“Here, Bowen.”

A plain white cup of tea was being placed on the table in front of the healing blond. Bowen’s wounds were still  pretty bad, so he was still in a healing process, with his casts on his arm & a bandage on his head.

To help the process, Maxie had been giving him tea, the leaves for it came from her world & was often given to the sick to help them heal. She really has been trying her hardest to take care of him. All during that while, the Hunter’s Guild had been dealing with her extended absence.

With no big dangers around, not having their S-Class hunter around wasn’t the biggest issue, though, they still needed to keep track of where she’s at & how long she’ll be away. Not to mention needing a way to contact her, in case something popped up suddenly. Such is where Sara come into play. The R.I.C would always send an official to get that information, & Sara was an official document recorder, so here she was, to gather the info that the Guild needed.

... And of course... learning about that inter dimensional phone.

She had experienced this world for over a week, there was a lot to teach her, not to mention a world without monsters torturing everyone, a world away from what people like her were used to. “I can imagine that, but of course for me, growing up with all this, I find all this simple in itself.”

“Well, of course it’s simple for you, you’ve been around this stuff your whole life. Unlike me & Sara.” Maxie had adjusted pretty well over the week she’s been here... expect that one time she was almost hit by a car, but she never told Bowen about that. She doesn’t want to make him worry.

“Do you two want to stick around for dinner, now that I’m used to stoves, I can cook much more efficiently.”

“Oh! I would like that... ah... as long as that’s okay with you, Bowen.”

Maxie had started missing the old holidays from her youth. Being able to have those old time come back for a little while warmed her heart... in this case, literally so.

“Here, I made a platter full of festival traditionals.”

... And boy, when it came to the festival's food, Maxie gave no quarter, which was no surprise. A whole plate filled with differing meats & cooked peppers, with plenty to go around!

Nervously, the Monster Hunter moved a bit closer to Bowen, fingers nervously tapping together, as she briefly looked at the blond male, before leaning closer to his head after a bit of time.

It was a cute sight, of the blonde & the pinkette, cuddling close together. Her head nuzzled against Bowen’s chest, with her hand curl against him too, & a blanket wrapped around them to keep their warmth between them. She normally rather stay home, with her sisters, but she choose to come see him at his home, she needs the time away from home, if only they could go outside however; like to his local park or something. If only she wasn’t literally invisible to everyone else’s eyes but his, so he wouldn’t look crazy to others when he talks to her & hugs her.

The normally loud & proud princess seemed to grow quiet for the moment, the feeling of the Bowen’s soft skin crossing over Alexstrasza’s hand, with his fingers lacing through her own. She was quiet, but the smile upon her face, as well as the blush, showed she was anything but unhappy. She was charmed a little TOO easily by his affections.

Sure, Leland can be a bit excessive in his jokes, but even he knew from this experience that Maxie’s food was impeccably good! The consensus of three were all in agreement, this was wonderful, Maxie was truly an amazing cook!

Bowen of course listened as Sara spoke of that pot of ramen Maxie made for her, Zacc and Vicki. Just with pre-packaged noodles and whatever she could find? Naturally his curiosity was piqued at that thought, though his idea of it might be different to reality, but still.

“Shame, I would have loved to have tried it to be honest!” He remarked, his bright smile returning.

“Hehe... it’s not something I’d recommend compared to normal ramen, but definitely better then what you’d expect for something made from random ingredients found in the wild.” She paused briefly, to bit into her sandwich again.

“It probably be easier to fish, in fact. Well... if your near a water source that has fish. In that instance we weren’t, so we had to make due with what was around camp.”

Centuries such a guild meant centuries of serious shit played out over so long.. and even more so as technology and knowledge improved their craft to such a degree. You could say that these were the real protectors of this world. If they can handle such immense creatures constantly, maybe they could really tackle anything.

He didn’t expect Maxie to turn shy at such a reaction. It was quite a feat in itself, even for him, whose job in itself was multiverse-saving missions, practically. Slight colour brought to his cheeks as he reached out to take her hand in his, with a smile of course.

“I think I’ve said that myself about my own work, but it’s.. still something I don’t think anybody else could ever do. You’re incredible, Maxie, coming up against monsters like this and.. still going at it.. no wonder you’re the best Hunter out there.” Or at least, the best Hunter to him, by miles at that.

Such would be reinforced, if he was ever told about that other experience she had, with an even more unforgettable being.

Centuries of serious shit, centuries of learning, centuries of being this world’s guardians. As much as the Hunter’s Guild was on top of everything... there were still some things hunters couldn’t handle. Namely every time some new strange creature showed up & started causing havoc. And that creature this time, was Nergigante.

Feeling him take her hand, it made the color in her cheeks brighten, his words only seemed to make it worse, but they managed to bring a smile to her face.

“Thank you.” Maxie wasn’t just the best hunter to Bowen, everyone in the Guild seemed to think the same. The only hunter superior to her was the man she called father, & many hunters thought it was high time that old man stepped down, & gave his adopted daughter the G-Rank title she deserved.

Especially after her more recent encounter.

A pause, as if taking a breath, before looking back to Abby, a smile returning to him.

Abby seemed to tilt her head then, giving Bowen a bit of an confused look. “Really? But you seem to nice & welcoming.”

“Ahhh! Really?!” She seemed to get a bit excited then, even standing up on the tips of her toes for a moment.

“That’s great! Ahah... I don’t really know anywhere worth going yet, but I’d be happy to go anywhere you want! Dinner, a movie, I don’t mind anything!”

“Then as you can see, there is no need to worry for me, for my village. I am here to protect my people. I owe it to them that their lives are kept safe. We are safe for the moment from those who wish to destroy us, but that will not be forever. I am sure people will try and find me, try to persuade me into some other goal, but in the end, they will not succeed. To take me away from my people, is an attack on the village itself, to expose it to those who wish to eradicate us all, in the name of such a blind 'Justice’. Do you.. want to be that person, young man? Do you want to be responsible for taking away such a protector, of such lives and livelihoods? You seem like a man who wants to save lives, not ruin them, are you not?”

“Good & evil are only relative terms, which can only be applied to people, to that which is capable of thought, just like peace & destruction. Elements are not capable of thought, it is all dependent on whose who wield those elements.” Good & evil are, after all, different in every person’s eyes, as are peace & destruction. Each person has their own way of thinking, & could see things differently to the person next to them. If only everyone knew this, many things would be better in the world... but that’s food for thought at a different time.

And soon,Tsukuyomi was holding onto her husband’s arm closely, with a smile that could only be described as sweet. Like a wife’s eternal love.

“Correction, we are both here to protect our people, as we have for centuries. Isn’t that correct, my love?” Tsukuyomi would never once let Lucius believe he was alone in his life’s struggles. She was with him in the past, she is with him now, & she will always be with him, forever.

Well, considering what they did have, it wouldn’t be hard to get a pan fry going.. and they probably had experimented with that stuff in the past. He didn’t really know, he never looked into it.

But indeed, you didn’t want the smell to attract such beasts that have a tendency to break into houses.

Bowen found his smile growing, into quite the grin, upon that statement. “Oh, you’re in for a real treat!” He exclaimed, bringing the bucket to her. “KFC chicken isn’t like most fried chicken. Most you get pan or deep fried. They use what’s called a pressure fryer, really good stuff. It’s meant to keep the meat tender, but the skin is crispy and specially seasoned. I mean, the skin really is the best part, but put it with actual chicken and you get.. heh, a taste of Heaven!”

Or so he says. No bias. Really, no bias.

Oh yeah. They’ll break into houses if a strong smell hits their noses. Elisa would know, she’s seen beasts do crazy stuff to get to food before.

“A pressure fryer? Don’t think Bladena has those.” She commented. Elisa could admit, the bucket smelled good, that nice cooked chicken smell that she liked. “A taste of Heaven? Hmm....” She could of made a bad joke with that statement of his, but she kept her mouth shut. “Alright. I give it a try.” She started to pick a piece of chicken from the bucket to try for herself.

Best to ease Selene’s precious mind. Tenma had to keep her innocence, even from the problems of this work. The world was meant to be a happy place.. and she deserved to have such a happy perspective.

But hey, the subject took quite a sharp turn into something else, with the subject now on Bowen and Ama.. or rather, their union… their marriage. Yeah, of course that would make him blush too.

“Ah, of course! I’ve been hoping you and I could have some time to sort it all out together.” He replied, his smile turning shy. “I’ve… I’ve had a few thoughts about how to have it too..”

Clean up the mess, maybe one day take the crown if such a mess was becoming too much, who knows? Ahhh, wishful thinking maybe. He moved so Proserpina could reach the basket easier. “Mmm, you know I love our ‘excitement’, baby.”

“W-well... dad said he’d... like us to starting writing down our plans, & making the guest list for the invitations.” Ama started blushing deeply, the thought of having to start planning for a wedding was a bit embarrassing. Though they’ve been arranged to marry for years, she never thought she would actually be getting married one day.

“Obviously, ufuf~” Well, that was the original idea, wasn’t it? As much as Proserpina loved her sister, she didn’t think she’d be able to handle that mess that was going to be dumped on her, should she take the crown like was expected of her. Which is why these two had to plan to be in that position to fix it themselves.
