How Smith-Shimano sounds touting the fact that they're technically the major corpro most in line with Union's Utopian Pillars despite doing all that shit.

we've all seen the jokes about Raphael and clonefucking but what if we talk about Raphael and Clone. welcome to my TED talk, here's how Raphael can still win-
(don't take it TOO seriously, i'm just offering some info/lore/mechanics and whatnot from d&d that could be interesting to consider, for fics or headcanons or whatever else this might be useful for lol)
anyway onto the post. so while idk if 5e has anything particularly specific or definitive about this (knowing 5e probably not, though I haven't read descent into avernus so idk if they have more fiend lore in there) going off 3.5e cambions are just defined as another name for half-fiends, which the MM says are typically outsiders with the native subtype - meaning they can be "raised, reincarnated, or resurrected just as other living creatures can be". huzzah, this means they have souls (imo). presuming the same holds true for cambions in 5e, since 5e also just defines them as the offspring of a fiend and a humanoid, i don't see why Clone wouldn't be an option for Raphael. it's only 8th level (surely there's a few 15th level wizards out there), the material component cost is only 3000gp (for a diamond and a container for the clone), and once the clone matures it "endures indefinitely" as long as the container does; when the creature dies its soul transfers to the clone with all its memories, abilities, and personality (but none of its gear, so we still snatch his diary) + the body's physical remains don't disappear if they aren't destroyed, so the orb vision we got about Meph munchies still tracks
the only potential issue is that in order to transfer to the clone, the soul of the creature must be "free and willing to return", but idk why anyone would have a claim on Raphael's soul to prevent it from returning. since he clearly deals in other people's souls a lot, he would probably be pretty careful about not letting anyone else get their hands on his! (plus he makes a point of saying he's a devil not a cambion when talking about himself, he wants to act like he doesn't have one at least 😂)
Clone lets you make the clone look like a younger version of the creature as well (nooo dont make your clone look like a younger version of yourself Raphael you're so sexy ahah)

Traveler: Then after we cross the burning plains of Natlan, we're gonna reach the freezing plains of Sneznhaya.
Paimon: The burning plains are next to the freezing plains? I bet there's some pretty wet plains in between.

I was looking it up because we were curious about if there's a word for it that has more common use and. How has the endogenic community coined thousands of terms but they don't have a word for "another world experienced by a system such as through walk-ins, gateways, or headmate past lives"
Feel fee to toss me something if I'm wrong because there is no way we are the only system in this community to just string together something like "exoworld"

you ever click on an article quoted in a tumblr post because you wanna verify that it says what it purports to say, and while reading the article, youre like okay, its odd for an article published in 2023 to be relying on a 2016 stat that is surveyed by a government body annually so you click on the link to that and instead of taking you to the 2016 survey, it links to a dissertation written in 2022, but okay whatever its probably quoted in this dissertation, so you ctrl F and type in the stat to make sure and okay it does so you scroll down to the references so you can just copy and paste the survey reference into google scholar, but the survey isnt in the references, so you scroll back up and read the paragraph the stat was quoted in to see that this dissertation is quoting the stat from a different paper that quotes it, so you take note of that paper and scroll back down and okay theres two references that match this, so back up you scroll and its not made clear in the paragraph which of the two theyre quoting, and oh my god do i have to read 15 pages of this dissertation to be able to figure out which quotes the stat from the survey, 15 pages, mind you, of the dissertation that an article - that i was originally reading to verify a tumblr post - sources for a stat taken from a government survey rather than the survey itself.

There's a lot in this article that matches what I've seen myself. Two points in particular: I've gained appreciation recently for churches' potential for working in slightly extralegal ways. Is that good? It shouldn't be good. But currently I know some religious-based organizations that are often more trustworthy and effective than government-funded organizations. I wish that were not the case because it is fundamentally a problem. But I've gained a lot of respect recently for some churches.
Another bit, with a distressing quote:
Support for deportations is so strong that the Texas State Government offered Donald Trump 1,400-acres (567 hectares) of land just outside Rio Grande City to build detention facilities for undocumented migrants - a controversial move the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Texas described as "mass caging" that will "fuel civil rights violations". While the patch of land - nestled between a peaceful farm-to-market road and the Rio Grande - is currently quiet, officials in town believe it could ultimately be a boon for the area. "If you look at it from a developmental way, it's great for the economics of the city," Rio Grande City manager Gilberto Millan told the BBC. "It's got some negative connotations to it, obviously, being a detention area," he said. "You can see it that way, but obviously you need a place to house these people."
The worst and most terrifying thing about this is that his last sentence is true. I'm sometimes roped in on a bit of housing triage for immigrant families, and there's SUCH a crisis right now. I worry that we are not far from seeing facilities like this in many parts of the country, for housing asylum seekers and other new immigrants, out of the sheer lack of better housing options. I'm not talking about what should be or what could be, in terms of housing, but what currently is, even without mass deportations. By housing triage I mean, like...needing to prioritize finding safe beds overnight for a family with young children vs. for a young man on his own.
I don't fucking know, I'm not an expert. But this is already here.
....Fun meetup with a friend/former colleague yesterday, and we were chatting about the office located in the main branch of the local public library system. One of her steadfast volunteers is getting really worn out going there to teach, because of the dead bodies around the building. That's relatively new this year--I saw no dead bodies while I was working at that location a year ago--and I was raising my eyebrows and she said "oh yeah, I've seen so many dead bodies." Combination of addiction support and housing failures plus a cold winter, I assume. (I don't know how many is "so many." We live tame lives. Spotting any dead bodies at all outside the library is not normal, and I'm guessing two or three is "so many," but I'm a little afraid to ask.)

so kafka's design got me thinking of the handkerchief code that wikipedia tells me used to be popular in the 70s with bi and gay men.

there is really no reason for this little bit of fabric to be hanging out of her shorts. therefore I propose that she's adopted this trend into her outfit.
she wears her "handkerchief" on the left, which is to signal that she's a top and/or dominant, and purple means she's interested in "piercing" according to Larry Townsend's "The Leatherman's Handbook II" (1983). so. do with that what you will.

I made the mistake of going 'oh I'll edit my thesis proposal over Thanksgiving break! I had a buttton of detail in the outline already, all I need to do is shuffle the section that some stuff is in and then restructure a couple sentences!'
....anyway I have only straightened one page out of nine out so far. I am suffering. I have not even gotten halfway through this section, but at least it's the longest section of the bunch and all of the others are like a third of the length.
(it's due next Friday whoops)
