“Save being sharp for the missions.” Of course with the information being part of The Order made him privy too, Frank really should be trying to be sharp at all times. But Sybill couldn’t know that, so she didn’t. She nods, “yeah, I’m not much for huge celebrations.” Well actually she loved them, but that sort of social setting was a magnet for danger. “Oh? She’ll have to meet my mother, I bet they could talk eachothers’ ear off for hours about the planning and execution of such a thing. It’s like a military oporation in the Trelawney household. Let me tell you, you’re hardly in the aprty mood when you’ve been up for hours making ribbon garlands.”
“Always have to be ready for any cases that might pop up.” He commented, nodding his head lightly. Of course Frank knew that he had to be prepared for more than just cases at work, but also for cases with the Order. Sometimes the two even mixed together. “I don’t mind them, but it sometimes depends on who is hosting it.” Frank added. Hearing her words, he couldn’t help but let out a laugh and let his head no in agreement. “My mother doesn’t let the smallest of details go. Honestly, trying to plan my wedding was stressful more because of trying to get her to understand that it wasn’t hers to plan. I think if she would’ve been able to get that, the wedding planning wouldn’t have been as bad.”Â

“Lost in the work bubble.” She allowed with a grin, “I am an unexpected outlier.” Sybill often wondered how it was possible to not get lost in a building with so many winding hallways. She was kind fo glad to have run into a familiar face, else she’d have just had to follow her nose. Sybill nodded, “good. I’m glad you and Alice had a chance to relax together. Ah, it was nice. Pretty quiet for the most part, I went and stayed with my parents for a few days.” It was one of the few occasions a year on which she actually saw them. “Which is why I say for the most part. They throw a very elaborate New Years party.”
“Hm, still should pay a bit more attention, but we’ll call it a draw for now.” He spoke with a smile, showing that he was teasing a little. It was easy for Frank to try and make things a little better, with it being part of his personality. “Me too.” Frank knew that Alice had been worried about the wedding, so once they were done with the ceremony and got to just spend time alone, it was something that brought both of them some peace for a little bit. Like the war wasn’t constantly around them. “That sounds nice though. Quiet holidays are sometimes the best.” Augusta often liked to have elaborate holidays, but Frank always enjoyed the quiet ones. Frank laughed lightly. “Honestly, I get that. Augusta Longbottom loves a good elaborate party.” He replied.Â

a-force-of-alice·:
She rolled her eyes. Because he was right. They knew each other better then most and Alice couldn’t hide much from Frank. She played absently with a plant leaf and sighed. Picking up the watering can she moved away from Frank and played let the water fall over the plants. Inhaling felt her breath go shaky and she felt her eyes well up with water. She hated feeling this irrational, Frank was home and he was safe so why did she feel safe. She struggled to find her words and shook her head, trying to keep the tears from falling. “Frank.” She mumbled his name. “I always have been so scared of losing you. And even before we were married I knew that. But being married now, the risk feels so much higher, it feels so much more. And I didn’t know it could.” Tears fell down her cheeks. “I keep having these nightmares about you not coming back and I wanna make sure you’re here and you’re okay. And i wanna make sure you’re fine.” She looked up at him and felt so utterly silly.Â
Frank was one the very few people who had seen this side of Alice. Didn’t come out often, which made the moments when it did arrive even more noteworthy. He let her move around, knowing Alice needed to work through things in her own way. Frank was quiet as she spoke, watching her intently. It was when she looked at him, that he knew he was welcome to approach her once again. Closing the distance between them. “Alice,” His voice was soft as his hands reached up to brush hair from her face before using his thumbs to wipe the tears from her cheeks. “First thing, I want you to know that I’m here and I’m okay. See,” His hands took hers and lifting them up, placing her hands on either side of his face. “I’m here, Alice. I’m here and I’m okay.” His hands held onto hers, soft and gentle against hers for a moment before letting them fall and moving to wrap his arms around her and pull her close to him. “I know it’s hard, and I never wanted you to feel like that. I wanted to send you something so you knew I was alright, but I couldn’t, which I knew you would know. Besides, you and I both know there wasn't a chance I wasn't going to make it home.” Frank commented with a small laugh, knowing she knew it would be the truth. He promised to always make it home to her, and planned to keep that promise. “I have those fears too. Losing you is the thing that scares me the most.” Frank had never told Alice what his boggart was. He would always just say how it was something terrible. He’s ran into some during missions, and every time he sees Alice’s body laying in front of him, it takes what feels like years before he can regain himself and cast the spell to make the boggart go away. Alice was everything to him at this point. Losing her would be beyond devastating. “I think being married makes it harder because we’ve officially committed our lives to each other. We’ve imagined what it's going to be like. We’re living it. But I wouldn’t give it up for anything.” Frank spoke. “It’s not silly to have these fears or to be concerned if the other is okay. It’s part of being married, and part of being in a war. And we've only been married a couple months, so we're still in that adjustment period. We're learning how to balance being husband and wife with everything else. But considering everything else we've been through so far, we'll be able to do it easily, it just might take some time and communication. Which means talking to me when you have these feelings, and the nightmares. Let me help.”Â

a-force-of-alice·:
Alice went through a range of emotions when Frank didn’t come home after his mission. The wife mindset, ran through every possibility, that he was hurt, something went wrong, that it was just hopeless. The auror in her knew better, knew something happened and he went with his first instinct and he was laying low. Alice always worried for Frank but something about being married made the fear increase tenfold. But he made his way home and she wasn’t mad but she was relived and shaken up. But there was no way to be mad, he was doing his job. A little bit of time had passed and Alice still had this feeling of fear. They had a few days off and Alice wanted to finish setting up the greenhouse. Moving and getting married and getting everything set up and working was a lot and Alice wanted her safe space. She would worried about a guest room and dining table later but first the greenhouse. Alice didn’t mean too, but she kept glancing over at Frank, watching him making sure he was fine. She didn’t mean too but she was worried about him. “I don’t know. I can’t check out my husband. That’s a crime?”
Frank knew that Alice would’ve been worried while he was gone, and he didn’t blame her. He would’ve felt the exact same way if the roles had been swapped. Trying to find that balance between being a worried spouse, but knowing they were doing the same thing as an Auror and Order member. He had to admit, being back home with Alice was perfect though. She was one of the few things in his life that could make him feel like everything was just normal. As she responded, he gave her look that questioned her words. “No, it’s not a crime.” He replied, moving so he was standing in front of her. “But I know you, Alice. Probably better than anyone. And I can tell the difference from your checking me out look and checking on me look.” His hands moved down her arms before they reached her hands. “Talk to me, Alice. What’s going on in that wild head of yours?” His voice soft, knowing it would take her a minute to just open up.Â

Sybill didn’t often have cause to visit the Ministry. Truth be told the building intimidated her a bit. She didn’t want to think about what sort of dark secret you could hide in a place with so many coridoors. Still every now and then they ordered a stock of potion for their little medical room and she delivered them. They were usually hospitable enough to invite her to stay for lunch if it was close enough to the time for it. Sybill was meandering down that way when newlywed Frank appeared, “I wouldn’t know dear, I don’t usually eat here.” She reminded him, “it does smell good though. Did you enjoy your time away?”
Realizing that it was Sybill standing next to him, Frank let out a light laugh before nodding his head. “Alright, I probably should’ve paid a little more attention to who was standing next to time.” He commented, giving another light laugh with his words. “Indeed it does, hopefully it’ll be something good.” He continued with a smile. At hear question about him being away, at first he wondered if she meant him being gone a couple weeks ago, but then it hit him that she probably was talking about his honeymoon. “It was nice to get away for a little bit. We were able to forget about everything for a bit, which is always a nice feeling.” He answered. “How were your holidays?”Â

Starter for @a-force-of-alice
Frank had been stuck for a few days once they had found their target. He had apparated too many times and didn’t have the energy to get back. Add in the fact that he had some minor injuries from fighting the Death Eaters, it took a few days for him to get back home. With people hot on his trail, he couldn’t risk sending any word to those back home, knowing it could be him and them in jeopardy. Needless to say, when he finally did make it back home, he had a lot of people to answer to, including his wife. Most of them understood, but even then Alice was the hardest to explain to. With both of them being aurors and both being in the order, they understood things like this happened, but it never made it easier. Eventually she had come to terms with everything and they were back to normal, or so he thought.Â
It was as they were working in the greenhouse, getting things cleaned up a bit, when he noticed Alice’s looks. He could tell she was trying to hide it, but he knew her too well. Finally turning toward her, he let out a breath before finally saying something. “Alice, what’s going on? I’ve noticed you sneaking looks over there.”Â

With the new year over, it seemed like everything was starting to calm down a bit, well, relatively. Of course the war was still happening and people were still fighting, but at least there were less parties. Only weird part about after the holidays was that weird surge of work that started happening once people were back from their vacations. Moving from the training room and towards the cafeteria, Frank could smell some of the food that was drifting through the halls. “I feel like I always think I’m smelling something good, but often it’s nothing all that exciting. Think they have anything special for after the holidays? Or just the usual cafe food?” Frank commented with a slight smile on his face.Â

When Frank approached her, Dorcas gave him a solemn nod. “Right, so it’s subtle, and it wouldn’t be noticeable to anyone unless they tried to get through the door. It combines a couple types of magic, so I would need to be there to set it up properly, but it wouldn’t be too difficult to do. Honestly, I could write out the instructions for anyone in the Order and they could easily set it in place,” she explained. Dorcas took a breath as she continued, “Essentially, whoever was in the room when the spell was cast could leave freely. They would be able to walk in and out of the room it was cast on at their leisure. However, to anyone else, the entrance wouldn’t be accessible,” she admitted.Â
“I think as long as we get the dorms protected, we should be in good shape. At least then all the students will be hidden away and inaccessible,” Doe mused. If they could keep the kids safe, their target would hopefully be safe as well. It was quiet enough to not cause suspicion until it was too late. Dorcas gave a soft sigh as she shrugged, “We shouldn’t guard the whole school. It’ll raise too much suspicion if they can’t get into the castle, but if they get in they’ll think they’re in the clear. It could give us a chance to ambush them.”Â
Frank had all the faith in Doe’s ability to create spells, but he still wanted to hear the details of what she was creating. He knew that usually it was useful for what they were working on, so he was curious to hear about to hear more. Listening to her, his head nodded a little before he responded. “Maybe if you have it ready, we can practice it before we make our way to the school? If we’re partnering people up, we give at leas tone of them a chance to learn how it works and we from there.” He suggested, wanting to give them as much preparation as possible. “That’s brilliant, Doe. I think it’ll work perfectly for what we’re trying to do right now. Maybe you can show me? I can stop by your office tomorrow to see it.”Â
Continuing to nod his head, Frank thought over what some of their best plans were and hoped that they would be able to have that element of surprise that they currently hold. “I agree, trying to cover the whole castle would just be pointless right now. It would ruin the chances we have. We might want to think of a way to get the teachers together without it looking suspicious. While they can defend themselves, it’s still our job to protect as many as possible.” He added, trying to think of how they were going to get everyone together without it drawing too much attention.Â

So close to the full moon, James was already a bit on edge. However, he knew that it was important for work with the Order to get done, and he knew this mission was vital with everything going on. Besides, at least he was working with Frank. The other boy was a calming presence, something James desperately needed these days. It was nice to work with someone a bit more experienced anyways, and he knew he could learn from him. Keeping in step with the other boy, James softly asked, “So where do we start?” knowing that Frank would have a plan.
@franklongbottxm·
When Frank learned he would be working with James, he felt a little relieved to know that he would be working with someone who had shown himself capable or completing a mission. Being tasked to make their way through Hogsmede, it made their territory a little difficult, but he had a plan for what he believed to be their best option. “I think we need to make our way through the stores that the students frequent. See if we can heard them talking about anything that might help us out.” Frank paused a moment, looking around before looking back to James. “You have money on you? If we don’t want to stand out, we’ll have to buy from some of the shops. Christmas shopping can be our cover. Sound like a plan?” He asked, wanting to ensure his partner felt the same before they continued.Â

accioalecto·:
The days were beginning to drag on, a common symptom of realizing that she was slumming it in her station. The allure of influence that Alecto’s position had once held over time began to be sullied with the reality that lining the margins of schedules with notes was not what she wanted the rest of her days to be consumed with. This was just a stepping stone, the blonde would often remind herself focused on some version of the future where she needn’t be bothered by nettlesome bottom feeders who seemed thrive off of a parasitic relationship with any and all of her spare time. Her once practiced patience was beginning to show cracks on its shiny veneer, she needed a break before she was bound to snap.Â
Her things sat in her bag ready for her to roll out of the office as soon as Minchum tipped his hat at her and bid her a good evening. A silly old man she could not help but to almost feel pity for, thinking that he was doing right by the miscreants that had weaselled their way into the fringes of the ruling class, he was hardly the sort of mentor he likened himself to be. Nonetheless she was eager to show an aptitude for the kind of alleged pressure a job like his was. Alecto knew that playing nice was part of the game, even if it felt torturous.Â
She could practically already feel her after work martini sliding down her throat as she gathered her things to leave the office and she counted the clicking of her heels against the cold wood floors as an indicator of when she might be able to perch a cigarette between her fingers and return to her natural state. As she exited into the torpid evening air, Alecto’s smile faded and she looked left and right to see if there was any sort of ally for her to waste the rest of her night with. She craved fun, the kind of fun that lingered in your hair the next day, she needed that.Â
“Hey,” she called out at the back of a familiar head of hair, “Have you got a light?”
Working as an auror usually meant long hours. Meant spending most of your days going back and forth on cases, interviewing witnesses, and trying you best to bring home people that were missing. You eventually learned how to deal with most situations, but that doesn’t always mean that it was easy. Add in the fact that were surrounded by an ever growing war, they were only set up for working even longer hours than before. Dealing with more cases than they could really imagine, while also trying to find a way to end this war outside of their own justice system.Â
While Frank had spent most of the last few nights working long into the night, tonight was a night that he actually got out a decent time. He was excited to have the chance to get to actually go home and spend some time with his wife. Maybe even cook dinner, but he wasn’t going to get ahead of himself. Wanting to stop and do something before leaving, he went to the Minister’s office, hoping to check on the status of some paperwork he submitted a while ago, but had yet to hear anything about. However, as he approached the office, he noticed the lights were off and figured everyone in his office got their chance to go home early.Â
Wasn’t long before he was actually out of the building and walking towards his home when he heard a voice and turned to see Alecto standing behind him. “I don’t, sorry.” He spoke with a shrug of his shoulders. “But I’m glad we ran into each other.” Frank continued. “Do you know if the Minister got the paperwork I submitted a few weeks ago? We really need it in order to finish this case up, but I’ve heard nothing about it.”Â

“–sorry love, mind repeating that last part again?” Lily questioned, her head turning to look at the person to her left. “I was a bit preoccupied keeping an eye on the chaos around us.” A light shrug of shoulders as she moved to let the people who seemed to be in a hurry to get where they needed to go around her. “Honestly, I haven’t a clue why people are in this much of a hurry.”
Frank couldn’t help but getting caught up in the chaos that was happening around them, the Auror in him going on edge a little as he looked at the mess around him. “Wha-Oh! I actually don’t think I finished my sentence. I think I got caught up in it as well.” He commented, giving a small chuckle as he turned to talk to Lily once more. “I think I was just asking how you were doing? Been a minute since I’ve seen you.”

Title: Meetings & Manhunts ( event 002 ) Date: December 6th Who: Open to Order MembersÂ
As Dorcas listened to the update as the meeting finally started, she found herself tucking her hands into the sleeves of her sweatshirt. She had still been at work when the emergency meeting had been called, but she had changed into her evening work clothes. While she often wore professional clothing while at the Ministry working, she kept a change of comfortable ones for the evenings that she worked late, which was becoming more and more frequent these days. However, the longer she listened to the meeting, the tighter her stomach knotted. Children were going to be put at risk, and that was something that she couldn’t justify. The war was already plucking new graduates to mold into soldiers, she wouldn’t allow it to make the younger ones into casualties.Â
Once the meeting came to an end, Dorcas immediately started thinking about what she could do to help. Thinking about it carefully, she piped up, “I’m nearly done with my latest spell, and I think it’s going to be exactly what we need. If we cast it at any potential entrances in the dormitories, it would prevent anyone from entering or exiting. It would be a way to keep the students safe and out of reach. I just need to get one more herb to activate the spell. Do we have a map of all the dorms and their potential entrances?” she asked.Â
When the emergency meeting had been called, Frank took a minute to finish up with the interviews he was doing before locking his office up and travelling with Alice to the meeting location. He knew an emergency meeting never met anything good, but with the fact that they can’t ever predict what had happened, or in this case was going to happen, it was easy to always be on edge. The unfortunate thing was that one edge feeling didn’t just go away. You felt it through the mission you were about to be on, and even continued to feel the left over feeling that happened when everything was completed. It often made Frank wonder if they would ever stop feeling it. If going through a war like this would always leave them one edge in one way or another.Â
As the meeting came to an end and Dorcas has approached a few of them, he was quiet, arms crossed over his chest and his head nodding in agreement. “Tell me more about your spell.” Frank spoke, wanting to know more about what they could do with it. “I think even if we can’t get a map, which I’m sure someone has a map of it, we should get teams of four together, one person from each house. Have them map out how the different dorms are set up. Even if we don’t go through Hogwarts as teams of four, we can at least help each other map out where we need to go in order to get a course of action.” He suggested.Â

Surrounded by people like Frank and his friends it took every ounce of Sybill’s self control not to break down and tell them everything. She knew there was someone watching her though, and the moment she so much as whispered about it everyone in this room would be in danger. So whenever the urge rose up she just sipped her champagne to force it back down.
Her lips turn up in a humoured smile, “my father says similar things sometimes actually, though I’m sure he’d throw a fit if I ever actually did use magic and stopped weaving all those pretty patterns into the lattice on top of the pies.” She nods, “but you’re right, it is nice. Until my mother starts prattling on about the nice man that lives down the road, but I think that’s something all mothers do.” It was in their nature to want to see their daughters happy, she supposed. “Oh that’s nice, what’re you getting up to?”
With everything happening in the war, it was easy to sometimes miss when someone around you might be struggling. Frank would like to say that he could spot things like that pretty easily, but he knew that he missed it like everyone else from time to time. Sometimes people were just far better at being able to hide what’s going on. It made helping them through tough times a little harder, but he tried to at least let people know that he was there for them if they needed it.Â
Listening to Sybill, he couldn’t stop the soft smile on his lips and nodded his head. “It’s one of those things where yes, doing things with magic would be easier and honestly easier, but there is something about doing it all by hand that just makes it seem so much better in my opinion. Like you can taste the effort and care that went into it.” He commented, letting his head continue to nod lightly. He loved cooking, mostly because it was kind of therapeutic for him at times. “Listen, I’ve been with Alice for years now and there were still times where my mother would mention other girls, but she hasn’t done it in a long while. I think it’s just a parent thing.” He shrugged. “Touring castles, cliffs, and some other stuff. Planning some time to just relax. Not too much, but I’m still excited.”Â

wolvescomehome·:
Sometimes Remus got this feeling of overwhelming isolation. Not from anyone person in particular but in general. When he looked back on his childhood he found himself uneasy with how much time he spent on his own. He sometimes wondered if that was going to happen again. That with this war, with his blood status and all the dark corners of the world closing in, if everyone was going to end up on their own. He didn’t like the thought. Not at all. Seeing a couple like Frank and Alice make it work, even now, was a glimmer of hope. Perhaps it wasn’t all lost. Maybe he and all the people he loved and cared about could come together, in one way or another, and find each other. Frank and Alice made that seem possible. More possible than impossible. For that, Remus was grateful.Â
“Well you can put that worry to bed, Frank. You look the farthest thing from a idiot.” Remus assured him with a happy hum. How nice it was to just simply talk to Frank. On his wedding day non the less! An undeniable pride had swelled in Remus’s chest as he thought of Frank and Alice. They choice to be his friend and keep him in their inner circle. That really meant something. Being here meant something. It was a day that Remus was not going to quickly forget. “Oh, you are bias. No doubt about that.” He teased easily with a wave of one hand. Talking with his hands? Maybe this should be his last drink for the night then? “However, I feel like I have to point out that without the Groom there wouldn’t be a Bride. So, it’s gotta be a fifty, fifty split.” He mused. “Well, maybe more like seventy, thirty but you know what I’m getting at.” Remus went on before taking another drink from his pint glass.Â
This really did feel like the old days. When the two would get together to study for some upcoming exam only to start talking about this thing or that. Simple topics for simpler days. The break from what had become normal didn’t slip Remus’s attention. “That sounds lovely, Frank. Wishing you both good weather and even better time spent together.” He crossed his fingers for his friend and smiled. “Please, don’t worry about us. We can manage for a few days without you two. Not much longer then that, though.” Remus promised with a wink.Â
Frank had always been that person to do what he could in order to make sure those around them felt like they has someone they could count on. While he might not always be able to relate or do for them what they were looking for, but he does his best to help however he can. He hated the idea of someone feeling like they didn’t have a place to belong in this world. Whether you were a pureblood, muggleborn, and half blood, it shouldn’t determine how people treated you. They only thing that should’ve had any weight on how you got treated was how you acted. Most of the people in this room were people that Frank believed to be good people. Some he wasn’t sure, or knew who they were really, but had to invite them. However, that often didn’t stop him from wanting to give people a chance.Â
“I’ll try my best.” He commented, keeping that signature smile on his lips as he spoke. It was kind of weird to think of people telling him not to worry about something on his wedding day, mostly because he didn’t always know if they would make it to this day. Even outside of Frank and Alice’s relationship, there were different obstacles that had showed up and tried to keep them from the happiness they wanted, but those things didn’t know how strong Frank and Alice truly were. “Listen, I’m not even mad about it.” He replied, letting out a joyous laugh with his words. “Hm, I’m suppose you have a point, but it’s not often we can get Alice into settings like these, so I’m going to make sure she knows how important she really is. Granted, I’m sure at this point she knows how important she is to me, so that’s good, yeah?” Alice had always been important to Frank and he would work everyday to make sure she knew that if she didn’t know already.Â
Being in this setting with everyone felt so surreal. He wished that he could just stay in if forever. A moment where everyone can just be and enjoy themselves, but he knew that wasn’t a choice for them in these times. “Thanks, Mate, really means a lot.” It was nice when people offered them good wishes, giving that feeling of support from those around them. Frank laughed and nodded his head. “You guys are going to be great.”Â

Alice was making her way back to their table. There were just so many people she wanted to thank and say hello to but with dinner coming up she would have to do that later. She felt Frank wrap his arms around her and she smiled with a blush. “A fantastic time Mr. Longbottom And you?” She moved as he pulled out her chair to sit down but held on to his hand, intertwining their fingers. Alice stared at him for a moment, a dreamy gaze, her head spinning with happiness. “I’m not sure what kind of question that is. I’m always ready for dinner.” She hummed happily, “I mean nothing beats eating something you made on your kitchen counter but I can’t wait to have this again.”
Listening to her, his smile just stayed well on his face as he responded. “I’m having a blast! It’s honestly so nice to see so many people here. I think I still have a lot of them to talk to, but I’m making good progress.” He responded, letting out a small laugh with his words. As their fingers intertwined and their hands were held together, he lifted their joined hands and kissed the back of hers before letting them fall again. “It’s kind of crazy to think that soon it’s going to be our kitchen counter. When we get back from our honeymoon I’ll have to see how the house is coming along.” He commented, thinking more for himself. “But yes! Dinner is going to be great.” Frank continued.Â
