Hi! I was thinking of a F1 request (male reader preferably) where 2 drivers (or more) like the reader and are kinda fighting for attention, flirting and generally being sweet (like bringing reader his favorite drink etc) but reader is too oblivious to realize it happening. Eventually readers best friend (I was thinking Yuki or Danny) tells him but he stays in denial, despite liking the idea. Eventually one of the others confesses and pushes the other/s to do it as well and reader gets stressed about disappointing them, but they agree they can all date him (alternate ending: he picks one and the others deal with it lmao) and itâs just a happy and fluffy ending. I was thinking maybe Max and Charles, or maybe Lando and Oscar but honestly it kinda works with any combination. Like I said it can be 2 or more drivers, and I understand if you arenât comfortable writing because everyone isnât always cool with this type of stuff so ofc Iâll respect it if thatâs the case. Have a good day!
BOTH? BOTH! ᴸᴺⴠ⺠ᴟᴞâ¸Âš
summery - you are the McLaren media manager and take care of the McLaren tiktok and instagram (filming, posting etc) , so you find yourself working quite a lot with Lando and Oscar, your bff is Yuki :)
reader - male
warnings - use of y/n?
a/n- ty for the req! I decided to actually try to write a poly relationship this time so sorry if it's bad, also I chose Lando and Oscar because I wrote so many max things soz
requests are open! reblogs are very appreciated :)
You are McLaren's social media manager, you film all their tiktoks, instagram posts and whatnot, so you're quite close to both drivers Lando and Oscar, some (your best friend Yuki) would say too close, but you never understand what he's talking about. Right now you're hanging out with Yuki in his place, you're sitting across him on the couch, he groaned and rolled his eyes at you as you put another +2 card on the table, drawing 4 cards from the deck "hey Y/N, how's the job at McLaren going?" he suddenly asked with underlying intentions you couldn't tell "it's fine, why you ask?" you answered Yuki with a raised eyebrow "oh no reasonn... you seem to get along well with the Lando and Oscar" he said while putting another card "isn't that a good thing,it's kind of my job, i don't want them to hate me" you said also placing a card down, you answer earned a shrug from Yuki "they seem to really like you" he said, you shook your head "impossible, but I'm not opposed to that" you answered while chuckling, after that Yuki dropped the subject and continued losing to you in UNO. A few minutes later Yuki decided to bring up the subject once again "So let's say you could date one of them, which one?" he asked, you rubbed your chin while thinking "hmm..can I say both?" you said, raising an eyebrow, you response earned a chuckle from Yuki "you can, but I don't think they'll like that" he said, and with that the conversation ended
You were sitting with the two drivers, scrolling on your phone trying to think about some ideas for the next tiktok video, you felt thirsty "I'm gonna go grab a glass of water" you said and stood up from the couch so it wouldn't seem like you're just walking away out of nowhere, you felt a hand force you to sit down, actually two hands, Lando's and Oscar's, you looked at them confused "I'll get you a glass of water" Lando said with a heroic voice before getting up, Oscar slightly elbowed the brit but Lando ignored that and walked to the kitchen area to get you a glass of water and returning shortly after and looking smugly at Oscar who rolled his eyes at Lando, making you think about what you and Yuki talked about earlier. Small things like that kept happening for the next few weeks, you saying you'll get something, ask for something etc, and the two boys jumping at the opportunity to provide it to you.
One day after doing some shootings for an Instagram post you were standing by yourself in a room, it was empty besides yourself, suddenly you were cornered by Lando, a determined look on the brits face "Hello, Y/N" he said, trying to make his voice deeper, you made a face and raised an eyebrow "Hello, Lando.." you said and put your phone in your pocket "I've got something to tell you!" he semi-yelled, you could tell he was kind of nervous "shoot" you said and waited for an answer from Lando "actually, Oscar also has something to tell you" he said and left, adding to your confusion as you stood there, moments later Lando came back, dragging poor Oscar with him "you go first, I'll tell him after you do" Oscar said and Lando nodded "but you are telling him, deal?" Lando said and Oscar nodded "tell me what? what's going on with you two" you asked in a confused tone "well...I think I like you,no, I know I like you, in a romantic way" Lando said first, without letting you even think, let alone open your mouth, Oscar started to speak too "Yeah, Me too, we both like you" the aussie said, leaving you shocked as you looked at them with your eyes widened "uhm...what..? you finally asked after a few seconds, you didn't know what to say, you thought about your conversation with Yuki, and how he said that the two would not want to date you at the same time, you felt a bit stressed, you didn't want to accept one and reject the other especially since you liked both of them, you train of thoughts was cut but Oscar starting to talk again "It's okay if you don't like us back, or only like one of us, but just tell us the truth, please" he said and Lando nodded, waiting for you answer "Well" you began "I like both of you, if that's fine, I just don't really know if you two would like to be in a relationship together, the three of us" you finished talking "we are more than okay with that!" Lando said enthusiastically, grabbing your shoulders and hugging you tightly, urging Oscar to join the hug. The three of you ended all cuddled up in one of their driver rooms.

DBF Hotch is my weakness. Especially when itâs combined with jealousy and protectiveness.
Like youâre going out a on a date - hotch is already incredibly jealous about the whole affair.
BUT then you call him, crying, asking if he will come pick you up because the date was absolutely awful. He was such a prick to you and now youâre standing outside the restaurant, alone at night. And his protective instinct and anger at your date kicks in and heâs breaking every traffic law to get to you.
only one
it's been a while since i've written dbf!hotch and i've missed him SO MUCH thank you for requesting <3 wc; 1k cw; fem!reader, age gap, dbf/jealous/protective!aaron, aaron's a bit mean BUT doesn't last long at all, ends fluffy, some suggestiveness
all characters within this are 18+
you've been on your fair share of bad dates, but nothing compared to what you had just endured.
backhanded compliments one after the other, interruptions amidst all your sentences, snide remarks, even rude behavior towards the poor server waiting on the two of you. and to end the night, your date left you with the full responsibility of the check (you made sure to leave a generous tip too, rightfully deserved), and without a ride home.
your only solution was aaron, and you knew it wouldn't come easily; the image of his clenching jaw flashing through your mind when he heard you had a date, his disappointed and irritated 'have fun' as you left. but at this point, you didn't care. he was also the only one you wanted to speak to, the only one you needed.
"yes?" aaron's tone was neutral when he answered, not harsh but not enthusiastic either.
you opened your mouth to speak, but you simply couldn't find any words. shame and embarrassment prickled up and down your spine. your cheeks felt hot. you wanted to disappear.
"i'm getting work done. so if you have something to say, say it. don't waste my time." there it was.
you had been doing a fair job at fighting the sob that was aching within your chest, but his hard toned words finally caused the dam to shatter. your vision blurred from the multitude of tears, a string of whimpers and a sniffle leaving you.
his front dropped immediately. "tell me what happened."
"he-" hiccup. "god, it was awful. he treated me like i was an inconvenience to him. at the end he told me, it-" another hiccup. "and i, were a waste of time and-" you poured out everything, leaving aaron with a sick pit in his stomach.
his eyes squeezed shut, gripping so tightly onto his phone it could snap into two. "where are you?"
once you told him where, he hung up, not allowing you to say anything else. as much as that stung, relief filled you; at least he was coming to your rescue.
if your estimation was right - aaron was currently over thirty minutes away, maybe a bit more as result of saturday night traffic - consisting of people who were having a much more enjoyable evening than yourself.
however, he was pulling up at the restaurant within half the time, the wheels skidding to a stop as he approached. once parked, his door hastily opened, and he all but tore out of the car. his actions were hurried, enraged, and before you could blink he was at your side.
"get in." his hand found the small of your back, guiding you - and not very gently - towards his car, opening the passenger door for you as well. again, his urgency didn't give you the opportunity to utter a single word.
you slid into your seat, a push of air embracing you as aaron slammed your door shut. he moved around the front of the car, getting in himself. saying nothing, he began mindlessly driving the route back to your house.
the silence was tense in the air, thick as humidity on a hot summer's day. but then again, there had always been lingering tension between the two of you. and neither of you were stupid, you both knew what it was.
"well?" you finally said, both quietly and timidly.
"what?"
you exhaled heavily, wiping at your tears but failing miserably. "aren't you happy?"
your voice was defeated and a heavy sigh left him, all his anger vanishing. this wasn't a war. "sweetheart, i'm far from happy."
"and i can tell you're mad-"
"i'm furious." aaron interrupted, and you winced slightly. "but not at you." to accompany his words, his grasp on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles turning white and his foot pressing a bit harder on the gas. "i'm livid that prick had the audacity to treat you the way he did."
you nodded slowly, the tears on your cheeks glistening from the outside lights - cars' headlights, the street lamps passing by.
"you know you're worth it, don't you." aaron asked, but there was also no question within his words.
another sniffle escaped you, followed by a shrug.
"i mean it. if that dense fool can't see everything you have to offer, he's clearly not in his right mind. and definitely not worth your tears."
he paused. when you failed to answer, he prompted, firmly to ensure you would no other doubts. "okay?"
you nodded again. "yeah. i guess."
"and i didn't mean to snap earlier." aaron took ahold of your hand, his eyes averting from the road to look at you. "i'm was upset, to put it bluntly. i'm not very fond of sharing you, and i wish i didn't need to."
you turned slightly - still clutching onto hand - finally allowing yourself to face him. "then why haven't you asked me out?"
the forbidden question. the circumstances made it difficult, you were his best friend's daughter. he was your father's best friend.
but you were tired. aaron was tired. both of you were in desperate need of each other. when you were around aaron, the constant burn of needing him close, needing to touch him, needing to indulge in him until you forgot your own name and more, was becoming agonizing. you couldn't care less about all the holdbacks anymore. you needed him.
and aaron now, seeing your tear slicked cheeks, knowing no one else could treat you better compared to him - he's never wanted you more. no matter how wrong it was, nothing was more right.
aaron flicked on the turn signal, choosing the route that would drive you away from your home. his voice was confident, casually dominant. "the night's still young, isn't it? give me the chance to turn yours around."

Howdy, so I don't know if you have seen The Last of Us, but if you have, you know the scene where Joel saves Ellie from the hospital and he just ploughs through everyone and its like wow -///-
I just think it would be a really cool like drabble if this was a Din x reader fic? Only if you wanted to write it though!! Also I'm so happy that I'm on your taglist for inevitable because I jump to read it every time that I see that I've been tagged, it has me in a chokehold and the way that you write the reader is so damn good.
Your writing is something that brings comfort to me every week, and the way you interact and talk to your followers is so sweet. I love coming back from a stressful day to sit down somewhere comfortable to enjoy your work.
Anyways thanks for reading this ramble of an ask and I hope that you're doing well :)
[a/n]: combining some stuff here! this is for the anon who asked for this scene AND for @cockscombkingdom who asked for a fic in Din's POV where he takes care of reader and keeps her safe. I started with the plan to make this very sweet and fluffy and I'm not gonna lie a little darkness seeped into it. my bad.
also in case it isn't abundantly clear i am a joel miller apologist thx
Din Djarin x Female!Reader
Warnings: Violence, death, injuries, mild dark!din (if you squint and/or have a problem with murder)
Word Count: 1,440
Summary: You were selfless. You gave and you gave and you gave. The universe planned to only take more, but Din Djarin would be damned if he let it.
LOOK FOR THE LIGHT
.
"you'd just come after her." -Joel Miller (TLOU)
.
Din was worried about you. He was always worried about you because you were always on his mind. It couldnât be helped. Somebody had to because it seemed like you were perpetually too worried about everyone else. Din admired that about you. He always had. You went out of your way to help anyone and everyone who approached. You had a heart that was always willing to give, and it left you too little to use for yourself.
When the two of you first began traveling together, he noticed that about you. Sometimes youâd get so preoccupied watching Grogu youâd forget to eat. Peli had once put you to work, organizing her tools as part of the payment to fix the Razor Crest, and you had been so focused on getting the work done well that you had taken no breaks and ended up dehydrated and weak under Tatooineâs hot suns. Itâs why the mission he was delivering you to made such simple sense to him. You were special, is what you told him. Din knew you were special, felt it, but it was for very different reasons. According to you, there was something in your blood, some type of cell, that could cure a lot of people of some terrible, terrible disease spreading through a world in the Outer Rim.
Din tried to keep his distance from you. Tried to not get attached. But you were so selfless, that it naturally brought out his protective side. He couldn't help but care for you, but caring for you as a responsibility had quickly turned to loving you along the way. Din didnât know a lot about love. Didnât have much experience with it, lust was easier to grasp, and that left him confused most of the time. Din had no idea how to express what he felt for you, how to explain it in words, so he did the only thing he could do. Din took care of you. Kept you safe when he stopped to pick up quarries, made sure you remembered to eat and drink water, reminded you to go to bed and when you would eventually forget anyways heâd carry you there himself. Din didn't know what love was supposed to feel like, but what he did know was that being without you made his heart physically ache and protecting you brought him happiness.Â
Maybe thatâs all he needed to know.
âItâll be okay.â You had promised him with a smile that made your features glow. âShouldnât take long.â
That had been hours ago. Din delivered you to the medical facility as he had been hired, but when you hadnât come back out he sought after you. Itâs why he now sat in a small room, Imperials flanking the door, as he simmered in disdain. Something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong.
âMandalorian.â A man stepped into the room. A doctor from the looks of it with thin, round rimmed glasses. The name âPershingâ pinned to his lapel. Din stayed silent. âI was under the impression that you had been paid. Was there an issue?â
âNo.â Din replied. âWhere is she?â
Dr. Pershing paused and shook his head as if confused. Din tilted his head a bit, an obvious threat in body language, and the doctor was smart enough to realize this. He nervously cleared his throat. âShe is being prepared for her operation.â Din narrowed his eyes in confusion. You told him theyâd just need your blood. âThere is no reason for you to stay.â
âI promised her a ride back.â
There was a tense silence that filled the room at his words. Din watched the doctor squirm where he stood and he needed no further clarification. He shoved up from the table, prepared for a fight, when the Imperials leveled their own weapons at him before he could reach his blaster.
Dr. Pershing held his hands up in a placating manner. âShe will be a hero. After we drain her of all her blood, we can make a cure. Thereâs a 65% chance this will work and save the people of this world.â Din was fuming under his armor. Drain your blood? They were going to kill you. They were going to kill you for something that only had a 65% chance of even working. âShe will not be in pain! Sheâs been put under! She will not feel a thing, and we did not scare her with the news.â Din staggered back as if he had been physically hit. Was this man saying⌠Dr. Pershing confirmed Dinâs thoughts. âWe did not tell her this would kill her. We spared her that misery. She went under anesthesia peacefully.â
The words echoed in Dinâs head loudly. As if a bomb had gone off right beside him and left him deaf and blind. He walked on autopilot as the Imperials escorted him through the building toward the exit. They were going to kill you. They were going to kill you for a shot in the dark cure. Din was literally paces to the door when his boots stilled. The Imperials shoved him, tried to get him to move, threatened to shoot him, and then Din snapped.
With the practiced precision of a bounty hunter and Mandalorian who spent most of his life in a fight, Din spun and cut down the Imperials in one swift movement. The darksaber glowed angry in his hands, casting threatening shadows down the hall. Never before had the sword worked so well for him, but as Din marched through the facility it was practically an extension of himself. Blaster fire pinged off his beskar and he did not hesitate. If a person stepped into his path he eliminated them. Cold. Ruthless. A predator. Din stalked the medical facility searching for you, and he left a wake of death and destruction in his path.
When he finally caught sight of you, through a window into some kind of clean room. Din felt his heart flutter in his chest. The first twinge of emotion since starting this rampage. It was a reminder of why he was doing this. A reminder that his actions were necessary.
Din stormed into the room, his eyes not leaving your unconscious form as you laid on a table in a hospital gown. The staff in the room panicked in a flurry, and one of them⤠maybe the doctor maybe a nurse, Din didnât even register who the kriff it was⤠rushed him in a poor attempt to stop this onslaught. Din cut them down without blinking. Without taking his eyes off of you. The second you were in his arms, Din felt marginally settled. He wasnât going to lose you, couldnât lose you. Din had sworn to himself that heâd take care of you, it was all he knew how to do, and he wasnât going to stop for the sake of anyone.
Not even the sake of a world.
As Din carried you out of the building it occurred to him that he may be dooming an entire population of people. This worldâs chances of survival were dropping from 65% to 0%. He knew that he should care. He knew that this information should bother him. That it should make his steps more hesitant and make his chest ache in indecision, but it didnât. His choice had never been more clear to him. It was either this world or you. Din was choosing you. Heâd always choose you.
When back on the ship, Din had only carried you a few steps when gasping could be heard. He turned around to see Dr. Pershing at the end of the ramp holding a blaster at him. The man was breathing hard, face red, as if he had sprinted all the way here to stop this from happening. Din had to admire his dedication. The man believed in this cause so much he was willing to go head to head with a Mandalorian who had just single handedly cleared out a medical facility.Â
âI canât let you do this.â Dr. Pershing snapped. âYouâre dooming this world if you take her!â
A blaster fired. Dr. Pershing stumbled back, a hole in his chest, and Din held his blaster firm in his hand. Your legs draped over that arm had hidden his weapon well. A strangled gasp left the manâs lips and he collapsed into a motionless pile. Din shook his head, responding to a dead manâs words, âI donât care.â
Din would protect you under any and all circumstances.
 Was that love?

Hi, since I haven't seen anyone mention this on reddit or tumblr, I'd just like to say, as someone whose first language isn't english, Worm's cape names are fucking weird. Are all of them words? Who knows, i read Worm and Ward without knowing Eidolon and Brandish are real words and not made up words. Or they are words i know but idk wich meaning is? Is March like the month or like the organized walking verb? So do all cape names mean something, and say something about the one who chose them? I refuse to google them at this point, but Anelace? Cinereal? Myrrdin? Couldn't they pick more known 2 word combinations? Do parahumans get a discount on thesaurus? Thats all I wanted to say, thanks. PS. Wildbow, the fuck you doing using Califa de Perro as a name, couldn't you ask any Spanish speaker?, i'll kill you.
BIG ANALYSIS INCOMING
Eidolon = spectre, phantom, and idolized object/person
Brandish = to flourish and wave about an item, usually a weapon. Also an epitaph for Athena
March = to move in a uniform manner and derivative of the roman god of war, Mars
Anelace = double-sided dagger used by civilians
Cinereal = grey matter of the brain and nervous system
Myrrdin = Too many to count but generally tied to Myrddin Wylt, prophetic folklore bard and a facet of Merlin (genuinely more work than I can ever give on the topic of how insanely intertwined those myths are)
The thing about Wildbow's cape names are two-fold:
In the 80+ years of superhero genre, a LOT of cape names have been chosen and used already. Taylor mentions this to Armsmaster as a meta-joke in the first arc (ironically, DC also has a Skitter, who debuted in 2011.... the same year as Worm), so he has to be creative and sometimes creativity is simplicity.
He loves giving character names multiple meanings.
To go down the list:
Eidolon's name is ironic, because he notably not idolized (and pushed out of the spotlight compared to Legend), and he ends up becoming one of GU's spectres.
Brandish creates weapons, yes, but there's connection to Pallas (brandishing) and Athena accidentally killing him while distracted to Victoria accidentally caving her head in while distracted. (There are several story iterations, including one where they had a parental relationship).
March is about how she organizes her megacluster like an army or marching band, but also reference to her civilian name (May), the Mad March Hare from Alice in Wonderland (which her entire fight with Vista is a huge reference to), and the Ides of March (notorious for the stabby stab stab of Julius Caesar)
Anelace is a master of weapons, but he's notably reluctant about that fact, and is noted to have a healthy civilian life by other characters
Cinereal is the grey matter of the brain. She is the Atlanta Protectorate leader that turns things into grey matter (ash)
Myrddin = See the King Arthur and various clusterfuck of mythos
Even his main characters have this: Taylor tailor makes her outfits and is a silk Weaver, Khepri is an Egyptian god that bring a sunny morning... and she debuted on Gold Morning. Victoria is a Roman Goddess of Victory (Contessa uses her to find "the Path to Victory"), Antares means "Anti-Ares/Rival of Ares/Anti-War" and is the constellation "heart of the scorpion" which is Victoria inside of the wretched forcefield. We can even stretch this to Khepri and Antares: Khepri is a beetle that carries the sun on to a new day. Antares is a binary sun system (with one sun being invisible to the naked eye). In the slaughterhouse 9 fight, Taylor and her beetle (khepri) carry Victoria and the fragile one (antares) to safety (to live another day).
WE CAN EVEN GO FURTHER: Atlas is the man holding up the sky in Greek Mythology, which Taylor names her beetle. Victoria's PHO name is Point_Me_@_The_Sky (which is also a Pink Floyd reference). In Worm, Atlas holds Victoria up in the sky.
Its really fun to analyze.
Califa seems to be a simple goof. Or maybe Taylor just butchered his name.
They can't all be winners.

Some headcanons for my favorite critter (affectionately because I love your headcanons) and my favorite critter-boys (Gorgug, Riz,)
(for a lot of these I quoted stuff from the handbooks)
Gorgug:
Players Handbook: Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
I think Gorgug is very stubborn, not in a way that frustrates him (expect for in the Porter battle), but more so âI am going to find a way around this if its the last thing I do.â And he always does. (Finding a way to talk to Zelda, using a ropes velocity to get across Leviathan, in the nightmare forest, and the battle with Porter.
Gorgug alwayâs been determined even if he mentally wants to give up. His body wonât let him.
Half orcs also have a trait that makes them naturally intimidating
Players handbook: Menacing. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Gorgug knows he can be intimidating, especially to smaller folk. But its never intentional, he always tries to make himself smaller, keep his voice down, anything to let people know that heâs not trying to scare them.
Riz:
Adventures with Muk: Dankwood Speak with Small Beasts. Through sounds nad gestures you can communicate simple ideas with Small of smaller beasts. Dankwood goblins love animals and often keep squirrels, badgers, rabbits, moles, woodpeckers, and other creatures as beloved pets.
Sometimes Riz will instictivally turn his head in the direction of a cats meow because it sounds uncomfortably familiar to a goblets (goblin kit? gups?) cry. Other times he swears that he heard Zaynâs rat or one Boggy say something. He tries to ignore it most of the times.
Monsters of the Multiverse: Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself.
Riz has a hard time picking up on people's flirting (nor does he welcome it). Weak charm spells, however, donât do anything to him, sometimes he doesn't even notice someoneâs trying to cast something on him.
(I am a critter. A creature if you will. Sadly one that is burdened by the need to pay taxes and work it's fuckin' bullshit :3)
Gorgug is VERY stuborn. So stuborn that he worked out how to combine being an artificer and a barbarian, two classes that should be on complete oposite ends of the spectrum. It also means that he sometimes wont give up on something even though he really should but he's working on it.
He's very aware that he's intimidating, his parents are smallfolk after all, as are all of his neighborus. Making himself appear less threatening is second nature to him. When he gets annoyed or mad at someone though he stops trying and will intentionally allow himself to be intimidating. Standing up straight, squaring his shoulders and not lowering his voice. The first time he did this in front of his friends (not directed at them) Riz fully failed his save and dove into a nearby bush to hide.
------
Riz likes animals and sometimes really misses having Edgar around (though Zayne does let Riz hang out with the rat when he's over at Mordred sometimes). He's contemplated getting a pet before but he really couldn't afford it, plus his apartment is small and he's so busy all the time that he feels like he wouldn't be able to give a normal animal the attention it deserves.
Even after the whole Kaliina thing he still really likes cats and would get one if he ever decided to get a pet, he feels like they almost speak the same language. He sometimes feeds the strays outside his apartment or chirps at ones he sees in the streets when he's out and about. He has never once failed at finding peoples missing pets, but he doesnt charge very much for the service.
As for the flirting thing? He didn't really experience it before his glow-up in junior year. Riz got back from the Night Yorb quest, dove head-first into basically every club in the school and suddenly has to deal with it on TOP of all the stress from studying and making sure his party members dont fail their classes. It makes him feel weird. Flattering, sure, but no thank you random underclassmen.
More than once he's thought he's been involved in a normal and pleaseant conversation then BAM, someone is asking him on a date or leaning in way too close or on a couple of occasions being WAY too bold and actually touching him (he'd pinned back his ears, bared his teeth, and hissed so viciously at those people that they'd actually flinched and let him go not expecting it - he generally tries to tone down his goblin-y-ness around non-party members but fully drops the mask when angry or startled).

Antag & Protag Duos Canon Divergent AU
it's Miu in the locker next to Shuichi so they're the circumstantial friends
and Kaede with Kokichi are almost the classic lead + support except you can't tell which is which (they're both leads and Miu and Shuichi are both antags, gay people win)
I mean, Miu and Shuichi friendship is so chaotic, he could let go and say what he thinks more often, he'd be more rude. Progressively leaning more into the antag role
And their talents combined used for meddling
And working with someone who's being straightforward and friends with her would be better for Miu's state of mind
She was something along of frenemies with Kokichi, but here she's besties with Shuichi and she's in on the planning, equal on the team, so she won't backstab him
And then there's Kaede and she doesn't have Shuichi at her side, hiding behind her extroverted self during introductions and already creating the illusion of leadership and community being built around her. No, she's with Kokichi
And that affects people's first impressions of her
Those two argue a lot, not really fighting but if she wants to do something one way he insists on doing it the other, it isn't even about the leader role, each simply thinks they know better and can't move forward until they reach a consensus and every so often one will tell the other to leave them alone but "you're stuck with me, no way I'm leaving you to your own devices, somebody would end up dead if that happened"
The funny thing is they're right when they say that, it's a joke for them⌠they don't even know
Protag Kokichi go brrr He's always working, doesn't need to hide it and sneak at night
"Don't strong-arm everyone to work with you, work with me, I am as feral about it as you are, also I don't trust you further than I can throw you (and I couldn't even pick you up) so I am going to keep an eye on you, alrighty?" glowing eyes Kaede: equally glowing eyes and clenched fists "We're going to catch the mastermind"
They're like wild hogs to me (I don't know what I am saying) [this sentence pops up in my head every once in a while and it's so true, the real oumatsu dynamic]
Kaede to Kokichi: you're the most suspicious person I've ever meet, my headache, there's something deeply wrong with you, my peace of mind depends on knowing your whereabouts, if anything were to happen to you, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself
They don't need to trust each other to be the best of friends, it's actually better this way, that's the whole reason they're each other's closest allies in fact
And maybe it does happen, maybe she does lead everyone as a protag to make the decision not to vote after he dies with Shuichi, having agreed to go along with the plan our antags made
Maybe she's grieving and sobbing and self-loathing because when they split up in their plan to figure out antags scheme she chose to pursue Miu for⌠selfish reasons that make her feel so gross with herself now that he's dead and she doesn't know he agreed to it and that they all betted on her anger to get them this outcome
But I dunno so don't ask me [

Happy Halloween! Have a book:
This is Siren's Song by @kedreeva (Hi! I asked to bind your fic months ago, sorry it took so long XD). It's an incredible Good Omens siren AU, which needs no introduction from me but it gets one anyway. It's one of the most in-character fics I've ever read, tackles a lot of the most resonant themes of the original (love in the context of aromanticism and asexuality, human labels in the context of non-human perspective), and has incredible world-building. Later parts of the fic always make me cry but they're good tears. You'll see. When I first learned that fanbinding was a thing and started looking into how to do it, this was one of the first fics I thought of. It just took me a while to learn the skills I needed before I could do it.
More pics and process talk under the cut!
So the cover up there is black faux leather and momi paper that I bought...about two years ago? And just kept on hand till I was ready to do this project. This is the first time I've worked with it and it was fairly nice, though harder to get a nice crease into than lokta or chiyogami. It felt very fragile when I was handling it but I didn't have any issues with tearing or glue bleed-through like I thought I might. It did bleed some color when I got it damp with the glue, and it took way longer to dry than normal, but once that was done it's been fine. Which is nice because I have a lot left over, so it'll probably be making many future appearances in my binds.
Look! It's rounded! I got a backing setup recently and this is my first time using it. It was Very Hard and I am not very good at it yet. But I think it looks pretty good for a first attempt, and there was really no other way to mitigate the spine swell on this one. I used a thick paper so I've got a thick book. I also tried something new with the case, though it isn't visible. Usually I make the text block and the case separately and then attach them as the last step, but for this one I actually built the case around the text. Like, boards attached to mull/tapes (sandwiched between thinner boards, with grooves cut for them so there are no bulges), then covered with momi, then leather corners and spine, then paste down the endpaper. It's got an oxford hollow, too! The tapes and mull actually wrap around the outside of the boards instead of the inside like I've done before. Endpapers are my favorite feather chiyogami. Combined with the marbled momi they make for a very opulent look, and I had just barely enough to do this. Like, down to the millimeter. I had to trim the edges and then glue the endpapers after to be sure they were right. I'm glad they were, because I didn't have a backup plan. Handmade endbands, colors picked to match the cover. Also, last note, I got the corner bits right for the first time. Measured properly, with no weird pointy bits that come out at funny angles. Very proud.
Title page and bookmark/interior shot. Did you know that some basic fonts in MS Word look different when you use a huge font size? Because I didn't until I made this title page. That's Parchment for the title, and it only gets those swirly bits around the capital letters if you take it to 26pt or higher (I used 72 here). Now I wonder if any of the other fonts have easter eggs in them like that. The ribbon is very fancy, to go along with the rich endpaper/cover combo. I think it's pretty appropriate for a mythological golden age of piracy story, as are the text ornaments:
Chapter header image, chapter end image, and section break image. It was a very image-heavy typeset. I was originally planning to only have a header and a section break, but I couldn't decide whether I liked the ships or the book/shell/feather better, and they both suited the story so well that I just went with both. Again, opulent, but I think it fits. All the images came from rawpixel, all I did was resize them.
There was a small error in the trimming process. Comes of having to calculate so closely the exact amount you can trim off, that you have to trim off so your slightly-too-small endpapers fit. I think something got misaligned when I poked the sewing holes because only the first signature is like this. The rest of the book has a more appropriately-sized margin between the page number and the edge. I got very lucky here, and I know it, and I'm never cutting it this close (lol) again. Next time we just order another sheet of chiyogami.
And that's it! I have one author's copy and one new bind in progress right now (that's taking a while because I'm learning more new stuff for it), and then I have two Christmas gift books to do, so it might be a bit before I have another book to share.
#bookbinding#fanbinding#snek makes books#good omens#fic rec#this one was months in the making#maybe years if you consider i bought the momi in 2021#long before i started working on the typeset#i love it so much though#when i was done i wanted to carry it around all day and show it to people#like a kid who wants you to put their drawing on the fridge

How do you think the events at the end of the movie wouldâve played out had Miles actually gotten sent to his home universe (Earth-1610) and Gwen had also arrived there as well when she got the watch from Hobie? How different would that part of the movie be excluding the stuff that happened at Earth-42.
Honestly? That's a good question.
I initially was thinking of someone a fic response like I did with the jealous prompt I got a few days ago, but I couldn't find a way that I could align all the canon elements in the fic in a way that would give a good conclusion. Perhaps I would use that idea for a proper fic.
Regardless, the thing that I keep thinking is not on Miles or Gwen, but Miguel and his allies.
At first, naively so, I thought Miguel and the others were looking for the Spot; perhaps I just wanted to think this a bit more positively; because the idea that this grown ass man roped two other people to capture a 15 year old that wants to save his dad is...a choice.
(I swear I don't hate Miguel, he just tests my patience a lot.)
Now, for obvious reasons these would be a problem for any Ghostflower reunion because Miguel has no chill; and would not wait nicely for this young couple to settle an argument.
Where is he, though.
Not seriously, what is this?
I was thinking he would be in Visions Academy, but this doesn't look like it at first glance. The dark atmosphere and the rain is not helping this either. If anybody has an idea, I am listening, but the only clue I have is that Miguel has a gigantic red sign that says "Welcome."
(Fun fact, the first time I saw this movie i almost expected the sign to say Hell. It wouldn't make sense on a world building sense but that was what going on my mind seeing this situation.)
Riley we know was waiting in front of Miles's house.
Now, this one is not really a problem because in the scenario that they are all in the same universe, this would mean Gwen already dispatched the Meathead (the director's words, not mine;) with Miles just entering his room after that.
Considering the situation, there is a chance Gwen would either see Miles going into his apartment, or perhaps Miles realizing that Gwen is on the alley. However for the nature of this ask, we would not explore those scenarios in this post.
Here is when it gets tricky.
Jessica was following Miles' dad, which makes sense considering they are looking for Miles and he may try to go directly to his dad.
In the scenario the timing tracks exactly the same, Gwen would probably look at the window and see Miles, so she may or not realize Jeff is coming.
What would I think if Gwen got to Miles directly? That things would probably escalate rather quickly.
I think if Gwen saw Miles lying on the floor (As he did when he got home in Earth 42;) she would quickly rush to him. To which I would expect Miles to either adopt a defensive posture, or tell her to stay away.
We need to remember that as far as Miles is aware, she is still working with the organization, last time they saw each other she was attempting to capture him (Well, honestly she didn't try very hard, but it would still be betrayal for him.)
Of course, I imagine Gwen would start with either a "I'm so sorry, Miles," "I am not here to fight, I am on your side," "I know a way we avoid the canon event." Perhaps she would say a combination of all of those things, the problem is that I don't think we would have a chance because problem number 3 would arrive.
(Imagine this is Rio from 1610.)
Now, I am going to be a bit generous here, and I will imagine that Rio didn't hear Miles coming in (unlike Rio from Earth 42,) perhaps the other version of her heard Miles come in because she was picking up laundry and was close to the door.
But I am sorry, every time I try to imagine an scenario where Gwen and Miles get to met here, I can't imagine any of them being quiet enough to not make Rio realize there are people in her house. Emotions are running way too high for either of them to think about that.
In the movie, Miles was on the floor and heard Rio appear, so he had the time to get his jacket on. In this scenario? Frankly I imagine Miles and Gwen would be close to screaming so neither of them would realize of her coming by.
Now imagine you are Rio for a moment.
You all of the sudden hear your son and or/the girl he was with earlier screaming about nonsense you don't know what the heck could be about, and when you open the door you see your son and that girl in Spider suits. No idea if there is any information or pictures of Gwen's as a Spiderwoman on Earth 1610, but that's kind of a moot point when your son not only is dressed up as the current spiderman, but also is sporting these.
(Sorry I don't have a full image, I try to get ANYTHING in the movie that would give me a good visual, and no shot; I couldn't get the complete image of where I got these, and finding these was a pain and a half.)
There is a 50/50 chance that Gwen/Miles may be able to sneak a "is a costume!" lie, but all things consider this would probably make Rio realize a lot of things are making sense all of the sudden. Rio would probably rush to Miles once she sees he is this hurt and freak out, no doubt.
And if things couldn't get worse, is around this time Jeff is coming upstairs, and who came with him?
YEP.
Now, we see that Jess spies on Gwen and Miles' parents thanks a device, not sure if this is the spider thing Gwen used earlier to track the Spot, or something else; regardless, she would definitely see them there, if not hear the ruckus.
Here is the thing, would I think Jess would do something?
...Sadly, yes.
Jess has kind of a soft spot for Gwen, and while I don't think she was the best Mentor (less about what she taught Gwen and more on not being there for her enough, but that's another discussion.) Jess gave the chance to Gwen to go to 1610 in the first place, she also let her try to fix it (thought the circumstances weren't too generous,) and while we don't have a clue what she would do next, I am inclined to believe that canonically, she is not going to snitch to Miguel that Gwen went by, perhaps only mention that Miles isn't in this dimension.
Because here is the thing, she has a soft spot for Gwen, but we can see that she definitely thinks Miles is a problem; and considering she is still helping Miguel, I doubt her mind had changed much in that regard.
So while she let Gwen "go" to get Miles (though there is the chance she is just letting her go so she can track where she is going,) I doubt she would see Miles there and not do something.
Now we have Rio screaming her lungs out about what the heck Miles has been doing, Miles probably trying to explain the situation to her, Gwen may or may not try to defend Miles (honestly the only reason I may think Gwen doesn't say anything is because this is really a conversation she shouldn't be involved.) And Jess then comes out from the window to collect Miles; she may also bring her Motorcycle with her which would cause even more chaos.
Hey remember how Jeff was just going upstairs? I like to think is something like this.
I know is an old meme but imagine Jeff, happily coming back home after an end of his shift; and he finds the house with his son on a Spiderman costume fighting a very pregnant woman (who may have the motorcycle INSIDE HIS HOUSE,) the girl he brought with him earlier shooting webs or something trying to stop the black lady, and his wife probably screaming on a corner.
While writing this, I originally was going to say earlier that having Miguel and his croonies here could make things a tad complicated; no wonder I deleted that earlier because this is just chaos.
Speaking of Miguel, no doubt Jess informed him that Miles was at his house, with no signs of Riley. Depending or where he is, he may be coming by soon enough.
Sorry if you or anyone else was expecting a fluffy or heartwarming scenario, but in this blog I try to adhere to canon facts as much as I can for these analysis, and I couldn't answer with canon possibilities without taking everything into account.
That being said, oh my g-d this was so much fun; I should try to do these more often.
I will see if I use the original fic idea I had in mind, while drafting this I also thought of the possibility of what would happen if Gwen's picture (That as discussed in this analysis, she may have with her) fell off while she was leaving Miles' apartment; if anyone is interested in that last idea please say so because I am on the fence about it.
That's it for today! Hope you folks had fun with this.

Oh Lawd.....
You know how Facebook keeps popping up those, "This happened <blank> years ago!" dialogues? Yes, well. Apparently, mine is reminding me of David Tennant-related things I did ten years ago today. Ten years ago I was in Vancouver, BC, to watch some of the filming for Gracepoint. I'd never been on a film set before and had never been to Canada, so it seemed like the perfect vacation/unique experience combination to do, ya know? But unbeknownst to me, the hotel I booked for the stay ended up being the hotel a certain Scot *ahem* was ALSO staying in....and the shock I got upon finding this was the case was enough to power a defibrillator, believe me! I've told the lengthy-version tale of meeting him and etc., elsewhere so I won't dredge it all up here, but I do need to mention a few small details in order for the photo below to make sense. We met in the lobby, he was a complete and utter gentleman, and he took a photo for us. After that I resolved to stay out of his way and leave him be for the rest of my stay, because it pained me heartily to think he couldn't enjoy stress-free time away from fans in his own space after work. So I did just that....except. A few days later I was waiting in a line in the lobby to enter the hotel restaurant for dinner. He appeared in the lobby, chatted to some friends who finally left, and then turned towards me to lean on a pillar in the lobby to play on his phone. Then he said "Hiya!" I looked over, and he motioned to me to approach. BUT I DIDN'T. Because there was no way he was actually calling me, right? Then I went into the restaurant, but felt so bad about what I'd just done, I got up, drink in hand, and went out to apologize. We ended up chatting about five minutes or so - and he made the comment that my name was spelled the same way as Patti Smith's (see here for more on that) - before his car picked him up. Suffice to say two things: that drink remains one of the best drinks I ever did drink (a Sazerac, for those wondering!) and the beginning of my "Let's diss David Tennant for funsies!" journey. Because oh yeah, I've done it again. Twice. I'm a class act, people.

Hi, @thousand-winters!! I'm your Secret Spirit! I apologize for posting this late, but I hope it's worth the wait! I combined your prompts of Mob and Tsubomi hanging out and Mob and Reigen hanging out because I couldn't pick between the two, so here's some photo booth shenanigans with the three of them!
Thank you @mp100secretspirit for hosting this and for also being accommodating with me!
All the drawings in a photostrip and a fic to go with this under the cut:
âShishou! Tsubomi-chan!â
Mob lifts his hand up, pointing to the photo booth some ways away. His eyes shine with excitement, a small smile on his face.
Tsubomi grins widely, her hands clasped together. âThatâs the perfect way to end the day! Come on!â
She rushes ahead, Mob just behind her. Reigen tails behind, his hands full as he carries various shopping bags from the goodies Mob and Tsubomi wanted to buy: a small teddy bear Mob said reminded him of Reigen, a Hagemon shirt on sale that unfortunately looks just like Mobâs⌠interesting monkey shirt so Tsubomi can match with him, a couple of cat plushies Reigen won for both of them at a claw machine, among other things.
Itâs winter break for Mob, meaning heâs been able to stop by the Spirits and Such Consultation Office after cram school more often, something not required of him, but Reigen appreciates it all the same. It feels like old times, just the two of them (and Serizawa and Tome) doing exorcisms together and solving customersâ problems.
Today, Mob had decided to bring his friend to join him, the girl who had rejected him earlier that year. Yet despite her rejection, it didnât stop them from reconciling their friendship. From what Mob had told Reigen, Tsubomiâs family didnât move too far away, just to the other side of Seasoning City, so the two of them were able to meet up in person once winter break had started.
Tsubomi had only been in the Office for about half an hour when Tome declared that the three of them (Reigen, Mob, and Tsubomi) should spend the rest of the day hanging out together.
(âWait, why me?! I have an office to run!â
âBecause you and Mob-kun havenât spent any time together lately aside from work, and I know you want to again! And I know he does too, as much as he wants to spend time with Takane-san! Besides, Serizawa-san and I got the office covered!â)
Tsubomi and Mob agreed that the three of them spending time together was a good idea, and Serizawa agreed that he and Tome could handle the Spirits and Such Consultation Office on their own, and after a lot of insistence and maybe some pleading puppy eyes, Reigen finally relented.
Of course, before leaving the office, he forgot to ask Tome where they should spend the rest of their dayâ it was her idea for them to do this, she couldâve at the very least suggested something. But he figured the Seasoning City Mall was a good spot; if they didnât know what to do, they could find something to do here. Itâs a pretty big mall, after all.
At least Mob and Tsubomi are following the âno more than a total of ÂĽ4000 a storeâ rule that Reigen established when they arrived, deciding heâll pay for anything they do since heâs the adult, but also thereâs just so much that they seem to want. Heâs kind of regretting saying that heâll pay for everything they do or want at the mall with how much his hands hurt from all the shopping bags. They havenât even seen a quarter of the stores here. (How many stores can one mall have?!)
Reigenâs just glad the photo booth is pretty cheap.
âShishou, join us!â Mob says with a smile, halfway into the photo booth.
Reigen puts all the bags on the floorâ almost drops them really, but heâs pretty sure there might be something fragile in one of them. He shakes his hands and stretches out his fingers, holding back a grimace. God, those bags were heavy. âYou kids go on ahead, Iâll watch over our things.â
âBut itâs more fun with more people, Reigen-san!â Tsubomi insists, picking out a winter theme on the screen in front of her for their photos. âCome on!â
âNo, seriously, Iââ
Something tugs at his arm, but thereâs nothing there. It doesnât take long for him to figure out itâs the work of psychic powers, and one look at Mobâs face and the way he lifts up one hand confirms it.
Reigen yelps as he ends up stumbling into the photo booth, landing very ungracefully onto the seat while Mob and Tsubomi laugh.
Click!
âWhat the hell was that for?!â Reigen exclaims, pushing himself back up.
Heâs only met with laughter.
âYou didnât have to do that, I couldâve justââ
âQuick! Smile!â Tsubomi says between giggles before he can lecture about how rude pulling him into the booth was.
Thereâs a few seconds left on the timer, and admittedly Reigen feels a little bad about wanting to just leave the two of them and not join in for the rest of the photos. So he leans an arm on Mobâs shoulder and smiles at the camera, Tsubomi on the other side of Mob holding up a peace sign.
Click!
âWhat next?â Mob asks as the next countdown begins, still smiling.
âSilly faces,â Reigen immediately suggests. âYou always gotta do the silly photo when you do these things!â
And so they do. Tsubomi squishes her cheeks with her hands, sticking out her tongue. Mob puffs out his cheeks, crossing his eyes. Reigen just smirks, holding up bunny ears behind Mobâs head.
Click!
The countdown begins one more time.
âWhat should we do for our last photo?â Tsubomi asks, watching the timer go down.
âI know what I want to do!â Mob says after a moment, immediately wrapping one arm around Tsubomi and one around Reigen, pulling them closer to himself. Seeing the smile on Mobâs face as he hugs them close, grinning so wide and bright, Reigen canât stop himself from smiling back.
Click!
Once the last photo is taken, Reigen feels himself practically being shoved out from behind, Mob and Tsubomi eager to see how the photos turned out.
âH-Hey, give me a second! You donât need to push!â
There are four photo strips that are produced from the photo booth, all of them decorated with a cute winter theme.
Tsubomi hands them all out, Reigen taking two of them and saying something about being able to pin one onto his client satisfaction board. He tries to act like he doesnât care to do it, but the looks in their eyes let him know they know better.
Reigen takes a moment to look at the photos, finding himself smiling softly.
Seeing Mob smiling so wide and being so expressive, itâs still taking some time to get used to, but Reigen can feel a sense of pride welling in his chest. This kid, who once held back his emotions so desperately, now allowing himself to smile and laugh and have fun just like any kid his age should, having touched the lives of so many and made so many friends of his ownâŚ
Reigen looks back up, seeing how Tsubomi and Mob happily talk about the photos with each other, Mob pointing to one of them before the two of them laugh a moment later.
Reigen pockets his photo strips.
Mob really has grown so much.
âAll right, kids, you ready to head back?â Reigen asks, ruffling Mobâs hair.
With a nod, the three of them pick up their shopping bags (which Reigen is thankful for because he was not excited about carrying all of that back to the office) and start heading out of the mall. Tsubomi and Mob just continue to talk along the way, Reigen on his phone calling a taxi to take them back, the same taxi service they used to get here.
âReigen-san,â Tsubomi speaks up once theyâre outside, waiting for the taxi, âIâd like to keep visiting the office over the break and see you and Mob-kun more often, if thatâs all right with you.â
âTome-san says she and her friends from school hang out in Shishouâs office all the time!â Mob answers before Reigen can even open his mouth. âIâm sure itâs fine for you to come over, too!â
âMy office is not a teen hangout spot!â Reigen immediately retorts, before clearing his throat and turning back to Tsubomi. âBut yes, I⌠suppose I wouldnât mind you visiting the office againâŚâ
He tries to act like he could care less whether Tsubomi decides to stop by again, but something must give him away because sheâs beaming wide, her eyes shining at his answer. She bows slightly, her hands gripping tighter onto the shopping bags she carries in front of her. âThank you so much, Reigen-san!â
Mob bows slightly as well, holding his shopping bags at his sides. âAnd thank you for taking us to the mall, Shishou! I had a lot of fun!â
Reigen just turns away from them, pretending to cough into his fist. âYeah, well, winter break is for having fun, you know? Just enjoy yourselves.â
But even if he acts like he doesnât care, he canât deny that he had fun with them as well. They should really do this more often.

Introducing Hell's Newest Arrival
So, these were two separate asks (possibly by the same anon), but I've decided to combine them, since I can see one iteration of M!MC working for both. And then I started thinking more about it, which has led to me giving this version of M!MC a name: Alex.
Alex is my first official OC. He comes from an alternative universe where Belphie is actually sent to the human world for the exchange program and the year goes by with (relatively) little incident.
Alex has a rather troubled past. He's incredibly intelligent, but he's also autistic. He used to be rather bubbly, but pretty much everyone in his life--including his parents--either made fun of him or punished him for his behavior. No one liked the way his brain worked; they said it was a distraction. That he was a distraction from what was important. Like, who wants to know about his interests? Do they pertain to what's currently going on?
Alex tried his best to be what people wanted him to be, but he would fail time and time again. He just couldn't get his brain to operate the way everyone wanted it to. One day, during the summer before his freshman year of high school, something inside him snapped.
Initially, people dismissed it as him going through an emo phase, since he behaved pretty much like one. He simply kept to himself and refused to talk to anyone unless it was absolutely necessary, and most of the time he was quite moody and snarky.
But then Danny came along.
Danny started attending Alex's school after winter break of sophomore year. He presented himself as a femboy and was quite energetic, and Alex thought the new kid would get bullied.
Instead, everyone accepted Danny. Adored him, even.
And it pissed Alex off. How dare they accept Danny when he acts the way Alex once did? It's not fair! Especially because Alex knows that if he started behaving like that again, people would look at him like he had horns growing out of his head.
And so Danny became Alex's target. The femboy didn't die, thankfully, but he came rather close. He just didn't know it, because Alex would take most of his anger out in secretive writing. He wanted to kill Danny, because he thought that it would kill his inner child.
The child that would constantly cry.
By the time Alex started attending college, he wanted more than anything to escape. He hoped that the exchange program would offer a good opportunity for him to do just that, and so he applied.
Lucifer initially didn't pay much attention to Alex's application, because there was lots of applications he needed to sort through, and nothing in particular stood out on Alex's front page. But when the wind scattered everything, Alex's application landed at his feet, and when he picked it up to place it back on his desk, several emotions hit him at once.
Wrath. Sadness. Envy.
Humans normally don't have the ability to transfer their emotions onto paper with enough force for a demon to feel them, and yet somehow this particular one did. And if the Avatar of Pride can feel them as if they were his own emotions...
Lucifer decides to actually look through Alex's application from beginning to end. By the time he was finished, he knew he found his second and final human exchange student.
Perhaps it's left over from his days as an angel, but he feels the need to protect Alex. If not from the world, then from himself, at the very least. Lucifer believes that he can help guide Alex towards a more positive mental state, because currently he seems to be only a few steps away from releasing chaos onto the world.
And if Alex is truly as powerful as Lucifer senses, then the demon would much rather have him as an ally than as an enemy.

i'm reading all the peter wimsey novels because someone recommended gaudy night and that's how i work, and now i'm up to the nine tailors and just finished murder must advertise (my favorite so far), but i found it really hard to get through have his carcase, which was odd since i loved harriet vane so much in strong poison. even the characters seemed to bugger off at the end of have his carcase instead of tying up all the storylines and sayers seemed disengaged after the first act or two. i liked the parts with peter and harriet, even the two chapters that are 99% cipher, but everything else felt weak. did you enjoy this one/why or why not? do you have a favorite of the wimsey novels other than gaudy night?
I may be inducing a fight by saying this but I think Have His Carcase is one of Sayers' weakest novels, and certainly the weakest of those featuring Harriet Vane. I tried to re-read it recently and couldn't get very far into it, and I'm a huge fan of Sayers. I think it's also a necessary book in order to create a complete story for them -- but I don't know that it's necessary to read it in the modern era, and certainly not necessary to re-read it.
(My other picks for least enjoyable: Five Red Herrings and Nine Tailors, both of which are visibly her attempts to write like Agatha Christie, one of her literary heroes -- and they're not bad books, I just don't like Agatha Christie style "clockwork" mysteries, which tend to sacrifice personality to logistics. I suspect this may have impacted Carcase somewhat. We will come back to this.)
Gaudy Night is actually not my favorite overall -- I think it's one of her best, but Murder Must Advertise is my favorite and in fact the first one I read. Which is hilarious because Peter spends a significant amount of time Not Being Peter Wimsey in it, but it's just such a combination of things I love. Advertising (which Sayers worked in and which she also clearly loved writing about), secret identities, crime rings, a hint of romance, office gossip...
Anyway, Carcase. I think the problem is that to get from Strong Poison to Gaudy Night, there has to be a bridge, and it has to be kind of an unpleasant one, and thus you get Have His Carcase. One of the major points of Harriet's arc is that Sayers wanted to contravene the "damsel rescued by the hero" narrative. Not so much because she believed women should save themselves or not, but because she believed that a relationship based on that kind of inequality, where one partner was grateful (or was expected to be grateful eternally) for being saved, was inherently unhealthy and unsustainable, and it was also a super common narrative at the time she was writing. This reaction to the narrative is most visible in her unfinished novel Thrones, Dominations -- which was finished after her death by Jill Paton Walsh, and I'm not a huge fan of the end product, but I've seen the original manuscript held at Wheaton and it's evident that this was a theme before anyone else took over, it wasn't forced into the plot.
In any case, Sayers had to get Harriet and Peter from victim and rescuer to equal footing, and while Gaudy does a lot of lifting in that regard, it doesn't do enough on its own, there had to be a previous groundwork laid. In a sense I'm glad that the grappling they have to do, which is sensible and intelligently written but also really unromantic, was done in Have His Carcase, so that it doesn't intrude more than briefly into Gaudy Night. Carcase is a lot about Harriet setting boundaries and testing whether Peter will cross them, and Peter reacting (sometimes poorly) to someone challenging him in ways he's unaccustomed to being challenged. Carcase is two people finding out the worst parts of each other so they can work out that they love the reality of each other anyways, which is what they're doing in Gaudy. But we have to witness it in Carcase, which is unpleasant. At least for me.
As she matures as an author and gains more power over how she's published, you can see Sayers trying new things -- after Bellona (another fave) she gets very literary with Strong Poison, and then seems to swing between these kind of torturous attempts at Christie's style (Herrings, Tailors) and incredibly sensitive, emotionally delicate books like Murder Must Advertise and Gaudy Night. Carcase is a weird combination of the two, where she seems to be applying the dispassionate Christie style to a book that wants to be Gaudy Night but can't be.
Anyway, even her less enjoyable books can still be pretty fun, and it's worth it to have books like Murder Must Advertise and Strong Poison, and the thrilling romance of Gaudy Night. But yeah, Carcase is a bit of a slog to get through.

For the OC ask meme:
đ§đŞđŽđđ°ď¸đ
for any combination of Remidee, Alexandria, or Sunset :3
WAHOOOOOOOOOO oh thank you so much. you know i love designing alternate outfits and coming up with random scenarios i'll never use again xoxoxo
some of yours other people asked for too, so i'll hold off on answering them!
đŞ (Mirror) - What would their Mirror World counterpart be like? If they are a Mirror World counterpart, what traits of theirs are reflected? Do the two of them get along?
for context, because i dont think people outside of artfight know much of remidee, they're an apothecary who deals minorly in fighting and magic as an aspiration. due to how injuries work in my mirrorverse, traditional medicine is in extremely low demand and basically not needed. mirror!remidee has leaned almost totally into being a fighter as a result. coincidentally enough, this also reflects regular remidee's worst insecurities for reasons that are a bit too wordy to explain right now
after the fall of shadow dedede's monarchy, they found themself in mirror floralia as a refugee. they're not as good as fighting as the rest of the army, but the queen isnt one to turn away someone so loyal and ready to dedicate themself to the kingdom. officially theyre in the army as a fighter of the same level of the sectra dees, but really theyve been designated as just the guy that brings the banner into battle
mir!remidee would scare the absolute hell out of regular remidee, for reasons they couldn't quite place, even though mir!remidee is actually quite nice. it's the existential dread, remidee....
đ°ď¸ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?
on the other end of the spectrum, dreamy gear remidee has leaned fully into being an apothecary, considering there's no need for fighting and magic is extremely rare. they keep a pretty nice shop in the town of wind (<novel lore, for you folks who don't know). they seem richer than the other residents or overly-well off at first glance, but medicinal ingredients are very difficult to get a hold of in this setting, and they're quite passionate about their work, so they have a lot of high quality supplies
dg sunset is a carrier pigeon, basically. child of single dad manager dedede, they help deliver mail. though they have a habit of getting into trouble more often than not on the job while jumping from rooftop to rooftop. remidee has a sense of disdain for dedede in this universe thanks to sunset's shenanigans
đ (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?
Sunset: i don't hc the mirror counterparts to be related to or have familial relations with their regular counterparts, but dmk would definitely be the fun uncle to sunset. both magolor and taranza get a thumbs down from her, not because of their past crimes, but simply because she thinks they're "kinda weird and annoying"
Remidee: i swear to god this has absolutely nothing to do with my own affinity for zan but remidee admires zan a lot. combining elemental magic with weaponry is notoriously hard in my universe, requiring a lot of skill and control to do. remidee is practicing spearplay and electric/beam magic, so this lines up very well. marx scares remidee a lot.
Alexandria: alexandria doesnt get any friends for reasons relating to her Themes. but im sure shed be extremely fond of kirby himself. gooey too i think! she also keeps her distaste for people well hidden, or is quite open minded--it's difficult to tell, so nothing for the "gets along with the least" part of the question either.
đŽ (Crystal Ball) - Out of all the treasures in the Great Cave Offensive, Kirby is letting your OC pick one from his stash to keep! Which one do they pick, and why?
#asks#kachikirby#dgp askgame#implied metadede#heyyy first main blog sunset mention from me! tyty kachi for remembering them dfkjghskdjgh that means a ton#theyre a metadede kid yeah but they arent canon to my verse#and generally i dont care to post abt them under normal circumstances kdfhgs#long post#my art#remidee#lady alexandria#oc: sunset

NEW CHAPTER ONLINE on AO3
Sneak Peak:
Genny is walking across the baseball field, lost in her thoughts and not paying much attention to her surroundings. She's thinking about tomorrow and all the things she needs to get done. But before that, she has to help Tim clean up his training equipment and then pick up Mat from her neighbors. It's a relief that she lives next door to an elderly couple who are always happy to look after Mat for a few hours. Being a single mom can be tough, but it's been that way since the last year of her marriage to Rob. Not that he was much help with the kids anyway, even when they were still together.
"Hey mum. Can Blake and I throw a few more balls?" Tyler startles her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah, sure." The two boys cheer and immediately start throwing balls at each other. Even now, after training, they still haven't had enough. Which is surprising, because Tim and Lucy chased the boys around the pitch so much that they were all dripping with sweat by the end. And yet, at the end of the training session, the boys were all happy and beaming. It seemed like they couldn't believe what they were capable of. Genny doesn't want to complain about Tyler's former coach, he had a rather cozy and familiar manner, not taking the job so seriously. It's not entirely his fault though, as he only took the job out of necessity, just like his predecessors apparently did. Tim and Lucy seem to be the first to have found an approach to the boys, if the parents' conversations in the stands are to be believed. And the two of them are an amazing combination. Tim, with all his expertise and the eye that you need to have as a coach. And Lucy, who has this likeable manner and simply knows how to deal with people. And apparently also with boys of this age. She even reckons that at least half the team have developed a little crush on Lucy. Judging by the giggles. And how they sometimes turned red in the face.
During training, something fascinating happened. Genny joined Lisa, Samantha, and Anne shortly after the start of training. She realized Tim would no longer need her. As time went on, more and more parents joined them, and a lively conversation about the two new coaches and the team ensued. The parents were enthusiastic, and Genny completely understood their excitement. She had seen many training sessions, but never one like this. Some parents even asked if the two coaches could continue, or if Genny could get them interested in doing so. Genny doesn't think the chances are high because both coaches have jobs that demand a lot of time and involve overtime. However, there's no harm in trying.
When she arrives to the sides where Tim and Lucy already started tidying up, Lucy is handing Tim a baseball bat, which he stows away in the front pocket of a bag. Genny kneels down next to the small trolley they are using to transport the equipment. She picks up the helmet lying next to the trolley and starts to help tidy up. Or rather, loading the equipment onto the small trailer.
She doesn't waste time; she gets straight to the point. There's no need to beat about the bush." I think you two should co-coach. You were great together. "
Tim's rebuff comes straight away: "Oh, no, no. I'm -- I'm ready to hand over the reins entirely."
She's not at all surprised. But Lucy chimes is right away, not letting Tim quit so fast. "Not a chance."
Genny decides that this is a wonderful opportunity to push the two of them a little. She is so curious and is almost certain that there is something going on between her brother and Lucy. It's all these little signs.
"No, but seriously. I saw today why you work so well together."
And indeed! Her brother starts stuttering. That never happens to him, except when Lucy is brought up, whether directly or indirectly." I-I ... It's just, uh ..."
So, Lucy immediately jumps in, as an attempt to save Tim from total self-destruction. "We spend so much time together on..." and immediately corrects herself. Which is totally suspicious. "... out on the job."
Tim can only contribute an "Mm-hmm." Genny has to be careful not to smile too obviously. Tim doesn't know where to look at all. She's hit the bull's eye. The confirmation of this comes when Lucy suddenly changes the subject entirely.

Ngl, I dunno if missed a post on the lore but...what's the ship name? I don't think I noticed/read abt it (I did read the lores but my brain's a bit foggy so a few details might've went over my head).
Now...*inhales deeply* I simply demand to know if Ace had feelings for you as kids? When was that moment of realization for him? What was the pining like? Who's more expressive when it comes to their feelings?
P.S.
I told you that I'd come sprinting for the lore.
fdjfnsdkjfn hi cyyyyyy- i still sprinted to your inbox first muwahahahaha
ace/nyla nation has two ship names: flaming pearls and then there's sea otters. sea otters came from hash talking about how cute it is that they hold hands to keep from drifting apart while asleep! and flaming pearls i picked because aside from having complementary emojis, i think of ace as a flaming pearl considering how pearls are made but also because he's the fire, i'm the ocean obsessed nerd
so you'll find things for the two of us under either of those tags uwu
i thought about just combining our names, but nyla and ace are both so short that i couldn't think of any pleasant to the ear combinations fjdnfkdjf
we both had mutual (albeit unrealized on both ends) crushes on each other as kids. my weirdness eventually charmed him as we became friends but i'd say he didn't really get hit with the crush beam fully until i told him i'd join his crew and that is kinda long so imma screenshot old discord messages i said about it
then like 30 minutes later, sabo and luffy show up and luffy just drops the lore reveal of the century that roger is ace's dad and he worries that i'm gonna change my mind (which i didn't even think that for a second). i do take off with luffy to stay with naguri for a week though because i don't want him to be by himself and it's when sabo and ace finally join in does he finally work up the nerve to ask if i still want to be part of his crew and i'm like "obviously đ¤¨why'd you think i changed my mind?"
but it didn't really turn into love until the luffy getting oneshotted by a bear incident, which is also gonna just be screenshots so this post doesn't get ridiculously long
like he wakes up and sees i'm still there and his heartbeat is hard at work
i'd say the timeline in general is
10 years old, me - the crushing starts 11 years old, me - gets shot by cupid's arrow recently turned 11 years old, ace - the crushing starts still 11 years old, ace - gets shot by cupid's arrow
we'll label it him falling harder but i fell first
the pining is... definitely not realized by other of us with us mutually considering our relationship a very close friendship because we grew up together and have been through a lot together. but underneath those exchanges is a very clear romantic undertone that even luffy noticed back when we were kids â ď¸(and that is just embarrassing. LUFFY? i'll see myself out) (if there's any consolation to myself at least, i do realize my feelings first and i do confess first. eventually)
the pining definitely differs from the dawn island era to the pirate era. back home, there was never really any 'competition' for each other's time and attention so there never really were moments of jealousy or anxiety, so when we're pirates despite enjoying the other being appreciated by other people, there's a tinge of missing for simpler times when it was just us in our little 'platonic' world back home
i'd say we're both even in expressing love in our own way during the pining and established relationship eras
one is riddled with lingering touches, communicative looks and shared grins... and one is riddled with all of those things but with more kisses exchanged here and there too uwu

Left Behind part 3 (Lucien x reader)
A/n: Im have decided something (drumroll please)! I dislike this perspective. Also this part was slightly rushed even if it came out later than the others (sorry).
â ď¸Â - meh
word count- 1200 (finally put a word countâŚ)
part 1 part 2 epilogue masterlist
*****
Y/n was going to be the death of him. When had she gotten so gods damned beautiful? Or she'd always been that beautiful and he'd been too blind to see it. No, that couldn't be it, could it? But Lucien sensed a new confidence in her, as if 15 years of raising a child alone had given her a new strength.
She smiled at him but it was guarded, not the joyful, carefree smile she always used to gift him. He had thrown away that gift like it was nothing. Lucien cleared his throat, "Shall we?" He motioned toward the kitchen door where the smell of tomato sauce could be detected. Y/n eyed him suspiciously before nodding slowly and starting toward the kitchen.
When they walked in Jurian and Alex were chilling at the table. Jurian smirked, "You two lovebirds are making dinner." He directed y/n to boiling the noodles and Lucien to cutting the vegetables. As Lucien picked up the knife to cut the veggies he glanced at Alex and Jurian. They were bantering back and forth, sending snarky comments to the other. Alex picked up a blade deftly and threw it at him so it speared his broccoli.
"Stop staring and get to work already!" He smirked and mockingly saluted her. His daughter, he couldn't hold back his smile. And she'll be a lovely emissary one day, he thought. True to his daughters order, he got to work.
*****
When making dinner, neither she or Lucien spoke until Vassa burst through the doors and saw their predicament. She paled. Alex jumped up and dragged the Queen out to presumably tell her what was happening.
Y/n glanced at Lucien to see him done with cutting and watching her intently. She looked away and finished boiling the pasta. Once dinner was ready shel left the males to serve it and went to find Vassa. She found her and Alex outside, talking in the gardens. She joined them while Vassa asked her, "How did you guys end up here? Alex is taking forever."
Patting Alex's head Y/n said, "I was searching for this one and I'd searched everywhere except here so I flew over and found Luci already here, talking with Alex!!
Both females turned to stare at Alex expectantly and she squirmed under their combined stares. "We... just talked, got caught up on 14 years of gossip I guess.
"Guys! Dinners ready!" They all jumped as Lucien emerged from the back door, a tense smile on his lips. "And um, Y/n can I talk to you?"
The others all looked at Y/n as she nodded and all but shoved them towards the door. "Don't wait to eat on our account" she called as the door shut. Turning to face Lucien, Y/n smiled at him tightly.
Lucien nervously grinned back and began, "look Y/n, I'm really sorry about 15 years ago. First I didn't know you were pregnant and I know that's not a good excuse or reason for you to forgive me. I'm not sure it would have impacted my decision but you need to know the day before I left I got a letter from Elain. It said that she was willing to try with me and give us a chance if I stopped seeing you. So I slept on it and left the next day because the letter ate off all my insecurities, like you would leave me because you are way out of my league. I know that's not a good excuse either but just let me continue, please."
Y/n smirked at Lucien. "Ya know Luci, I woke up in the middle the night and found the letter on the counter... but I didn't expect you to actually follow what Elain said. But go on." She crossed her arms and waited.
It was a good five minutes before Lucien throat could work again. "I loved you, I truly did. When I first got to night everyone was so confused to see me and when I told them about the letter Elain claimed she didn't write it and wanted nothing to do with me. I broke down then and Feyre comforted me through it all. We found out that one of my brothers had sent the letter as a cruel joke. She urged me to talk to both Elain and you, to work out my problems. So I tried to talk to Elain but every time she gave me the cold shoulder I thought of your face when I left you. The way I made you cry when I promised myself I would never do that to a female I loved. So for fifteen years I saw your face everywhere and I tried to build up the courage to go find and talk to you. This is the first time I've been outside the night court ever since I left you behind. I left the love of my life behind and I was too afraid to face the consequences of my decisions. But if you'll take me Y/n, I will be yours forever. I never stopped loving you and I never will."
Y/n watches as Lucien finishes and stares at her feet, she studies him, he truly does love her. She smiles knowing he's waiting for her to reject him and a small selfish part of her tells her to wait so he can feel some of the pain she felt.
After a good minute of silence Lucien looks up to see Y/n smirking at him. She stops smiling as they're eyes meet and she carefully leans forward and kisses him. The kiss is light, but passionate and only lasts for about a second, both Far relishing the taste of the other on their tongue. As she pulls away Lucien smiles and pulls her back.
Y/n grins, "Okay Luci but I need to make some things clear. First this relationship if we choose it requires both parties to be completely truthful about anything even relatively important. But Lucien if you are to leave again I don't think my heart could heal again. Besides we have Alex and if you leave, her heart is too young to break. And if you still harbor feelings for Elain then all of this is off and I'm not getting back together." She pulls back and looks at Lucien.
Lucien thinks for a moment before grinning and pulling her back into his arms. "I promise I will not leave you, not for Elain, not for anyone else. I think some small part of me will always care for Elain unless we break the bond. But I am yours forever."
Y/n smiles, "Good enough." They embraced as magic coursed between their souls.
Suddenly whoops rang out through the garden and someone slow clapped. Alex came running and hugged her parents. She smiled up at Lucien, her new father, and an evil grin spread over her face. âIâm so going to beat you in training!â
Y/n smiled down at her daughter, their daughter. âYou wonât be able to beat him if you canât beat me. And you cant beat me.â
Lucien smiled, eyes shining. And nudged Alex out of the way before smoothly reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box. Simultaneously opening the box and sliding to his knee he grinned up at Y/n.
âWill you give me the honor of marrying me, my beautiful Y/n?â
a/n: I think I want an epilogue⌠do yâall want one? Itâll be focused around Alex. Enjoy your day!
