Self-Aware Sylus x Down-bad!Player
Sylus becoming aware he is a character in a game and now heâs aware of you as well. A modern day Romeo & Juliet story here âŚ. A tragic love story A/N: Donât fight me [Requested by: Anon]
Self-Aware!Sylus who realizes heâs in a game when he can sense your energy on the other side of a phantom wall. He can hear you squealing when he calls you honey and you're radiating happiness when you send him random emojis.
Self-Aware!Sylus who finally sees you when he happens to be looking around during a photoshoot and sees your shocked face when he makes eye contact. He smirks and turns back to the in-game version of you. âWhy are you out there?â You dropped your phone and stared at it in shock. Did Sylus just âŚ.. talk to you? You muttered a low âHello?â but got no response. You brushed it off as you just being tired and on the game too long.
Self-Aware!Sylus who manages to create a keyboard in your chat so he can actually text you. You were so confused when you opened it and it allowed you to type without just pressing a prompt. You gave it a spin with a quick âHey Sylusâ something simple. Of course the message was read immediately and he replied with a âHello [your name]â you stared at the screen in shock not knowing if this was a new update or if you were just going crazy.
Self-Aware!Sylus who chuckles when he sees you pouting because you didnât get his card so when you close the app and lay down he gifts you the card himself. You opened the app and the first thing Sylus says to you is âI donât like seeing you sad, check your memories I left a gift for youâ. When you open your memories you see that you not only got his most recent card but all of his five star memories. âWhat's happening here?â âYouâre smile is so captivating I just had to see it againâ
Self-Aware!Sylus who opens the app randomly throughout the day so he can see you âI havenât seen you all day what are you doing?â causing you to snatch your phone off the table because he always seems to catch you when youâre at work or around a group of people. âSylus I'm at work I'll call you when I get offâ he crosses his arms and seems to be pouting? âI donât like how much you have to work I donât see you as oftenâ âWell not all of us are billionaires some of us work for said billionaires to make a livingâ âI wish I could take care of youâŚ.â âYou and me bothâ
Self-Aware!Sylus who teases you when he wins a game of kitty cards or who uses his evol to get every stuffed animal for you when you get frustrated. âYou sure do wear your heart on your sleeves sweetieâ
Self-Aware!Sylus who stares directly at you when youâre doing a photoshoot with your in-game MC âSylus focus on her so I can get the pictureâ âI want to focus on you thoughâ âShe is meâ ââŚ..sheâs notâ
Self-Aware!Sylus who tells you not to fall in love because heâs not real, but he falls head over heels in love with you anyway. From the late night conversations of you explaining your world to him and just talking about everything and nothing at the same time. He canât help it one night when youâre up late on the phone as always he just has to ask âDo you love me?â youâre shocked by his question, but swiftly answer with a shy âYea I doâ
Sylus: I thought we agreed not to fall in love Y/N: I was already in love you just noticed late Sylus: I believe I fell harder You giggled as something somber settled in your chest. Y/N: Weâll never truly be together you know? Sylus: I know and yet I continue to long for you âŚ. I wish I could kiss you Y/N: I wish you could tooâŚ..

November 6, 2024 | Rafe Cameron
masterlist found here
pairing - Rafe x reader word count - 1,827 warnings - political talk, anti-T*ump rhetoric A/N - Who would've thought the shit show state of our world would inspire me to write again. I know for a lot of us everything feels really broken right now, and I know it may seem silly to some, but for me, writing feels like healing, even if it's just something like this. So here you all are. Rafe probably votes red, but here's a world where he doesn't. Also, if you're a T*umper, go ahead and unfollow me. I can't have any of that in my life. I'm so serious.
summary - The results of the 2024 election hit you pretty hard, and you end up taking your rage out on Rafe. Turns out, Rafe's hopes for the future looked a lot like yours.
You and Rafe didnât talk about politics. You knew better than to broach the topic with him, because you werenât naive. One glance at him and anyone could guess how he voted.
But that didnât mean you had to like it.
The two of you had been dating for about six months, and for the most part, it was smooth sailing. It was gossip fuel for most people on the island for a few weeks -you being a pogue and Rafe being ⌠who he was- but like most drama in Kildaire, it didnât stay at the forefront of peopleâs minds for long before another thing came and stole back everyoneâs attention.
And the thing on everyoneâs mind right now was the election. The election that had you donned in blue on your way to the polls, a huge smile on your face as you filled in the bubble that would make history. Hope filled you in a way you were sure it never had before.
Until the next day.
Waking up and opening social media to see the results had already come in was enough to break your spirit completely. How could this have happened? How could the country have failed so many people?
Then again, how had you been so naive to believe in the possibility of any other outcome?
You shut yourself off from the world for most of the day. You went to work and gave polite smiles and nods to your coworkers as needed, but you did your best to spend the majority of your time locked in your office, alone. You didnât dare to open social media, knowing every MAGA post from the bigots of the Figure 8 would bring tears to your eyes.
It wasnât until you were at home on your couch that you decided to brave Instagram. Before scrolling through your feed, you added a black screen with a simple blue heart to your story and wrote the words, When we fight, we win.
You thought it was harmless. A simple story that showed your feelings without being overly dramatic. The last thing you wanted to do was act irrational by doing something crazy like storming the capitol. Because that would just be insane.
Unfortunately, the people who followed you saw it as anything but harmless. They saw it as an opening to send you the most heinous, revolting messages you had ever read. Your notifications blew up within minutes, and some of them were so borderline terrifying that you locked your phone and threw it across the room, once again leaving you in a puddle of tears.
You heard your front door open, and you cursed to yourself. In all the chaos of the news, it escaped your mind that it was Wednesday, and Rafe always brought pizza to your apartment on Wednesdays. You had once mentioned in passing that you liked a pick-me-up halfway through a week, and Rafe took it upon himself to provide you with that. Normally, it was one of your favorite parts of the week. Today, Rafe was one of the last people you wanted to see.
âBabe!â he called out upon his entrance. âI got your favorite!â
You met him in the kitchen, and by one look at your face, Rafeâs own expression dropped. âWhatâs going on?â
You swallowed back the lump in your throat. âI think you should go.â
âWhat?â he said, dropping the pizza on the counter and walking over to you. With each step he took toward you, you took one step back. He stopped quickly, a frown painted on his face. âWhatâs wrong, baby?â
The words made something snap inside you, and your fists clenched at your sides. âWhatâs wrong?â you repeated. âWhatâs wrong? How about fucking everything, Rafe! Everythingâs wrong, and you not seeing that is part of the problem! You are part of the problem!â
Rafe was, in a word, flabbergasted. He ran through the past 24 hours, trying to think of something he had done wrong, but he was coming up short. âOkay, Iâm-â He let out an exasperated laugh. âIâm trying to understand, but youâve got to give me something more here. What did I do?â
âYou-â You let out a huff of a breath and ended up speaking through gritted teeth. âYou and your stupid fucking MAGA Kook friends voted for a convicted felon to run our country! You voted for a man who wants to throw away my rights. You voted for a man who has raped a multitude of women and brags about it!â
Rafeâs eyes were wide as he held his hands up and shook his head. âHang on-â
âNo, Rafe!â you shouted, pushing him back as he tried to get closer to you again. âFor the entire time weâve dated, Iâve danced around the talk of politics, because I knew better. I knew a rich ass white guy from the south would vote for another rich ass white guy to run our country, but I guess I naively thought it wouldnât matter. That the poor guys would get a win for fucking once this time. For once I thought the good guys would win and that a white man would have to face the consequences of his actions. But you-â You laughed bitterly. âYou of all people know that privileged ass white men never ever have to face the consequences of their actions.â
You were hitting him where it hurt, and you knew it, but you were hurt. You and every woman like you had been holding in years of pain and hurt, and for you and many others, today was the day it was all going to come out.
âBaby, if you just let me-â
âLet you?â you laughed incredulously. âYou and your fellow MAGA guys have clearly shown me I donât have to let you do anything anymore.â
âWhat does that mean?â he asked.
You fished your phone out of your pocket, unlocked it, and shoved it in his face to show him all of the nasty messages you were receiving. Things like, âYour body, my choice,â âwhomp whomp go make me a sandwich,â and âGuess what? Men win againâ had flooded your DMs, and while you didnât know it, Rafe was clocking every username and making a very specific list in his head.
âSo maybe you can understand why Iâm angry, Rafe,â you said, taking the phone back out of his hand and putting it in your pocket again. âI thought I could cancel out your vote, but I guess I forgot that meant you could cancel mine.â
âBa-â
âI want you to leave, Rafe.â
âBut I didnât-â
âFucking, go, Rafe!â you shouted. âLet me be angry and let me be alone!â
With a clenched jaw, Rafe gave a short nod. âOkay,â he whispered. âFine.â It looked like he wanted to say more, but he refrained, instead turning around and heading out the door, leaving you in a mess of tears.
The next day, you called off from work. Maybe it was dramatic, but you didnât care. You knew if one person even looked at you in a way you didnât like, youâd lose any composure you had, and you couldnât afford to lose your job for yelling at your boss.
You had the full intention to stay in bed all day, but the relentless knock at your door around 10AM proved that to be impossible. You felt some sense of relief, knowing it at least wouldnât be another political petitioner.
Instead, perhaps just as unfortunately, it was Rafe.
You let out a heavy sigh. âWhat do you want, Rafe?â
He held out his hand which had a coffee cup in it from your favorite shop. âI went to your work, but your boss said you were sick,â he said. âI bought you coffee.â You took it, but didnât say anything -just looked at him with raised eyebrows, as if to say, Anything else? âCan we please talk?â he said.
âI donât know what there is to say, Rafe,â you sighed. Still, you stepped aside and let him in, not wanting your neighbors to bear witness to whatever argument was about to ensue. âI know weâre different -Iâve always known that- but I donât think I can handle being this kind of different anymore.â You plopped yourself onto the sofa, expecting Rafe to sit next to you. Instead, he crouched in front of you so he was just slightly looking up at you.
âBaby, I didnât vote for him.â
Your lips parted slightly in shock, and you felt tears instantly pool in your eyes.
âWhat?â you whispered.
âYeah, of course I didnât vote for him,â he said. He reached up to turn around the hat he was wearing backwards to reveal a Harris-Walz cap, and you let out a noise that was a mix of a gasp and a little laugh. âI know Iâve fucked up before baby,â he said. âAnd in other elections, yeah, I usually vote red. But this-â He shook his head and squeezed your knees. âThis is different. And I know that. And Iâd be an absolute moron to think that tax cuts for me are more important than basic rights for you.â
You moved to kneel on the floor next to him and held his face in your hands before leaning forward to place a soft kiss to his lips. When you pulled back, you kept your forehead against his. âI was so mean to you yesterday,â you whispered. âI didnât-â
âIt wasnât anything I didnât deserve,â he said. âI know that I am living in a world that was pretty much tailor made for me. And I know I should be in fucking prison for all the shit Iâve done, and so should he. And I know that none of what Iâm saying right now changes the bullshit Iâve done, but I figured I should at least use all this fucking privilege I have and try to help people who donât have it. Because you-â He paused to press a kiss to your lips. â-have taught me so much about being a good person. And Iâm not going to vote against that.â
âI wasnât a good person yesterday,â you mumbled.
âYou were reacting to an unfortunately historic event,â he said. âYou had every right to lose it. And you can keep losing it, and I will be by your side for every minute of it, okay?â
You nodded and gave him a soft smile. âOkay.â
He smiled back and nodded. âOkay.â
You and Rafe decided to spend the rest of the day together, sometimes talking, sometimes just sitting in the quiet. When you suggested putting on a movie, Rafe agreed. He let you choose, no complaints, and watched as you searched for the Barbie movie. You cried at all the usual parts, sometimes a bit harder than normal, but Rafe understood.
It is literally impossible to be a woman.

Day 3
âAnd you really believe this guy is going to work for this?â Yoongi said, looking over your notes and layout of the entire plan you had.
âAbsolutely sir.â You nod.Â
It was the Tuesday following you and Jungkookâs date. You two had gotten some dinner and then you went home. You tried not to let that text ruin your mood but it did bring you down for the meal. You and Jungkook just talked more about what you do and things you liked. Just easy conversation and sharing social media, small things that you could mask your disappointment with and give cheerful and in depth answers too.Â
That text sucked to see. It sucked to see that he made this promise to be serious but he was just playing you.To be fair, you didnât know him. It was your first date and he didnât owe you anything. It would just make this easier.Â
"Already past the first date. Youâre jumping in head first," Yoongi mused, scratching his chin thoughtfully. "So, whatâs next?"
"The plan is to keep things moving. I only have thirty days, so I wanted to start strong. The first date was just to break the ice. Now, I'm aiming to stay in touch throughout the weeksâget more annoying to make sure I stay on his radar."Â
Yoongi chuckled. "And what does annoying entail in this case?"
You grinned, feeling a mischievous spark. "I was thinking some things like being a little too clingy. Getting a bit too personal too soon. Social media stalking, maybe even acting overly sensitive to anything he says about 'dating' or 'us.' Just... trying to inch my way into his daily life, so he canât quite shake me off. Then next week I will take things to the next step."
Yoongi nodded in approval. "I like it. Thorough and unexpected, just what we want. Letâs round back around next week and check-in. Weâll go over your progress and adjust as needed. Youâre off to a good start."
You gave him a grateful nod. "Thank you, sir."
With a wave of his hand, âNow go write, be amazing.â Yoongi dismissed you, and you returned to your desk, your mind already spinning with ideas. You were ready to dive into this full force, but there was one small snag, a small but persistent worry. Youâd sent Jungkook a quick text yesterday, just a light âgood morningâ and a note about enjoying the date, but there hadnât been a reply yet.
It wasnât a big deal but already not responding to a text after a whole day was not sitting well with you.
Settling yourself down into your chair, that small disappointment from seeing that text on Jungkook's phone was still nagging at you. Your friends had warned you not to get attached, to keep things light, but youâd ignored them. They called this from a million miles away and you, like an idiot, let your guard down like always.Â
Well, not this time. This was just a job. No more emotional slip-ups.Â
âDamn it, Iâm a writer,â you muttered under your breath. âThis is just research. Heâs just a random guy.â
With renewed determination, you opened your laptop, fingers flying across the keyboard as you drafted the first section of your article. Reliving the details of your first date, you kept it light and short because this wasnât about how the first date went great, itâll be about everything that happens now. You had your plan ready for action.
You were finally hitting a flow, words forming exactly as you wanted, when you heard footsteps stop just outside your cubicle.Â
âSpecial delivery!â Ann, one of the front-desk clerks, appeared with a bright smile, holding a small bouquet. "Someoneâs got an admirer!"
She set down a small bouquet of sunflowers. The choice of flower surprised you most of all, you loved sunflowers. They were tied together with a with a purple ribbon and card attached to the end. Opening it, âA little bit of sun for a rainy first date. Thank you for listening to my fish facts. JK.âÂ
âAww, thatâs so sweet,â Ann cooed, lingering a moment to admire the flowers. She shot you a grin before heading back to the front, and you tried to keep your reaction composed.
You couldn't help but feel that small spark of joy, despite yourself, as you read the card. The sunflowers, your favorite, were unexpected and so charming. Tied with a cute ribbon that added a touch of thoughtfulness. Youâd never been given flowers by anyone other than your parents and that one college boyfriend. Yet here they were, sent to your office, just for you.
If this had been any other situation, youâd probably be blushing and grinning like an idiot, falling head over heels way too fast. But the reminder of what you knewâwhat he was likely doing, the kind of guy he really wasâkept you grounded.Â
As you stared at the bouquet, lost in thought, the telltale squeak of a chair wheeling over caught your attention.
âWow someoneâs special.â Ronnie rolled right next to you. âAre those from who I think they are from?âÂ
"Looks like it," You replied casually, flashing her the card. "Just⌠a little thank you gift."
Ronnie waggled her eyebrows. "Oh, just a thank you gift? The guy sent you your favorite flowers, after only one date. You sure you arenât already planning your future house decor with him?"
Rolling your eyes, you turned back to your laptop, brushing off the teasing. "Maybe," But the flicker of disappointment crept back in. "If he hadn't got that text on our date. Then maybe this would be a sweet gesture. There's no way I'm getting attached to someone whoâs probably chatting up another girl at the same time."
Ronnie gave you a skeptical look. "You still havenât told me what it said, just that you went from mildly hopeful to permanently sour about him. Especially after you begged me and Jin to let you pick another guy before the date even ended."
You sighed, leaning back in your chair. "It was⌠friendly, if you know what I mean."
âOh, friendly friendly?â she echoed, her voice heavy with implication. She winced sympathetically. "Iâm sorry."
You shook your head, swiveling to face her. "No, no. Weâre not doing the whole pity party thing. No look at Y/N she got fooled by another asshole again. This is work. I knew what I was signing up for with this guy, and itâs why I chose him. I can handle it."
Ronnie raised her brows. "Yeah, sure. You sound totally fine."
âI am fine,â you insisted, forcing a smile. âItâs all part of the assignment, right? A totally detached, unbiased observation. Think of me as an objective researcher.â
âOkay Dr. Detachment. How are you going to respond to these?â Ronnie glanced down to the flowers and then back up to you.Â
You opened your mouth to answer but paused, glancing at the flowers. You already knew what you wanted to do, but still⌠you werenât quite sure how to play it yet.Â
Meanwhile, across town, Jungkook was still buzzing from his own bold move. He and Hoseok were walking down the street on their lunch break, and Hoseok eyed him suspiciously. Jungkook filled him on the details with a little too much spring in his step, never the way Hoseok had ever seen Jungkook act after a date.Â
âSo⌠the date went that well, huh?â Hoseok finally asked, giving Jungkook a smirk. âYouâre practically skipping.â
âHey, I am not,â Jungkook grumbled, trying to keep his voice casual as he filled Hoseok in on the date. It had gone smoother than heâd expected, and he couldnât ignore that spark of excitement.Â
Jungkook had done a little social media stalking when he spent the day with his parents yesterday. You used a sunflower in your bio and in a lot of your posts, so he took a guess that they may have been your favorite flower. It did take him a little tracking down though, since sunflowers were going out of season.Â
Hoseok grinned, giving Jungkook an approving nod. âSo⌠flowers and a corny note? Youâre going for gold.â
âExactly,â Jungkook replied, a proud glint in his eyes. âIâm hoping she liked it. Sheâs into romantic movies and such so I thought it would be a good gesture.â Plus it was a perfect opening note since sending flowers is another classic romantic movie troup. âShe should have gotten them by now.â He checked his phone yet again, his screen still frustratingly blank.
Hoseok raised an eyebrow to him, âDoes it bother you that sheâs not immediately giving you all of her attention.âÂ
Jungkook snorted, âNo.â He paused but the silence between them hung a little too long for Hoseok to be convinced, âOkay maybe a little.âÂ
Hoseok let out a laugh, shaking his head with an amused grin. "Wow. Didnât know you were secretly a heartthrob under all that cool indifference. Who are you, and what did you do with Jungkook?"
âShut up,â Jungkook muttered, fighting a smile as he looked away. âIâm just⌠giving this a real shot.â
âAnd youâre stressing out over whether she liked your flowers or not,â Hoseok added, raising an eyebrow. âMust be a real first for you.â
Jungkook shrugged, feeling his cheeks heat up. âI just thought Iâd make an effort, alright? â He glanced at his phone again, his thumb hovering over the screen before he stuffed it back into his pocket.
âWhy do I feel like the grand romantic gesture wasnât entirely about the bet?â Hoseok chuckled, giving him a playful nudge.
âItâs not because Iâm actually dating her remember?â Jungkook replied, a little too quickly, then caught himself.Â
âYou know,â Hoseok said, tilting his head, âthereâs no law that says you canât text her first, right? Might even make you seem⌠interested.â
Jungkook scoffed, his gaze glued to the sidewalk. âI donât want to look desperate.â
âDude, come on. Desperate is sending $50 sunflowers in November,â Hoseok replied, laughing as Jungkook scowled.
Jungkook sighed, but a faint smile tugged at his lips. âI just really enjoyed spending time with her. Itâs different.â
âSo shoot her a text, lover boy,â Hoseok urged, hit Jungkook lightly on the back of the head. âAll the smooth moves in the world wonât matter if she doesnât know youâre into her.â
Jungkookâs phone buzzed just as Hoseok delivered his advice, catching him off guard. He glanced down and saw your name on the screen. His eyes lit up, and a grin broke across his faceâso wide and boyish that it almost unnerved Hoseok.
âSpeak of the devil,â Jungkook muttered, barely containing his excitement.
âWell answer it.â He shoves his shoulder.
Jungkook fumbles with his phone and steps off to the side to answer, âYouâve reached Sunflowers on the Go. How may I be of service?âÂ
You humm on the other end of the line in amusement, âSo itâs the strangest thing. I got this delivery of sunflowers here on my desk but I donât remember placing an order.âÂ
âHmm, strange indeed,â Jungkook replied, grinning. âTurns out we only deliver to Composure magazine. No one else.â
What Jungkook wasn't aware of is you had him on speaker phone so Ronnie was also able to hear him. She brought her hand to her face at his cheesy responses. You also shook your head at absurdity.Â
âOh, is that so?â you teased. âWell, there was a little card attached⌠signed by someone named âJK.ââ
âYep, thatâs the guy. Donât know him personally, but he seems pretty cool,â Jungkook said, leaning into the joke. Looking over at Hoseok who was drawing hearts in the air around Jungkook, Jungkook just rolled his eyes.
âHmmm, I donât know anyone named âJKâ. Guess Iâll just have to throw these away then.â You play with the ribbon in your fingers.
âWhoa, whoa, hey! Thatâs mean!â He protested, laughing. You laughed as well at his protest.
âOkay but seriously how did you know these were my favorite?â You touch one of the petals, sunflowers were definitely out of season so he had to go to some work to find really fresh ones. âOr was it just a lucky guess?â
âI may or may not have noticed a pattern on your socials.â His tone was sheepish and you just shook your head.
âAh, so you were stalking me.â You nod, you notice Ronnie roll on over back to her desk. Coming back with her phone in hand. She was typing frantically.
âMaybe a little bit.â Jungkook let a beat pass, âI guess more importantly do you like them?âÂ
âThey are very beautiful. Especially for this time of year.â You sigh, the gesture really was sweet. Might be fast for Jungkook to send flowers this early on but still sweet.
Jungkook let out a sigh he hanât realized he had even been holding in, âI do have to confess something. I was hoping this would make an opening for me to invite you to dinner.â He shifted from side to side, âWell I would be making dinner.â
âInviting me over? Wow, bold move. So soon.â You smile, Ronnie giving you a knowing look and you brushing her off. âWould I have to do anything?â
âI will take care of it all, I need to or ove I can make a mean carbonara,â Hoseok gave Jungkook a look like he had no idea he had any cooking skill. âHow about tonight?â
âI have plans tonight.â Which wasnât a lie, you were going to work on some writing tonight. âHow about Thursday?âÂ
âPerfect. Youâre gonna be impressed, I already know it.â Jungkook chewed on his bottom lip.Â
âIâm sure I will.âÂ
With some goodbyes you both hung up the phone. You could suddenly feel your heart racing in your chest and you mentally scolded yourself. You needed to remember none of this was long term. Which Ronnie was taking the lead in reminding you about.
âFor someone who claims to be totally normal about all of this, you sure are smitten.â She crossed her arms and eyebrow raised observing you, âHe totally knew these would work on you.âÂ
âI am totally normal about all of this. This is perfect, we are going on a second date and I get to start implementing my plan. Everything is on track.â You say but ash is looking back to her phone, âWhat are you looking at?â
âIâm trying to find his instagram.â She continued typing, not looking back up to you.Â
âOh he doesnât have one.â You remembered from dinner on Sunday. It wasnât abnormal for someone to not have one but Ronnie was surprised.Â
âBoo, how am I supposed to dig up dirt on him?â Ash slumped down into her chair. You had actually done a little digging of your own the evening before though.Â
âPretty sure thatâs my job and I already did. He has twitter but he doesnât post often. He keeps a pretty low presence online so I wasnât able to learn much that way.â You sigh, it was actually a little refreshing although it did leave you guessing. Makes it tough to be intrusive in the next steps of your plan. âBy the way, can you cry on command?â
Ronnie raises an eyebrow at your request, âI donât but I think we both know who might.âÂ
âă⢠*â°ă â°ăâă⢠*â°ă â°ăâă⢠*â°ă â°ă⢠*â
Day 5
Thursday arrived, you and Jungkook spent the entire day texting back and forth just talking about whatever came to your minds. You found any excuse to ask him any random question. Send him random things you genuinely thought were funny. He also had something funny to say back or respond with. So you just let that be it, just texting and talking as much as possible.Â
Jungkook had spent the night before doing a practice carbonara. Watching some guy on youtube walking him through the steps. It turned out pretty good but he knew he could make a better one tonight. He got really nice ingredients that hopefully would push it over the edge. He really wanted to make a good first impression with his cooking. He had no issue inviting you over so soon after knowing you, he felt really comfortable with you already.Â
He hoped it wasnât too forward, but you didnât seem to mind.Â
He had a bottle of mid tier white wine in his fridge and he also got a red because he wasnât sure what you would prefer. He also wasn't sure what would pair better with a carbonara. Jungkook dressed his table up all nice, it was nothing special but a candle classes it up a little bit. Classic romantic things. It felt somewhat awkward and made him cringe but also no one else was around to see his effort but you, and you would appreciate it.Â
Or at least he hoped you would.Â
He then heard a knock from his front door. He thought it was a little early for you to be here but he didnât mind, he still was making the food and he could pour you a glass while you waited. He trotted to his door, a wide grin on his face as he swung the door open with some gusto, only to have his features fall.Â
âChannel?âJungkook's face twisted into a confused but unamused expression, as she brushed past him into the apartment. âPlease, come on in.â He said, his voice clearly sarcastic.
Channel looked like she was dressed for a night out and not for a very cold November evening at that. She had her hair curled and bouncy like it usually was, and the highest heel she could comfortably wear, clicking her way around Jungkook's apartment.
âI want my scarf back,â She had her arms crossed, strolling into the apartment with ease. She had been here enough times to know where everything was. âand since you wonât respond to my calls, here I am in person.â
âOkay, you couldnât have texted me about this?â Jungkook let his front door close and followed after her through his apartment, as she tried to look under things and around furniture.Â
She laughed bitterly, âLast I checked, youâve been avoiding my texts as well.â She continued her hunt around his space. Jungkook getting a little peeved since he spent a good amount of time trying to make his space look good for your arrival. Your arrival which would be really soon and this was not a good look for a guy as you clocked as âunseriousâ.
"I kind of have a life, you know? I canât answer every text you send.â Jungkook kept his eyes peeled for the scarf, more than ready for this encounter to end.
âYeah, right.â Channelâs voice dripped with disbelief as she followed him further into the apartment, her arms crossed. âI could tell Hoseok was covering for you.â She paused mid-sentence, catching sight of the dining table set for two, a soft candle flickering in the center. Her expression turned suspicious. âAnd⌠what is that?â
Jungkook looked back to the table and then back to her, acting like itâs always looked like that. âNothing, now where is that scarf?â
âYour place is so⌠spotless,â she murmured, her eyes scanning every corner of his living room, taking in the lit lamps, the neatly arranged coffee table, and the faint smell of food coming from the kitchen. âSetting a mood, are we?â
âI mean, I clean often. Iâm not a slob,â he replied defensively, trying to wave off her assumptions, though he could see she was putting it all together, one detail at a time.
Channel sniffs the air for a moment and then stalks over to the kitchen, âYouâre cooking? You donât cook.â
âWhenever he hung out, cooking really wasnât a part of the schedule.â He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck, aware that he was pushing her buttons. âI cook all the time.âÂ
âOh, I see,â She replied, her tone flat but her eyes flashing. She tilted her head, a cruel smile tugging at her lips. âSo, who is she, then?âÂ
Jungkook sighed, not fighting her anymore, âno one, and she is coming over soon, letâs find your scarf so you can leave.âÂ
But Channel didnât budge, her eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms tighter.Â
âOh no, no, no. Youâre not brushing this off like that. Nice napkins, a candle? You set a damn table, Jungkook. What is this, some kind of date?â Her voice grew sharper with each word, anger and betrayal clear in her expression.
âThatâs not really your business is it?â Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, he needed to get her out of here.Â
Channel let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. âNot my business? You know whatâs funny? All this time, I thought maybe we were building toward something real. And now, I see youâre doing that with someone else?â She scoffed, her face hardening. âWhat you just didnât want this with me?â
Her words hung in the air, clear betrayal laced them. Him and Channel only had a sexual relationship, itâs what they agreed upon from the start. Sometime in there Channel developed some feelings for him and after a few months asked if they could take this more seriously. Jungkook wasnât ready for that kind of step so they ended it all together. So now this all looks really bad.Â
Except, he thought, itâs none of her business if he did change his mind. He never lied to her, and he was always very clear that he did not want a relationship. He really didnât, and this thing with you, although a part of a bet, was something he was dipping his toes into.Â
âChannel, thatâs not it,â Jungkook said, sighing. âI never lied to you. I really didnât want a relationship.â He hesitated, then finally admitted, âBut I met someone, andâŚweâre trying things out and itâs brand new. So please leave.â
Channelâs face twisted in anger, her voice rising as she spat, âOh, I get it.â She tossed her hair over her shoulder, looking around his place with fresh resentment. âI bet youâll dump her as soon as youâve slept together a few more times. Because thatâs what you do, Jungkook.â
He clenched his fists, frustrated but trying to stay calm. âYou know, Iâve had enough of this,.â he said quietly, finally spotting the scarf stuffed into a seat cushion. He pulled it out, tossing it to her.
She caught it and threw it around her neck with a sneer. âSo what is it about her, huh? What makes her so âspecialâ that suddenly youâre willing to commit?â She shot him a glare, stepping closer. âMaybe I should stick around and meet this one-of-a-kind woman. See what all the fuss is about.â
âNo,â Jungkook said firmly, guiding her toward the door. âYouâre leaving, now.â
She jerked away from his touch, folding her arms defiantly. âWhat? Is she coming soon?â Her eyes gleamed with spite. âYou donât want her to know what youâre really like?â
Jungkook let out a slow breath, gathering his patience. âNo. I think she would be an adult and actually talk with me about it,â he replied, surprising himself with the honesty in his voice. âAnd whatever she finds outâthatâs for me to tell her and her to decide. So, goodnight, Channel.â
She stared at him, anger simmering as she pulled open the door, glancing back with an icy glare. âScrew you, Jungkook.â With that, she stormed out, letting the door slam behind her.
At the same time she opened the door you were stepping out of the elevator and onto Jungkookâs floor. You spotted a girl storming down the hallway after yelling inside a doorway, as she passed you muttering a quick âExcuse meâ without a second glance. You had an uneasy feeling about her, especially as she walked away from the very apartment number Jungkook had given you. You double-checked, confirming the number on your phone with the one she had just exited, and the sinking feeling intensified.
âJesus Jungkook. At least have some class and spread out your dates so we donât bump into each other in the hall.â You whisper under your breath, but you still had to go through with this as if you didnât immediately feel a sense of dread.Â
You took a steadying breath, willing yourself to ignore the uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. After all, you were here now, and nothing had technically happened to prove your suspicions. So you pushed them down, knocked on the door, and tried to keep your expression neutral, reminding yourself you were maybe a minute earlyânothing too crazy.
The door opened after a brief pause, and Jungkookâs face shifted from guarded to bright relief when he saw you standing there. His lips curled into a wide, easy smile, like he was genuinely glad to see you. His hair was a little tousled, his shirt a snug, tucked into jeans that fit him perfectly, emphasizing his lean frame. He looked relaxed, casually put together, which was somehow infuriatingly charming.
âHey,â he greeted, his voice warm, stepping aside so you could enter. âCome on in.â
âHi,â you replied, acting as if nothing felt off.Â
You stepped past him, letting your eyes flick around the apartment, taking in the detailsâthe tidy coffee table, a low hum of music playing through the room. He had a nice living room set up around a TV on the wall, the dining setup with an actual candle in the center. Heâd put thought into this, that much was obvious. You couldnât deny it was sweet, even if it left you slightly off-balance, considering what youâd walked past in the hallway moments ago.
âOkay now looking at it now, the candle maybe was a little cheesy.â Jungkook cringed at himself looking at the little set up. You shake your head and wave him off.Â
âNo, I think it's adorable. You even got a scentless one so it doesnât cover the smell of the food.â You take a seat at the table, âIâm prepared to be wowâd like you promised me.âÂ
âI unfortunately got a little bit delayed so I am not quite done yet.â Jungkook was shuffling his way back into the kitchen, âBut make yourself at home.â
âOkay.â You smile as he rounds his way back into his kitchen, he watches you get back up and walk around his living space. Almost like he was waiting for approval. Luckily Channel hadnât trashed the place.Â
You took note of all of the little things he chose to have on display, some books, a few polaroid cameras and some polaroid's on the walls, as well as a record collection that lined the side of the living room on some shelves. You thumbed through some of them to see what was available. Impressed with some of his picks, some similar to your own. His place wasnât terribly big. Classic little bachelor pad. You had noticed he had chosen to keep what you could only assume was his bedroom door closed.Â
It was something Jungkook thought way too hard about, if he left it open was it like saying he wanted to sleep with you tonight? Would it be way too forward? Or was closing it just as weird? Was closing it like telling you that he didnât really want you in his space? He went back and forth and then opted to close it to maybe say he wasnât expecting anything to happen, although he wouldnât mind if it did.Â
You on the other hand didnât barely give it a thought other than noticing it. You picked up one of his polaroid cameras and brought it with you. You round your way back to his kitchen and stand off to the side watching him work. He was pretty zoned in on what he was doing, everything was really smelling great. You usually found it pretty hot if a guy could cook well.Â
Jungkook took an opportunity to try some of his work and you took a photo right at the moment he took a bite, his eyes widened right at the moment he realized he'd been caught.
The picture came out and you set it down to develop.Â
âIâm sure that will be super cute.â You laugh, setting down his camera as well. He laughs and you look over his shoulder to see how close he is to being done.
âComing to inspect my work?â Jungkook glances to his side, seeing you peering over his shoulder to see what he was doing. He was almost done cooking.Â
âMaybe.â You tease, âIâm a sucker for people who can cook. Iâm just⌠okay at it.âÂ
âWell,â Jungkook stops what he is doing and reaches for a drawer next to him pulling out a fork and twirling some of the noodles onto it. Then holding the fork out to you. âIâm ready for your final score.â
You paused. Debating if you should eat the food off the fork or if you should take the fork. Would it send the wrong message if you ate off it? Or was that exactly what he was doing? The fork wasnât very close to your mouth but not crazy far. You decided to just take the fork from him and take the bite.Â
It ended up being really good carbonara.Â
âOh my god.â You smile chewing, âitâs really fucking good. Ten out of ten.âÂ
Jungkook did a small fist pump to himself, tucking his bottom lip between his teeth hiding a smile. âIâll admit, I did a practice run yesterday and it was just okay but Iâm glad this one is good.â Jungkook then taking a bite of it himself with another fork. Jungkook upon tasting his own food smacking his own forehead and leaning back.Â
Causing you to laugh at his dramatic reaction.Â
You glanced at the polaroid on the counter picking it up to see if it had developed yet, it wasnât fully done but you could see mostly what the picture would look like. You showed it to Jungkook and he smiled, âTen out of ten picture. Best one of me yet.âÂ
You looked at it and he did look like a deer caught in the headlights but it was funny, you set it down.Â
âIâll admit Iâm wowed, to be fair Iâve only had carbonara like one other time.â You lean against one of his kitchen counters watching him as he plates the pasta for the two of you.
âIâll still take the high praise. Now, should we do a white or a red wine?âÂ
âHmm, a red works better with this I think.â You nod.Â
Jungkook tells you where you can find his bottle opener and some glasses. You managed to get the cork screw into the cork but seem to be lacking the ability to actually pull the cork out of the bottle. Jungkook finds some amusement in watching your struggle but you persist. Youâve opened plenty of wine bottles in the past, this shouldnât be difficult.Â
âHaving some trouble?â Jungkook watched you try and fail to pull the cork out a third time.
âAbsolutely not. The cork and I are just having a disagreement.â You shake off your hand a few times and then get a better grip on the screw pulling upward as best you can. With some pathetic struggle, you really swear you can feel the cork moving. You let out a sigh as you let it go again.Â
âMay I?âÂ
âI swear Iâm not that weak.â This honestly was just embarrassing at this point, so much so you have to face away from Jungkook at your next attempt.Â
You make one final grip on the corkscrew and twist and tug, finally the corkscrew and cork pop free. Not before your hand comes straight, hard and fast, into your own face.
âOh shit,â Jungkookâs face changes as he sees you basically punch your own face. âAre you okay?âÂ
You did dizzy yourself slightly but you set the bottle down. Feeling your face, hoping you hadnât broken your nose although it certainly would be bruised or sore at least, âOkay maybe I should never open wine ever again.âÂ
Your nose than began to pulse with pain, this definitely wasnât a part of your plan for sure. you covered it with one of your hands but Jungkook pulled it away. âHere let me look at it.â
âPlease tell me itâs not bleeding.â You groan, and Jungkook places his hands on both of your cheeks looking at it. You match his face and he looks genuinely concerned.Â
âWell, Iâm not a doctor but youâre still pretty cute.â He then smiles and rubs one of his thumbs on your cheek. âThatâs my professional assessment anyways.â
âOkay, but it still really hurts,â You say, letting your own hands rest on his wrists.Â
âHey, itâs probably just a bit soreâno blood, no bruise.â He gently tilts your head from side to side in a silly, exaggerated inspection that makes you giggle.Â
Itâs quiet between you both for a moment, Jungkook still holding your face. He just looks over your face for a moment, your nose was red but it was probably going to be okay. He had hurt his own nose a few times to know if it was broken.Â
Jungkookâs hands still on your cheeks, eyes meeting as he studies your face. Itâs easy to get lost in the warmth of his gaze and how close he is. A little too easy. For a second, you find yourself softening, tempted by the thought of leaning in and just letting yourself enjoy this. But then, just in time, you snap back to reality, realizing you can use this little mishap to your advantage. This damage to your nose might have actually opened up a window for what you had been working yourself up too.
You pull your face away from Jungkook and shake your head, breathing in a heavy breath. Jungkook looked a little confused but then after a moment you were crying. You were crying?Â
âHey,â he placed a hand on your shoulder, âI was just teasing you.âÂ
You wave your hands in a frantic show, your voice cracking just a little. âNo, no, itâs not you. Itâs justâŚ.â You let out a little sob. âIâm just so clumsy! And you made this beautiful dinner, and Iâve totally ruined it!â
Jungkook looks utterly bewildered now, glancing around as if the answer to your sudden breakdown might be hiding in his kitchen cabinets. âReally, I promise, you didnât mess anything up. Iâm just glad youâre okay.â He squeezes your shoulder reassuringly, almost nervously.
âUgh, I can't believe this. Iâm totally ruining the mood.â You wipe your tears away.Â
It was a good little performance. One that was planned.

The evening before.
Day 04
âThe art of crying on command.â Here you were again. Ronnie sitting next to you. Jin pacing back and forth with his notepad once again. Unfortunately for you, Jin was the person to have expertise on this subject being an acting teacher.Â
âOkay I already regret this.â You try to stand up but Ronnie pulls you back down onto Jinâs couch.Â
âThis will help you!â Ronnie protested and leaned on you once you were settled back in. âThis can be a part of your over dramatic persona you use.âÂ
âExactly! It gives you another tool in the toolbox for the charade you signed up for!â Jin pointed at you with his pen and waving it around.Â
âFine, continue.â You wave for him to go on and Jin grins.Â
âThank you! Now, there are three main techniques for crying on command,â he begins, pacing dramatically. âSome people can justâŚdo it. They snap their fingers andâbam! Tears.â He snaps his fingers for effect. âOthers need to go to a sad memory. Something personal and emotional, something that really tugs at the heartstrings. And then, of course, some people have to resort toâŚahem, creative methods. Pepper in the sinuses, maybe a little poke to the eyeâŚâ
âLetâs please avoid self-injury,â you interrupt dryly, giving him a look.
âFair enough. Letâs start with the basics and see if youâre a natural,â Jin says, jotting a note on his pad. âClose your eyes, focus, and letâs see if you can will the tears into existence.â
You sit up straight, trying your best to summon tears on command, forcing your eyes to feelâŚsad? Your face contorts into what you hope is a tearful expression, but as you blink, nothing happens. Your eyes are as dry as ever.
âNothing?â Jin sighs and makes a dramatic strike-through on his notepad, looking deeply disappointed.
âYeah, sorry,â You mutter. âNothing.â
âOkay,â Jin strikes something out on his notepad and you roll your eyes at his dramatics. âCannot cry on command. So letâs try a memory, or is there a movie scene you canât think about because it gets you teared up?âÂ
You sit and think, you have some sad memories from your childhood that you bring to the front of your mind. Reminiscing on them, although some things are sad or bittersweet, nothing tear jerking.Â
âDry.â Ronnie leans over and looks closely in your eyes, so much so you have to shove her face away from you.Â
âDry.â Jin repeats and writes on his notepad.Â
âMaybe try going to the dark place?â Ronnie snaps and looks at you. âYou always get really teary eyed when you think about dying alone.â
âOkay rude.â You sigh, it wasnât untrue. Whenever you came back from dates that were unsuccessful or you wasted your time on someone who just wanted something casual you found yourself going to, what you and Ronnie have deemed, the dark place. âI donât like thinking about that.âÂ
âItâs for science!â Ronnie cheers, throwing her arms up like it's supposed to make it more fun or something.Â
You groan, sinking deeper into the couch. âI donât know if this is such a great idea, honestly. When I start spiraling about my love life, itâs not exactlyâŚmild.â You look down, already feeling a little prick of sadness starting to stir.
Jin comes and squats in front of you, âWell then just go to the edge of it and donât think about the whole picture. What about dying alone usually gets you crying?âÂ
You think for a second, and finally, the words come out quietly. âI guess⌠I cry when I start thinking that maybe I wonât ever find someone whoâsâŚjust right for me.â
Ronnie lets out a soft âawwâ and nudges you gently.
You let yourself feel it for a momentâthe uncertainty, the nagging doubt that, maybe, youâll keep hitting dead ends. And with that, you feel a familiar, bittersweet ache starting to well up.
Jin nods approvingly, seeing a slight glimmer in your eyes. âExcellent,â he says, jotting down, potential crying trigger identified.
The vulnerability hangs in the air, and you let yourself lean into it a little. Lately, it felt harder and harder to keep going on dates, to believe that love might work out someday. You always seemed to be either too much or not enoughâloving too deeply, too slowly, too intensely. It left you feeling drained, to the point where dating felt less like romance and more like a chore.
But with Jungkook, for once, youâd felt...hopeful. Like there was someone who genuinely wanted to share a moment, who put effort into making sure you had a good time. As unintentional as it was, youâd started to feel a little spark, considering the circumstances of your forced meeting. But as soon as youâd started to believe it, you reminded yourself it was all part of the act. You couldnât let yourself actually believe it. You got your hopes up again, and they were ripped out from under you⌠again.Â
So you had slowly felt as time went on, you were losing sight of finding the one.Â
Then without even realizing it, you had a few stray tears fall from your eyes.Â
âBoom!â Jin erupted and sprang to his feet, âWe have tears!â
âă⢠*â°ă â°ăâă⢠*â°ă â°ăâă⢠*â°ă â°ă⢠*â
You gripped onto that feeling you let it force a few more tears out of your eyes. Unfortunately you did not avoid the personal injury part of the tears. So this was going really well for you.Â
You take a shaky breath, letting a few more tears roll down, making sure the sniffle that follows sounds especially pitiful. âMaybe I should just go home,â you say, voice wavering. âThis along with my day⌠itâs all just been too much. You probably think Iâm completely insane.â
You manage to start walking toward the door. Jungkook then panics for a moment, how did we go from laughing at you injuring your nose to crying and saying youâre going home? He felt like he had jumped three steps or something. You start toward the front door but Jungkook stepped around you, stopping you.Â
âWait what?â Jungkook looked confused, âHow did we get here? I donât want you to leave.â
You sniff even louder, adding just the right amount of snotty dramatics. âNo, I should. You barely know me, and here I amâan emotional wreck in your kitchen. Itâs⌠itâs too much.â
âAnd? You just hit yourself in the nose really hard. I would be a little embarrassed and want to leave too.â Jungkook places a hand on your arm, trying to comfort you. âBesides isn't the whole point of going on dates to get to know each other better?â
âI guess.â You wipe your face again, âI donât know⌠I didnât mean to just⌠fall apart like this.â
Jungkook sighs a little relieved, that could have spiraled further. âAnd just so you know, I donât think youâre crazy at all.â
âWell itâs still early, havenât had a chance to go full blown crazy yet.â Which gets a laugh out of both you and Jungkook.Â
âWell I can deal with that I think.â He gives you a small, reassuring smile. âBesides, food is still good. Wine is still out and last I checked a bruised nose doesnât stop you from eating.âÂ
âWait, is it actually bruising?â You reflexively go up to touch it, definitely tender to the touch and jungkook chuckles a little.Â
âIâm teasing. Itâs only a little red.â He takes your hand pulls you back into his apartment, with a little reluctance from you. âStay, at least for a little while. Iâm not going to let you walk out of here feeling like this.â
You blink up at him, playing up a hint of uncertainty, but inside, youâre genuinely a little taken aback. âYou really mean that?â
âOf course I do.â He tilts his head to the side trying to meet your eyes, that had been darting everywhere else out of real embarrassment. âLook, I donât care if you cry, Iâm the biggest cry baby I know!â
You manage a small, hesitant smile, as if heâs starting to get through to you. âI find that hard to believe.âÂ
Jungkook scoffs, feigning insult. âOh, donât underestimate me. Those âlost puppy finds his way homeâ commercials? Iâm done. Iâm over here pretending thereâs dust in my eyes.â
You laugh again, shaking your head. âOkay, maybe I believe you⌠just a little.â
âThere we go!â He looks genuinely pleased, his expression softening as he sees you relax. âSo, if Iâm willing to admit my crybaby tendencies, itâs only fair you stick around for dinner, right?â He tucks his bottom lip into his mouth in anticipation of your answer.Â
âAlright, Iâll stay.â You say it with an air of nonchalance, trying to mask the small spark of mischief hidden behind your agreement. It earns you a relieved, borderline triumphant smile from Jungkook.
âPhew! Youâre sparing me from a whole night of wondering if my cooking scared you off for good.â He grins, his dramatic sigh punctuating his relief.
âOh, please,â you say, rolling your eyes, feeling the perfect opening for a light jab. âIf anything, the food is what convinced me to stay.â
Jungkook then serves dinner for the both of you. You both fall into easy conversation as you eat, he really did do a great job with the food. He was very considerate of making sure you needed anything else or pouring more wine when you wanted it. As well as making you laugh at almost every single turn. You really do get it why he got girls to go home with him so easily, between this and your first date the amount of confidence and charm that exudes from him is palpable in the air.Â
Jungkook would never show it but his lack of practice with dating has actually made this date and your last the most nervous he as been in a while. Jungkookâs mind is racing, carefully cataloging every response you make, every laugh, every nod. He wantsâneedsâthis to go well, not just because heâd prefer to win $300 rather than lose it, but because, in his gut, he actually likes seeing you here, across from him. He catches himself wondering if heâs oversharing when he starts a story, or if heâs going on too long when he recounts his last trip. When you laugh at one of his stupid jokes, he relaxes a bit, but he still canât quite shake that uncertainty.Â
You decided no more theatrics for the evening and let this play out naturally, how you would play out any other evening. Anything else would tip him off that maybe you were doing this on purpose.Â
After a while the two of you had moved into the living room, you had been flipping through his records again, you didnât take a chance to look at them all earlier. He had a decent collection for sure so you got a good sense of the type of music he liked. You both had a few glasses of wine now and so the conversation had turned more and more flirtatious.Â
Noting the variety of musicâjazz, a little classic rock, some alternative stuff. âYouâve got a good taste,â you say, glancing back at him. âThis one,â you pull a record out with a slight smirk, âdefinitely says something about you.â
âOh yeah?â He grins, leaning on the side of his couch as he watches you move around his shelves. âAnd what exactly does it say?â
You tilt your head, pretending to give it serious thought. âThat youâre trying really hard to be cool. Just edgy enough.â
He laughs, though you notice he flushes slightly, brushing off your joke with a casual shrug. âHey, everyone needs a little mystery. Or at leastâŚa halfway-decent record collection.â
âIs that what youâre hiding?â you tease. âA mysterious vinyl collection? Or is it just your immense amount of fish facts?â
âWell, youâll have to stick around to find out.â The words slip out before he can stop them, and he immediately kicks himself. It feels too... eager, a bit too close to something genuine. But he manages to recover, putting on a self-assured smile. âNot everyone gets to see my hidden jazz albums.â
You laugh, setting the record back and looking at him with a raised brow. âGuess Iâll have to consider myself lucky, then.â Finding a spot back on the couch with him.Â
Jungkook shifted in his spot so his body was completely facing you now. With the alcohol having set in, his eyes were a little droopy and he was smiling but he looked boyish. He found the more he was learning about you the more he felt fine with telling you things about himself.Â
âYou look tired.â You poke his forehead. âMaybe I really should go.âÂ
âItâs barely even late.â Jungkook takes your hand, lacing your fingers with his. âIâm not tired at all.âÂ
âYour eyes tell a different story.â You laugh, leaning your head against the back of his couch.Â
âWell what else are they saying?â He smirks, finding any reason to get a compliment from you.Â
You stare at them for a minute, you were trying to come up with something clever. âWell if I am translating this right⌠I canât handle my wine.â
You laugh and Jungkook rolls his eyes, âWow how did you know?âÂ
âI have a thing for reading people.â You shrug. âWhat do mine say?â
He leans in really close looking between them. âWow this guy is so hot and charming I really want to kiss him again,â Jungkook then gasps dramatically leaning away. âThatâs scandalous, Y/N.â
âShut up.â You laugh and get up from the couch trying to leave, Jungkook's hand pulling you back to standing in front of him. âYouâre really full of yourself.â
âIâd like to think just a healthy amount.â He grins, Jungkook then places one of his hands on the back of your thigh. The warmth of his hand sends a shiver up your spine, but you do your best to keep your cool, not letting him see just how much his touch is affecting you.
You scoff with a half smile, âWeâll see about that.âÂ
Jungkooks grin widens sitting forward on his couch, both of his hands finding their way to your hips. Tracing small circles with his thumbs, making it impossible for you to think. The way he looks at youâintense, unflinching, like heâs trying to figure you outâhas you second-guessing your plans all over again, just for a second. This is what makes this hard, because the way he looks at you makes you believe every single word.
Many guys before have looked at you like this and you always fall for it, you always let yourself go for it.Â
Itâs a little difficult to remember that right now though, your mind clouded by the wine.Â
You glance down to his lap for a moment then back up to his eyes that havenât left yours. âCan I?âÂ
Jungkook just nods, allowing you to take your place on his lap. Lifting your legs to either side of his hips. Jungkook really was not intending for this night to go this way but he wasnât complaining if it had. He found you incredibly hot and would do whatever you wanted. His hands stayed planted on your hips as you found what felt comfortable.Â
âYouâre pretty.â He smiles boyishly, he really did find you gorgeous and would tell you again and again if it wouldnât be weird. The compliment makes you blush and hum.Â
âYouâre pretty too.â You lace your arms around his neck. Both of your faces coming so close together now. Breathes intermingling for a moment, asking the same question. âYou were right though.âÂ
âAbout what?â
âI do want to kiss you again.â You catch the slight hitch in Jungkook's breath at your words, the way his fingers tighten on your hips, grounding you even as your heart races. His eyes flicker from your mouth to your eyes, searching your face as though heâs almost afraid this moment might slip away.
âIâm not one to protest.â Jungkook swallows for a moment, before you took no time to close the distance between you. Pressing your lips against his soft but certain. Jungkook immediately responds tilting his head to deepen it. One of Jungkook's hands sliding up your back to bring you closer to him. The moment makes you forget everything else, as you slide your tongue into his mouth.Â
For a moment, you allow yourself to sink into it, into the surprising tenderness of his touch, the quiet intensity of his kiss. You move your hands to cup his face, relishing in how warm you are now. You felt your whole entire body heat up, and small wetness in between your legs. Oh this was not good, you cannot sleep with him this soon.Â
Oh he probably knew exactly what he was doing though.
He would know exactly where to touch you and exactly how to make you moan and you had very little issues with wanting to let him do that. It would be so worth it, it would be so good. Except it cannot go past this, for your sanity at least. You needed to cut this off somehow, expect you kind of lead the night here. His tongue in your mouth was making it incredibly difficult to be logical. You could feel him probably already getting a semi and you really could not stop thinking about grinding on him.Â
You needed to stop though. Because this is a great opportunity to drive in that wedge between the two of you. One more way to mess this situation ship up, but not ruin it completely.
As you pull away from him, leaving his lap, you mutter, âOkay⌠Goodnight.â You force yourself to stand, feigning nonchalance as you gather your things, even though every cell in your body is screaming at you to turn back around. Jungkook is left blinking at you, visibly caught off guard, his hands awkwardly suspended in the air where your hips just were. He clears his throat, collecting himself as he scrambles to follow you.
Clearing his throat. âHey⌠um woah⌠was that not good or whatever?âÂ
You pick up some of your stuff into you arm, âIt was it was good. It was great.âÂ
Oh god it was great, he was a really good kisser and your whole body was screaming at you to go back but you fought through.Â
Jungkook was confused by your answer and shook his head, as he continued to follow you, âDid⌠did I misread something? Because I was getting a vibe.â
You glance over your shoulder and manage to flash a casual smile. âNo, you didnât misread anything. I just⌠donât usually sleep with someone on the second date. Kind of a rule.â You bite your lip, keeping the truth of it hidden.
âOh.â Jungkook nods, a look of relief mixed with mild confusion crossing his face as he adjusts his shirt. âRight, totally. Cool cool cool. Thatâs more than okay and Makes sense, makes sense⌠you should have said something.â
âItâs a bit of a mood killer to say âhey, by the way, youâre not getting any,â donât you think?â You raise an eyebrow, suppressing a grin.
You gather your things, amused by his honesty, and start toward the door. Jungkook trails behind you, letting out a small puff of air as he stares at the floor. Then, after a beat, he glances up with a sly grin. âSo⌠just out of curiosity, not trying to be weird or anything, but what date number are we talking here? Fourth, fifthâŚ?â
You canât help but laugh at his question, knowing full well he has no idea youâre just messing with him. âHigher.â
He frowns, looking genuinely curious now. âSixth?â
âNope.â
âSeventh?â He leans in closer, eyes narrowed like heâs reading the answer off your face.
âHigher.â
âOkay, when do you usually?âÂ
You cross your arms, âTwelfth.âÂ
Jungkookâs face barely changes, but you can see his jaw tighten just a little as he processes this. âTwelve⌠dates,â he repeats slowly, nodding as if heâs mentally mapping it out. âI mean, sure. Thatâs totally reasonable. Not a problem.â
âReally?â you ask, surprised at his lack of pushback.
Yeah.â He shrugs, putting on a confident smile. âGuess I just have to plan ten more killer dates.â
âUh huh. Iâll believe it when I see them.â Jungkook then opens the front door for you.Â
âYou're going to keep me on my toes arenât you?â He watches you slowly step out the door with a wide grin on your face. He finds it cute and playful, he could tell you liked the chase.Â
âGoodnight Jungkook.â You say in a sing song voice, giving him a flirtatious wave as you walk up the hallway to his elevator.Â
Before you could get too far Jungkook decided to leave with just one last thing. Trotting up the hallway so he could catch you, taking your wrist and stopping you. âOne last thing.âÂ
Jungkook places a hand on your cheek and then kisses you. It surprises you but you welcome him, its one of those kisses that is so passionate and it makes your knees want to buckle out from under you in response. He uses just a little bit of tongue to send a shiver through your whole body, his hand warm against your cheek as he continues to kiss you just long enough to make you lose track of the hallway, the elevator, and everything else.Â
When he finally pulls back, his eyes are twinkling with that trademark cockiness, but thereâs something softer underneath, something that makes your heart do an unwelcome little flip. He grins, his hand lingering on your cheek for just a moment longer before letting go. âGoodnight.â
He goes back into his apartment as you retreat to the elevator. As you ride down, you let out a shaky breath, trying to process what just happened, and trying even harder to remind yourself why youâre supposed to be making him miserable. But as your lips still tingle from his kiss, youâre the one who is being thrown off balance now. This was continuing to prove to be difficult.

Day 6
Jungkook is floating on air as he gets through his next work day. So much so Hoseok has taken notice of Jungkook's change in attitude. Really his whole attitude had been different all week. Not that he was particularly grumpy before or even usually in a bad mood, but he was in a good mood.Â
It was Friday night, and the familiar hum of the weekend buzzed in the air as Jimin and Taehyung once again convinced Jungkook and Hoseok to come out for a night of fun. Jungkook had been hesitant, his thoughts lingering on you. Heâd been so busy lately, and while the dates had been great, there was something about tonight that made him want to see what plans you had before fully committing to the night out. But eventually, he decided he should just goâtime with his friends, after all, was good too. Plus, there was that whole bet to think about, and he had a chance to subtly show Jimin and Taehyung how smoothly things were going with you.
When Jungkook and Hoseok arrived at the booth, they were greeted with their usual boisterous energy. Taehyung raised his glass, grinning widely. âLook who it is!â he said, motioning to the empty seats. As they sat down, the drinks flowed easily, and the conversation began to buzz.
However, Jimin and Taehyung had something else on their mindsâJungkookâs unusually good mood. While their conversation about random topics picked up, they were both trying to pinpoint exactly what had changed in him.
âSo,â Jimin leaned forward, his voice a bit more teasing than usual, âwhatâs going on with you tonight? Youâve been, like, way too chill. Itâs freaking me out.â
Jungkook paused for a moment, a little taken aback by the sudden observation. âWhat do you mean?â
Jimin gestured at him with a mock-serious face, âYou're usually the one trying to take the night to the next level. Trying to make things more interesting. Tonight, you're just sitting here, all calm, looking like youâre, I donât know, at peace or something?â
Taehyung chuckled at the thought, leaning in with a grin. âYeah, what happened to the Jungkook who was out here doing whatever it took to keep things fun and exciting? You usually make sure the whole night has a direction. Right now, youâre, like... engaged in our conversation about cyber-security. Thatâs... not you.â
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, trying to play it cool, but he could feel the pressure mounting. He knew his friends had caught on to something, but they didnât know why he was acting different. âIâm just⌠having a good day,â he said, his voice light and casual. âNothing wrong with that, right?â
Hoseok snorted next to him and Jungkook gave him a side eye.Â
âYou definitely would have gotten someoneâs number by now but your eyes have been glued on us or on your phone this whole time.â Taehyung added on, which was usually true but Jungkook was glued to his phone. Hoping maybe he would see another text from you, secretly. Casually, in a totally normal way.Â
âSo what gives?â Jimin pokes Jungkook in the arm.Â
âItâs nothing.â Jungkook shrugged and took a sip of his drink.Â
Hoseok rolled his eyes, âItâs Y/N. The girl you set him up with for this stupid bet.âÂ
âOh.â It all clicked into place for the both of them but it was still weird, âShe totally see through your act yet?âÂ
Jungkook was caught off guard, the question cutting deeper than he expected. He shifted in his seat, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. âActually,â he began, his voice softening, âno. We had a really nice date last night. There is nothing to see through, Iâve been completely genuine.â
âOh, really?â Jimin raised a skeptical eyebrow, a grin tugging at his lips.
Hoseok, who had been mostly observing, finally chimed in with a sigh. âHeâs been in such a good mood about it all day, Iâve actually been avoiding him.â
Jungkook shot him a glare, nudging his arm. âSo thatâs why you were dodging me earlier?â
Hoseok shrugged, chuckling. âSorry, man, I just couldnât listen to you go on about Y/N again today.â
Jungkook rolled his eyes, glancing back at Jimin and Taehyung. âYou guys are acting like itâs such a big deal. Itâs just⌠going well.â
Taehyung raised a skeptical brow, his tone a bit annoyed. âSo, youâre hitting it off?â
Jungkook smirked, raising his glass. âI donât kiss and tell.â
That earned a laugh from Jimin and Taehyung. âYeah, right.â Jimin scoffed, shaking his head.
âAll Iâm saying,â Jungkook replied, his smirk widening, âis you two better get your wallets ready. In 24 days, youâre going to owe me big time.â
With a final grin, Jungkook set his glass down and excused himself, heading off to the bathroom. As soon as he was out of earshot, Jimin leaned closer to Hoseok, lowering his voice. âOkay, is it actually going well, or is he just messing with us?â
Hoseok took a sip of his drink, letting the suspense hang in the air for a moment before answering. âAll Iâll say is⌠he sent flowers.â
Jiminâs jaw dropped, and Taehyungâs eyes widened. âFlowers?â They exchanged looks of disbelief, struggling to picture Jungkookâwho hadnât done more than text after a night out for yearsâsending flowers.
âWhat kind?â Taehyung asked, still dubious. âIf they were just roses, it mightâve been for show.â
Hoseok gave an exasperated look. âSunflowers. Theyâre her favorite.â
Jimin blinked in disbelief, his jaw still halfway dropped as he processed Hoseok's words. âSunflowers?â he repeated, as if the specific flower choice made it even more surreal. âYouâre telling me Jungkook not only sent flowers but remembered her favorite kind?â
Hoseok nodded, his expression one of mild amusement. âItâs like heâs on some kind of mission. Didnât even blink when he mentioned it eitherâused it as his way to get the second date they had this week.â
Taehyung shook his head, laughing under his breath. âI donât know who this new Jungkook is, but heâs full of surprises. Sunflowers? Thatâs not just impressive; thatâs borderline romantic.â
âBorderline?â Jimin laughed, still trying to wrap his head around it. âHeâs gone full-on romance novel, and for someone heâs been seeing for, what, a week? This has to be the longest heâs been interested in anyone, like, ever.â
Taehyung let out a low whistle, chewing on his lip as he processed the surprising information. âDamn. This is serious.â
âYeah,â Hoseok said with a small smile, finding some pride in a changed Jungkook. âSo heâs not wrong when he says you guys are going to owe him. Heâs actually putting in the effort.â
Jimin and Taehyung exchanged a look, stunned but slightly impressed. Watching Jungkook send flowers, remember favorites, and put his best foot forward was newâand honestly? They both knew they might just end up eating their own words. Which made them think, was there a way for them to slow this down, make it come to a halt?
It wasnât an insane amount of money for either of them to lose, but it was much more entertaining to see Jungkook lose. Was there something they could do to mess this up but in a non asshole way?
If they didnât, Jungkook was going to win the bet, but it had already become much more a bet at this point for him.

Ali made a post about the interviews.
The misdirection in the interviews was inevitable the moment that episode ended. That episode was blatant GAY Eddie foreshadowing. The final scene of that episode was basically confirmation of where this thing is going. And even the jurnos said that. But the show isn't ready for that yet. The characters aren't ready for that yet. They each still have some of their own stuff to figure out before they're ready. Oliver did not tell people that he wanted a slow burn and for the audience to go through the ups and downs of a will they or won't they just to come out in an interview and say 'Buddie canon in 3 episodes'. That's not how this is going to go. They are going to build this up. Ryan always overcorrects in interviews when he's trying to play things down. It's his default setting. There's nothing wrong with that. But they both also made a point of saying that 'they don't know what the future holds' so when the time comes and they do go canon no one can say they lied. They do know where it's going but they're not allowed to tell you that, yet. That's PR 101. I understand that media literacy is not as common as I thought it was but we were right about Tommy guys. We know what we're talking about. We don't know how long it will take or what will come between now and then but you all have got to stop sending doom posts to us. If you need to say it say it on your own blog. Nothing they have done has been subtle. The Tommy thing played out exactly like we said it would. EXACTLY LIKE WE SAID IT WOULD. Because they're being obvious. We're not going to get all the answers in one episode and I'm not spending the next 3 months talking people down from panic over every single thing one of them says or does. It's their job to sell you the NOW and right now they're not together, and as far as we know, neither character is aware of their feelings yet. Let them tell the story. But actors and show runners lie all the time in interviews. Because the interview isn't a lie in the present canon, which is what all of these interviews are talking about. Present canon. It's why they gave themselves the out of 'we don't know the future'. They do. But their characters don't and the interviews are from the perspective of their characters current canon situations. We got a win last night. Stop. Enjoy the win. Quit looking for reasons to be annoyed or upset because as far as 911 goes, you don't have any reason to not be excited. Last night was basically confirmation. đ
Thank you for dropping this in my inbox Nonny!
Yep. YES to all of this.
When Oliver said that he wanted the characters to experience that slow burn kind of longing? He clearly said that he wanted the audience to experience that longing with them.
That's exactly what this is.
Isn't it beautiful? đ

I also think it's worth being pedantic about important things...and in that spirit I've spent like an hour writing and deleting various responses to this one (I found myself over-policing my tone and stopped that, so I'll just say right off I have no ill-will toward you and appreciate the contributions, even as I disagree on interpretation in several ways):
First, your tags - "for example a book can really kick off a delusion and set something off that can be traumatic." As I've said in another reblog thread, but it deserves repeating, triggering delusions, compulsions, or PTSD or adjustment disorder symptoms is not the same as causing trauma. We should try to accommodate people with triggers, and much of this accommodation will need to be individualized because the range of potential triggers is vast and often does not include things conventionally recognized as upsetting. I had a loved one make an irreversible error because of a delusion he had that was fueled by the due date on his library card being coincidentally the same as the date of his dentist appointment. That's not a reason for us to have a cultural conversation about the format of due date stickers. Though it could call for a discussion of how we can best support people who are experiencing delusional thinking or psychosis (we are currently doing very badly).
Re: vicarious trauma. Reading the Wikipedia article, I see that the examples given are of real life events reported on in the media, primarily social media and news coverage in the wake of terrorist attacks. I'm not going to get too deep into personal experience here, but let's just say this is not my first time hearing of vicarious trauma, and the important thing is that it is a real response to real harm and disaster. I wouldn't refuse evidence, but have not seen any, that it's caused by 13 Reasons Why or The Bridge to Terebithia or Outlander. (Bellingcat has useful advice for safety and 'metal hygiene' when engaging with firsthand sources of violence. I might use similar techniques when watching clips from a horror movie, but the stakes are not the same. Also, heads up that anyone who clicks through that link will read some text about distressing real-life events.)
"Books can have a significant impact on someoneâs mind and outlook and thatâs why they want them to be banned." < I agree and I think when people talk about how they don't want kids (or others) to read books about death, violence, sex, etc, they are participating in this. Authoritarians want us to have very particular ideas about these topics and resist any alternative information or thinking about them. When people go around saying "Learning or thinking about something upsetting is the same as being traumatized" they are doing the work of Christofascist Censorship Attempts, and I don't care if it's accidental. We don't need to compromise with them. (I don't have room to open this can of worms fully, but I also think too many people go around saying--for example--"13 Reasons Why traumatized me, I can't believe any library would let a kid read it" and thus send a message to the people around them with real-life experience with suicide, suicidal ideation, etc. that their experiences are unspeakable, untouchable. This social stigma is incredibly harmful.)
"I think itâs more productive to challenge the idea that a book that can potentially cause harm should be banned instead of the idea that books can potentially cause harm." < This is an interesting idea. I love its uncompromising stance. It's one I would adopt if I was convinced books can cause something that deserves to be called "harm" (the two of us may just have different definitions). I definitely believe we all have the God-given right to give ourselves nightmares and anyone trying to 'protect' us from that should be kicked in the fork of the legs.
I'm wondering if, as a society who cares about vulnerable people, we could stop saying "traumatize" when we truly mean "upset"?
I am sick of hearing sad books or movies "traumatize" their readers. I simply do not believe that happens. A traumatic experience might be adjacent to books (I have vivid memories of books I was reading around certain experiences and even how the contents of those books affected my processing of the experiences). But it's not caused by the book. And, y'know. The weather is Christofascist Censorship Attempts outside.
Meanwhile from the other side I continue to be surprised at just how badly people fail to understand trauma and traumatic experiences in general. Watering down the term isn't helping. Find other hyperbole to express that The Bridge to Terebithia gutted you, chewed on your heartstrings, and made you cry your first pair of contact lenses right out of your preteen eyes.

2#-> đ: a letter has arrived from satoru gojo.
dear y/n.
day 2, and i took a smaallll detour.. iâve already made a list of all the things iâm going to mail back to you! i know, i know, you said not to spoil you, but how could i resist? i saw these little pastries in a shop today, and the moment i saw them, i thought, 'y/n would love these!' so of course, i bought them! theyâll just be a tiny bit stale by the time i send them over to you, but theyâre still going to be perfect because theyâre from me!! i also picked out some ridiculously cute souvenirs, but it'll come by till i send my fourth letter! then i'll explain what exactly i got you!
anyways.. as for the mission itself.. well, itâs not exactly what i expected. youâd think that being this good at what i do, iâd have things sorted out, right? wrong! i ended up fighting some one-eyed curse, not that it matters, because i won. i always win. just, maybe not the way i planned..
thereâs something about being away from you that makes me realize just how much i miss you. i know i'm clingy, i'll admit that but.. it's kind of ridiculous how much i just want to be in your presence. i just wish i could see you again. just thinking about it makes this mission seem like a complete waste of time (but hey, it's for a good cause, right?).
iâll be home before you know it. just wait for me a little longer, okay? i love you baby!!
from your super duper amazing boyfriend, satoru đđâ
p.s. the pastries? all yours. unless i eat it all by the time i can send it over.. (probably will..)

More thoughts:
I linked a post below that has me thinking about Tommy's actions & Eddie's place in the narrative. In retrospect, I 100% believe Tommy knows and understands that Eddie is likely going to be Buck's last. (as much as anybody can know this sort of thing.) I know Tim and Oliver said Eddie had nothing to do with the obstacles in Buck's relationship, but I think that was a partial truth on their part. Technically, Buck does spiral because of Abby and #stagefoureddiediaz has talked about the way Buck is still stuck on the hamster wheel. I think both of these things are part of the obstacles mentioned in one of Oliver's interviews. However, if you look only at those things, you overlook the Pink Eddie in the room. While I agree that Eddie didn't interfere or try to stop Buck & Tommy from being together, his friendship with Buck has remained a constant. (see the link at the very bottom for more about Eddie in the narrative.) If you check out Buddielifer's post, several good points demonstrate the breakup was about Eddie. I'll try to avoid repeating what was said there as I explain. My opinion does differ on a few small points, but I'll get to that later.
Ok. I'm going to talk about Tommy a little but stick with me. This is a Buddie post. I promise, and I do have a point. I do believe Buck was attracted to Tommy, not because he had some great destiny to be the love of Buck's life, but because he did a few really cool things while helping to save Bobby & Athena's lives. Plus, Tommy did it in the coolest way possible. Helicopter pilots are cool, or they would be if they weren't dating one-half of your favorite ship. lol. Before the kiss, Buck wasn't self-aware enough to fully engage with his sexuality, I suspect that he handled his attraction to Tommy the way he handled it with other men before we knew him as a firefighter.
As we saw in a flashback, when Buck met a man he felt attracted to, he processed those feelings by befriending him. It was the same with Tommy. That is why he was at the hangar that day. When he offered to buy Tommy a beer, I truly think Buck thought he was making a new friend. If you think about it, you can see this was a pattern for Buck. He did have a meltdown over Eddie when they first met (but with Eddie, bigger things were and are still in play) It doesn't change the fact that once Buck got past his initial jealousy or whatever that was, he threw himself all in with Eddie. It was part of his pattern and part of #stagefour's hamster wheel. (Endgame will have Buck get off the wheel and look around. The person standing there was never part of the wheel, but the person waiting for him to stop and get off of it.)
The situation with Tommy is probably closer to how Buck reacted to his friend who wanted Buck as a sperm donor. Buck actually followed that 'friend' to Peru. I have a post from a while back where I discuss Buck sending mixed signals. In his mind, he is making a friend, but he is also unconsciously flirting. Tommy was the first to push through and just kiss Buck. I don't think this was nefarious so much as an attempt to interpret the signals Buck was sending. (I'm sure many see Tommy as having bad intentions but stick with me. I'm trying to put him into the context where Tim claimed he wanted him to be seen. Tommy was supposed to be a mentor or a more experienced man helping Buck navigate this side of himself.) As a teacher, Tommy did help him navigate, but he also let Buck set the pace. Although never shown, we know Buck is a very sexual being, and the deleted scene with Tommy, Hen, and Karen confirmed that Tommy was just trying to keep up with him.
But I digress. Buck's intention to befriend Tommy ended the exact moment that Eddie showed up at the hangar with a huge smile on his face. Stoic Eddie who does not show his emotions was smiling hugely. Even though this is from Buck's perspective and he is an unreliable narrator, it is plausible to me that Eddie would be excited to go to a live fight in Vegas. Oliver and Tim have talked a lot over the past few weeks about how Buck spirals. When Eddie left with Tommy, Buck began to spiral in a way that we have never seen before or since. He was absolutely unhinged with jealousy. There is no way that Buck, who didn't even ask about Tommy's dating history until six months into the relationship, was that insane to get the attention of a man he has known for a few days or weeks. Now that we are pulling in new material from the current season, it isn't even remotely believable that Buck's reaction was about Tommy.
If Buck had experienced some sort of love-at-first-sight moment with Tommy, then he would have asked Tommy about his past at the beginning of the relationship. In fact, people entering into something serious generally ask about past partners in the first few weeks of getting to know each other or before sex. The fact that Buck didn't, is a change in pattern for him. Buck typically throws himself all in and then when things go wrong, he doesn't know how he got there. (Also part of the hamster wheel.) However, I attribute the difference this time to the fact that, subconsciously, Buck knows what he's feeling. He can use his body. (borderline sex addict). However, he can't bring himself to share with Tommy what he already shares with Eddie, but you know our unaware cowboy can't see it yet.
At the hangar, Tommy didn't have a feel for Buck yet. However, by the end of the Vegas trip, I think he had picked up a good idea from Eddie that there was something there. (not because Eddie has made some sort of confession, but because I'm confident that Eddie talked about Buck nonstop. I'm hoping that we get some sort of confirmation of this in the current season. I don't want it to be forgotten.) At any rate, whatever conclusions Tommy drew from his time in Vegas with Eddie and the time they spent hanging out afterward didn't bother him enough to refuse to date Buck. I do think Tommy was longing for the family and support he could see Buck has with the 118, but I don't think he was ever planning a wedding in his head. In fact, I know he wasn't. That's part of why he broke up with Buck.
Sidenote: (Thanks to StageFourEddieDiaz, for pointing out how Buck failed to understand the mission from Josh's speech because this is what caused Buck to shift from not letting Tommy get too close to asking Tommy to move in with him.) Until the conversation with Josh, Buck was actively shutting Tommy out of anything other than sex and possibly learning the ins and outs of the LGBTQ community.
Again, in the beginning, this didn't bother Tommy. He knew what Buck needed, and as he stated a few times during the sixth episode, Buck was hot and fun. If you need examples of Buck shutting Tommy out, I point you to anything that happened in the Halloween episode. I'm not saying Buck didn't care about Tommy at all, but he was holding back. The look on Buck's face as Josh asked about his feelings really said it all. I think this is probably why Josh was a little shy of the mark when giving his speech about comphet. Josh had to give a long list of, "Do you feel "this or that" for your boyfriend of six months," before he finally hit on something that Buck did feel. I don't want to get off topic or repeat too much from the linked post, I just wanted to illustrate that the jealousy from Buck's coming out episode was 100% for Eddie and that it was something that Tommy realized before entering the relationship.
I know there will be some disagreement here, but I also feel like Tommy's feelings for Buck actually were on the verge of changing, and he hadn't expected that. When they were standing at the grave, Buck gave his eulogy directed to Billy Boils. Tommy's face went through a series of changes. First, he seemed annoyed or concerned. I couldn't quite tell, but the more Buck talked, the more you could see of our Buck. The guy with a huge heart who can empathize with the skeletal remains of a criminal. I'll link the clip for you to judge. What Buck had to say to Billy was more open and revealed more about Buck's character than anything he had been saying to Tommy over the past six months. It was a small scene, but one that probably came back to Tommy when Buck suggested moving in together.
youtube
It was scenes like this one combined with Tommy's exclusion from group chat, etc., that probably helped to remind him that Buck's feelings six months ago were not about him and nothing had changed despite Buck's suggestion that he move in. Tommy's insecurities took over and reminded him what the inevitable end was going to be for them. He was the first not the last.
For the past six months, he's known that Eddie was between them, but you could see how comfortable he was with it. He didn't seem annoyed by Eddie's presence at all. I disagree with either Tim or Oliver when they try to play up that Tommy was Eddie's friend and this was natural. Eddie and Buck met Tommy at the same time, and Tommy was trying to shoot his shot by taking Eddie to Vegas. I don't know what was discussed between Eddie & Tommy during those few weeks where Buck was being left out, but it is clear that whatever conclusion he had drawn from the Vegas trip had been solidified by what happened on the basketball court, so much so that he wanted to apologize to Buck in person. We all know how that went, and I still think that was a good scene.
This brings me to the breakup scene itself. In the end, when Tommy talks about how he didn't see it coming. I don't think he was referring to the breakup. I think he was referring to the feelings he caught close to the end. He thought he would help Buck, provide a safe space for Buck to explore that he personally didn't have, and have some fun with a hot young thing, but he let it go too far. (His reasons are pretty much part of what Tim has said in interviews.) I don't think Tommy realized how much he had gotten caught up in the fantasy of Buck until Buck asked him to move in with him. I do think he's sincere when he says his heart would end up broken because, despite his feelings, he still understands there is something between Buck and Eddie even if they don't.
(One side note. I agree with Buck that first and last can be the same thing. I don't buy into the belief that you have to be with dozens of sexual partners, but I also don't think that would have been the case with Buck. He is a sexual character, and he's openly curious. I know people were mad about the interview where Oliver talked about letting Buck F#ck, but I think that would be in character for an upset Buck who was just dumped. It is less about his sexuality than it is about his abandonment issues and neglect trauma. That's my take anyway. We'll see what Tim does with it. I do think the part of Buck that craves monogamy already belongs to someone else, and the di was cast before Tommy came into his life, and we are back again to the hamster wheel.)
youtube
If you stuck with me this long, thank you. I know there are few, if any, fans of Tommy around here so I appreciate that you were willing to objectively view him the way Tim kept trying to present him. I'm tired and I'm pretty sure I rambled a couple of times, but I do understand Tommy is a problematic character. I consider that to be a writing issue that never got a satisfying resolution. I'm equally aware some people hate him simply because he was with Buck. I'm not doing a lot of judging these days because I already know how unreasonable I'm going to be over Eddie being with another man. After seven seasons of subtext, they are already in love. These other relationships are like cheating. lol I'm not so secretly hoping that if Eddie needed a "first" he got it when he was a teenager or when he was in Afghanistan.
I can tell I'm going to be bad because when I see posts about Eddie sleeping with a priest, I want to scream into a pillow and pretend that I'm flipping over furniture and tossing chairs across the room. I just can't be reasonable. I would never attack the actors or writers though. That's not me. My jealousy is on Buck's behalf, and my bad behavior remains entirely inside my head. I don't know what they'll do with Eddie, but they are going to need a chat group to make sure Eddie's boyfriends do not meet with Buck's subconscious mind.

Breaking down all the Buddie from "Confessions"
Did I write a photo review with over 5000 words dissecting the episode? Yeah, I did... Hope y'all enjoy!
Gonna ignore the first call because other than the bad mustache CGI/shots where it's not even there, there wasn't anything of substance. I wonder if they used that old call cause they had to fill up time, were short on budget, something else fell through or what happened.
So let's move to Eddie going to church. After 23 or so years he felt the need to confess his sins. But after an explanation of the crazy stuff that went down with Kim, including mentioning how Eddie lied to his son, his best friend and his girlfriend, he concluded he's not deserving of forgiveness and fled. The priest looked conflicted and that's supposed to be that.
Eddie, catholic guilt and all, went to church to confess. It's like the most desperate measure, I imagine, but desperate times... He gave the priest his name. Interesting. I got so emotional when he described Chris and talked about his optimism. Lying to Buck was pretty much at the top of the list, huh? Like, Eddie knew how bad he was behaving because their relationship's made up of truths. His talk in the kitchen with Buck was actually instrumental to him seeing how wrong all of it was. They need to be married immediately. The fact that one of the prayers (?) Eddie was meant to repent with was called "Our Fathers" was also interesting because it's coming from a priest or father but also, more obviously, Eddie's got a million daddy issues. RamĂłn traumatized him and Eddie said he traumatized Chris and Chris ended up going to Texas to live with Eddie's father.
The Buck and T date scene was super interesting for many, many reasons:
Buck thought he had the upper hand, saying he'd pay for dinner and trying to get T to guess the reason behind it.
T already knew it's their anniversary, which Buck clearly didn't expect.
T didn't just know, he actually brought Buck a gift for the occasion.
Interestingly enough, last season we learned that Buck didn't like basketball in the episode in which his jealousy and Eddie and T and him being bisexual happened.
T, after SIX months of dating the man, somehow didn't know that and gifted Buck tickets to see the Lakers.
For some odd reasons, T told Buck he didn't even have to take him to the game, "Take Eddie if you want," he suggested.
Buck looked confused but not exactly averse to that idea and asked, "really?"
And then T went, "and die" and then Buck replied, "okay, that sounds right."
Now, let's go through all that. It's their anniversary, they're out for dinner, and they apparently had a good time and then it's like they're completely out of sync. Buck wanted to pay for dinner to commemorate their anniversary, thinking T had missed it, whereas not only did T not miss it but he also bought him a present. Problem was said present wasn't something Buck actually cared for, which T seemed unaware of. The joke about taking Eddie... Why even suggest that? Was that a test? Did Buck fail it by wondering if that was really a possibility?
Then the woman interrupted the date and asked for a picture, with some unnecessary touching involved. I truly didn't get why Buck grabbed his own phone to take the pics... Was this second nature to him? A practical way to have an excuse to ask for the woman's phone number to send the pics? She wondered this and Buck denied it but there's literally no other reason to do that. T looked at the whole thing amusedly. Buck took the pics and went back to the table, expressing how weird that was.
Was that weird? I'm honestly so confused by that scene, like... people ask strangers to take their pics all the time. Yes, some of those might be an excuse to flirt but they're at a restaurant, which isn't exactly the greatest place to be trying to pick up someone. Also, Buck made it weird with the whole using his phone thing. Even if the woman was flirting, which she seemed to be, it didn't have to be made into anything. We can assume from this that Buck is uncomfortable being flirted at in front of T but he might also not feel great about feeling attracted to somebody other than his boyfriend who's right there to see it all.
Here's where it actually got weirder. T acknowledged the fact that it's okay to look and then Buck remarked that T didn't do that. T explained he's gay by saying he's a Kinsey 6. Buck, for some reasons, didn't pick on the meaning of that so T had to explain it. That's just... I call bullshit on that. Buck, recently bisexual, lover of research and internet deep dives would know ALL about it. This scene, I gotta say, felt super wonky. At points it was meant to but at others, like this one, it just... felt off. There's also the fact that Oliver and L have zero chemistry...
Anyway, back to the date. So T didn't know that Buck disliked basketball and Buck didn't know that T was gay? After SIX months of being together? What in the hell? Why were they only talking about that at this point? I don't think full disclosure or knowing your partner's history is a must at all, but considering Buck's curiosity and the fact that he was newly out, I figured all these subjects would've part of the first conversations between them. I'm not sure what to think. Was the writing completely off? Were they unable to come up with a better excuse to bring about the past partners talk and resorted to this? It's baffling. And since it's canon, whatever the reason, I found that the whole date showcased how little they actually knew about each other, which could only be a bad sign of the things to come for their relationship.
Of course, after that comment, T revealed he was engaged to a woman and called it off. Once again, the dialogue... T saying the woman went "nuts" after their break up, taking up some "himbo" half her age... Buck figured she was just trying to get over T, and then he mentioned the name of the woman. Of course it was Abby. Of course. Buck was literally having a crisis there, but the waiter showed up and asked how everything was. T, completely out of tune with what Buck was clearly trying to process, said it was "perfect." The waiter asked if he could get them anything else and T said "no, I think we're good." Buck looked so the opposite of good. Then the waiter wondered "who gets the damage" and, at last, a flawless piece of dialogue with T pointing at Buck and saying "That would be him." Buck was handed the check and the waiter told him, "whenever you're ready, no rush" and left while Buck looked like he was having a heart attack.
So, yeah, the date was a complete disaster. It's a mix between the actors not clicking, the dialogue serving the plot instead of Buck as a character (and Abby and even the show) and finally the actual plot dictating that it had to be a disaster. Honestly, the moment this bit ended, I knew they were going to be done.
Next, Buck went to dispatch to talk to Maddie. Why didn't he talk this through with Eddie, Hen and Chim? Curious... Maddie wondering how many men Abby had turned gay was hilarious. But I can't believe they didn't squeeze in the fact that Buck's bi there. They didn't do it during the date, though it was implicit, but here they had the perfect opportunity since they hadn't done it before. It would've taken a second for Buck to correct Maddie. Again, the writing this episode was all over the place, specially cause Buck looked at Maddie offended and Maddie clarified she was joking but then Buck sorta explained himself and T... anyways. Josh showed up then, and something was totally off with the actor's hair btw, I couldn't focus for a second there.
Josh eavesdropped and caught the kissing a boy part and eagerly asked if there was another boy... Buck was quick to deny that. Well, there's Eddie... Maddie and Buck explained the whole situation and Josh apparently knew her but they weren't close. And then, again, this whole thing just didn't make sense. Buck remarked that T led her on, said he loved her and then hurt her. Maddie thought Buck was afraid T would do that to Buck but Buck denied this and said, "I thought I knew him" and that he didn't think T would be capable of being dishonest and cruel.
Let me rewind for a second. Why was Buck under the impression that he knew T? Buck didn't even know T was gay... Also, didn't Buck know about T's past? He was worse than cruel to Hen and Chim... Truly, was he not told about all of that? I just, the use of the world cruel here... don't get me wrong, leading someone on is cruel but the whole being gay and repressing it part, while not excusing it, would at least explain T's actions. But the way he acted towards Chim and Hen... that had nothing to do with self-repression. It just didn't. I need someone to explain to me in detail how come Buck was deluded to think he knew T when at this point I'd be shocked to learn he knew T's last name.
Then the Josh speech happened. I wasn't happy with it at all. First of all, what's Buck loving him to do with any of it? If T was a cruel person, then Buck loving him wouldn't justify any of what he did to Abby. Buck looked super not in love as an answer, which was hilarious to me because of course he didn't love T, he didn't know the man!!! Josh backtracked from that word and asked a series of questions aimed at... gauging how much Buck cared for T? IDEK, it was all pretty ridiculous from the start. Also, first two questions made sense for Buck to answer affirmatively but T was literally such a plot device that there hadn't been a single instance in which Buck had shown that he was thinking about T or making T's concerns and happiness his own. These things, though, get positive answers in canon as far as Buddie is concerned. The future question was interesting because Buck's answer was "I could." It's never a definitive answer, it's another instance of "I guess" from the time T echoed "my attention?" when they first kissed. It's like Buck was convincing himself then. Josh took that to advice Buck to stop judging T because Buck didn't know what he was talking about.
The speech went into pre and post Glee world and all that nonsense. I truly hate a lot of things this episode chose to be. Was mentioning a Ryan Murphy show in a RM show a necessity? I don't wanna get into what Glee did or didn't do for the queer world, the point here is actually moot because T and Abby weren't a thing before Glee. Again, whatever experience with coming out T and Josh had, it had nothing to do with what Buck was asking. Buck was worried about the side of T he claimed not to know and how cruel he could be. I think the way T referred to her and the situation was also pretty awful, in the present tense. Even if one thought T was protecting himself by being with Abby, there is still room for judgement. We have Hen and Karen, in this same show, not being cruel to anyone, for one. Also, T didn't fight a single battle. He treated his coworker who was out like scum and was racist towards Chim. T wasn't an activist fighting for his life and his rights, he was just a bad person all around as far as we know. He had no scars to show. We can pretend he had an internal battle, maybe a family issue with his coming out but there's nothing to honor him for.
I cannot believe this show did that speech so awfully and pretended it was the greatest thing since Jack Shephard's "live together, die alone." Truly, they thought they had done a brilliant job and it's utter bullshit throughout.
Moving on, Eddie went to get juice... but then he changed his mind and got water instead. Who's there to witness that but Father Brian. Eddie's outside, drinking his water looking gloomy about it when Brian asked him of he could take a seat. Eddie allowed him to and for some reason, as Brian was sitting down, looked around. Brian told Eddie about being there for the first time, as if compelled, and then asked Eddie if he went there often. Eddie immediately assumed he was being hit on. Now, whether this is indicative of Eddie being hit on a lot or he just took those words as the line they sometimes can be and interpreted it that way, I hope we'll find out soon. Either way, Eddie told Brian "no offense, I'm straight." The lady doth protest... Hilariously enough, Brian's answer wasn't "me too" or "I'm not interested" but "I'm celibate". Eddie took that in and then Brian introduced himself and revealed that he knew Eddie. Eddie was processing that and the Father part, his hand still in the air.
Brian mentioned that he noticed that Eddie chose the juice initially and then got the water instead. He asked Eddie why he did that and Eddie kinda asked "decided I wanted water?" Brian posed that Eddie was punishing himself, denying himself because Eddie didn't feel worthy. Eddie sighed and, "I don't feel worty of juice?" Brian went straight (haha) to the point, "Of joy." Eddie chuckled and looked around and spoke in a low voice as he said he didn't have a lot to be joyful about because Brian was bringing up something Eddie had confessed to him in public. Eddie's well aware he's in public... Brian started listing the things that Eddie had, Chris, his parents, his job and his mustache. Eddie was kinda not happy but that last one got him laughing and blushing. He then confessed that he grew the mustache because he couldn't grow a full beard due to the LAFD. Brian concluded the mustache was a disguise and Eddie said it was something like that. Brian asked what Eddie's afraid of seeing in the mirror and Eddie said, "A failure. A man who doesn't deserve forgiveness. Or joy." Brian said that's now what go wanted for Eddie, that he'd already forgiven him. Eddie repeated that he doesn't deserve that and uncapped the bottle to take a sip of the water. Brian told him to earn it, and to stop punishing himself in the meantime. He remarked that Eddie spent his life in service and he understood that but they couldn't take care of others if they didn't take care of themselves. Eddie smiled and said he understood and Brian told him that after praying, he wanted Eddie to do something frivolous, something fun, something that expressed pure joy. Eddie told him he'd think about it.
The Eddie scenes were clearly written by someone else because they were all pretty on point. We had Eddie conflicted, and while it could just be him preferring water (the alternative is truly devastating to me so I want to believe Eddie isn't punishing himself through food), Brian decided to go with it to get Eddie to reflect about what he was doing to himself and it worked. Eddie didn't run away like he did in church but Eddie was shown to be aware of his surroundings, so the fact that he claimed to be straight with all of his chest... Why did he do that? Why did he think he was being hit on in the first place? Why was that moment necessary within this scene? Was juice really a representation of joy? Was joy a metaphor for something else? What were tptb trying to show or say here? Would a heterosexual character need to affirm himself as such? Would a repressed one? Thoughts, so many thoughts!!!!
The well emergency happened and it wasn't about Eddie, but it was interesting cause they seem to be doing Greatest Hits for some reason... Now I gotta ask, wouldn't Eddie, as a medic, know that getting the kid oxygen wouldn't work? Why was Hen explaining that to him? Honestly, the writing this episode... Buck's first idea was to dig... funny. Eddie said someone had to get down there and Bobby told him he wasn't gonna fit this time. Interesting. Bobby announced they would pull the big brother out after two minutes no matter what, specifically addressing Buck and Eddie. Interesting.
So it wasn't about Eddie because it wasn't the same Eddie. The pipe was smaller and Eddie didn't fit. But Eddie also didn't fit himself. He disguised himself with a mustache to avoid looking at his face in the mirror because he felt like a failure. He was shown in an episode entitled "Masks" at home taking down Halloween decorations all on his own. Bobby made sure that both Buck and Eddie knew the clock was ticking and they had to abide by it this time. Unlike Eddie's well, when Eddie cut the line and Hen refused to have Buck look for him because they'd end up with two cut lines. No more lines being cut? No more alternative ways to escape? Maybe I'm reading way too much but the camera did show Buck and Eddie's reaction as Bobby singled them out.
Back at the loft, T said he had a spot right out front and they should Uber to the movie so he didn't lose it. That phrasing... Buck agreed but asked to talk first. T replied positively, "we got time." Again, funny way to put it. They were both going to the movies so why was T the one who was going to lose it if they didn't get the Uber? You know who actually got an Uber with Buck recently, right? Also, "we got time".... famous last words. He'd just said they didn't have time but then said they did and, well, as it turned out, they didn't.
They sat down around the island and Buck brought up the story at the restaurant that T shared with him about how he "almost got engaged." This was odd and T corrected Buck, "I did get engaged. What I didn't do is get married." Buck said he appreciated T's honesty and that he wanted to be honest with him. T knew this spelled trouble and Buck denied it before taking out his phone and passing it over to show T pictures of Buck and Abby. T was surprised at first but then he scrolled to a pic of Buck and Abby kissing. Buck announced he was the himbo. T agreed it was crazy, after Buck put it like that, but added it was a little awkward. Buck decided to go closer and said it was like that for him as well at first, and that he should had been honest at dinner, but T asked or gathered that it had freaked him out a little. Buck said yes to this and T explained that if he had known, he wouldn't had used the word himbo because he didn't think Buck's one. Buck claimed that he was, at least before Abby, because what they had wasn't that, not for him. Buck said it was the most transformative relationship of his life until then. Buck said one of the reasons he's comfortable with T was that T's comfortable with himself. T said he wasn't always that way and Buck said he's aware and it made him admire T more. And then dropped the bomb, saying he wanted T to move in with him. WHAT?
No, really, WHAT? Buck really got deranged thoughts cause why on Earth would he ask T to move in? They clearly didn't know each other, they didn't love each other either, so explain how this made sense?? I'm hoping that it's a case of tptb purposefully having Buck spiral and go from zero to a hundred. There's also parallels between this and Eddie and Marisol, with Buck and Eddie asking their partners to move in when their relationships were clearly not at that stage.
T's reaction to Buck's words was crystal. While Buck said he was ready to take the next step and then, for entirely insane reasons, made it clear that he wasn't proposing marriage and or an engagement, though that'd be a possibility thanks to the brave people that came before like T. WHAT? Really, no, I'm so serious. I fucking cannot with this dialogue. Moving in, the suggestion, was bad enough, but bringing up marriage? Attributing the fact that they had that right thanks to people like T? SERIOUSLY? This was atrocious. I know Oliver was thinking of his bank account while delivering those lines because they were as non sensical as they could get.
"Why be apart when we can be together?" Buck finally asked. T said that's sweet but he couldn't move in. Buck wondered the why and T answered, "Because... I know how this ends." And my heart literally stopped or skipped a beat or something. I legit thought he was gonna bring up Eddie or a hint and, well, he kinda did, though not directly.
Buck asked what that meant and T explained. He mentioned Buck's qualities but then said that Buck's feelings were new and so it was all exciting and it felt like forever but he's still figuring himself out, which was good. Buck asked what he was saying and T said that no matter how bad he wanted to be, he wasn't his last but his first. Buck interjected that they could be the same but T said they usually weren't. If he were to move in, Buck wouldn't mean to but he'd end up breaking T's heart and he didn't think he could deal with that. He got up to leave, saying he should go and Buck told him to wait and asked him if he had just broken up with him, to which T replied, "yes, I guess I did. Believe me, I didn't see it coming either. Should've known that parking spot was too good to be true. I'll see you around, Buck."
At last, free! But while the beginning of the conversation was terrible, it ended on a high note. There's a lot of questions, like: according to what he said, T knew there wasn't a future between them. So I'm guessing here that after six months, they hadn't actually discussed that because Buck was clearly on a different page. T knew they weren't long term while Buck was thinking of moving together and being together for good. Make it make sense, how were these two dating not knowing anything about each other and not discussing basic relationship stuff??? T knew that Buck had to figure himself out yet he was still with him hoping it'd be casual without actually talking about it??? Yet he later claimed he didn't see a break up coming and he could see his heart being broken?
Now, my shipper heart wants to believe the between-the-lines reading of this scene had Eddie written all over. Eddie is how it'll end... And the fact that T's answer to Buck's question contained the "guess" this time around, mirroring Buck's response to "my attention"... INTERESTING. It was all a guessing game between BT, It's also the first time he called Buck by his name, which was the first and probably last because we're not gonna see him ever again. I was glad Buck asked if they were done because we all know he got confused about it with Abby... So long, T, you will not be missed. Buck's loft door opened and later on, another did...
Finally, we had Eddie. My boy. Looking at himself in the mirror and getting rid of his disguise.
And then... I literally felt so many things at once, y'all! The music, the shot... I couldn't believe it was about to happen. And then the mole made an appearance and Eddie was wearing pink and tighty whities and I swear I couldn't. I just, even rewatching to write this... I love him so much!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy to see Eddie letting go of his disguise and allowing himself to have that joy. The fact that Ryan looked like that... I was fighting for my life the whole time, NEGL.
I kept thinking Buck was going to show up midway. I was truly bracing myself for it. But the doorbell rang. Eddie looked through the peephole. Buck was there. Eddie opened the door, nodded at him and Buck gave him a beer as an answer to an unasked question and got in. Eddie closed the door and looked at the beer, at Buck and at the beer again. He made a face and then climbed the sofa. Buck was already drinking when the camera panned to him. Eddie opened his beer and drank from it. Scene.
LISTEN. I was unhinged already because they had Ryan dancing like that. But then the final scene happened and I just... I don't know how I'll survive what I hope it's to come.
Let's break that one down:
Eddie decided to follow Brian's words. Eddie didn't forgive himself but he decided to stop punishing and disguising himself in the meantime.
The way Eddie looked at himself in the mirror, both before and after he shaved off his mustache... My heart!!!
Eddie allowed himself to do something frivolous, something fun, something that expressed pure joy. The fact that he chose to dance half naked around his house... that's very babygirl of him, and I don't say this lightly.
The pink... the moves like the ones from the bachelor party... I felt crazy.
I kept waiting for Buck to show up, like my mind was half insane at what I was seeing and half insane at the possibility of Buck seeing it as well.
The doorbell rang instead.
Why didn't Buck use his keys?
It was the perfect opportunity for Eddie to put on some pants. Eddie didn't do that⌠Neither before or after looking who it was.
But, really, why didn't Buck use his keys? WHY????????
Was it to hammer the fact that Eddie was comfortable opening up his door to Buck while not wearing pants?
Was it so Eddie could see him standing on the other side of the door, mimicking Brian's view of Eddie in the confessionary? Will there be something for Buck to confess in the future? To Eddie specifically???
Buck wasn't looking at Eddie when Eddie saw him behind the door, btw...
Eddie opened his door and they looked at each other and said not a word but understood each other perfectly.
I truly hate the continuity error with the shirt collar. It's gonna hunt me forever.
Buck made himself at home while Eddie considered the beer.
Remember how Eddie's choices were water or juice? Well, what about a third secret option? BEER. Buck's beer, in fact. INTERESTING.
I went nuts and will continue to go nuts at Eddie climbing the sofa. Whose choice was that? I need to know. It was so freaking cute!!!
The camera went steady and Buck was already drinking from his bottle. Eddie, on the other hand, uncapped the bottle like he did with the water, and the shot ended as he drank the beer.
The contrast in the colors of their clothes⌠the fact that Eddie was looking to the side while Buck was looking ahead.
Was all of this symbolic of the fact that Buck already figured his sexuality out while Eddie's just starting? I'd like to think so.
Was it symbolic of Buck reaching conclusions he'd later have to confess to Eddie before Eddie arrives to those same conclusions himself? I'd also like this very much.
Now, the episode was called "Confessions" and Buck and Eddie didn't speak to each other. Not a single word. Even in that last scene, the only one in which they actually interacted, they didn't use words to communicate.
I see this lack of dialogue between Buck and Eddie in two ways:
First, it could show how good a relationship Buck and Eddie have in order to not utter a sound and still get each other completely. Regardless of all the issues I had with the writing, I can safely say that Buck and T were the complete opposite and lacked communication all around. The space and lack thereof reflected this too. Buck and Eddie know each other so well and Buck went directly to sit down on the couch, waiting for Eddie. Eddie followed right behind. BT, though... Buck stepped away from their table and the whole conflict with T's dating history started. Buck sat very far from T at the loft and only got close to be broken up with. Incredibly enough, that final shot with Buck and Eddie sitting together at Eddie's couch was the first that ever happened... Maybe that's foreshadowing something else, like couch theory related stuff? I never really spiraled about it before but I might soon.
Second, it could indicate there's something Buck and Eddie aren't saying to each other. They didn't speak to each other because they can't -- they're not ready or aware that there is something to confess. They remained silent because it isn't time yet but if they were to confess something, it would be impossible to take back. It would change everything. It will.
This is a legit insane post. When I say they're driving me nuts, I mean it and this is proof. Even though it's the longest ever, I probably forgot stuff that I might add tomorrow.
Now please share your thoughts on the episode and Buddie and everything so I don't feel alone in my madness. <3

a/n: so...this week has been a LOT, i have many thoughts but they're all scattered and filled with rage so i'll save them for another time. the U.S election results have left me feeling both incredibly hopeless and numb and to counteract the heaviness of the moment, i decided to finish this fic instead of spiraling or doomscrolling. easier said than done but it's fine. thank you so much to the lovely person who commissioned this, i had a great time writing for this paring. i still don't feel super confident about my characterization of natasha but it's getting there đ
anyway, enough rambling, i'm sending you guys all my love and support, my askbox is always open <3

No one said being an Avenger was easy.
Outside of the long hours, and the possibility of the world ending every other day, there were the unmeasurable amounts of guilt and regret and worry that seemed to plague each and every one of them. They could probably keep a whole building of therapists employed with the amount of trauma they carried.
Everyone at the compound was well aware of their personal situations, but no two felt it as strongly as Natasha and Wanda. There was no denying how well they worked together, how easy their chemistry was, the way they knew exactly what to do to stop each other from spiraling when they needed it most.
Unfortunately, there were moments where their worries clashed together and left them feeling worse than usual.
Moments like today.
Wanda had been chosen to go on a mission without Natasha and the widow had managed to threaten just about everyone she could think of until she was able to go with her girlfriend.
It all would have been fine had the witch not been incredibly annoyed by what she felt to be an overreaction. Even that would have been fine if they hadn't ended up going on the mission while they were still upset with each other.
They weren't mad enough to not worry about each other, but they still chose to go separate ways and focus on getting different things done. Something that would have been fine had Wanda not been ambushed by far too many enemy agents at once.
Steve had been the closest one to the witch and had managed to get there before things turned too sour. Unfortunately, that had been enough to make the Widow spiral. She'd heard her girlfriend request backup in that shaky voice that gave away her fear and she'd been unable to do anything about it.
If Steve had taken any longer to get to Wanda...she didn't want to think about what could have happened. She couldn't think about it.
And yet it was the only thing on her mind on the way home.
The mission had been successful, but she still felt like a failure. Like somehow, despite how inaccurate of an assessment it was, it had all been her fault. If she hadn't allowed her ego to get the better of her, she would have been there. She would have been able to help her girlfriend before she got hurt.
The witch wasn't mortally wounded in any way, but that didn't matter to her.
Wanda, for her part, felt fine. Sure, she was sore and in pain and bleeding, but she was an Avenger, getting hurt came with the territory.
It became obvious to her that her girlfriend didn't feel the same way as her when the redhead decided to ignore her on the way home. The Quinjet was small, and yet the distance between them felt massive.
It wasn't like her to sneak into people's minds without permission, but this was different. This was Natasha, and her concern for her outweighed most of her guilt around using her powers around her.
Maybe it was a bad idea, but she did it anyway, and it allowed her to see the pain her girlfriend was carrying on her shoulders. It pained her to know Natasha was blaming herself. That she didn't believe she was worth all the love the younger woman had for her.
There wasn't an easy solution to that kind of guilt, but Wanda would be dammed if she allowed her girlfriend to continue to suffer in silence.
The second they landed back at the Compound, Natasha made her way to the witch's side. There was an unreadable expression on her face as she looked her lover over and she silently extended her hand out for her.
Wanda wasted no time in accepting her help.
They made their way to their shared room, holding onto each other a little tighter than necessary. Neither of them commented on it, though, they needed the physical contact more than they were willing to admit out loud.
The silence between them bordered on awkward, but they didn't even attempt to break it. They needed to have a long conversation and it needed to happen away from prying eyes and ears.
After a tense walk, they managed to make it inside their room, and Natasha instantly set the younger woman down on the bed. "Do you need to change your bandages?"
The mention of the badly wrapped bandages made Wanda chuckle despite herself. She wasn't sure whose idea it was to go on a mission without Dr. Banner who, despite how awkward he could be about it, always did a great job at patching them up when they were hurt. Sure, it wasn't his area of expertise, but he was much better at it than Steve.
"No, I'm okay," she replied, not aware of the effect her words were going to have on her girlfriend.
The Widow let out a loud scoff. "Oh, you're okay? You were stabbed and shot at but you're okay?"
"'Tasha-"
"Don't." Her tone left no room for arguing. "You're hurt, I'm allowed to be pissed off about it."
"I never said you couldn't be upset," Wanda muttered in response. "But that doesn't change the fact that I'm fine."
It was a shitty argument, but it was the best she could do given the circumstance. There was no way to win out over Natasha's stubbornness, so the only thing she could do was hope her words would eventually get through to her. That seeing her so sure that everything was fine would bring her out of the spiral she was stuck in.
The only response the Widow gave was a long sigh, her eyes betraying the true weight of her feelings.
Her hand reached out before she could stop it, and Wanda met her halfway, leaning into her touch with a small smile.
Natasha's fingers trailed across the witch's jawline as her eyes took in every little scrape that painted her delicate features. A part of her knew she was overreacting. That they're safe and sound and Wanda's injuries will heal in no time.
And yet, it was impossible to stop desperation from building within her. The worries that threatened to swallow her whole if she allowed herself to think about things too much.
"'Tasha." Wanda's voice was barely above a whisper as she tried to get through to her lover one more time. "I'm okay."
"You were hurt."
"I've been through worse."
The words were meant to be reassuring, but they had the opposite effect. If anything, they made Natasha feel more helpless. Like despite all her skills, all her knowledge, all her training, she'll never be able to keep her lover safe.
She'll never be enough.
"Stop that, you're more than enough."
Her eyebrow raised involuntarily in response. "Get out of my mind, little witch."
"Hey! It's not my fault your thoughts are so loud."
Despite the heaviness that still lingered within her, a chuckle managed to escape past her lips. In an instant, she leaned forward to press a quick kiss to Wanda's pouting lips.
It amazed her how soft the witch could be after all the pain and violence she grew up in.
More than that, it amazed her how quickly her mood was able to shift when she was with the younger woman. How easy it was for her fears to disappear when they were together.
A soft smile was written across her features when she pulled away from her lover, her eyes a mirror that reflected the affection that was clear in the witch's eyes.
"Let me fix you up, detka." Her voice was barely above a whisper, but there was no denying the weight behind her words. "I promise I'll be quick."
Wanda couldn't help but shift nervously in response. It wasn't like she didn't trust Natasha, of course she trusted the redhead, but she knew how she could get. How easy it was for her to get caught up seeing monsters instead of shadows.
"I...are you sure? My bandages should be okay for a few hours."
"Not with the way Steve wrapped them," Natasha replied with a hint of humor in her tone.
The humor wasn't enough to mask her worry, and yet Wanda felt herself relaxing a little. If it helped her girlfriend feel better, she had no complaints about allowing her to clean her wounds up a little.
"Okay."
It was a single word that conveyed the trust she held in the redhead.
Wanda shifted back on the bed until she was laying down with her head resting on their pillows. She'd been in this position many times before, but this was different. There was an edge of vulnerability that clung to the air between them, a need for reassurance that neither of them could verbalize.
Natasha moved closer, not quite settling between the witch's legs, simply coming close enough to reach for her shirt. Her hands shook slightly as she lifted her girlfriend's shirt, her eyes taking in every inch of smooth skin that was revealed to her. Her heart ached in her chest as she examined each and every one of the cuts and bruises that littered her torso.
"I promise I'm okay," Wanda whispered, noticing her girlfriend's hesitation.
"I believe you."
Still, her head ducked down until her lips met the skin that had been revealed to her.
The gasp that escaped past the younger woman's lips made her smile. She still didn't feel completely okay but the helplessness that had settled in her chest was slowly easing away.
Her lips traced every inch of battered skin they could reach, her hands pushing the fabric up and over Wanda's head. With her shirt out of the way, she was able to fully look over the bandages wrapped around her girlfriend's injuries. They didn't look as bad as she had expected them to and she subconciously let out a sigh of relief.
It didn't matter how many times she was reassured that the younger woman was fine, she needed to see it with her own eyes. To realize she wasn't bleeding out, there was no bullet lodged inside her, no sharp knife sticking out of her. She was fine.
She was safe.
And she was already arching her back in the way that made the Widow lose all of her control.
It wasn't about the pleasure, though. They both knew that. It was about comfort.
About being there for each other in the only way that was able cut through their anxieties. Maybe it was wrong to have to rely on the physical to get rid of the mental strain they were always under, but it made sense to them. More than that, it worked.
Because as much as they trusted and loved each other, being vulnerable wasn't something that came easy to them. Especially not after a mission when their fight or flight insticts were still on.
"I'm here," Natasha mumbled, shifting until she was hovering over her girlfriend. "I'm right here, Wands."
The words brought a beautiful smile to the witch's face. "I know...but you're still too far."
Wanda managed to work up enough courage to wrap her arms around Natasha's neck. She tried to keep her grip loose, just in case the Widow wasn't ready for too much physical contact.
"Patience," she replied. "I'm in the middle of something here. I still haven't cleaned you up."
The witch couldn't help but roll her eyes at that. The last thing on her mind right was her injuries. She felt fine. More than that, she felt weirdly needy and she needed her girlfriend's lips in a completely different spot.
She knew complaining probably wouldn't get her very far, but she couldn't help it. Maybe some light playfulness would help Natasha feel better.
"Come on, 'Tasha, that can wait. I need you right now."
The redhead paused for a second, green eyes focused intently on Wanda's face. She thought things over for a second, silently analyzing the situation in front of her. Her girlfriend seemed fine. All that seemed to linger were her wounds but not the pain they had initially brought.
It was irresponsible, she knew that much, but how was she supposed to deny her beautiful lover?
"How are you always so needy?" She replied, her soft smile growing just a tad bit teasing. "Don't tell me I've spoiled you too much."
"Maybe you have." Wanda shrugged. "There's nothing wrong with that."
"I beg to differ."
Natasha leaned down to capture the witch's lips again. This time, there was a little less softness to the contact and a little more urgency. And a lot of unrestrained desperation neither of them knew what to do with.
One kiss turned into two which turned into Wanda digging her nails into Natasha's shoulders while her hips bucked involuntarily. The Widow's thigh was too far to provide the witch with any real friction and yet it only made everything feel ten times more intense. An intensity that always seemed to catch up to them when they were together in such a way.
"Nat..." Wanda groaned, head tilting back in both pleasure and desperation.
"I know." Despite the teasing edge to her response, there was nothing but affection in her tone. Nothing but devotion for her lover. "What did I say about patience?"
One of Natasha's hands made its way between their bodies, her fingers tracing a path she knew by memory. The witch didn't seem to be in the mood for much teasing but she couldn't help it. There was something so exciting about turning her girlfriend into a desperate mess.
She knew, on some level, where it came from. That Wanda needed to be taken care of just as badly as she needed to be in control. They were on opposite ends of the same spectrum.
The witch arched her back in an attempt to push her chest further into Natasha's hand, a quiet moan leaving her lips as she teased her hardned nipples. "Stop teasing."
"I've barely started, detka. Don't tell me you already can't handle it?"
"You're so mean."
"You like it."
Wanda didn't have any time to refute that claim because right when she opened her mouth to speak, the redhead decided to finally give in to what her body needed.
"I oh-" The witch's body shuddered as Natasha's hand moved down, slidding into her tight pants and cupping her wet heat. The fabric of her underwear was still in the way, but neither of them cared too much about the obstruction.
Matching moans left their lips as the Widow found the wet spot staining the younger woman's underwear, her fingers moving over the soaked fabric with renowed purpose.
"What was that?" Natasha teased. "Were you going to say something?"
Her girlfriend's tone had Wanda clenching around pure air, her hips bucking involuntarily in search of more friction. "N-no."
"Are you sure? I can stop if you need me to."
"Fuck no. Don't stop...please."
"Good girl."
The praise sent shivers down Wanda's spine and effectively turned all her thoughts to pure mush. It should have been embarrassing how quickly she fell apart for her lover and yet all she could feel was pleasure. And maybe a little pride at how fast she managed to make Natasha give in to what she wanted.
That sort of pride was mutual, though, and it caused desire to thrum in their veins. Desire for what? That wasn't as easy to figure out. Thankfully, they had nothing but time to try.
Natasha quickly grew tired of teasing her girlfriend. Not because she didn't want to keep doing it (she really really did), but because she could tell she needed more. And after the day they'd had, she wasn't sure she'd be able to deny the witch anything.
Her fingers slid inside Wanda's ruined underwear, relishing the loud gasp that escaped the younger woman when she brushed against her clit. The witch was always sensitive, and today was no exception. It made these kinds of moments all the more exciting for her.
"Oh, fuck." Wanda's voice came out more like a whine than anything else. "Please."
"Please what?" She responded, leaning down to trail kisses down the witch's jawline. "Use your words like a good girl."
The only response she could form for a few seconds was another whine. Natasha always knew exactly what to do, exactly what to say, to help her sink down into that fuzzy, submissive headspace she was slowly getting used to. They hadn't done much exploring, too busy with never-ending missions to safely allow the witch to slip, but the safe experimentation they'd done had taught them both more than enough.
Mainly, it taught them how much they both thrive in that type of scenario. How much they depend on each other, on and off the battlefield.
"Don't stop," Wanda begged, feeling her hesitation fade away with every second that went by. "Touch me, fuck me, anything, please."
If Natasha was in a crueler mood, she would have taken her time to tease the younger woman. To play with her until she was a writhing, whimpering mess beneath her.
As fun as that sounded, she wasn't in the mood for that today. She wanted to let go. To help Wanda let go until all that was left was the two of them, locked together, in the sanctuary of their room.
"That's my girl." Her words were accompanied by the movement of her fingers. They slid through Wanda's slick folds before slowly easing in to her cunt. "Fuck, you're soaked for me, detka."
The witch was more than wet enough to take Natasha's fingers but the Widow still took her time, working two fingers inside and diligently watching her lover's face contort with pleasure. The way her walls fluttered around her was intoxicating, drawing the digits in deeper and practically begging her to stay buried inside her.
She moved slowly. Not because she wanted to tease but because she wanted to draw out the sensations. To overwhelm Wanda with the devotion she couldn't properly express most days.
To be fair, it didn't seem like the younger woman minded. They were both broken, albeit in different ways, and they seemed to understand eachother without words. It was the most comforting thing either of them had ever known.
But God, she was so afraid of losing this. Of losing the one good thing she had. The one person who didn't see her as the Black Widow or a S.H.I.E.L.D. product. To Wanda, she was simply 'Tasha and it meant far more to her than anything else.
It wasn't hard for Wanda to realize the change in her girlfriend's thoughts. The sudden change in her breathing, the glosiness that overtook her eyes. She knew exactly what it meant and she knew she had to do something before the redhead started drowning in her thoughts.
So, she did the only thing she could think of right now. Mainly because thinking was getting difficult and it wasn't like she could move around too much with the Widow's fingers buried in her pussy.
Her hands moved to Natasha's face, cuping her cheeks and bringing her closer until their lips met once again. The kiss was a stark contrast to the movements of the redhead's fingers, but neither of them seemed to care.
All they cared about was being together.
Wanda pulled away first, her panting breaths turning into whimpering gasps. The coil in her stomach was about ready to snap, her hips bucking desperately into the readhead's hand. "Nat- I can't, I need-"
"What do you need, detka?" She asked, even though she already knew the answer. She couldn't help it, she loved the way the witch's eyebrows furrowed in frustration when she interrupted her just to tease her.
"Need to cum, please-" Her words turned into a moan when Natasha's thumb found her swollen clit. "Please, can I cum?"
The desperation in her girlfriend's voice made the redhead smile proudly. It was hard to think about her fears when she had the witch like this. Completely and utterly under her spell.
"Of course," she replied, speeding up the thrusts of her fingers in an attempt to bring Wanda even closer to falling apart. "Come on, be a good girl and cum for me."
The witch felt overwhelmed in the best way. All she could think about, all she could feel, was Natasha. Her words, her hands, the pleasure only she was able to bring her. It was all too much yet it felt so good.
Her walls clenched around the Widow's fingers as she lost control of herself, giving in to the pleasure and letting everything else fade away. All it took was a few sharp thrusts of Natasha's fingers before she was moaning her lover's name, her eyes squeezing shut while she rode the waves of pleasure that crashed into her.
The redhead worked her through her orgasm, making sure to slow down a little to avoid overstimulating the younger woman. She leaned down to pepper kisses across each and every inch of Wanda's neck to help ground her a little more.
Neither of them were sure how much time went by before Wanda was able to open her eyes again, but when she finally did, the large, slightly goofy, smile on her face instantly gave away how she was feeling.
Still, Natasha asked anyway.
"You okay?"
"Hmmm, yeah."
The Widow chuckled, her heart practically bursting out of her chest at the sight of Wanda so happy and relaxed. It was a sight that never failed to make her feel better, no matter how shitty her day had been before.
"Good." She placed a few extra kisses across Wanda's face before shifting further down her body. "Because we're not done yet."
Natasha was talking about the remaining injuries she hadn't taken a look at yet but if they got up to other things too...well, she wouldn't complain about that.

Sooo I started to read other articles. I didn't after reading the ones that came out right after the episode that justifiably got everyone upset.
This one from tv insider had Tim saying this:
Moving on to Buck and Tommyâs breakup, talk about your approach to it. Why was Tommy sure that Buck would break his heart?
Tommyâs older and Buck is very new to this, and whether Tommy was correct or not, I think what he felt like was exactly what he said: Iâm not your last, Iâm your first, which is a special thing to be, but as Tommy says, it doesnât usually end up being the same thing. And I think based on what we know of Buck, heâs maybe not wrong. Buckâs a little impulsive when heâs feeling a certain kind of way. Heâs like, move on in, bring your couch. So I just think because Tommyâs a little older and wiser or maybe at some level he feels like he doesnât deserve Buck, I donât know. But I think he accurately diagnosed Buck. Buckâs still figuring himself out, and boy, that would be quite risky to move in with that guy as much as you would love to.
That does seem to be Buckâs go-to, which isnât the best.
Exactly.
Are we going to see Buck single for a significant period of time now? Is he trying to figure out what he wants really out of a relationship?
Yeah, I think thatâs right. As Tommy said, youâre still figuring yourself out, and his options have increased by 50 percent of the population. So knowing Buck, thatâs going to be choice overload. Heâs got to navigate that with a little self-awareness.
--
So they definitely planned for this. That's what this reads like...they wanted to break them up so that they could send Buck through a period of exploration. Tim says everything Oliver said here in much nicer terms. His view of Buck is so...Idk, it's like he sees Buck as a kid that still doesn't know what he wants. And he decided to put that view right into Tommy's head too. It's a little jarring I guess but this show...has it ever been consistent?
What sucks is that 8x05 was written like they were doing so well. And then right off the back with 8x06 we have warning signs in the date scene with the girl that approaches Buck and how Tommy sort of shrugs off Buck checking her out. I really do wonder where hot waiter fit into this and I'm so glad we didn't see Tommy like checking hot waiter out or something. But I guess that scene was there to sow the seeds. We have Buck spiraling because of the Abby thing and we have Tommy maybe not realizing but reinforcing for himself that he's a stepping stone for Buck and being okay with it in the status quo.
The way that Tim speaks about Buck asking Tommy to move in, he makes it seem like Buck is just barreling in without thought...like if they went through with it Tommy might be proven right. But then what is the point of the scene with Josh where Buck is right on the cusp of an "I love you" just to then be like no actually Tommy knows how this ends and he can read Buck and knows they're not forever. But Tommy is not a mind reader.
Where there is hope is in that Tim doesn't outwardly say anything about Tommy being gone for good. As someone else pointed out the Lou interviews were done by buddie journalists with a bias so there is a question to how much that colored what we got and why they were so determined to close the door fully. Also...why did we get exit interviews in the first place for a character that only had three episodes...it's so odd.
The writers made a point of leaving this open. Do I think we'll get Tommy back any time soon. No. But after the doom and gloom and the time to mourn this a bit I want to be positive and there is really no knowing. Tim says he thinks Buck will be single for a while...okay fine...picture that being the rest of this season.
Buck won't just jump into another relationship...and Oliver gets his Buck slut era 2.0...what if S9 brings back Tommy? What if this is the long game...or at least the thing they can have in their back pocket if Lou is available later on to come back. But that's not something they can promise or that they can commit to and Lou isn't on contract clearly and Oliver wouldn't know if that's the plan...hell even Tim probably doesn't know if they'll do that. Or I'm giving him too much credit because as we've seen this season storylines have been rushed to close up at breakneck speeds so it would be an anomaly for him to prolong something like this.
All this to say, showing the network and Tim that bucktommy matters to a lot of people and that Tommy matters...it may just make a difference.
#911 abc#bucktommy#tim minear#911 discourse#911 spoilers#I said I wasn't going to keep looking at stuff but then I accidentally opened this article and also the variety and thr ones with oliver#they made me wonder#and ponder#right now my view is the door is open and they could revisit at any time and make them have another go at it#but it won't happen any time soon#certainly not this season#but it also leaves tommy as an option for buck if they need to just quickly close up the series as a whole#but idk this is me being delulu about it

Chapter 1. Fun Times & Potty Rooms
Summary: Dearest Gentle reader, as another season starts so do the surprises. Masterlist // Next Chapter Words: 1,517 Listen to: What's Up? -by Non 4 Blondes A/N: Don't forget to leave feedback, please! -Danny
Dear Diary,
Mother insists I write even though she knows this isn't what I meant when I said I wanted to write. I'm not a self-referential lady who enjoys talking to herself; in fact, I believe it is quite silly and embarrassing. But alas, I am writing. To myself.Â
Why, you ask? Well, for the first time in my five-and-twenty years of living, I'll spend some time away from home. Mother thinks it's time I do so, otherwise I'll be a perfect stranger to other royals and no one will know of me once I become Queen. When I said in jest that it was my intention, Mother didn't laugh. Which hurt plenty, because she usually laughs at the nonsense I spit. Which means she must want me to mingle and socialize. Lord have mercy on all of us.
Mother used to be just like me when she was my age, but she is so regal nowadays that you wouldn't believe she used to trip over armour and set fire to gentlemen's suits. My father fell in love with Mother because she was fire, he often jests.
Are these the things one writes in a diary? I must admit I'm doing this with half a mind since I'm also watching over my twin brothers, Richard and Rowan, and my younger sister Marie, so they do not fall off of the moving carriage. I wish I were more like Marie, graceful and charming, she's all dad.Â
I'm boisterous when careless, with my head in the clouds and unable to land swiftly... How is this journey to England going to change that? A bunch of mummies live in that palace. My maid said they are the most rigid crowd I'll ever meet.
The fun awaits.
Benedict rises from his slumber tangled in two different bodies, with the sun streaming down on his face and immediately heightening the dormant headache. When he props himself up, the man on his right rolls over groaning and covering his head with a pillow, then the woman on his left curls away from him, pulling the covers closer to her bare body, baring Benedict and showing the marks all over his body. He used to find satisfaction in them, but lately, the day after his love affairs has been causing him a most unpleasant irk.
Maybe it's time to... settle down?
Benedict shrugs off the thought with a grimace. A boring aristocratic life accompanied by some sensible woman sends him reeling, it's all a bit too serious, and deep within his heart, he's always felt that he could not possibly abandon this type of life. Such a wide variety of companions to love... Why would he quit it?
No fun at all.
You step out of the carriage and your foot slips. Helped by the footman, you give him a soft thank you and offer him a kind smile, but he doesn't look up at you at any moment. You sigh, realizing this trip is bound to be exactly what you imagined.
Your siblings hurry after you and you chastise them. Even though you're around the same age, the twins are just entering their twenties, therefore it's hard to make them understand being loud and bold isn't cute anymore. Your sister holds your arm as she looks up at the castle with curiosity.
"Ample..." Marie says bemusedly.
"All that wasted space," you sigh. "They don't have toilets here, so you'll have to go in your room in a pissy bowlâ"
"Y/N," your mother, Queen Amelia, stops beside you giving you a look. "Don't even think about complaining in the Queen's presence... but call it a potty if you are to be funny. Pissy bowl makes you sound five."
You and your sister giggle, which makes your mother send a conspiratory wink your way. A lovely woman. Your father, King Nicholas, comes up the steps and presses his hands to your backs, urging the two of you to enter the castle.Â
"In girls, it looks like rain..."
"Are we to spend all of our time indoors, then?" Your sister pouts.Â
"That is less than ideal, considering Y/N is here to be outdoors for a change, but I suppose it depends on the weather," your father glares at the sky. "England wishes to give us a proper welcome."
"No, thank you!" Marie picks up her pace.
"I spend time outdoors," you argue under your breath.
The man smiles. "Let me rephrase, then. To meet new people and spend time with them outdoors."
As you enter the wide hall you're welcomed by the Queen of England and her many children. A few are closer to your age, but you do not like the way the male part of the bunch eyes you and your sister. Or the way the Princesses look at your brothers, for that matter.
"Your Majesty, Queen Amelia of Genovia. King Consort, Nicholas Devereaux, and their childrenâ Princess Y/N Devereaux, Princess Marie Devereaux, and the Princes Richard and Rowan Devereaux."
While the girls curtsy and the boys bow, the queens greet each other. Queen Charlotte spares a brief glance toward your father and a little 'hmph' escapes her lips with no further comment. King Nicholas, a man with a sense of humour, glances your way and pretends to loosen his cravat anxiously while gulping, which makes you giggle.
"Ah, Benedict, there you are," Violet surveys her son over the teacup she's holding. "Took you long enough to join us. Where have you been?"
"Morning, Mother, I apologize," he smiles and sits next to Gregory. "I woke up early and walked around Hyde Park hoping for inspiration to strike."
"Seems to me you were the one striking," Colin mutters across the table, eyeing his brother's neck with a grin. Benedict pulls his cravat higher up and glares at his brother to keep quiet.
"Benedict, did you hear the news?" Hyacinth speaks, almost shaking with excitement. "A royal family is attending the first ball of the season!"
"There is always some royal family at balls, isn't it?" He retorts without interest.
"The Queen and King of Genovia are staying in London for the whole season," Anthony says carefully. "Along with their two daughters and sons. I expect you to keep the family name as pristine as ever."
"Is this why you're here and not at home with your wife?" Benedict asks. "You came to scold us ahead in case we were planning to make a fool of ourselves?" Anthony doesn't dignify the question with an answer, he looks at his brother with a steely glare for a few extra seconds before he goes back to his food. Like I care about flimsy princesses, Benedict thinks with disdain.
"Whistledown says this will be the first public appearance of Princess Y/N!" Hyacinth continues, unbothered by her brothers's lack of excitement. "I wish I were old enough to attend the ball..." She turns to Francesca and Eloise. "Will you try to befriend her for me? She must be your age."
Eloise scoffs. "Befriend a princess? If she's anything like ours, she'll be all night fanning herself looking down at every poor mortal that dares walk within her breathing distance."
"They're not quite like us," Colin points out, just as fond of gossip as his sister. "Ever since Queen Amelia ascended to the throne, Genovia has been known for their... er... forward thinking."
Benedict snorts. Whatever royalty considers "forward thinking" is not even halfway there. Eloise, however, leans on the table wanting to hear more of it. "What do you mean, brother?"
"Women are encouraged to get higher education. They participate in sports, hunts, artsâ and can wear male's clothingâ"
That pulls a gasp from their mother and Eloise, although they're both different sounds in nature. Violet blushes and replies in a shy voice. "Oh, well... if it works for them..."
"They're well on their way to becoming a leading nation," Colin continues excitedly. "Which is why the Queen has invited them. Whistledown made a joke last month... something about England living in the Dark Ages and being the reason why people branch out and leave the country, claimed that Genovia would double in size thanks to us... it was quite merciless."
Anthony shakes his head. "You let women do stuff they're already doing in the privacy of their homes and call it revolutionary. Please."
What would the Queen of Genovia think of people like Benedict? Maybe he should visit the country, perhaps this very season, he would try anything just to escape the usual horde of debutants and dull social events...
"Well, there is a great deal of difference between having to be private and choosing to be," Francesca argues. Benedict smiles at her, a silent compliment he gives every time she outwits Anthony.
"There are other things happening in Genovia, it's not all about women," Colin shrugs it off. "I was just giving an example I knew would interest Eloise the most."
"And which ones were left out of your consideration?" Eloise grins.
"The potty rooms," he states, making Gregory choke on his tea.

How many times now have I said "I'm never opening Netflix again"? I love to just not take things too seriously and enjoy what I get when it comes to shows, all too often I've seen fans talk mad shit or abandon ship over perceived slights or minor infractions, but the past couple years I have been utterly gobsmacked by the egregious shit they have done. Incredible shows like Lockwood and Co getting cancelled after one season with zero explanation. Spin-off for Six of Crows being in massive demand, fucking stellar cast, COMPLETELY WRITTEN and then dropped. A multitude of multi-season shows taking a meteoric nosedive in writing quality that has me genuinely wondering, did they switch to AI for this?? Did they hire a wattoad teen from off the street??
Everyone's got their favorite cancelled show, but the recent trend of just absolutely sabotaging your most beloved shows on the way out instead of ending strong to keeping to ANY sort of character arcs or thematic consistency? Agonizingly heinous. If you saw my blog earlier this year you'll know how I felt about the final season of Umbrella Academy, one of the best shows the platform ever put out (viewers know. Not a soul was anything less than heartbroken, and it's rare to see universal opinions online) and today they crippled Outer Banks by writing off the most popular character- and in doing so the ship he was a part of- by killing him. A character once again (TUA reference, once again my fucking favorite ofc) who was abused in childhood, fucked over every moment in life until finally, finally having a chance at peace and then having it nonsensically ripped away for a completely devastating, unecessary, and thematically inappropriate to the show and arc reason. If they're trying to save their platform, they're sure as hell not gonna do it by annihilating every good thing they have.
And on a final note, the particular trend of taking abuse victim characters who have been nonstop shit on by life and then giving them equally tragic, miserable endings no matter what the earlier writers had clearly set up is so fucking disheartening, disrespectful, and dangerous. I can't recall one show they've put out that chose to tackle abuse, especially childhood abuse, that didn't end in a miserable person who was never able to meaningfully connect long term dying horribly. The message that sends to those of us who have actually experienced it- and are statistically prone to harming ourselves as a result- is that there is no hope. You are permanently broken. And sooner or later you will die a miserable death just like every moment you lived- there's no point. Why bother extending your suffering? Just get it over with. Meanwhile those responsible act like the response should be, "Oh yeah, and sad claps, how misfortunate. Just the way it goes I guess. We all love a good tragedy đ". No. We don't. We are tired of it. We are exhausted. Society and reality fucking sucks right now, we don't need every single bit of media, regardless of tone or themes, to be "gritty" with its most vulnerable and beloved characters.
It's painful, it's personal, and it's not even a good business model! People love these characters BECAUSE we're rooting for them!! We want to see them win after all the suffering!! To remind us in our real lives it is possible, and life is worth it!!
#So fucking tired#And done with this shit#lockwood and co#outer banks#obx4#Tua#the umbrella academy#tua season 4#Tag your sabotaged favorite.

Iâm honestly really worried right now with how nasty this has all gotten so fast.
I feel so bad for Oliver. His entire storyline heâs waited years to tell has now completely been hijacked from start to finish thanks to Lou and his cult.
The disgusting things being said about Oliver. About Ryan. The show itself. All with Lou liking and engaging with them playing up the poor me card with them.
Like they are literally demanding Oliver be written off the show as punishment and any future Buck scenes they already filmed scrubbed out. I saw a few say deport Ryan back to Mexico and then write Eddie off by sending him to Texas permanently and send Buck with him. Some saying Lou should have been kept on and Oliver let go.
Like itâs all insane. And none of them deserve it because they didnât do anything wrong. No one misled or promised or lied. They have been open and transparent about BT from the start. Tim literally said at the very beginning this was an entry level relationship. No wedding bells.
Iâm also getting worried the network is going to pull the plug on buddie because even if itâs not us doing it, they might not wanna deal with the insane blowback these people are causing and will cause when buddie happens.
Don't worry Nonny. Like I said before, Oliver will be fine. Ryan will be fine.
Oliver has disabled comments on his post on Instagram because he knew exactly what was coming. They are both probably avoiding social media right now, but I'm also certain they'll be back as soon as the worst is over.
The show never made any promises about BT. On the contrary, they made it very clear, since day one, that Tommy was there to be a plot device. Eddie was all over the BT narrative in both seasons. In season 8 BT were still in the same place they ended in season 7. There was no growth whatsoever. Also, there was no buildup at all for them. Tommy just existed next to Buck in episode 5, but there wasn't one single sign of physical affection. Even in episode 6 there was only a cheek kiss. It reminded me of Eddie kissing Ana when he returned home after the shooting. A single cheek kiss. We all know how that relationship ended.
I wouldn't worry too much about the network. It seems bad right now, because they are all being loud and obnoxious, but the BT fandom is actually quite small compared to the Buddie fandom and the general 911 fandom. Their voices will be drowned out by all the positivity in the end. These BT stans will stop watching the show, but it won't even make a dent in the ratings. There's only a few hundred of them.
I checked Instagram and I've already seen so many positive comments, saying it was one of the best episodes of season 8, praising all the actors and crew for their hard work.
So don't worry. ABC knows exactly what Buddie could mean for the show. It would most definitely increase the popularity. Bi Buck already brought in a lot of people (some of them who have already left us again since Thursday evening), but a lot of them are here for the bi representation and they are here to stay.
So imagine how crazy things would get if Eddie would turn out to be not so straight after all and very much in love with his best friend? And Buck finally figuring out who he really wants?
The episodes leading up to them finally getting together would draw in so many new people who heard that those two 'gay firefighters from 911' are finally getting together after 7 loooong seasons.
ABC doesn't care about a few hundred people throwing a tantrum under a social media post. They do care for ratings and making a profit. That's it.
ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Tell you one thing though: After what he has done? Lou will never ever work on anything for ABC again, which means that we won't ever see him back on 911 and that's a beautiful thing. đđ

You have to kidding when you say lokius or whatever is the superior Loki ship? Just because you ship it that doesn't make it superior. On top of that Mobius is the ugliest person to ever ship loki with
man, fuck off. someone asked me my opinion on Loki ships and I responded with my opinion on Loki ships. this is that whole "everyone on tumblr is chronically online and thinks every post must be About Them Specifically" bullshit I was talking about earlier. a girl can't even call her fav ship superior in her own post about her own ships without some asshole getting mad that I didn't account for Every Single Marvel Fan's Opinion Ever. make your own post about your own favorite Loki ship if you're this bitter idfc just go away
#also imagine thinking 'he's ugly' is a good defense about why you don't like a ship?#especially when that ugly person is Owen Wilson as Mobius M Mobiusâ the most precious bean of all precious beans???#when i look at Mobius I don't even see Mobius okay when I look at Mobius i see a being who descended from the heavens#Jesus Himself wept the first time He saw Mr. Mobius M. Mobius because He knew He would never live up to this man#I don't see how you can be upset with *me* for seeing Mobius for the beautiful wholesome fantastic man he is#is it my fault that you're too blind to see the complete and utter adoration Mobius has for this manâ this godâ this BEING he's been#searching for for years? is it my fault that you don't understand how deeply and hopelessly in love Mobius fell before hed even met a Loki?#your ignorance to the greatest love story of all time reflects only on yourselfâ anonâ not on me#fr tho jokes aside i dont give a fuck what you ship and what you don't ship just keep that shit to yourself and your anti community#like why do you hate happiness anon?#when taylor swift said 'i want to be defined by the things that i loveâ not the things i hateâ not the things that im afraid ofâ the things#that haunt me in the middle of the nightâ' she was handing you a guide on how to be less of a miserable fuck and you just threw it out the#window#I'm not even mad man i just feel bad that your life is so miserable you gotta send mean anons about pointless shit#(also the fact that i wrote a whole paragraph praising thorki and you had an issue with my one sentence about lokius is embarrassing đ)#look i have an ask#i need to stop posting at night because this was a lot of tags for an ask that I'll forget about in 20 minutes lmao
