Hey, so did anyone else notice that Blitzo and Stolas DIDN'T actually end up resolving any of the true underlying ISSUES that wound up destroying their relationship this episode?

As in, yes Stolas saved Blitzo's life and Blitzo took Stolas in, but did they actually communicate or discuss or even just TALK?

No? All we got was Stolas barging in, taking the fall for Blitzo without any input from him followed by Blitzo taking Stolas likewise without any input?

Uh, yeah. Stolitz shippers? I wouldn't rest easy if I were you.

Cheeeful as could be, Blitz nestled down into a pile of debris, wiggling down so he could snugly lodge his spines, then grabbed a few little pieces of the more porous stuff and cheerfully crunched on it for a moment, before swallowing.

Blitzo makes a show of rolling his eyes at the hellhound's comeback, but he can't really argue with her. He had used to do the same, back when he had been younger, especially after the accident that had sent him living in the streets. Damn, he had even staged pickpocketing so that he could get rewards by retrieving the "stolen" goods and earn a good reputation in the process.

The hard truth is that either you're born with enough resources to go by without taking advantage of others or you do that until you have enough to get by without stepping that low. Survival relies little to no morals and they all know that down there.

He's ready to dish out some rough wisdom, to call "bullshit" what she has said to justify why, of all people, she has picked him to "help", but that's when he notices how watery her eyes have gotten. The sight alone is like a bucket of ice cold water dumped on his irritation, successfully extinguishing it against the imp's will.

It's inevitable, he can't help it. His adopted daughter has never been this sensitive and he has never once witnessed her feeling contrite, but he still can't help picturing Loona in the young woman's place.

"Satan, just...just take it. If not for a drink, then for whatever you want. I ain't gonna do anythin' great with the cash anyway."

And isn't that a shameful truth? He sucks at handling whatever extra money ends up in his hands. He might have learnt to prioritise the truly important bills, but when it comes to use any extra? He's still the same guy who has stolen Verosika's credit card, so that he could waste money on horse-themed crap. The only difference is that, these days, he's aware that he has a problem.

Not that it makes it any better in his eyes, despite what some might argue.

"I'm still keepin' half of it for my daughter, but the rest...I don't need it. You do, if this is what you gotta do to earn a living. Been there, done that." He shoves the bills into her chest with more insistence. "And for the goddamn record, I wasn't askin'. I was tellin' you to keep it, so fuckin' keep it."

The remark makes Olivia frown instantly. She hadn't thought at all the imp couldn't get his wallet back because he is an imp. Truthfully Olivia had thought the imp couldn't get his wallet because he hadn't noticed due to a blind spot or distraction.

It wasn't a thing of weakness or skills. It was a thing of being cheated out of their cash and Olivia thought she could help the imp, with a little pay on the side for her good deeds. Nothing is free in hell or that's what her father had always reminded her when she decided to venture out to the other rings.

Unfortunately the big horned imp didn't think so... and Olivia felt a pang of guilt. A reminder of their status as hellhound and imp.

"I thought I'd help ya without havin' ta get yer hands dirty, sir. Easy stuff, ya know? It's nothin' ta do with bein' who are ya." She grumbles. A quick flick of her wrist and her teleporting magic could've brought the wallet back to his hands. Then he wouldn't have to worry about replacing any IDs or calling annoying card companies.

Hearing the wallet didn't belong to him didn't comfort the hellhound and she lingers on what he says, wondering what had caused such a reaction. Yes. This is hell. Almost everyone here is cruel without purpose and Olivia had her moments of falling under the emotions of the seven sins too. But not once did she think an imp, even a stranger, would assume the worst of her actions.

Her papa did warn her that there was a difference in species but she had thought maybe imps and hellhounds had a mutual understanding being at the bottom of the ranks. Helping each other and assisting each other, with equal pay and respect if it meant so.

The thoughts consumed her and Olivia shakes her head at the imp, blue eyes turning glossy and giving the stranger an upsetting look.

"Thanks but I don't want the cash." She mumbles and starts to explain why. "N-Not cause yer an imp an' I think ya need it more than I do--- 'cause I offended ya an' it would be rude ta take it from ya now. It wouldn't be right. I d-don't want a drink. Ya keep it, sir."

Even the 4 year old comments of the Stolas call video you liked mention how Stolas was watching and knew Blitzo was in danger. One even brings up the possibility of Stolas altering a bullet's trajectory to save Blitzo.

yo. anyone notice Stolas' hand glows red right at the end before he says "enticing" and there's red around that bullet hole in the tree? My dude just saved Blitz so he didn't shave his nuts for nothing. [@ username of someone who said it was just the lighting] yea but remember stolas can see blitzo through his bubbles so he could also be seeing where shes shooting and helping to deflect the bullets!😊

To which many agreed, even up to a year ago! It has over 600 likes and 1 only sceptic reply.

Woah that's a very good observation right there you could go further , by extension (no pun intended), that all the shots fired were deflected or centered towards blitzo to put him in a situation where, when Stalos was asking him for his "favor", Blitzo eventually decided to say "fuck it, I'll do it" realize that, if Stolas does have the ability to protect him in any way (as it is assumed) , he could have deflected all the shots that were fired... Holy shit!

The fact that this is even a possibility — especially since that hand glow was never given an in-universe reason — is insane since it's the very same scene people so vehemently claim is 100% consensual for all parties.

And then there are other comments that feel like relics of a saner time. Besides the ones that say Pinkham fits Stolas better because he makes him sound gayer and "cute uwu" which is... A take with no off implications whatsoever and should not have been the foreshadowing it is. But at least people can tell Stolas is sketchy! I'm assuming these were written pre-LooLoo Land but if it wasn't I am so proud of these people for not forgetting his horrid behaviour just because 'sad dad moment'.

Is this why Blitzø installed a silent alarm made for Stolas? The minute I heard Blitzo say "Stolas!" I was like "Uh oh XD" Everyone in this show swears as casually as drawing breath so what in the world does Stolas say that it needs to be bleeped? 0:18 That wasn’t just a poorly timed call... Stolas was Scrying on Blitzo to offer that deal when he wasn’t in a position to talk back. 0:48 The ONLY reason the arraignment can be called “favors for favors” is simply because of how massively it works to both parties advantage. -Stolas, prince of hell, king of manipulation XD Blitz agreed to that arrangement Why is no one talking about this? -Sounds less like an enthusiastic "Yes" and more like "sure, fine, whatever, just shut up and let me be" -[@ above reply] Okay fair I'm just wondering if that's going to hit him later and then he's gonna freak out -[@ above reply] oh definitely I feel bad for Blitzo and Stella, he just wants to keep the book and his company's going, I understand that what hes doing with Stolas is Just "business", but stolas is just too pushy. I like to think Stolas actually has all the spells in the grimoire memorized and is just using the situation to get dates with Blitzo - If Stolas doesn’t need the book then it would explain why he isn’t so worried about it - That would explain a plot hole Stoles is stil doing his Job and not post posing it to one night a month wich is even shorter than that if Blizo keep his end of the bargen even for a demon that must be impossible. - That is more or less the reason for Stolas. He just wants Blitzo to give him that "Passionate Fornication" at least once a month. - From what we've in the season two opening, that's extremely possible. It shows how much he loves books, so he probably does know all the spells - Or that was some kind of punishment for stealing 😂😂😂

Even as soon as a year ago people were giving Stolas more consistency than the show. Why wouldn't a book-loving nerd memorise his spells? Why would Stolas only ask for sex with someone he supposedly cares about beyond sex? Why was Blitzo's stealing completely ignored narratively except for one snippy line that it is completely possible to read as unrelated to that moment? That comment chain especially reeks of people desperate for a well told show that makes sense, that has consistency.

It's always a double-edged swords going through comments from saner times like these. On one hand, you come away with proof that things really were saner back then and it's not just a case of everything looking better in the rear view mirror...on the other, it's proof of how far things have declined. Mention that Blitz's consent was obviously coerced nowadays and they'll call you homophobic.

WHO WANTS TO HEAR ME RAMBLE ABOUT GAY FURRY DEMON SEX? XD

Okay...so I see some Stolitz confusion and bashing online and I need to type up a defense here because I won't be able to sleep otherwise lol

I consider myself to be a Ship Critic and someone who takes shipping rather seriously.

What I mean by this is, I like to analyze and break down romantic relationships between fictional characters because it's just interesting to write for me. I especially take delight in friendly debating with opinions that I strongly do *not* agree with.

Let me start off by saying I am NOT a "this ship is awesome because gay furry sex lol" type of girl.

FAR from it. I'm generally more passionate about hetero ships between human characters (because I can relate to them more) among other reasons. So if you wanna dismiss my defense as "shallow fangirlism", you can forget about that lame excuse.

I fell in love with Hazbin Hotel when it was finally released in February and suffered waiting for each new two-parts per week. During that time, I decided to watch Helluva Boss as well, after a friend showed me a particularly soul-crushing clip (Moxxie's childhood trauma about his mother).

Yes, I like funny sex jokes as much as the next goofy adult but scenes like this, scenes that carry a very heavy emotional weight are what really get me in the end, even moreso when VERY little dialogue is exchanged. I knew I had to watch the entire episode run after seeing that the creators had a talent for this.

I saw people asking:

"How did Stolas go from using Blitz as a sex toy to being painfully in love with him?"

Oh I can tell you. I can tell you the EXACT moment this is revealed. But it's not spoon-fed to you; it's quite subtle actually and this is why lots of people miss it.

See, one of the strongest talents Vivenne has shown me is that she REALLY knows how to get her characters to communicate their feelings to the viewers JUST from their expressions and body language. These can be 'blink-and-miss-it' teeny little scenes and it may require a couple rewatches.

But since people demand time stamps for all information others post here, I'll rewatch a few scenes from S1 E7 'Ozzie's' as I'm typing this.

'Ozzie's' remains to be not just my favorite episode of HB...but probably my favorite episode of any adult-targeted animated show outside of Japan (aside from S2 E7's Mid-Season Special)

It has this huge reveal for both Blitzo and Stolas.

We'll first address Blitzo's irrational, stalkerish behavior of Moxxie and Millie.

He's obsessed with them. He finds both of them very attractive, fantasizes about threesomes with them and is constantly inserting himself into their personal lives.

Why?

Because they have everything that he badly badly wants for himself.

They have the perfect marriage and he is trying to live THROUGH them.

This was hilarious to me at the beginnning of the show but it's slowly revealed that it's one of the most tragic and depressing things I've ever seen. And it's scarily realistic too.

But you know this already so let's move on...

Blitzo follows the couple to Ozzie's but he can't get in without a date. So he calls up Stolas and yes, this is very low but he doesn't realize how much this means to Stolas (hell, I'm not sure even Stolas realizes it himself!) but the owl man is giddy with joy, he rushes over and they enter Ozzie's.

When Ozzie and Fizz mock Moxxie for being so sappy towards his wife, this strikes a chord with Blitzo (because they're his IDEAL relationship) and he speaks up to defend them.

NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION; THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART:

Fizz, still holding onto his past grudge turns on Blitzo to humilate him:

"Some nerve you got commenting on a relationship"

Time Stamp: 11:37

As Fizz says "-ship", Blitzo VERY QUICKLY makes eye contact with Stolas who has a look of panic on his face. Blitzo is seeking VALIDATION from Stolas in this sharp, subtle second of screentime, as if to ask

"Well, ARE we in one?"

And then what happens next...Stolas remains silent, Blitzo's ex joins in to announce how selfish Blitzo was in bed with her, tearing him down further. Stolas stands up like he's going to put a stop to it but then Ozzie notices him and interrogates him about sleeping with Blitzo.

Blitzo looks incredibly ashamed and guilty as Stolas blushes with similar feelings...and hides his face behind his menu; HIS BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE SERIES SO FAR.

Time Stamp: 12:24

The look on Blitzo's face as he grits his teeth and darts his eyes away basically says

"Yeah, I should have known...boy am I an idiot for trusting him to stand up for me".

(look how SHOCKED he is...wow, this hurts fr ;_;)

This is a silent betrayal on Stolas's part. Afterall, his reputation is on the line, so if he were to defend Blitzo, it confirms they are in fact, dating. He chose his pride over Blitzo and Blitzo is crushed by this betrayal.

Moxxie finishes his song and kisses his wife tenderly. Stolas watches this and also wants to have an affectionate moment with Blitzo (who is rightfully glaring daggers at him) and tries to reach for his hand.

Blitzo rejects his touch and suggests they leave. As they do, Blitzo still looks furious and hurt. Stolas is now realizing how badly he screwed up with a "What have I done?" face (13:41)

He even looks disappointed with himself.

After Blitzo drops Stolas off, he thanks him and tries to smooth over the awkwardness with sweet talk but Blitzo just rolls his eyes in disgust and pulls on his face like "I don't want to hear this bullshit".

He responds coldly and curtly, "Yeah." Stolas makes more suggestions to spend time with him, which just makes him even angrier and he snaps

"I'm not fucking you tonight, okay!

I'm really just..." (14:28)

he pauses to wipe a tear because at this point he can barely hold it together (top notch voice acting and animation directing btw)

"...not in the mood, Stolas."

Stolas still tries to talk him into doing couple things unrelated to sex.

Blitzo's face switches back to anger and frustration because Stolas isn't getting the message so he goes for the blunt tactic;

"Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but YOU wanting ME to fuck you, okay?"

(14:42)

"You make that really clear all the time."

(again his voice sounds like he's about to break down)

"But I-I just can't do it tonight, okay?"

(Finally meets his eye)

"...I'm sorry."

I believe this is code for "I'm sorry we're even in this situation and how your reputation got damaged. " Or, more painfully, "I'm sorry I'm such an embarrassment to you".

Stolas replies "Okay" and takes a deep breath to compose himself. They say goodnight and depart.

An important note here is that Stolas calls him "Blitzo" instead of "Blitzy" to show more respect.

As Blitzo zooms away coldly, Stolas looks up at the sky with tears in his eyes, surprised at how much it hurts.

He then sits down with his head in his hands in anguish...because he's getting that

"Oh...no. These feelings are real" epiphany.

And as if this wasn't enough angst, Blitzo collapses onto his couch at home, goes through the memories on his phone and starts sobbing.

I'm going to be real with you; this is the most heart-breaking shit I have ever seen in an adult show of this type. It's also the first time a show of this type got me to cry.

The last six minutes have revealed so much information without spoonfeeding it to the audience because the show RESPECTS its audience.

To recap:

*Blitzo takes Stolas on a first official date to use him

*Stolas is extremely happy about it

*Blitzo gets humilated and looks to Stolas for validation

*Stolas betrays him and breaks his heart

*Blitzo snaps that their relationship is nothing more than lust-driven sex

*Stolas realizes he's actually in love with Blitzo and it's a huge problem because (he believes) that it's unrequited.

*Blitzo breaks down because the ONE person whom he thought would protect him didn't do so.

So these two are convinced that neither one loves the other...while the irony is, it's quite the opposite.

Because if Blitzo REALLY didn't feel anything towards Stolas, he would not have gotten this emotional.

Yes, they are both lonely...but I really don't think that's all there is between them.

So..........we know WHEN they started falling...now the question is why;

I think the answer's quite simple; single-target affection.

It was mentioned in S2 that Stolas and Stella did sleep together ONE TIME...but Stolas didn't enjoy it at all. He is stuck with a wife who hates him so much that she put a HIT on him...and a daughter who thinks he's a loser. Blitzo is pretty much the one person in his life who is able to make him happy. That one small, bright spot. He enjoys the sex with him but he also simply enjoys his company, as shown in Ozzie's episode. He is thrilled to simply talk to him about his day...and do anything else that couples do. They're complete opposites. Stolas is an intellectual but naive and sheltered. Blitzo is poorly educated but cynical and street-smart. Opposites attract...though this is likely more from Stolas's POV than Blitzo's.

In other words, Stolas is into bad boys xD lmao

In Blitzo's case, Stolas is the only character who shows him physical affection which he desperately craves. He's pretty tsundere about it most of the time...but I think he actually does enjoy that attention...especially when he's always getting disrespected by Moxxie and Loona..and quite a lot of people around him. BUT he's too scared to get serious with anyone because of past trauma and he also believes that no one could possibly love him as a person. :(

Reasons I Think This Love is Real

Aside from what I pointed out in the Ozzie's episode...there's quite a lot of evidence, esp from Stolas's POV.

After he realizes he's in love, he goes to Asomodeous for an ALTERNATIVE method for Blitzo to use so they will no longer sleep together. He wants to set Blitzo free. Which means he DOES truly love him because love is about being generous to the other person. He COULD be totally selfish about it but he isn't.

Asomodeous mentions how against love potions he is and Stolas agrees. He thinks that's out of the question.

Blitz (gets very defensive) HEY! Stolas only cares about have a rugged peasant raw-dog him into his mattress, okay!

It's nothing...(gets hesistant and looks away)...you know...

(Fizz gives him a 'bitch please' look xD)

Fizz: Then why were you even there?

Blitz: OTHER very important reasons of course.

Fizz: Whatever. I don't actually care.

Blitz: Stolas is just a loud, thirsty BITCH!

Blitz: He loves feeling the thrill of getting dicked by the lower class.

It's a novelty to him.

Fizz: LITERALLY just said I don't care!

Blitz: And then he'll call me and try to see how my day was!

And he'll pretend to care about me and comment on my photos laugh at my jokes...

Fizz: (Smirking) OH! That's definitely your clue right there that it's all bullshit!

Blitz: I KNOW, RIGHT??

Fizz: (Making a 'What in idiot' expression, shaking his head)

Blitz: HE'S JUST A FAKE, PRIVELEDGED ASSHOLE...

Fizz: Sounds like you just hate him for being a prince!

No one (laughs) and I mean NO ONE pretends to care that much just for a cheap lay.

All right. IF ANYONE knows what real love is like, it's Fizzaroli...who is in a very HEALTHY relationship with Asomodeous. He recognizes the signs because he's IN that place. He sees it...and he's annoyed that Blitzo keeps denying it and brushing it off...yet clearly can NOT stop talking about Stolas (amusing irony)

To sum up (this freaking essay lol) 'Stolitz' ABSOLUTELY has the potential to be pure and true...these two just need to communicate...or Stolas has to PROVE to Blitzo that he's serious about his feelings in another way.

There is no doubt that this ship is 100% endgame and is a case of the 'Earn Your Happy Ending' Trope. I look forward to the rest of the journey. Ron is putting my feelings about Stolitz in a perfect phrase:

Okay so rewatching The Full Moon with the context of Apology Tour made me realize something VERY interesting about how Stolitz could actually be different from all the other relationships Blitzo has been in and burned down.

Consider what we hear from Verosika in Apology Tour: that she told Blitzo that she loved him, and this confession was what prompted Blitzo to completely nuke their relationship, to 'send a message in the shittiest way possible' as Versoika put it.

And you know that does actually line up with what we see in The Full Moon, ie; Stolas ALSO confessing his love for Blitzo. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if what we saw in that scene, specifically Stolas' confession and Blitzo's initial reaction to it, is how many if not most of Blitzo's breakups have played out. Certainly the really BAD ones: Blitzo's partner makes some admission or confession of genuine affection and love, only for Blitzo to believe they can't possibly be serious and proceeds to mock and belittle their feelings, just like we saw him do with Stolas.

But here's the thing: A lot of people have pointed out that Stolas handled Blitzo's response to his confession in kind of the worst way possible; immediately assuming that Blitzo really didn't care and shutting him out entirely without trying to clarify things to Blitzo or otherwise give him time to process.

So, what if Verosika and really most if not all of Blitzo's other ex's actually handled things better than Stolas? What if she/they actually DID try to explain their feelings and make it clear they really DO care?

Well, given what we've seen, it probably did NOT end well. As in, Blitzo's self-loathing and belief that no one could possibly love him are so DEEPLY ingrained and internalized that the more someone tries to convince him they really DO care has likely only caused him to double, triple, quadruple and QUINTUPLE down until he's trashing his partner's hotel room, stealing her care, maxing her credits cards and whatever else Blitzo has done to the DOZENS of people who tried to convince him that they cared.

Until Stolas.

Stolas DIDN'T try to convince Blitzo he really did care. Instead, he took Blitzo's response as proof that Blitzo didn't care and proceeded to shut things down and walk away.

(Part of) What makes Stolas so different is that he unwittingly BEAT BLITZO TO THE PUNCH. He effectively nuked their relationship BEFORE Blitzo could.

And for Blitzo, this has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.

HE'S always been the one to walk away first. HE'S always been the one to end things. Every relationship he's been in has ended on HIS terms.

Until now.

For the first time, Blitzo just happened to be with someone who is JUST as shitty at relationships as HE is XD

I'm happy that I can finally draw Stolas and Blitzo without copying another design but I'm still not satisfied because they come out very crooked. Blitzo for example, I wanted to make him 3/4 from the back, but in the end he came out with the torso 3/4 while the head and legs are from the side... And the horns are too low! On the other hand I remembered to draw the tails, both of Blitzo and Stolas, which I usually always forget to do, it's satisfying!! XD

Before the nurse could reply, Barbie stepped into the hall. 

“Barb,” Blitzø bellowed, “please, let me—” 

“You have the fucking balls,” she spat, “to say I'm your home?”

She strode up to him, grabbed him by their mother's choker. 

“You burn down the circus, you kill mom—” She snarled. “And you expect to find a home in me?”

“Barb—” 

Slap. 

“I'll never have a home again.” She turned and walked away. “And neither will you, Blitzo.”
