I've sort of said this before but how the Light treats blessings is just. So fucken funny.
Tirion gets excommunicated but still gets the divine interventions in his favor every other weekend. Even when he's dead he's still getting blessed. Why? Who fucken knows.
Whitemane gets manually rezzed by the Light every time she dies as its favorite war criminal until she's stabbed with holy weapons and then the Light wants nothing to do with her and lets her be raised as a DK.
Darion received a holy vision from the Light to go see Tirion so he could impart the wisdom of "kill yourself" on behalf of the Light.
The Light refused to help Alexandros, its strongest paladin in the Third War, until Darion killed himself for some reason.
The Light turns Calia undead for.... ????? I read Before the Storm through at least six times and I don't remember if they ever gave a reason.
The Light just LET a dreadlord lead a holy order without striking it down. Do you know how many people died because of that choice?
Anduin survived the bell incident thanks to the Light but now it zaps him every time he has a negative thought.
The Light does not even bother annihilating Arthas when he's fighting Uther despite the fact that Uther is literally the Lightbringer and it would've been so fucken easy to do so. It just lets Uther lose. The Lightbringer. The first paladin.
Just in case you forgot the Light saved Tirion from drowning in fel so he could just die slowly later for no reason.
Turalyon lives in a paradox where his wife is an evil heretic to the Light and wants her dead but if she was dead Turalyon would've been killed ages ago because the Light does not bother to actually save him from shit. But also Turalyon can't die of old age because the Light won't let him.
The Light works in mysterious ways I guess.

✨Why Paris is such an Utter Plonker✨
Tumblr media
(2014: https://greekmythcomix.com/comic/why-paris-is-such-an-utter-plonker/)
This little ranty Paris infographic is also a two-section video over on my YouTube channel: an explanation of the comic and then a detailed literary rant, with evidence, expanding on all these points. An essay, if you will, on Paris’ Plonkerness.
Enjoy!

"For they report that the Spartans were hard-pressed by a famine and asked the god for the reason. The oracle responded that they should propitiate the gods of the Teucrians, Khimaireus and Lukos. So, then Menelaos left for Troy to complete the tasks he was assigned and after he spent some time with Alexandros he went with him for the purpose of asking the gods about the creation of children. Alexandros also asked about how he might kidnap Helen. The oracle responded to them: ‘Why do two kings, one Trojan and one Greek / why do you come to my temple with completely different intentions. / One of you seeks to discover the birth of a horse / but the other…..; What are you devising now, Zeus?’ When they failed to understand these things, they returned." (Schol bT Ad Il. 5.64)

"Okay, I think this might be a problem," he said, crossing his arms and tilting his head curiously. "How exactly did this happen? Because it doesn't seem like it's even possible."

Something about Alexandros' death being borne of treachery at the hands of his own son, and how in unlife he was thrown into the Maw at the hands of his fellow baron, once again betrayed by one he trusts deeply.

Something I think a lot of us forget when studying the Trojan War is Helen being a Spartan woman who is explicitly said to have been wrestling with other Spartans when she was taken by Theseus.
NOW IMAGINE: Trojan War AU where Paris tries to kidnap Helen but instead gets folded like a waffle by the young Spartan.

"Priam’s child Alexander  left Asia and went to Sparta with the plan of abducting Helen while he was a guest there. But she, because of her noble and husband-loving character, was refusing him and saying that she would honor her marriage with the law and thought more of Menelaos. Because Paris was ineffective, the story is that Aphrodite devised this kind of a trick: she exchanged the appearance of Alexander for Menelaos’ character to persuade Helen in this way. For, because she believed that this was truly Menelaos, she was not reluctant to leave with him. After she went to the ship before him, he took her inside and left. This story is told in Nikias of Mallos’ first book" (Schol. V ad Od. 23.218)
Ok I'll say it if nobody else will: this most virtuous, most faithful, most chaste, most perfect housewife version of Helen is, honestly, pretty damn boring.

Paris: It's easy to be mean about Paris. 'Ohh, he started the Trojan War,' 'ohh he should have known kidnapping Helen was a bad idea' 'what a fucking idiot' but do you know him? Do you know what was happening? Imagine you're a random farmer, best known for making cows fight each other and giving Ares a prize for beating your cows despite him arguably cheating. Three goddesses come up to you and offer great prizes -- prowess in battle, dominion over Europe and Asia, the most beautiful woman in the world -- if you pick them as the fairest of them all. Do you think it would have gone any better if he'd picked Athena or Hera? What do you want from this poor candy-ass of a man?
Sinope: Reviews are mixed on this girl. She was either the mother of Syrus by Apollo, or she tricked Zeus into letting her be a virgin forever. It's difficult to find information or images for her, so instead enjoy this scenic landscape of the settlement that bears her name. Ace icon, would rather be left alone -- she tricked Halys and Apollo the same way.

Alright, now its time to laugh at the slightly-younger-in-this-video-but-still-old man playing JE with Alexandros:
dailymotion
I don’t think he’s terrible at video games tbh…this whole video is a bit of a mixed bag, though, so I’ll let ya’ll decide lol
…i am nowhere close to good enough at Japanese to attempt much translation other than token words lmao. But one of the funnier things I can hear for sure is in the darts portion of the video; when they’re making fun of Shomura Satoyasu and they keep calling him 下手 (Heta) , which is “unskilled” in this context. and スポーツ下手 (Supōtsu heta) which would be “bad/unskilled at sports”. If you listen close, one of the members of Alexandros actually calls Kimura 下手 when its his turn 😋.
