Do you think you’ll ever get to writing a fic for the monster au? I’ve been thinking about it like a worm in my brain for weeks and I just want to hear more about the whole situation and dynamics like, are any of the characters “in” the cult? Do any of the characters interact in a casual way with one another? (like Mark and Adam or Thatcher and Evelin the ones that “don’t know eachother” yk?) do Dave and Thatcher still have that kind of “under the table vhs reviewer” dynamic? how much about the night Mark killed(?) Cesar does he remember is it like a blur or fully aware?

I am planning on making a prologue for the au, involving the night Mark went into the woods up to Cesar's death, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Also! those things will get answered, but probably by me just answering those questions before they get explained in a fic.

It... all seems a little much, though. Overwhelming, I suppose. Modern shops can be a little too taxing at the best of times, even when nobody is paying attention to me. And it's not as though I could take Jonathan with me—I'm quite certain he'd only find such an experience worse than I do.

Jonah shrinks into herself as she leaves the library to head home. The event is no more than a few days, but seeing the crowds of people make her nervous. There's safety in being an anonymous person in a quiet town, but that safety feels less than when she needs to wade through a crowd of strangers. Her eyes dart back and forth as she navigates through the crowd. The last thing she wants to do is make eye contact with anyone, but she's hyper vigilant to keep aware of who exactly she's passing.

When someone bumps into her, she flinches. A rushed apology is said in passing, but she can't manage to hear it. Her breath shallows as everything around her begins to sound like white noise. At some point she's stopped walking, frozen in place and unable to see straight. Her thoughts scatter into a mess. What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?

A flash of someone familiar enters her peripherals. Jonah's not sure if they even see her when she reaches out to them. Grabs onto their arm like some kind of life line. It's enough to snap her back into reality, but not enough to shake the nerves that's overtaken her body. "Sorry, I, uh... I'm sorry..." she sputters out awkwardly. She blinks and tries to focus on Calliope in front of her. Flinches again when someone brushes past too close. She doesn't know how to explain what's going on when she told her neighbor she wanted nothing to do with her. "I don't, uh, like crowds."

Jonah didn't like being pushed either when it came to things he didn't want to talk about so he could at least give her the same respect when it came to the approach. If she wanted to share more then he was certain that she would. "At least you're embracing it like a true champion," he smiled and then it faltered when he heard the tone in her voice that left no room for argument and just put the smile back on his face. "I think I'll go get a hot shower, wash the day off so to speak." @atrickrtreat

Daphne couldn't help but smile at Jonah, pleased at being referred to as a 'champion.' Given the horrors she endured as a child, paired with the workplace abuse she was often subject to, yeah, she absolutely was a champion. It was a fitting moniker. "Hm, thank you. It feels like the right approach for this stage of my life." She tilted her head, watching his expression shift in and out of that smile, opting not to question him about it. "I think that's a good idea, hon. Take all the time you need, I'll be here when you get out." Daphne kissed his cheek, not wanting to push too far with physical affection after the day he had. "Who knows, maybe if you're in there too long the food will be here when you come back to me."
