I have a head canon that Cass is afraid of animals
Not deadly afraid or a paralyzing fear or anything too terrible (she did fight and earned the respect of a pack of wolves that one time), just slightly unsettled by them
Because she's so used to looking at a person and knowing exactly what they are feeling or going to do and sometimes even why, when or how, that she isn't used to animals, who have a completely different and sometimes contradictory body language
She's hanging out on the park with Steph one day when someone stops to play with their dog in front of them, and Cass subtly grabs Steph's sleeve in nervousness because the dog has a tension on his leg that indicates eagerness but she doesn't know if it's playfulness or aggression, and it's also panting with his tongue out which is supposed to indicate exhaustion on humans but the dog hasn't done anything yet so it must mean something else she's not getting and also what the fuck is the body language for tails-
So Steph snaps her out of it, and in order to calm her down asks the dog owner if her friend can pet the dog, which immediately sends Cass into a panic because "wait Steph what the fuck no I'm scared of it this is betrayal-", and the dog happily trots over to them (although Cass doesn't know this is how a happy dog acts so she's terrified), and Steph tells her a dog wags their tail when they are happy, she pets the dog and after a few moments Cass manages to pet it too
Ok, so rapid tail-wagging in animals means happiness or playfulness, fucking great, Cass totally has this, she's going to get a good grade in animal body language reading, which is a completely normal skill to have or want. So she's walking around the manor and Alfred the cat (who has escaped Dick's arms after being snuggled by him against his will) walks by her, wagging his tail rapidly. Cass bends down to pet him and promptly gets her hand scratched, which makes her jump eight feet into the air and run to the closest sibling to explain her traumatizing experience, after which Damian tells her cats wag their tail when they are unhappy or annoyed and-
And-
What the fuck?-
So each animal species has different tells??? Is she the only one who finds this both upsetting and unsettling???
Do you know how hard it is to understand people when she can literally read their emotions on their bodies? How can she manage to understand and interact with animals if she doesn't even have that? Fuck that, she's staying well away from any animal if not on life or death situations

There's something about the fact that Section 6, the Canonically strongest Faction in game, has a ton of problems and difficulties.
Asaba has a Terminal Illness with no cure that Specifically and actively hinders his ability to do his specific Job. He will straight up turn into an ethereal at some point, if he doesn't succumb to cardiac arrest or asphyxiate first because of it.
Yanagi has Oni blood in her Veins, and if she uses too much of the power available to her she's liable to become incredibly injured or just outright die because it's Hysterical Strength x1000. It also, seemingly has caused her eyes to become messed up, and can make her go blind at random.
Soukaku's older Sister died due to Illness or War (Likely a combination of both.) Her mental trauma causes her to always almost always feel the need to eat, to fill the parts of her heart that feel empty. (Also my Headcanon is that Oni Develop slower than humans - Soukaku, despite being "Older than Yanagi" is at a much lower level of Maturity in terms of lifespan and physical/mental development. So she's basically a child soldier.)
Miyabi Straight up fights demons. In her sword. And With her sword. She killed her own mother to save her from becoming an ethereal. She doesn't always understand what's socially acceptable to say in a given situation (Neurodivergent), when it's appropriate to correct someone (Neurodivergent), can't stand meetings and paperwork (That's Everyone, but Neurodivergent), Believes she only exists to do one thing, that she's only truly capable of doing one thing, or has to add the modifier of "Training" to do certain things (Very Neurodivergent) and will just disassociate in public when she begins focusing on her thoughts too much (INCREDIBLY Neurodivergent).
And we've seen people act 'Normal' and not suffer from diseases in ZZZ! Nicole is incredibly Socially and (Somewhat) Financially adept, Lycaon might struggle somewhat in casual social circumstances, but he's very much capable LITERALLY anywhere else, Anton's a bit of a meathead but he's incredibly kind and well meaning, Corin has Anxiety and Confidence issues but other than that she seems to be a fairly normal (Mentally) Sixteen year old. Ellen is straight up just a Highschooler! I could go to my local high school and find someone who acts pretty much exactly like her!
Yeah, every character has their quirks and opinions, some have traumas and issues, but Section Six is the only group you can point at anyone of them and say "That Person has something wrong with them" and no one can provide a strong counter argument (Because there's a difference between living one's best life, and living the best life they can.)
#I've been professionally diagnosed with ADHD. I claim Miyabi as one of us.#zenless zone zero#zzz#zzzero#section 6#hoshimi miyabi#asaba harumasa#tsukishiro yanagi#zzz yanagi#zzz harumasa#zzz miyabi#soukaku#soukaku zzz

people act like the whole "Harley always goes back to Joker and stays in the cycle" isn't something that canonically in the main timeline she put a stop to almost a decade ago,,,, like yeah it was an important aspect of their relationship and something her character dealt with because it's a very common thing in domestically abusive relationships, but the Harley Quinn character herself wasn't reliant on that formula, it was literally just a realistic depiction of the cycle of abuse. One that she's since been able to develop past despite being part of an entertainment industry that tends to never allow serious lasting character development
The fact that a part of her understood what was happening to her wasn't healthy doesn't mean that Harley herself should never come to that concrete definitive stance that she deserves and wants better.
yeah, Harley always went back to The Joker when she was in love with him, but she's not anymore and she hasn't been for a long ass time. They weren't even in the Honeymoon phase when Rebirth starts, he's as horrific and nasty as he gets and she breaks away from him more and more until #25 of her 2014 comic where she ends the cycle for good. She's had 2 entire other comics since then, her 2016 one with like 75 chapters, and her current one with 46 chapters as of rn. In the rebirth timeline, she's literally been broken up with Joker longer than they were shown being in a relationship together.

okay so, I saw this, and decided I was bored again(I'm always bored), and so I shall answer this for Kinnio! He is the only character in Erralin I actually played as a DND character, from level 1.
Yes. Though trauma is usually not something he considers.
Usually saving them from a physical threat, like a dragon or bandits.
Fun Fact: Kinnio is an Illeist. Meaning he refers to himself in the third person, so usually it sounds like he's talking about someone else if you don't know him. But, to the actual question. He would probably be like, 'Kinnio is a super cool warrior king who can vanquish any foe set in front of him'. or just 'Kinnio super strong and cool.'
They percieve themselves well, not really having any problems with themselves, except that he could just be a better warrior.
He stabs into the air a few times, yelling something random.
Thunderstorms. It creates fun battle backgrounds
1994 Toyota Corolla. Why? I've seen too many memes recently.
Eh. I'd say pretty decisive, considering in the campaign he was played in, he made a lot of...decisions. (Nuking a city, nuking a giant stone mech, challenging a demon king, war crimes, buying a tavern, hatching literally every egg he found, including a tarrasque egg.)
Like the entire menu. Not a scrap of that food is being wasted either.
Normally by messing with his hands(Cracking his knuckles, tapping his fingers, cracking his fingers.)
Romantically, he will immediately just be the biggest gentleman whenever he is speaking to them. Also he likes carrying people. Platonically, he'll just be really nice to you and treat you as an equal. Or superior.
I'll just say, there is probably going to be a dead dragon by the end of it.
Silver. While gold is more valuable, he does like the color of silver and normally has his equipment made in that color or with that metal.
He honestly could not care. A little lie isn't one that will hurt anyone.
Strangely, he does like weddings. He doesn't like the people much, but he will usually bring the biggest gift. As a King of Erralin(Modern Day), it isn't unusual for him to appear at weddings, even if it's a commoner wedding.
He is the target demographic for most modern men care products. So like wood and other 'manly' things.
we love the fact you have to specify. Anyways, He likes apples and melon.
Uh, I don't know? I've never heard of this scale, so I'm going to just....skip it. Though it was an interesting google search.
Fighting, and any of the ancient pokemon, or Galarian Zapdos.
White Chocolate.
I don't know any, so I apologize.
He is incredibly loyal and will fight to the death for an ally he trusts.
His trust is hard to gain, and one of the easiest ways is proving a capable warrior.
No, because he can't read...sometimes. Sometimes he can. Depends on if the book has pictures.
I again, have no idea. I think I'm just stupid.
He would love the drift answer, but yeah, he would just pull the lever. That is, if he isn't allowed to just stop the trolley himself.
Fight his way back up. Failure is not an option.
He usually works out or finds one of his many pets, commonly his dragon, Crimson.
I might as well give up, I don't like not answering questions.
He typically just does whatever the hell you want him to do. He is basically just going to just dedicate himself to you.
The Chaos. Honestly, he is very consistent, but also chaotic, my DM has expressed since day 1 that Kinnio was his favourite character in the campaign, and he has tried killing him off ever since, to no avail.
I'm going to assume you mean a different person's action, and not at all. Canonically, King Kinnio killed a shop owner for retaliating against one of the party members(He also had no idea the party member was in the wrong, he just heard someone yell for help and jumped into action. The party member basically manipulated him into it.)
Not very. Usually, he just acts then thinks later.
No. Especially with his party, there is only one person he trusts more than anyone, and would only talk to him about his plans, if he had any at the time.
Alcohol. Wine, Beer, or any monster drop. He would also be the only character(That I can remember) that you can give old weapons to.
The most beautiful face any person has every seen, next. But really though, of the people he would know, it would probably be a royal he met in the campaign he was a PC in.
A poppy, as in the world wars they were a symbol of a battle fought.
For every character(Except Sparta) I use a random name generator and alter the name slightly.
Meat loversx10. It's probably going to be like 90% meat.
He eats a lot, due to his abilities draining his energy. A lot of it is unhealthy eating.
Wish. He has casted it like 8 times between levels 13 and 16.
It wouldn't really make sense unless you played the campaign, but the royal mentioned before, her husband, Sparta(He was thrown into the campaign hastily bc the DM didn't want to come up with a shopkeep), arnold schwarzenegger(He was also in the campaign)
Himself. He usually doesn't think about what other people might want unless they mention it directly.
DND Ask Meme but it's random questions I've asked other players apropos of nothing within the last 6 months

MY DEAR i apologize for the random drabble request pls don't feel pressured to do this if you do not wish🩵
but as u know, I love how you write the Dia gang🥺 and I crave crumbs of Lilia being put in a scenario where he actually needs to drop his 'ufufu' act and be protective over a one Silver Vanrouge
which is something I have not found yet in canon materials, very sadly, (but pls correctly me if i am wrong bc I am not in-the-know of all the vignettes and such)
There is one great moment in Book 7 where Lilia literally gets shot by a cannon while shielding Silver and he didn't even remember Silver was his son, his body just reacted on its own. Such good angst 😭 and then Jade's lab vignette has a pretty cute moment between the two with Lilia thinking Silver was getting poisoned.
But yes, I have written something for you (sorry it took so long lol) please enjoy and thank you for asking!
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯
‘Shouldn’t he be taking less naps by now?’ Lilia thought to himself.
In all of the human parenting books he read, most of them said that young humans tend to stop napping regularly at around four years old. Unless Silver was in the 30% margin of human five-year-olds needing naps, Lilia couldn’t find rhyme or reason for Silver to be this tired so frequently.
When Silver was a baby, Lilia often praised him for his ability to go to sleep easily. It was a far cry from Malleus, who hated naps even when he was a wee little dragon. For a while, the only problem Silver really had was something called ‘colic’ and that thankfully passed by the time he reached 6 months.
He had his suspicions it could have something to do with the state Lilia found him in…Lost in the throes of a protective sleep spell for over 400 years. The spell should’ve broken by now, otherwise Silver wouldn’t be here with him at all, tottering about in their front yard.
He felt in his gut that some of Silver’s quirks weren’t normal, but he had no way of knowing for sure. He never lived with a human before nor took care of one. He kept telling himself that maybe human children would fall asleep standing up.
He was brushing up on his reading because of his anxious observations. It was his way of dissuading himself from worrying. That’s when he heard what sounded like a heavy object being dropped down the stairs…The stairs that led up to Silver’s bedroom.
“Silver? Are you causing any mischief up there?” He asks playfully, but he got no response which was odd.
He went to inspect the sound and found Silver collapsed at the bottom of the stairs, limbs contorted in ways he’d see the deceased on the battlefield lie, not befitting for a little five-year-old.
After a moment of standing there, in shock at what he was seeing, his senses finally came back to him and he rushed over to investigate. There was a cut just above Silver’s delicate forehead, and blood was gushing out.
“Silver! Please speak to me!” He attempted, but got nothing. Then panic set in, those colorful little bandaids he had on hand wouldn’t be enough to close up this wound, and he had no healing potion on hand.
The blood reached down to his white eyelashes and wasn’t stopping. Was he gravely injured? Was he dying?
He already knew humans were fragile, but could stairs really kill him?
All these unknowns swirled in his brain and he felt like he did when Silver first got ill as a baby. Completely blind, making stuff up on the spot, a novice in the ways of raising a human, guilty of not handing Silver over to willing humans who would’ve taken him in and raised him better.
He took Silver into his arms, not caring that his blood stained his newly cleaned white shirt, and took to a broomstick to fly all the way to the nearest human clinic.
When he arrived, there was someone new at the front desk, a human employee he had never seen before instead of someone familiar.
“This child fell down my stairs. He’s bleeding and he isn’t responding, I need help.” Lilia told her with urgency.
“Sir, where did you find this child?” She asked, not knowing.
He had fallen into his usual habit of referring to Silver as ‘the kid he looked after’ like he would around Baur. This woman took one look at him and knew they didn’t match.
“He’s mine.” Lilia asserted.
“But you’re-“
“Yes, I know I’m a fae, but he’s my child and he needs help! Where’s the doctor?!” He quickly lost his patience with her.
His heart was already pounding out of his chest, feeling unworthy of calling Silver his own. The judgmental reaction he was met with had validated his feelings of inadequacy.
The usual doctor stepped out and recognized them, apologizing for his new employee’s reaction. He took one look at Silver in his arms and took him to the back where Silver would normally get his annual check-ups.
The doctor wiped the blood away to reveal that the cut Silver got across his hairline was not as deep as it looked.
“There are many tiny arteries around the head, that’s why the bleeding was so profuse at a small cut,” the doctor explained, “With some gauze, it should heal up like normal.”
“But he’s unconscious,” Lilia told him, “that’s dangerous for humans.”
“This wound isn’t deep enough for that. Children often get more hurt when they try bracing themselves for a fall, but I believe Silver went limp before he fell down the stairs as you described.” The doctor told him as he wrapped the bandage around his son’s head.
Silver didn’t necessarily look in pain, just asleep as he normally was…Except that wasn’t normal, was it?
“What do you mean? Are you saying he wasn’t conscious when he fell?” Lilia asks.
The doctor turns to him, a serious expression on his face.
“I know you’re new to this and as you’ve told me before, you haven’t interacted with humans much before adopting him…But excessive sleepiness is not normal for a child his age.” The doctor said, and Lilia felt the pit in his stomach grow.
“It’s not?” He repeats dumbly, of course, it’s not! Why did he allow so much room for doubt in his mind, pushing his concerns aside, believing that he was making up it being an issue.
“No, and the fact that his injury hasn’t woken him up is concerning. I think you should look into consulting medical mages or human doctors closer in the city about this.” The doctor recommended, “It could be an underlying neurological disorder.”
‘Or a blessing turned curse,’ Lilia thinks in his head. He couldn’t tell the doctor that, though, he couldn’t tell anyone. Not even Malleus, nor Silver even when he’s old enough to understand. This is his secret to keep close to his heart.
“If you have any recommendations, please let me know.” Lilia requests, “I’ll take him to whatever doctor or mage he needs to go to solve this.”
Would anyone be able to find out what’s wrong, though?
Ancient magic was seeped into his bones, there was no known cure for that. But if someone could find anything, then…
Silver stirred and was understandably disoriented from his change in surroundings. He started to tear up, which he hadn’t done in a long time, and Lilia pulled him into a hug where he could muffle his soft cries into his shoulder.
“Thank you for always helping me.” He thanked the human doctor, who returned similar sentiments.
“I was surprised when Dr. Zigvolt referred you to us,” he said, referring to Baur’s son-in-law, “A fae raising a human isn’t exactly common, but I can tell you both care for each other. You have a good kid, I’m sure you raised him to be that way.”
“So you’ve noticed,” Lilia replied light-heartedly. Silver turned his face to the familiar doctor, now ashamed by his tears, and wanted to thank him for patching him up. “What do we say, Silver?”
“Thank you sir,” Silver says in a small voice.
“You two take care.” The doctor bids them farewell on the way out.
As they left, Silver looked up at him with his side, auroral eyes, and tilted his bandaged head in curiosity.
“Papa, you’re gripping my hand really tight. What’s wrong?” He asks, “Is it cause I hurt myself?”
Silver could be strangely perceptive, almost wise beyond his short years. Yes, Lilia had Silver in a tighter grip than usual, afraid a possible second slip up would send them right back to where they start.
Lilia could never tell Silver about who his parents truly were or where he came from or even why he is the way he is. He would keep having to lie about that, and lying to that sweet little face was already so hard.
Silver didn’t even know he was adopted yet, it’s like everything about their little life was one big secret.
But he couldn’t lie about this.
“I’m a little worried about you, that’s all. The nice doctor told me that your sleepiness isn’t normal.” He broke the news, to which Silver looked down at his tiny feet in shame, “But it’s alright because I’m going to take you to many doctors so we can find a cure.”
“That’s good!” Silver looked up with a smile, “Then I can still be a knight, right?”
“Yes, you can.” Lilia said, swinging both their arms back and forth, “And Silver?”
Silver looked back at him.
“Please try not to scare your papa.”

I like Stolas. I’m not a ride or die fan, but I like him. He’s an entertaining and likable to watch character, even though he’s a royal he is capable of breaking the classist conditioning ingrained in him from birth and has made some pretty good strides in doing so. He’s a good dad. He has made mistakes, every parent does. One of which was getting so caught up in his fight and break up with Stella and the mixture of stress, fear, and freedom that comes with finally leaving your abuser to forget about the comet storm that Octavia always wanted to see with him. It’s a completely understandable mistake but it was one none the less. He made up for it immediately, went out of his way to do so, so he could still have and share that moment with his daughter. We have seen him comfort Octavia when Stella stayed in bed, we have repeatedly seen him talk about how much he loves his daughter and we have repeatedly seen him show that love to Octavia. He’s a good dad and anyone who says otherwise is watching a completely different show. I’m not saying that he does but I don’t care if Stolas is a bad husband to Stella, I don’t care if he makes Stella look bad, I don’t care about any criticism anyone has about Stolas’ treatment of Stella. She is canonically his abuser, he don’t owe her shit. No one owes their abuser love, loyalty, or to “make them look good” Stolas didn’t deserve the abuse Stella put him through and he doesn’t owe her protection of her public image.
It's nice to hear this from a more neutral fan and I totally agree!
What I love about Stolas is how realistic he is as a father. I mean, those "perfect" parent figures in fiction can be enjoyable, but let's be real, no real life parent is actually like that. Every parent has their flaws, every parent has done or said the wrong thing, every parent has forgotten something that's important to their child, every parent has made a (in their eyes) small mistake that scarred their child for life. You get the point.
What matters is how the parent deals with it once they realize the bad affect it's had on their kid and THAT is why I will die on the hill Stolas is technically a good dad (not perfect, but I'm sick and tired of people acting like a parent can only be good when they're perfect, because perfect parents literally don't exist).
Literally every single time Stolas realized his actions hurt Octavia, he's gone out of his way to fix it. I've seen some haters say "he never learns because he did it again" and I'm just like... no? His mistake in Loo Loo Land and his mistake in Seeing Stars are not the same thing (inappropriately flirting in front of his daughter vs being too caught up in the divorce to pay proper attention to her), so how could he have learned from it already!?
Flawed parents are literally my fave, they remind me of my own and I learned first hand how those mistakes say nothing about how much they love me and how much they're willing to fight for me. And not to end on a sad personal note, but seeing my dying mother cry about mistakes she still regrets (including things that happened almost two decades ago) puts A LOT into perspective.

Piggybacking on one of your recent posts, they did worse than just give The Guide nothing to do and the MAGA speech, they turned her into a prop for the needs of male characters.
That was her entire purpose.
Offering insight about Nandor and his romance struggles and being a love interest for Nandor to underscore that if The Powers That Be wanted Nandor to be physically attracted to Guillermo and making intended, overt romantic statements, he would be acting towards him as he does The Guide, but he doesn't, so get your minds out of the gutter, their love is more profound than that.
Then because the Monster is horny, all of the vampires INCLUDING NADJA are completely okay with decapitating The Guide - A FELLOW SEVERAL HUNDRED YEARS OLD VAMPIRE - with or without her consent, and attach it to a frankenbody to be the Monster's sex doll.
Lazslo literally sneaks up on her with an electric saw.
That was it. We never saw her actually working with Jerry, just blink and you miss it moments.
(Also please try to imagine Season 1-2 Nadja, who actually cared about other women who were being shat on enough to turn her into her baby vamp and take her under her wing reacting like this and tell me her character hasn't been assassinated and that this show didn't fly off the rails.)
Wow, never gave the Guide that much thought (mostly BECAUSE THE WRITERS DON'T EITHER) but now I'm so viscerally pissed about it. You're 100% right. I mean, don't quote me on this, but this show got so distasteful regarding women and minorities when SF (a woman of color, btw) became less involved and left. She was still around in season 4 but didn't even write an ep, and mind you, up until that point, her eps were the only ones where Nandor stated the possibility of the love of his life being a man, after being confirmed multisexual for a while.
Marwa should've been a guywife and this is the hill I'm dying on. You can't make a middle eastern man take a middle eastern woman's agency away and ultimately turn her into a white man. The implications are unfortunate to say the least. Like, they were smart enough to have Guillermo be a man even when making him a woman was considered too (can you imagine having a Latina as a mistreated servant to a middle eastern man? The way that would've offended everyone lmao). This is such a gross and easily avoidable oversight, YOU LITERALLY GAVE THE DUDE MALE SPOUSES
Also comparing a brown man to an orc AND NOT SUBVERTING IT in the subversive show (I was so sure they were going to reveal the orcs were actually super hot at the end, because that's what early seasons would do). Just the fat jokes last season and the obsession with making it clear again and again that Guillermo is not wanted sexually by anyone in the horny monster society. I know the fandom thinks everyone's all over him but I genuinely believe this is collective delusion (affectionate) or fanfic brain because I can't remember any of this being backed by canon aside from the Guide's crush (also ftm sexual harassment is funny, I guess). Please correct me if I'm wrong. They changed their tune so many times it's hard to keep track.
Like, not to be that friend that's too woke, but when you have a diverse cast (except for black folks smh, though I'm glad they never went there) you need to be a bit more careful and responsible with what you put in their mouths. Come on!
Went on a bit of a tangent, sorry. My heart breaks for Kristen. Good for that main cast paycheck, but imagine having your character become a regular just for it to... Not be a regular? And be disrespected every second it's around without a satisfying conclusion? They seemed to understand back in the day that seeing a character be exaggeratedly mistreated constantly is only funny for a while, but they forgot, both with her and Guillermo.
I never liked the Guide. I found her entertaining on her first appearances but thought she changed the general feel of the comedy a little too much. To be honest, I always found it hard to care about her and Nadja, because the writers themselves never seemed that interested in them. But this is so annoying and makes me want to write sapphic fixits lmao

“Bribe back my trust” okay okay brain juice juicing, that’s an interesting one. Like can someone smarter than me please explain how this funny melodramatic line is simultaneously really deep and tied with Varian’s past. Please this dialogue is literally the pinnacle of what vat7k canon lines should have been, tone wise but also THIS
like it just speaks volumes about varian’s views on trust. He had to prove he was worthy to be trusted again, after all, by not only standing against the saporians but also helping to stop the kingdom from being nuked, and he was willing to risk his life to do that (thank you rapunzel for utilising your godlylocks). And then prove himself to the rest of the kingdom, in episode ten, right? And also every other super important thing he did after that. Because that’s the system that’s in him now. Initially he believed he’d never be forgiven unless everyone forgot, then he realised that wasn’t an option, and before he could fully sink into the never-forgiven-ever-ever void he was given an opportunity to ‘fix the mistakes he’d made’ (pop off ig). So now in place of the old mindset a new one has arisen. Do something heroic->earn back trust. And nothing at all has happened to him to contradict that worldview. So every act of heroism henceforth was serving to solidify his redemption, in his eyes. Or at the very least… to convince the people around him that he’s trustworthy.
so varian has a prove-yourself complex. Fun to have an episode where he’s unable to prove himself (in some way, preferably morally because guilt guilt guilt) to someone, idk, anyone wanna snatch that up?
oh yeah and the bit about betrayal, the bit about not following through with something you said you’d do. Ain’t the first time a princess triggered that response Nuru.
(See this is why I need someone smarter than me to sum it up quicker. The true gem of this comic is Yong’s dialogue. To just mix a formula you’re relatively-not-entirely-but-it’ll-be-fine sure is correct with the first thing you think of, the first thing on hand, or something you have copious amounts of. the viago-crow rook dynamic makes me crazy i fear!!! the found family!!!! the layers!!! the care of it all!!!! the 'i am afraid of losing my protégé who I've come to regard as family but I don't exactly know how to convey that so I have to be stern toward them, remind them not to abandon their contract, so they aren't eaten up by the antivan crows like I know the organization can do and has done time and time again' i am literally rambling rn but i could write a whole essay i fear
#i could be reading into this too much of course but from the scraps i've been fed i am literally going nuts the found family dynamic#but this is how it will be in my canon at least LOL#viago i see you. acting all stern and tough and talonlike but you're actually worried sick about rook.#will go apeshit if anything happens to his found family!!! i see you king#also another tangent but as an ocd haver myself Mr Viago De Riva I have news for you. but i'll save that for another day#I just know he's out here pacing back and forth w worry thinking of every possibility#“rook didn't bring my 30 antidotes for every possible poison in thedas”#“maker... its so over actually”#teia just watching viago try to deny ever being worried like. i know what you are (Rook's found family)#she can read that man like a book.#veilguard spoilers#dragon age veilguard spoilers#dragon age spoilers#viago de riva#teia cantori#rook de riva#ibon.txt#bonus points actually if this is why viago and teia help rook in the fight directly if I see that trailer moment correctly#not only because the world is at stake but also because viago feels like he has to personally step in to make sure all is well#but then again everyone's canon is different lol this one's just how I interpret it for my world state

oh im obsessed with this actually… who ever wrote this one i am kissing u on the forehead and hugging you real tight… inigo is such a loverboy im kkkhhhhhhijnsdnfng
#ann plays awakening#EDITING TO SAY I STARTED TAG VENTING HIT READMORE AT YOUR OWN RISK#anyways#LAST LINE IS A KILLERRRR WOW#‘ann werent you just pairing olivia with thar—‘ OLIVIA IS A BUSY WOMAN OKAY#but also i just had this old save file from when i wanted to see pink inigo and decided to get some more supports#im obsessed actually like#ok tag venting time maybe this should be its own post but u guys know who i am#not only does this support in my very educated opinion do a good job at emulating inigo’s way of speaking#but i think theres also a very underrated characteristic he has that not a lot of people talk about and its that hes honestly quite morbid#him spending hours talking to and dancing with his mother’s grave is very beautiful and moving but it is also not a normal way to grieve#which makes sense because duh nothing about his life is normal but its j like. you know#if robin is his father (and maybe j the normal convo i dont remember) in the hot springs scramble he’ll insist upon bringing—#severed risen limbs home as a way to remember the peacefulness (lol) of the springs#and he thinks absolutely nothing of it!!#i think he gets attached to things just a little too intensely and because his life is surrounded by death how he expresses that can be#very interesting. and he talks about death all time more than the other kids#bc while a lot of their coping mechanisms are based in fear and the need to instill confidence in themselves (think cyn or gerome or owain#or sev or yarne or noire)#and how their SCARED of death and of loss and adapt different behaviors to act like theyre not (to varying degrees of success)#i think inigo is much more accepting of the fact that death follows him and has made it a normal presence in his life#which is not a good thing it means that he hasnt let himself grieve. he lets death hang over him and follow him instead of pushing back#also guess which one of the awakening trio in fates has the canonical story death. just by the way lmao#anyways bc im writing this in the tags on my phone i cant actually see what the hell ive been saying im j stream of consciousnessing this#but my point is that inigo has a weird fixation on death and dying that stems from his inability to make peace with death and grieve#and i think him idolizing death in this support (this BRILLIANT fan support that made me ill) is so in character and so lovely#i miss him so bad (hes literally in the photos im posting) grghhhrgah#i wuv him :(

Hopping on this one to say that I really like the canon relationship between Danny and his parents because it's very real as someone with parents who made a questionable decision in having a kid. They love him and Jazz, they provide for them, they even show up at sports events and support them with all their heart.
But.
They have two main problems.
One, they are indeed neglectful. They let themselves get carried away in their (imo literal) hyperfixation on ghosts to the detriment of their kids' lives, which obviously could have gotten Danny fully killed and is a repeated problem throughout the series. This also manifests in their problems communicating with Danny when they simply seem to find Jazz to be easier to reach because she's a genius like them and is extremely eloquent and self aware. To the point where it's implied more than once that Danny views himself as a disappointment to them because of this.
Two, and this is the one that is crafted the most subtly but is nonetheless handled and shown really well, is that they can't be relied on.
Danny and Jazz both have a huge amount of independence past their years and it's because, when you have parents like this, you quickly learn that there are certain areas of your life where they just can't help you. A parent that can make you food but can't give you decent advice or preparation on how to live your life is going to set a kid up to feel like they have to teach themselves everything.
This one is actually really interesting because the show seems aware of this to the extent that the other extreme is ALREADY covered by Danny's nemesis of all things, who is an adult who could be a mentor to him and has useful insight on how the world works... But lacks love. Lacks all of the things that make the Fentons good parents to their kids.
So like, you would think that adding Bruce Wayne in the middle of that dichotomy would work, right? He's got a lot of Vlad and the Fentons in him, if we're being honest. He's got the potential to be a foil to both of those parties at the same time while acting as a mentor.
This is why it's such a shame to ignore the startlingly complex character dynamics of Danny Phantom. In flattening them, people are turning their backs on really compelling stories for the sake of... whatever reason people do this for that I still don't really get. Angst? Okay, whatever makes you happy to write, but speaking from experience it can still be sad to feel like you have to manage things without the adults that are supposed to be there for you. And the Batfam themes would plug wonderfully into that! I hope to read a fic like that in the future!
Also like guys you know the nuclear level of rich people drama that a coping and seething Vlad could get up to while being mentor-jealous of Bruce right. Manifesting this actually
As much as I love DP x Batman crossover fics, they oftentimes tackle the issue with Danny's parents through a singular lens. Depictions of them come off as unloving physically abusive parents the moment they find out Danny is Phantom (not to say you can't depict them that way, I mean it's fanfiction ^^). I just think it would give more insight to such a heavy topic if we were to depict them the way they are: neglectful and endangering, but people who love their children. Gives a whole new layer to their complicated relationship.
#Danny Phantom#Uhhhh fandom meta I guess#I don't like the evil Fentons trope sorry guys#The canon dynamic is actually really good come closer I am very normal about the characters in DP

Gotham War is shit and all, but I'm starting to get tired of people complaining that Bruce was OOC that was like literally one of the main points
complain about literally anyone else being OOC because they don't have an excuse
#'Bruce was too mean. Bruce would never say that' Zur would and we don't know which one said it#Remember he was possessed by like 100 different guys at the time and not all Bruce's are canonically identical in personality#so the same applies to Zurs#Like it has so many problems but I cannot fault it for doing exactly what it explained it would do and set up from the beginning of the run#the 'he's my son' bit was literally the set up for so much about how he treats his children/family#Zur holds no affection for them but Bruce does#and he has that argument with his alternate self#and then Zur-possessed Bruce acting like an ass is literally a result of that#bruce wayne#batman#gotham war#'gotham war isn't canon to me' get away from me#batfamily#batfam#Zdarsky just wants to write Tim and it shows#even when he's not writing that well it's clear he's doing what he wants#and what he wants is the same rehashed 'bruce cares about them' moment#which has been done better before

Time for more eternal gales isat au, this time featuring Sier as Isabeau, creating a sprite I can never use next to Aris’ because despite my best efforts it would make them look tall
#keese draws#eternal gales#oc#oc art#isat#in stars and time#this one didn’t take nearly as long as the aris one but I think I suffered for it more from the clothes alone#siffrin made me forget I suck at drawing clothes rip#this was also harder because of how much trickier it was to try and adapt siers design to feel fitting enough for my standards#they have a very stylized design compared to most of the others#I kind of took the lazy route out by keeping most of their original shapes in tact but it’s fine#sier in this au would serve the needed role of emotionally intelligent bestie who is also too scared to cross boundaries to do much#but despite this I do think they’d actually get the suspicion quest in this au#mostly because mase is a furry artist not a nerd and sier would be more likely to look at aris and go bro. are you in a fucking timeloop.#it also differs in that aris doesn’t yell at sier abt it instead looping before they can finish because she can’t handle hearing them be#right on the money about this thing that she thought she was handling perfectly#she doesn’t want to fail them she doesn’t want them to realize she’s failed them she doesn’t want to be a burden she doesn’t want them to#‘realize’ they’re better off without her#aris is Incredibly resistant to accepting help on most serious issues because shes convinced that it’s her responsibility to deal with it#by herself and that if she can’t then she’s a failure and worse than useless#I mean in canon eternal gales she literally loses her eye and arm because of that#in this au she just lost them how sif lost his eye but she still has. complexes abt all that.#but yeah sier also differs wildly from isa in many Many other ways as does the rest of the cast from their assigned characters#for sier they rly aren’t the jock of the group at all instead being more of the guy who keeps the mood lighthearted at all times lest they#die of stress because the others haven’t said anything in a whole 30 seconds#aka they’re the self assigned peacekeeper who doesn’t actually need to constantly keep the peace because no one’s fighting but they still#feel like they need to so they dance and dance and dance for their friends until they collapse from exhaustion#metaphorically ofc#this is why they’re both terrified to confront aris when she starts acting a bit fucked up but also why they still do sometimes anyways#they talk abt this a lil bit in their friend quest as they talk abt how they want to change but are scared to

To this day I believe wholeheartedly that JKR decided not to write Draco switching sides when offered by Dumbledore or asking Snape to help him switch sides, because she knew she’d write Draco and Harry falling in love with each other (intentionally/unintentionally). She would have a hard time writing them as the characters she created for them and not having feelings of care and understanding for each other. It would be simply impossible unless she obliviated them both lol.
#I said what I said#drarry#Harry Potter#Draco Malfoy#deathly hallows#bc like? hello they are fully obsessed with each other#and then literally can relate to each other so much#with the loneliness Harry feels by being the only person chosen to defeat Voldi#and loneliness Draco feels for being chosen to work for the dark side#not to mention not having any real friends#and being an only child#both of them act out of anger with their words and behaviour#Harry is prone to do more physical violence#where as Draco literally can’t#he can’t even properly be a good death eater#the only reason Draco becomes a death eater is to save his family and himself#the only reason Harry is doing his kill Voldi shit is bc he can’t let others die because he backed out#I believe no one can truly understand Draco like Harry does and vice versa#they know everything about each other#they can spot each other from far away#they can sense each other by footsteps or breath#???#They not only care for each other enough to keep on risking their own life and their friends and family#but also they are ready to do it again and again#they would bond so much if Draco was written as switching sides which literally is what should have happened with his character in canon#but JKR is a terf and a bad writer so she didn’t do it#my canon can be whatever I want as who cares about a badly written shit that a terf wrote?

!! I AM NEURODIVERGENT !!
Okay so
Things like this bother me, because yes, caelum is extremely autistic-coded, but; he does act a child because he is just that; a child.
This is the same one who literally thought the word ‘habitual’ was a bad word, and I don’t think most ND people think that usually—I certainly don’t, but I’m not everyone and not everyone is me
Not to mention, I like to believe Erik would’ve done extensive research on audhd before applying it to any of his characters canonically!! (I’m not shutting down anyone’s hc, as I love thinking that Caelum is ND myself!!) I highly doubt he would just infantilize a character for no reason if not to imply they’re a child / childlike!
There’s also the Redacted 101!! Where empathy daemons are literally called children before their fall from grace (looking at you regulus)
(Asks have been glitching a lot lately….)
