continued from here for @alicelyttle
It had been a bit of a struggle to find a dress for the masquerade, but Wendy had finally settled on a light blue with floral stitching on the skirt. It felt like her: not too overstated, but just enough of a step up to be considered appropriate for a ball. Getting accessories together was an entirely different problem that she had to face, but thankfully, it wasn't alone. Alice had a much more colorful sense of style than she ever had, which made her seem perfect for the job at hand, which was to match something she already had with her new dress. "I haven't worn that in forever," she admitted as she turned back to her friend, recognizing the necklace she'd pulled. "That was my mother's. I do believe she gave me the matching earrings for it, if I can just find them ..." Wendy trailed off as she began to sift through her tray of earrings. "I don't know that I can last in heels all night, but Phil is much, much taller than me. I don't think I could dance with him in flats if I even tried," she pointed out with a laugh.

There was a peculiar aura to Alice that left a constant intrigued feeling within Catherine whenever she was around the girl. She seemed fragile, but also like she could take out an entire platoon of men with ease. She was strange. Cat liked strange. After wrapping up for the night and letting her hair down Cat spotted the girl sitting alone near the bar. She's still here, Cat thought to herself before walking over to her. "Why are you still here?" she asked. "Surely you finished everything you've needed to by now. No need to linger around. It's getting late, you should head home. Did you need a ride?"

There had been one singular night that Wendy had agreed to go to Wonderland with Peter and the boys, simply because it was the only option they’d agree to besides trying to mess with Hook at Neverland. It had been one of the most beautiful places she’d ever been, but a little too much for her liking. The only time she’d ever consider going back was for one reason only, and it was to meet the blonde girl she’d befriended that night that she was there, Alice. It seemed like a better idea to just meet her for tea sometimes at the Lucky Cat whenever she was in town to visit her parents. “Alice!” she greeted excitedly upon seeing her enter, snapping her book shut that she’d been reading while waiting for her to arrive. Wendy hadn’t seen her since anything had happened at the bonfire or before. “I need to get you to come stay with me in Amity Park sometime, or we need to be better about finding each other at big things. Please don’t make me take another trip to Wonderland to have to see you before another few months pass,” she joked, sliding back into her seat after giving the blonde a quick hug.

“are you sure we should be doing this outside?” wiggling his brows as he shrugged off his jacket, the sun was radiant, “we could have witnesses--” lips brushing against her lips teasingly before he stepped back, “i don’t want anyone to witness you like that, babe -- defeat is never a good look on you” turning on his heel and taking twelve steps carefully before facing her once more, wand in hand.

Wonderland was a strange place. Strange people went there and James was sure he fit in enough to not raise enough eyebrows to get by. He may not exactly fall into the crowd but the people there were either on enough drugs or drunk enough to not notice. Usually he sat at the bar, watching the people on stage and having some drinks. Sometimes he’d do lines in the bathroom and sometimes people would join him. It was strange. Everything about the place screamed strange. James liked a particular girl there and that was Alice. She, herself, was strange but he was drawn to her. When she went behind the bar he flashed her a smile and beckoned her over. “Been looking for you tonight. Where were you hiding?”

This was real, and Aurora wasn't in a dream. She could at least breathe a bit of a sigh of relief knowing that much. The two hadn't interacted much when the other girl came into her sleep, whenever she was able to find some, but her face was awfully familiar. The girl had been merely a spectator to what was happening around her, the atrocities that kept her from ever really getting any rest. It had been difficult to describe just how tumultuous they were to anyone who had never truly been inside her head, but the girl here now knew just what that looked like.
"No, it's quite alright, thank you for coming to introduce yourself. I'm Aurora," she replied, returning the light pulse on her hand. "All of them are like that, I'm afraid. I don't sleep very much, as I'm sure you can understand. I don't quite know how to calm them down. Instead, I just try to avoid it, or make sure one of my aunts who I live with will wake me before they can get too violent."
“I’m real,” Alice quickly assured the other woman, feeling apologetic for causing her to doubt her sense of reality; she knew firsthand how discombobulating such a thing could be. It might have been wiser not to even approach Aurora outside of her dreams, but this was a new experience for Alice as well. Her self-preservation instinct had always been outweighed by her curiosity; she couldn’t resist revealing her magical affiliation to a stranger with the trade-off of getting the chance to meet someone she had first encountered in a dream. This was simply too intriguing.
“I have this curious little ability to wander into other dreams when I sleep, you see,” she explained the how in short, rushing to add, “I’m sorry for bothering you, and—I don’t usually interfere in any of the dreams I find myself in, but yours was so…it was a nightmare. It was just unbearable. Are you all right?” She reached for Aurora’s hand, seeking a reassuring squeeze.

Thread: Frank Longbottom & Alice Martin Location: The Martin Residence
he had adjusted his tie too many times to count, fingers nimble from the frustration that tugged at him with the unknown. it was ideal -- that was how his mum had even started the conversation, alice martin was the ideal girl for him, the right one. as selfish as it was -- he wasn’t entirely upset. he barely had time to say hello to a friend let alone date and here he was with a date ready to go on his arm - that was if he could will himself to knock on her door.
clearing his throat, as if there was actually anything caught in it -- he gave the door three clear knocks, the other hand clutching the touch he thought was decent, his mum always said it was the little things that mattered and the bouquet in his hand seemed appropriate. at the slightest crack of the door -- a careful smile stretched his lips, “hello --”

emmeline had been RESTLESS to say the least, she knew better than to wander the halls this late at night and yet lying in her bed seemed far more suffocating than getting in trouble, “i won’t tell if you don’t --” she joked softly as she rounded the corner just to see her favourite puffle, “didn’t know you had rounds tonight --”

Tiberius liked Wonderland. The workers were odd and he was pretty sure they were in no place to judge him. If they did though he didn’t really care. He wasn’t there to impress them. He was there to drink and watch a show. He spotted a certain blonde and made his way over to her. “Where are you lending your talents tonight?” he asked. “I didn’t see you on stage. You know you’re my favorite dancer.” Though it’s likely he’s said that to multiple of the dancers before. “Am I able to steal you away from your duties for a little while?”

As Cat made her exit from the stage after her last performance of the night she was graceful and had an alluring charm giving off from her. She went to the back to sit and count her tips she made for the evening before waiting for the other girls to make their exit. Most of Wonderland was cleared for the night and the patrons were gone, only a few left behind to finish closing duties. Cat had told Alice she would stay back and help her with a part of their current performance so she could stay on track and perhaps make more money. She didn't give her too much of a break, figuring she had enough time to recover from the night after people cleared out. She watched Alice move on stage, showing her some of the moves slowly so she could copy. Cat let her practice on stage as she watched for a while and when Alice was finished and came off stage she smiled and the younger girl. "Much better. I think you'll be better tomorrow. Come in early and we will do a quick run through, just us two. The way you twirled around the pole was much more impressive though." Cat gestured to the chair across from her. "Sit. Do you want me to make us a drink?" she asked as she handed the girl an already pre prepped glass of water to have. "Something stronger than water."
Alice breathed heavily as she stepped down from the stage, walking over to where Cat was seated. She grabbed the nearby towel to wipe at her sweat, smiling wide. She liked Cat, the woman was mysterious and sexy and alluring and everything Alice aimed to be, especially on stage. And she had offered to give Alice tips! She had tried her hardest to apply them now that she could practice on stage after hours, with Cat watching and probably making mental notes.
“How was that?” she asked, taking a seat herself. “Better?” She certainly hoped so, she had tried her hardest to keep everything Cat had said in mind. “I think my legs are going to fall off.”

Berlioz wanted nothing other than to have some fun, not think about any responsibilities or other bullshit going on. He'd came with the intentions of meeting up with friends and having a good time and now that he ended up with Alice that meant only more fun. He was higher than a kite but he'd pretty much had been since he got there. After walking for a while and sipping on an overpriced lemonade Berlioz glanced over at Alice. "What are you thinking? You've been quiet for a minute. You got something on your mind?" He nudged her in the side and smiled at her. "C'mon, let's go play a game or something. I have tip money I can use to blow on playing them."

frank was often plagued with his inability to shut up and yet all it had taken was an owl from his mum and he was basically running through the castle to find her.
alice crouch. merlin, was that her full name? you would think that he would know his betrothed’s full name and yet here he was grasping at straws, mind reeling from this revelation-- there was another big word betrothed. he had one of those now, apparently. according to the piece of parchment that he was clenching in his fist. as if his own opinion was meaningless -- had he ever said more than ten words to the girl? wait no -- he had. they patrolled once or twice in their lives, apparently their lively conversations about the horrors of potions was enough to ensure that his life was signed to hers.
he turned the next corridor, barreling to the doors of the puffle commons, he stopped the girl in yellow, “hey -- could you hop in there and find alice crouch for me? she’s a few inches taller than you -- blonde, probably fuming or in shock -- you can tell her that frank longbottom is out here. you know, the boy that’s referenced in the letter she’s probably clutching in her hands--” he rambled, out of breath as he watched the girls shocked expression for a second before she had taken off into their commons.

Standing in the kitchen, Frank had been working on trying out a new recipe that he found the other day. The dogs were laying around near him, almost waiting for him to drop something as they watched his movements. “You can look at me all you like, you can have any.” He told them, watching as their heads tilted as if they were confused by what he said. Tossing the food in the pan a bit, he had set the pan back on the burner when he heard his wife moving around the house once more. “Dinner should be done here in a bit. Do you want to eat at the table or the couch?” He asked, starting to move the food around once more.

What a way to spend an afternoon, Catherine thought as she walked towards a table while analyzing the many people playing with cats while enjoying a coffee or treat. She was about to find a place to sit, perhaps with a friendly cat as she'd always had an affinity for them, when she heard a familiar voice. A grin grew on her face as she turned to face Alice. "Stop myself? It seems like you're the one that isn't going to be able to stop themselves," Cat said as she took the seat across from Alice, setting her coffee down on the table. "Curious though, you say... Hm...well, I don't come here very often. I felt the need to be ambitious today though. It is my day off, you know. I needed different scenery. Cats are both fun and good company." Cat watched as the two cats in Alice's lap looked cozy and like they had taken a liking to her. "What's stopping you from taking them both home?" Cat would encourage her, enable even, but wasn't quite sure she was capable of taking care of herself let alone two cats. Then again they were fairly low maintenance.

"I know all of these cats are strays....and they are supposed to be allowed to be free and all that....but I want to take them all home with me.." Alice said aloud, two cats in her lap since she was sitting on the floor with her legs crossed. "I just...they keep coming and I could see them being cute like this in my apartment....How do you stop yourself?" she asked, looking up at the first person she spotted. "I'm very curious to know."

“On a scale of one to ten, how much do you love me?” Emma asked, hobbling over to Alice’s open bedroom door, a cheeky grin on her face. She knew the favor she was about to ask was a big one, and a dangerous one, but Edgar would never help her and if Edgar wouldn’t, she knew Alice would. Hopefully. Technically, best friends shouldn’t let best friends go looking at exes but... There were always exceptions. And, Alice was always Emma’s best girlfriend, the one who really helped her out of her grief when she and Ted really... called everything off. Emma owed her sanity to Alice. “I hope it’s ten, because I need a ten for what I’m going to ask.”

“You really want those here?” Jax’s gaze moved from Alice to the high area on the classroom wall. It was currently blank, just the dingy yellow that the once pristine white walls had faded to since the school was built over a century earlier. Renovations, even for communal spaces, weren’t the Authority’s top priority. Jax took a pin and grabbed for the drawings, unable to stop himself from looking at the winter scenes, carefully colored in handwriting that only was so clearly a child’s. His heart ached at it - but he wasn’t sure why. “These are cute. You should take them to park and let them draw the frozen lake. It’d be a blast.” @inplcinsight
