The cold air outside the school was like a complete tonal shift to Mukuro. It had only been a few months yet it struck her like an icy arrow, her body shivered a small bit in response. But no matter, she needed to do a perimeter check around the school. It clearly wasn't safe anymore. Then again, when had it ever been safe? Even before the collapse it had been in danger, ever since her and her sister had stepped foot there. But that was in the past, now was the present. She had expected to see things destroyed, but not to the levels they were, death and decay were scents carried by the wind from god knew where and the land was dead, the city that laid beyond the school destroyed, the ruins of which Mukruo could see as plain as day. She had no clue of how long she'd been inside Hope's peak but it was clear that things had spiraled. Looking back at the exit she had went through, a used to be bolted window, she let out a sharp exhale. As much as she wanted to rebolt it, that'd just consume time she could be using to scout the area. Her view quickly went back to the scenery and she'd begin to establish a perimeter, eyes scanning the surroundings and all the ready to strike if she saw anything or anyone close by the school.

While Mukuro was busying herself with looking around, a particular spot of rubble caught her eye. A high voice called out, sounding deeply troubled.

"P-Please, someone help me!"

When Mukuro uncovered the girl buried under the rocks, she instantly jolted back and hid behind a boulder, sobbing into the stone and hugging it as if that would do anything to console her misery.

"D-Don't look at m-me! I'm shameful- disgusting!"

However, when Mikan finally met Mukuro's gaze...her eyes widened, fear and panic striking through her heart.
