The Magnus protocol took our intense fear of emails and said exactly but what if worse what if guy slowly succumbing to the Deep sat down at his desk and wrote you an email about it. What if computer text to speech program sent you a name and address of a goth and his gee-gee. What if a friend emailed you about the thing that is only partially their late lover haunting them. What if the email was actually a letter from the 1830s about a bloody violin. What if the email was a letter of resignation with way too many complaints about the enthusiastic volunteers. What if you got a compromising email about your boss murdering a former colleague. What if you got an email from said boss about a new hire. What if your email had more 're:'s than words in the title.

What would you do huh? How would you respond? What would you respond? When would you respond? It's been two days and the email is still marked as unread what will you do with huh? It's been 6 months and it's still in your inbox marked as unread even though you've read it every day since it was received. What are you going to do about the email

I normally keep my mouth shut when a comment annoys me, because I maintain it's not really fair for an author to use their platform to go after individual readers who may or may not expect the author to read their comments (though we do!). Submission form mysteries unraveled!

People who want to submit more than 1 photo at a time need to use the tumblr app to send their stuff in. The app allows you to attach up to 10 images in one post as well as add your own tags! I'm not a phone person myself and I know this isn't ideal for everyone but is the easiest on us who tag the inbox.

PC and browser tumblr users get the old style form with one image only. Some frustrated folks send in multiple images as a giant ask, and that's not ideal. We can't edit the ask to remove items against our TOS and often have to throw whole submissions out.

If you're on PC and using Legacy tumblr, your submissions come in broken, untaggable, and often have to go to the void for that alone. If there are phobias I can't tag, I just have to throw it away. I beg you to turn OFF legacy mode before you send things in.

tumblr ain't perfect, but it's the one social media place where you guys can send in your goofball finds this way and we love y'all and don't want you getting frustrated at the process. Thank you @this-is-not-a-slow-burn for helping me figure this out once and for all!

Sometimes (often) I have to send work emails to 300+ people. Here are the most cursed auto-responders:

I am out of office today from 1 pm - 2 pm eastern time. I will not be responding to email during this time, my apologies for the delay, which you would not have known was a delay if I hadn't sent you this fucking email because 1 hour is a completely acceptable gap in email checking. If I need to hear from you within five hours I'll send a goddamn text or call, who do you think you are?

I am out of office 4 weeks ago. I'll be back in office 4 weeks ago. So either I died on this trip or I don't know how to turn this auto-responder off. Enjoy this email you didn't need.

Email with a subject line that looks like it's a personal response but it's actually an away message. Subject line: I love doing this work with you! What an exciting time! Email body: Unfortunately I can't do it with you today, because I'm out of office for 6 months on a sabbatical sleeping in a hammock next to a really cool tortoise on a beach, enjoy reading this email you didn't need to read and haha you're sitting at a computer right now, aren't you? LOL. how sad. did I mention I'm currently hanging out with a tortoise probably?
