i'm not "undiagnosed" i'm largely headcanoned as neurodivergent but with no confirmation in canon. i hear a showrunner said something at a panel last year but it hasnt been leaked on youtube yet.

I think what makes Batfam fanon different from other fandoms I've been in (and more annoying) is that canon itself is a game of telephone. No one is going to read every single comic ever, as much as someone may want to, and not everyone wants to.

Therefore lot of people learn canon through others talking about it, so when people start to talk about fanon, they assume (some of) it is also canon.

The fix to this is literally the fix to any other type of misinformation¹. Ask for sources. Ask if things are canon. Read more of the source material. Remember primary sources (comics), secondary sources (people talking directly about a comic they read), and tertiary sources (people talking about a secondary source OR things with no source)

Ofc I know very few are gonna put in the effort for just a fandom. I just like reading and research and information and the study of misinformation and-

1: keep in mind I said misinformation there, not disinformation. I'm not accusing anyone of purposely trying to write off fanon as canon. I'm just accusing people of not asking questions.
