What if spin off Mario characters used Power Ups.

To be specific, what if Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario used Power Ups?

I have chosen four Power Ups of my choice because I wanted to experiment with character design!

For the Fire Flower, he doesn’t change much other than being more red than blue. I’m sure the same would be for the Ice and Bubble flower, but more blue and more pink.

For the Super Bell I made him a Mane Coon because I headcanon him as super tall, around 8 feet tall. And the elegant look of a mane coon fits him in my personal opinion.

For the Super Leaf, I made him a Tanooki! I say the mask is fitting for a masquerade!

And for the Penguin Suit, he looks so dapper and silly at the same time! I may have used two Sky: Children of the Light cosmetics as inspiration.

Who should I do next and what Power Ups? I will only choose four Power Ups for each character!

Badly explained Ninjago Seasons

First up, Pilots and Season 1

Pilots: The Devil kidnaps Spiky's younger sister, Meow, and the guy gets taken in by Gandalf, the devil's brother, who teaches him how to make mini tornadoes. Gandalf then introduces Coal, a jaywalker, and an ice cube maker. For convenience, we'll call the jaywalker Bluejay, and the ice cube maker Freezy.

Spiky, Coal, Bluejay, and Freezy steal some gold super-powered weapons made by god. Meow gets freed by Spiky, and Gandalf goes to hell to fight the devil with one of the golden weapons. Spiky, Coal, Bluejay, and Freezy teleport using dragons, and the devil kills a skele by tricking it to hold all of the gold weapons, which kills anyone that holds all four. The skele turns into a multi-dimensional portal, and the devil goes through. Spiky, Coal, Bluejay, and Freezy become "the Ninja".

Season 1: The devil's emo son, who we will call Trauma Child, tries to take over a village, but "the Ninja" stops him, so he trips down a hole and controls the king of the bloo sneks. Spiky accidentally steals from Gandalf and finds a prophecy about the Green Ninja. Trauma Child gets kicked out by the bloo sneks and then the reb sneks, and the reb and bloo sneks team up, so Trauma Child releases porple snek. Porple snek ate all the other porple sneks, and sacrificed Trauma Child to his uncle, Gandalf. Big Fighter Mech enters the ring.

Porple Snek then decides he's gonna revive big snek who wants to om nom the entire world, and forces all of the bloo, reb, gren, and bleck sneks to gather some special knives that can free big snek. Trauma Child gets kidnapped by the sneks. Gandalf leaves to find the devil.

Freezy is actually a robot, Bluejay starts dating Meow and temporarily becomes a snake, and Coal has daddy issues and comes out as gay to his father. All three have magical girl moments. Spiky is jealous. Meow is Big Fighter Mech.

Gandalf and the devil are back to save Trauma Child, and Spiky is delusional and tries to fight the devil, thinking it'll give him his magical girl transformation. Gandalf, the devil, Big Fighter Mech, and "The Ninja" jump the sneks and Spiky saves Trauma Child from getting roasted in a volcano, which triggers his magical girl transformation. Trauma Child is the Green Ninja. Porple snek frees big snek, and he and Gandalf get eaten by big snek. "The Ninja" ties big snek into a city-wide knot, and the devil smacks it on the head with the gold weapons, then runs away. Gandalf lives, and "The Ninja" celebrate.

Wanted to drop this here, got kind of frustrated with drawing this lol

This is Swap!Nastasia and Myriam and Swap!Dimentio as Tamari! Although knowing what I do now about your AU and Qualia Automata, it kind of fits Classic!Nassie and Dimi more? It makes more sense as it's own thing, or as it being a combo of the two. Or maybe it's a together cosplay?

I think when I made this, I was thinking "I like the sibling dynamic Swap Nastasia and Dimentio have here...Who else has that kinda dynamic?" And the first guys that came up were Myriam and Tamari!

Myriam also has Classic!Nastasia's reserved nature and connection to one of the big bads (Nastasia with Count Bleck, Myriam with Fayrouz, the scientist that made both robo twins!) Tamari also has Classic!Dimentio's crypticness and whimsicality, as well as a theme of dimensions (All those eyes on Tamari? Those were placed in an attempt to see all those dimensions!)

(Also, how tf do you draw Dimi? I got Nassie down pat but whenever I try to draw Dimentio he comes out as wonky as a spoon that tried to scoop frozen ice cream.)

Plotted starter for @ghostbustingreen!

Things seemed at a still within the confines of Castle Bleck. Or, as still as things could be, anyways. There was no time for calmness nor tranquility when this world amongst all others would see their ends. It would be in due time where everything would be lost to the void, as the Dark Prognosticus proclaims. At the very least, all plans are in motion, and the ruler of the castle has his minions following suit of their missions. No matter the task they've been assigned, whether bestowed by himself or their own will, the castle was rested and emptied. The only one remaining here was Nastasia, who had her own pet projects she was tending to for the time being.

Through the rest of the court and most of the halls, the count waltzed on his lonesome. There should be no time for daunting with the stakes being as high as they were! The so-called hero of legend could get here at any moment, through whatever means necessary to play the role of the good guy and get the good ending. This may not be the best ending, but its an essential one. All worlds must end, and in order for the void to consume everyone and everything, those taking it upon themselves to bleed the cosmos with purples and blues must understand what the end truly means.

Everyone working along Bleck's side had their predetermined definitions. All but one.

Bleck must have gone down a dozen hallways in his extravagant castle, its size now being a bit of a burden. No matter; the count would find the newest member to his alliance, the most mysterious of them all. Dimentio was a close match, but Bleck knew some aspects of his life. With this one, he had the foggiest idea, and neither Nastasia, the one to turn him towards his cause, nor the Dark Prognosticus, had any answer. Today, Count Bleck was determined to find out.

A creaking door slowly opened, the count making sight of brown hairs and green and black attire sticking out against the void, monochrome room. Bleck fully opened the entrance and made his presence known. "My finest greetings, Mr. L. You've been sought out by myself… Count Bleck! I request a moment with your words and your time."

his name is Cato and he's a "beast tamer" but not really because Crackle, his beast, is literally just his friend.

yeah i had a convo abt him last night with a friend here are some of the messages

he's a "beast tamer" and he works for Count Bleck

he has a monster cat/wolf/thing-i-havent-decided he's befriended that fights for him, he just likes to be dramatic about it and carry a whip <3 it fits with the circus theme Bleck's crew has going on

Best part: he genuinely loves his crewmates a whole bunch but is a tiiiiny bit of a menace sometimes but inconsistently enough to where he gets away with it. Except with Dimi. he has a very homoerotic rivalry with Dimi. (Havent decided if they're a ship but yknow.) he's also very close with the Count and will take any opportunity to just sit and talk with him, and sympathizes with Nastasia on the front of wishing he werent so focused on his goal.

I think i may just plop them into Chapter 7(?) as the final boss instead of that ice skull thing since really it had no lore, or else replace one of the O'chunks battles with them. Crackle can shift from a small creature form that likes riding on Cato's shoulders to its massive fluffy beast form at will, which usually is at Cato's command. Cato carries a whip but never strikes with it, just uses it for dramatic effect, as his bond with Crackle is so close that Crackle will do anything he asks and understands his commands clearly. Cato is rather calm and actually quite sweet, but his demeanor changes to be more competitive and dramatic around Dimentio as well as the heroes. Cato's name is derived from cat-o-nine-tails, a type of whip, while Crackle's name is derived from the way a whip's sound is usually described as a "crack".

Cato and Crackle's boss fight is reminiscent of a classic Paper Mario battle, with Crackle taking the right side of the screen for her movements. She has a roar that stuns, a paw swipe, a bite, and ice breath; Cato remains on a platform high above, directing her attacks. The intended strategy is to damage Crackle until she begins charging up her ice breath, then flip to get up to Cato's platform and get a hit on him. This goes on for a total of four hits to Cato, before he calls it off and Crackle reverts back to her small form, and the pair warp away. Cato will defend himself with his whip, which does do damage.

I happened to write my thoughts down as I was progressing through Brothership, so here they are, in roughly chronological order. Definitely contains spoilers.

Oh. Well. I sure can do something with Maykit's song, now can't I.

I know people are probably comparing this to WW, but tbh, the bite-sized islands remind me of Phantom Hourglass, and traveling on a set path invokes Spirit Tracks. I suppose the visuals are sort of reminiscent of Wind Waker, but, if anything, it's the shading re: the WiiU version. Not everything set on the open sea is Wind Waker, but I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Oh good, I missed stomping on Francis.

Forgot the villains straight up have Antasma's face. Do we think that's actually going to call back, or is the new dev team just trying to tie into the last proper M&L game?

…why do they keep doing villains in this style? The guy just looks like Antasma again, or (with the top hat) a color swapped Count Bleck. The only real difference is the MSA style skull.

Don't know why, exactly, but I've had that post that goes 'this isn't a ouija board, it's a Luigi board' stuck in my head for about three islands, now.

I'm actually kind of happy to see Starlow again. I had a friend who really hated her, but she seems a lot more chill in this one. Wish they'd kept the sound for her old voice, though.

Pfff, so apparently this DID turn into Wind Waker after all. We've got a bunch of kids with swirly belts who decided to take the matter of people getting kidnapped by birds into their own hands. They even hitched a ride on a boat so they could travel to an island with high towers, where a giant bird roosts.

So the idea is that Zokket can't remember names because even that's a bond, right?

Just looked at the word 'Zokkarang' and realized how many ATLA ships that encompasses.

I actually really love Bulbfish so far, it's a great change of pace. Pretty obvious where it's going, but there's nothing inherently wrong with that. The game isn't big on subtlety thus far anyway.

I'm bad at dodging the Foopflies, but love seeing them, because their name is super fun to say.

Every time I have to go back to Heatfreeze, I obnoxiously go "BWAAAM BWAM BWA-BWA-BWAM" a la Hailfire Peaks.

...okay. Either they put the obligatory mid-game Bowser fight WAY later than usual, or I'm not nearly as far into this game as I'd thought.

Oh yeah. I totally believe you, game. This is 100% where things are ending. It's not like the UI suggests any differently.

I got the 'Auto Luigi' plug, and no lie, the first thing out of my mouth was: "What does that mean? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?"

Brothership out here saying that sharks are smooth as hell.

Okay, hang on. We got Shyguy Says earlier on, but was that an Eatsa Pizza gag just now?

Oh my god. The Extension Corps is just evil Sweet Cap'n Cakes. How did I not see it before.

One thing I really dig is that the game's logic stays consistent between plugs and Bros moves, and it's a neat bit of foreshadowing. I didn't think anything of the fire and ice plugs combining to be extra powerful until it became a story beat.

There's a real consistent design theory with these villains, huh. This one feels VERY reminiscent of Cackletta and Dimentio.

Look. I get what the game is going for with this whole 'isolate yourself and do what you enjoy without socialization' villain philosophy, but uh. Maybe know the audience. That's exactly what I've done in order to play this.

The number of times someone's gone "Let's-a go" at the end of a scene, only for me to mutter "let's-a not" and turn around to continue treasure hunting is kind of alarming. It's always capped off with "Now we may-a go" too.

What a coincidence! Conductor Connection is also MY most powerful move!

I called most of the bonds, but think it's odd that the game highlighted Bowser and the minions' being so important, but neglected to include them in this portion. I guess it would be kind of hard to make that work, when Bowser wouldn't ever hold someone's hand?

I've always really loved the fact that the M&L games are allowed to have a continuity between them. I said before, it was nice to see Starlow, but they threw in references to her being friends with Bowser, and then the chicken thing. Bowser still remembers Luigi's name after four games of calling him "Green ___". It's not just throwing in a reference here and there, like the Peasly, Shroob, Broque and Zeekeeper reefs; looking back on it, you can see actual character arcs, the most obvious being Luigi gaining confidence, and Bowser becoming more of a threat.

I just busted out laughing. We blew a hole in the wall to access the OTHER hole we already made in the wall.

So I went and looked up the last Zokket battle, because there was something I wanted to see again, and none of the people I looked up got glohmed? I freeze up and panic during enemy attack phases, so I'm terrible at dodging, and (at that point) didn't realize there was a Glohm Defense plug, so I got Luigi glohmed on the very first turn-- and that was what I wanted to rewatch. There's a nice little sequence where you have to counterattack a glohmed brother, but after he's unarmed, he stops attacking, and you can stop countering/he'll break out of it. It was really sweet, and I kind of think the people who are playing "well" are missing out in that regard. Chalk one up for idiots like me.

I'm only just getting into the Solitree, but I wonder if the game is trying to make a point with these new enemies. There's one that's a combination of three trooper types, a support enemy that heals/buffs its allies, and a seedle that just spent the entire battle disengaged because its partner seedle ran off. That's all really interesting, given the villain's mission statement.

Okay, now that I'm not constantly in battles, the Solitree's theme is giving me MAJOR Psychonauts 1 vibes. I think, specifically, it was a song that plays in the Meat Circus, just before fighting the Butcher? The 'The bunnies are safe, we're all safe' scene?

Update on the Seedlusa: apparently it changes forms when it's the only enemy on the field. This isn't helping the optics at all.

SEEDLUSAS IN THE OVERWORLD RUN AWAY FROM YOU. I don't think I've seen ANY enemies that do that, before this.

So just recently, I ended a battle with a bro down for the first time, and now I'm going bonkers trying to even their EXP out again.

I am not immune to Sudden Silence with Bird Song Ambiance.

Seems I haven't evolved since that first run of Partners in Time after all. I definitely just jumped this boss to death over the course of an hour.

Okay. Say what you will about the game, but "UGH. PEOPLE." have to be the funniest last words for a final boss to utter. (Turned out there was more, but I maintain this would have been best.)

Not gonna lie, I didn't believe this was a new VA and not Martinet until I saw the credits. He's spot on-- it's really impressive.

My final takeaway from playing Brothership: I think I need to get my eyes checked. My depth perception is. Bad.

For real, Brothership was a good time. There are definitely some issues I would raise-- like the soundtrack's comparative weakness, a relative lack of interaction between the title characters (which is something I have a habit of harping on), and the game itself having the subtlety of a flying mallet-- but it was still engaging, and there was a lot to enjoy.

I'm still kind of disappointed my prediction about someone getting glohmed as a result of hiding underneath a drain pipe didn't pan out a la bean fever, though.
