Hi hi I just wanted to dump a more "bleh" idea here (because I sadly do not have any DMC friends to talk about my ideas too,,, I'm lonely :c) but im having brain rot about Dante and Vergil having a S/O that wants them to devil trigger because they love to draw their demon form and just gently trace all of their details- the scales on their hands, the structure of their wings, their face, horns, all of it. Like, to S/O, they just find this form fascinating :D (ofc they still like Vergil and Dante in their normal form, it's just they have the thought of "omg dragon looking form!!! Must,,, draw/touch!")

I think that this is so very real!!

I feel like Dante would be a little worried to show them his Devil Trigger at first if they're not involved in the devil hunting biz like he is, because what if it freaks them out? He doesn't want to scare them away with something that's a huge part of him, and when he finds out that his S/O actually likes and wants him to show it off it makes him so happy. Of course, it's not something he'd ever outwardly admit, because he'd much rather laugh it off as he does with all of his other worries and problems.

He'd hold out his wings for them to touch and feel, while he watches the adoration expand on their face. He finds it to be pretty damn cute and does his best to pose and hold still while they draw him. Dante's impressed with how well his S/O's able to capture his likeness. I think he'd also be pretty affectionate while in that form, more so than he normally he is, wanting to give them kissies while they hold his face and feel the roughness of his scales and what not.

Vergil on the other hand would be hesitant to let his S/O come near his Devil Trigger at all. He's weary because he's acutely aware of how much more stronger he is in that state and doesn't want to hurt them at all. Every part of his body is dangerous and made to be sharp, from his open horns that expel blue flames, to his arms. Vergil probably worries about scratching them by accident while they touch along his body while in that form. Although he can't help but squirm a little from how ticklish it feels along his carapace. Of course, he doesn't mind, since he's proud of his heritage and is eager to see how his S/O will capture him.

Their interest is endearing to him, and Vergil adores that they seem to love it so. He'd carefully guide their hands to his side, where it's safest to touch and ask them what they think, as he's more curious to know rather than worried if they'd dislike it or anything like that. It's a point of pride for the eldest son of Sparda, and hearing his S/O fawn over his devil trigger like that makes him feel pretty happy.

so. somehow,, somehow. SOMEHOW. vergil. without really fucking TRYING managed to not only capture the interest of a woman, but also knocked her up. and then he was gone like the wind LMFAO??.. & im thinking that because vergil is so focused on bettering his abilities, on gaining more power (kinda why dmc5 happened)—as much as he might crave romance or someone to simply touch him with warmth deep down inside—just doesn’t have time for that anymore. he’s not a friendly person, and i’m pretty sure he himself is aware of this, so he doesn’t put in the effort to change or put himself out there in hopes of attracting someone because there’s really no point to it. for vergil, time is always ticking, just waiting for the right moment to strike with yet another tragedy. getting laid is most likely the last thing on his mind because he’s got other stuff to worry about, and likely has a low sex drive. overall 12% incel rate methinks.

now lets get the obvious knocked out of the way… nero has kyrie. their relationship is the healthiest one shown on screen, and even if it’s a little odd acknowledging the fact they’re technically step siblings, at least they’re not BLOOD related so LOLS it could be worse. he’s getting kisses and hugs and cuddles on the daily and living a good life with a sweet girl. helps orphans also! he’s also laik.. the most normal compared to the sparda twins and v. has the most valid reactions to crazy shit (i.e frustration, cursing, etc..)…but also because he’s like the most sane, he’s definitely got the occasional need to cum. it’s not a terribly high sex drive but it’s not as low as vergil’s either. considerably moderate, and is probably to be more focused on his gig of devil hunting and taking care of the orphans with kyrie. 15% incel rate methinks—still pretty low.

and here comes dante. look.. that’s.. a flirty man if i’ve ever seen one, a little pervy, but not a complete degenerate. yanno what i mean? like, sure he shamelessly looks at adult mags out in the open, even has some pages of nearly naked women on the wall of the Devil May Cry, but he’s never touched any woman inappropriately. in dmc3, the most he did was get super close to lady and get up all in her face, did try to shoot his shot with her, but when she clearly wasn’t having it he immediately backed off. theyre chill now, and hasn’t exactly shown any flirtatious behavior towards her anymore (not that i’ve seen..),, and in dmc5, he could’ve had the chance to get touchy with trish when he saved her as she was nude, but instead he exhibited nothing but real concern for her wellbeing. (maybe that’s because she looks like his mom, and they’ve been good friends for some time, that it’s a natural reaction. but you’d expect an incel to disregard this and take it as a chance to explore anyway.) so dante’s clearly got morals and some dignity and can control himself. regarding his libido, i’m pretty sure he’s hornier than nero and vergil. if dante sees a pretty person, he won’t be afraid to make his interest known. he’s got a lot on his plate too, and since he doesn’t smoke and isnt a full blown alcoholic, he most likely vents any stress by jerking off. for him there’s probably nothing better than a proper orgasm for temporary relief. he is aware of the disaster that follows him and is too afraid to engage romantically because of it, but i imagine he does want a little something more than his hand and does often crave a relationship.. 33% incel rate

v.. you’re right about him LOL. imagine and put yourself in v’s shoes: a constant desire to be loved which stemmed your former self, endless want for security, new to this world and have no clue how it really works or know what’s taboo and what isn’t with only a few memories to guide you along the way (which don’t really guide you at all, but instead taunt you with the traumas and experiences your former self has undergone, and provide insight about the kind of person you were) but now your own person with a conscience and liberty? curiosity is bound to find you, and there will probably be a lack of understanding of boundaries with others. e.g, if trish hadn’t explicitly stated that she wasn’t eva, v probably would’ve clung to her thinking she was his beloved mother (or at least recognized her as someone he cherished deeply.)… v is probably more prone to developing obsessions that can be unhealthy, and since hes got a human body (he IS the embodiment of vergil’s humanity)—he’s obviously going to have human desires that would be pretty strong. i reckon he wouldn’t know how to deal with himself and would be restless to understand these needs, so he may come off a little too forward to others when asking for assistance. that would undeniably freak people the fuck out and push them away from him even if it’s not intentional on his part. (nero had even questioned v’s motives himself, and v is naturally just.. mysterious yet straightforward at the same. it’s safe to assume others are put off by v’s demeanor too.) 40% incel rate.

soooo… vergil is least likely, followed by nero, then dante, and v is most likely to be prone. methinks anyway :3

i am already unfathomably attached to the transistor au (sent the same day you first posted the ask), and would love to hear more about how he breaks away from Lucy and the assassins. like, does he still do some Ezio memory diving with Shawn n Becca n Lucy before going AWOL? did Altaïr tell Desmond about Lucy's betrayal or did they figure it out based on Altaïr being suspicious of her and going digging?

does her death spur Becca and Shawn and/or Bill to start looking into Lucy or do they double down on the "she’s our friend and we trust her"?

im loving the stargate/tok'ra vibes of transistor in general, but especially having read stargate brotherhood by the ever-lovely esama. do Desmond and Altaïr like share brainspace or is it more than they just communicate telepathically?

The Transistor AltDes AU for those curious.

He didn’t need to break away from the Assassins because he and Altaïr decided to kill every single red in Abstergo’s Rome facility… which includes Lucy.

They run away afterwards, with the Sword of Altaïr having the properties of a Sword of Eden, including a shockwave that manages to destroy surveillance cameras and other recording devices.

The most they were able to save from the recording are videos of Desmond walking before the sword glows gold and the recording ends.

They don’t necessary thought it was Desmond until they learned that Lucy died by being beheaded. Others died from puncture wounds the size of the Sword of Altaïr in vital points of the body or, strangely enough, by what appears to be something similar to thunder strikes (this is, of course, a capability of the Sword of Eden as seen in AC Unity).

Becca and Shaun definitely believes that Desmond has fallen into the madness of the Bleeding Effect and they’re torn between wanting to save him because they believe it’s not his fault, it’s the Bleeding Effect, but also they can never forgive him for killing Lucy.

Bill is actually the one who believes there’s more to it because he believes that Bleeding as Altaïr wouldn’t have Desmond go on a killing spree. He saw Lucy as an enemy that needs to be cut down and, not only that, he might even believe that Lucy being the only one beheaded among them means something (it does, beheading is a common punishment for traitors that must die for the Levantine Brotherhood and it is also the way Umar Ibn-La'Ahad is executed by the Saracens).

Of course, Bill and Rebecca thinks Bill is doing this because he wants to protect his son (which is also true but Bill is also being logical about this)

Oh man, yeeessss. I love Stargate Brotherhood, mainly because I love Stargate and I love esama’s works hahaha. For this one, I think it would be fun if they believe that they’re just telepathically communicating but the truth is it’s sorta true? They’re communicating telepathically… for now but the more Desmond and Altaïr stay together (aka: they talk telepathically), the more their brains sorta… connect with one another. This is a key to how Altaïr can save Desmond later on as I have written in the reblog of the original ask.

My initial idea is that Desmond actually holds the scabbard on his left hand like Virgil in DMC because the sword itself is a one-handed sword so it would work.

But when he’s trying to go incognito, my first thought was a drawing/blueprint storage tube because I remember Blood the Last Vampire XD

But then I remember it looks like this:

And that won’t work because of the wing crossguard of the Sword of Altaïr.

Unless…

the wings can be folded which becomes a clue that the sword can change its form in some ways.

I am so totally normally about this-holy shit it’s actually happening!!!!! I had heard about the new anime years back from a friend, new as in it’s the second anime for DMC as the first came out in 2007 and I thought this one was in development hell and IT’S ACTUALLY A THING!!!!!

Ok so initial thoughts, try to get myself in order XD

I’M SO HYPED FOR THIS!!!!!

This is probably a look into either his past as Tony Redgrave when he was a mercenary OR it’s from 3 when he was first starting the proper demon hunting business after all that happened. That’s all I can tell from this short clip. But the style is so COOL! It’s like it’s from a manga or comic book. Side note they had a comic book series in few volumes but it’s more like watercolor art than traditional look and the novels illustrations look closer to this style which I LOVE.

Im so so so excited for this!!!! I’ve seen some people complaining, not a lot but some and though valid I’m just give a few facts that might ease worries on some things ok? Ok.

1. Castlevani’s director Adi Shankar, is working on this and that show was brutal but also really good! I don’t think I’ve seen much bad about it even if I know there’s people who didn’t like it because it was only part of the Castlevania lore not the entirety

2. Hideaki Itsuno the official director for the DMC series, and the rest of the team from Capcom Japan and America, is gonna be working with Shankar and the rest of the team he has for this. If that doesn’t relieve worries I don’t know what will.

3. It’s confirmed that there’s eight episodes to this first season and there’s FIVE PLANNED and I want that so bad like please please please let them do five for Pete’s sake please please please please-

4. Vergil and Lady are both set to appear!!!! So that leans this more for taking place in or around 3 which means we’re figuring it in somewhere around then

5. If all else fails and you don’t wanna consider this in your canon of events regardless of how it turns out due to personal preference that’s ok! You don’t have to like it and your opinions valid just as much as mine but at the same time please don’t try to ruin it for everyone that is excited and wants to like it ok?

Omg I actually really do love Bioshock I want to replay it too, it was my fixation for about a year or so. :0)

Persona seems fun, a lot of my friends like it and I have a few songs from the ost on my playlist! I never really 100% games but I definitely know it’s hard especially needy streamer overload.

I also quite like stardew I used to play it a lot and slime rancher is so cute, I have the second one. :) also I love tboi I was literally just playing it! I like silent hill aswell. I also love resident evil, :) re5 is my favourite game in the series even if it takes a more action approach! I like wesker. I also wanna play DMC I’ve heard it’s really good.

id love to 100% more of my games but its super super hard to do, i mainly 100% nso so i could do this to my steam account (and so my friends could be like "wtf is wrong with you." LOL)

i love stardew so much, both base game and modded (though i mainly play with mods because its super fun) ive never played the second slime rancher but i have played the first! and i was just playing it last night. tboi is fun i need to get back into it but its got so much to do its a little overwhelming ykwim? sh3 is my favorite in that series and re4 is my favorite in re!! my favorite is ashley or leon i like the both of them a lot :) carlos is a good contender for my favorite. i watched one of my friends play dmc for a little bit and it looked like so much fun and i was like "wait! i can play tjose now even those its been a few years!"

Ending your presentation with one last click of your pointer, you turn to your fellow doctors, resisting the strong urge to roll your eyes. Some of the seniors are already asleep, while those who are a closer to your age are obviously bored to the bone.

You’re seriously considering if you want to even bother asking the audience if they have any further questions when no one was listening in the first place anyways. Well, maybe except for the chairman who had been all ears the whole time.

Meetings like these are just a major waste of time – time you could have used to sleep your fatigue away after having completed a five-hour open heart surgery last night. If it only weren’t for the hospital’s board of directors that implemented this scheme.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare had only encouraged all hospitals to hold conferences like this to support medical-related research, but The Woocheon Group, after having been praised by the ministry itself for pioneering experimental medicine and clinical trials, upped its game, scheduling these quarterly conferences to monthly ones.  

This plan would have sounded engaging to most third parties, but to those who were chosen to create reports, such as yourself, do not find these meetings most pleasant. After all, these month-end reports will also be uploaded to Woocheon’s online journals. Not that these doctors would even read any of those even if published both online or in paper. Unless of absolute necessity as reference, of course.

Your eyes scan over the audience consisting of at least forty doctors until you lock eyes with the one and only Kim Taehyung - infamous for his recently successful cardio-thoracic surgery on a twenty-two year old athlete back at Daegu Medical Center. Unfortunately for you, he’s also the same man who cheated on you for another colleague a few years back. 

He was the reason you left DMC in the first place, unable to continue your career back at the center with such an unhealthy, hate-conducive environment. Obviously, you knew having to work with a cheater and having to face him for at least six days a week wasn’t going to do you any good. Hence, your moving to Seoul to officially pursue your fellowship at Woocheon Medical City. What you never expected though, was Taehyung coming all the way from Daegu to sit in with Woocheon’s internal conferences. 

For what? Why was he here? What reason does he have to suddenly show up like this? 

Whatever his business here was absolutely none of yours, and you promised yourself you were going to be the last person to concern yourself with such. 

“Any further questions?” 

You see Taehyung’s hand raise hesitantly, but retracts it quickly as another raises his hand. As you address the inquiry, you still feel Taehyung’s gaze locked on yours. Nobody dares to ask another question, not wanting to prolong the useless conference any longer. Thankfully, the hospital’s chairman ends the meeting shortly after that.

As you pack your things up while the rest of the crowd files out of the room, you feel someone approach you. In fact, you feel two - with both of the presences extremely familiar. When you look up from your desk, you see Taehyung and Chairman Jung Hoseok nearing the podium you stood behind from.

Taehyung lets the chairman approach you first. Good, at least the man still has a little bit of dignity left in him. “Dr. _______, great presentation today,” Hoseok applauds, “You are a blessing to this hospital,” the chairman adds, placing a hand on the small of your back. 

“All in a day’s work, Chairman Jung,” you give the man a warm smile. Taehyung notices the small gesture and diverts his gaze quickly, as if he was caught watching something private. You smile inwardly, wanting to drop as many hints as possible to let the blonde-haired man he isn't welcome here. 

The chairman finally takes notice of his presence as he turns around, much to your dismay. “Ah! Dr. Kim Taehyung! I wasn’t informed of your arrival… anyways, welcome to The Woocheon Medical City and may I introduce to you one of our best cardiology consultants here…” 

“Dr. __________, of course.” A wide smile forms on Taehyung’s lips, reaching out his hand for a handshake. You hesitate for a split-second - torn between not wanting to be within arm’s reach of your traitorous ex-boyfriend, or maintaining your usual professional demeanor. Maybe it’s best for you to go with the latter, and pretend you two are meeting for the first time. 

“We were colleagues back in Daegu Medical Center.” 

Or maybe not. 

Hoseok’s secretary comes over just in time, informing him of a friend  who wishes to meet him outside as well as the rest of the day’s schedule. “Oh, guess I’ll have to meet that one then,” Hoseok says, turning to the both of you. “Well, I’ll have to leave you both for a moment. I’ll see you both around.” With a short wave, the chairman leaves the two of you to “catch up”.

“There’s nothing to talk about, Dr. Kim. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I still have plenty of things to do.” Deciding not to meet his eyes, you scan the room, sending a silent plea to the last doctor who was getting ready to leave, wishing that he won’t leave you alone with this man. 

Taehyung blocks your sight with his body. Clenching your jaw, you tilt your head at him, waiting on what he has to say now. “Come back to me, please…” A scoff escapes your lips as you roll your eyes at Taehyung.

“I’d even beg on my knees, _______. I’ll do whatever you want, baby.” 

“You on your knees?” You raise an eyebrow.

“I am a changed man.” 

“Fuck you, Kim Taehyung.” 

“By all means, ________, please.” Rolling your eyes at your two-timing ex, you continue packing up, making sure you won't forget anything else on the desk. Funny how he can even extract innuendos from your display of hatred. At this point, Taehyung had already rounded the table and is now standing beside you.

You figure he’s fiddling with the projector (for all you care), that is, until you feel his warm breath fanning against your nape. His close proximity instantly gives you a chill and before you can turn to face him, he already has you trapped between his body and the podium. 

Taehyung can't hide the smirk that graces his lips when he sees you gulp. Fueled by your reaction, he proceeds to reach for the clicker by the opposite end of the desk, bending you a little bit forward, all the while pressing his erection against your ass. 

When he feels you hold your breath in, it only spurs him on, slowly grinding against you. “T-Tae…” you whisper out brokenly, weakly pushing away his firm hold on your waist. “You’re not…” All coherent thoughts get drained from your head when he takes your breasts in his hands, kneading them gently through your shirt,  “...s-supposed to do….” 

The door opens all of a sudden and the janitor enters, holding a plastic roll in his hands. Taehyung abruptly takes his hands off you, placing them inside his pockets instead. Thankfully, the janitor only takes notice of you and Taehyung’s presence after checking the trash bin by the last row and not when the latter had his hands all over you. “Oh, sorry Doc! I thought everybody had left already. I’ll just come back later.” Bowing once in your direction, he leaves quickly just as he had arrived. 

As you turn around to confront Taehyung about his brazen behavior, he’s already there, suddenly connecting his lips with yours. Nearly loosing your footing at the unexpected action, Taehyung instinctively places his hands on your back, pushing you further towards him. You place your palms against his chest, not wanting to get scandalized by making out with a guest. “Taehyung…”

The blonde-haired man pulls away from the kiss, only to attach his lips on that certain spot on your neck that ultimately gets you weak in the knees. ‘Does he remember?’ You think, mind getting hazy over the feeling of his pliant mouth on your skin after all these years. Then again, your mind betrays you with the vivid image of him fucking your friend in your very room – inside the same apartment you shared with that friend he cheated on you with.

Your judgment gets clouded once more as he fumbles with your shirt, unbuttoning the first one – enough to leave a hickey just above the valley of your breast. Taking your bottom lip between your teeth to hold in the moan the threatens to escape your mouth, your fist tightens around the fabric of his collar.

Sliding the swiveling chair from underneath, Taehyung pushes you down onto the cushion of the seat. As he kneels to the ground, your heart beats rapidly in your chest, the anticipation causing to form a few beads of sweat by your hairline. Pleasure shoots through your core as he hikes your skirt up, rubbing his hands all over your thighs.

For the sake of your sanity, you don’t say another word to Taehyung who also had his eyes trained on your ring. Quickly you grab your things off the desk, not sparing your dejected ex-boyfriend a look. As you reach the door, you rest your head on the hard plastic, “I’m happy now, Taehyung. Please respect that.” With a sigh, you open the door, not daring to take a look back. 

Taehyung nods silently, looking away from your figure as a tear rolls down his cheek, regret and longingness weighing on him heavily.

I’d also like to announce that @thephantomporg84 is now masquerading as @derelict-stranger, and I got a few messages a few days ago about how she was gonna take down her account, and how she wants me to block all of you, which is ridiculous as you are all blogs that I have known and followed way before her and also I don’t know you either. I told her that I didn’t want to be involved in her drama, but here I am. 

It’s kinda hard for me to make this post, as I genuinely thought that she was cool in the beginning - she helped to give me more DMC asks in my inbox, and she always reblogged my stuff, as I’ve been trying to make it with the big guys - like @myfairmidnightladyspade.

But I saw the stuff that she says online to you all, and I think I got some anon messages from her asking if I was a terf or not... and yeah - my heart broke. I feel like I have been deceived in some way. What I wanted to be there was someone who was cool, and funny to talk to, but turns out that person is petty, heartless, immature and straight up spiteful.

I may have to justify myself in why I got messages from her - I was only trying to console her, but to do it in a neutral way as I wanted no part in her drama.

Also - i’m probably not gonna show any evidence for how much she sucks cause there’s tags and anon posts dedicated to that sort of thing

I want you on tumblr, and you on Reddit to find her, and in the /v/ section of 4chan to block her and report her for all she’s done. I want you to wipe her existence from the internet until there is nothing left.

From where I’m looking, all of this started because you don’t like Vergil from the Devil May Cry games and you don’t like the plot of 5, which seems extremely stupid to me, as he’s only a small-ish part of 1, one of the best boss-fights in 3 and just a mere mention in 4. The fact that you need to incessantly attack content creators who merely like him is stupid. Either keep those opinions to yourself, ignore them, or do my favourite -> stick ‘em up your big stupid ass.

It’s also stupid that when people merely like him - you have to bring in your own shitty opinions. No one asked you what you thought, and I’m pretty sure you’re actively seeking out fights with people just to feel good about yourself. It’s also super hypocritical of you ragging on about how much Vergil sucks, when you go crazy for Kylo Ren, as they share some similarities in terms of their vibes and traits. (Yeah - I see you asking for smutty Kylo Ren x Reader requests online.....) Why do you get pissy when people like villainous fictional characters - do your knickers

What I just want to know is what kind of personal gratification you get when you actively hate on a character, and what kind of gratification you get when just because someone disagrees with you - that you have to result using death threats, rape threats, pedophilia threats, racism, slurs, and ableism,  transphobia, alt-right rhetoric, neo-Nazi shit, pro-Trump, and homophobic comments to content creators just doin’ their own thing. Is it just to feel like the bigger man, is it to make yourself sound smarter than the other person (Cause you don’t) - like what actually motivates you, what actually makes you want to shit on other people’s parades, huh? Sounds to me like you need to get a life.

The fact that you always need to play the victim is sad and pathetic too:

- That you’re on the spectrum: - Okay, there are a lot of people who are on the spectrum here on tumblr. But they don’t use it as an excuse to justify shitty behaviour especially if it’s unitentional. as I’m sure they and the people they know are. I’m sure they apologise and try to get on with life like how NT people do. As you know - a lot of people of the spectrum feel like they’re being treated as sub-human being babies that do nothing but screech all the time, and they’re taking action to change those perceptions. - That you use depression as an excuse - I’m kinda sympathetic to the whole mental health issues thing. I have them too. In fact, I am a hot mess. But I don’t use that to excuse me hurting other people with intention, and I’m sure many others don’t either. At least 1/4 or 1/3 will have some mental health issues in their life, and yeah, it sucks, and it’s common but it doesn’t make them exempt from them being called out on their shitty acts. the fact that so many people are and can be mentally ill doesn’t make you special, and it doesn’t give you a free pass to attack others.

- The fact that you try to bait people into making anti-semitic comments, so you can call them anti-semitic. Dude, that’s low. I’m pretty sure that’s gaslighting and manipulation as well. You don’t get the right to use your religion/race in that way as a defence when you’re feeling attacked so that you come off a better person. I’m friends with many jewish people, and they’d never have the gall to do that. I know that your peeople have had it rough, but you can’t use that in an argument just to prove that the other one is a piece of shit, when it is in fact you. I’m muslim, a WOC, and ancestrally speaking, from a country that your so-beloved president essentially banned their right to seek a better life in the states. For as long as I can remember - I’ve seen news about my kind being universally hated, I’ve been brought up in a post-9/11 world where for as long as I can remember that me and our kind are the enemy (so I can sympathise) - but you don’t see me and other muslims here using those petty tactics that you use, because unlike you, we’re not myopic and we know that won’t get us anywhere.

I mean, this behaviour sounds bratty and childish - so I was thinking, she’ll probably grow out of it. Then I find that you’re in you’re mid-twenties, and I think “you really haven’t grown up at all, have you?”, and honestly it just makes the behaviour worse as you are resulting to middle school/high school tactics -> especially making me block all those people, calling them sociopaths and evil bitches. This ain’t high school or Mean Girls, moron, this is a fandom. A place where people can create, share, like and comment on content that makes you happy. I don’t think you understand what that means - cause all I see, and everyone sees is you spewing hatred everywhere. Fandoms are supposed to make you feel included, feel happy, feel safe, be a place to make friends. I don’t think you know that, and I don’t think you are even smart enough to realise that you are the reason why our fandom isn’t happy.

And honestly, at this point, the hatred you are getting is well deserved. You deserve to feel like shit if all you are going to do is make others feel like shit.

I’ve been called nomadic by several people. It is true that I don’t associate home with a specific location, but rather with a place where I feel comfortable and I can read, write and do my creative things. Therefore, the question of being back or going away is a tricky one. Is it even a goodbye or a welcome back when you feel at home in many different places? I’m writing this post because I’ve been back in Kenya for about 2.5 weeks now and planning to stay for longer. I want to share the creative projects I’m doing here.

My stay here now is different from the last time though. The first time I came to Kenya to do research for my master thesis which is finished now. This time I’m back for love and to see if I can make a life for myself here with all the skills I’ve learned so far in life.   The work on this quilt occupied most of my previous six months in Kenya and the five months I spend in the Netherlands to finish my studies. Now, the quilt top is finished and the quilt is ready to be quilted. When you quilt you sew through all the layers of a quilt to keep the layers together. I already made a start with the quilting as you can see in the picture:

Crazy quilt blanket

This project was started on the aeroplane to Kenya. The top is made from leftovers of The Kenyan Quilt and an old scarf. Part of the scarf is used in some tote bags I made as presents. However, the scarf fabric was so soft I wanted to use it as a blanket as well. I call it a crazy quilt because I’m using many different embroidery stitches to sew through the layers. In this way, I am teaching myself to embroider.

This piece is part of an art trade where I get awesome dragon scale gloves. The pattern is by Lyndisfarne Cross Stitch, who makes trademarked Discworld patterns. The Discworld series are satirical fantasy books by one of my favourite authors Terry Pratchett (GNU). Check them out if you like fantasy, humour or social commentary.

Unconventional X stitch giant octopus cross stitch

It always looks amazing to combine something most people associate with homeliness, such as cross-stitch, with something macabre. Most of the patterns Unconventional X stitch (UXS)  creates are like that. I am a fan of the work UXS  does and what that means for the cross-stitch community. UXS their work helps to reach a bigger audience for cross stitch because of the original patterns they offer. As a tribute to that effort, I decided to make one of their patterns for myself. I finished a big part of the bottom and it is exciting to see this pattern come to life. The fabric is from Jodyri Designs.

This pattern is made by another person in the cross-stitch world I greatly admire: Pinkythepink. The pattern is based on original artwork by Euclidstriangle. Both my love for dragons and bold colours is big, so when I saw this pattern, I had to make it. I was not aware of a large amount of speciality thread and stitches this pattern uses though, many I had never seen before! But I won’t let that surprise stop me. I will rather see it as a learning opportunity to expand my skills and knowledge of cross-stitching. So far, I love the process of learning how to use the speciality thread.

This is a big cross stitch project I brought to Kenya last time, and since it’s not finished yet I carried it again. This is a kit from AlieExpress I ordered to see if they’re any good. For the longest time, I was very suspicious about the thread choices of this kit. However, the past week I started filling in the top right corner and it is coming together nicely now. Thank God for perseverance.

I wanted to make my boyfriend a coat of many colours. However, I don’t know how to do sew clothes yet. So, this badge is going to be the first step to achieve my bigger plan. The picture below gives you an idea of what I’m going for.

What will I do in Kenya?

My goal is to continue my research into the future of pastoralism and conservation. In the coming months, I’ll be writing proposals and meeting with people to decide which exact direction to take with my work. Besides research, I also want to write for non-academic publications about my research and experiences in Kenya. One place is the Dutch Website WereldWijven. I believe it is important to share your research and experiences with other people. If there is a way to make people benefit from the research, I will find it and execute it.

One of the events I joined so far to work out research plans is the Camel Caravan organised by IMPACT, the organization I collaborated with for my research. The Camel Caravan is a yearly event that aims to create awareness about the challenge pastoralist people face and the importance of the Ewaso Ng’iro river in their lives. During that caravan, we walked through pastoralist areas and met many people with stories about the challenges they face. It was a great inspiration for future work. But I not only went to Kenya for my career. I also fell in love and  I want to give that love a chance.

So me and Angelic got to talking last night about the DMC timeline and how it actually omitted the novels and was a cut page because the DMC timelien was supose to be up to intrepretation just like the ages of voltron characters and this was done to aviod discorse on rather or not the books were legit since the novels that take place after he parts ways with Lady in the end of 3 and before he meets trish in begining of 1 around the time after Lucias death in 2. (lucia being hintead art as another one of his first demon hunting partners the other his canon feancee’ Beryl but shit goes down part of the plotline and they break up its a plot thing SO NO SPOILERS you really want to read the novel if your a BIG DMC fan. it will give you a better insite into Dantes mindset around women.)

well the “offical guyde book” was the smae deal with the timeline it was a headcanon that got published when it should not have because canon was open to individual influince (being rather or not you read the novels.

artists do this to aviod having to go into information they consider to be irrelivant and or self explanitory just liek its self explanitory that all the paladins were Students at the Garrison (under their real names at one point in time) so ergo however you see the garrison should be refelcted in how old you see the paladins. this has not happened for the very reason there was not a DMC timeline ever supose to be published.

I did some digging it turns out the misprint of the Dropped page in the DMC Trade Paperback was only printed in about 500 copies and most are listed as “destoryed” meaingn with a rateing of 2 or lower “missing pages, water damage, ripped covers and basicly a very poor quality not even useful as a reader but more as parts to repair other copies. soem were even traded in and destoryed by publisher, But GET THIS again here “Indago books” was said to have copies of this book but the book was missing the holografic centerfold the offical one had that was YOU GUESSD IT a nodd to the novel in the fact it had a full color image of Dante and his original two partners! Lucia and Beyrl in the background.

so thanks to soem fake distribtuors there are a list of 800 FALSE copies on the market.

We wager that Tay who is a advid Anti Danshura (Dante/Hitoshura) along with one of her friends more than liekly has a fake but it should benoted the fake is MISSING the holografic centerfold that is present in all the originals.so voltron fandom; Fam dont worry you arent teh only peeps to fall for that shit. In this timeline for nocturne it’s 100% possible for Hitoshura to not only be older than Dante by literaly hundreds of years, its possibel for him to be a force behind rebellions power and That got me thinking that would be an awsome muse to do but the DMC community is another brand of toxic in most instances so only if I get a dante instred will I try that boat.

1: Are you named after someone? well. embarrassingly, yeah. my dad already had 3 kids when he had me so he was kind of over the whole creating & naming shindig so he was lazy when i was born he was like “if its a boy, name it ned and if it’s a girl, name it kelly” (if you’re australian or just super buffed up on your history, you might get the joke) and my mom (especially being american, i think) was super offended and was all !!! I am a quilter. In this article, I will share my story of how I exhibited my first quilt in a national exhibition. The focus will be on how, step by small step, I found the courage to do so. This article is not only for quilters though. My hope is that this article will inspire everyone to find the guts to share their art, with friends, strangers and peers alike. How I convinced myself to exhibit my quilts

In the photo on top, you can see me and my quilting friends at the exhibition. I am the one in the orange pants. The quilt with the triangles and the yellow border is mine. This was in April 2019. By that time I had been quilting for about five years, of which the last two or three years intensely. However, for a long time, I was quilting in secret. Sure, my closest friends knew about it. Also, my mother knew because she is the one who taught me. But beyond those people, I was very much in the quilting closet. I was embarrassed and afraid people would laugh at me for my old-fashioned art.

Am I not too young to quilt?

How do you explain you are a student in the prime of your youth who spends her free time drinking wine and cutting up fabric alone in her room? Besides, my style is also unconventional and I like to use techniques and fabrics that other quilters might call wrong, at least that is what I assumed. Lastly, I feared I was not good enough to be accepted by serious quilting people. All turned out to be my negative assumptions, and exhibiting my art and participating in the quilting world helped me see that.

Once I dared to take steps to get out of the quilting closet I discovered people don’t think me or my art silly. Most of my friends were impressed I had the patience and skills to make my own bags or blankets. Also, familiarizing myself in the quilting world, I discovered that there are many quilters like me who love to break the rules. I was welcomed with open arms together with my enthusiasm, youth and love for the art. I also noticed that I learned much faster once I started to share my work and talk to people about it instead of working on my own in secret. The praise and encouragement I got from people motivated me, and the advice from experienced quilters helped to develop my technique. Through those quilting friends, I also got the opportunity to join my first exhibition.

  How I started sharing my quilts

It is key to find a small group of peers who support each other and push you to test the limits of your skill, creativity and courage. In the quilting world, we call those groups quilting bees. A quilting bee is a group of quilters who gather to quilt together, socialize and to inspire each other.

I took a long time before I dared to join my first quilting bee, though, because I used to fear to put my art out in the world. I started on DA because sharing art with strangers was easier. It felt safer. Of course, I told none of my real-life friends I had an account. However, soon I discovered a passion to share my art and to inspire other people with it. For that, I needed to extend my reach and this website was born, Bella G. Bear Art. The same as with DA, for the first few months, I didn’t tell anyone except strangers about the website for fear of judgement. However, when I eventually told some friends and family members they were encouraging. I started to share links to articles I wrote on my personal Facebook account.

Has my fear disappeared now?

It is my dream is to encourage people with my work to either take up quilting themselves or to be more conscious about the items they buy and discard easily. Because my quilted items are made with attention, skill and time, they are more valuable and counter the fast fashion industry. My aim is to encourage people to think about their consumption habits. One way to fight climate change is to buy fewer items which last us a long time. In the future, I’ll also be selling that kind of items myself. For that, check this website or my facebook page. I discovered that telling many people what you want to achieve is one way to build contacts, get support and ultimately to your opportunity for success.

Although I still fear judgement from time to time,  I keep pushing myself to share my art. However, I also know that it is an insecurity I can overcome. It is not a reflection of my personality or my skills in quilting. Every person has their insecurities and fears and we cannot let those stop us from achieving our dreams or to do some good in the world. Sharing creates a sense of belonging

Besides, even if my quilts were bad I would still share them to show the world that anything made with love and attention is worth sharing. Exhibiting my art showed me my art is worthwhile and also taught me a lot on how to improve it. Exhibiting my quilt in the national exhibition was a key moment for me because I realized my quilt belonged there with all the other quilts. This made me realize that I belong with the other quilters. My quilt was not better or worse than the pieces of my peers, but of equal value. It made me believe that if I keep working and exploring my creativity I have it in me to succeed as an artist. This is the piece I sent in:

Four tips to kick-start sharing your art

My wish is that the tips below will encourage you to start you on the journey to share your art:

Find local groups to join to make friends and learn from each other.

Find local exhibitions for beginners without any major entry requirements.

Plan to go to the exhibit with friends or plan to meet them there. You can discuss all the quilts you see and you can be sure that there are at least some people who love your quilt!

Start small if you are nervous. You don’t have to tell everyone and you don’t have to start with a competition-based exhibition. You can start online on Deviantart or any other social media platforms and slowly work towards bigger, scarier places to share. Any step you can take towards a bigger goal is brilliant. A mountain is climbed by taking the first few steps downhill after all.

Conclusion: Now find bravado yourself!

At my quilt groups, I see a lot of people who fear to showcase their work. They fear their quilts are not interesting or good enough. However, the moment they dare to share their work they only get praise! Most people who love their own artform wouldn’t dream about criticizing people who love the same thing. There are exceptions of course, but they are overshadowed by the positive majority. I know for myself that the moment I started to participate and show my work to other people I started to enjoy my art a thousand times more.

I am a member of the quilting bee you see us in the picture below. We are basting a part of my Kenyan quilt together. We meet every month to talk about our work and to encourage each other to try new things. I feel blessed because my friends are way more experienced than I am, so I can enjoy their absolute wealth of experience. They like my youth and enthusiasm, so everyone wins! Through my quilt group, I participated in the exhibition. I thank them for accepting me in the group and to encourage me. I thank myself to take the step to find a group to join. First, I thought any true artist does everything on their own. Now, I realize that learning from the great and experienced is the smartest and best way to learn.
