you gold or lemons. Sometimes when you stop a black market from selling all kinds of magical animals and things, life hands you something else entirely. Aldebaran never looked back, even if looking forward presented a challenge.
“I found more crates in a truck bed” Aldebaran called out to Aphrodite who nodded and frowned as he watched the taller Saint placed them near a tent.
“This is such a mess” The Pisces Saint replied, sighing and tucking back several strands of hair behind an ear. “There’s so much here, most I don’t even know what it is or how they got it” and the entire thing left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Word had reached Sanctuary, as it always had with their advanced and deep networks, of a black market going to take place on one of the smaller islands of Greece. Normally, they would turn the matter over to the proper authorities but there was something strange about this one. Word was it was a market for the mysterious and fantastical, living or not and with that Athena sent Aldebaran and Aphrodite to handle the trouble with a small group of Sanctuary soldiers. They were to dress as civilians and investigate before calling in the guard.
A precaution that only turned to be for the best. They found the location and quickly realized how grave the situation truly was. Within a few minutes of observing the ‘market’ they had sent the signal and every dealer and buyer were arrested, save for a few that ended up as rose covered bodies. Aphrodite’s silent outrage was clear. They would handle the others later, until then they would stay locked away in one of Sanctuary’s prisons.
Which left the matter of the…stock, as if anything they found could be called that. There were animals, more like creatures as they were far too strange for that word. Birds with four long wings, lizards with stained glass like frills and crests, small griffon like ones that were no bigger than a medium-sized dog with peacock tails and long eel like creatures that flickered many colors in tanks. There were more too, as well as remains or bits of others. Pelts of furs, skulls and bones and then there were the jars. Clear things with labels such as ‘harpy’s talons’, ‘scales of a mermaid’, ‘venom of a manticore’ and an endless list of more.
If it was one small fortune the creatures had taken a liking to Aldebaran and didn’t peak, hiss or bite when the gentle Saint had refilled their food, water or stepped into their enclosures. Though it was clear to Aphrodite that the entire event bothered him, a deep sadness never left his eyes even as he lightly petted one of the peacocks like griffons as one of the four-winged birds sat on his shoulder.
For him, he had his own brand of bitterness and sorrow.
Besides the animals there plants, wild and exotic. Some were lined up in the sunlight while others were kept in the shadows. They called to him, asking for water or to moved just slightly towards the light or darkness. They were like nothing had had ever seen; a long vine bearing one that glowed in the shadows, one like a persian shield but with longer leaves in shades of blue and while, flowers that sounded like chimes when a breeze moved through them and another red flowering one that unfurled its petals and whispered a life among ladies in a city built in towering trees and lit lanterns before it had been stolen away when its captor tricked one lady into falling for him. Its sadness was clear, and he promised to return it to its right home as soon as he could. He gave it his name and it returned with its own; Nymph’s Heart.
They had sent a messenger bird after they had arrested everyone and received word back only a while ago. They were to spend the night, partly in case others came but mostly to watch over the beasts until of Sanctuary’s special contacts arrived to begin caring for…everything. The process of returning the animals to their natural environment, to sanctuaries or reserves would be a long one but worth it in the end. As for the plants, well…that would depend on the contact’s opinions and in the worst case, he always had room for new plants in his temple or gardens.
“If you want to switch, I can work on the list” Aldebaran said, resting a hand gently on his shoulder.
Aphrodite rubbed at his eyes and nodded, handing over the clipboard and pen “I’ll look over those crates then, we still have some daylight after all.”
“Of course, we have most things accounted for, I couldn’t find anything else besides those ones” He replied, gesturing over to where he laid them out. “First one was mostly jars of plants and er…odd books and scrolls, I didn’t open them.”
‘Those might be more aligned with Deathmask’s expertise’ Aphrodite thought, the Cancer’s library had been full of the stuff, an inheritance from those who came before him and he had taken a liking to the subjects. Then again, Shura had some as well though any books he had were an old, old form of Celtic they never could translate. ‘Well if the expert has little knowledge on them, we can deliver them to Cancer easily enough.’
Oh he could only imagine the glee on the Cancer Saint’s face when he returned with several dozen new tomes for him to devour.
‘Until then’ he thought as he pried open a crate ‘I best make sure there’s nothing we’re forgetting.’
Luckily enough, the crate held only items instead of living things. Small, clear boxes of palm sized crystals and rocks. Bolts of various cloths that shimmered, felt like ice to the touch, chain mail and another few that seemed to have runes etched into them.
“I don’t recognize these” Aphrodite sighed as he ran a thumb of one the bolts, rubbing the fabric between his fingers. It felt electrifying yet not painful, within him his cosmo stirred and seemed to brush forward towards it. “But I think giving these to Mu might be a good idea” He held one up for Aldebaran to inspect.
“That…that is odd” The Taurus agreed, eyes widening as he felt the same sensation and handed it back.
“To put it mildly” He nodded, slipping the bolt back into the crate and replaced its covering. “Now, let’s see what’s in the last one hm?”
The final crate was covered in chains and was lined with layers of blankets and straw on the inside, something completely different from the others they had seen and broken open. Aphrodite passed Aldebaran a “something is wrong” look as Aldebaran lowered himself beside him.
“Something important is in here” Aphrodite breathed. No one would put chains on the outside of something if they didn’t want someone to get in easily or for something to get out. Compared to everything else, who knew what that something was.
They dug slowly and carefully through the straw, tossing it to the sides as they went deeper in, until at last they stopped. A blanket wrapped something rested in the middle of the crate, larger than a football though a vaguely familiar shape.
Carefully, Aldebaran reached in and pulled it out. “It’s heavy” he noted before pulling back the blanket some and freezing.
Both Saints eyes went wide and Aphrodite covered his mouth with a hand.
It was sleek, like it was made of smooth metal that reminded them of their armor, yet the color was different. The shape was familiar because it was an egg, a heavy metal like egg.
“What creature could make this?” Aldebaran looked towards Aphrodite who shook his head.
“I have no idea, but something tells me we’re going to find out.”
----
Once they arranged everything in the shutdown market, the two saints retired to one of the tents they bought along with them and made themselves comfortable for the night. Well, as comfortable as they could considering one of them would be up part of the night before switching with the other. As for the egg, well Aldebaran had raised chickens before, and Aphrodite had hung around Shura long enough for some of his farm life experience had supplied some knowledge. They heated a blanket up by a fire and wrapped the egg in it entirely. They agreed that between keeping watch to make sure the blanket stayed warm as well.
Aldebaran had offered to take the first watch and currently sat by the crackling fire, arms crossed as he looked towards the night sky, the egg wrapped safe in a basket beside him. The sky was clear, and he could make out the stars making up several constellations, the weather was warm too as it usually was in Greece. It was peaceful in sharp comparison of the frenzy of the day.
Though it wasn’t an awful day, they stopped an illegal market from taking place, saved several creatures and hopefully would be to stop more from happening. It was also nice to interact with Aphrodite too, they rarely spoke unless they had too, what with their different social groups but he had always hoped to bridge any gaps that existed between him and the other Gold Saints.
The usual aloof but charming Aphrodite had shown a softer side of him today, not just through his words but in his actions. The horror he expressed when they first arrived, the anger to the people who dared to do such terrible things and then the sadness towards the creatures and plants. It was a rare to side but one he hoped just slightly to see more of.
“And then there is you” Aldebaran sighed as he took a sip of his still pipping hot tea and looked towards the egg. “Part of me hopes you don’t hatch too quickly; I fear we won’t know how to look after you properly. But then again, I can’t help but be curious to know what you are, can you blame me?” he chuckled.
Perhaps it was silly to speak to an egg, yet it was soothing to get his thoughts out of his mind. “Though, hopefully you won’t be too dangerous-hm?” he paused, a sound reaching him and causing him to go on the alert.
An odd sound, like a chirp then followed by the basket shifting and-“Aphrodite!” he shouted, twisting around to see the lantern inside the tent light up before he focused back on the rocking basket.
“What, what? I’m awake!” The Pisces shouted, stumbling out of the tent and brushing his hair out of his eyes.
“The egg!” He replied as he pulled the basket on it his lap to steady it and pull back the blanket just in time as it began to crack. Sounds came forth like odd squeaks and cries as a paw-if that was a paw-began to claw at one side as another began to kick more at the metal like shell.
“Oh sweet heavens, now?” The Pisces gasped and returned with the lantern to shine over the Taurus’ shoulder as they watch an awe as a small form broken its way into the world.
A head poked and nudged at part of the shell before another part of the egg exploded out from the side as another appendage-a wing-broke out. As quick as it begun it ended as Aldebaran moved bits of the shell out of the basket as the creature did the rest of the work.
There was a long tail, four legs, a long neck for its size and two wings, a row of nubs adorned its head that would likely grown into a crest, in the light of the lantern it looked like it was covered in yellowish scales. It slide out of the rest of the shell before tripping on its wing and landed on its back, chirping as it stared up at them and they stared at it.
“Aldebaran…what is that?” Aphrodite whispered as he leaned over his shoulder more.
“I…I believe it’s a dragon” He replied, looking towards the other Gold Saint, heart beating hard against his chest. Questioned flew in his mind, how was it possible? Where did it come from? How did someone get it? Did the expert know anything about dragons? What were they going to tell Athena?
----
Two days later, Aldebaran found himself trying to hush his housemate and close a door.
“Shh, shh, I know you want to explore but not right now, I don’t know how Mu and Kiki will react to you yet” He said, voice even as he bent down to try and nudge the small, energetic creature inside “It’s only for a few minutes I swear.”
Every day since they returned from the mission had been busy and chaotic. The expert had arrived early in the morning just a few hours after the dragon had hatched. The animals, many endangered as it turned out, had been begun to be sent to safe places with trusted hands. The items in all shapes and forms were generally safe and the expert saw no harm and in allowing Sanctuary to keep them; tomes and scrolls to Deathmask, rocks and fabric to Mu, weapons to Shura and the plants…the plants went to Aphrodite’s expanding gardens.
And the dragon…to him.
It was a bronze dragon the expert told them, one of many breeds of dragons in their world. They were fond of warm weather, swimming and were more common in the Mediterranean areas. They were friendly he said, they loved people and rarely fought unless they had to, or they sensed an enemy was evil. They generally liked humans and often took the forms of them but the infant was too young to learn such a thing. It had been stolen away from a lair most likely, few people hunted dragons and even few hunted metallic ones. The expert had promised to do his best to find its family though that might take a while as dragons, especially bronze ones, were difficult to find.
And once he was the first thing the little one had seen; it would be difficult to have someone else look after it besides its parents. Until then, he was left with a handful of notes how what was safe to feed the baby dragon and things to watch out for, like odd gas from its mouth or bolts of lightening as that was apparently what bronze dragons breathed rather than fire.
Aside from Aphrodite, Athena, Saga and Aiolos, no one else knew of the dragon’s presence. Though part of him wondered if Aphrodite told Deathmask or Shura.
That was going to change today, as Mu wished to have lunch with him and young Kiki. It only made sense to him to let his lover know about the newest, temporary guest of the Zodiac Temples as Mu and Kiki had been away in Jamir until today.
Just as he finally shut the door, he heard Mu call out to him, Kiki sliding over a corner to run towards him.
“Alde! Alde you’re back!” He shouted as he ran and leapt to give him a hug as Aldebaran bent down to catch him.
“So are you short stack!” He laughed and stood up as Kiki hung on to one of his arms.
Mu only smiled and shook his head “And he didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.”
Kiki made a sound of disgust and stuck out of his tongue “But it was so early when we got back!”
“Tsk, Mu you know how bad jetlag can be” Aldebaran teased and chuckled as Mu rolled his eyes.
“but you know what does help with jetlag? Food, some of lunch is ready!” He said, swinging Kiki lightly towards the kitchen area. The kid gasped and let go just he swung slightly forward and dashed off to start digging into the food no doubt.
“Kiki, won’t eat everything!” Mu shouted, getting a drawn out “Fine” as a replied.
“He’s getting ready to hit another growth spurt soon” Mu sighed and rubbed at his eyes.
“It’s only natural, he’ll be a preteen before you know it” Aldebaran laughed only to jerk when he heard the dragon chirp behind the door.
“Alde? What was that?” Mu asked and looked around.
“Uh…must have been a bird?” He offered, silently stepped towards the door.
Mu gave him a hard, knowing look “Something is behind that door, isn’t it?”
“Yes! But I really ought to explain before I let it out-“
Too late, there was a sound of a door handle being broken and then there was the feeling of small, needle like claws grasping at his back as the dragon climbed up him and leapt off his shoulder. Mu gasped and took a step back as it moved, dashing off towards the kitchen in an awkward gallop, what with its tail and wings trying to trip itself once and while.
“Good heavens, what was that?” Mu shouted they bolted towards the kitchen, hearing Kiki squeal.
“I swear I can explain!” He shouted back as they sprinted.
Their worry faded as they around a curved corner and sighed in heavy relief.
There was Kiki, holding the wiggling mess of limbs that was called a baby dragon as it was a puppy or kitten. The dragon simply squealed back and chirped, tail moving back and forth just as puppy would, wings spread out as it nudged its head against Kiki’s cheeks. It was surprising to see Kiki hold the small creature, given they were almost the same size.
“Alde…what…that…that can’t” Mu gasped out before straightening his back and leaning towards the doorway with his mouth agape. “That can’t be a dragon” he managed to say.
“It’s a bronze dragon, technically” He replied, smiling sheepishly as Mu gave him a wide-eyed look while Kiki to the floor and laughed without a care in the world. The young dragon sniffed and flickered its tongue at him before leaping off him and began to wiggle its backside like a cat about to pounce.
“Bronze? What, how?” Mu asked.
“Can we keep it!” Kiki shouted.
“No!”
“I kind of have too!”
“Huh? Have to-I” Mu paused and dropped his shoulders as he pressed a hand against his face. “What exactly happened on your mission?” He asked.
“It’s kind of a long story” He said, rubbing a hand against Mu’s back “I’ll explain as we eat but…want to help pick out a name?”

“My brother isn’t dead! He became stardust in the battle of the Twelve Temples! My brother is no longer in this world! My brother is no longer in this world!”
The Poseidon Arc has never been (and probably never will be) a favorite of mine, for many reasons. Nothing in the animated version really stuck with me, and now that Panini reached this point in printing the ultimate version of the manga, I don’t really feel any different.
In the animated version, some time after the battle agains the God Warrios in Asgard, Saori is kidnapped by Poseidon and taken to the world he created under the sea (no pun intended) and, after she rejected him again, he accepted his offer of letting her save humanity by flooding the main pillar with her inside instead of flooding earth.
In the manga, this happened in a similar manner, except for the fact that she wasn’t kidnapped at all, but rather, after Mermaid Sorrento killed Taurus Aldebaran, she went there and demanded to see Poseidon to try and convince him into not flooding humanity. (And they apparently didn’t know each other was Poseidon/Athena which was a funny scene I guess)
(I also want to point out that Kurumada did a really good job representing the mermaids from the Greek mythology)
He proposes they govern the new earth together, she rejects him again, and the same thing about saving humanity and becoming a human pilar usw. (in other words: I’m actually angry at the animated version bc they continued the narrative that Saori is rendered helpless every single time by every enemy, gets kidnapped and always has to be rescued by the Bronce Saints. One reason I really liked SSO, was because at the end of the second season, it broke off this narrative... sort of.)
The Bronce Saints wake up from their coma (for whatever reason), and follow Kiki’s nose (?) to the world under the sea.
For whatever reason Thetis explains them what the pillars are, where they are and how to destroy them (honestly, she could have just said nothing and they would have been none the wiser until they killed the shoguns smh).
We start with Seiya vs. Seahorse Baian, a battle I really liked bc it explains how Seiya has learned from his previous battles (!)
Then we have Shun’s battle against Scilla Io (one I actually liked), which demonstrates that while Shun still has some pacifist ideals (i.e. tying Scilla instead of killing him and attacking the pillar bc his goal was to destroy the pillar and not to defeat the shogun, though Scilla got between the attack at the end and died anyways, bc convenience) he will fight if it comes down to it, and also risk his life if it will mean less deaths, wtf not.
on another note, I didn’t remember Shun using the nunchucks and I also didn’t know it was something I needed in my life
I have no commentary for Shiryu’s and Krishna’s battle. I was just... ??? Idk I didn’t like it.
And then we have the battle against Kasa.
Both Seiya and Hyoga start out incredibly sceptical of the fact that Marin and Camus are there, but at some point they fell for it (too easy, imo, Hyoga should have known it wasn’t Camus by the fact that he wasn’t doing jibes at his Oedipus Syndrome). Shun also believed that Kasa was Ikki, but was saved from having the same fate as Hyoga and Seiya by the fact that his chains are awesome. Shun realizes that it isn’t Ikki by the fact that he is filled with hate when, after being brought back to Earth by Shaka, he was no longer hateful, but repentant, and trying to make amends, they apologize and have a wonderful heart to heart (cut from the anime unfortunately); anyways, Kasa reveals who he is, and Shun immediately knows the creature his scale represents, and how it parallels his technique.
He says that even if it’s a battle field, abusing the kindness out of people’s hearts is something he absolutely cannot forgive, and starts using his chains to immobolize him before using the triangle chain to try and kill him, but Kasa takes the form of Ikki again (thus the internal dialogue at the top, that I found very interesting and the main reason the outcome of the battle dissapointed me so) and Shun says that, even if he knows it’s the enemy, he couldn’t kill someone who looks so much like his brother.
Run that by me again?!
We have seen in his battle against Aphrodite (and even in his battle against Io) that he is capable of killing, even if very reluctant and after the umpteenth second chance. Even at the very end of his battle against Aphrodite, he tried to reason and not to kill him, out of the pureness of his soul, because he thought he was redeemable of killing his master with no thought (something on par, imo, with impersonating his thought-to-be-dead brother and attempting to kill his precious friends).
I think that, at this point, even with all his pureness, he could have been capable of killing Kasa, he knew it wasn’t his brother, and while I could have accepted him not wanting to kill him because he still dislikes killing and is queasy after his battle against Io, but I also think that him impersonating his brother would have angered him (it sure did at the beggining), and gave him a lot more reasons to defeat him and destroy his pillar.
In my honest opinion, Shun being rendered helpless by Kasa, only to be saved by Ikki later on, was a very cheap resource to bring Ikki back into the narrative, very influenced by the animated adaptation, and just... it completely destroys Shun’s character developement. And his battle against Sorrento (that I do not remember bc the Poseidon arc was just... not memorable) didn’t endear me to Shun’s animated version.
I think that, something that would have had way more impact, would be Shun defeating Kasa, destroying the pillar, helping his friends (or not bc they are always on a hurry I guess) and when they arrive at Kanon’s pillar they see Ikki doing a stand-off with Seadragon.
(and regarding Seadragon: I think that it being Shaina instead who stepped between Poseidon’s triton and Seiya undermined his redemption and it made for a lot of confusion in the Hades OVAs, when he is suddenly a super devoted and repentant Saint, jfc, though it did a very good job on driving the point home on just how fucking devoted she is to Seiya, something that, imo, the anime did really good.)
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
