"About what?" You asked. Winter could be honest and say that she has been thinking about you which is true. Winter hasnt gone a single day without thinking about you for about 8 months now which bothers her a ton. She keeps telling herself that you are only her best friend and that having feelings for you cant be possible! They just cant!

It isnt just Y/n who caught on how quiet Winter has been her other friends have too.

Berserk is one of the only manga where I've seen multiple men make video essays on how Guts/Griffith is a romance and also (obviously) how their relationship is a central part of the plot (of course all the main character relationships w9uld be important to the plot)

I havent read Berserk yet. I dont have the investment yet to care one way or another how its interpreted. I just find it interesting how the energy is for guts and griffith, compared to say Luffy and Zoro (which you could definitely make an argument for being a very important key relationship in one piece) where i dont see many men being like "this is romantic"

I wonder if its the audience the type of story attracts (one piece attracts - or once did - younger people, more fun adventure-watching types at least as it kicks off - even though it does have quite big meaningful themes, berserk is gory and kicks off with Dark Fantasy and politics which is more of an i guess Game of Thrones type audience so they might already be expecting to find more complex themes or storytelling besides what's stated outright)... just thoughts im mulling over

Id also say... one piece is more about friendship generally (from what little ive seen of berserk), and i do think that nice focus Away from much romance also just means less people are going to mention an argument for a ship existing or not... just because romance/intensely close specific relationships arent the focus so much as Team-Closeness. If a ship isnt important to the story's themes, i totally get why it wouldnt get broader focus outside shipping specific fandom like romance fanfics etc. (Kingdom Hearts in that way is similar, although I'd argue a bit more specific-relationships focused versus team-friends since Riku jealous Kairi is taking his best friend's attention kind of kicks off KH1 plot... you could make a Case Sora loves Kairi or Riku, or both, romantically, and vice versa. But friendship is the point of KH, thats why Sora never does say he likes either romantically, why there's no actual romantic scene outcomes for anyone but disney characters, and why while there's shipping analysis for sure... the story does work and is designed to have no explicit romance. There are some Key Friendships that are important over group-friendships in terms of the effect on plot - Xehanort/Eraqus, Terra/Aqua/Ventus, Axel/Roxas/Xion, Sora/Riku/Kairi all the trios of friends basically are influencing each others stories more than other friends they have. But theres not really any specific Romance driving the plot - versus say Final Fantasy X where Yuna/Tidus are a significant plot element).

Hello Yuna! Thanks for the ask, and I definitely had fun! After all, writing for these characters is already plenty of fun! Also, I'm not a cat, I'm a bird-

It takes a while for Mafuyu to warm up to anyone, but if you're related to the music industry, you have a better chance of becoming her friend than most others!

The honor student isn't interested in many things, but the music world actually catches her eye! So when she was suddenly offered a chance to collaborate with another soloist on the internet, she was interested!

Even before the offer appeared, you've been in contact with her, trading tips for songwriting and how to interact with fans! At first, she didn't think much of it, but when the offer appeared, she understood that you definitely wanted to become closer...

She spoke about the offer with the others of the group, and they tended to react positively, but cautiously. After all, you had only written to her, and the rest knew little about you! So, she sends screenshots about your conversations. Let's just say, no one expected them.

Mafuyu, talking about music with someone else!? That was certainly unusual! Maybe she unconsciously though that she could trust you enough? The rest would encourage a collaboration, but only if it remained online for privacy reasons!

Before the call even starts though, you tell her that she doesn't have to worry about putting up an image! You've worked with asshole producers and marketers, so you can take whatever she throws at you! This puts up her guard, but she seems to be intrigued even more...

The call starts, and she does put up the act... At first. She never takes it fully off, but as the call progresses and your casual, relaxed tone makes the atmosphere more comfortable, she starts to lower the mask a bit... The fake expressions slowly become less forced, and her tone as well.

That's only the first one though. She's still hesitant to show you her real stoic self, but she still shows you more than anyone else! She also seems quite invested in the song you're creating together, and even learning a bit about your style...

Not just your style though! She learns about your goals, motivations, song preferences, even just random events of your life you mentioned while you two brainstormed some ideas! It lets her mind rest and not focus too much on the end result...

Sometimes, she randomly DMs you to start a casual conversation, only for her to just listen to you, saying anything that comes to your mind! After that, you two write a bit more, and then log off!

"... Oh, why am I not saying anything? Sorry, I just enjoy listening. Yeah, I was talking a lot the first time, but I prefer it this way. Hm?... Yes, it was acting. I never show my true side to anyone on a first meeting. That includes you, of course."

She could technically just finish writing the lyrics herself in a flash, but she waits for you, for your opinions and participations! She has never worked on lyrics alongside someone else, so it does feel a little strange.

Once you're done though, she feels as if her chest was not just warm, but light. As if there was a weight there she didn't even notice before, and now it was gone... She shows the lyrics to the group so that they combine it with the rest as always!

However, they're surprised to hear Mafuyu speaking so much about the process. It wasn't fast like usual, but by the amount she was talking, they could tell that she really got into it... They will silently agree to partner you two up again soon.

"... Why are you all silent all of a sudden? Hm, was I really speaking that much? You were the ones who asked though. Is it really that out of the ordinary... Hm, now that i think about it..."

She too will notice how she doesn't mind your presence, and voila! You have yourself a stoic girl who enjoys randomly messaging you to hear you speak whatever's on your mind!

Sure, she stays silent most of the time, but you can see that her smile slowly changes as you talk... Maybe, just maybe you're becoming special to her? Maybe you could be able to do more things together? Only time will tell...

Unpopular opinion but

I find yuna boring. I find everything surrounding her. The story,taka,lore more interesting....then her herself.

I feel she could have been done better. And be less....annoying and stiff narratively.

And i pray they don't reduce her to love interest either if they ever decide to make a sequel. Bleh.

I dunno maybe it's just i feel she takes over when jin is the main character. She babies taka. And doesn't really get called out for when she does mess up. And when she was,it was just brushed aside.

I get it. War. Bad. Trauma drama llama. Ugh. But holy shit GET TO THE POINT! some areas it drags on and kinda sidelined characters i feel needed waaaaay more development and "screentime"

Anyways. Jin is baby and i still love him. Just sometimes he suffers "main character/protag" syndrome. But it's not his fault.

Other than those few things. And the characters suffering from taking stupid pills at times. The game is absolutely amazing. And i still would play it again and again even with the flaws.

this is my diary btw so im gonna write whatever

me rambling abt music i listened to

i used to love the metal band wintersun. ive basically listened to the album wintersun thru grade 9 and 10. because back then mp3 players had little space and mine only fit that one album. i listened to it daily for hours. for two years. yeah lol

i liked venom too i guess...

oh my fav emo band was the used. love love love. it really got me thru my worst teenage depression. i just listened to the album up and down for hours singing along whenever i was alone. so much sad

i listened to green day too, just that american idiot album. i was broke af as a teen and only had a handful of albums. my moms boss actually burned me a copy of american idiot! i was sooo happy that she did that. my mom used to clean ppls homes and i went with her a few times to help her and this lady had a really nice place and a big music ...anlage (lol) station? and she had green day and stuff and i told my mom how surprised i was that a middle aged lady was so cool. my mom told her next time and she burned me some cds :D so cool

my parents were usually v dismissive of me being goth and listening to metal music so this really meant a lot

in fact, my dad once said i was a psychopath and crazy and not right in the head! haha. now im grown up and dont call him. suck it, loser. thats what u got for abusing ur kid.

anyway, what else did i listen to? i had a last.fm account and listened to a lot of music but now i can barely recall. some japanese rock artists def. some handpicked metal songs that were popular that i got from youtube.

kate nash, yeah, my girl! i think thats from later. all her songs are super, she first started with very tv britpop, but relatable. foundation is a perf song. and over time she released more songs but she did develop a lot musically, going a bit more rock at times. super awesome. i was at one of her concerts this year. amazing experience. i love her.

k.i.z. okay. yeah. thats a german hiphop band. their thing is satire, i guess. how should i explain it. meh. i dont listen to them anymore because i started feeling uncomfortable with how they do things. they do a lot of social commentary, but they also used a lot of slurs, in like, ironic ways. that was perf acceptable back then.

i was thinking about this when i got up this morning and also i think it makes sense w/ yuzare making the big deal about kengo being light and human even tho he has no biologically human parents. philosophical question about what makes someone a human metaphysically aside, kengo is trigger. in traditional ultra terms you might say the ultra is the Light, a something that enables humans to give meaning to the indifferent chaos of the universe. but trigger is light and darkness. in trigger i dont think these are moral terms, they don't correlate to good and bad, rather, good and bad have been constructed as being the same as light and darkness even though they arent. the Eternity Core looks like light but it has no ontological moral value. kengo accepting "darkness" is accepting this other force in the universe as something that can be good and constructive as well... good and bad are qualities that we can bring out of ourselves and put into the forces of the universe.

so kengo is the incarnation of trigger's goodness (which is, in traditional ultra terms, the Light) as a human, but if goodness (light) can become human, humans can also become light (goodness), which is what yuna and shizuma do for kengo and ultimately what each of the characters is capable of doing.

that the light can become human and that humans can become light is a classic ultra theme i guess, but trigger does this in a really interesting way with kengo that relativizes the moral value of the light/darkness dichotomy while preserving an objectively positive value for kindness/love/acceptance itself.

i actually really liked the weird time travel kengo-trigger plotline like it makes my head hurt to think about but i think that's kind of the point?? maybe it's my theological background but in theology theres a point where theologians are like "yeah this is brainmelting but you know. Mysterium Tremendum." and to me ultras can be kind of like that. like i love it when ultras are just Guys like x or z or so but also since the beginning there's also been the element of ultraman as the Other, as something Outside our experience and alien to our comprehension, something quasi-divine, and i think tiga/dyna/gaia and by analogy trigger and decker do the same thing to an extent. and i like it.

i love the idea of the light incarnating as a human baby. and kengo's mom just finding him. i just wish he had hatched out of an egg. anyway that was wild but i thought it was good.

Some of the things I wished the Ultimania could explain properly but never did: why did the best swimmers were sent to the underwater canal of Via Purifico to be killed (I’d say they got the you-are-not-worthy-to-be-sent-to-the-actual-Via execution actually, but Evrae was waiting for them in there, so idk) -- and, is Tidus the dream of Bahamut’s Fayth?

It is commonly believed so, and I like to think so too -- except it is not the actual truth. Which is way boring than anything else haha. The book reveals Bahamut, being the most powerful and probably ancient Fayth, “is there to act as a representative of all existing Fayth, who share the same thoughts and consciousness”. Fayth were weapons Summoners from Zanarkand used to fight -- as they did not uniquely rely on machines. While the Temple makes Spirans believe they were people who willingly gave up their lives to help people find a way to defeat Sin, in reality, they’re older than Sin itself and were victims of what Ultimania calls ‘forbidden rituals and magic’ invented by Yu Yevon himself -- basically the same ritual he taught his daughter, and that Yunalesca used to turn a guardian into the ‘Final Aeon’. Caging the soul into stone and manipulate the pyreflies to call Aeons as means to fight the War.

So the Aeons used to long for life and for their hometown, Zanarkand; that’s why many of them used to wander around the Dream city, out of nostalgia. Bahamut is the only example we are given, seeing how he supposedly hanged around Tidus from the very beginning-- even before Jecht came to Spira. All hints that he is deeply linked to Tidus -- he’s there when Tidus used to try and emulate his father, there when Tidus is told his father may never come back again... heck, Bahamut even stops time for a moment, to try to calm Tidus down during Sin’s attack. The Fayth realize they ‘must move forward’ (something they had forgotten in 1000 years) and try to stop the dream the moment Jecht becomes Sin -- a corruption of a dream.

“ The fact that Jecht, a man from Dream Zanarkand, had become Sin had a considerable impact on the behaviour of all Fayth, for someone created to be eternally at peace and in dream-like life had been caught in the terrible spiral of tragedy of Spira. This was a problem for the Fayth, who had always appeared indifferent to Spira’s status quo, and made them realize their dream had to find its end, even if that’d made them disappear. ”

It’s interesting. It implies that, had Auron chosen to be the Final Aeon instead, Tidus would have never come to Spira, the dream would have never ever ended and Yuna’s story would have been just a continuation of the spiral too. So why would Bahamut’s Fayth insist to watch over Tidus even before the dream got corrupted and his father touched Sin, then ?  As a sucker for symbolism myself, I’d say it was predestination -- no coincidence; the Fayth might have sensed it, or known it that those two would have become more than mere dreams -- it’s never revealed. For example, I always believed Bahamut had chosen to appear as a child for that reason too: not only it’s very ironic the most powerful Fayth appears as a little kid, the one most difficult to obtain too (and that Braska got first-- symbolism !); but Tidus hardly trusted adults, and still kinda doesn’t (he even says it, thus not yet considering an adult himself), while he was revered by and adored children. As a child, he could keep an eye on him easily, and the statue clearly shows the ‘sacrifice’ for Bahamut was not a child -- the soul took that form on purpose. The fact Tidus knew Bahamuth from childhood but never questioned the fact he didn’t grow, can make us even think he believed him to be an imaginary friend haha !  Still...

“He has nothing to do with the Summoning of Tidus or of the Dream City” -- indeed, for that’s mainly the job of the Fayth on Gagazet: they were the remaining alive inhabitants of Old Zanarkand, gathered on top of the mountain by Yu Yevon who transformed them into a Fayth for himself and the Dream City -- (consider that Old Zanarkand was a monarchy, Yu Yevon its king/dictator and in the novel, people of Bevelle call Yunalesca the ‘Summoner Princess of Zanarkand’ -- their reign was not a pacific one, as they did brainwash people, even kids, to send them to murder Summoners in Bevelle; now it kinda makes sense that Shuyin, an inhabitant of that very Zanarkand, didn’t want his lover Lenne to go to war too).

Yet Bahamut is the one speaking to Tidus, visiting him in dreams, revealing his true nature to the boy and, at one point, even appearing to him as he almost risked to die at sea in Djose, to bring him back to safety !  Yes, technically, Tidus is the product of the dream of the Yu Yevon which is supported by the Wall of Fayth, but willingly or not, his bond with Bahamut was there, forming even before the story had even started. It is collectively believed, and rightly so ! -- that their bond is similar to the one between Yuna and Valefor, because it kinda is, despite him not being Bahamut’s direct dream.

But wait... so I was bummed. I need to finish translating the little trivia of the FFX novelization in the Ultimania Omega but I don’t know how much other info about Bahamut’s link with Tidus will be there, honestly. But in X2 Ultimania, in Yuna’s POV story/thoughts, there’s something interesting: in the Good Ending, Yuna says she somehow ‘felt’ Tidus had returned:

“ You’re now emerging, somewhere in Spira. I can feel that. The fragments you left here, of the person who has been watching over me anywhere I went, finally came together as one to be born. Not as a dream, but as a reality. It feels as if I’m pressing my ear on your chest to hear your heartbeat. We’re connected. Valefor and Bahamut -- it’s something akin to the bond that connects the Aeons’ souls. I can hear your whistle ! ”

Yes, Bahamut might have appeared to her in the Farplane as, again, ‘representative of all Fayth’, to gather up the fragments of Tidus’ thoughts and pyreflies and grant him life at Yuna’s wish. But there is, as always, something more. The same something they did write Yuna to feel, in there -- ink on a page, Valefor and Bahamut. And I’m so grateful for that: it makes sense and gets the two of them a beautiful, strong meaning to their bond and lives too...

Its never easy for someone to date a billionaire. Yes, you get all the shopping and expensive things but the time consumes too much. Its sad to say but your a doctor. A heart surgeon at that. “Who are you?” With brows furrowed you waited, scooting to the side where your phone was put away in a drawer. “Consider me,” the man pushed for a moment, “A friend of Jimin’s. You can call me Suga.”

You could hear buzzing coming from the drawer and he smiled, “That must be him. Find the phone.”

You made a move to run but one of the guys gripped your arm. He clicked his tongue shaking his finger at you, “That’s not how you treat company now is it?”

“What do you want?” You asked trying to push against the restraints of the man’s grip. He smiled warmly, “Well you see, I don’t have any problem with you Y/n. You seem like a smart and hardworking girl, so why you’re with him? I will never understand. But that is not why I’m here.”

“The reason why I am here is because, I am tired of seeing pretty girls like yourself get hurt by men like Jimin.” He took a step closer to you. “What does that have to do with you?” You spat out, wincing as he lifted his hand to you.

Pushing your hair back he smiled, “Well let’s just say someone I hold dearly was in your position once upon a time.”

“So I want you to understand that my problem is not with you,” Suga said reaching into the inside pocket of his blazer, a picture of you with your sister and father, “Or with them. And unless you want to see them get hurt, I advise you to leave Jimin. For your own good that is.”

- You didn’t return home last night. It had left Jimin up majority of the night, your text for reassurance doing anything but that. “She’s not back yet,” he huffed looking to Jungkook as the two waited, “She won’t even answer my text.”

“She said she was sleeping over at Yuna’s, relax she’s fine,” Jungkook tried telling his friend. Jimin only shook his head, pacing back and forth, “I know but...no she’s fine. She has to be. She’d tell me if she was in trouble, right?”

“Yes, she would,” Jungkook sighed standing up, “So why don’t you get some sleep. You’re looking sort of psycho right now.”

The sun hadn’t even fully come up when you arrived home. You spent the night at your dad’s house, fixing up your room that had been used for storage. Your sister and him bombarded you with questions left and right, asking why you were leaving Jimin. They never understand the kind of people Jimin knew, or that you wanted to make sure your family was safe over being with who you loved.

Jimin was passed out on the couch, still in a suit and a few empty glasses scattered on the coffee table. You were as quiet as a mouse, trying to hurry into your bedroom to get your things. You didn’t want him to see you. He’d try and make you stay or ask why you were leaving. You hoped you could just go, not have to listen to his promises, not feeling like a burden to him.

You flickered the light to your bedroom on. Going into the closet and pulling a chair up. You stood on it, reaching a high shelf to pull your old duffel bag out. You hadn’t used the worn out bag since you first moved in. Not even when you’d go on vacation with Jimin, he’d buy you suitcases from high-end brands instead. You were leaving him, but you were only taking what you came with.

You threw the bag on the bed, quickly opening your drawers and pulling out what you could remember. A lot had changed since you moved in with him, but you could still remember your worn out things from the luxurious things he’d buy you. You shoved your laptop in, not caring much as you put shoes and clothes and everything you could think of.

“What do you think you are doing?” You could feel your heart drop, not wanting to turn around and face the reality. Jimin took a cautionary step toward you, heart racing as he got a closer look at what you were doing.

“Um, Yuna and I are spending the weekend at a spa, I forgot to tell you?” You lied, clearing your throat. You could see the way he pressed his teeth tightly, eyes narrowed down on your belongings as you tried blocking them. “Are you trying to lie to me right now? Right to my face?” He asked pulling out your old slippers from the bag, “What. Are. You. Doing?”

“I already told yo—I just gotta go for a little bit,” you bit your lip, “Jimin stop it.” You reached for the things he pulled out of your bag. “You’re leaving me aren’t you?” He asked through gritted teeth.

“Jimin I—“

“Why?” He asked, suddenly pushing your bag onto the floor, a crack being heard from your laptop hitting the ground, “And don’t fucking lie to me.”

“I just have to go okay? I have to go, please just understand and give me space,” you reached for your things with shaky hands. He grabbed your arm, pulling you toward him, “I don’t understand though. Tell me what’s going on. Are you in trouble? I can help you. Just tell me what it is. Is it money? Is your dad in the hospital again? I’ll pay the bill don’t worry about it baby, okay? Is it your sister—“

“No! I just, I need space okay? I don’t think I can do this anymore—“ “Y/n!” His body trembled, “Listen to me. What is going on? You can’t just leave me like this and not tell me why. You can’t just leave me. Please,” he reached for your hand pulling it to his chest, “Please don’t leave me. Whatever it is we can figure it out together, just like we have for the last four years.”

“Jimin I—“ he dropped down to his knees, arms wrapping around your waist, “No. Please Y/n. Please don’t leave me.”

“You don’t understand,” you could feel a tear slip from your eye as he planted soft kisses on your hand repeatedly, “I have to.”

“Why?” He shouted, eyes growing red, “Why do you have to leave me? Am I not enough for you? I’ve tried to give you everything, and I’m not asking for anything back but for you to love me. Do you not love me?”

“Jimin, he’s going to come after my family if I stay with you,” you finally said. He sniffled, looking at you with a cold expression slowly raising to his feet, “What did you just say?”

“I shouldn’t have said anything. Please just let me go,” you sighed but he gripped your shoulders roughly, “Who is he?”

“Jimin, you’ll only make it worse. You can’t always protect me,” you argued but he shook his head. “Who the fuck was it?”

“Some guy named Suga.”

“Look at me,” he held your face in his hands, “Unpack your things, right now baby. You’re not going anywhere, I won’t let you. Let me take care of him okay? I’m sorry for putting you in this.”

“Bu—“ “I’ve got it baby, don’t worry.”

“Are you upset with me?” You asked as the pad of his thumb wipe: a tear away, “I’m sorry.”

“No baby,” he kissed you lightly, “Of course not. But if you try leaving me again, I will be.”
