Sun-kissed Siren
Chapter 1 His Tsawksyul
Paring: adult ao'nung x fem!dreamwalker adult reader
Word count: 8.8k
Warning: suggestive language and a fastish burning bright love trope, but there will be smut,
Y/n sat with the other scientists the only one without an avatar, it wasn’t by choice you had to wait another month or 2 before it was ready as one of the last scientist to arrive your avatar had to be made on planet nearly 6 long years ago. You watch the other avatar drivers interact with the Na’vi while you in human form swung in a hammock anchored by 2 floating mountain pieces above the main hut of the avatars wishing you could have gone with Neytiri and Jake not that you didn't like it here, It was just painfully obvious how different you were but similar that and you really couldn’t help much outside helping Moat with post raid injuries.
“Y/N!!” A voice calls out causing you to look over the edge down below to see Norm. You make a loud chirp from the back of your throat to get his attention and jumps down “ there you are come on get changed and grab whatever you need we are going to the reef clans to meet up with Jake and to check in on things” If you had a tail it would have been thrashing in excitement Norm giving a smile at your obvious elation he had to admit out of all the scientists you were the most fascinated by this world but you adapted well to pandora as if you were born on the wrong planet. “Give me 30 minutes i swear i will be quick” you grab your bag stuffing the myriad of things you had made for not only your best friends Jake and Neytiri but for their kids who had taken to calling you their aunt. You knew from what Norm and Max had said about the reef of pandora and the clans; by the sea , sunny, something different from the humid forest.
You quickly change clothes from your normal wrapped halter crop top and double slit skirt to a simple black cropped tube top with a matching bikini bottom and a hand woven sarong kiri helped her make one hot summer day as they sat cooling off by the river and your bare feet even before getting to pandora you hated shoes and now in a clan that saw no use for them you ditched them day one. You kept your hair out the hip length mass of waves and curls would take too long to wrangle you can maybe get Kiri or Tuk to help.
Norm looks at you trying to hold in a laugh “ going to the beach y/n?” You punch his Navi form in the leg “shut up Norm until my avatar body is ready im a freaking recluse let me have this, breathing implant or not it sucks being stuck here 90 percent of the time “ you protest as the helicarrier took off to the reef clans.
Ao'nung was walking along the beach clan duties had been cut short though he had no idea why until he saw his sister chatting with the 4 sully kiss who looked excited "Y/N is coming today" Tuk said excited her voice reaching his ears. "It's been so long I wonder if she brought us gifts she said she would" she says. His sister Tsireya looks confused but happy for their excitement as she touched Lo'ak's arm. "Who is Y/N?" Loak smirks looking genuinely happy when he spoke "our Aunt she is very close with our dad and mom even helped fight against the sky people which is a lot seeing how she is a sky person" he says. Ao'nung scoffs a sky demon betraying its own kind. "Well she shouldn't be here she can't even adapt or connect." He mutters, before anyone could answer the loud sound of the helicraft flew over them to a open spot on the beach. Tuk runs happy "come on come on let's go she's here" she calls the others trailing behind.
Y/n stepped off the craft jumping down humming feeling the soft sand and salty air on your skin you could sunbathe and bask in this for hours "I'm in love already" you murmurs your honey brown eyes sparkling with happiness. "Y/N!!!" You smile hearing Tuks voice and look around seeing a much larger Tuk as well as Kiri, Neteyam, and Loak. "TUK TUK!!!" You call back running as fast as you could kicking sand as you went hugging her she was now almost a foot taller than your 5ft 9inch form. She hugs back "I've missed you….there are so many things….. you're hair it's longer its not up" she says. You laugh and greet them all "well it's been cooler up in the mountains I can afford to let it out I would have braided it but it would take too long." She gives them each a hug before looking over seeing Jake and Neytiri talking with Norm "well I'll say hi later how about you show….." you trail off seeing the two Metkayina standing off the first thing you noticed was their hair it was just like yours you also noticed the difference between them and the omatikaya. Your heart does pick up when you meet eyes with the male his hair was in braids that were contained in a tight bun a part of you wondered what it looked like loose your eyes travel down taking in the rest of his form; the x rib cage broad shoulders and chest strong arms one bare the other covered in intricate beautiful tattoos as ypur eyes traveldown to the same leg covered in eaqually as unique tattoo although a portion remained a mystery as it dipped passed his v line down behind his tweng unconsciouslyyou licked your lips. You tried to control your staring eyes slowly taking him blinking to regain some type of decorum before you quite literally began to drool. "Tuk why are they staring" You whisper your brown eyes meeting with his aqua one your heart picking up nervously looking away still feeling his heated stare.
Ao'nung was speechless he didn't know what he expected but it wasn't this…. You were kissed by the sun your hair hung like a mass of untamed dark waves an curls like the crashing tides at night the same ones he loved to dive into when the tides would change. He heart raced as his ears pressed back to his skull as he watched in literal awe of this sky demon. His eyes trailed down to your outfit her top was simple covering just your chest his tail sways noticing you curves as he takes in your what he assumed was your tweng hanging from your voluptuous hips. He was stunned how could someone so different be yet so suited for the sea?!
"My name is Tsireya and this is my brother Ao'nung welcome to our village" his sister's voice causes his ears to twitch and he looks away slightly "Oel ngati kameie" his ear flick to you a soft smirk came to his lips, your voice was so refreshing and you spoke the language like a true Na'vi. He gave the motion responding silently fearing if he spoke he'd embarrass himself.
Y/n smiles softly looking to the two "it's nice to meet you, I'm y/n". Tuk then pulls your arm "let's swim come on let's jump in" her excitement taking over "Wait wait Tuk let me put my bag down in your pod" she laughs being dragged by the child. Everyone followed you turns around your step bouncing slightly on the walkway catching up with the sully kids before putting her things down. You turn eager to enjoy the change of scenery and allows tuk to lead the way to the edge. You pick up speed and dive under perfectly nearly choking in amazement seeing the life under the surface. You look around seeing the 6 had followed and continue to swim taking in everything following them around.
He watched you swim and explore the water around you and even then he found more to admire the waps your hair cradled and swirled around your face when you moved, how your eyes shined seeing something new, how well you took to the water. He had to know you. He couldn't explain why but the pull to you was almost aggravating. He watched you slowly come up to the surface taking a deep breath before floating on the surface of the water on your back he waded to you the water only reaching his waist as he watched the waves rock and shift your body to its rhythm.
You open your eyes the sun now blocked by a shadow, it was Ao'nung. You quickly stand and male your way to some rocks in the shallow wringing your hair the water splashing onto the wet rocks before you let go your "you are Ao'nung" you sit your feet still in the water "I'm glad to see they made friends here" you say smoothing your slowly drying yet shrinking hair "how are you so good?" You stop his voice deep voice filling your ears. "Good at what exactly? If you mean the language I refused to speak anything else for a while…" you says pulling one leg from the water shifting positions as he moved closer. "No not that you dive like metkayina" he says leaning in closer now in front of you.
You look him over for a moment speechless at his comment cheeks becoming hot. "Why are you in the forest when you belong here." You look up at him heart rushing in your ears like crashing waves. "I…. Swim a lot in the rivers and where I'm from the diving you do is a past time a hobby really…. But me I just like the water it calms me" you say.
He looks you over listening to your words…. It was clear you were better suited for his home than the forest. He had to find a way for you to stay he wanted more time with you. "Let me teach you the customs of my people y/n" he said unable to stop himself as he reached up playing with the curls of your drying hair. He gives a smirk his mind conjuring your hair in metkayina styles before dropping his arm. "Are you sure the olo’eyktan and tsahik will be okay with that" he smiled wondering how you'd react knowing he was the clan leader's son. "I mean I'm not exactly suited for reef life…. And my avatar isn't ready also I'm only visiting." You ramble as much as you'd love to spend months by the water, Some things are just not possible "easy ma tsawksyul I will make it happen" he says smirking watching your face flush under his words. You watched him leave unable to ask anything else as he dove under the water and out of sight. You slip into the water swimming over to the shore, sinking under one last time to wet your hair and wring out the excess water flipping it over your shoulder as you made your way to the sully’s home tilting your head to the warm sun smiling softly knowing that despite what Ao’nung stated you would be leaving soon so why not ingrave the picture in your mind before returning back to the lush forest.
Ao'nung spoke to his father his eyes following you as he spoke following your form as you vanish and reappear in his line of sight before his attention is pulled back to his father to explain is case when all he wanted was to take you back out to enjoy the water.
Speechless you sat in Jake and Neytiri's mauri looking over the water and the bustling life of the Metkayina she already missed it. Their kids went off to ride their ilu and since you were not equipped for deep water you stayed behind "I know that look y/n come on talk to me" a familiar voice breaks your thoughts and you smile looking up to see her surrogate brother who fit well into the life ever the adaptable idiot marine. "jake you look good old man" you tease watching him roll his eyes feeling his tail smack your head. "Shut up short stack" he chuckles and sits with you returning to his previous question "what has you looking like that, haven't seen that look in a while." He nudges you. Sighing you lean back "I should've come with you this last year and a half doing nothing is killing me… but without my avatar I am a beacon for danger" your voice a bit sad as you explain your dilemma. Jake sighs putting a hand on your shoulder "I understand. I think your desire to join the people is stronger than mine was…. Want me to talk Norm into letting you stay a few more days?" You laugh and shake your head knowing Jake could do it too. “I wish but my avatar should be do in the next couple of weeks they refuse to let me see or even look at the data…but i want to be there as soon as its done” you sigh hopeful the next time they meet you will be on an ikran.
"Jake sully and y/n" you look up your heart leaping into your throat from the deep voice above you. You look up staring at the huge metkayina warrior, one that knew your name. You took a closer look seeing his attire extravagant colorful, your eyes widen and immediately you knew the olo’eyktan of the clan. "Oel ngati kameie olo’eyktan" you say a bit frantic bowing your head giving the hand gesture for respect looking almost pathetically embarrassed for looking at him so rudely. "He was right," he says with a soft almost kind tone as he gave the gesture back. "Tonowari, what can we help you with?" Jake speaks tapping your arm. "Come we can talk in my mauri," he says.
You look at Jake confused but get up walking with him, seeing who could only be his wife and the Tsahik. You bow your head "oel ngati kameie" you murmur and sit hoping you weren't being told to leave.
"My son asked me to let you stay he claims you belong here and should learn our ways." Tonowari says looking at you. Y/n looks shocked hair falling in your face as your head jerked to look at Tonowari "I….me but…I'm sorry I'm not understanding. Who was right and about what." You start confused "and I don’t think I've met your son" you say keeping your head down. There was a chuckle causing you to look up in confusion at the amusement in the olo’eyktan's eyes "his name is Ao'nung" he states "and he knows you". Y/n blushes harder than she thought possible "I…. Just…." Your voice died along with your words "speak girl you are to be metkayina you must be able to come to your olo’eyktan and tsahik." A stern voice pierces your ears. You look up see the tsahik staring at you "I am human, I can not connect to anything I am a pretty good diver but that is the extent of my skills besides the bow" you say taking a deep breath "I don't want to seem like I'm disrespecting your culture." You look to Jake who looks shocked by your words "eywa is open and accepting of you being here she is in fact eager for you to stay" Ronal hums.
You walks from the leaders home with Jake and looks up at him "don't say anything jake" you grumble. He chuckles "oh you mean the fact you are here one day and the chiefs son likes you should I be expecting him courting you soon." You roll your eyes and punch Jake in the leg before seeing ao'nung with the sully kids and she walks to them "TUK TUK!" You smile seeing her turn and run to you "y/n y/n I thought you left we saw the others leave" she asks the rest looking curious while ao'nung looked smug. "I was given a pass to stay and learn the best I can the ways of the Metkayina" you say and look to ao'nung seeing him smirk.
"Come y/n let me do your hair" tsireya chirps happily taking you to sit down and style your hair. You smile softly and nod letting her guide you and sit happily the first time someone has done your hair in years it felt nice you felt at home.
“Oh y/n you are going to love it here i have seen you swim you are well suited for the way of our people don’t let anyone here tell you differently.” You smile looking back to tsireya and laugh “i really hope so I've always loved the water I would let the river currants guide me when I floated on my back I lost how many times I fell into the pull of a waterfall" you giggle hearing her laugh "I think you and I are going to be good friends and my brother well don't think I didn't notice." You blush at her words and looks down "I….. you" you stop seeing Ao'nung with some of his friends but his eyes were clearly on you. You blush and look away stealing a glance seeing a dangerously amused smirk accompanied by a tilted head.
You quickly look away wondering how you would be able to focus on anything with him around but you wouldn't know until tomorrow resolved to make an effort not to become enthralled with the chiefs son, a small part of you not wanting to hear Jake joke about it running in the family as it didnt take you long to realize tsireya and Lo’ak were a mated pair. (Apples and trees am i right). You look over again to sneak a glance at Ao’nung unable to help yourself only to see him still staring and just gives a nod chuckling. You look away trying keep the burning smile on your lips at bay.
Ao'nung waited anxiously in the water for you he had volunteered himself to train you now he was drawing a blank on what to teach first… better diving techniques, fishing, making a net, hunting there were so many choices, but what he wanted to know what you liked what you'd be impressed with he succeeded in having you stay now he had to keep his tsawksyul happy. "Ao'nung I'm so sorry I'm late tuk and kiri had me up late weaving with them and I slept pass my time" he chuckles seeing you dive into the water and pop to the surface. He couldn't help his smile seeing you in a metakayina hairstyle it suited you so well despite your bun falling undone. "It is alright tsawksyul hold still." He hums in your ear now behind you.
Y/n stops feeling his body pressed to hers wildly aware of how tall he was compared to you in human form it made you blush "ao'nung what are you…" you stop feeling his hand trace the back of your neck before fixing your hair "the waves would have taken your bun apart” he murmurs fixing your bun.
In reality Ao’nung didn't need to do what he did he loved your hair up or loose as long as it was you but something compelled him to do this. A hairpin made of a greenish blue iridescent shell he made to keep his own hair in place but now he wanted you to have it, in a subtle way marking his claim on you by tradition he was now courting you. His eyes darting to the others of his clan watching with surprised expressions as they passed he tucked it making sure it was secure yet visible “next time make sure its secure even if you have to rebraid it” he stand back admiring his work on you
You look into the water seeing a tightened bun and a shell in your hair it was pretty and shifted in the light "thank you ao'nung" you say you touching his arm. Seeing his tail sway in delight. "I'm going to teach you how to breath and dive better y/n you said you wanted to go into deeper water I can help you learn" he says and you smile brighter "I'd love that ao'nung." He begins to walk deeper into water with you "why did you want to come here from your planet" you stop hearing his words
"I had nothing left back home and that world didn't fit me…. There is no green, no natural life and I well that's all I wanted…. To bring back the fresh air and green tree to swim in water that wasn't heavily polluted or chlorinated" you push off onto your back letting the current carry you father out into the water. "When I arrived I did 3 things…. I threw away every pair of shoes I owned, spoke nothing but the native language and I think I spent 5 days doing nothing but swimming in the rivers close to where we were staying. I nearly lost my job" you laugh "but humans, sky people wanted to do more of the same hurt, destroy, pollute and I turned my back on my own kind for this… swimming, nature, life." He smiles letting you float enjoying your answer he watched your hair carry in the current, your content bright smile, the shell pin in your bun, his tsawksyul. "Come we need to start you're training."
You watched ao'nung dive into the water and follow him seeing him use his fingers to communicate something. You tilt your head having no idea what it meant but follows him anyway making an assumption. You noticed the soft frustrated look in his eyes before they soften and continue to swim. You watched how well he moved with the water. It was effortless, you smiled swimming above him slowly floating to the surface. You blush softly see him turn on his back swimming to look at you giving that infamous smirk of his making you blush and look away coming up for air as your heart raced your head became light as if your air was gone .
You see him come up only a few seconds later pressing his large hand to your torso on your diaphragm "breath ma tsawksyul breath" his deeply accent voice vibrates against you. You all but melt into him your heart racing in your chest. You bite your bottom lip to hold in whatever squeak or noise clawing it's way past your throat. You try to breath normally but he was so close engulfing you in his warmth and his hand never moved from your diaphragm. "Your heart beats fast, concentrate and calm yourself" he murmurs. You let out a soft whimper in protest "you are distracting" you gasp slowly looking up at him. It wasn't a lie this voice, his looks, that mischievous yet inticing smirk make every bit of your heart race and now with him this close your body felt like it would shut down from the nerves.
His smirk widened his tail splashing in the water from those words he pressed his face to your shoulder to suppress the chuckle bubbling in his throat. he made your heart race he could barely contain his elation from that information and manages to contain himself "I, apologize" he purrs but the tone of his voiced stated he was not even a bit remorseful. "But I can not leave you here alone so tell me things you like get your mind calm and your body will follow" he hums.
You look up at him and told him the things you like fruits and foods, the colors you've grown to love here, the things you did when you unwind even the shells you've come to love here just from spending a few hours weaving with your family. The things you used to do the things you wanted to do that scared the living hell out of you. Slowly but surely your body relaxed you leaned into his touch as he held you. To anyone on the outside it looked like the most unlikely of a pair in a romantic embrace enjoying the water. "Now ma tsawksyul breath deep" he purrs against your temple and with a deep breath in your lungs you slipped under the water with him smiling happily.
Slowly as your nerves subside you find it easier to stay under water diving down your goal to reach the floor of the reef which was 5 maybe 10 feet below you, a force of habit from the river to lay at the bottom and watch the world float up around you loving the way the light swirled in the water. You look down at Ao’nung swimming below you on his back, you cover your mouth trying not to laugh at how relaxed he looked. You push yourself through an opening in some rocks and appear right above him giving a smile before going up for air once again. You take deep breaths wiping the water from your eyes as you felt the heat of the sun on your face. “ you are doing well better than your family did when they got here” he smirks poking fun at them.
You squint and splash him “ well id like to see you try navigating through the forest bet you would look just as lost “ she shoots back her eyes shimmering with a feisty heat that reminded him a little of his mother.
He couldn’t stop the smirk spreading on his face he couldn’t deny he liked your sweetness but that spark of fire had his heart hammering not many girls here did that seeing he was the olo’eyktans son. “Oh is that so little tsawksyul, and will you be the one taking me to the forest to prove this statement” he states feelin his large hand on the small of your back pulling you closer. He watched as that feisty glint melted into an adorable flustered look he could get used to pulling from you. His smile grew wider as you seem to fumble and trip over your own words. He chuckles feeling the heat of your frustrated and embarrassed look causing him to back off just a little.
You huff at his laughter and shake your head trying not smile before looking back to shore. your eyes follow follow the sound of squeaks and chirps and smile seeing ilu you laugh "they are like dolphins" you say more so to your than to ao'nung swimming a little closer.
"What is that a dol- fin" his deep voice makes you turn to face him "a dolphin is a ocean creature from my planet they are very intelligent creature, like the ilu" you start " but they can be mischievous up to the point of being an asshole but when you are that smart I suppose it happens." You laugh remember the articles you used to read about it. You look over to him meeting his eyes surprised he was already looking your way “could you swim with them,” you nod
"Mhm as in you just interact not use them as a mount" you hum leaning back kicking your feet up to tread water on your back "would you like to ride one" he asks.
You look at him gently falling underwater before popping back to the surface. "You mean right now" you looked confused there was the issue of the creature not listening or even liking you. "Scared it might be too smart" you squint as his joke. "Are you calling me stupid you skxawng" you growl and reach out smacking him on his head like you would lo'ak. He looks at you in shock and then you realize what you've done "oh fuck I am so sorry" you say frantic dipping under the water swimming away face flushed with sheer horror.
He felt your hand make contact with his head and stared at you with shock and maybe anger but when he saw your face nearly laughed and he watched you flee following after you up until you reached the shore.
He did hand back just to admire you as you emerged from the water. He chokes the smirk dies in his throat watchin your curls bounce and drip from the water it held the way your body seemed to glitter as water clung and slid down your curves. He tilts his head unable to stop his shameless staring. He had forgotten his retaliation for your assault on his head, almost now he wanted something else.
You squeal as you make the first steps to the shore of the beach feeling a wet 3 fingered hand grip your ankle and pull you into shallow surf. "Where do you think you're going hmmm you think im going to let you get away with that” he growls and yanks you back watching you fall into the sand and surf. You squeal and try to crawl away only to fall again being turned on your back your hair flowing in the shallow water as you look up at him still struggling to escape the unknowingly playful wrath of Ao’nung. He chuckles watching you press and push on his chest and arms as you tried to move away. He grips your wrists and presses them to the sand "I have you….now” he growl his voice rumbling in your ear. You look up at him heart racing, eyes wide staring into his eyes wondering if he was searching for something. The tension that formed between you both became thick and heated. Your heart begins to race becoming a bit shy under his gaze searing into your body, watching as he is expressions shift and change darkening a haze coming over them “ i have you” he growls again as if the repetition would realign his thoughts, something had his focus.
You stare at him, heart still in your throat as his eyes burn over your body, a dangerous smirk playing at his lips as he flickered over the length of your form still wet from the ocean and a sand in your hair. You gasp feeling his hand leave your wrist as he leans closer to you his smoldering gaze making your stomach tighten uncontrollably “i… have” he breaths out his fingers tracing over the side of your ribs down your waist pulling a whimper from you desperate needy “mmmnngh” you whine a bit ticklish but his fingers shot hot waves of nerves and arousal through your body straight to your core. You couldn’t deny since your laid eyes on Ao’nung he had every bit of your attention sure you had a crush on other Navi but nothing like this, you had no control over it. "I…" his voice rasps you stare up at him eyes wide as his rake over your panting form your faces now inches apart his large arm around your waist pressed to his torso as he pressed closer you you. "Ao'nung…." You whisper. You watch the way his eyes cloud over dilating “y/n” he growls back pressing his nose right below your ear inhaling. “You are lucky” he pulls away chuckling leaving you to calm your pounding heart and flushed face.
You walk around the village keeping as out of the way as possible you were only a few inches taller than the size of a Na’vi child so it wasn’t hard to duck and slip through others with little effort the motions distractions you from the whirlwind of events that happened on the beach just moments ago. “Y/n” you stop hearing a voice and turning to find the source seeing Ronal staring expectantly at her. “ come here you need to learn how to heal i will not be able to care for you all the time you should learn” she says firmly it lacked any coldness but had the tone of a strict mother who didnt take any form of no as an answer. You quickly walk to her seeing Tsireya and smile with a wave helping as well, you crouch down only to have a mortar and pestal shoved into your hands “mix” she says. You nod and start to work putting all the effort you had into to moving the ingredients together into a smooth paste. You handed it to Ronal who gave a approving hum and gave you another task. You felt right back in the heating tent with Moat and you couldn’t help but smile despite complaining of doing this in the forest doing it here made you smile not that you didnt like the forest, here you were learning something new. “ y/n you are doing well and learning quickly” tsireya smiles. You smile and nod “ i was tasked with healing the injured warriors with the omatikaya this comes naturally but learning the way your people do it is a new journey and makes the wait a little easier.
Eclipse came quicker than you expected and you look up looking to the sullys "I'm going for a walk ill be back in 2 hours" you call wanting to see the ocean at night… you'd seen the forest and every time it made your heart race but your heart soared in anticipation to see the ocean in darkness what came to life under bioluminescence. You walk past many pods trying to navigate in the dark before you missed your opportunity as the sun started to disappear the sky becoming a deep mystical purple. A hand grabbed your wrist casusing you to stop and you look up your heart jumping into your throat seeing Ao'nung realizing you walked right in front of his home he lived a bit off from everyone probably for privacy, his hair was out of its bun yet still braided the rest hanging loose down his back you nearly swoon now becoming greedy your wish changing wanting to see it this way more often.sure he looked good with the bun but his hair loose and free paired with the full sleeve of arm tattoos and the matching leg…. You let out a choked whine unable to suppress the desperate need you felt to once again trace your tongue over the dark lines that curve up his hip and down his pelvis past his tweng your mouth watering as your mind conjured sinful images of the base of his cock being tattooed. Your eyes rake over his body taking in his form in the darkness and the tahni that dotted his skin sparkled in the darkness displaying its pattern like trail on his teal skin. He looked good enough to eat and still beg for more.
Ao’nung had to will every part of himself not to let his tail sway and wag watching you stare and eyefuck him preening under you heated gaze tilting his head letting you taking you in himself how good you looked in metkayina clothing the shell pin your hair his first gift to you tilting his head crossing his arms chuckling while his question went on deaf ears. Had you been a Na’vi the subtle body language would have been a loud declaration of your feelings for him. But he could smell how he effected you, taking a deep breath his ears pressing back he wills his self control back in check deciding to ask the question again.
You stare at him blushing unable to stop your staring. "and where do you think you are going yawne" he asks his voice smug all the indication you needed pulling you close to him. You look up at him wanting nothing more than to trace the sparkling tahni on his face but instead answer "out to swim I want to see the ocean at night" you say. He chuckles and shakes his head "not by yourself and not out there come on" he says as you sigh now wishing you had just said nothing your plans ruined but you don't think you could have said anything different if you had a chance to answer again.
You go to protest only to get a sharp look up and down as if to say ‘do you really think you can get away from me’? You sigh following until he stops at the edge of the walk and slips into the water. You look down at him confused taking his outstretched hand letting him pull you into the water. “I’m not going to let you get hurt out there yawne, if you want to see the water at night i can show you right here where its safe” he hums treading water with you. You sigh gently knowing deep down he was correct as you feel your toes gently brush the sand you wade in the water it was perfect for watching the world change slowly you look up in the sky watching as the sun slip behind the planet that orbits pandora. You look around smiling your eyes going wide watching as everything came to life in vibrant colors. You couldn’t contain your amazement looking around light giggles of amazement escaping your throat. You look to Ao’nung and beam moving your arms and fingers through the water mesmerized by the way the dark water would burst and churn bright blue. You dive under water looking at everything waiting the fish that swim around you following them as your movements created more light.
Ao’nung watched you with an amused smile as you marveled and fawned over the glowing ocean and the animals as if they weren’t the same during the day. But watching you fall in love with his home made his ego swell in ways he didnt know possible to know that you preferred here to the forest prefer him to anyone else. His ears flick to the sound of your voice your laugh and sound of amazement always loving how breathless you become. He watched the light of the ocean swirl and caress your body with each movement his mouth running dry no matter what you did you were graceful more so in water. He watched your hair burst to life turning blue and aqua against the dark water a smile on his face as you played in the bioluminescence of the water letting the fish that dance. Around you travel through your open fingers and around your floating form.
You turn and swim to Ao’nung taking his hand in yours your fingers lightly tracing over the tanhi that dotted his hand “thank you Ao’nung” you say sweetly looking up at him gasping when you feel his arm snake around your waist and pull you closer to him “next time you want to see something tell me and i will show you okay yawne” you nod looking him over admiring his features your eyes captivated with his hair you reach up and run your fingers through his loose curls saying nothing slowly tracing down following the black lines on his shoulder down his bicep with your finger.
Swimming no matter how hard you practiced exhausted you and with the excitement only served to speed the process. You try to climb back of the walkway and make the long trek home but your body was heavy and tired. Making the simple task harder. You barely register the amused chuckle and the hand that help you up by your hips. “ another reason why you shouldn’t go out alone you can barely keep yourself up after only a few minutes of this” he teases picking you up bridal style as you begin to protest but make no effort to truly move him body instinctively pressing into his. “I’m sure you tire too after swimming for a long time.” You murmur feeling tired eyelids drooping “we aren’t talking about my stamina because if we were id still be going” he looks down at you marking “ well into sunrise.” You blush turning your head away at the double entendre he had just put into the air around them hearing his deep amused chuckle now somehow wide awake.
You look around the trip back to your home shorter than you realize before coming to the realization this was Ao’nung marui making your heart race “ im not sending you back when you can barely walk “ you cut him off shaking your head. “ no i just need to sit down and catch my breath and i will be fine” you lie your body was becoming lead unable to move the safeness you feel wrapped in his arms mixed with the late night swimming a lethal sleeping draught. “ fine sit down for 5 minutes then try to go home” he insists sitting you down before laying in his hammock. You watch him lay down bitting your bottom lip racking over his form, on his back one arm behind his head his loose hair messily cradling his face. His broad chest moving up and down with his slow breathing his tattooed arm on full display your eyes tracing the dark lines down to his hands before skipping to the dark lines that followed the defined v line down below his tewng…oh what you wouldn't give to be held in his arms all night it was probably comfortable. You lean on the side of the hammock for support another wave of exhaustion washing over your consciousness your eyes drooping as you wanted nothing more than to lay on his chest sleep. The world shift causing your eyes to flutter open and look into Ao’nung’s eyes seeing he’d pulled you into his hammock and onto his chest. “Just relax and sleep” he mutters running his fingers through your long hair admiring the softness. You press your face into the curve of his neck now suffocated in him; salt, water, sun,the floral scent of pandora soap a combination you took to memory as you curled your arm around the back of his neck “i promise to be gone by…..morning” you sigh your body slowly relaxing as you sprawled yourself on his chest.
He chuckles wrapping his arm around your back pressing his face into your head his ears pressing to his skull as unconsciously hold you closer inhaling your sweet scent closing his eyes taking a deep sigh falling asleep your smaller form pressed against his.
Morning came faster than either of you liked but it didn't break the little bubble in Ao’nung's mauri. You were still sleeping last night taken so much of the little energy you had, snuggling closer to his body you nuzzle deeper into his neck your lips presssed to the skin in the crook of his neck. Ao’nung slow emerged from sleep immediately aware of you on his body and fingers immediately urn through your thick mass of hair curling and looking his digits as he massages your scalp and caresses your hair. This moment he now greedily craved every morning to be the first thing you wake up to and vice versa. But as much as he wanted to hold you hostage his mother would come looking for you if you missed your lessons. He stares at you taking another selfish minute to admire you his tsawksyul and the way your skin came to life under the sun as you slept tracing his finger tips down your spine and over the curve of your hip down your thigh. His ears twitch hearing a soft moan leave your lips before nuzzling closer to him taking a deep breath and settling back into sleep. Now he really didn’t want to let you go but the longer he sat the more likely someone would ruin this moment and he rather do it on his own terms. “Wake up tilor” he mutters tapping your back gently as he shifted “ wake up you have lessons with my mother today” he says chuckling when you groan and snuggle deeper into his body “ no comfy 5 more minutes” your sleepy voice grumbled causing him to flat out laugh “bold aren’t you hogging my bed then asking for more time to sleep when my mother is going to come looking for you soon… wake up" he murmurs in your. Your eyes flutter open after adjusting to the sunlight you jolt up right now straddling his torso. "Oh fuck I'm late" you gasps your hair a wild mess half covering your face but a wild fro of waves and curls as if your hair had just awoken too.
You hear a deep chuckle and look down at the smirking metkayina warrior below you looking smug "yes you are by maybe 30 minutes you have about 10 more before my mother comes looking" he says in an unbothered tone. You groan great way to show respect y/n show up late to lessons. "I shouldn't have stayed out so long" you grumble smoothing your hair down back arching as you stretch a high-pitched whine escaping your lips. "You should be fine my mother is quite fond of you" he hums out his voice breathless. You feel his gaze burning into you suddenly making you feel shy and a bit self conscious unable to make full eye contact.
He smirks but reaches up his fingers brushing your cheek guiding your face to look back at his watching as you hastily pin your hair into a half up half down do using his shell pin to keep it together. "And how do you know that." She says softly looking at him. He chuckles his hand now softly resting on your hip "she has a way of saying it without saying it you are learning healing techniques of our people from her personally" he hums rubbing his thumb on your hip bone with his eyes grazing over your form. You shiver and blush "I suppose that is true" you say softly and look down at him smiling "thank you Ao’nung for letting me stay and for last night it seems every new experience I have is with you" you smile and move to get out of the hammock. You gasp feeling his grip tighten a silent command not to move. You stare at him confused watching as he sat up slowly shifting the angle of your hips pushing you forward hands now on his chest.
You blush feeling his face press into your hair inhaling only to exhale saturating the strands of your hair in his scent before pressing a kiss behind your ear "I hope to give you many more tsawksyul now go" he murmurs in your ear nuzzling his nose into that junction one more time before letting you go. Quickly you run as fast as you can back to the sullys Mauri for another sarong to tie around her hips. "Hi sorry I missed breakfast I overslept I need to get to Ronal" you rush tying it around your hips. They stare at you a bit shocked Jake had a stupid grin on his face so did Lo’ak. You roll your eyes and shake your head seeing a amused Neytiri "y/n after your lessons we need to speak" she says softly. She says as you move to leave. "Okay tiri I promise" you call rushing out unaware of the reason for their looks.
You arrived to lessons with tsireya and Ronal seeing a slightly irritated Ronal. "Sorry I'm so sorry I overslept after swimming too long last night I'm so sorry" you begin bowing your head trying to look as remorseful as possible only to be met with a look of surprise and was it amusement or mild happiness. You looked to Tsireya who was practically shining like the sun with happiness "next time be more cautious with your time" Ronal murmurs before giving them lessons and tasks to do.
You walk with Tsireya knowing she had to talk to Neytiri before she could join them for a swim. "So why were you and your mother looking at me like that when I was late your mother doesn't seem like the kind to allow that." You say to her laughter "normally no but its because of what you did or rather what you didn't say you did." She says. You stop confused "I'm not following," tsireya smiles "so how was your night sleeping with Ao'nung?" You blush brightly and covered your face "how the hell did you even know that holy fucking shit" you exclaim face flushed she laughs again "you can't smell it but everyone one can you reek of Ao'nung's scent from head to toe even your hair your hair having the strongest scent." You blush remembering how he exhaled into your hair and how you slept in the same hammock. "He….. he I'm going to pluck his eyeballs out from his skull" you hiss trying to calm your raging embarrassment.
She laughs and pats your shoulder "but I did hear from the other hunters he reeked of you as well….honestly I've never seen him this territorial so quickly." She murmurs as your part ways.
You enter seeing Neytiri and Jake and you instantly turn red “ before you say anything” you groan hearing Jake begin to chuckle and you feel like drowning in the deepest part of the lagoon reefs. Neytiri giggles “ since you know then i have to ask is he courting you” Jake seems to stiffen a little from that notion as not everyone liked the concept of Neytiri and him getting together not too long ago. You shake your head the shell pin in your hair glittering as you move. Neytiri glances in your hair and then sighs “ that is all after all the reason i wanted to talk to was about the fact his scent covers yours. You groan and walks away but you never really made an effort to wash it away as you swam and interacted with others unaware of the pleased set of eyes following you as you wore his scent all day making a point to scent mark you in some way.
3 weeks went by quicker than you expected. Maybe it was the constant diving lessons by the chief's son Ao’nung, or the other days with the sullys helping Neytiri with meals, watching tuk and helping her pick out shells on the beach. Your favorite was with kiri you never judged her and her strong connection to Eywa in fact you admired and supported her for it. You even found yourself in healing lessons with Ronal and Tsireya. That always made you nervous being around Ao’nung mother and father you know how much they do not trust sky people and yet they are never not kind. There is never any disdain but you do receive Ronal’s sharp tongue when you are distracted or underperforming in lessons it reminded you of the way a mother would scold her child. Tonowari even helped you in the basics of making a fishing net which was the easiest to master the material was a little bit more flexible than the material of the omatikaya nets. Despite not being able to connect with Eywa hunt or ride an ilu you are fitting in well not even minding the little clothing which you just saw as versatile swimwear. As well as said chief son taking up every moment of free time you had that wasn’t already claimed from taking long walks to night swims in the shallowest parts of the lagoon, somehow slowly making sleeping in his arms such a regular occurrence that no one even bats an eye anymore if anything everyone seems to be waiting for something.
You sit on the beach looking out at the water relaxing a part of you trying not to focus on the fact a month was over knowing that you’d have to wait a but longer before you could have your avatar but in reality you could wait a little longer its not like you didnt enjoy your time here. You stand deciding to take a walks and find a few shells not only for herself but for tuk and kiri to weave.
You came back from your walk to see the helicraft from high camp and something in your heart told you don't run over there it's bad news. You looked over seeing Norm talking to Jake and Tonowari watching as all 3 made eye contact with you. You quickly start walking again not wanting to face the potential bad news….. 50/ 50 chance but when did you become so scared you went head first into battle against her race saw battle wounds even hunted in the forest but the concept of avatar driving now sacred you. You sit by the sand looking out to the water missing Ao'nung tasked with helping a hunting party today you needed him right now was it for emotional support or as an excuse to escape. You sigh laying back closing your eyes willing your fears to subside.

Star Seekers: Characters
Star Seekers:
Raiko:
He/Him - 20 - Jolteon/Dusk Lycanroc Mix - Electric/Rock - Bold - Quick Feet - 0.8 m/2’7”
Moveset:
Thunder Shock
Bite
Thunder Fang
Rock Tomb
Raiko is very rambunctious and energetic, rarely sitting still. He likes adventure and battles, but of course only if his opponents are up for it, as it's all just for fun.
Fun Fact(s): Only one I don't even remember where I got the idea for. He has existed since 2019 and I have barely anything left of whatever the original idea was.
Roku:
He/Him - 22 - Archen/Zorua Mix - Flying/Dark - Careful - Defeatist - 0.6 m/2’0”
Moveset:
Fake Tears
Pluck
Feint Attack
Ancient Power
Roku lives in a hidden underground base. He rarely leaves the base, fearing running into any other Pokémon.
Fun Fact(s): Started as an idea for an ask blog about a weird Archen who lives in an abandoned underground base. Originally was set in the regular Pokémon world with humans, he was just a weirdo who walked on his wings. He then got redesigned into Archen/Zorua mix.
Joki:
They/Them - 25 - Vaporeon Variant - Water/Grass - Relaxed - Water Absorb - 1 m/3’3”
Moveset:
Giga Drain
Water Pulse
Aurora Beam
Aqua Ring
Joki is quiet and calm most of the time, preferring solitude but not minding the company of their friends. They're very laid-back and always there for their friends.
Fun Fact(s): Created alongside Raiko but actually had something written down about them: The idea was a kelpie, or similar water creature inspired Vaporeon. The name is Finnish for river, but apparently also how you'd spell the word for vapor in Japanese with the Latin script. Very fitting for a Vaporeon. Later decided for them to be a Vaporeon variant with Water/Grass typing.
Toren:
He/Him - 26 - Umbreon/Houndoom Mix - Dark/Fire - Naughty - Unnerve - 1.1 m/3'7”
Moveset:
Bite
Fire Fang
Taunt
Scary Face
Likes to tease others, though he can come across as a little scary. Usually has Fern pull him back in line.
Fun Fact(s): First of the characters made specifically for this story. Decided to make him a mix of some of my favourite dark types. Decided to make the Umbreon markings red instead of yellow since I felt they looked better and then just went wild on the design from there.
Fern:
He/They - 28 - Leafeon/Ninetales Mix - Grass/Fire - Sassy - Chlorophyll - 1 m/3’3”
Moveset:
Magical Leaf
Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Synthesis
Seems nice and friendly but is even meaner than Toren, though can hold himself back better. Tends to behave as an older brother to the younger members.
Fun Fact(s): The one whose colours I struggled the most with. I could have gone for autumnal yellow orange brown, but I simply don't like those colours much so I went with shiny version so it would work with the greens better. The turquoise came from not wanting to use the brown of Leafeon and the purple of shiny Ninetales didn't work well so I went with something entirely different instead.
Vari:
He/They - 50s - Absol - Dark - Serious - Justified - 1.2 m/3’11”
Moveset:
Detect
Slash
Night Slash
Zen Headbutt
Very serious protector. Rarely interacts with others, so he’s a bit awkward around other Pokémon. Very kind and only wants to help others to the best of their abilities.
Fun Fact(s): The design idea was an immediate idea, but then I struggled with the name. I went with varis (Finnish for crow) but without the s.
Legendaries:
Zero:
They/Them - Centuries - Reshiram/Zygarde Mix - Dragon/Fire - Quiet - Turboblaze - 4 m/13’1”
Moveset:
Outrage
Blue Flare
Earthquake
Glare
Loner who rarely shows themself around others. Though they prefer solitude, they cannot abandon someone in need.
Fun Fact(s): Started from an idea to fuse my two favourite legendaries together. I made a custom preset in Feral Heart to make the idea true many years ago. Though I have no idea what the character's name was, as all of that is gone, I had some images saved. The name is just first thing I thought of when mixing some of the letters from the legendaries together. For this story though I decided to use Zygarde's 10% instead of the 50% I used originally, so it's a new design.
Astrolupe:
They/It - Eons - Astrolupe - Psychic - Gentle - Starblind (Prevents the opponents from targeting any other Pokémon) - 3 m/9’10”
Endlessly kind and caring, always working hard to make sure everyone is happy, even to the point of neglecting their own well-being.
Fun Fact(s): Idea that started as me realizing I wanted a legendary but none of the existing matching with the theme and design I like together. Eventually worked out as a way of explaining the eggs. The name is just space related word + canine related word that felt like they worked well enough together.
Cygnova:
He/They/It - Eons - Cygnova - Dark - Lonely - Slow Pull (Lowers opponents’ speed over time) - 4.2 m/13’9”
Used to enjoy his job and working together with Astrolupe, but grew bitter as Pokémon began seeing death as a terrible thing. It withdrew from Astrolupe, though they were the only one who truly loved it. Struggling with the various negative emotions led to him striking at Astrolupe.
Fun Fact(s): Counterpart to Astrolupe that didn't exist at first but realized I might as well make and went from there. The name is Cyg from the first known black hole Cygnus X-1 (abbreviated Cyg X-1) + nova from supernova. I somehow accidentally gave both of them exactly 4 tails without meaning to. I just drew tails till I felt it was a good number. Apparently that number was exactly 4.
Side Characters:
Zar:
He/Him - 18 - Flygon - Ground/Dragon - Jolly - Levitate - 2 m/6’7”
Moveset:
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Fly
Helping Hand
Enthusiastic and optimistic. Travels around to help other Pokémon with their troubles.
Fun Fact(s): A character I made a custom preset on Feral Heart. Simply called Flygonaut because the idea was Flygon + Raz Psychonauts. I guess I just felt the names and aesthetics (goggles) worked well I suppose? Anyway I do love Flygon so I decided to add him to this story as a side character.
Pokidoki:
He/They - 24 - Mightyena - Dark - Quirky - Quick Feet - 1 m/3’3”
Moveset:
Thief
Yawn
Sucker Punch
Play Rough
Very strange Mightyena who seems to not have grown up at all. They just want to play around all the time.
Fun Fact(s): Another character originating from Feral Heart. Pokidoki was one of my several FH accounts and I decided to make a character representing each account and this was Pokidoki, a red and white Mightyena with a big red collar. I kept the name even if it's a bit strange as an actual name. Decided to add them as another side character to show up in the story.

what kind of accents do you think the cast has? im a dub main for various reasons (one of my friends had a reading/memory disability so i ended up watching dub w them) so im kinda used to everyones dub accents.
but bards defo got an american accent right? (not in the dub, but im thinking manga terms?)
and ik soma & agni have barely a trace of an accent but does that mean they sound basically british?
and does finny have a german accent? sieglinde? diedrich?
idk food for thought?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
(Sorry it’s been a rough couple days and I didn’t realize I hadn’t published this yet.)
Hey anon… so I’m a bit confused as to if you’re asking about the Japanese accents in the various anime, the English dub accents (or some other dub), or just my thoughts on what their various accents would be like based on the manga and independent of the anime.
Now I have only watched Kuro in English bc that’s the only thing that was available/that’s available on what I have at the moment (though I’m finally getting the blu rays for BoM and BoA so I’m hoping they’ll have the Japanese to try that out for once), so I can’t make judgements based on that. (And I’m not a good one to ask about Japanese accents anyway, lol.)
I also favor dubs bc of my disability. I love hearing the Japanese but it can be hard for me to follow sometimes, and even english alone without captions I can struggle with (please fix this, CR!!! Grr), so I feel you there.
Also not sure which characters you had in mind with this ask (other than the ones you specifically mentioned). Since kuro has so many, I guess I’ll just focus on a few. I want to make clear I am American and Latine, so I am not an expert on British regional accents by any stretch, or the historical accents of the Victorian period, so I’ll just do my best. Some may be partly inspired by how the characters are written in Japanese, since there’s a bit more… complexity to the Japanese language in regards to things like formality, rudeness, etc, that may not convert into English when translated in writing.
This is a long post so I’ll use a readmore to keep it a bit less chaotic. Below the break I’ve broken down my hypotheses on how some of the major players might talk:
Sebastian
As a high-ranking servant who regularly interacts with the nobility, Sebastian would have a high-class accent, and it is reflected in how his Japanese (and even his English) is written. It is a fairly neutral, polite manner of speaking. I’m sure the Victorians probably had a term for this accent (a high-class servant accent), but if they did, I don’t know it lol.
Ciel
Most nobles like him would be educated in a public school like Weston, like his father was, and those schools taught a standard accent that often varied slightly from school to school. So everyone who went to Weston would have a similar manner of speech. Ciel has been “home schooled” his entire life, aside from a short time at Weston for the investigation, so his accent might have been slightly different than his father’s. Nevertheless, especially under Sebastian’s tutelage, he would have learned how to speak properly (if he didn’t already). Still, unless Sebastian intentionally had him learn the Weston/public school accent, anyone who speaks to him would know he did not go to school, but was taught by tutors/governesses instead.
Bard
Yes, Bard is American despite his dub accent. We don’t know where he’s from exactly, but we can assume it was probably somewhere west of the Mississippi (that’s about 1/3 of the way west if you’re looking at the US map, going east to West, if you’re not familiar with our Geography).
I say that bc the river was the first real demarcation of the frontier. It’s likely he was living somewhere like Texas or Oklahoma. Ofc where he’s from would affect his accent, but I imagine it as a kind of cross between a more neutral southern midwestern accent (“no accent”) and a subtle Texas or OK one. Which that’s hard to explain unless you really know regional US accents, bc most of Texas doesn’t sound like most people think it does. The accents really change depending on what part of the state you’re in, since it’s such a big place. But basically not too heavy an accent but a bit lazy, definitely coarse and brutish since he was a soldier and a farmer. Lots of slang and not big on politeness. (Which he definitely is in Japanese.)
Mey Rin
She’s interesting because she’s one of the few characters who has a couple different ways of speaking. She has her “maid” voice and her “assassin” voice. The first one stutters a lot and uses imperfect grammar, as reflected in the English translation when she repeats things, like “I’m not one to talk badly about my betters, I am.” The second does not have this quirk. Not sure if the first is meant as an affectation as part of her idea of what a maid is, or if she just has such a divide he her personality/personas that she speaks differently when she’s wielding a gun. Since that wasn’t really mentioned in her subarc, I doubt we’ll get an explanation. We do know she was likely a child of immigrants from China, but not whether she was born there or in England before she was orphaned. But it is unlikely she has any hint of a Chinese accent since she was orphaned so young. She definitely has more of a working class accent, especially when compared to someone like Sebastian.
Finny
I had momentarily forgotten that Finny didn’t speak English when he first came to the manor. It’s likely that he would have had some kind of German accent, but I expect that Sebastian would have drilled it out of him, considering how strict he was with Sieglinde and Wolf, and Ciel didn’t blink an eye.
Finny’s accent in English never struck me as particularly high class, either in the manga or anime, but in one of the recent chapters, Theo makes a point to compliment his “upper-class accent.” It does seem highly probable that Sebastian played a hand in how he speaks, since he probably was the one who taught him English.
However, the fact that it came up in this sub arc could indicate his way of speaking is significant, somehow tying into what’s going on with Undertaker and the orphanage. Either way, his accent is apparently closer to Ciel than Mey.
Snake
Snake is tricky, because he almost never speaks as himself (I’m still not 100% sure what pronoun he would use for himself in Japanese, and even he doesn’t seem sure lol). He speaks via his snakes, and they all have different ways of speaking (which I think the dub does a decent job of, personally). So I can’t really say, but for the most part I would probably say his accent(s) would be closer to working-class, but he might have gotten some lessons on speaking from Sebastian, since, as a footman, he would have been expected to speak at a higher-class level than other, below-stairs servants would.
Undertaker
Like Mey, UT has two manners of speaking. He has his “humble old undertaker” accent, which is Cockney-esque (I don’t wanna do a disservice by saying it IS that), definitely a lower class accent. Then he has his “revealed” voice, or how he speaks after he reveals himself on the Campania. I have not read this arc in Japanese so I cannot base this judgement on how this shift is portrayed by Yana, only based on the translation. But it definitely seems to be a higher-class accent than the other one. It’s likely that it’s his “real” accent, while the other is part of his cover persona. However, we don’t know anything about him or his background from when he was alive, or even how old he is. For all we know, that accent could be an affectation too.
Agni & Soma
I know their dub accents annoy a lot of people, since Yana specifically mentions how they don’t have an Indian accent. I expect both of them would speak with a British accent, probably something close to how Ciel speaks, most likely, since Soma would have been educated by tutors and Agni probably was as well, since he came from a very high-caste family. I would expect that if their dub accents has been closer to Yana’s intent, they would sound more like Hakim in the dub of the anime Emma. That’s how I imagine them, anyway.
Sieglinde & Wolfram
I expect both would have German accents when they speak English, especially Wolf. Sieglinde might do a better job of working to improve and lose it, but I don’t think Wolf would, partly because of his animosity toward Sebastian. I like to imagine he sounds like Hans in the English dub of the anime Emma, and I really hope we eventually get the Green Witch Arc animated and dubbed so we can get a hot German English accent 🥺.
Diedrich
Dee, on the other hand, I think would not have a German accent in English, especially not in the present. I think he probably was educated in English before he went to Weston, likely by a private tutor, probably someone British, and then when he went there would have acclimated to the public school assent there. So probably he would sound like Vincent did, but I expect he’d throw in some German every now and then, especially when he gets irritated, lol.
Lau
Lau is originally from China, and his accent (as far as I know?) has never been remarked upon in the manga. We also know nothing about his background except that he rose quickly and at a young age to be head of Quin-Bang. I would assume that he speaks English very well, and the only hint at his origin that I’m aware of in the Japanese is the kanji (character) for the pronoun “I” he uses, though he doesn’t pronounce it as it’s normally done in Japanese nor does he with a Chinese pronunciation. I would take this to mean he probably has little if any hint of a Chinese accent when he speaks English, and since he keeps company with nobles and was able to pass as a doctor, he likely speaks in a high-class accent.
I hope that satisfied, anon. This was a fun and different ask. I apologize I didn’t publish it sooner.

twelveclara for that relationship ask game 🫶
describe their canon relationship/dynamic
what if you love someone so much you become them? what if they've seen you die a million times what if they weren't the man you loved at first but now you love them even more what if they've hurt you and made you lie and what if you've threatened them and what if you lie that you're happy so that they can leave and be happy themselves except you're both miserable and alone when you're apart what if the thought of them dying breaks something in you what if you're the only one they'll listen to what if you stop them when they want to tell you they love you what if you say you already know what if they watch you die again but it's different this time because you're actually dead and they can't accept that what if they spend billions of years for the chance they can get you back but they lose their memory of you and you listen to them talk to you about a girl called clara who they used to know
your ideal/headcanon version of it? how does it differ from how it is in canon & why is this your favorite version? any other alternate versions of it you enjoy?
why change perfection. my issue is with elevenclara rather than twelveclara elevenclara has an interesting dynamic in theory but in practice is. Kind of bad.
what do you like about their relationship, why is it interesting or enjoyable to you?
they're fucking INSANE and codependent and becoming eachother in a way that's hard to describe if you haven't watched the show. say what you will about the hybrid arc in S9 but I like it. throughout the whole season there keeps being mention of this "hybrid" being like the most dangerous and powerful thing etc but as the series goes on and clara and the doctor become more and more alike and more and more codependent you start to realise they are the hybrid and at the end of the universe me says about how they're so similar that they drive eachother to extremes both good and bad. My fav part of their relationship is probably how it is in motoe where clara is trying to tell herself this is the end because she HATES him but can't bring herself to "leave on a slammed door" and she starts to understand him in this episode and omg the twelveclaras are just too good in motoe
what about the individual characters involved? what does this relationship mean to them, what makes it unique among their relationships?
clara oswald is the only character in the world and twelve is the best doctor and I love them both and they will always be my fav. claras relationship with the doctor paralleled to her relationship with danny is soooooo interesting but I've talked about that before. for twelve I think clara is his first love since rose and obv there's been over a thousand years in his life since then obv there's river and maybe some minor characters but river is different they're married. clara parallels rose really nicely too which is something I'll go about another time but the thing most different between them is the doctor sent rose away to protect her but there's nothing that could separate him from clara until he is literally forced to forget her existence
favorite interaction they have in canon
diner scene + I don't deserve a friend like you // I'm sorry clara but I'm exactly what you deserve + I don't want to be the last of my kind + you look at me and you don't see me . please just see me + I'm not your boyfriend // I didn't say you were // I didn't say it was your mistake + whatever you're about to say, I already know
favorite interaction they have in your head/a situation you want to put them in
idk I don't really think about them outside of canon? I feel like I love their canon relationship so much that I don't have anything more I want from them .. I think an episode where they run into a clara splinter would be interesting like clara sees herself die and what do you even do about that. or maybe the doctor is trying desperately to keep the real clara from seeing the clara splinter or something. more twelveclaramissy would be good they're like the three worst lesbians alive

WARRIORS: SEVERANCE PROLOGUE
ao3 link
Deep in the thickest woods within the valley, it was, more often than not, serene. It was late at night and extremely calm- only the chirping of the cicadas on the tree disturbed the silence, or the rush of the river that marked the end of the forest. Most animals were asleep by now- Except in Thunderclan’s camp.
Tonight, while most cats slept and awaited the return of their friends later, two bundles of fur, one black and white and one gray, were huddled together in the apprentice's den, too anxiety-ridden to sleep.
Their names were Badgerpaw and Slatepaw, two tomcats who were best friends practically from birth. Their clanmates were out, fighting with Windclan over Eastern Point- Again.
The little peninsula was fought over by them practically every moon. Right now, Windclan held it, and Thunderclan was quick to retaliate.
Badgerpaw and Slatepaw would've gone, had it not been for the rainy day where Badgerpaw slipped and sprained his shoulder, rendering him unfit to go to the battle. Slatepaw stayed to keep him company.
His mother, Sablewren, couldn't even suppress a chuckle when she heard. It was humiliating to get hurt and have your mother laugh in front of everyone you knew. She hadn't visited him in the medicine den, either.
His father came in just to lecture him about being more careful- Slatepaw and Skunkpaw had actually come to keep him company, though.
At first, Snowfleck had thought he had broken his shoulder, but it turned out to be a bad sprain. Badgerpaw was grateful- His path to warriorhood couldn't take that much of a break!
Badgerpaw's father, Coalcrow, and his brother, Skunkpaw, had both gone to the battle, as had Slatepaw's parents. The two toms were similar in the manner that one had parents far too strict, and the other had parents who didn't interact with him enough to be strict. They made up for their losses with their friendship, though.
They'd spent most of their time waiting for the patrol to come home by entertaining Mintflower’s kits; Harekit, Redkit, Flashkit, and Fallowkit, but they had since gone off to their nest, herded by their mother, who advised them to get some sleep as well.
Neither Badgerpaw nor Slatepaw could sleep, though. The more they tried, the more restless they became. Both toms were excited to hear about Skunkpaw’s time in the battle. They wanted to hear everything.
Most every cat had gone to the battle, except for their medicine cat, Snowfleck, and the queens, kits, and elders had remained as well.
Badgerpaw was angry that he had missed out. He had perfected his charge-and-pin, but that's what got him here in the first place. He'd slipped on the wet rock, banging his shoulder against the ground.
Badgerpaw hoped to hear that Skunkpaw did something spectacular. Maybe he got his first kill… Badgerpaw doubted it. Skunkpaw didn't really like the thought of killing. He was fun-loving, and free-spirited. Not a killer, even if, by Thunderclan's standards, that was a good thing.
It was getting close to moon-high. Badgerpaw blinked, shifting beside Slatepaw. Slatepaw stirred, and mrrowed, “You think they'll be home soon? They've been gone for a while.” Slatepaw's tone was bright, but it had a faint echo of anxiety- faint enough to where only a cat used to his mannerisms would be able to see it.
Badgerpaw knew his friend loved his parents, and didn't want them to get too hurt, even if they didn't care for him much. Slatepaw had raised himself, for the most part- His mother and father were more concerned with their self-image of being fun and good warriors. They didn't bother doing anything with Slatepaw, except for the times it'd help them. Badgerpaw resented them in Slatepaw's stead, for Slatepaw could never hate his own family.
Badgerpaw could, though. He was full of hatred. Even if he felt bad for it, since for the most part, his family was better than Slatepaw's. Sometimes.
Badgerpaw fluffed out his long fur, turning to Slatepaw, “They'll be home soon. We won't hear the end of it from Skunkpaw for moons.” He grinned. He was a lot better at hiding his misgiving- When you lied to yourself, too, it eventually felt true.
Badgerpaw tipped his muzzle up, ears twitching. “He'll tell us all about how he chased off the biggest, meanest Windclan warrior. I'm sure Coalcrow'll tell us that it was really him getting chased. Mintflower's kits will get a kick out of it, though.” He assured, his tone confident.
It was Thunderclan, after all.
They always won.
Slatepaw seemed somewhat satisfied by his friend's response, and the two fell into comfortable silence.
What felt like moons later, but must've been until just after moon-high, the sound of cats entering camp alerted the tomcat. Badgerpaw's ears swiveled toward the source of the noise. He nudged Slatepaw, who had drifted into sleep. “I think they're back!”
Unease settled in Badgerpaw's stomach like a pile of rocks, but he tried to force it down. Where were the cries of victory? Maybe they were trying not to wake the kits and elders up.
Badgerpaw slid, stiff-legged from not moving for so long, out of the apprentice's den, Slatepaw on his tail, his paws pitter pattering behind Badgerpaw in an eager way, ready to see the warriors that returned.
The battle patrol was slowly filing back into camp. Brackenstar led them in, missing a clump of fur on his shoulder. A couple scratches were visible through his deep-brown pelt, and Badgerpaw straightened.
It felt off. Too quiet.
Brackenstar’s gaze met Badgerpaw’s for a moment, before darting away, to the apprentice's confusion. “You'd better go speak to Sablewren,” Brackenstar said, tone grave. Badgerpaw exchanged a glance with Slatepaw.
More cats were filling the camp, and Badgerpaw’s insides squirmed with discomfort as he noticed the injuries afflicting most every cat. Urgency sparked in his mind. He had to see if his family was alright.
He shouldered through the crowd, toward the center. He could've sworn he could see the black ears of his mother.
“Sablewren! What's going on?” He called, his normally suave voice cracking, betraying his anxiety. Slatepaw was close behind him, having seen his own parents.
Badgerpaw finally made his way up to his mother, only to see what she was hunched over. Who she was hunched over.
A strangled whine escaped Badgerpaw's throat as he instantly recognized the corpses. Slatepaw stiffened beside him with a wail, but Badgerpaw didn't have the strength to comfort him. The nauseating sight had already taken a toll on him, his mind an awful whirl of emotion.
His gaze was fixated on the bloodied bodies of his father and brother.
Badgerpaw shoved a cat aside, collapsing beside the motionless bodies. Coalcrow's head lolled, jaws parted in a yowl that would never be heard. His father's ear was almost completely clawed off. Meanwhile Skunkpaw's body was in further ruin- Deep, bloody gashes in his side stained and slicked down his black-and-white fur. The worst sight was the awkward angle of his neck… The way it jutted out. It was broken.
No! Skunkpaw and I were supposed to be Thunderclan's greatest warriors. We were supposed to make Coalcrow proud.
Fighting back tears, he wrenched his focus away from the bodies and toward his mother, silently begging for her to do something. To say something. Sablewren seemed to notice his presence then, for she snapped her jaws toward her son, eyes red and angry. Badgerpaw flinched backwards.
“Get away!” Badgerpaw's mother shrieked. He backed away, tail between his legs.
“You should have been there! You knew your brother was too weak to be in a battle alone! You- you should have protected him, so your father wouldn't have to end his life doing it!” Sablewren's voice was trembling, as was the rest of her body.
Badgerpaw stared at her in dismay, his heart sinking in such a way that it felt like it dropped right to the ground. Was that really what she thought? His muzzle twisted- he couldn't handle her behavior toward him. Not this time, not with the smell of his family’s blood in the air.
“It's not my fault!” he shouted, stretching out his neck and puffing out his fur. He was a big cat, already nearly the height of his mother. But Sablewren’s anger was larger than her senses, not fearing her son in any capacity, snarling back at Badgerpaw, her voice low, “It is. Get away!” Badgerpaw jerked back at the sight of the hatred in her eyes.
The crowd of cats had all paused, and were watching the pair, boxing them in like a circle of wolves. Slatepaw stared at them, eyes wide.
“You should've- Should've- I… I hate you! You let them die!” Badgerpaw spat, and Sablewren glared back with a growl from deep within her throat. Being angry was the only way he knew how to process his feelings- After all, he had two fantastic examples of this for parents. She opened her mouth to say more, before Brackenstar and Oakscamper shouldered them apart, letting out furious yowls that just blurred in his ears.
Badgerpaw felt the rage that had enveloped his senses, making them melt away, only to be replaced by a dull throb of anger- and hurt.
You're my mother! Badgerpaw wished to have said, but now it felt like his jaws were clamped together. He couldn't be near the bodies of his kin anymore. They had been so alive this morning- so excited. Skunkpaw was so upset that he couldn't come.
Badgerpaw felt sick to his stomach. He wrenched his gaze away from the corpses and his mother, and backed away.
He turned, and ran out of the camp, not sure where he’s going. Badgerpaw just needed to leave. He couldn't be around them right now. His vision swam with tears, and Badgerpaw didn't stop running until he was well out of Thunderclan's territory, stopping at a small glade. He and Skunkpaw and Slatepaw used to go there all the time to train their moves at night so they'd be better practiced in the morning. For a slight moment the memory fills his stomach with a slight warmth, but it disappears as fast as it appears.
Badgerpaw's chest heaved, and he gazed up at the tree before him, partially stripped of it's bark. He, his brother and friend had all came here and scored their claws through the bark- along with countless others of cats who had discovered the clearing moons before them.
Tears glistened in his brown eyes, looking throughout the forest around him. . Nobody was around anymore. He could let them out now, and did. He slumped down, in the roots of the tree, and buried his head in his paws, thoughts filled with memories of his kin.
What am I supposed to do without you, Skunkpaw?
And Coalcrow.
I never got to make you proud of me.
Badgerpaw's eyelids drooped. The whole day of staying away was beginning to catch up to him.
He thought of Sablewren, and her words.
You should have been there.
He should've. His shoulder didn't even hurt- Guilt swarmed at his insides, but a new wave of anger brought clarity to his mind.
It wasn’t. It wasn’t his fault, was it? It was Windclan’s. They had killed them- They were the reason Sablewren despised him now, the reason for his family to be dead. His brother. His best friend.
Badgerpaw sat there for a while, his thoughts filled his head, until sleep lulled him in, closing his heavy eyelids.
I’ll make sure you don’t die in vain. He promised, and fell asleep.
A sharp prod in Badgerpaw’s side woke him. He hardly even bothered to open his eyes. Leave me alone, Slatepaw. He wished he could sleep forever, or wake up and find that it was all just an awful dream. Maybe any minute now, he’d wake up and remember that he had a battle to go to.
“Hello? Helloooo, are you even alive?”
The voice sounded nothing like Slatepaw’s- Or any cat he knew. Badgerpaw jumped up with a start, his pelt ruffled with sleep.
The unfamiliar cat let out a mrrow of surprise, hopping away on nimble feet. Badgerpaw looked at her sullenly. He didn’t even have the energy nor will to chase her away, as most Thunderclan cats would have done.
“You scared me,” The she-cat purred with amusement, tail flicking through the air, before a slightly more serious expression took over her features. “Who even are you, though? I’ve never seen you here before, and I’m here every day!”
She was a long-furred white she-cat with small little diamond-shaped spots on her fur, and the brightest blue eyes he had ever seen. She didn’t look any older than Badgerpaw himself.
Badgerpaw didn’t answer for a long time, and the she-cat snorted. “Not a very talkative one, are you?” She leaned forward, sniffing him. Badgerpaw recoiled instantly, to the other cat’s amusement. “You smell like one of those bee-brained Clan cats.”
Badgerpaw’s tail twitched. “I am one.” He snapped, his eyes slightly red from the flood of emotions yesterday. He still felt so… Empty.
“That got you going, at least. You’re very grumpy, you know that?” The white cat rolled her brilliantly blue eyes. “I’m Jewel. I live around these woods. I want you to answer me.” She said, tongue sticking out at the end of her words, a playful sparkle in her eyes.
“My name is Badgerpaw.” He grumbled, a bit of his standoffish demeanor beginning to slip away. All he felt now was sad, and lonely. His head drooped, and he slumped down against the ground. “Just leave me alone. I don’t want to talk to anyone.” Not now, not ever.
To his surprise, Jewel laid down in front of him curiously. “But I’ve never actually met a clan cat. Only been chased away by them. Are they all so… Sad?” She questioned, reaching out with a paw to experimentally bap his ear- as though testing whether he was real, or not.
Badgerpaw flicked a black ear, and shifted his head away so he wouldn’t have to look at her. He squeezed his eyes shut.
Jewel scooted back up into a sitting position. “Not a talker. I get it, I guess. My ma’ was like that.” Her mew sounded wistful, as though reminiscent of the past. Her eyes took on a glassy film, and she frowned. “I miss ‘er a lot. When she would talk, it was always so smart. She always said, ‘Jewel, you’ll know all that I do once you lose that sharp tongue of yours’. I was like you when I lost her, you know that? Didn’t want to talk to anyone. Not that there was anyone to talk to,” She added, with a wry chuckle matched with a twitch of her long white whiskers.
Badgerpaw’s ears perked, and he glanced at her. He bit his tongue, fighting back the urge to just tell her everything. Maybe talking to someone would help- She seemed to be in his situation too, but all he could manage out was a quiet murmur.
“My littermate and father just died, too.”
Jewel’s tone softened, and she cocked her head to the side. “Oh yeah? See, we ain’t so different, even if you’re a clan cat.” She held her tongue between her teeth for a moment, eyes glittering with sympathy. “But I know what it’s like- Obviously- but it’ll get better, you know? Just gotta be loyal to yourself. Don’t get lost in your grief- I almost did, and it nearly cost me my life.”
Badgerpaw met her gaze, fighting down a lump in his throat. “Really?” His voice came out far more squeaky than he had intended, but he felt like it was pretty understandable for someone in his situation.
“Yeah, it will.” Jewel said, leaning closer and offering him a toothy smile. “I think you’ll be fine. You’ve just gotta keep moving. Grief’s the price you pay for love, and we all gotta pay the price, sooner or later. But I’m sure they loved you. You’ve got time to move on, and you will.” She assured him.
Badgerpaw nodded, his eyes half-open and glum. However, a. . . Curious look was on his face. Despite himself, the words Jewel spoke gave him some sort of comfort, and Badgerpaw desperately craved that. Sablewren would never give him any solace.
Jewel tilted her head, watching his expression- Seeming to almost read his mind. “I’m not used to being around cats… But maybe if you come here again, you’ll be lucky enough to catch me.” She said, tone teasing. She touched her nose to his, and Badgerpaw blinked in surprise.
And catch her he did.
For moons, and more to come, the two would meet up- Badgerpaw would even bring Slatepaw along sometimes- and just talk. For hours. He learned about how she had been orphaned when she was young, and she’d help him through his grief, and help him when he and Sablewren’s arguments became more frequent, and talked him through her death, as well. She was there when he was Badgerglade, and stayed with him when he inevitably became Badgerstar. She helped him rescue a young kitten, barely a moon old, from a fox.
The kitten’s name was Stag. They couldn’t save his father, nor his littermates, but the best thing they could do was have Badgerstar bring him back to Thunderclan. Slatefox and Badgerstar would raise him, shielding him from the scornful words of the other cats in the clan who couldn’t believe he’d bring an outsider to their clan.
Badgerstar taught him to be loyal, for that’s what mattered the most to him.
The Thunderclan leader would never forget the words of his mother, though. The sting of her tongue would never leave him. He would always remember what had caused his family to crumble, no matter how long ago it was. He even learned the killer of his brother- an older Windclan apprentice named Pythonpaw.
One day, Badgerstar knew he’d get his vengeance.

1. The chosen one (Dark! Nicasia x reader)
*I am sorry for the inappropriate use that this text can present in English, I have translated it on google.
TW: Kidnapping, obssesive tendences.
Strange was the first word you thought of when you woke up in a cozy hammock of grass and things that only a qualified florist could determine. You didn't remember drinking or going to a party with friends. What's more, due to the sudden move to America, your number of acquaintances had gone down unbelievably.
You sat on the soft cloth body trying to re-create how you ended up there.
But nothing.
You felt your throat tighten from the fear that was beginning to rise deep in your chest. You waved your hands anxiously and focused on the sound of a waterfall in the distance, water trickling peacefully as travel magazines used to describe.
You didn't want to have a panic attack right now.
“You've awakened.”
You shook your head quickly.
In front of you was the most beautiful maiden you had ever seen. She had a well-kept braid, shiny, long and decorated with pearls, however, the most surprising thing was her blue hair. Her hair looked as if it had been treated in the best salons in New York, only for movie stars and celebrities.
“Yes?” You said numbly, the shock of seeing her took your breath away without knowing it.
She liked that reaction.
“My dear, you are with me now.”
Her tone didn't give you confidence.
“Who are you? Where I am? Because I am here? Are you from the mob?” Fear spread like fire with sticks.
"Calm down, little lily." Her voice was captivating, your muscles relaxed and your expression stopped being aggressive.
The mysterious lady approached you with steps similar to what she would take an angel, you hardly heard any noise and she had the poise of a model. Seeing her come towards you allowed you to observe her clothing, it seemed from those fantasy novels that you vaguely heard from your university classmates.
“You're mine.”
You stood up immediately.
"I don't even know who the hell you are!"
"Don't talk to me like that." To your surprise, your mouth closed as if by magic. “Little human, if you'd let me explain...” She didn't even bother to see your vague attempts to speak, “everything would be easier.”
"Well... talk to me," you said with great force, for some reason you couldn't insult her or raise your voice.
Her dark blue lips distracted you, but your willpower brought you back to reality.
“I am Nicasia, little lily, I am not a mortal like you. I'm not human and this is your new home.”
You took a few steps back, alarmed. It must have been some crazy, raving actress!
“Home? What are you talking about? Is it some kind of joke?”
"I can't joke…" she murmured vaguely before turning her attention to you. “I have chosen you as my consort, sweet lily. You should be proud.”
“What are you?”
The fear had escalated to the point that it was reflected in your voice. You thought about some kind of scandal related to kidnappings, any rumors to clear everything up and not have a panic attack right then and there.
"I'm a fairy, what's more," she proudly raised her chest, "I am the crown princess of the kingdom of waters and tides."
The expression on your face made Nicasia smile.
You were a limnologist, your passion had made you interact with the aborigines who lived near rivers in various parts of the Strait of California and the Mississippi. You heard legends of fantastic beings, of seductive women with long hair in shades similar to blue and green who used to take unsuspecting people to the depths.
"You're kidding," was the only thing you could manage. There was a strange tightening in your throat when you wanted to say "crazy".
You took a quick look around the place, noticing the magical landscape that surrounded you. The floor was made of sea stone that was curiously warm despite your worn boots, the walls themselves seemed to be made of flower buds, and a lot of precious objects further embellished the room.
"You'll have a hard time accepting it, but I'll show you."
To your surprise, a large amount of water came out of the large pink shell that served as a sink. Nicasia delicately moved her wrist and turned it into a gigantic drop.
That was enough to understand how screwed you were.
“I don't want any of this, really. Choose someone else, I… I'm not the one.”
The princess looked at you as if you had said something ridiculous. She shook her head and got as close to you as possible, leaving you between her and the hammock.
"Aren't you the one? I have not met any mortal more valuable than you. When my mother told me that she could start looking for a partner, I thought it was the most tedious thing in the world. I talked to almost every damn thing here looking for someone worthy to be my mate and found no one. Had it not been for my good friend Cardan, I would never have dared to go to the human world.”
She gave a dramatic pause and continued.
“Your world is chaotic, weird and uncomfortable, but I steeled myself and went on my way looking for someone special. I was persecuted by unworthy servants, naive stalkers...” Her gaze turned dark on hers. “human beings who seemed to be important because they were followed by devices called cameras. I was bored and decided to take a dip in an almost unknown river, no one would bother me there, the mud people know not to go near that area and that's when I saw you. You had a notebook and a pen in your ear, distracted you looked at the tides in the distance and you didn't notice my presence. You never did, that's what interested me. You weren't annoying like the others, you were smart…, generous and charming…” The crazy gleam in her eyes startled you. “I accompanied you both on your outings in the woods and around your beloved mortal school. A few moons passed and I realized that you were perfect. You are perfect to be a queen by my side.”
She took your hands without realizing the fear that invaded you.
"Please," you begged, holding back tears.
“Please what? sweet pearl.” Unaware of your fear, she stroked your chin. “You will remain with me forever, you will have power and riches, you will be my beloved companion forever. I will not let anyone hurt you, I will destroy all those who want to separate you from my side or seek to destroy you. No, I'm not going to allow even an unseemly look. You belong to me, lily, from the moment I saw you.”
"Leave me alone, I beg you."
The anxious pressure in your throat can no longer be ignored. It's too much information for your anxious mind.
“Why?” The tone of annoyance is not lost on you. “You should be thankful that he chose you! You were nobody out there and now you will be my wife! Isn't that a cause for joy, mortal?”
"I don't want to be your wife." You try to scream, but you can't. “I don't want to be anything of yours, put me back where I belong.”
“The only place you belong is next to me, is it so hard to understand?”
The roar it releases surprises you, your kidnapper is as precious as it is deadly.
“But don't worry” her look at you becomes more tender, “you just have to listen to my words...”

Schrodinger's Boy
I missed Phan Phic Phight but now I'm here for Dannymay! Not really going along with the prompts, just wanted to write something for the month.
I dedicate this to @five-rivers because i love their stuff so much!
Please, enjoy!
***
Schrödinger’s Boy
It was dead when she saw it.
Oh so very dead, but walking. Talking. Living.
That really doesn’t make sense, so let’s start from the beginning;
Nelia Ugochi d’Bandinello was not a normal child. Ever since she was young, she could see death. And no, not like the walking skeleton clad in black robes and a scythe most people assume, but real death; the dead, the dying, the undead, all. No one, not even her closest family members knew, and she intended to keep it that way. As long as she kept to her own and didn’t cross the line for the rules, she was safe.
Ever since her family moved to this country, she knew the small, sleepy town was a little dead. The essence was in every nook and cranny, even the air had a thin yet distinctive layer of it. Nothing she couldn’t handle.
That is, until now.
The air’s death suddenly sharpened the moment before it walked in.
At first glance, it looked like a boy. A cute boy in fact. Short compared to her tall. Pale skin in contrast to her deep dark, straight black hair opposed to curly blond. Baby blue opposing forest green. But then, the closer she looked, the more she noticed what was off. Skin was a little too pale to be considered healthy, and became slightly transparent as she saw more. Hair was wispy and floaty, almost defying gravity, almost flowing like it was under water as its head bounced. Eyes a bit more, sunken, a bit more tired. Worst of all, its heartbeat sounded so, so slow.
And now, it was sitting two tables across from her.
She swallowed the milkshake that threatened to spill out of her mouth. She tried to turn back to her food, tried to ignore its presence. But she kept glancing its way, turning back to the most terrifying yet fascinating creature she had ever seen.
And she just. Kept. Staring.
One of its cohorts – the black one with glasses – pointed at her direction, and it suddenly looked over. Their eyes made contact. She gasped and looked away.
‘Such haunting eyes.’ She thought.
“Nelia? What’s wrong?” She looked up to see her brother Irnerio, who had previously been trying to unhinge his jaw to fit an absolutely massive burger, was now looking at her in concern.
“Nothing.” She forced out. She glanced back at them. Her brother’s concerned face was already contorting into a smug grin.
“Oh? Falling in love already?” He chuckled “It’s the pale boy, right?” Her cheeks heated. Definitely not what was happening.
“Shut up.”
“Well, you did say that one of the advantages of moving was ‘Date cute Americans’. Though I must say, I always thought that the goth girl would be more your type. You could both indulge in your weird fascination with death.”
She hit her brother in the ribs.
“Stolto*.” She hissed. “I said shut up.”
Her brother laughed.
***
“Dude, the new girl is totally checking you out.”
Danny swallowed his bite of a burger. “What?”
He, Sam and Tucker had gone to Nasty Burger for lunch that Saturday, and had noticed the two newest additions to the town residence. The girl had been looking at them ever since they walked in.
“She’s probably not into me. Probably looking at Sam. They look foreign, so for all we know, she may be their first goth.”
“An honour I am willing to have with pride.”
“She’s looking over here right now!”
Danny turned to where Tucker was pointing and sure enough, she was looking at them. They made eye contact, and hers widened and she looked away.
“See? Totally into you.” Danny rolled his eyes.
“Whatever, Tuck.” He continued eating his burger. But somehow, he couldn’t shake the stare off of him. As if she was looking past his flesh and staring at the very ghost that made his soul.
He shivered at the thought.
***
Oh God above, it went to her school.
The creepy thing goes to her school.
She wondered how it got into her school. She wondered why, of all things, it had to attend as a student.
Mondays where truly the worst days of the week.
She had learned the creatures name was Danny Fenton, official school weirdo, son of the two most successful ghost hunters (oh the irony), and all-round loser she shouldn’t interact with (according to the Mexican girl that approached her). She didn’t really care though, as much as she was weary, she still wanted to know what it was. And she was determined to find out.
The bell rang, pulling her out of her thoughts. She sighed and pulled her books from her locker. She didn’t want to be late.
***
Hours later, school was long over, and Nelia was busy at work in the kitchen, kneading dough for her second batch of strawberry calzones, the first already in the oven. Her mother stood at in front of the doorway, watching her.
“That’s a lot of dessert calzones for 4 people.”
She finished kneading and started rolling out the dough. “Oh no, ours are part of the last batch. Most of these are offerings.” She turned to her mother. “I’m going to the Cemetery after dinner. To pay some respects.”
Her mother sighed. There was no talking her out of this. Every time they go someplace new, she always paid her respects at a local gravesite. She stopped trying to prevent her a long time ago.
“Well, just be back before midnight. But in the meantime, let me help you close the ones you’ve already filled. We could talk, use some mother daughter bonding time.” She smiled and nodded at her mum, handing her a spare apron. She gladly took it and set to work beside her daughter.
“Have you heard? There’s a story I heard. They say this town has some kind of ghost hero…”
***
It was late in the evening, and she had paid her respects at the last grave when she saw him.
And he was oh so very much Alive.
Silver white hair adorned his head like a glowing crown. Striking, electric green eyes, a black jumpsuit with white boots and gloves. Veins, across his skin, visible with the implication of pure green death flowing in them, the sound of each breath he takes. A pulsating buzz emitting from his chest, almost sounding like a beating heart. These where the features of Amity Park’s local hero and (dead) celebrity, Danny Phantom.
And he had just landed in front of her.
“Um, are you ok? It’s pretty late out.”
She blinked at first, startled to hear him talk, but composed herself enough to speak.
“Ah, yes I’m fine. Just, paying my respects.” She gestured to the grave and the basket of food.
“Oh, really? That’s nice of you! Apart from family, hardly anyone pays respect these days.”
“Yes, it’s something I try to do everywhere I go. Speaking of respect, where’s yours?”
Danny blinked. “My what?”.
“Your grave. I have to pay my respects to you. This is the only cemetery in town, but I didn’t see your grave.”
Danny froze in shock. He hadn’t really thought about it.
“Oh. I kind of, uhm, don’t have one?” Because I’m not really dead.
It was Nelia’s turn to be shocked. And then she was angry. Was this town really so ungrateful that they didn’t have a grave for their hero? That wouldn’t do.
“Where do you want one?”
“What?”
“Where would you want your grave? I’m going to make you one.”
Danny’s eyes widened.
“Your… going to make a grave for me?” “Of course? It’s only common decency, a basic right to the dead. I might not have your body, but if I have a photo to at least mark your image, it would do.”
Danny was stunned by this gesture. No one had offered him a grave before. So, he told her about his ideal spot.
Weeks later, in a secluded spot in the woods, he stands with her above a freshly dug grave, underneath a willow tree, facing directly at the night sky marked with a picture of him in his ghost form. She drops a plate of calzones and lights some lavender incense. She pays her respects and stands back letting him trace over the picture and admire the grave. It’s not the best grave, but it’s also the only one he’s received. He couldn’t help it, as a few tears dripped from his eyes. It was a sweet gift.
He turns to her, clasps his hand in hers. He manages to choke out between tears.
“Thank you.”
She stares back at him. This action, it’s so… human. She senses familiarity, like she could almost imagine him when he was alive……
Oh.
Oh.
The connection between the dead boy and alive ghost hits her like a train, all the similarities adding up. She smiles at him.
“It’s your grave. You should bring your friends to see it.”
His eyes widen in panic, wondering how she found out. She shakes her head.
“I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”
He relaxes and nods, let’s go of her hands and they stare back at his very own grave. Sam and Tucker are going to flip when they see it.
That night, she’s back in her room, wide awake, thinking of everything that happened. His hands were cold, but not like death cold. Like he had stuck his hands in the freezer. His tears were so real.
This boy, who was dead yet alive. Walking perfectly on the line between life and death, tittering to neither side.
Schrödinger’s boy indeed.

Yandere! Demon China Headcannons? Please?
I tried with this one. But I still hope you like it.
Yandere! Demon China is a wise ancient evil that lives lavishly and enjoys keeping pretty his them does largely play on Greed similar to Demon King America but different. China is far more cunning and sneaky than America and is much harder to tell what he’s scheming most of the time and has a way better control of his temper than most Demons.
When he meets you you must have been wearing something that was super adorable or absolutely stunning that caught his eye. There isn’t much that makes Yandere! Demon China. Being as he’s seen everything that the world has to offer it’s usually extremely hard to make him interested but once he is: Prepare to never have privacy in your life ever again.
It starts off easy he meets you in a cafe he introduces himself to you and expresses interest in your clothing and wants to know where you got such a cute ensemble from. As he wants to add to his massive closet back home that only seems to get bigger and bigger each year. (Seriously this guy has at least 20 walk-in closest to his home. He likes to dress up almost every day.) He will flirt with you and he will manage to obtain your number and your first name. Bingo. Commence the stalking and surveillance of your person.
He will have various contacts that are close to you and keep an eye on you and all of the things you do daily. Whether you’re a simple introverted office worker or an extremely extraverted head bartender at a popular night club he will know our schedule. He will at some point fly to your home and place hidden microphones and cameras in your apartment. He might even be so bold as to place one in your purse.
He will start off easy. He will text you occasionally to see what you are up to and if you want to go to that new cat cafe that has super adorable cutlery. Or if you want to go to that new pop-up show with the up-and-coming kawaii designer that is taking over East Asia by storm. He knows your interests and he will use this information to his advantage.
Yandere! Demon China may even be so possessive as to place a mind-reading spell on you so he knows what you’re thinking about at all times. He just really wants to know his sweet darling really well.
“Oh y/n you are so cute. Being embarrassed about spilling that latte on yourself that left and hardly noticeable stain on your skirt. You worry about such little things.”
(Yes, he’s that nosey.)
While he courts you Demon China lays on being lavished extremely think so much so to where it does make you uncomfortable. Things like giving you that expensive outfit you liked at that really high-class mall you went to you get said outfit a week later. You get a Tiffany bracelet that is worth more money than you’ve ever had in your life. Or you receive the latest iPhone when you’ve only just met him 3 days ago. Demon Yao will lay it on thick that he’s in love with you and he will provide you with anything. Even if it’s not something you asked for.
However, China is JEALOUS AS HELL. He doesn’t like any rival or even best friends to be around you at all it cuts into the time that he has with you. So expect that a lot of the people you know in your current life to be found missing or their body has been found in a river. Demon China has a plethora of Demons under his command and it’s safe to say that he WILL isolate you it’s just a matter of how social you are. If you are extremely introverted and have few friends, congratulations, only a few people will die that are close to you. And yes, that does include family. No one is safe if they’re close to you. Even if you have daily interactions with someone that are extremely casual and mundane said person could still possibly end up dead if they can’t read the negative demonic energy that Yao has you engulfed in. If they’re spiritual and see the storm that is Yao it would be in their best interest to stay far away from you and maybe leave town even if they have value in staying alive. Yao is a fucking vicious Demon King. He didn’t survive by being nice and liking cute things in the way that he does.
When he finally does manage to isolate you he does like to dress you up in frilly and cute things such as lolita fashion dresses (from Harajuku Japan), or because it’s his own in elegant Qipao’s or if he’s deep in his romantic fantasies you’re going to be in a lavish Hanfu made by the top designers in China. He wants you to feel like his Queen and look like it too. You’re going to be in his golden prison.
“Oh, my 皇后 you look so lovely.” He says with nothing but love-struck lust in his dark honey brown eyes. He wraps his arms around your form that is wrapped in gold and red Hanfu. You were a symbol of his happiness his joy. You were his love the new Empress of Blackened Gold in his domain of the underworld.
You were only calm because the poisoned tea that he had given you made you think nothing more of the way that he clung on to you too closely way too soon. Your intuition about the bad feelings he gave you were totally gone.
“Y/N why don’t you come with me? To my home? I mean I know you are nervous but…”
He couldn’t help but use his tail to make you look upwards at him. He wasn’t holding back now since your cognitive forces weren’t working anymore so nothing that he did with his demon powers seemed too odd to you or even in the slightest terrifying.
“You can have a better life than the one you have here. You would never have to work again. You could just be with me and be my lover.” He looks at you with a loving gaze as he brings you closer. He lets his entire form be released from the human disguise he was using to lure you in originally. He wraps his arms, wings, and tail around you.
“I love you y/n.”

*
“Ma’am, where’s the restroom?”
You turn and see a father holding a small boy in his arms, and you immediately jump into action, “Take a right out of these doors, down the hall until you see the blue traffic sign, and it’ll be on the right. There should be a Daffodil portrait on the wall right before your turn.”
The man heaves a happy - very relieved - sigh, “Thank you!”
“Of course!” You watch as he speedwalks out of the exhibit and takes off down the hall. You can only hope he actually makes it there.
The day shift has definitely been more exciting. It’s only been a few weeks, but your days have been filled with more excitement since you switched. You tried to continue with the night shift post, but the silence just became too overwhelming. Thankfully, Hoseok seemed to understand when you told him.
You switched back to the day shift in hopes it would help to take your mind off of Namjoon. You thought being surrounded by others would make you feel less lonely, but you can’t help but think about how your life has changed so drastically.
Adjusting to your new life hasn’t been easy. Everywhere you look, you’re reminded of Namjoon. You hear his laugh by the water fountains, you see his hair in crowds on the street, and you can still feel his arms around you at night as you lay in bed.
At first, you thought it was something you could handle. You thought if you embraced his goodbye, then you’d be content to live the rest of your life without him. But no one told you losing love would hurt this bad.
You’ve tried to do other things, like knitting and working out, but you’re not very good at either one - nor do you really like them. Cooking had seemed like a good idea until you realized that meant cleaning the dishes. With every attempt to move on, you seem to take 3 large steps back.
You find yourself going to places Namjoon would have liked. Spontaneous trips to the park lead to long evenings by the river. Extra hours at the museum have you wandering through the exhibits just to look at the art one more time. Even a quick trip to the store has you buying things you’ve never thought to try.
The one place you never go is the King’s exhibit. At least, not of your own free will. It’s only happened twice - once being today - because someone had to call out. And just like the time before, you find yourself at the aquarium.
A place where Namjoon was truly happy.
The touch tanks have quickly become a favorite of yours. They allow you time to think to yourself and drift off, to daydream about a handsome king with an endearing fascination for the world around him.
You like to visit the crabs the most. Mostly because you know Namjoon would if he could. He thought they were the cutest on your outing together, and holding the tiny creature in your palm you can see why.
“Ow!” You flinch at the small pinch from the crustacean. Your hands jerk, but you try to protect the crab the best you can without dropping it.
“Here-” A large hand reaches in front of you and plucks the crab from your hands, “These guys get a little finicky when you hold them up too high.”
You place your thumb over the pinch and turn to him, “Really? I can’t-” You pause mid-sentence.
Now, looking at the crab’s savior, you see him. Lilac strands poke out of the blue university hat he’s wearing. His khaki shorts are worn and just barely reach his knees, and his sneakers are all worn out. Even the socks he’s wearing have slightly lost their vibrance. His baggy t-shirt doesn’t hide the fact that he’s more fit than he was a few weeks ago, but a few weeks ago he had disappeared right in front of you. But there’s no mistaking that dimpled smile.
This is Namjoon.
You stare at him like a deer in headlights, and you must look exactly how you feel because his smile turns to concern, “Are you okay?” He asks.
You nod, “Yeah! Yeah, I’m fine…” You’re not. You’re absolutely stunned and he doesn’t seem to recognize you. They do say everyone in the world has 4 people that look just like them. How unfortunate that you’ve found his. “You just...look really familiar.”
“Really? Well, I guess that means I have a memorable face then.” He muses, chuckling to himself - Exactly like Namjoon. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” You take another selfish moment to look at him, admiring how gentle he is with the small creature in his hands. “You really seem to like the crabs.”
“Yeah, I do!” He nods enthusiastically, “I really only applied here as an excuse to play in the touch tanks.”
“Something easy to wind down from classes?” You ask.
His eyes widen in surprise, and he turns to you as if you suddenly grew 2 extra heads, “How’d you know?”
You giggle, “You’re wearing a university hat with your grad year.”
“Really?!” You nod and he pulls the cap off of his head, letting out a frustrated groan when he confirms he’s wearing his university hat, “No wonder my supervisor straight up ignored me this morning. This is the third time this month I’ve grabbed the wrong one.”
“At least it’s a nice hat.” You assure him, trying to remain positive.
He places the cap back on his head and sighs, “Tell that to him.” He brings the small crab still resting in his palms eye level, “This little guy knows exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t you, buddy?”
“Don’t tell me you speak crab.”
“Of course I do! You just have to know how to listen.” He says matter of factly.
“Alright then. Ask him how he’s doing.”
“I will.” He turns to the crab and stares at it as if they’re having a staring contest, “How are you feeling, little guy?” He moves the crab up to his ear and acts as though it’s whispering to him, nodding and humming disagreement, “I see...I’d be pretty frightened too.”
You narrow your eyes, “What did he say?”
“He said he was having a great day until someone came and held him up too high.” He teases.
“You’re taller than me!” You argue.
He looks you up and down, nodding, “You’re right…” He seems to contemplate for a moment before he shrugs with a sly smile, “He probably just likes me better.”
“Oh, really now?” You challenge. He nods proudly and you scoff, “Well, what’s your name? Resident Crab Whisperer?”
“No! That’s way too long.” He laughs. He extends the hand not cradling a crab towards you and smiles, “My name is Kim Namjoon.”
“Well…” You hesitate, trying your best not to react. You swallow your nerves and shake his hand with a smile of your own, “-It’s nice to meet you, Kim Namjoon. Any relation to the mummy at the museum?”
“That hopeless romantic from the Seoul Museum?” He jokes. He takes this moment to place the crab back into his touch tank, “Yeah, he’s like a great-great-super great uncle or something like that.”
“Well, you look like him.” You say. He gives you a confused look and you’re quick to back-pedal, “His portraits! You look like his portraits.”
“I do?” He asks.
“Besides the purple hair, I’d say you’re the spitting image.”
“I’ll have to check it out myself then.”
“Well, their hours are 8am to 10pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on Sunday.” He gives you a pointed look and you shrug, “I’ve been the night guard the past few years. I just switched to day shift.”
“Really?!” He asks in disbelief, “Isn’t it creepy working the graveyard shift? It must be way too quiet.”
“Not really.” You think back to the nights you spent with your Namjoon and how he made you laugh. You remember asking him the same thing one Saturday night after the museum closed. You two were much closer than his first Sunday there, but you couldn’t help but worry about how he must get through the night alone. But Namjoon was a king. He wasn’t worried about a bit of peace and quiet. “A friend of mine once told me that silence is more reassuring than anything. It means peace.”
“They sound wise.”
“He was...” You can’t help but think about Namjoon’s absence.
This always happens when you think about any good times you may have had, remembering how much fun you had and how you’ll likely never have it again. Being in front of this Namjoon does nothing to help you feel at ease.
“You know that movie-?! It’s-Oh...What was it called…?” The lilac-haired Namjoon suddenly claps his hands together with a proud smile, “Night at the Museum! Anything like that happen after hours?”
You chuckle to yourself, knowing better than anyone how Ben Stiller’s character felt during that movie. Of course, the Namjoon in front of you would never believe you, “I wish. It’d make some of the exhibits a lot more interesting.”
He nods, “I bet they’d be pretty interactive too…Could you imagine history telling itself?!”
“Please, I don’t want to hear about the love-life of a thousand-year-old mummy.” You joke, knowing full well you already have.
“Yeah, I guess that would get annoying after a while...always lamenting about love and what-not…” He seems slightly disappointed, but his smile comes right back, “Why don’t you let me show you around and I’ll tell you about our exhibits instead?”
You’re taken aback by his boldness, “Oh, are you sure?” He nods, “I don’t want to get you in trouble or anything.”
“Don’t worry about it! My shift ended like 30 minutes ago and this place is only open for another 3 hours.” He assures you, “So, what do you say?”
Maybe it’s because he’s the spitting image of Namjoon, or maybe it’s the similarities in their personas. Maybe it’s just the way his dimples appear every time he laughs and his laugh sounds just like his. No matter what it is that’s drawing you to this Namjoon, you find that your heart has taken over for your brain and it’s putty in his hands, “Sure. What’s the worst that could happen?”
Namjoon breaks into an excited grin, dimples on full display, “That’s the spirit!” He straightens his posture and holds his arm out for you as if he were a butler or an escort, “From here until the aquarium closes, consider me your personal tour guide for the rest of the evening. There won’t be a bench you haven’t sat on by the time we’re done!”
He’s confident.
But perhaps he’s too confident…
He takes you to places you’ve been before, educating you on every animal in great detail. He doesn’t miss a single species, and he takes great care to make sure you see what he’s talking about - guiding your head and pointing in the right direction. His enthusiasm is infectious, and you could listen to him talk for hours. He’s so well-spoken, and he describes everything in such wonderful detail. It comes as no surprise to you when he mentions himself to be a literature major.
He has such a unique personality and the most terrible humor. He tells you about his bike and how much he enjoys riding by the river and through the park. He tells you about his love for moon jelly and how it’s like looking up at the sky when you see them. Everything about him is just so uniquely him, but you can’t help but see all of the similarities he holds to your Namjoon.
His physical features are all the same: his eyes, his nose, his lips, his dimples, his height, and even his haircut! There’s no doubt that this Namjoon would look identical to your Namjoon if his hair were the same dark brown. His interest in the Moon and his love of literature. Your Namjoon would have excelled academically in this world just like this Namjoon. Even his love of small creatures and terribly out-of-date dad jokes is exactly the same!
He’s Namjoon.
But he doesn’t hold the memories of your Namjoon…
Taehyung had told you how Fate had tried to warn him several times. How Fate couldn’t change what would happen, and she could only hope to guide everyone to the best outcome without ruining the future herself. But how cruel could Fate be to have another Namjoon this close to you yet not be yours. To thrust this on you so soon without even a few months to grieve more.
How could someone be so heartless?
---
“And this would be the last bench of our tour.” Namjoon says as you exit the aquarium, extending an arm as he presents it to you.
“Oh wow...” You thank him and take a seat, playing along with his charade - as you have all night - as you pretend to admire the bench. You admire the dedication plaque for just a moment before you turn to him in mock disappointment, “I thought you said we’d see everything on this tour?”
He shrugs, “I may have rambled here and there...” He seems almost sheepish as he realizes how he went on and on over every topic the two of you talked about, “Sorry about that.”
“No worries here.” You assure him. You’d take 5 more tours just to listen to him ramble on and on for hours, “Now I know that fish talk through make sounds by vibrating their muscles against their bladder. Pretty weird, but I wouldn’t know that if you hadn’t told me.”
“Well, I’m glad I could educate you a bit.” He seems nervous, shoving his hands into his pockets as he shifts from one foot to the other, “Maybe we can do this again?”
“Uh…” You hesitate, “Yeah. Maybe.”
It’s just a tour. No harm in that.
“Maybe...I could take you to dinner too?” He asks.
There’s some harm in that.
He already seems nervous so you try to find the right words to say, “Oh, I-” But your face seems to give you away way too easily.
“You’re not interested.”
“No-!”
“It’s okay! I get it, I understand.”
“No, you don’t.” You stand up and try to explain, but he seems to already have your rejection in his mind.
“No, please, don’t feel like you have to. I’ve been told I can be a bit pushy.”
“No, that’s really not it! I’d love to go to dinner with you!”
That seems to catch his attention.
“Really?”
You nod, “Yeah! Just not now, or like-...anytime soon.”
The last of Namjoon’s hope turns into skepticism, “Are you sure you’re not just saying that?”
“I know how it sounds, but please-!” You stop yourself before you can blurt out the wrong thing and scare him off entirely, “I lost someone really special to me recently. His loss hasn’t been easy for me, and I don’t want to jump into something too soon. I don’t think that’d be fair to you if I’m still hung up on someone else.”
“Oh wow...I’m really sorry about that.” You thank him and take a moment to breathe, holding yourself back from the tears that want to break free, “I went through a loss not too long ago too! You’re taking the right steps, and I appreciate you thinking about my feelings.”
You smile, “Of course! Everyone deserves that.”
“Well, no dinner then, but maybe another tour next weekend? Same time?” He asks, “Strictly hanging out though. No dinner.”
You nod, “I’d love that.”
“Then it’s a date!” He says excitedly. Though, as soon as the words leave his mouth he’s stepping over himself to correct what he’d said, “Not a date! Absolutely not a date. No, ma’am.”
You can’t help but smile fondly at how endearing he is, “I can’t wait.”
You squeeze the strap of the bag on your shoulder with one hand and wave with the other, turning and departing from the current Namjoon. Maybe in time, you can fall in love with this Namjoon for who he is and not because he reminds you of your Namjoon. At that point, then this lilac-haired, crab-loving, literature enthusiast would be your Namjoon.
You can only hope that day comes sooner rather than later.
*
*
*
“So, that’s it then?”
“I’m sorry?” You turn around confused, only about 50 feet away.
“I can’t believe you’re just going to be nice to this me, but not the one that waited 1,000 years for you!” He explains.
You’re so confused that it takes a second to grasp what this Namjoon is saying, and then it hits you. This Namjoon isn’t just any Namjoon.
He’s your Namjoon.
King Kim Namjoon.
The Hopeless Romantic from the Seoul Museum of Art and History.
“Namjoon…?” You ask. You know it’s him, you’re confident. But it still seems like it’s way too good to be true.
He nods, “It’s me.”
In an instant, you’re running towards him. You fling yourself into his awaiting arms and squeeze him as tight as humanly possible, burying your face into his neck as the tears begin to form in your eyes. You let your hands thread through his soft, purple locks and allow yourself to relax with his arms squeezing around your waist.
You bask in this overwhelming feeling of being whole again. You feel light and complete for the first time in weeks and it fills you with so much joy that you can hardly contain yourself. The embrace feels like that first kiss all over again, and you just never want to let him go.
As you calm down and you come to realize that Namjoon isn’t going anywhere, you pull away just enough so you can see his own tear-stained face. His cheeks are red and his eyes are puffy, but his smile is unmistakable with those gorgeous dimples of his.
Looking at him, it’s now that you realize…
He remembered you this whole time.
You smack his chest - not enough to hurt him, but enough so he knows you mean business - and he flinches, “How dare you play with me like this, Namjoon? Do you know how hard the past few weeks have been for me?!”
“I’m sorry!” He apologizes. He runs his hands up and down your sides affectionately, trying to keep you close - and not angry with him, “Trust me when I say this wasn’t easy for me either.”
As much as you would love to be mad with him for pretending he didn’t know you, you can’t. You’re just happy he’s here more than anything. But that still begs the question, “How are you here?”
“I’m not supposed to say much, but I can tell you the other deities had a few tricks up their sleeves.” He explains. He takes a moment to admire your features and leans down to press a kiss to your temple, “But I think most of the thanks needs to go to Taehyung.”
Your eyes widen in shock, “You know about him?!”
He nods, “It was a shock, but he and the other deities explained everything.” He pulls you closer and uses a hand to cup your face, “They gave me a whole life to share with you.”
You lean into his touch, but you’re still reeling from everything that’s happened in such a short time, “And you just remember everything?”
“They gave me the memories back.” He corrects. He’s so close now and you want nothing more than to start where the two of you had left off before you broke the spell, “I guess Fate had a backup plan for him.”
“Thank Fate for that.” You say before giving in to your temptation and pulling your soulmate in for a much needed, long-awaited, proper kiss
* *
*
“You wanted to see me?”
You look up from your paperwork to see Taehyung standing in your doorway, wearing his favorite emerald 3 piece suit. His fist is raised to the door frame as if he knocked just before he spoke. You must not have heard him.
You wave him in, “Yeah, come in! I’m just finishing up with this finance report.” You expect him to come right in, but he seems hesitant to do so. “Are you okay?”
“Am I not in trouble?” He asks.
Your brow raises in confusion, “Why would you be in trouble?”
“Well, Jimin said-'' Taehyung stops. He remembers the other day after work when he’d come home to Jimin and Jeongguk, going at it in the kitchen for the 4th time in 2 weeks. He’d thought it would be funny to dump water on them - and so had Guk - but the Earth deity had apparently been unamused. Of course, him being the pettiest individual he would settle for a payback that would absolutely scare him. He sits in the chair across from you and throws one leg over the other, “Nevermind. I know what happened.”
You chuckle, “Well, I have a surprise for you. That’s why I asked for you.”
“Oh, really?!” He’s definitely surprised, “What is it?”
“Well-” You move your finance report to the paper organizer on your desk, grab your bag at your feet, and stand up, “-why don’t show you?”
He uncrosses his legs and stands, “We’re going somewhere?”
You nod, “If you’re up for it.” You hold your hand out for him, an action that’s become normal between the two of you.
He takes your hand and you both exit your office together, leaving the human way. You make your way downstairs hand-in-hand, passing patrons that still roam the halls or meander up and down the stairs taking pictures to their heart's content. It all makes you feel human, and feeling human makes you feel happy.
On your way through the lobby, you catch sight of Eunha talking to another security guard. She’d made a request to switch shifts, and you made sure to have Hoseok take over her position under the guise of someone else. She looks happier, but you know better. Thankfully, her shift will be over in a few more hours.
“She’s pretty strong.” Taehyung comments, seeming to already know what you’re thinking. “I talked to her this morning and at lunch. She’s holding it together.”
You manage half a smile, “That’s good.”
Seokjin spots you walking together as you get closer to the exit and his smile widens, “Goodnight, (Y/n)! Goodnight, Taehyung!”
“Have a good night, Seokjin!” You respond, offering a small nod.
“See you tomorrow!” Taehyung waves. Seokjin gives him an indiscreet wink and you pretend you don’t see it even when Taehyung gives him an even more obvious wink back.
You playfully bump him with your hip and he pulls you with him, raising your joined hands above your head and resting them on your opposite shoulder. You squeeze as tight as you can together to fit through the door frame and out to the open air.
“I heard you promoted him.” Taehyung mentions as you make your descent down the large staircase.
You shrug, “There was an opening available.”
“Was there?” He asks, nudging you with his elbow.
You nod, “Yes. There was.” You nudge him back.
“Are you sure~?” The blonde asks again, “I’d hate to see you fall victim to those silly human emotions~”
You let out an exasperated sigh, “Oh, you are something else!” You drop his hand and rush two steps ahead of him, but he’s right behind you.
“I’m just looking out for you!” He defends. He rushes down the steps to the bottom before you make it to the last step and he puts his hands out to stop you, “We wouldn’t want to upset the council, would we?”
“I think you’ve done enough angering the council to cover me.” You remind him, poking his nose with your pointer finger, “Besides, maybe I want to get under their skin.”
“All of them? Or someone specific?” He asks, already knowing the answer.
You sigh, “I’m not saying Seowoo deserves it, but that’s exactly what I’m saying.”
“I can’t argue with that.” He agrees. He looks both ways down the sidewalk, “Which way?”
“This way.” You point towards the side of the museum where the street light is out, the darkness wrapping around the corner and making the perfect disappearing point.
You take his hand and together you both walk into the shadows, walking into the darkest section of the sidewalk before disappearing at the corner. You round the trunk of a cherry willow, a sliver of distant light shining through the drooping branches.
Taehyung runs his thumb over your hand and stops, “Are you wearing rings?” He pulls back to check and does a double-take when he sees you in the dim light, “Why’d you change?”
“We’re at a university.” You explain. You’ve changed from your work clothes to a university sweatshirt and a pair of jeans, “I’d rather look like a student than a teacher. You should probably change too.”
“Oh...sure.” In his own fashion, he changes into a white shirt under a baggy, light beige sweater vest, a pair of jeans, and orange converse. He looks himself over once before fashioning a pair of gold-rimmed glasses to finish his look. “Where are we?”
“Eunha’s college.”
Taehyung’s eyes widen in surprise, “Why are we here? She’s still at work.”
“I want you to meet a friend of mine.” You explain.
“You have friends?” He asks, earning an unamused glare from you, “Sorry.”
“This way.” You lead Taehyung off the grass to the actual path and walk under the lights back towards the main building. When you reach a fork in the path you make a left to go around the side of the building between another series of buildings on the other side of the path. You keep walking until you reach another large area with benches, tables, and a fountain.
Sitting on the side of the fountain with just enough light that you can see them, is a trio of 3 men with different hair colors. One with midnight blue, a pastel pink, and lilac. Of course, you recognize them all without a problem at all.
“Hey, guys! Sorry, I’m late, I just had to grab Taehyung.” You call out.
The pastel pink head turns to reveal Hoseok - who’s changed from his normal all-black outfit to a black t-shirt with the word obey in colorful letters, bright orange pants, layered necklaces, and a pair of black, yellow-tinted glasses resting on the top of his head, “No worries, we haven’t gotten started yet.”
“Yeah, Joon was just telling us about the assignment we missed.” Yoongi agrees, revealing himself to be the midnight blue head of hair. He’s wearing an all blue, leaf-patterned outfit with a TuneSquad jersey underneath his top.
“You wouldn’t have missed it if you made it to class on time!” Taehyung freezes as soon as he hears his voice, pulling you to a stop as well. He knows that voice better than anyone, knowing damn well it belongs to someone that’s supposed to be dead.
Hoseok shrugs and leans back, “What can I say? I had priorities to attend to.”
“I just wasn’t interested.” Yoongi stands up and takes a few steps to stretch, revealing Namjoon sitting at the end of the three.
Namjoon is wearing a pair of light wash jeans and a black belt with a white shirt tucked in and a light blue button-up over it. He sighs, “How you have the highest marks in the class I will never know.”
Taehyung looks between the three of them, going back and forth between the two deities and Namjoon before settling on you, “What is going on right now?”
You squeeze his hand, “Just don’t say anything.” You pull him with you to join the others, coming to a stop in front of all of them. You point to the blonde and then to Hoseok, “Taehyung, this is Hoseok-”
The walking gumball throws up a peace sign, “Sup.”
“-Yoongi.”
“Hey.” He gives a small wave
“-And Namjoon.”
Namjoon is the only one to stand and walk up to Taehyung to offer his hand, “Nice to finally meet you.”
“Finally?” He asks, shaking the old king’s hand.
“(Y/n) hasn’t been able to shut up about you,” Namjoon explains with a devious smile. You visibly freeze and that only eggs him on more, “She said you were annoying when she first transferred into our class, then she said she thought she was in love with you.”
Taehyung gives you a look and you completely ignore him, “Namjoon!”
“Of course, we all knew she was,” Hoseok adds with a teasing smile of his own.
“Hoseok! Shut up!”
“How interesting.” Taehyung chuckles, happy to know how you feel even as you pretend you don’t exist, “Well, it’s nice to meet all of you.”
“Why don’t we all move this way? Maybe grab a bite to eat?” You suggest, hoping to move on from your own embarrassment.
“Yes!” Hoseok jumps up and throws his arms in the air before dropping them back down to his sides, “I’m starving!”
Yoongi scoffs, “You’re always starving...”
“I’m growing. I need sustenance.” Hoseok defends, patting his stomach for emphasis.
You walk up beside him and pat the back of his head, “I think all of that food is going right to your head.”
Hoseok looks like a kicked puppy and Namjoon sweeps into his defense, “C’mon, guys, don’t pick on him!”
“Yeah! Don’t pick on me!” He pouts, crossing his arms.
“He can’t help it if he loses brain cells without food,” Namjoon says, turning and grabbing his belongings while you and Yoongi laugh at Hoseok’s expense.
“Do you want me to swear at you?!” The poor god of Death looks absolutely appalled and utterly betrayed by the lilac-haired man. He huffs, “You children have no respect for your elders.”
“Can I quote you on that?” Yoongi asks, walking past Hoseok to grab his own bag.
“Absolutely not!”
Taehyung watches the dysfunctional chaos before him, in awe that the 3 pillars of balance could act like humans. Not just with each other, but with someone he himself once called a friend. You’re all so different than you are at the museum and the council meetings, it’s like you’re not even the same people.
“Tae?” You ask, pulling him out of his confused state. You hold your hand out to him, asking him to join you as the others continue to walk ahead. He accepts.
The 5 of you walk together, further away from the buildings on campus to the fence that lines the end of the property. You all forego the sidewalk for walking across the lawn, getting further away from the lights as you go.
Hoseok comes to a stop in the middle of the grass and Taehyung almost walks into him, “Do you think this is far enough?”
Yoongi looks around and shrugs, “I don’t think anyone will notice.”
“Notice what?” Taehyung asks.
“Way to sound like we brought him here to murder him.” Namjoon jokes.
“Namjoon. Hold my hand.” You say, dropping Taehyung’s for his.
Hoseok and Yoongi hold hands across from you and Namjoon laughs, “Oh, are we having that seance now?” He looks at Taehyung and winks, “Sorry, I guess we forgot to mention this part.”
“Just hold my hand.” You demand. He does and Hoseok takes his other, creating a chain between the 4 of you.
Yoongi takes a deep breath and sighs, “Alright, let’s do it.”
You and Hoseok nod in agreement and Namjoon nods as well, acting as though what you’re all doing is just a practical joke you hadn’t let him in on. It’s only when a soft golden light starts to travel between your hands and to him that he starts to get worried.
“What are you guys doing?” He asks, fearful of what’s going on. He tries to pull away, but you and Hoseok are much stronger than the poor human. The light only continues to grow brighter, and the brighter it glows the more concerned Namjoon becomes, “Guys-?!”
The light washes over him like a wave and it’s like someone has opened his eyes for the very first time again. He takes a deep breath, and then he’s looking around at the others and at himself and at Taehyung and it’s like he’s experiencing life for the first time all over again.
“How did-? But I thought-” He struggles to find the right words to say, unsure where to start, “What’s going on?”
You step in front of him, placing your hands on his shoulders, “Namjoon, I’d like to formally introduce myself. I’m (Y/n), and I’m Fate.”
His eyes widen, “Fate…?”
You nod and Hoseok pushes you out of the way to make his own introduction, “I’m Hoseok, but you’d know me better as Death.”
“You’re Death?” Namjoon asks, obviously not able to believe that someone like Hoseok could be something as dark and daunting as Death.
“Death equals mercy,” Hoseok explains. Both you and Yoongi push him from both sides and he chuckles, “Sometimes…”
Namjoon nods, not yet believing it but going along with the information anyways. He turns to Yoongi, “Does that make you Life?”
“Was it my sunny disposition that gave me away?” The blue-haired deity asks, earning a laugh from the king.
You move in front of Namjoon again and gently take his arm, “And this is Taehyung.” You pull him to where the blonde stands, still in shock, “You two have already met before, but you might remember him a bit differently.”
You place a hand over Taehyung’s head and down his front, revealing how he looked the very first time he had met with the king, “Jihye…”
“Hey.” Taehyung smiles sheepishly, waving shyly as his old appearance morphs back into his college boy disguise, “It’s been a while.”
They both just stare at each other, one nervous and the other in disbelief. Taehyung can’t help but think of all the things Namjoon could want to say to him. How disappointed he is. How upset he must be. It comes as no surprise to anyone when Namjoon moves forward and pulls Taehyung into a hug. His arms cross behind his head and he pulls Taehyung as close as humanly possible without hurting him, “I’ve missed you.”
His words are like a breath of fresh air and Taehyung finds himself relaxing into the embrace and holding his friend back just as tight, “I’ve missed you too…”
It’s a special moment, one Taehyung never thought he would get. His first friend is back and it’s thanks to 3 very unlikely people.
“Why didn’t you come to see me after the spell worked?” Namjoon asks, pulling away.
Taehyung looks down, slightly ashamed, “I didn’t want to mess up again.”
“Again?”
“Like the first time. We’d been so close, but even if I had made it work you still would have-” He stops. He doesn’t need to say it. Not when everyone already knows what he’s going to say.
“But I thought once we broke the spell I’d have to wait until my next life?” Namjoon asks, reiterating what both he and Eunha had put together.
“Technically, this is your next life.” Yoongi mentions.
Life’s revelation comes as a shock to both Namjoon and Taehyung, “What?”
“You were supposed to meet in this life, but because you two just had to make it happen sooner-” Yoongi makes sure to glare so hard in Taehyung’s direction that his planet might even shiver, “-the spell tore your soul away from this one and placed it with your previous body once the spell took hold again.”
“With the spell broken, we were able to put your soul back in this body and merge them together.” You explain. The 3 of you have been sitting on this plan for weeks, and you’ve carefully crafted a friendship with this Namjoon since his soul left his previous body just to ensure you’d be able to make this change happen altogether.
“You’ve been able to do this the whole time? Why didn’t you say anything?!” Taehyung asks, completely shocked. You give him this ‘are you kidding me right now' look and he seems to get the hint, “Right. Fate’s strings…multiple outcomes.”
“I can’t believe this…I can’t wait to tell Eunha.” The modern king is still entranced with himself like he’s never looked at his body before. And then his words hit him and he realizes that Eunha isn’t here and has no idea that he’s alive, “I have to go see her right now-!”
He turns to take off in a sprint and Hoseok places himself in front of him with a hand on his chest, “Not so fast, deadman.”
“Huh?”
Yoongi groans, “You cannot just go hunting her down.” He’d spent far too much time conversing with young adults and various incompetent professors just for this plan to work and he was not going to let it all boil down to nothing.
Namjoon however, doesn’t understand exactly what’s at stake, “Why not? I need to tell her I’m alive and that I’m okay!”
“The magic that brought you back is still fragile. If you go to her now then the whole thing could blow up in all of our faces!” Hoseok explains in his own, dramatic fashion.
“So, what? I’m supposed to just wait?!” The king asks in disbelief.
“It will happen as Fate allows.” You remind him, “You’ve waited this long for a miracle, I think you can wait just a bit more.”
Your words are simple and still just as cryptic as always, but they put him at ease and bring him back to his senses. He nods, “Right…”
“Geez, why couldn’t you have been that easy?” Yoongi says, turning to Taehyung.
The blonde scoffs, “I am easy!”
Hoseok laughs, “I don’t think you actually know what that means.”
Taehyung crosses his arms, “I’m doing my best, okay?”
“Well, now that we got all of that settled-” Hoseok claps his hands together loudly and rubs them together, “-let’s go get some grub.”
Yoongi turns to Hoseok in disbelief and hits his arm, “Are you serious, right now? You don’t need to eat to survive!” The blue-haired deity reminds him.
“But Namjoon does! I’m sure Namjoon would love a nice warm meal.” Hoseok turns to the poor human with a look that resembles a kicked puppy and it’s like they’ve gone back to being undercover again.
“I wouldn’t mind a bite to eat I guess?” Namjoon caves, the god of Death breaking into celebration while the god of Life can only sigh in disappointment, “If we go to that one place downtown we can order drinks at the student price.”
The offer of a few beers seems to peak Yoongi’s interest much more than a measly human meal, “Hoseok gets to pay for everything.”
Hoseok shrugs, “I don’t care. It’s not like I can’t create my own money.”
He turns to get back on track for the gate to leave campus and Namjoon trails after him, “Wait you can do that?! How does that even work?”
“Oh, don’t get him started. Just blame magic like every other human and let’s get to the bus before it leaves.” Yoongi calls out, starting at a slower pace behind them. They leave you and Taehyung to take the back of the group, the both of you trudging along at a slow pace behind them.
“So, are you going back to your duties now that everything is done?” Taehyung asks. A part of him hopes that you’ll stick around or maybe even come to visit him on his own planet, but he knows that you have your own duties to attend to.
But you’ve thought about this as well. You knew that once Namjoon’s memories were merged and he’d be left to go and find Eunha on his own, that you’d be free to go back to how you were before this fiasco started. But things are different now. Now, you have Taehyung who’s snuck his way into your heart and made you feel emotions that you’d left reserved for humans. He’s helped you understand how to feel without letting it interfere with your job, and you don’t want to let that go just yet.
You sigh, “You know, I don’t have a planet of my own. I really just drift freely within space when I’m not doing anything.” You kick at the dirt, “Maybe I could stay here on Earth. Do what humans do.”
He’s shocked, “You’re staying on earth?”
You shrug, “Yeah. I heard there’s this museum with this ancient mummy exhibit.” With a mischievous, all-knowing grin you ask, “Wanna go check it out sometime?”
Taehyung can’t help the smile that breaks out on his face. He takes his arm and wraps it over your shoulder, pulling you into his side, “I’d love to.”
You may not be able to look at your own future together, but at least you know that the both of you can do it together.
Maybe Hui was right.
Maybe for Fate, the future is written in the stars.

as dreamers do ||| n.jm
pairing: na jaemin x reader genre: fluff words: 2.2k a/n: hello!!! this is my first piece of writing in a very long time, so apologies if its all over the place/makes no sense!!! obviously this is all a work of fiction, disclaimer, blablabla, idk what i’m doing i just wanted to write drabbles about nct lmao, so with that being said!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Do you trust me?”
You roll your eyes in the direction of your coworker, Jaemin, who was sitting across from you in the fluorescent lit break room located just behind Splash Mountain’s gift shop and exit. The two of you were part of the massive workforce of college aged youth that Disney recruited every year to staff their theme parks and resorts. While you weren’t initially thrilled with your role as a custodian, you learned to appreciate its quirks - and that included the unique cast of characters otherwise known as your coworkers. From the full-timers that did their best to ignore your presence, knowing another semester would just bring a fresh wave of new faces, to your fellow program cohorts - Jaemin being one of them.
Assuming he was just quoting Aladdin at you, you offer no response to Jaemin’s initial query and continue scrolling through your phone, shoveling the few remaining cheese crackers from the nearby vending machine down your throat, intending on savoring the remaining minutes of your last break for the evening.
Your thoughts wandered back to your fellow cast members. There was Daehwi, sheltered and away from home for the first time, affectionately nicknamed ‘baby’ by everyone he befriended. Wendy, with her melodic voice and cheerful disposition, eager to break into song at a moments notice. Lucas, who might’ve come to Florida to party first, but worked equally hard. Hani, who arrived a few weeks after you, always the first to come help when you radio that your restroom has overflowed, again. Even Jinho, who had initially fooled you with his youthful looks before revealing this was his third time through the program, had somehow wormed his way into your heart. But nobody had been as captivating as Jaemin. When you first met him in passing in the cramped break room, you were convinced casting had made a mistake, that he was lost on his way to costuming for entertainment. He certainly looked like a prince - perfectly straight teeth, boyishly handsome good looks. A few days later he was assigned to clean the same bathrooms as you - “bathroom buddies” as everyone affectionately would call the practice. There, in the shared stockrooms, you learned who Jaemin was beyond his beautiful face - how his friends back home called him Nana, that he was studying photography in college, that he was an only child, a helluva flirt. Even your music tastes were similar, a fact you discovered on one of the many cramped, late night bus rides back to program housing where the two of you stood packed shoulder to shoulder, like sardines in a can. Jaemin interacted with guests both young and young at heart with an effortless charm and grace. Your managers loved him immediately, and before you knew it, you found yourself incredibly enamored with him too.
It wasn’t until his hand suddenly broke through your field of vision, blocking sight of your phone, that you realized Jaemin had stood up and was now standing directly in front of you. His head covered the harshest of the overhead lights, casting a soft halo glow around his black, messy hair and broad shoulders. He smiles down at you, innocently, and you feel your heartbeat accelerate when your eyes meet his own.
“Do you trust me?” he asks, again. This time, without thought, you place your hand firmly in his.
******
Jaemin leads you out of the blinding light of the break room silently, into the dark of the early winter evening. Eyes still adjusting, you follow behind him, thankful that your corner of the park was mostly deserted - Splash Mountain still closed for the season, only a few stragglers were coming and going to use the restroom in the area. You vaguely remember that Jaemin had been assigned a nearby zone to clean that evening - which was it again…?
He leads you up a flight up stairs, then, and that’s when it hits you. Train Zone. The Frontierland Railroad Station. It was an easy zone to clean, as the railroad shut down early each night before the fireworks display. Gathering the trash in an empty zone like this was a godsend, especially when compared to the other ride queues you had to clean, oftentimes fighting constant guest traffic like a fish swimming upstream.
Lost in your thoughts, you follow behind Jaemin as he completes his task diligently, making sure each trash can within the train station is empty and re-bagged for the next morning. It had been a few days since the two of you had worked in neighboring areas, and you often found yourself tongue tied when around him. The background music loop of Frontierland was noticeably absent, the speakers within the station shut off for the night. This led to Jaemin singing nonsense songs while tying up trash bags and wiping down surfaces, dancing lightly on his feet.
Turkey leg-g-g
At the train
D-d-d-driving me insane~
All you could do was laugh at his antics, and before you knew it, the nearby banana boat parked at the exit ramp was full of trash bags. Satisfied with the results of your hard work, you were about to begin the walk to backstage, where the dumpsters were located, when Jaemin turned about face, walking instead towards the train station.
“What are you doing?!” you hiss, not wanting to shout but needing to stress your confusion at his actions. Jaemin stops at the gate, unlatches it, before turning around, beckoning you over with a smile.
“I asked you if you trusted me, didn’t I?” his voice low in your ear upon your arrival at his side, banana boat now parked safely out of any guest traffic. Jaemin unlocks the gate for you, both of you falling silent on your walk back up into the depths of the train station - no more cute, silly songs spilling from his lips.
“Are you sure we aren’t going to get caught?” your voice carries louder than intended across the empty room as you go through the turnstile, and you wince.
Jaemin’s boisterous laugh took you by surprise, followed a moment later by his hand ruffling the top of your head, messing up your hair. As if to say, foolish.
“Getting the trash from up here is technically our responsibility. So what if it took us a little long?”
He was right - the best part of your job was the agency it provided. Sure, you were cleaning up garbage and bathrooms and vomit, but you could walk around freely. Explore hidden corners and crevices of the park. You knew all too well the allures of the shared hallway between the Frontierland restrooms, the stock closet next to the Veranda breezeway, the dumpster behind the Haunted Mansion - places the rest of your desperately horny coworkers had used to hook up in weeks prior. As you follow Jaemin around a corner towards the front of the station, through an open passageway, you wonder if that’s what he has in mind. That is, until you see the view in front of you.
Jaemin had led you to a small balcony that overlooked the whole expanse of Frontierland. From above you could spot guests walking about the park to and fro, the Rivers of America flowing gently behind them in the distance. Bits and pieces of Cinderella’s Castle were visible through the tree line, shining bright in multicolor as the nightly projection show proceeded to play.
“Jaem, it’s….”
“Nice, isn’t it?” He finishes your thought for you, his hand brushing over the staged decorations of fake barrels and crates against the wall of the balcony that seemed perfect to sit upon. Moments later, Jaemin plops down with a satisfied smile on his face and pats the space beside him, silently asking you to join him.
“Nice is an understatement” you offer in reply. A small laugh leaves his lips, a breeze rolls through. For just a moment, it is quiet and still.
“I’ve been wanting to show you this place for a while, but the stars just never aligned right until tonight.”
“You mean, the computer system that automates scheduling and staffing didn’t randomly place us in neighboring areas of the park until to-” Jaemin’s stiff elbow into your side lets you know to drop the wit. That you could do, but a question lingered in your mind, still, and you did have to voice your sole concern.
“How do you not get caught up here?”
Jaemin turns around, points to the solitary light on the balcony, and it’s then that you notice the bulb is off. You might feel exposed looking down upon everyone, but quickly realize that nobody is looking up at the closed train station - let alone looking for two cast members in white uniforms in the dark, goofing off on a weeknight.
Fooling around…
You were thankful for the cover of darkness in that moment, as you felt your cheeks turn crimson at the thought. Being alone, with Jaemin, this close, in the dark...This all seemed very sudden, despite everyone knowing about your big crush on Nana - he had to know too?
“So,” Jaemin’s voice cuts through your ever-racing thoughts, and your chest goes cold. “A little birdie told me there’s something you really, really like…”
If jumping off the balcony was a safe option, in that moment, you would’ve taken it. A confirmation of your worst fears - that Jaemin was aware of your ridiculous, schoolgirl like crush on him. You are speechless, sunken, pulse racing, and terrified.
Without the usual cue of area music, caught up in the last hour, you had missed your usual clues. A loud boom caused you to jump in your seat, out of your brain, head immediately turning towards Jaemin - only to make eye contact with him, bright lights reflecting off the surface, who smiles and motions for you to turn around. Of course.
If you were known for one thing amongst your cohorts, it was that you loved fireworks. Even on the most hectic of nights you found a way to make sure you were outside during the nightly display, never taking for granted that you were being paid to watch the sky light up in time to music. You had your favorite spots to watch from, but had never once considered the train station. From the corner of Frontierland, it felt like the fireworks were almost on top of you - cascading down upon Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the expanse of empty night sky providing the perfect canvas. As the speakers above you were silent, there was no accompanying soundtrack, but it didn’t matter - you knew the whole show by heart. You were unaware of how long your mouth had been hanging open in blissful, childlike wonder, only noticing when Jaemin gently pressed his finger up against your chin, closing the space between your upper and lower lip through simple momentum. Moments later, his hand brushed over yours, testing the waters, and finding no complaint, interlocked his fingers with yours, and gravity pulls your head to his shoulder. A soft, steady hum leaves his lips, as you settle into this newfound bliss.
The rest of the fireworks show plays out in front of the two of you - two white ghosts in a dark shadow, illuminated by glowing streaks and bursts of color from the night sky. You’re working at the most magical place on earth, sure, but this felt like the most magical moment of your life.
Before you know it, the sky calms again, signaling the end of the show. You remain frozen for a moment, not wanting to leave. When you finally stand back up, awkwardly untangling yourself from Jaemin’s frame in a rushed manner, you can almost feel yourself floating back down to the ground, back to reality. Jaemin, your co-worker, Jaemin the flirt. He brought you up here just to watch the fireworks after all. Had you been a bit more outgoing, a bit less awkward, maybe...
Taking a few steps towards the entryway, a sudden hand on your wrist pulls you against the wall - thankfully, out of sight of any guests, but now engulfing your entire body in shadow. And it’s here in the darkness that Jaemin’s hand releases itself from your wrist, finds its way up to your cheek. Here, he leans in and kisses you - pressing his chapped lips against yours gently, but with enough intent and purpose that you swear you were seeing stars after a few moments. It doesn’t last long, as all fairytales would tell you. When you part, Jaemin rests his forehead against yours, both slightly damp from the Florida humidity, and you can feel him smile against you, somehow breathless, letting out a low chuckle, before asking,
“Did you think I was talking about the fireworks?”

how bakugou would interact with animals: scenarios
characters: bakugou, gender neutral s/o
warnings: mention of bugs
okay so i saw this drawing of bakugou w/ a cat and i can’t stop thinking abt it so i wrote this
i have so many pets
hope everyone had a great day :))
bunnies: I think he’d be okay with bunnies, he’s probably used to them from koda’s being around the dorms (have y’all seen the pic of him chasing koda’s bunny-). he spent lots of time outdoors as a kid, he was bound to cross paths with one sometime in his life. He probably wouldn’t want to hold yours if you had one, but he wouldn’t mind it, maybe even stroking it on occasions.
you sat on the couch watching a show, your soft plush rabbit seated in your lap. katsuki sat to your left, switching his gaze back and forth between the tv and your lap, starring your favorite ball of fluff down. the bunny ruffled in your lap, shaking slightly from the look it had received from your partner. you looked down at the rabbit, soothing it by rubbing behind it’s ears and offering it another piece of lettuce. as it settled down, you saw bakugou reach his hand up, gently flattening the ears of the bunny with his large hand, a soft scowl on his face as he did so. you smiled, your heart swooning at the thought of such a big tough guy being soft for a silly little rabbit.
guinea pigs: Bakugou is scared of them omg. I’ve had quite a few guinea pigs (i only have 2 rn), and every grown man i’ve showed them to was lowkey scared. They do bite on occasion, if you tickle them or if they simply don’t want to be touched.
taking your tiny pet out of the cage, you set it down in it’s playpen to get some time to safely run. you stepped over the barrier, seating yourself on the floor with some treats in your hand. your guinea pig loved carrots, especially fed straight from your hand. bakugou walked in to your bedroom, cocking a brow at the sight of you sitting on the floor near the edge of the pen before he sat on the edge of your bed. you got out when you noticed him, scooping the small animal back into your arms. you sat next to him, noticing his intense stare at your guinea pig. you gently set the guinea pig on his lap without warning. the look of pure panic on his face was priceless, a grown man terrified of such a small creature. “scared, suki?” you teasingly asked, your partner looking up with a look mixed with anger and fright. the guinea pig nibbled at bakugou’s lap, you laughed slightly as you picked it back up to rid him of his fear. just as you were headed towards the cage, the fuzzy little thing peed on your arm. bakugou laughed incessantly as you stood there in anger and disbelief, telling you that karma sure is a bitch!
cats: he probably hates cats, they’re adorable but so so spiteful. he also hates that the cat gets most of your attention.
katsuki was lounged on the couch, watching you play with your cat on the floor near his feet. you’d had it since before you got together, and it was almost heart wrenching to hear he wasn’t fond of your furry friend. as you swung the feather ended stick back and fourth, the cat darted in the same direction. as you moved the feather closer towards bakugou, the cat lept and clung to his calf, digging and sinking it’s sharp claws into his skin. katsuki hissed angrily, mumbling something along the lines of “shitty cat” as the feline released its claws and resumed playing. god did he hate that cat, constantly jumping on him to get to you, nuzzling in between you both to separate your cuddle sessions. you often heard him fight with the cat, yelling at it to move while he was cooking, then yelling when it spitefully pushed something on the counter. telling it not to come in the bathroom while he showered, not to scratch at the couch. their relationship was comedical to you, but god did he wish you’d get rid of that shitty cat.
dogs: he loves dogs, especially big ones. he thinks they’re badass, “manly” as kiri would say. he loves the loyalty and strength dogs tend to have, finding it similar to himself. he wouldn’t mind a medium sized dog, but he wouldn’t like small dogs. there can only be one angry yapping pomeranian in the house, and he’s already filled that spot. (i’m not a big dog fan, don’t like the way they constantly lick you)
starting off so small and tiny, a pretty puppy with a bow collar in a box, the dog you had surprised your partner with for his birthday had grown as big as a beast. bakugou loved the dog, loved teaching it tricks and commands, even loved cooking it a spare piece of meat when he prepared dinner. this was hands down the best present he’d ever received, he’d put years and years of pride into making the clumsy lil’ pup into a well behaved companion. the dog often sat or layed with him on the couch, never straying far from katsuki’s side. as you stood up from your seat next to bakugou to get a drink from the kitchen, the dog stole your spot in an attempt to be closer to it’s favorite owner. you huffed as you sat down on the other end of the couch, katsuki chuckling at your reaction as he stroked the head of the pup laying in his lap.
turtles: i think he’d find them intriguing. not his favorite animal, but he doesn’t mind them.
you went to take the turtle out of the tank, ready to clean and scrub it. bakugou watched as you struggled to catch it, the damn thing swimming away every time you went for it. he walked over as you groaned in frustration, ready to help you catch it. he had seen wild turtles before, caught them in the river growing up with his friends (and that damn nerd deku). he knew you had to be patient, wait until they settle down before sneaking up on them. he took your hands out of the tank, giving the turtle a chance to calm down. he gently reached his large hands in, grabbing and catching the small thing in one go. you scowled at his success, him smirking back at you as a silent brag. he helped you clean the tank, you scrubbed the turtle’s shell to reduce the risk of shell rot. when you were finally done you thanked him, joking that if he hadn’t helped you would have had turtle soup for dinner.
lizards (this ones abt geckos): i think they also kinda interest him, there are some really pretty lizards and he likes the pattern of the one you have. he likes to watch them hunt their food, he thinks its badass.
katsuki watched you scoop the lizard up, softly placing it near your neck. they always love the spot, it’s so nice and warm that they often fall asleep. he watched it crawl around you, running up your neck before settling in it’s favorite spot. you began to clean it’s tank, ridding it of all the bugs that had not been eaten. he watched as you changed it’s water and the matt on the bottom of the tank, the lizard sitting nice and pretty the whole time. it was as if it knew it had pretty colors, wanting to display them for everyone to see. you set it back down in the tank, watching it crawl into the safety of it’s dark hiding hut. bakugou made his way over to you, startling you as he slipped his arms around your waist. he peered over your shoulder as you dropped in some food, closely paying attention to the way it lunged at the crickets, unapologetically devouring them. you both cheered the lizard on, somehow fit was fun to watch the small thing eat.

Red Sand/Shark AU
So this is an au where Sha Wujing is the one who retired and Red is his successor.
I had a lot of amazing help from my anons and others for this au and I just want to thank them for that! You all made the au 100% more awesome! So here’s the au (re-uploaded cause it wouldn’t appear on my dash):
Sha Wujing: Sha Wujing takes Wukong’s place as the teacher and retired hero of this au and is the mentor of Red Son, albeit a reluctant mentor. Sha Wujing, unlike his canon counterpart, has not calmed down and is still rage-filled due to isolating himself for centuries. He has isolated himself due to Tripitaka’s death at the hands of a demon which he believes he, Bajie and Wukong could have prevented even though the other two were nowhere near at the time. He has a strained relationship with them because of this belief. Due to the monk’s death, he started picking fights in the mortal realm with any demon and sometimes human he could. The other three tried to stop him at multiple points but he wouldn’t listen and they had no choice but to give up. Eventually he came to the conclusion that this isn’t what Tripitaka would want and decided to pick one last fight to seal the Spider Queen before retiring.
He has rarely spoken to anyone else in centuries, he is extremely closed off to people. and has a lot of rage pent up. He lives on a mountain around the city that has a small house on his mountain and it has a river. He has the basics, oven, microwave, fridge, he also has a tv. Although he doesn’t use the television as much and considers it good background noise while he’s cooking or training. He absolutely despises it when any trace of his past adventures come onto the screen due to the events that have happened. He has a bunch of training equipment around that he uses to at least better manage his rage. He also builds inventions similar to his counterpart and it is something he and Red have in common. He does love tea and cats in this au but doesn’t own any cats in the beginning. He keeps a shrine of Tripitaka in his home and talks to it at certain points, he also has Tripitaka’s old staff.
Fun fact, he didn’t even want a successor and the only reason Red became his successor is because Guanyin appeared to him a couple years before the au and told him that trouble was brewing. She knows he gave up fighting so she proposes that he find a successor and she knows the perfect candidate, Red. After watching him for a bit, he agreed with her and waited for something to happen but wasn't exactly happy at the thought of having to train someone since it meant having prolonged social interaction, especially someone that almost killed his brother even if he isn’t Wukong’s biggest fan by that point. He is rather grumpy while training Red and they clash at certain points but they do have a respect for each other. He is more blunt and honest here.
Red: Red Son is the successor of Sha Wujing and formerly the disciple of Guanyin who after noticing how far he had come decided to let him go to the city to meet new people. He arrives at the city 2-5 years before the events of the au start and keeps a human form. While they still have somewhat of a temper, it is nowhere as bad as canon. They were initially confused by the city as due to being under Guanyin’s teaching, they weren’t as exposed to technology. It wasn’t until they met Mei who showed them the ropes that they finally got the hang of things. They build inventions like their counterpart but aren’t as skilled as canon Red since they’ve only been doing this for five years tops.
Mei actually gave her a place in the beginning since they didn’t have anywhere to go since they were still new. Red refused at first but gradually gave into Mei’s persistence. They were roommates for a while while the demon figured out where they could work. They noticed Mei’s struggle with her parents and encouraged her to be open about it, resulting in her becoming happier as a person and embracing her dragon heritage. Mei introduced them to Tang and got taken in by the human. Tang gave Red a place at his shop, although he works more at the cover business since he wants some sense of normalcy but he does do things like stock supplies for the magic side sometimes.
He hasn’t told anyone who his parents are nor has he found them again and prefers to keep a low profile. He also keeps the fact that he’s a demon a secret along with his fire powers. The fire powers only show up when he’s overcome with rage but since they aren’t as rage filled as their canon counterpart, that is rare. He isn’t exactly thrilled to be someone’s successor since it meant giving up his normal life but does it to further atone for his actions.
Mei/Long Xiaojiao: Xiaojiao remains here as the descendant of the Dragon of the West and is Red’s best friend. She found Red Son wandering the city one day and allowed him to stay with them until they found a place to work so Red has actually been inside her house before. Throughout his stay, she accidentally vented about her troubles with her parents which Red helped her with and because of that, she is less insecure about her place as descendant of the Dragon of the West. From that point forth, she was more open about her problems. She also obtained the dragon blade relatively early thanks to Red and her parents’ urging.
She, like Red, works for Tang but at his magic business and spends time being Tang’s assistant. Her job is to sometimes collect ingredients and deliver if the client asks. She is more reckless here due to having the dragon blade for years and because of the amount of demons she faced. She is slightly more protective here because of Red since she thinks he doesn’t know how to expertly fight as he hasn’t revealed who he is to her yet.
MK/Qi Xiaotian: Xiaotian is the biological son of Syntax and the only human of the Spider group. After the incident when he was around 12 that resulted in his dad becoming a spider, his life was completely changed and they were taken in by Huntsman and Goliath. Learning of their plan to free the Spider Queen, Syntax offered to help, knowing from Goliath that she would protect his son. They raised him where he turned into a mix of all of them. Since he is Syntax’s son, his father made sure he got the best education and taught him many things because of this, he knows a lot about tech and sometimes uses technology based insults like his dad, the other insults he uses are the more crass ones because of Huntsman. While he knows a lot about tech, he’s bad at practical applications and ends up setting things on fire.
They know how to hunt because of Huntsman and spar with him regularly in an effort to get strong to protect their family. Since they’re the only human, they feel the need to prove themself to the Spider Queen who doesn’t really give them a thought in the beginning as she’s more concerned with returning the spider demons to their former glory. The issue of him as the only human has caused somewhat of a disconnect between him and his father.
He is rather cocky and reckless here because of Huntsman and Syntax who both have massive egos, something that was passed down to him. Although deep down he is a sweetheart thanks to Goliath. He uses the tech insults to insult his rival, Red Son and makes fun of him on a daily basis which is great because Red only slightly knows what those mean. He is still an artist here and was encouraged by his father to pursue his passion, he is also still a slight Monkey King fan because of stories he heard when he was little. While he makes fun of Huntsman for wanting to date his dad, he does want to be able to call him his stepdad one day. He has a staff given to him by his dad when he was around 15 that contains some cool things.
Sun Wukong: takes Tang’s place kinda. Actor and scholar. Sun Wukong in this au is the owner of a theatre that for the most part does JTTW plays, he is also an actor and scholar. He spent about 300-400 years in retirement before finally deciding to enter the world again and do something. He has a rivalry with Macaque since both are scholars and always have academic arguments. He remains king of Flower Fruit Mountain but mainly lives in the city now. He maintains a human form to not attract attention from demons.
Before owning the theatre, he was a big name actor (well still is) that did mostly Monkey King related stuff to honor his past adventures and family. He even directed, starred and wrote stuff for his own movies and tv shows, something he does for the theatre now. He also produced some video games. He used to bring his monkeys on the set sometimes and does that now for his theatre, people have no idea where the monkeys come from. Some joke that he’s gotten really into his role and there are those that call him the “Monkey Actor.”
He carries a good amount of guilt over Tripitaka’s death especially after what Wujing said to him and believes he doesn’t really deserve to be called a hero. He also feels bad that he couldn’t help Wujing and that the incident resulted in the demon closing off. He hides all of this under a confident attitude. He hardly uses his staff anymore but still has it. He’s had off/on contact with Zhu Bajie over the years and misses him and the rest of his family deeply. When they meet up around the time the series starts, the pig informs him that he’s found Wujing but they don’t go talk to him since they know the other doesn’t want them around. Instead, the two hang out again with Wukong absolutely dreading the idea that they’ll lose contact again. Bajie actually introduces him to the kids he sometimes babysits and they eventually begin calling Wukong “yéyé.” He met Tang when he heard a rumor about his magic business and decided to check it out, he stuck around even after finding out the human was harmless because he met Red again, he hasn’t told Red or Tang who he is.
Tang: Tang is surprise, surprise, Tripitaka’s reincarnation. He does get dreams sometimes but he writes them off as fantasies. Compared to his counterpart, he is a lot tougher than his normal counterpart and actually fights. He runs two shops with one that is a secret magic shop (mostly temporary enhancements and minor spells), he’s proficient in both hand to hand combat and magic.
He is slightly more serious in this due to running a business now but not as serious as Pigsy would be. His nerdiness is toned down here but still present. In fact when Red is working, Tang likes to bring up different stories from the past despite the fact that Red knows them already. He gave Red the apartment above the shop and has no idea that the kid he adopted is actually a demon. He is rather annoyed and angry at the fact that Red was chosen by Sha Wujing to be his successor even though he is partially a fan of the demon and totally doesn’t have a celebrity crush on him. While he isn’t aware of everything Red has gone through, he is aware that the kid has had a rough life and wants to protect him.
Zhu Bajie/Pigsy: Zhu Bajie, after years of loneliness, came out of hiding and wandered the mortal world as he needed something to occupy his time. He’s had off/on contact with Wukong throughout the years. Eventually he settled into the city where he’s known as a beloved and involved member of a small part of it. He is seen as an ‘uncle/grandpa figure’ there and is sometimes asked to watch over the kids. The kids absolutely adore him and he in turn adores them. He takes them out a lot to places and spoils the heck out of them. He actually met Wukong again when he took the kids out to see the plays at Wukong’s theatre and enjoys taking them there because he gets to see the king, he’s become a huge fan. He memorized the surrounding mountain range there and partially chose the city as there is a path that leads to Wujing, he hasn’t told Wujing he’s tracked him down. He’s just kept tabs on him, mildly happy with that since he knows his brother doesn’t want to see him.
While he retains his snarkiness here, his temper isn’t as bad here due to not being business focused since he doesn’t own one. He retains his parental instincts here since he’s a grandpa now. He has grown a lot since the JTTW days and is proud of this fact. He is on the more reasonable side of things between Wujing who is unnecessarily angry and Wukong who believes he doesn’t have the right to be considered a hero.
Macaque: Macaque in this au is retired from fighting and does not have much of a grudge against Wukong as he does in canon. Although they do have a rivalry as fellow scholars and constantly complain about each other’s theses suck. They are usually one debate away from fighting each other in the parking lot of Wukong’s theatre.
Demon Bull King: Demon Bull King takes Macaque’s spot as the one who trains and plans to take Red’s powers. After their son became Guanyin’s disciple, the two were extremely worried about their child and held resentment for Sun Wukong and his gang that continued long after the gang defeated him. Princess Iron Fan and him had a falling out that resulted in them parting ways (although still married) but they still love each other very much. DBK heard rumors floating around about someone that had become Sha Wujing’s successor and that someone matched his son’s description. Angered over the fact that his son was forced to become someone’s successor, he found a spell that would take his powers. He crafted a plan to lure his son out to do so so his son could be relieved of that pressure along with protecting him and so he could use that power to take revenge on those around them.
Princess Iron Fan: Princess Iron Fan is the main villain of the Red Sand/Shark au. Due to the loss of her son and the fall out with her husband, Princess Iron Fan has become rather desperate to get her family back and she’ll do it by any means necessary. She has kept herself hidden for years, plotting ways to bring her family together. Once she found out that Red Son became Sha Wujing’s successor, it caused her to lash out as her son was within reach but forced to be what she considered a weapon, a pawn. She took advantage of the blood oath she made, promising the twins that if they joined her, she would make people cower before them. She used them to attack on New Years in the hopes of grabbing her son and taking over the world. While that might have failed, she has other tricks up her sleeve and will make Red join her, no matter what.
Spider Queen: Spider Queen once led a powerful army that threatened to disrupt the mortal realm. She was feared by mortals and respected and loved by her subjects. This ended when she faced Sha Wujing and was actually the last demon Sha Wujing fought before he retired. He decided to seal her, citing her as a danger. Due to her containment, the various spider clans started declining as their royal line had been deposed of. Things have become desperate and it is believed that the Spider Boys are part of the last generation before they are wiped out entirely, although there may be more out there. They have decided to free the Spider Queen as her era was the last time the spiders were prosperous and believe she is the key to saving their future.
Goliath (Strong Spider): Goliath remains a total sweetheart in this au and is one of the reasons Xiaotian contains sweet qualities. He is completely supportive and encouraging of Syntax and Huntsman’s feelings for each other and wishes they would just admit it. He bakes in his spare time and gets help from Xiaotian. He is also the other’s confidant and manages to keep secrets relatively well. He does suggest that they speak about these issues but doesn’t push them.
Huntsman: Huntsman is the same here but has a more fatherly side to him as he’s helped Syntax raise MK and has actually developed feelings for the nerd spider. He taught Xiaotian to be an excellent hunter and spars with him on a regular basis. He cheers the kid on during fights unless he has to do something like go save him for a reckless endeavor. He doesn’t admit how much the kid and the others mean to him often but will slip up and admit it. He and Syntax have snarky banter with each other and have a trusting relationship that neither acknowledges.
Syntax: Syntax is the biological and single father of Xiaotian. He was a relatively hardworking and great father that taught Xiaotian to make different things, gave him the best education he could and encouraged him in art endeavors. He was turned into a spider by a horrific lab accident when his son was around twelve. Resentment, horror and terror piled up in him because of that incident. He had absolutely no idea what to do, he was a human turned spider all because of what happened, there is a possibility that no one was going to treat him the same after this, people would assume he had malicious intent and might try to separate him from his son. After that, he spent a good portion trying to return himself back to normal but no matter what he did he could not. Afraid for the safety of him and his son, Syntax began to research the spiders, learning they were almost gone but there may be some out there. He took Xiaotian with him where they bumped into Huntsman and Goliath who were trying to find ways to bring the Spider Queen back. He joined them as Goliath had assured the queen would offer them protection. Along the way, he had come to see them less as allies and more as family, not that he would admit it. He began falling in love with Huntsman after getting to know him for years and seeing deeper sides of him. When Xiaotian was around 15, he crafted a sci fi tech staff for his son which contains some tricks and traps, including a GPS that can be used for when his son is in trouble.
Yin and Jin: Yin and Jin take Spider Queen’s place here. They trapped Red in the calabash just like they did with canon MK and after that incident, they continued popping up with a variety of plans, most that have failed. Red eventually stopped taking them seriously and treated them more as nuisances than real threats. In an effort to be taken more seriously they created a partnership between them and PIF. They shook with excitement at New Years when they began to topple people around them, this died down when the plan didn’t work but they continued to listen to PIF’s instructions, little do they know she’s just using them to get her son back.
White Bone Spirit and Mayor: These two are nowhere near as dangerous as they are in canon and actually replace Yin and Jin as the comic relief although the Mayor is still slightly creepy. WBS probably has a much older host or has shapeshifted to give herself a human form. She tries to get revenge for her defeat at the hands of Sun Wukong and since Red is the closest thing she messes with him instead. She believes she is a powerful antagonist but is more of the average shape-shifting demon and the Mayor serves as her minion. They come up with schemes similar to Yin and Jin but unlike Yin and Jin don’t ever come up with a way to be taken more seriously.

for the ask think you just reblogged - i have to ask murven
01. when i started shipping it if i did.
i can’t remember when i went from thinking “oh… this is a cute ship” to really shipping them. i have always liked them but in between seasons six and seven i started to love them (which is funny since they didn’t exactly have a lot going on in canon in season six). i think it was just a combination of all the amazing fan content for them, and disinterest in other ships on the show that i had enjoyed too. i honestly pretty much singularly ship them at this point (but, i do enjoy fan content for other ships).
02. my thoughts.
my “otp” or whatever lmao. i just think they made so much sense and would be sooo good together. it’s enemies to friends to lovers done RIGHT. they are such similar people, at their core but are also different enough to challenge each other when it comes down to it. i feel like they push each other to be better and different people, they had such a respect for one another and it was clear there was love there. i think they are the best for each other.
03. what makes me happy about them.
literally just them existing (or not existing as is the case with fictional characters). watching clips of them interacting in canon, reading fanfiction or seeing fanart just makes me happy — and is that not all you want out of a ship? i just am happy to live in my own bubble and pretend they’re canon. i don’t even know what else to say… it’s just them.
04. what makes me sad about them.
in canon? uh just that they were often shoved into different storylines and they didn’t get to interact a ton. also that we didn’t get to see any of the ring flashbacks and see them develop further (even if i am happy with their development). then, i am also sad about them in fandom. i’m not sure why, but for some reason the remaining fandom (or at least on twitter) has decided that it’s a bad relationship and will often be rude about it just because they seem more “platonic”. don’t even get me started on the people who try to say how “toxic” it is, as if all the other ships on this show are sooo healthy.
05. things done in fanfic that annoys me.
i can’t say that anything in murven specific fanfic annoys me enough to point it out, however there is a more general tagging issue that irritates me. this is something that doesn’t just affect murven, but since i read them the most it’s become a little pet peeve for me regarding them. two ways it can go wrong: 1) you tag them as a main pairing when it should be indicated they are a background ship. 2) you don’t tag them at all— so i would either not even read the fic and miss out (OR) i could read a fic that seems interesting and boom… my notp(s).
06. things i look for in fanfic.
anythinggg… for it to exist. for people to continue writing for them (this is a self call out also). really just fanfic. there is not enough fanfic of them to afford me to be picky about it; espcially not main pairing murven fanfic. ALL murven fic is good fic.
07. who i would be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other.
this is a hard one because, like i said, i don’t really multi-ship as much anymore… although i always thought that luna would have been so good with raven. shaw was also decent, even if i didn’t really find them to be very interesting in canon… (it was too fast for me) he was still a decent match. when it comes to murphy it’s even tougher. i often feel like he was the writer’s punching bag so it’s hard to think of who he could end up with who i think treated him well (consistently). maybe bellamy, if we reworked things a bit? i guess we’d have to for raven anyways… since… they’re dead… poor raven she needed a s.o. who wouldn’t ever die… cough… a cockroach person maybe…
08. my happily ever after for them.
i am already pretty happy that the show ended in a way that i can think of a happily ever after— but basically just them getting together post canon. [redacted] breaks up, probably in a similar way to when they were on the ring because that wasn’t resolved at all. raven and murphy would become a couple naturally and comfortably— like they just fit together. they’d spend their days making each other happy, cuddling with picasso, and exploring the universe with the anomaly stones. luckily, as i said, it’s so open ended that this is just canon in my brain. you cannot tell me otherwise, sorry. <3
09. who is the big spoon/little spoon.
i think they’d alternate— but murphy would most often be the big spoon and raven the little spoon. raven i feel likes to act strong all the time, so her being the little spoon is her time to just be taken care of and vulnerable, and murphy always makes sure that it’s comfortable with her leg. if murphy is having a bad day then raven will let him be the little spoon and whisper sweet nothings in his ear.
10. what is their favorite non-sexual activity.
is it cheesy to say playing soccer? that is one that can be canon or modern au. otherwise, in canon i can see them liking to swim in the lakes and rivers and wherever else they can find. in a modern au, i think they’d really be into playing games. board or video… i can see them being into cooking as well.

M’Baku’s Love-Chapter 1
Hey y’all, sooooo this is inspired by Sylvie’s Love. It was such a sweet movie that made me feel all the feels, so I felt the need to write a love story for our Thicc Kang. Seriously, go watch it on Prime if you can. Let me know what y’all think, and check out my masterlist if you haven’t already! I have a few one shots and a series for both our king and our prince.
This one’s on the shorter side, but enjoy!
Word count: 2992
When M’Baku integrated the Jabari into the rest of Wakandan society he had some concerns about there being some cultural friction. Having been separated for centuries, M’Baku assumed his people would have a hard time with adjusting to the new union, but as it turned out he didn't have to worry. Above all, he was worried about lowland Wakandans possibly subjecting his people to their prejudices, but it turned out that they have a pretty similar society to the Jabari and they meld really well. The different tribes of Wakanda all live in their separate provinces and have their own ways of living just like the Jabari, the only difference being that they interacted with the larger community that included the rest of Wakanda as well.
The chief’s misconceptions and prejudices about the other Wakandans were soon wiped out and replaced with a love of his country. The whole of it, as opposed to just his domain. He even began to enjoy his trips to the city, still finding the advancements unnecessary but amazing nonetheless. Over time, he grew curious of the outside world after befriending Prince N’Jadaka. The prince would regale him with horror stories of life on the outside, some were personal others were from around the diaspora.
However, M’Baku still couldn't understand the outside world, so King T’Challa decided it would be best if he get to experience it for a while. At first, he was against it. Why would he want to experience such a horrible place? After much effort, T’Challa was able to convince him to spend three months in Oakland at the Outreach Center. At first, M’Baku thought the time span was excessive. He was Chief of the Jabari and had important duties to attend to, after all, he couldn’t just go galavanting halfway across the world just because he couldn’t grasp the concept of white supremacy.
M’Baku made his way through the hallways of the royal palace and when he arrived at the large ornate door to the king’s office, the guards saluted him before parting and letting him pass. He raised his fist to knock when T’Challa spoke up from inside.
“Enter.”
M’Baku cautiously opened the door and looked at the king with confusion written all over his chiseled face.
“How did you-”
“The heart shaped herb gives me enhanced hearing among many other things. Come, sit down. How has the tour been so far?”
In addition to his time in the outside world, M’Baku had chosen to learn more about the tribes of Wakanda. He had spent one weekend a month with a different tribe to understand their way of life. He only just started but so far the river tribe was in the running for second favorite.
“It is going well, umhlobo wam. You all are not too different from Jabari, aside from the frivolous gadgets.”
T’Challa smiled at his stubborn friend’s unwillingness to accept their technology. Getting him to wear Kimoyo beads was harder than bathing a cat, but he eventually came around but only for communication purposes. Some Jabari, especially the younger ones took right to it, but most were still living their traditional lives.
“I noticed the same thing when I stayed with you...the second time, clearly.”
The two chuckled at the now fond memory of the king almost dying at the hands of his newly beloved cousin.
“Clearly. So have you decided on a departure date yet?”
“Yes, I will be leaving with you and staying for about a week to check on the centers myself and help you acclimate. Obviously N’Jadaka will be there as well but I figured you’d want someone with you that’s a little more…”
“Level headed?”
“N-, well, yes, but also no. He is doing well at the Center, but he is still...himself.”
The prince was a wildcard. One you want to have in your hand, but a wildcard nonetheless. M'Baku needed someone with a slightly longer fuse and a calmer disposition to show him around.
“Well I would not have it any other way, he is quite entertaining at times.”
A grin creeped up the king’s face as he thought of how his cousin’s progress had allowed for the parts of personality that aren’t rooted in anger to shine through.
“I agree. So, since I’ll be accompanying you we have to leave tomorrow.”
“I will alert my council.”
——————
The heat in California was marginally better than Wakanda, but still too high for M’Baku’s liking. He would have preferred to visit in the middle of their winter when the temperatures were milder, but anything over 60 degrees felt like a sauna to him. He also wasn’t used to having so much unprotected skin showing, but the weather called for his arms and legs to be free from fabric. His size and physique made him hyper visible and he noticed several of the volunteers doing double-takes as he and T’Challa walked through the halls of the Wakandan Outreach Center. He knew some of the attention was because the king didn’t visit often, but when he would catch eyes lingering on him he’d smirk and keep on moving.
T’Challa took him on a tour of the Center that ended with N’Jobu’s memorial in room 1401, which was preserved like a museum exhibit. The room stood as a reminder of Wakanda’s dark past, and a promise to never repeat it. M’Baku walked around the memorial, silently paying his respects to the murdered Wakandan prince and taking in the scene. The small plaques around the room gave visitors information about Prince N’Jobu, his family, his mission, and his death.
“Why did you go with these instead of virtual pages? Or whatever they are called...” M’Baku asked.
“Holograms. I felt it would take away from the feeling of heaviness this room invokes on you when you enter. This memorial needs to be both seen and felt for it to be effective.”
M’Baku nodded slowly, eyes still roaming around the room.
“Come, my friend,” T’Challa clapped him on the shoulder. “You will have plenty of time to come back here if you wish. For now, let me show you to your office.”
“Office?” The two walked down yet another hallway and headed up to the top floor.
“Yes, you didn’t think this was a vacation did you?” The king chuckled.
“Well, no but I assumed it would be more study than work.”
“It is both. You will be our Jabari Ambassador while you are here. I would like for you to come up with a skillshare program that will allow for the kids here in Oakland to learn your ways. One of the purposes of our Outreach Center is to bring about cultural understanding between us and our diaspora siblings, who we are now referring to as the Lost Tribe at the prince’s request. For now, we just have Oakland but eventually I plan to expand the program. Shuri is over the STEM program, Nakia handles social outreach, and N’Jadaka keeps the whole thing running smoothly, and you will make sure the Jabari are represented in our curriculum.”
“It would be my honor to bring Jabari ways to the Lost children.”
“I’m glad, now here is your office,” T’Challa pointed to a corner office with floor-to-ceiling windows and a view of the bay. “It is not a throne room, but it is quite nice.”
The king then took the time to show him the basic technology he would need to use and some of the more advanced technology at his disposal he knew he would probably never touch.
“You will have plenty of time to settle in tomorrow, for now I will show you your apartment,” T’Challa led the way back through the center and out to the car which took them about 10 minutes away to an apartment building.
“Our buildings are much more impressive,” M’Baku remarked.. It warmed T’Challa’s heart to hear his friend refer to Wakanda proudly instead of just his own corner of the country, and he let out a chuckle. Things really can change…
“I completely agree, my friend.”
The apartment turned out to be a loft that was the perfect size for the large Jabari Chief. The high ceilings, the open space, the floor to ceiling windows, the exposed brick...M’Baku actually liked it.
“Worthy of a chief?” T’Challa asked.
“That it is,” M’Baku said, walking around and taking in the space. The restaurant style kitchen was fully stocked with all his vegetarian favorites and some soon to be new favorites as well. He picked up a square package and stared at it in confusion, never having seen the meat-substitute before. “What is this to-fu?”
“It’s a very popular protein source made from soybeans.”
M’Baku nodded then moved to the living space, surprised to see a television, but the king explained he would need to stay up on current events, or maybe even watch a movie every now and then.
When T’Challa showed him the thermostat, he was so ecstatic he immediately put it on the lowest setting.
“I should leave before you freeze me out. If you need anything I’m just a kimoyo bead aw-,” T’Challa cut himself off when another, more important thought occurred to him. “Oh, I forgot to mention you’ll be getting an assistant. I sent three files to your beads, take a look and hire whichever one fits you best”
“Thank you, brother.” The two shook hands and saluted each other before the king left to give M’Baku his space.
The chief admired the Jabari wood furniture and the furs on the couch, plopping down to try to figure out how to work the television. After some time, he found a news station and only lasted about 5 minutes before he needed to turn it off. Instead, he accidentally switched to a thing called HBO Max and clicked on a show where the main character looked familiar somehow.
“In West Philadelphia, born and raised,” the theme song played over and over and over as M’Baku binged his first tv show, laughing the whole way.
A few hours passed and he was brought back from tv land by a rumble in his stomach. Not in the mood to cook, he decided to explore the neighborhood and look for food instead.
After just a few minutes M’Baku came to a stop in front of a place called Cafe V. He stopped to take a look at the menu in the window when he felt a small, or regular sized, person bump into his side. His eyes travelled down to see who would dare shove Lord M’Baku, Chief of the Jabari, when his eyes landed on a caramel-complected goddess with a bright teal fade. His face immediately softened as she stammered through an apology.
“I-I am so s-sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. I got a text and, it doesn’t matter, are you ok?”
He struggled to find the words.
“Yes, are you? That was quite the impact.”
She was surprised by his kindness and gave him a smile.
“It was, wasn’t it?” The two shared a quick laugh. “I’m sorry, I’m running late to meet a friend...literally.”
“Well I would not want to keep you, but please be mindful of your surroundings. I am sure everyone is not as nice as I am.”
“That’s for sure. Oh, and by the way,” she leaned in as if to tell him a secret. He leaned in to listen to whatever she had to tell him. “There’s a Black-owned vegan restaurant around the corner there.”
M’Baku’s eyes lit up, “Two things I love.”
“Black people and vegan food?”
“Precisely,” a grin overtook his face and she couldn’t help but stare at his adorable gap.
“Well I really have to go, nice meeting you stranger!”
And with that, she was off before he could even get her name. The best he could do is hope she’d crash into him on the sidewalk again one day.
“I really hope she is more careful,” he said to himself as he rounded the corner to The V Spot.
——————
Monday morning, M’Baku arrived at the outreach center full of nervous energy. He had wanted to look nice for his first day, but his tunic felt like it was cutting off his circulation the closer he got to the building. When he finally arrived in his office, he found it full of royals.
“Nigga you look uncomfortable as hell in that,” N’Jadaka was, naturally, the first to call out the obvious. Thankfully, the Queen came to his rescue.
“Stop it Daka, you’d look uncomfortable in Jabari attire,” Nakia said as she undid his top button. “There. Better?”
“Much. I did not want to ruin the look.”
“Turning blue ruins the look, genius,” Princess Shuri chimed in.
“Sister, he wasn’t blue...yet. If we hadn’t gotten here when we did the Jabari would’ve been out a Chief,” the king added.
“Ha. You all are very funny. Are you done?”
“We’re just fucking with you, man. How you liking the loft?”
“It is wonderful. I am almost embarrassed to say I have watched the television for several hours. Have you ever seen the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? It is hilarious!”
“Aw hell yeah, that’s like thee funniest show hands down. You know what? While you’re here, I’m introducing you to alllllll the Black entertainment. You’re gonna love it, niggas stay laughing at something.”
“Speaking of, I thought… that word-“
“You can say nigga. You’re a nigga too, my nigga.”
T’Challa leaned over to M’Baku, “It is an adjustment, but the reclaiming of slurs can be a powerful thing for oppressed peoples. And it’s just so versatile.”
“What an interesting language…”
“Are we teaching an English class or are we meeting about curriculum…?” Shuri asked impatiently before her brother pinched her arm.
“Ouch! I’m telling mother.”
“Go ahead, I’ll tell her you’ve been sneaking out at night to hang with your little friends.”
Shuri shot her cousin a deadly glare, making him put his hands up in surrender.
“I didn’t say shit. He’s a walking lie-detector, I don’t know what to tell you.”
Nakia and M’Baku snickered at the situation they had no part in. Nakia, because she knew her husband had known for quite some time and would never snitch on his baby sister, but always had Dora following her at a safe distance. M’Baku enjoyed the moment because he and the Princess had a love-hate relationship and seeing her in “trouble” tickled him.
The moment passed and the five of them moved to a conference room to discuss the upcoming summer. Shuri advocated for a nanobots workshop on weekends and Nakia laid out her plans for summer programs. The king and prince listened closely and N’Jadaka gave his input here and there. T’Challa mostly nodded along, as this was more so his cousin’s job than his. He just signs the checks.
“...and Monaé just hired three new dance instructors because our classes are so popular with the community. She’ll discuss it in the Department Head meeting later-“
“Is that not what this is?” M’Baku asked, genuinely confused.
“If anything this is more of an executive meeting. We each oversee our departments, but have help running them. That’s who we will meet with in about 15 minutes.” Nakia responded, checking her beads for the time.
The executives finished their meeting just as other people started to roll in. Kitchen staff brought up some breakfast for everyone, and as soon as M’Baku stood to grab a bagel his knees nearly buckled. There she was, Miss In A Hurry herself. He tried to play it cool and keep his smile under wraps, but when she caught sight of the blinding whiteness from the other side of the room she recognized him immediately and waved.
“Friend of yours…?” T’Challa asked quietly with a raised brow. The man had only been here 24 hours…
“She ran into me on the street the other day and recommended an amazing restaurant. I should go say thank you…”
“Yes you should...why aren’t you?”
“I-“
“Mhm,” T’Challa said before turning to the rest of the attendees. “Everyone, please welcome Lord M’Baku, Chief of the Jabari. He will be here the next three months integrating Jabari culture into our curriculum. As many of you know, the Jabari-“
M’Baku tuned T’Challa out, staring instead at the girl with the teal fade. The look on her face when the king introduced him made him want to go hold her. It was painstakingly obvious that she was embarrassed to have almost run over royalty.
“-until we started the integration process a year ago. Now, Lord M’Baku you may have the floor.”
M’Baku cleared his throat and shook himself from his daydream.
“Uh, hello. I am sure it will be a pleasure to work here with you all. I would like to meet with each department head at some point this week to discuss how to make your programs more inclusive of Jabari customs. We can start scheduling those after we are finished here.”
The meeting went on for about an hour with M’Baku and the department heads furiously taking notes. M’Baku was pleasantly surprised that he wasn’t the only one using a physical notepad and pen. He looked to the stranger from earlier and noticed her bright notebook with a multicolored neon leopard cub in the middle. The name on the side read “Lisa Frank”, but he wasn’t sure if that was her name or the artist. She used several different colored pens to take her notes, and the red cat eye glasses he didn’t see on her face the other day kept slipping down her nose. She was a colorful one, that was for sure.
By the time the meeting ended he still hadn’t caught her name, but he knew she was head of the Arts department and that he would meet with her the next day. He could wait until then.

ONE SHOT: Tokyo Ghoul Quirk
Summary: You have a quirk that is similar to the Kagune in the anime, Tokyo Ghoul. This is how Todoroki, Kirishima, and Kaminari would react once you were to show them what you are really made of.
Word count: 2.6k total
Content: uhh fluff i guess lol. minor swearing
this was a lot of fun. i hope you enjoy :)
TODOROKI
Imagine your quirk to be like Hinami Fueguchi’s Kagune
When Todoroki found out about your quirk, it wasn’t exactly the reaction you were going for nor the one that you expected. To be honest, you had no idea how he would react. He was a man of very little reaction, giving you a sliver of insight to how he would react to your quirk. None of which you were correct about.
The day was clear, sunny, villains lose in the street like any other day. This took place before you had started dating, being the first time he ever really took notice. It happened when your agencies intertwined, working together to take down a villain who was much too big to deal with on your own. For the most part, you relied on the physical strength from your quirk rather than the actual Kagune that would sprout out of your lower back. You tried your best to rely more on physical strength, due to the side effects and the physical effect it had on your body. It was draining on your body and the only way to make it stronger was to intake blood from a living human, which was hard for you to do living in the life of the normal world. Yeah, blood banks are a thing and open to heroes with hero licenses but the look you would get buying blood from a bank. Not to mention, you did pretty well for relying only on the physical strength of your quirk.
The villain stood about 15 feet tall, hovering over even the biggest member of the heroes. It felt like you had been relentlessly trying to take this guy down but he had yet to successfully would the giant villain.
You were given no choice when Todoroki was taken hostage, bound by the villain in sight. You reacted emotionally rather than trying to strategize. Your Kagune was quick to grow from your lower back, your right eye reacting to your growth, becoming a deep black color intertwined with blood red stressed veins. “Let him go, you bastard.” It was a risk bringing out your Kagune, the darkness held within your quirk’s core pulsating as your emotions were heightened at the situation.
“What is some slimy little octopus going to do to me?” he laughed, his grip tightening around Todoroki. You could see Todoroki wince in pain causing your Kagune core to throb with hatred. It’s not like you were dating him or anything but it was definitely one hell of a crush.
You were quick to use your speed to your advantage, using the city lights as a crutch for you to swing off of. Your Kagune sprung out sharp, red arrows, being followed by the scale itself for a greater impact. Each arrow struck the arm of the villain, the final blow of your long scale Kagune to his shoulder, forcing him to release his grip on Todoroki. You used your right Kagune scale to take hold of Todoroki’s shirt, gently placing him down behind you.
“You damn hero,” the villain spat, bleeding from his mouth as he tried to lift himself. He was unsuccessful, more arrows flying from your possession, pinning him to the road beneath him. He was unconscious as you approached, your Kagune retracting back within your body. It had taken quite a toll on your physical structure, causing you to collapse to your knees.
“Y/N, are you okay?” His touch was so sensitive as he crouched down to examine your injuries. You looked up to see Todoroki, eye level with you, almost too close for two people who work together. You could feel your face heat up, your cheeks rosy with embarrassment. Neither of you pulled away, his intent focused on you.
“I’ll be okay. I just need to rest. How are you? Are you hurt?” He smiled, being so close to your face you couldn’t help but feel yourself blushing more. His smile was intoxicating, so inviting and warm.
“I’m okay thanks to you.” He was quick to scoop you into his arms, holding you close to his chest. Everything was happening so fast you didn’t have time to react. To be honest, you didn’t want to. You liked being this close to him. “If you’re not busy tomorrow, maybe I can take you out to dinner? A thank you for saving me?”
You were disappointed in the ‘saving me’ reason, knowing that this date would probably be a friend or co worker thing but you smiled and agreed anyways, trying to shift your body in a way that wouldn’t let him know you were bummed.
“By the way, you have a really powerful quirk,” he stated, sitting down next to you in the back of the on sight ambulance made for heroes. He took your hand in his, making sure that you were looking at him and only him. He pressed his lips to the back of your hand, your face flaring up due to how flustered he was making you feel. “You’re quite amazing Y/n. I’ll be looking forward to our date.”
He was truly amazed by your power, always asking questions, examining the Kagune when you two were alone. He was mesmerized more than anything, thinking that both you and your quirk were insanely beautiful. He would recommend working together, being a hero couple under the same agency. He loved seeing you in action, how you became more comfortable using your Kagune in battle. It was thanks to him really, you couldn’t really take the credit for that one. Your entire life, your Kagune was called ‘ugly’ ‘evil’ ‘villainess’. To have one person accept you, to call you beautiful and admire it made a difference within you and your confidence. That one person was Todoroki.
KIRISHIMA
Imagine your quirk to be like Ken Kaneki’s Kagune.
Kirishima knew about you and your quirk even before you had known who he was. When you were younger, Kirishima took notice of you when you had defended one of the other kids from a playground bully. You had sprouted your Kagune instantly, defending the small child who had been pushed around. Kirishima was amazed, in complete awe at how powerful your quirk was.
You had never been embarrassed of your quirk and using it frequently when you were younger made it so you were comfortable within your own skin and with your own power. As you grew up, your Kagune became more powerful, growing with you and your physical strength, as well as Kirishima’s admiration for you. He was a silent admirer, keeping his awe at a distance. You had no idea who he was until you went to UA together.
That’s when he introduced himself to you, first day of class. You didn’t know he had always known who you were, as far as you were concerned, this was the first interaction you had with him. You became quite close with him, considering him to be your best friend at UA. He was the one to defend you, stick up for you when someone would say something negative about your quirk. It’s not that you couldn’t do it yourself, Kirishima was always the first one to react before you could.
Over the years, your relationship grew. You had grown to like Kirishima’s humor more than anything. He had become a really good friend to you, but you knew your feelings were deeper than that. You feared rejection over all else, meaning you never had the courage to walk up to him and ask him out. You also were afraid that if you did that, it would ruin your friendship with him. You really had no idea he felt the same way until after you became Pro Heroes together.
He ended up applying at the same agency as you, meaning the two of you were to work together. You didn’t mind, you worked really well with him. He was your biggest supporter, always cheering you on when you brought out your Kagune. He was your number one fan and also your closest friend which made it all the more special to you.
“Hey Y/n?” Kirishima asked, walking alongside you after a long day of work. He had asked to walk you home that night, following alongside you on the dimly lit sidewalk. “Do you mind if we make a stop?”
“This late at night?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. “And for what?”
“Don’t give me that!” he jokingly raised his voice. “The moon is pretty and I want to show you something.” His cheeks became a rosey shade of pink. He scratched the back of his head, avoiding eye contact until the very last moment, his eyes painted over with a thin layer of gloss that caused a small twinkle to form. So you agreed, following him towards a small path across the river, heart racing at how intimate it had become once you were alone in a park, under the moon.
He took your hand in his, lifting you up on a stone bench so you could sit next to him. He just stared up at the moon, his thumbs twiddling together like he was struggling to form a conversation. You could tell he was anxious but for what reason? You had known him for years only seeing him like this when he was about to ask someone out. “Hey Y/n, can I tell you something?”
“Always Kiri,” you replied, giving him a reassuring smile. He became flustered by your actions, trying to laugh it off but you insisted he told you anyways.
“Well,” he sighed, lowering his head. “To be honest Y/n, I really like you. When we were kids, I saw you save this kid from being bullied and ever since then, I’ve kind of been a secret fan. That’s why I was so quick to introduce myself on the first day of school, and why I joined this agency with you. I think you’re cool as fuck Y/n and I really want to take you out and make you mine.”
You had an idea that Kirishima liked you but you never really thought too much about it. You loved Kirishima, adored who he was as a person. He was insanely strong and it had been quite the trip watching him grow into his power alongside you. You didn’t act on your hidden feelings you had towards him because you were more scared of scaring him off than anything, but to hear him now reassured your own feelings you had been denying for years.
You didn’t respond, instead you took his head in between your hands, pressing your lips to his. You thought it was going to be a small peck but Kirishima took advantage of your advance, wrapping his left arm around your waist, the other coming up to caress your cheek. When pulling away, you looked up at Kirishima, a small laugh leaving his lips. “What?” you finally spoke, confused at his reaction.
“Nothing! Your eye is just black and red again.” He knew what that meant, meaning you were either ready to fight or that you were flustered with high emotion. You were quick to look away, becoming nervous at the action. He gently turned your head back towards him, dipping down so he was eye level with you. “I think it’s cute.”
“Shut up!” you joked, swatting him away. He just laughed, pulling you into his side as he rested his head on yours. “Thank you, Kiri.” It was a simple saying but it had such a heavy meaning. He was not only your best friend, but the person you fell in love with.
KAMINARI
Imagine your quirk to be like Ayato Kirishima’s Kagaune
You had to keep your quirk a secret because of who your father was. Your quirk was considered a ‘Ghoul Quirk’ meaning it came from a villain who was defeated a year or two after you were born. You knew the consequences that came with showing your quirk and even though you weren’t raised under a villains roof, your quirk had yet to be accepted by the civil world.
That was until you privately auditioned to be put into the hero course at UA high school. You presented yourself to the staff, telling them our story of how you were raised by normal civil family, not knowing of your birth family's ability, life, or well being. The school looked into your life, forming a background check before you were accepted, but alas, you were accepted.
That was when you met Kaminari, the walking car battery. Okay, that is what he had called himself when he introduced himself to you and for some reason, it has stuck with you all this time. When he asked about your power, you just shrugged and said you weren’t able to activate it unless you were training on the battlefield due to the schools requests. They were uneasy about your power, knowing what it was and where it came from. No doubt the rest of the school knew about your family's history, maybe even more than you did. But you weren’t your family, you had considered yourself to be the only living part of you.
When the time came to train, you had no choice but to show your Kagune to the rest of the class, having the dragon like tales sprout from your back. Both your eyes turned black and red when you activated your quirk by the snap of your finger. You quite literally had to break your finger in order to activate your quirk but having a ‘ghoul quirk’ meant you regenerated 100x faster than the human body.
You were quick to show the class what you were made of, using both your physical strength and Kagune to do the given task. When you had completed the objective, you received a silent stare from your fellow classmates. You knew that they would react in some way, assuming the worst when they found out who you were. But that didn’t stop Kaminari from approaching you.
“Hey Y/n! Good job today! Your quirk is amazing!!” He had his big, goofy grin plastered across his face when he approached you, Kirishima by his side. “I didn’t know you had a ghoul quirk. I thought they were wiped out a long time ago.”
“They were, but I wasn’t raised by them actually. I may be the last living person but I’m not like the other ghoul quirks,” you hesitated, becoming nervous from the topic of conversation. You found yourself stuttering when the topic of your quirk was being talked about.
“Still, that’s bad ass!” You looked at Kaminari who was nothing but genuine in his reaction. Your face felt flushed as you admired his expression, your cheeks feeling hot as he continued to talk to you. Kirishima shook his head, letting out an annoyed groan.
“Oh my god this is so sad. Y/n, Denki wants to ask you out.”
“KIRISHIMA BRO? what the fuck?” Kaminari was flustered, spazzing out to his friend standing right in front of you. He whispered the last part, barely audible to your ears but you heard it, which caused you to let out a small giggle.
“Okay bye! I’ll see you around Y/n!” Kirishima waved the both of you off, leaving a frazzled Kaminari awkwardly trying to find his footing. You were quite ruffled yourself, unsure on how to react to what Kirishima had said, knowing it was true due to Kaminari’s reaction. You looked up at Kaminari who was quick to take a seat next to you.
“It’s true,” he sighed, rubbing his thighs as he struggled to form words. “I do like you and uhh I just… I’ve never asked out a girl and had it go right. But I really like you!” he repeated, finally turning towards you. “Will you go on a date with me, please?” It was the please that made you laugh, knowing he wasn’t trying to sound desperate. You found him cute, especially with how nervous he was. “I’ve never asked someone as amazing as you out before so I understand if you don’t want to.”
You didn’t know whether to be upset that he was asking you out because of your quirk or to be excited because someone was actually interested in you because of your quirk. In the end, you couldn’t be upset. Kaminari was sweet but he was just as dumb, meaning that he wasn’t asking you out cause of your quirk, he was asking you out because he saw the real you and liked what he saw. You smiled at Kaminari, agreeing to his proposal. “I would love to.”
“Wait really?” You nodded. “Not a joke?”
“Nope.” He got up and fist bumped the air before running off. He was quick to stop himself, turning around to speak to you.
“I’ll pick you up tonight?” You nodded, watching the boy run off towards his friends. “Guys! She said yes!! NO I’M NOT KIDDING!”
Kaminari wasn’t great about expressing himself thoroughly or in a way that people could understand. He was simple in how he expressed himself but others usually saw it as mindless thinking. Not you though, you saw him for who he was. He was more than just an air head, he really had genuine feelings about the things he cared about, not just about you. And that’s why you had fallen so hard for him. He was genuine, real, truthful. He couldn’t keep a secret to save his life but he was an honest man.
That’s why you said yes, regardless of what your quirk was. He wasn’t scared of you, nor did he think you were evil. He saw you for who you were, thinking you were the most beautiful superhuman he had ever known.
