first off I am deeply pleased to be rambling once again over one of my earliest and beloved moots' fics

I have been biding my time to savor reading branchy’s very first (?!) fanfic works below and the best way to describe what it feels like to read KM is like watching an action movie but in writing - also once again fucking stunned by the fact this was her first fic; absolutely blown away by how many incredible firstfics i have read that rival published fic out there imho

reading: The Killing Moon by @deadbranch

I listened to the song ‘Killing Moon’ by Echo & The Bunnymen while reading this and it took me straight back to the 90s and thought of the hours of Charmed I watch for some reason...btw if a fic you read mentions certain songs playing in the storyline, highly recommend listening while reading for a full cinematic experience ✨

You notice the subtle change when he bites the inside of his lower lip as his gaze briefly drifts to your lips and back to your eyes.

also i am fuckin half in love with OC and her nicknames…typhoid mary, saint of killers (PREACHER REFERENCE!!), iron maiden, sorceress..there’s something special & intimate when you’re christened with a new name by friends/a group of people some odd ones I've had in the past are: bloody mary, albondiga, bringer of tears (thankfully not because of killcounts like dallas here) 😅🤭

“Do they all have different names for you?” He smiles again, his eyes matching the mirth his mouth betrays.  You try not to smile in response.  The last thing you need is to be thought weak, or stupid.  Or like you’re flirting with a superior.  None of those are a good look. “They do.  Did.  I’ve known a lot of people who didn’t want to say my name.”

branchy has a uncommonly talented trait of fleshing out so much history and worldbuilding through straight-up pure/raw dialogue where i can see hear & smell & sense the physical surroundings, the way the characters are holding their bodies, the tensions, emotions - all between several quotemarks! one of the reasons branchy is one of my favorite writers on this hellsite (affectionate)

i happen to be reading hunger games rn and dallas reminds me a bit of katniss - (they are direct, bold, present a flinty face to the world due to the harsh settings they’ve survived - yet despite all that, it hasn’t buried their humanity or hardened their heart that deeply just yet, and it breaks through not too far from the surface here and there)

anyway soft soap supremacy and back to thirsting, what was i saying…

..JUST KIDDING LET ME DO AN EXCRUCIATINGLY DETAILED BREAKDOWN of how much i love this scene of ghost seeing dallas again finally

literally just a few back-and-forth sentences’ worth of lore from the previous chapter and already fiending for the tension and drama of their backstory!!! the little things like dallas being able to pick up the difference in his voice, the mention of them entrusting their real names to each other, noting he touched up his eyepaint, the mention of LIMINAL SPACE!!!! (as an anthro grad I was and still am fucking obsessed with victor turner’s liminality and communitas and anyway am always soooo chuffed to see the phrase out in the wild) and anyway not really sure who to be more jealous of here, that dallas got to fuck ghost or ghost got to fuck dallas (yes yes why not both)

“I’m…sorry.  I’m so sorry.”  He says the words plainly, less gravel than usual, but with a pain you don’t recognize.  “I’m so fucking sorry, love.”  The last syllable breaks in the back of his throat.

Soap backs up another step as he works his way around the rec room, his mouth open, head tilted back.  You smile as only he can make you smile.

“Your hugs fix a lot of things.” You smile as your eyes meet his.

The timbre of his laugh is a delight, a warrior’s voice tinted with naivete and levity.  But he was always easy to cheer up. 

honestly when im not simping for soap i think he’d make such a great and easygoing friend, god i love the way cod writers have headcanoned him as such for the most part

Your face is unreadable as you let the smoke escape into the space above you.  The gilded ceiling leering at you through the haze.  Your dress uniform feeling stiffer and more unnatural by the moment.  A shroud more than armor.

i have definitely felt the itchiness of having to wear a fit, or a face (as have we all at some point) that didn’t quite sit right - but i am mostly glad for the experience of learning to see them as tools and costumes versus prisons and limitations. anyway im blabberin at like 243am which is why im getting vaguely metaphorical and philosophical lol

In the three months since your transfer you’ve gotten to know Price’s moods, what annoys him, what makes him smile.  You can appreciate that he says more with his silence than most people can say with words.  You justify your attention to detail by telling yourself you notice little things in everyone around you, not just John.  The old hypervigilance.  Or your excuse.

i love seeing price through the (heart)eyes of dallas 😍 a secret pleasure of mine is discussing what crushes feel like for myself and others and comparing and listening to all the different ways and reasons people fall in love - and also love the ways prices navigates his own bids for attention from dallas behind the veneer of professionalism 

The years haven’t erased the memory of his footfalls, his measured gait.

the disassociating panic/anxiety attack scene was…wow. as someone who's experienced them myself i found it viscerally a little too realistic (once again hats off to you branchy, incredible writing) but i appreciate how raw and real it is portrayed here…and ofc price’s little comfortspeech would probably cure all heartbreak if it was real

After my rant today I think we all know the one thing I want, NEED, to see is Shin apologize to Peach. I cannot stand the idea of Peach bearing all the emotional work for this relationship.

Cherry Magic 30 - So I'm coming at this from a place of knowing nothing about the originals. I'm really enjoying Karan just in general, his thoughtfulness, his care, all of it. He reminds me of a quote from episode 3 of The Last of Us: "Paying attention to things is how we show love." I'm also really enjoying the importance the show is putting on consent as well as Achi's care to make sure he isn't taking advantage.

I'm really going into this right now with no opinions, no theories, I'm just along for the ride. I hope we see some more cat thoughts, I guess.

Cooking Crush - I really wasn't sure if I was going to stick this one out. It's a little too goofy for my tastes but OffGun's chemistry is doing a lot of heavy lifting for me, so that's one of the things I'm enjoying. I'm also enjoying the playfulness of Ten and Prem and this cute courtship they have going on.

Last Twilight - You guys have seen my meta posts. I could wax poetic about this show all day long. Thus far I ADORE how they're treating Day's disability and showing how important him maintaining his agency is. I'm also really enjoying Mhok's perspective as a caretaker and the way he adapts and learns every day. I've been both - I'm currently disabled and I was a caretaker for five years. This show is so near and dear to my heart already.

I really hope we see what the hell is going on between Night and Day. Like, we have to, right?

Pit Babe - I'm an omegaverse bitch. I'm sorry, it's my guilty pleasure. One of the first things I do when I get the brainrot for something is go see if there are any good omegaverse fics (I'm very picky, we don't like misogyny or thinly veiled transphobia in this house, no thanks.) I'm enjoying seeing the worldbuilding of this show so far as well as each of the characters and their personalities. Everyone, even North and Sonic, feel like fully fleshed out people and I'm very much enjoying that.

I hope Way explodes - No, I hope we see them build more on the omegaverse aspect of things. I wanna see a man get pregnant. I also want to see a woman, just one woman, just a single one. Where are the women?

Playboyy - BOY HOWDY. Listen, I'm mostly watching this to avoid FOMO. I'm asexual, the sex is doing nothing for me really. The wet noises make me scream and throw my headphones off. I AM enjoying the mystery aspect of the plot a lot, I'm very curious where that is going. I'm also very much enjoying the exploration of different sexualities, like the hints that Soong and Zouey might be demisexual.

Obviously I want to know what the fuck happened to Nant, but I also just want to see more Prom. Also wanna see Aob become soft for Puen.

The Sign - My absolute beloved. I'm obsessed, I'm going to be obsessed forever I fear. The mythology is just fucking superb, the yearning is incredible, the action is great, the friendships phenomenal. I could go on and on about everything I love about this show. It's everything to me and I know I'm going to be a WRECK when it inevitably ends.

I can't wait for Phaya and Tharn to fuck, sure, but I can't wait for them to be in love. I can't wait to see them hold each other gently, look for reassurances in each other, and I hope they each regain at least some memories of their past selves and maybe how much they loved each other.

Ok aight ok aight I've caught up with Witch Hat Atelier so time to spill out my jumbled throughts past midnight before I pass out:

Art: 10 outta FUCKING 10. Like come on, you've seen the panels, it's just amazing. Character- and costume-designs, creature designs, environments, panelling - everything is top tier. Easily one of the most beautifully drawn manga out there. My only real criticism is that the characters veer a little too much into twink territory, but surprisingly enough there still is some decent variety among side- and background characters.

Characters: mmhhhh 7/10? I'm not blown away, especially by the child protagonists. Agott did grow on me over time but Coco as well as the two other apprentice girlies really aren't doing it for me tbh. The adults def are better, and yes I have become an Olruggio simp (we stan the resting-bitch faced male-wife with a secret soft spot for kids), it has predictably come to pass. Rn I'm still waiting on a proper Orufrey flashback and in general for Qifrey to be fleshed out a bit better. Like yeah we all know he sus as hell but I wanna know what his goddamn deal is.

Story: currently 8/10 with potential in either direction. There is a LOT of stuff being set up and ngl I am a bit worried that not all of it will be adequately addressed. I have been burned by similarly ambitious stories of this overall genre before (experiencing TPN flashbacks) so I am definitely wary.

Worldbuilding: 9/10. Honestly almost perfect! I absolutely love the themes being set up here with the completely arbitrary separation of people into witches and non-witches, the monopolization of power for the supposed purpose of the greater good, the question of how far humanity should be allowed to go in the pursuit of knowledge and progress... there really is some amazing stuff being laid out here. All this is not even to mention how great the magic system is, though sometimes I find it a bit hard to suspend my disbelief at some of the supposedly 'novel' inventions (like you're telling me that nobody before Coco thought of making a water-purifying jug?? And that people would not IMMEDIATELY want to have this kind of thing in their homes unless there's the added flourish of the water making pretty shapes?? Bruh)

Final verdict: I'd overall give the manga a final score of like 8/10 - very solid set-up so far but still too early to judge whether it will actually stick the landing. I'm def gonna keep following along and holding out hope

I will say I read fic pretty often. I usually check the tags of whatever I am into at the moment one/twice a week after I have worked through the most popular fics and then everything else. I try to read as much as a I can when I enter a new fandom, and then whatever new catches my eye. I usually read before bed, which is dangerous, because then I am awake until 4am sobbing into my pillow. Lmao.

Writing.....is chaos. I like to listen to music while I write. But I do not have a "routine." Last week I wrote 3 fics/11000+ words total on a whim. This week? My brain is soup. So.

I have ADHD routines are hard etc etc

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

sorry for talking about this fic so much like a crazed fan but I lowkey AM a crazed fan. passing notes by mississippiwriterinjackson. whew boy. I am so soft for love letters/notes. this fic felt like it wrapped itself around my heart and squeezed. so lovely.

also I keep coming back to To Lose You by Wilmaa. I am executing them for their crimes. this fic was so fucked up. and so delicious. they started it last year and I bullied them for months to finish and upload it. and now I spend much of my time crying over it. amen.

the comments on my last bayojeanne fic which included such gems as "I was close to throwing up" ; "I need you to atone for your sins as soon as possible." ; "I don't wish this kind of situation even on my biggest enemy DAMN" ; "This is the gayest version of homophobia I’ve ever seen" ; "Thank you for sharing 5,689 words of gay hate crime"

in terms of actual fics I do not have answer rn I have been reading a lot of angst recently

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

THIS FIC was/is my white fucking whale. I am still not happy with it. I love love love the concept so much but I just couldn't stick the landing. people were/are so kind about it but man. I really struggled on portraying a realistic development of bayo and jeanne's relationship. aughhhhh.

💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language

CHARACTERS. ALWAYS. I will read pretty much anything if the characterization is spot on. (Saint, your fic Your Soul Was Never Yours is a perfect example of this - I struggled a bit with the abstract structure but the characterization was so fucking good that I devoured it and have re-read it multiple times).

I do not care if the plot is generic I do not care if the language is perfect I do not care if the world feels a bit iffy. I am there to giggle and twirl my hair over the characters.

This goes for original work too. If your characters are strong I will be invested. I do love world building and plot, and people who can write purple prose well drive me insane (/pos) but characters are everything to me. If your characters are boring I will not give a damn even if everything else is AWESOME.

I will say when it comes to fic.....formatting is perhaps more important because I just straight up don't read anything that is poorly formatted. If you upload one huge paragraph I am so sorry but i am not reading. Or if you don't use quotations " " for characters speaking. So. Maybe formatting is the most important to me lmao. Since I have a no tolerance policy for it.

I'm probably gonna put quick thoughts on Bluesky and my super rambling stuff here on Tumblr. So ye. Also, I guess this would be a good post to put in what media/games I'm into and actively follow.

Twisted Wonderland: What a shocker. Certainly, I'm gobsmacked. But I've been into this game for 4 years so y'know it's kinda consumed my life :D

Lord of the Mysteries: Super into the characters, story and worldbuilding. My favorite characters would be Klein, Leonard, Emlyn, Audrey, Edwina Edwards and many, many other characters so I'll just leave it at that. Also like Leonard and Klein together a Normal amount.

Hatoful Boyfriend: It's so good guys. There's not much fandom right now, but the characters invade my mind every once in a while. Love love love Holiday Star. This was my first foray into the otome genre and what a banger to be introduced to.

Undertale: Permanently altered my brain chemistry and influenced my morality. So yeah a really important game for me with characters I adore, secrets abound and a heartfelt message delivered in a charming way.

Deltarune: We're still in Chapter 2 but I'm interested to see where it's gonna go since with the first two chapters we can already see some building blocks Toby's putting in place to expand upon and blow our minds with. So excited about that.

Arcane: It's such a trip and I'm currently going though it

Kingdom Hearts: Oh I've listened to many summary videos and later went through the game's story myself which was fun. I would say my favorite storyline is Kingdom Hearts Union Cross. Am also eagerly awaiting for any Missing Link news.

Gravity Falls: Saw it for the 1st time in 2014 or 2015 and it's just so good that I don't think it'll ever be away from my mind.

Honkai Star Rail: I do have some critiques and problems with Hoyoverse, but even si I am enjoying Star Rail and hope it keeps on fleshing out the characters and the Pathways. Also recently played the Wardance event and Luka is best boy rn.

Currently experiencing Persona 3 Reload and am enjoying it IMMENSELY. The characters and their relationships are fantastic. I love when there's banter and character dynamics.

Minecraft: Formed my early internet years and I will always love it and have a soft spot for it. Both for the Youtubers who played it in their own chill way and how it truly gives freedom to the player and serves as an outlet for creativity

Shining Nikki: Been playing it for around 2 years and yeah I can say I like it. Might play Infinity Nikki when it comes out

Hi, me again. I have a long string of numbers from the ask the author. I thought that I’d go through and type out a couple that I’d like to know about and that ended up being most of them, don’t feel pressured to answer all of them. 1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?

I am only capable of writing 1 story at a time so I’m basically holding off on uh everything until this blog is done. I am very excited to get to write more for my other AUs. Like my “New eden” au which is like the sides happening to meet at a specialized inpatient and there’s loceit and rem(2) and angst and stuff. And I got 2 others i’m excited for bc they’ve got lots of worldbuilding and i havent done much of that in my writing but when i made those AUs i realized i really dig worldbuilding. I am planning on letting y’all vote on which of my AUs should get an askblog when this story is done btw

2) what work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing?

Jfkfk the one stucky fic i wrote at like 12. In 1 chapter i put in a self insert and had cap validate my non binaryness. Apparently i thought it was so embarasing i have deleted several chapters from it but i dont remember actually doing that

3) what order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?

Front to back babeyyyy always. Sometimes i scribble down a future scene so i dont forget it but otherwise its all first scene to last

4) favorite character you’ve written

I really did enjoy writing Roman as Jaws in my James Bond au just bc it was such a stupid concept. I also have a soft spot for my son Envy. Before Remus existed Envy was my green side. He was also a gremlin. I love writing dogs <333 Thomas as a dog <3 Roman as a dog <3 Virgil as a big fluffy service dog <333 

7) when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?

I usually tell people i write. Usually not that i write fanfic

I guess drama? Slice of life? Romance? Whatever you call this. I have written action and thriller stuff as well but i prefer this. I just love angst 💗💓💚🧡💛 even whump 😈 and some good comfort

I ramble with my beloved best friend 💚 our brainstorm sessions get so ridicolously long. For some aus like the New Eden one the plot would look Completely different if it wasnt for him. I probs wouldnt have expanded it so much

I always have to have music on or i cant concrentate. Cant even sit in the same room as other people while writing if theyre chatting loudly

Bro i used to over explain everrryyythhing. I know i still ramble a lot and put in way too many details in my writing but somehow i used to be even worse!! I also was one of those who wrote like "The boy with the round glasses said" instead of just saying their goddamn names

12) your weaknesses as an author

Uhm everything? Jk. But i really do think that writing in of itself isn’t my strong suit. I always feel like i use the same words too much. The same metaphors. Same flowery texts. My grammar isn’t good either.

If i would have any strenght it would maybe be uhhhh concepts? I’m shit at writing but i do like to think i can come up with some interesting concepts for stories? i like how many times I’ve made the sides into a literal dog in my AUs. thats fun i guess. maybe my strenght could be uhh funny?? people say im funny sometimes?? i dunno in my opinion i think im pretty average. nos trenghts

19) when it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?

....I.......I just remember it.......in my head...I know, i’m horrible. I have tried to write up timelines but it never works for me. Sometimes I use the brainstorms with my bestie on discord as a type of timeline but most of the time I do just keep everything in my brain. Which is stupid bc my memory sucks

20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts?

I really wanna say i prefer longer sit downs but the thing is my attention span is shit so it usually becomes me “writing” for like 3 hours but half the time was spent watching youtube

Not that I can think of. When i’m writing im in control of what happens obviously so things that make me dissociate or super uncomfy if i saw it in my day to day life dont have any negative effect on me bc im the one writing. Tho one thing i stray from writin nowadays is eating disorders

24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?

Girl ive looked up the most random shit. Different types of mazes, hotels in kentucky, etc. But really i wouldnt say im an expert on these things but i appreciate how much fics have made me learn about different disabilities. i do have chronic pain and some other shit which has made me put in disabled sides in my fics but its not like i have fibro or im deaf or have a brain injury so i have to read up on this stuff and it’s genuinly fascinating to learn. My fics have also let me learn a lot more about different cultures, in this AUs case i’ve learnt a lot about judaism to write the twins C: i would love to write romani sides in the future bc my family is partially romani but until i do that i like putting in that jewish rep. the fandom needs it hfkjhf

Ok so from what I've seen of my very pleasent stroll through your bountiful analyses (analysi?), I'm very much liking it (my apologies, words aren't my strong suit even though I've spoken English my whole life), I was just wondering if you have any thoughts on how the elves don't have much music from what I've heard? (It's the heathen who hasn't read the books :D) And that just... Seems unlikely to me, or boring. Music is a very important part of who I am and my daily activities and to just have a world where it.. Doesn't exist seems improbable or repressed, especially since making noise is a simple basic of social creatures (assuming that's what elves are)

I'm glad you like the analyses because I love doing them!! and I still have almost 40 asks to answer rn (despite me answering several, I just keep getting more!! not a bad thing tho) so there's definitely a lot more to come.

I do have several thoughts on this--just to prepare you for my blog as you are new, I have thoughts about everything all of the time! it's actually been hilarious to see people switch from asking me "do you have thoughts on this" to "what are your thoughts on this" because I just have so much to say about everything.

but onto your ask: from what we've seen (based on the little info we have about the song family) is seems like all elven music is instrumental, no words at all. or if there are words (I don't remember there being words but it's not impossible), they're more soft and gentle. it's like their music is in tune with nature and the natural world and doesn't explore the possible creativity in it. Instead, it's all lumped into one category of sweet and perfect and pleasant in a way human music isn't. yes, human music can be like that, but it also has such a wide variety of sounds and ways to express yourself. I think with elven music it's less and expression of yourself and more of showing off the fact you can play music, like it's a skill to show off instead of personally meaningful outside of the attention it can get you.

looking at that brief interaction where Grady asks "is that...music?" (paraphrased from book one) when Sophie is listening to her angry playlist, we can assume that the lost cities doesn't have anything intense when it comes to songs. note: maybe the reason we haven't actually heard any elven music in the series is because it's so boring, as you put it, that no one actually listens to it often.

like you, music is a huge part of my life and I'm constantly listening to something whether it's on a speaker, earbuds, or just my phone. I have music playing as I'm answering this ask, and sometimes I even listen to music as I read. If I walk out of my room rn I can guarantee that my dad has a speaker on in the living room and is listening to the music on the radio. Music is such an integral part of the human experience--and Sophie herself listened to music frequently before coming to the Lost Cities.

It seems like one of those worldbuilding details--in this case it's an enjoyable activity/profession--that got pushed to the side to favor all the other aspects of the world and it's drama. Shannon's explanation for cutting a lot of things is that is slows down the story and draws it out (as seen in all the deleted scenes she's shared), so I wouldn't be surprised if elven music and just listening to music in general is one of the things that got cut for that very reason, if it was even added in the workplace. However, i do think it would've strengthened the world more if it had been mentioned in like a sentence or two throughout the series, just a reminder that music exists because it is so integral to so many of us. Even Shannon herself has playlists she listens to when writing the keeper books that she's shared! Or if it's not included, a brief explanation as to why music isn't important to the elves.

Off the top of my head I can theorize that maybe music is viewed as something that's only for special occasions, like dances and ceremonies. Or maybe it's seen as not special enough because it involves used of the body (to play instruments and sing) and not that of the mind. But those are just personal theories trying to explain a gap in the world.

Overall I think it was just something Shannon omitted for simplicity when writing, as music can be seen as a minor thing. it's just that it happens to be a very big thing for a lot of us, so knowing the music exists and seeing it portrayed in such a different way without explanation raises a lot of questions.

I'd personally be very interested to hear what elven music sounds like or how it's treated!! I wonder what kind of instruments they use and if elves sing. just so many questions!!

:OOOO I WOULD GIVE MY LIFE FOR YOU.... (for real thank you I’m super out of it rn, assignments have me fucked up) this is goin under a read more because I am going to go OFF

who’s friends with who? what are the squad dynamics like?

okay so with my ocs let’s start with C9 in general! the entire session has a sort of tense vibe with everyone together but it’s the type where they all know if they need to they can rely on each other. it’s just the situation making them all volatile.

for squads Aila has her moirail squad with two of my pal’s ocs, Lyla and Kodi, and it’s just all comfort there. Lyla and Kodi make sure that Aila doesn’t go off and fume by herself when she’s pissed off, Kodi and Aila make sure Lyla’s not just staying in the depression hive that is her room, and Lyla and Aila make sure Kodi doesn’t hide away and sew for hours when he gets upset. it’s mostly a “get the fuck over here and socialize instead of dwelling on every bad thought” crew but sometimes it’s just about sitting in the same room as someone else. and sending memes to each other. she also considers Dukkel a friend, but that vibe is more of a “Dukkel is manipulative and Aila is too volatile to be effectively manipulated” sorta deal. they hang out though and genuinely enjoy each other’s company so I’m counting it. she’s also pals with Joel (not mine)- she does think she has a crush on him? but she’s always real unsure of these things. either way she likes being around him and he likes being around her. that vibe is “awkward but in a cute dorky way”. also friends with Hurlii (also not mine) but they’re... dating?? hate-dating??? they both refuse to pin that down but they sit under the stars and vent a little bit to each other and get out their emotions and it’s cute. I’ve written about them cuddling before it’s adorable. her and Louise swap memes sometimes so y’know what that’s a friendship too. and she talks to a group of horrorterrors who gossip about her sessionmates with her. Aila has a lot of connections because she’s the Session Leader and also she’s tiny so everyone goes “:O a baby....”. sort of the same way you let your little sibling hang out with you and your pals because they get so excited about it.

Hope is friends with a DIFFERENT pal’s oc, Kori. their vibe is also comfort and chillin. Kori reassures Hope that no, not being able to talk to people is not bad and people don’t hate you. Hope listens when Kori talks about timeline stuff and helps her take precautions to soothe her anxiety. they’re also the alchemiter squad figuring out how to make new objects all the time. they stick real close. Hope’s also pals with Kodi! Kodi actually mediates between her and Aila. Hope can cut loose a little around Kodi and ends up with a surprisingly carefree attitude around him. things are a LITTLE awkward between them but they’re buds. Kodi keeps her in check. (Hope’s also friends with Lyla, kind of? they’re hate-dating but they are so soft for each other.) she used to go play poker with some SBURB constructs but :( no more.

Fantra is moirails with Panda (just assume if they don’t end up with their own list they’re a pal’s oc okay) and they vibe. there’s a little more flirting than necessary in their friendship and they DEFINITELY cuddle. they’re actually really adorable. again, I don’t know if dating counts, but Fantra’s dating Lyla and they’re cute but still sort of figuring things out. Fantra gives Lyla all the attention she asks for and it’s adorable.

Dukkel is sort of friends with Aila but I already talked about that. she doesn’t have a lot of friends other than Ails, actually. it’s. kind of sad? but he doesn’t really go out of his way to befriend people. she has more connections, just not... positive ones.

NOT ALL OF THE ALPHAS ARE FLESHED OUT SO I SWEAR THEY HAVE MORE CONNECTIONS BUT

Mell is pals with Dott and they’re fucking chaotic. I adore them but oh jeez. Mell’s the Responsible One and she’s not responsible at all she just used to pick Dott up from parties and then hold her hostage to help redesign furbies. they’re great. actually, the entire alpha session is great because they’re all in a D&D group. Mell sometimes chats with Cole and thinks he’s alright but also a huge NERD and jokingly makes fun of him for it. Cole doesn’t mind because he is, in fact, a massive nerd. (also Mell ends up dating Lyla it’s a whole thing don’t worry about it they’re adorable)

outside of her session she’s friends with Orca in a sort of “hey this kid needs more friends. now they’re the designated little sibling of the squad” way. she teaches them cool new horrific crafts. Mell just can’t let them sit there when their two friends are busy smh come join in craft time and also here’s how to play D&D. it’s real nice!

Cole is dating Peri! they co-DM in oneshots and he fleshes out NPCs while she worldbuilds and it’s adorable. they’re soft and sweet and cuties. also chats with Mell as I said before!

ALTS: the session as a whole is messy. everything runs fine but it’s less a team and more a bunch of people forced to work together. they’re pretty good at doing things they don’t want to do, though, so gg.

Enny’s friends with Juli. Juli calls her out on her bullshit and Enny holds Juli accountable for her own messes. they’re more functional than they look. Enny is also friends with Kods (not Kodi. alt Kodi.) and they consider themselves siblings even if the specifics are a lil wild. they threaten each other but they don’t usually mean it. they care about each other. also they shared a creepypasta phase that tbh Enny never got over. she’s also kind of pals with Jess but in a “thank you for helping me keep these guys in check. in return I will not swear at you” kinda way and just. mutual understanding of being stubborn when it comes to working at things. 

outside of just the alt C9 crew (and delving into SPACE PIRATE TERRITORY): Enny’s also pals with Cece (yet another pal’s OC! the only pal mentioned that technically doesn’t work on the Official C9 Stuff but whatever I love him so much. all of the ones mentioned “outside their session″ are his <3!!!!) even though they stopped hanging out as much. Cece taught her how to paint and have a decent hobby and Enny appreciates it every day. their friendship is dear to my heart. makes me feel nice. Enny is friends with Tate too! they roomed together on the spaceship and even though they aren’t too talkative with each other sometimes that isn’t necessary. also kinda pals with Jody? they don’t hang out too much but Enny secretly thinks she’s a friend. they’re the short Light player squad. too curious for their own good. it got kinda hard for them to talk to each other in person because of an incident but Enny still thinks she’s cool and nice. and there’s Echo! Echo’s her friend and therapist who taught her how to talk about her feeeeelings. which is VERY important. everyone say thank you Echo. Enny enjoys his company and y’know it’s sometimes (SOMETIMES) nice to be totally open. hard but nice. well. it’s complicated. but thank you Echo. .....ENNY IS ALSO PALS WITH [REDACTED]. in “canon” right now they’re “rivals to acquaintances” but they have pet names for each other so what is the truth. they’re very cryptic and trade information but that means Enny’s actually very honest with him so they’re. adorable. they care a lot about each other and try to help each other when they need it. it’s so cute. I’m soft for them. they’ve always had a certain level of respect for each other and I VIBE WITH THAT. love me some respect and comfort in this house. also they totally cuddle.

Deuuuux is friends with Juli. Juli may be blunt and harsh in her humor but Deux vibes with it. she knows she’s just being snarky for the sake of being snarky. they hang out and it’s all very cool and fun. also pals with Kods, but that’s a LITTLE more strained. they still hang from time to time but it’s hard for Deux to tell when he needs his space. also hate-dating Jess but no, actually, they end up being like “wait this is stupid I don’t think I actually hate anything about you. which makes this just dating. ...heck yeah.” Jess keeps tabs on Deux’s volatile mental state and Deux makes sure SHE’S doing okay. like hey take a break. you deserve good things too.

outside of the alt C9 crew Deux is close with Wynn! they have a more sibling bond than anything else. found family. added onto this because Deux actually has a real squad, holy shit, is Echo! Deux is the Official Captain, Wynn made the spaceship they’re on, and Echo is the ship advisor. Deux goes to them when she wants a second opinion on things, which is a lot of the time. Echo is constantly side-eyeing Deux’s depression. it’s hilarious and I love them A LOT. SO MUCH. Deux and Wynn are also the ship chefs, though Wynn more so than Deux. I choose to believe they work on recipes together but that’s just me. Deux is also friends with [REDACTED 2], even if it was shaky at first. they bond over their annoyance at [REDACTED]- and they both get the feeling of being overworked and then looking over at other people goofing off. like damn, a little help here please? they’re so tired. Deux is so tired. someone give her a break.

West! is not C9, technically, but they’re still mine so :P. West is best friends with Fern and they game together. they like to try and fuck up games with West posing hypothetical glitches and Fern pulling them off. also they just hang out and it’s all fun times with them. West is also kinda pals with Alex- sometimes they hang and Alex gave West his old glasses for them to pop out the lenses and wear so that was cool of him. they just vibe and Alex thinks it’s nice that West appreciates their humor.

outside of their session they’re friends with Ulfort and Hazel! they’re a squad. Ulfort is the Responsible One, Hazel is the Bad Influence, and West is the Impressionable Chaos Enabler. I love them all. they goof and have a good time but also worry about each other and that’s real sweet. also Enny and [REDACTED] but in a parental figure sort of way so I’m only including it here and not in Enny’s- also because it’s only in certain aus. also only in certain aus is their friendship with Orca. they bond over similar excitable traits and they started out a little rocky but they’re friends!

Hazeee is also best buds with Fern! sure Haze is crushing on Fern but that doesn’t mean they aren’t pals. they support each other emotionally and also they’re totally both furries. like Fern COULD show her fursona to West and they’d support her but it’s not their interest so they don’t really know how they’re supposed to react so Fern and Haze get the fun of a mutual interest. Haze is also pals with June- xe’s Haze’s right-hand. June helps advise Haze and proposes new ideas and also teases Haze for crushing on Fern. it’s all in good fun though.

Fern is just pals with West and Haze and they’re both her best friends. no she will not rank them. she shouldn’t have to.

outside of her session sheeee’s totally in love with Ulfort and Rita. interacting with Ulfort she’s likes to try and make him flustered a lil bit. with Rita she’s much more shy about it. it’s so cute. she thinks they’re both very very pretty. this is still only in certain aus because otherwise they don’t interact... ...unless? hmu my boyyyyy show me the canon we could have had/can have [eyes emoji]

June is best friends with Alex. they thrive off their differences but June enjoys getting to just have FUN with Alex and Alex loves having support from June. they hang ALL THE TIME. they support each other and tease each other and make sure they know where the lines are. June’s also pals with Haze as mentioned above!

outside of xir sesh June’s pals/something else ;) with Orca. but like. only in certain aus. they’re. how do I describe this without getting into the aus. uh. they’re cute as hell okay? Orca spoils June and June lightly teases Orca and they’re adorable. they care about each other so so much.

Alex is besties with June and pals with West. yes he plays favorites :P.

Theo and Fate are best friends and found-family twins and they’re chaotic as a duo. Fate describes emotions to Theo and Theo describes colors to Fate and that’s adorable but Fate’s encouraging Theo to make horrorterror deals and Theo’s like what if I abused my god tier powers instead and it’s CHAOS. I love them so much. no one else they’re all they’ve got babey!

Luca is dating Elli and Julius (who are also dating) and they’re a squad all on their own. Elli and Julius are weebs and Luca makes fun of them for it but he’s the one dating them so rip. Luca loves them both so much but him and Elli have more of a “childhood friends” vibe (because they are) and Luca and Julius have a “flirt vs one very pretty boy” vibe (because that’s exactly what’s going on these aren’t vibes these are just what’s happening). they’re all ADORABLE. none of them have any other friends but specifically Luca doesn’t because he’s mine and he’s lonely. rip.

Orca is pals with/dating June as mentioned above! and pals with West! and friends with Mell!

I’m not gonna get too into the SBURB 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO squad because the friendships aren’t entirely fleshed out but Pistol and Spike are friends and Spike’s totally crushing on Pistol and it’s cute. they’re cute. I rest my case.

1. Tell us about your WIP!

Which one lol, I’ve got many of them. Too many. Really. That, coupled with the fact that I am a slow writer because I keep getting distracted and procrastinating (like with answering these asks,,,,) means that pretty much everyone on this site will die of old age before I finish like any of them :’D

Anyway, I guess I’ll give brief summaries of all of the�� main ones. This is gonna be a long one, fellas! I guess in the order I came up with them? Or the order I’m pretty sure I came up with them in.

TT: My original story I’ve been low-key working on and reworking since… 2012…? It’s a fantasy story, and it is… way too long probably. Also needs a lot of work. Worldbuilding and character building and plot building… At the moment, I guess I could summarise it as, our world gets wrecked for some reason, and the main characters, these two girls, who got saved into another, fantasy world with like… a bunch of other survivors, leave the Earth-refugee camp and get tangled with like, politics? Of that world? Well, politics and then eventually like, a war type thing… I didn’t say it was good, and I did also say it needs a whole lotta work. I’m pretty happy with some names younger me came up with though! Also it has dragons, so. Yup.

Fantasy fanfic: I am very good with names, as you’ll come to notice. Anyway this is a.. Hetalia fantasy fic..? I came up with in, like, 2014. I’m not actively working on this one at the moment, but I would like to maybe write it one day, and my most beloved OC originated in this story, you may have seen me mention her in my tags? I haven’t managed to come up with a name for her, but I call her the Asshole Goddess, because she’s a goddess, and also an ass. So.

Anyway this one’s pretty cliche, and it’s like, an absurdly large cast of Hetalia characters ending up in a fantasy world, where a bunch of other characters, who’d gone missing earlier, have apparently been taken to? Then it’s a journey to find and get them back, friendships are formed and magical things are encountered, but uh oh! They’re mortal here and can die! And many do. You may note I was 14 when I came up with it, so. Well. It is quite edgy. Had some good concepts though!

Kingdom AU: Great with names, as I said. This one is also a Hetalia fic, because that is the fandom I’ve been stuck in forever, though mostly just because I’ve so many fics for it. This is the odd one out in my fics though! This is like, a royalty AU of an rp AU me and my friend made by accident one time? The RP, not this AU, this is all my invention. It’s really just for me and my friend, since it’s based on that strange RP and the main thing in it is like and OC x canon character ship? That’s also why it’s the weird one, I don’t usually have much romance in my fics because I’m not big on ships and just prefer gen stuff, but this one is like primarily romance? Lots of pining. And it’s very soft. And I love this AU with all my heart. It’s also got a whole lotta angst!

Basic plot is the more or less classic, kinda cliche, peasant girl goes to get a job in the royal palace to help her poor family and meets the crown prince, and they become friends, and slowly fall in love.. Except, well, this is weird also in that the end point isn’t them getting married or confessing their love or anything, that’s like...Maybe the midpoint? There’s also politics, kinda worldbuilding? It’s set in like a 1700s type setting, I think, And while it’s not really a fantasy world since no magic, it’s not like, a real world setting. Anyway, yeah, this is near and dear to my heart.

The Home Front Fic: This! This is the one I’ve been trying to work on lately! It’s about life on the Finnish home front during WWII, and yes this is uh, also a Hetalia fic. Sorry. Though to be fair with this one and the previous one everyone’s probably gonna be so OOC and the setting is so different they might as well just be original works lol. Anyway, it’s a human AU, and also had a lot of OCs for that reason because it’d be tough to make a story of this scope with like. Three characters.

Basically! Tino is a 8, soon to be 9-year-old boy living in the Finnish countryside in 1942. His dad’s gone off to war, as well as the farmhand they had at the farm, and his mom and grandma can’t take care of the whole farm by themselves. So when they hear a nearby factory and some other farms in the area are getting extra work force in the form of Soviet prisoners of war, they decide to ask for one, too. They get a worker, his name’s Ivan. It takes some time, since they’re technically enemies, right, but eventually Tino befriends him and slowly he kind of becomes a part of the family… But you know what happened when the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union ended in September 1944? :) Well, I’ll just say that Stalin did say “There are no Soviet prisoners of war, only traitors.”

This one also has angst. But it also has found family! I like it a whole lot, I wish I’d written it already, but I have been having such a hard time starting it. :(

That BNHA Fic: I can call it that because I’ve only got one so far! So this is a My Hero Academia fic, and hmm. I haven’t talked about it too much, but I do like it, even though my focus has been pulled back to the Home Front Fic again. I do wanna write this one!

So this is like a future fic? It’s canon divergent because some stuff happening in the manga rn is not gonna work with the plot, I guess it’ll diverge at least from like… all the New Year’s chapters? I don’t remember what the number is.

Anyway, the main character is Eri, who’s been going to like this boarding school meant for kids with volatile quirks. She wanted to go there herself when some years ago her quirk had gone bonkers, she thinks? Something like that, she doesn’t remember that well anymore, but anyway, she’s going to apply to UA! Just the Gen-Ed, her quirk isn’t any good against robots. She’d love to be a hero, though, she knows so many heroes and she just wants to help people, but her quirk is no good. :( Anyway she’s back in Musutafu for the summer break in her last year of middle school, and she meets Mirio and Aizawa at the train station, and they go around the town meeting everyone! In the entrance exams she meets Kouta, who for some reason doesn’t want to be a hero though he’s got a really good quirk for it, and he’s proud of his parents who were famous heroes! They both get into UA, and she manages to convince him to try to get into the hero course through the Sports Festival, and he does! She doesn’t get that far in the festival though, because even though she’s practiced using her quirk, she’s scared to use it on people when in battle and stuff. Anyway, she’s very upset about it, and when she tells Mirio about how she wants to help people, but can’t, because her quirk sucks, he gets this look on his face and later tells her that he knows someone who could help. They go to meet this scarecrow lookin’ dude, and oh wait, is that All Might?? Why’s he refusing to help her out from Mirio’s request?? And later, what’s this One For All Mirio’s talking about?? And whose kind arms does she keep dreaming of in her sleep??? 

So yeah. That’s the BNHA fic. One more WIP to go!

Space Fic: Back to Hetalia, and this is technically an older fic but I decided to someday actually write it just recently. So it’s my Historical Human AU No. 3. It’s based on a space facts video fact, where it said that in 1963 Kennedy had proposed the USSR and US go to the Moon together, and Khrushchev had been meaning to agree, but then Kennedy died and the plan was abandoned. This story idea was like, but what if they’d gone through with it? And then, because why not, what if they’d included other countries as well? And this WIP was born. It’d be like, the main characters would be representatives of their home countries, sent to take part in the program and they’d all be candidates for going to the Moon, but there’d be only 3 spots on the rocket so like, they’d kind of have to compete for the spots? And the ones that wouldn’t pass would take part in the mission on Earth. So then there'd compete, there’d be personal drama, their personal relationships would be affected by the relationships between their home countries, but overtime friendships would be forged, and they’d all just become… one big ole found family. A space family. A big ole found space family. And the Overview Effect would also play a part. This is kind of on the back burner, this’ll need lots of research and the Home front fic also needs a lot of it, so I’ll try to.. write that first, I guess? We’ll see.

So that’s all my WIPs. There are other fic ideas that I haven’t put much thought into yet so they’re not on the list, but yeah!

8. Do you have any writing buddies or critique partners?

I don’t have any one person who I’ve talked to about all of my stories, but I have discussed my stories with a few people! Both online and irl. I’m also on a couple discord servers that are for writing or where people talk about writing, even though for the most part I’m too shy to talk much on any of them ;u; But the people who’ve been awesome enough to listen to me ramble about my stories have helped me a lot!

12. Which story of yours do you like best? Why?

Aaaa, don’t make me choose between my children! ;__; I love them all,,,

Well, I am very fond of TT, since it’s my own original story and I’ve worked on it the longest… Then again, the Kingdom AU has a lovely aesthetic and those two pining idiots in it… But also, that BNHA fic has some really nice plot and character moments? But also I’ve spent so long researching for the Home front fic and it’s got my boys in it! And the atmosphere in it is so nice, and it has found family,,, But then also… Space??? And even the fantasy fanfic has the Asshole Goddess in it?? And a nice storyline with Liech?? See I can’t choose ;_;

To be fair, the story my dumb brain takes interest in changes every now and then, for example lately I’ve been mostly thinking about TT, the Kingdom AU and the Home front fic, so I guess those would be my favorites at the moment? But a couple weeks ago I was really into the Space Fic, and at the start of the year it was the BNHA fic. So it depends! But I do love them all.

52. Who do you write for?

Well, primarily probably for myself. I do often find myself in a situation where I’m looking for fics or books to read but none of them really click, and then I realize I’m looking for my own story. Which I haven’t written. So that’s definitely a big one! Then, to some extent, I also write for the people I’ve rambled about my fics to, so they might maybe someday get to experience the whole thing through something other than just my ramblings :’D But mostly for myself, I think.

Hmm the first things that come to mind are my fanfic drafts... orz but other than that, I have around 10 AO3 tabs open on my computer rn and 5 on my phone :U I’ve been so busy with my own writing that I haven’t had much time to read any long fics recently u_u

Uhhh I’m a writer??? Ahahahha.

6. Do you like karaoke?

Yasssss I like it. I just went for a karaoke session on the 29th! It’s the reason why I’m in a Mayday 五月天 mood recently woops.

7. Have you ever gone to a live concert?

Yup! I went with my family to a Taiwanese band’s concert in August this year, & I’ve been to Super Junior’s concerts when they came to Singapore! Waiting for them to come back here, tbh ~ Also I used to play for orchestra, so I went for live orchestra concerts too heh.

8. What gets the most of your attention while watching anime (ex: the story, the characters, the ships, the art, the sound part, etc.)?

I’m super picky I think... Storytelling, worldbuilding and plot are the most important, of course. Characters should be memorable, at least. Art and sound are a plus. Ships wise, uhm. It doesn’t really matter unless the ship makes me feel uncomfortable. I’m used to my ships not being canon anyway, so ships don’t take much precedence here.

9. Do you like taking pictures?

Yes~ I really like photography even though I don’t have a good camera. I’m usually the photographer in my group of friends... but I’m super awkward when photos are being taken of me lol.

10. Do you have many social networks? Which one is your favorite?

Oh, tell me about it. I use Facebook and Instagram and Whatsapp and Telegram to talk to my rl friends. And I have Twitter, LINE and Tumblr for fandom. My favourite’s probably Telegram?? I love Telegram stickers lmao. But I use Facebook and Tumblr and Whatsapp a lot more than the rest. 

11. Have you made friends on the internet?

Yep I have. *looks at all my tumblr mutuals, which includes you :D*

1. Are you committed to playing a game (mobile, videogame etc), or do you play it for a while then delete it?

I play it for a while and delete it. Or rather than deleting it, I just leave it and never come back to it. My attention span’s pretty shitty when it comes to games lol I can make it at most two weeks before I get bored.

2. Sports or no?

Nope. I used to play sports when I was in primary school but I kind of lost interest?? Didn’t help that I was in a performing arts cca, always sitting in an airconditioned room huehuehue. And when I was in junior college I injured my knee pretty badly so ever since then I’ve tried to go easy on the stress I put on my knee lol.

3. Are you a soft toy/plushie type of person?

I used to be! I sleep with a bunch of old soft toys but my parents have banned me from getting any more. Also they make me sneeze a lot lmao

4. How do you organise your charging cables? Are they in a big mess or do you roll them up nicely etc?

HA HA HAH AH AHA HAH. Okay I only have two charging cables for my phone, one for the wall charger and one for the portable. I just ... leave them there?? Earpieces though... ever since I lost my tangle-free JAYS, my current earpieces always end up in a big mess even if I try to roll them up nicely.

5. British or American English?

Singlish. 

... Okay I think I use British?? I don’t even know which I use tbh? Like I write ‘colour’ and ‘favourite’ but sometimes I write ‘revolutionize’ other times I write ‘revolutionise’ lol why am I like this orz my editors for the campus paper scolded me so many times for this exact reason

Notebooks and art prints/posters!

Sleeping, eating, writing, reading, rinse and repeat.

Wow two social media qns in this tag thing! ;o Like I said, I use a pretty wide array of social networks... each network has its own purpose, I guess? Facebook for collecting photographs & news updates, Twitter for... I don’t know what I do on Twitter besides scream about fandom, Instagram for being pretentious and curating pretty images to show off to people I don’t care much about, Tumblr for fandom trash, Whatsapp and Telegram and LINE to chit-chat talk cock sing song talk to my friends (tho I do use Tumblr messenger to talk to my Tumblr mutuals too lol).

NOPE I get grass rash................................... screams I like playing in the rain though! ........ when I’m right outside my house and can come right back in to take a shower immediately afterwards u____u
