“Mag...Magnus...You need-” Alec cried out a little bit, the room starting to spin around him. He couldn’t lose consciousness, not now, they needed to get Magnus. “Get him!” Alec cried again, sweat dripping from his body, his breathing laboured, and his runes too weak to do anything. It was really bad, Alec knew that, and everyone else knew that too by the panic that was on their faces.  Missions went sideways all the time, but a Ravener demons stinger breaking off in your chest mid-fight was about as bad as Alec had ever had it. It was a miracle that Jace got them out of there and to the institute before it was too late. “Jace...” He gasped, looking to his parabatai as they came into the infirmary. “You have to tell him...I...Love him. Tell him.” There were rumours that Shadowhunters weren’t afraid of anything, but Alec was terrified. He was terrified that even though he was still alive, it was still too late. That he would be taken away from everyone, from Magnus. If he was being honest it felt like he was dying. He couldn’t stop himself from crying out in pain, his body burning as if it was on fire, and the world, the world was starting to fade away around him no matter how determined he was to stay awake until Magnus got there.  Alec was starting to come in and out of consciousness when he thought he saw the portal he was waiting for, but it could have just been his head playing with the lights. “Magnus..” Was all he managed to whimper out, before he slipped into unconsciousness, hoping that the warlock was there, praying it was a portal that caught his eye. @brooklynxmagic

Alec had a room in the institute, but it seemed as of late that his bed was replaced by his desk, and his bedroom was now his office. It had been three days since he had left the small area for more than five minutes, consequently, any kind of self care such as eating and sleeping for more than an hour went out the window. Thank the angel for runes that could somewhat keep him functional.  He was trying to please everyone, that is what it boiled down to. Between his parents, the downworlders and the clave, he was being pulled in multiple directions, trying desperately to get back into everyones good graces; especially his parents. Everything he had pulled with Magnus months ago at what was supposed to be his wedding to Lydia put a strain on his relationship with his parents to say the least.  It seemed like the only good thing that had happened was the death of Valentine, which he was still doing paperwork on for the clave, along with sending almost all of their shadowhunters to round up members of the circle that got away. It was never ending. Alec lifted his head off of his desk from one of his quick 45 minute to an hour naps, his phone buzzing with messages from Isabelle, Jace and his significant other. He sighed, running a hand through his hair placing his phone back down. He was too exhausted, all he wanted to do was lay his head back down but instead, he picked his pen back up and forced himself to keep going.  @brooklynxmagic

Alec's heart was beating quickly. It was the evening before their wedding and he couldn’t help but be nervous. He was completely sure about Magnus and his love for him, but to finally be able to call the person who had his heart his husband, finally. It was so surreal.  Everything they needed for the Honeymoon was already packed, including a small bag for Alec for the night, as Izzy insisted they sleep apart as tradition would have it. With a soft sigh, he turned to Magnus, wrapping his arms around his waist, pulling him in for a kiss, one that he let linger so that his lips tingled.  “What’s the point in us sleeping apart? We are breaking tradition anyway.” He mumbled, not too keen to be sleeping separate from his Fiancé, they never slept apart anymore, it was such a foreign concept. His sister was adamant, sending Alec texts to start making his way to the institute. With a sigh, he stole one more kiss. “Isabelle is tracking me.” He shook his head at his sisters demands, knowing he wouldn’t win this one, so he gave in. “I love you. I will see you tomorrow.” Alec picked up the small bag, smiling at his lover. “Don’t be late.” And with that he left the loft that he now called his home.  Once he arrived at the institute, Izzy went over some last minute details before ushering him into his practically abandoned room, but it was still his room. Looking around the empty space nothing felt right, there were no ingredients for potions, no magic books, Magnus wasn’t in his view. He felt alone almost, like half of him was missing, it was the same feeling he had when Jace had gone missing.  Alec picked up a book and tried to settle down in bed, but the bed was too empty, too cold. He shifted uncomfortably, reading for about an hour, before laying down to try and sleep even though he knew it wasn’t likely he would get to sleep. Alec wasn’t used to sleeping alone anymore, and he tossed and turned in his bed, wondering if Magnus would just give up and portal to him. Hoping he would. @brooklynxmagic

It wasn't ideal, coming back to Magnus' place after receiving a wound in the field that an iratze could only do so much for. He knew Magnus worried. He had spent a couple of hours in the infirmary, which was the reason he was late coming back to the loft that night. Quickly scanning for Magnus and not seeing him in the main room, he slipped his boots off with a bit of a wince, knowing it was coming from his bruised ribcage where his ribs had been broken but now were only cracked.  Alec moved into the warm main room, glancing around once more, wondering if Magnus was even home.  @edomsmagnificent

Alec paced behind his desk, almost completely unaware that Isabelle had entered his office, even if he was expecting it. It seemed their mother had gone for the approach of telling them one by one. It was his hope to have some sort of answer for all of them by then, but it seemed that wouldn’t be the case, he didn’t even know where to start.  “Mom told you?” He finally breathed, stopping to look at his sister. The divorce was the right thing to do, but it did divide their family. Now, it was like they were being torn apart. “I don’t know if there is a way around it like there was for you.” Taking a seat in his chair, his head came to rest on his hands. “We need to do something, anything.” @pureheartedlightwood

There was a major change in Alec’s mood for reasons he didn’t even know. After a couple of weeks of having no motivation to work and feeling completely insignificant in everyones lives, he simply gave up. He put Jace in charge and for the past week he has been held up in the loft. He knew it was going to pass, these episodes of extreme lows always did. It was a question of when. A question of how much more he could take feeling useless, worthless, and responsible for everything that has gone wrong since the death of Clary’s mother.  Today, Alec didn’t pull himself out of the bed he shared with Magnus until about seven in the evening. The sun was dying bellow the horizon, and he was alone. With a sigh he ran his hand over his exhausted face, walked out onto the balcony. Perhaps fresh air would help, or watching the city his institute was tasked to protect. He placed his hands on the ledge, leaning forward a little bit, just looking out as the city lit up in the dark.

The mission was simple when compared to other missions Alec had been sent on with his parabatai. Orders from the clave were to round up the remaining circle members who had escaped the initial raids. All of them wanted alive or dead.  Get those two, I’ll be fine. Those were his exact words to his parabatai before Jace went running after the two who ran after spotting the pair. The first two were easy enough to take down, one arrow through the chest, he had caught the other in the leg, and again in the side when he tried to get up and run anyway.  Alec turned, the last man left knocked his bow from his hands with a kick. Otherwise unarmed, the only other option was hand on hand. He would come to regret sending Jace after the runners. One false move and a concealed seraph dagger was plunged into his abdomen taking his breath away like he had been punched in the stomach. Kicked in the chest to the ground, the dark eyed man loomed over him with a sickening smirk. The dagger was pulled out in a harsh yank and the face Alec would never forget disappeared. Leaving him to die.  @ofangelicblood

A soft smile graced Alec’s features, setting his bow and quiver up against the wall, stepping out of his boots. “That’s because I was wearing it yesterday around the loft.” He sat down on the bed beside him, drawing him into a kiss. “I’m sorry I’m late. Mission ran over.”
