Idk man I just think Guinevere would see the child within Mordred that saw death and those who wished him harm far too young so he did everything he could to survive, and relate to that far more than anyone else in their general circle could. Not even Arthur, who while he had shitty upbringing, he did at least have an upbringing. Whereas she knows what it's like to have all family be dead and be left only to the wastes.

I wouldn't call it a soft spot, but I only say that because I don't think there is any part of Guinevere that can qualify as soft. Even with her partners, who are undeniably the people in the world who she cares about most, she's harsh. Quick to call them her loves, but even quicker to tell them to purge their feelings or play down their pain ("quit your whining, Arthur, or your wounds won't heal"), all while jumping at every opportunity to elevate her position by speaking of those she killed and her power. But I do think there would be an amount of care there, for Mordred. Even if it's just because she wishes there was someone there to give her a better chance at life, and it'll make her feel a bit better to play the role she never got for someone else.

She's not soft over him, but she is him, in a way. Just thirty years older and now with a life she can proclaim with her whole chest is one that actually makes her happy. And he's her too, just a hell of a lot younger and with ideals the world has yet to kill. Both of them wished for the world to be softer to them, when they were trapped in their own respective darks, but of the two Guinevere is the only one who actually has a chance to be that bit of relief in the world for the other.

Hello. Finale thoughts.

Devastated, obviously. But it was the right ending. Realistically, the only options were a) make all the ghosts move on b) make Alison and Mike move on c) kill off Alison and Mike (which they wouldn't do with a baby).

It's an important sentiment. The ghosts love Alison dearly, and Alison loves the ghosts dearly too. She turned down a substantial offer on the house for them. They're family.

But they cannot go on living together. The Coopers need their own space, for their own family. It's not goodbye forever. Alison still visits the ghosts regularly. But for the good of everybody's health, they need to live apart.

It's heartbreaking, but it's painfully human. And on a show that, for a comedy, explores human nature so delicately and astutely, it's the perfect ending.
