:[ OOC ;; On this edition of Sap // Things I Think Of That Makes Me Emotional ]
I've cooked with some people about how close the Avengers are and how much they absolutely care for and love each other, and one side effect of that is when I apply that Knowledge to my mainline verse where Hank is undergoing an ongoing recovery and therapy for his DID and BP, and so far many writers have put forward that their respective Avenger would welcome him back with joy that he's seeking recovery. Which is nice! That's Nice!
It also led me to think on it emotionally though.
Imagine for a moment if you will; Being Hank in this situation. It doesn't have to be as crazy but just, imagine hurting your closest friends, the people who are almost family, More then Family more then any other bond you've Ever Had with other people. You hurt ALL of them, make them worry for you, mourn you and even when you come back some part of you keeps stressing them and worrying them and your mental health just keeps getting Worse and you make them Watch.
Any Friend group would be valid in kicking you aside; in tossing you out and cutting that line but the Avengers DIDN'T. More then that the idea that when he finally DOES come around to seek help and treatment so many of them would be extending the hand and like-
Can You Imaging that Kind of Platonic Love???
How overwhelming, how potent, how impactful, how RAW that emotional weight would be be??
I think about it A lot...
That moment when Hank Truly sees and understands just how much this team cares about him; even though he spent so long being an argument spot as the Pacifist of the group, even with all the times they butted heads over methods. In Spite of Yellowjacket and Ultron in spite of All Of It.
I don't think its something he ever wishes to take for granted.

Days like this were rare at times, though honestly that didn't make Hank enjoy them any less. Simple calm days where there was so little going on that getting a Cat out of a Tree was an Actual Call they could answer for once. Unless this cat turned out to secretly be an alien parasite disguised as a cat.. (He really hoped not)
" Two of them actually. " Very important correction. " -But its not exactly like we're in any rush, and you just seemed Oh So Deprived of a good tree climb. Besides. Cats swat bugs. "
Hank smiled at his own joke, watching as Steve moved up the tree with honed and trained movements. It was honestly a bit of a treat in itself; enough to casually make his partner in this mission of feline rescue Forget To Watch for The Cat..
' Do you see our furry feline friend anywhere? '
" Uh... "
Nuts, think fast Pym! Putting his hands to either side of his helmet, he did a quick look around with his eyes before closing them, listening to the frequencies around them. Few fireants in the lawn nearby, wasps in the next door attic, moth sleeping on a coat- panicking beetles in the tree- Perfect! Walking a bit to the side he opened his eyes and looked again with no luck, must be hiding..
" I've got some beetles trying to escape it, try three branches to your left, I think it might be nestled in the leaves there! "
@pympartic said: ❝ I don’t want to rob you of the joy of climbing a tree. ❞
Steve stood with his hands on his hips, head tilted back to look up at some of the top branches of the tree with a squint. "You know, I distinctly remember one of your abilities making getting cats out of trees really easy."
Still, he'd drawn the short straw. Best to get up there while they still had their sights set on that little orange cat. "Not that I'll pass up any opportunity to do a backflip. It keeps me limber."
He took a running start towards the tree, jumping up to grab the nearest branch. The momentum carried him through his swing, allowing him to release and flip through the air, catching onto the next branch with well-practiced ease. The next few sings and jumps could have been performed at the Olympics, if not for the fact that the bars being used were tree limbs.
Of course, by the time he got to the top, the cat had disappeared from that branch. Steve squatted on the limb, peering through the leaves down at Hank. "Do you see our furry feline friend anywhere?"

Do people lack empathy and appreciation for superheroes in fiction ?
So ... Today I remembered a day when I went into a new library close to where I lives and when one of the seller offered to inform me about anything I needed about the book in the library, I started asking about Batman and Spider-man comics, which are my favorite (along the Batman/Super-man cross over, the Justice league, the spider-verse and when Spider-man also have cross-over with deadpool and x-men)
And at some point I started talking about how I wish that I could find comics about parallel stories of Batman and Spider-man that I once found and read online, and where the heroes aren't getting traumatized and tormented non-stop and can still enjoy happy and silly moments with their loved ones. Because this is something that started bothering me in the main Amazing spider-man comics continuity happening on earth 616, and the last main Batman serie comics which started in 2016 (I don't remember the name of the earth from that serie, Earth-one I think)
And then I thought about Miraculous Ladybug, about how the ML writters seem to go out of their way to make Marinette and Adrien suffer, while the narrative seems to also set a lot of the blame on Marinette when she doesn't deserve all that pain and hate.
So I asked the seller why superheroes authors couldn't give more a more balanced life to heroes characters, with their downfall but also their happy moments, and why it seems like things always end badly for famous heroes like Spider-man and Batman. Can you guess what he replied to me ?
"Les gens aiment voir les héros se relever, mais ils aiment encore plus les voir sombrer".
Traduction "People love to see heroes rise again, but they love to see them sink more"
And I was like : "0_0 .. WTF ?!! Why would people be so heartless and cruel enough to want to see good heroes get tormented non stop ? How can it motivate anyone to be heroic if the more famous fictitious superheroes constantly get beaten down for trying to do the right thing ?"
That's a depressive reality really. Fortuntaelly I' not the only one who's tired of seeing heroes like Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne be miserable and walking trauma mess, some people on Tumblr would also like to give those two a more happy ending.
Just like I'm sure many of us would love to see Marinette not being constantly threatened to have her life destroyed and ruined by secrets she feels forced to keep because no one ever tells her otherwise, or by jealous psycopath supervillains who have nothing better to do in their life than being poor excuses of human beings.
We've since got the confrmation that season 6 of Miraculous is gonna hurt more than season 5, and to me it means that maybe some of my worst fears about Lila's future strategies to ruin Marinette and Ladybug's lives may turn out to be true 0_O
Lila/Cerise made it very clear at the end of Re-creation that she was gonna go Marinette with ill-meaning intentions, and the psycopath liar may unfortunatelly be half successfull to make Marinette's miserable by the end of season 6 if the ML writters want to satisfy all of those who like to see heroes suffer beyond their breaking point T_T

Cap-Ironman Rec Week - What-If Wednesday
It’s time to rec some Steve/Tony AUs for @cap-ironman‘s What If Wednesday! If you loved these stories half as much as I did, please shower the authors with kudos and comments <3
Underground by Margo_Kim:
Five years ago, Thor's Chitauri army decimated the Earth. Now what's left of humanity lives in bases under the Earth's surface, safe from the toxic atmosphere. Tony likes to think that humanity's adapted pretty well. After all, they have movie nights and dances; they're doing better than could be expected. But when he learns that the little world of safety and stability they've carved out is about to be slowly but surely destroyed, the New York Underground is left with only two options--fight or flight. Tony knows which one he wants. If only Steve weren't on the exact opposite side. Meanwhile, Natasha wants whatever option will save Clint, Pepper wants whatever option will save the base, Maria Hill wants whatever option will save everybody, and nobody's exactly sure who Loki's trying to save, but everyone's hoping it's more than just himself.
~ Apocalypse!AU. This fic reads like a movie, with all of the dramatic tension, an excellent ensemble cast, beautiful Steve/Tony moments and a breathtaking climax that’s everything you could ever want from a story like this. (With bonus phenomenal Loki moments, if that’s your kind of thing ;) )
ceaselessly into the past by shepherd:
Edge of Tomorrow/Live.Die.Repeat AU, following the movie. After earth is invaded by the Chitauri, Tony Stark is forcefully drafted into the military for a suicide mission. It ends up with him being inexplicably caught in a time loop that always seems to end with him dying horrifically. And, of course, the day was a Thursday- he had never gotten the hang of Thursdays.
~ Movie AUs/fusions are the Best Thing, especially if they’re half as well written as this one! I hadn’t watched the movie before reading the fic, and goddamn if it didn’t stun me with it’s excellent character-driven writing. Even after watching the movie, I can attest that none of it feels forced, but like Steve and Tony were meant to live, die and fall in love in this manner <3
Pulse and Beat series by sineala:
Cassino, Italy, December 1943. Special Agent Tony Stark, former Marvels adventurer, is sent to investigate a Cosmic Cube found by the Invaders -- and it's the perfect opportunity for him to rekindle his secret romance with Steve Rogers. But when Hydra attempts to steal the Cube, an inadvertent wish for help leads to the appearance of a Tony from the future of another world: Director Stark of SHIELD. This Tony is a man with a lot on his mind. He refuses to tell them anything about the future, but he seems to know much more than he should about Captain America. And something's happened that's clearly killing him inside, but he's not talking. When Director Stark's failed attempt to return home leads to the unexpected appearance of another visitor from his universe, all the lies come undone. Now there are two wars to fight, and the second one could ruin all of them.
~ If you’re thinking that no one needs to be told to read Sineala’s fics - well let me just say that this is one of my absolute favourite of their works and it hasn’t gotten nearly as much acclaim as it deserves! A fantastic canon-divergence Noir/616 crossover AU for the ages, with a sprinkling of 616 Civil War fix-it to really get you going.
strays by theappleppielifestyle:
Tony will take whatever he can get from Steve, which is pathetic, because he’s not even really friends with him.
Or, the highschool!AU where Pepper is Tony's much-needed therapist, Darcy is his parter in crime, Bruce needs to go through puberty, Clint shows up to school with bruises and Steve just wants everyone to get through this intact.
~ Highschool AUs are my secret Kryptonite - there’s just something about the emotional vulnerability of characters that age that get me sniffling. Again, no one needs to be told to read theappleppielifestyle‘s fics, but this is another one of those soft, sweet, poignant reads that deserves all of the attention in the world.
The Idiot Box by Margo_Kim:
Stephanie Rogers isn't happy to be in the 21st century, but she's even less thrilled to be on a team with Antonia Stark who seems as spoiled and self-centered as people come. She and Tony do their best to ignore each other, until their mutual insomnia causes them to bond over the new American pastime: late night television watching.
~ this author’s AU’s are just *chef’s kiss*. Featuring cis!female Steph and Tony, with some touching dynamics and laugh-out-loud moments, this is an MCU fic written pre-Avengers, which is a bit of a lovely rarity all by itself.
I’ve got you under my skin by sirona:
Five times Beijing 2008 Olympics Gold Medalist Tony Stark thinks it's going to be no more difficult a job to get ready for London 2012, than what he has just achieved. That is, of course, before Coach Fury comes to visit, and offers him a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a part of something much bigger than himself. Swimming AU.
~ No AU reclist is complete without a Sports!AU :D The characters here read as authentic to their canon selves, even as they’re participating in competitive sports rather than beating up bad guys - Tony’s arc in particular is really heartwarming <3
Look here, look back, look ahead by marinarusalka:
September, 1941: Returning from a mission as Iron Man, Tony Stark crash-lands in the Carpathian Mountains and is rescued by Captain America. The two heroes team up to investigate Nazi activity at a mysterious castle. But Captain America is keeping secrets that could destroy their new partnership before it has a chance to begin.
~ Some lovely, lovely IM Noir canon divergence AU <3 It also comes bundled with identity porn, and Noir verse is just such a delightful verse to soak in that you all should really go read this at once.
And finally a self-rec or two-
Even Though We Know Love’s Landscape:
But at the core, he’s the same brand of poor little rich guy that dot the shadowed corners of every charity gala, every award function. Sure, maybe it comes in a ‘genius billionaire playboy philanthropist’ package… but his mettle is common iron. A drop of sea water, a dash of air, and he’d rust right through.
She, on the other hand, is made of better stuff.
In which Tony compares people to weird things, Steph recites poetry and two dorks fall in love.
~ AU with cis!female Steve, with all the team living in the Tower and a bunch of feels, fluff and poetry thrown in for good measure :D
Swing City:
“Of all the places you could go to on holiday, you had to pick the one where everything can possibly kill you.”
“I’m here on exchange, actually.” Steve returned primly. "And I’m pretty sure nothing can kill me in a gallery.”
“That’s the tragic bit. You’re in a gallery.” Sam’s tone was impressively flat, even for him. “You’re in Australia. Go hiking in the bush with the poisonous snakes. Surfing with the murderous jellyfish.”
Spoiler alert: Tony's in Australia too. And he's a swing dancer.
~ Is this a kind-of college!AU+Dancer!AU set in Australia, with Steve still as Cap? Yes, yes it is. I had a rollicking good time writing it, plus all of Steve’s Man Out of Time feels, so you’ll get no apologies from this quarter :D

Some bw/nat thoughts and canon psa below the cut (mild spoilers for the movie, but nothing past the 15 min mark)
Upcoming Protégé movie - so this is less about the bw movie and just about a trailer I saw for Protégé but oh my god guys I’m getting a movie with Maggie and Fury! I don’t know if it’s my cup of tea, but Maggie as a badass spy-like character with interactions with Sam? IMAGINE THE GIFSETS I’LL BE ABLE TO GET FOR NAT!
Smells Like Teen Spirit cover/movie opening - do you all REMEMBER when I had the Think Up Anger cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit on Wanda’s auto play years ago? I was lowkey really proud that it made it into a canon Marvel film. Also I really enjoyed the creepy, thriller like feel of the intro and kind of wish they pulled that into the rest of the movie
Living in Ohio - one of the few things I’ll be incorporating into my canon is Nat being planted into a fake family. Obviously in MCU, that is in Ohio with Yelena for the purpose of giving Alexei a chance to steal info, but my main verses are all 616 based so I’ve altered that a little bit. Nat was planted into a fake family in Russia during WWII as an “adopted” daughter. Her function was purely for intelligence gathering (no one suspects a child) and counterintelligence (if no one is watching for a child, then they don’t think she’ll turn them into the authorities). Instead of Yelena playing the part of a sister, it is instead Marina and that is why the two were so close in the widow program.
Alexei - Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian is and always will be Nat’s husband not father figure in my canon. I have no issue writing with MCU Alexei’s in AU timelines as the character depicted in the film, but canon-wise Alexei is Nat’s husband both in 616 and my MCU. My default MCU mention of film Alexei will not make him the Red Guardian but instead just a Russian spy who played the part of the family patriarch in Ohio. Nat married the Red Guardian before the events of Budapest and her subsequent defection. Both men are named Alexei but certainly are not the same character.
Widow program - I’m probably not going to incorporate the elements of the widow program shown in the film (trying to keep this post mostly spoiler free so I won’t go into details). My widow program is closer to what is shown in Dottie’s background in Agent Carter (psychological conditioning) and definitely what is depicted in the comics. Natasha is one of 28 orphaned girls who are taken and both physically and psychologically conditioned to be assassins. She is trained and false memories of a life as a bolshoi ballerina are implanted. In essence, she is a sleeper agent who is “activated” for missions and then set aside to live a fake life as a civilian when she is not needed.
Budapest with Clint - the film’s depiction of what happened in Budapest is not my canon (again trying to stay spoiler free but if you know, you know). “I needed to get out” is not a valid excuse for Nat to do what she did and the way I write Nat, she’d never do that as her defection is the start of her atonement. I really can’t reconcile how Nat is actively attempting to “wipe out her ledger” at that point on and to still do what she did. I will write out a separate post on what happened in my canon’s Budapest.
Yelena in general - I gotta say, I absolutely loved the film’s version of Yelena. I think they did try to make her more along the lines of comic Marina, but I still loved her.
“You’re the killer little girls look up to” - okay this line made me very emotional and is definitely an awful thing to say to Nat because I bet you she thinks about this all the time. She doesn’t want to be a hero in the sense that she doesn’t want people to look up to her. She just wants to atone for the wrongs she’s done and move on with her life in the shadows.

Thoughts on Ultimate Scarlet Witch?
I don’t really want to. ;_;
fine okay let’s see
It’s basically a Zack Snyder “gritty realistic” (haha realistic) elseworlds version of Wanda (which makes sense because Mark Millar is basically all about that too, except perhaps arguably worse sometimes). It doesn’t appeal to me, but I don’t really mind its existence terribly. Or I should clarify: I don’t mind most parts of it terribly. (Just getting this out of the way: the incest gets a No from me. Really don’t like that. Really don’t have much to say aside from the fact that I don’t like that.)
I appreciated the idea of yet another modernized take on their Brotherhood origins, and with them actually being raised by Erik (even if somewhat shallow in execution). I wish they were more reluctant like their 616 counterparts. It’s always uncanny reading mutant supremacy talk coming from a character who’s supposed to be a version of Wanda — but then again, elseworlds.
She did that thing Magneto does in X-Men: First Class, which is always cool.
Tumblr media
Twice!! (Sorta.)
Tumblr media
She’s also more posh at times (it’s inconsistent), which I guess makes sense in the context of actually being raised by Magneto instead of in poverty. You can almost hear the stereotypical British accents oozing off of them. I don’t know. I like it when my Wandas are rougher around the edges and not like Emma Frost. Why are they making her act (and lowkey dress) like a dollar store Emma Frost?
Tumblr media
She did have some zingers. (Inb4 Ultimates Wanda is also a racist for using a word she uses in the following panel.)
Tumblr media
I liked the idea of her technically (technically) being a mathematical genius, except it doesn’t get applied anywhere else apart from her otherwise borderline inexplicable powers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course, it still doesn’t make sense in the context of math. Is she just supposed to be a living version of Schrodinger’s Equation? Something tells me they didn’t think this through. Something something comic book Rule of Cool. Either way, it irks me because the fact that she is, in fact, a mathematical genius is basically brushed off in every other way. In favor of Natasha calling her a pole dancer, because everyone is an asshole in the Ultimates universe.
Tumblr media
And then guess what? They eventually gave up and called it reality warping again, but only after she died. Anyway, Rule of Cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tho I didn’t hate this tube top costume, if only because I hated her thong costume more. :)
I liked the idea of her raising dinosaurs in the Savage Land. This might be my favorite ‘lil nugget in Ultimates Wandaverse, if you ignore the (once more) random resurgence of dollar store Emma Frost in her dialogue.
Tumblr media
She also flirts with robots a couple times because “haha get it she was married to Vision in the prime verse hahaha” yeah fuck you too, Mark Millar.
Tumblr media
The Squadron Supreme series was actually pretty entertaining (thanks to Loeb I think … Loeb who wrote Ultimates Vol 3 hahahaha…) and gave me nothing much to complain about as far as Wanda goes. Aside from Greg Land art, because I can’t take Greg Land art anymore. Even when it’s… actually okay? I just have bias against Greg Land. :(
Tumblr media
All in all, Ultimates Scarlet Witch is terribly inconsistent, and doesn’t even have the excuse of a 60+ year history for her inconsistency. All of this took place within the IRL span of 7 years. Seven. Years. Sometimes she feels more like the porn parody of a character than an actual character. Sometimes literally so. She had a handful of neat moments and a handful of elements that validated her existence (though I would be more than happy to sacrifice its existence if I never have to think about the Incest ever again), so there’s that. And then she died, and I didn’t really feel anything, because she was mostly Mark Millar (and Loeb, who is not innocent in this)’s porn parody of Wanda Maximoff.
It’s funny. While Ultimates Pietro’s mourning her death (around when he’s also about to die) he talks about how she was the kindest, purest person. No, actually. They barely show her being Kind and Compassionate and Selfless and Heroic and all of the things that are supposed to make us like this character in the first place. She mathematically has more panel time being kinda creepy (the bad way) than she does being good.
But that’s Ultimates for you. That’s Mark Millar for you (don’t get me wrong though I’ve liked some Mark Millar works,,,,, just not This).
tl;dr Earth-1610 is largely if the DCEU was as bad as some people say it was, and 1610!Wanda was one of the casualties of that.
Now hopefully this was thorough enough that I never have to talk about Ultimates Wanda ever again. whew

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Tumblr media
Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse is an animated film directed by Peter Ramsey, Robert Persichetti Jr. and Rodney Rothman. It follows Miles Morales, a teenager from Brooklyn who gets bitten by a (not) radioactive spider, and gets involved in a plot to stop the Kingpin to open a gateway to 5 other parallel dimensions, and must team up with each dimension’s respective Spiderman to stop him.
The thing that absolutely everyone has been talking about this film, is the animation, and full disclosure, it’s absolutely amazing. The 3D effect wasn’t great, but the actual visual design and animation were top notch, incredibly inventive and beautiful. The way the animators mixed digital 2D and 3D animation was incredible, and the film has a real fluidity to all of its motion. There is a lot going on screen and at no point did it feel overwhelming or incomprehensible.
Additionally, the film is full of color and personality; there are scenes draped in vivid, saturated colors, in pastels, and shadows which achieve a genuinely creepy atmosphere. The characters have a very video game feel to them; their designs reminded me of a slightly toned done, softer version of the characters in the Wolf Among Us. The animators also managed to make New York, and especially Brooklyn feel alive and very accurate; as someone who lived in Crown Heights, and had to take the 5 to work everyday I found this film’s version of Brooklyn more impressive and accurate than any of the ones in the previous live action films.
The story was also, very well told and paced, and surprisingly accurate to the comics. There are some discrepancies, like how Miles takes on the mask from Peter, the Ultimates version Peter not being married to MJ, or Noir Spiderman not being a private eye, but for the most part, the writes stayed faithful to the comics. Miles’ story is almost verbatim his origin from the comics and it was amazing seeing it on the big screen, especially delivered in such a spectacular style.
I was also surprised at how dark this film got; I obviously know the story of Miles and how he becomes Spiderman but I didn’t expect the filmmakers to have it play out in such a gritty way. This added to the sense of realism; not that the film is realistic, but the character relationships were and that’s what made it work so well.
I absolutely loved Miles, and Shameik Moore did a great job voicing him. He has that cool teen voice, where he sounded both young and like someone trying to make himself sound older and more confident. I enjoyed all of Miles’ quirks, and his attempts at being smart/suave, and he acted like a real teenager would, when faced with the situation he was in. His relationship to his family, especially his father and uncle was both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and I really enjoyed the dynamic he had with Peter Parker.
Peter was also spot on here. Not only is Jake Johnson a great fit for his voice, but the writers understood Peter on a level that I don’t think any of the live action writers did. It was very interesting to see the Ultimates version compared to the 616 version, and how with just a few years, maybe this Peter would also have grown jaded, tired and disillusioned. Peter was just the perfect blend of fuck up and hero, and him being thrust in this mentor role he wasn’t prepared for was pretty great to watch.
The other characters were also great; I enjoyed seeing Gwen on the big screen though I wish she had more time to shine. Miles’ father Jefferson and his uncle Aaron were excellent foils to Miles, one being the stern paternal figure and the other the encouraging, fun mentor. I even really liked the Kingpin in this; he was intimidating, tragic and so very hateable.
If I do have one complaint, that is that the characters of Spider-Ham, Noir Spiderman and Peni Parker felt more than a little unnecessary. I understand they mostly served as comic relief, but in this grounded of a story, with already a lot of characters, they were not well integrated and they didn’t have much to do. I think the film would have been stronger had it just stuck to Miles, Peter and Gwen, and further developed their relationship, especially because I didn’t really get a good transition from Miles using his powers on instinct and him actively understanding and using his powers by the end.
In spite of that, this film is still great. I recommend it to anyone, be they Spidey or just animation fans. You won’t be disappointed.

“you’re so small in my arms!” (Any 'verse)
@djinmer4 @brienne-of-the-sapphire-isle @kittyskurt @thejadesabre
AOA!kurttyKitty Pryde: Long gone forsake the high heels in her life, aside from what many cartoonists like to think, wear a high heel can be uncomfortable and not always suitable for combat.
Kitty Pryde is a short woman, deadly but short and try to live with the fact, it wouldn´t be a problem, per say, after all, this woman defeat robotic assassins, travel through dimension and punch a God in the face(ok, he wasn´t a real God, but, considered himself one and got punch by this Kitty)
At moment, in this dimension label 616, Kitty is in the School, once again and is trying to get a book, the key word here is trying because there´s a slight problem in the scene.
A big, blue and fuzzy man is currently taking his sweet time to get what he is looking for while using Kitty, the smaller one, as a rest for his weight.
“Kurt, knock out of it,” says the woman looking at the first shelve to the last one. The highest one, to high for Kitty to reach but easy enough for Kurt.
“Katzchen, I´m just looking for a book,” says too innocent to be Kurt Darkholme.
“I get it, you´re tall, congratulations, Kurt”
“No idea, what are you talking about” With this, Kitty decides to play dirty, turning to his chest as the blue man(never an elf) is enjoying the torture, Kitty open her arms and make his chest her own pillow.
“Hey?”
“Shut up, pillows don´t talk,” says petulantly and closes her eyes until his tail poke her head and Kurt´s hand has the book Kitty was looking all day.
“Hey, you found it? Thanks” then the realization hits her “son of a bitch, you stole the book and hide away?”
“I didn´t hide away, it was right here all along, in the highest shelve, not my fault you are so short”
“Fuck you, Kurt,” says still using his chest as a pillow the tall man just chuckles and says something in German that Kitty is sure means (if you want) “you´re warm and a dick”
“And you are adorable and short”
Kurt Darkholme: Is a stoic man that rarely likes to show emotion, especially in missions, however, whatever Kurt likes or not, every human being shows emotions.
And one thing that makes all his barrier break down, at least a little, is Kitty Pryde doing anything(no matter what, if the woman is hurt, laughing, sulking or just playing with her Lockheed it always spread feelings that Kurt thought was beaten forever)
Right now, Kitty is in a crown of tall people trying to see who is giving the speech of the week, they may be new to this dimension but it works more or less like their old dimension, one guest always appear to give a motivational speech.
Everyone is deadly quite listening with utter respect the said guest talking, Kurt is paying attention to his Kitty trying to see who it is.
ok, this is cute, she looks like a small kitten, wait, she is one.
The struggle is real but discrete as no one next to her, except Kurt Darkholme, realize the herculean fight Kitty is doing.
Damn, she is too cute.
Then wanting to stop the said fight, Kurt lift Kitty up effortless noticing some jealousy eyes are on them now(either for Kitty or Kurt, it is futile at this point). The gesture is similar to that famous scene of Lion King when Simba was lifted so all the animals can see it.
His hands are not copping a feel, no, he can do this later when they are alone(contradicting his own looks, Kurt is not into kinky stuff despite being half demon)
“Oh, I don´t know him,” says Kitty used to this, she is used to many things Kurt Darkholme does(to be fair, he is used to many of her quirks too)
“Is Banshee, I think”
“Oh, he looks different in our dimension”
“ They all do”
“You can put me down now, Kurt, my curiosity was satiated”
“As you wish”

Note
I'm gonna send a lot :) :DC, Marvel, Borderlands, Gayperion, Carol Danvers
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my (DC):
Favorite character: i have a lot of characters i really love in dc but no one really jumps out as my top favorite above all others…. i’m going to say selina because i love her in a lot of media and i picked up the current batman comic to read about her specifically (and then dropped them when she left lol, i’l have to pick up her solo series sometime too)
Least Favorite character: hmmm………..i don’t know……….can i say jervis from gotham specifically? he makes my skin crawl in a very bad way and i kinda want to punch him in the face. although he also has his charming moments and i think his power-set makes for a very interesting villain hmmm. OH can i say all the various Big and Boring Cosmic Villains like Steppenwolf??? they all blur together and i just don’t care about any of them
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): selina/bruce, harley/pamela, oswald/ed, raven/beast boy, diana/steve
Character I find most attractive: diana aka wonder woman aka have my heart
Character I would marry: as much as i want to say diana, i feel like i would constantly be overwhelmed with awe around her so maybe that’s not a good idea………. can i marry bruce for his money?
Character I would be best friends with: if she wasn’t evil, pamela, she could be one of my fellow grad students (y’know, in another life). i would hang with steph too, she’s cool
A random thought: dc was my first superhero love, teen titans specifically, and that show probably laid the groundwork for what i want in my superhero teams. also i should get back to reading dc comics
An unpopular opinion: i don’t think this is unpopular exactly but the joker is overused, there are so many other good batman villains
My canon OTP: bruce/selina (GIVE ME THEIR WEDDING YOU COWARDS)
Non-canon OTP: harley/pamela except it’s canon in some verses if i remember correctly sooooooooooooooooo :)
Most badass character: i want to say diana……..and i can’t think of anyone more badass so
Pairing I am not a fan of: clark/diana is just Bad, what were they thinking?
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): it’s comics, who hasn’t been screwed up by a writer at some point? ok but jokes aside, no one specific is coming to mind right now
Favourite friendship: i love all the batfam so *points at all of them*
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my (Marvel):
Favorite character: i don’t know how you could possibly expect me to choose a single character when there are so many………….. carol at the moment, kamala and mj and peter (parker, not quill) in general are at the top of the list too
Least Favorite character: ……………….there’s probably someone i hate…… but no one is coming to mind…… i guess thanos? i can’t believe he got a solo series
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): the spidey ot4 (peter/harry/gwen/mj), steve/tony, carol/jessica, carol/maria, clint/natasha
Character I find most attractive: ooooooooo, a good question. i think i’ll go with carol because brie larson is
Character I would marry: if it had to be a superhero, janet. if not, gwen and we would run away together and never get involved with the angst of superheroes
Character I would be best friends with: maybe cindy moon (she likes pokemon! and is just a lovely person!) or gwen
A random thought: in the avengers tower that absolutely exists and that they all live in (at least part of the time), tony builds additional rooms for all the new members. he puts glowing stars up in carol’s room and calls her space-face and laughs when she chooses star wars for movie night because of course that’s what you pick, danvers
An unpopular opinion: spider-man h*mecoming is bad and it isn’t a comics-accurate adaptation of spider-man, let alone the most accurate
My canon OTP: any of the canon ships within the ot4 - but if i had to choose just one, it’d be peter/mj. all the good comics history
Non-canon OTP: THE SPIDEY OT4, MY ULTIMATE MARVEL SHIP
Most badass character: CAROL ‘SORRY I’M A BADASS’ DANVERS
Pairing I am not a fan of: sp*deypool is the ultimate notp. i don’t get why it has such a massive following
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): see my above point about comics (though the other thing about comics is that once there’s a switch in writers, it often resolves itself). currently, i feel this way about peter (although i’m behind so maybe spencer’s undid all the slott nonsense) + eddie and the symbiote (not so much their individual characters but the relationship between them)
Favourite friendship: steve and carol and tony currrently
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my (Borderlands):
Favorite character: lilith or fiona
Least Favorite character: i love them all but salvador is….. well i just don’t have as much of a connection to him (sorry sal)
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): lilith/roland, brick/mordecai, fiona/rhys, rhys/vaughn, athena/janey
Character I find most attractive: lilith. also amara who may outcompete lilith, we shall see
Character I would marry: would i marry any of them?? (the answer is no but i guess if i had to, maybe janey? at the very least, she could repair any problems in our house)
Character I would be best friends with: janey possibly
A random thought: each set of vault hunters is a weird dysfunctional family and nothing can convince me otherwise (i will be sorely disappointed if the bl2 gang aren’t close in bl3)
An unpopular opinion: there’s more to borderlands than handsome jack and i wish fandom would focus on some of the other characters more
My canon OTP: lilith/roland or athena/janey
Non-canon OTP: rhys/vaughn just edges out fiona/rhys
Most badass character: zer0
Pairing I am not a fan of: rhys/handsome jack
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): no one really except where they killed roland and it was sad
Favourite friendship: i love timothy and athena as friends
002 | send me a ship and I will tell you (gayperion):
when or if I started shipping it: i think it was sometime during episode 1???? i can’t remember a specific moment, it just kinda happened
my thoughts: they’re very good and it would be even more amazing for them to date now. can you imagine the ceo of atlas with the scruffy leader of a bandit gang (who also happens to be a math nerd)? SO GOOD
What makes me happy about them: they’re best friends, they have a lot of stupid jokes between them, they very clearly would go to the end of the earth for each other
What makes me sad about them: the fear that they may never interact in bl3
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: there isn’t enough fic for me to have noticed any annoying tropes
Things I look for in fanfic: any fic in general
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: rhys/fiona
My happily ever after for them: they haven’t spoken for a while but vaughn comes along on sanctuary (idk how he ends up there, maybe he’s upset with his bandits leaving for the children of the vault) and then he hears rhys’ voice over the comm for the first time in YEARS, he could cry, he’s so happy. anyway us vault hunters help rhys out with his maliwan problem, vaughn and rhys reunite, there are tears and hugs and then they kiss and have to figure out what they want (hint: they want to be together forever but rhys has a company and vaughn has his bandits and they need to navigate that complexity - but they do and it’s awesome)
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you (carol danvers):
How I feel about this character: if you told me last year that i would fall in love with carol, and read everything i could with her, i probably would not have believed you. but here i am, almost caught up with the captain marvel comics and helplessly in love with her. i love her bravery, her humor, her impulsiveness, her kindness, her fight-me attitude, her determination, her cockiness - really i love everything about her and i’m inspired by her drive to be better and to protect as many people as she can (also the whole speech but especially this quote at the end of captain marvel (2012) #1: and we will be the stars we were always meant to be GETS me every time i see it, i love ambitious ladies who reach for the stars)
All the people I ship romantically with this character: carol/jess is the ultimate 616 otp while carol/maria is the ultimate mcu otp. i also like carol/rhodey and i read a ship manifesto for carol/wanda that has made me interested in learning more about them
My non-romantic OTP for this character: steve and tony, i can’t choose between her two relationships with them because they’re both so good (it might be tony??? he helped her through aa and i love their snark? but then steve and carol are also very good). also in the mcu, nick fury, their chemistry is GOLD
My unpopular opinion about this character: i hate that so many people have started putting carol into the role of peter’s mom/aunt, not every adult that interacts with him is automatically his parental figure and she has no real reason to feel that way towards him. also they went on a couple dates in the comics and even though i don’t ship it, it’s weird to think about
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: LET HER DATE A WOMAN
My OTP: …………how could i possibly choose between carol/jess and carol/maria………….they’re both so good in different ways
My OT3: i don’t have one for her although now i’m considering whether a jess/carol/maria situation would work idk i feel like it wouldn’t just because there would be this imbalance in two of them having superpowers and maria unable to join in their superhero battles so??? idk. i need to think about it a little more

Silk’s Last Issue
Well first of all, I'm kind of shocked that I didn't know Silk was ending until I was actually reading the last issue. The internet usually manages to spoil me on those kinds of things.
Silk #1 (Feb 2015) was the first Marvel comic I ever bought in my entire life. I'm now reading six (er...five since this one's over) different Marvel titles and some selected crossovers/appearances. I probably would've found my way to Ms. Marvel even if I'd never started Silk, but it was easier to talk myself into reading two Marvel comics since I was already reading one.
I remember seeing a post on Tumblr about this new book called Silk that was coming out and I thought, "Well, I like the MCU. I liked the 90's cartoon and those Toby Maguire movies. I'm always down for cool female heroes. I'll pick it up and see if I like it." I was immediately enamored and only grew to love the character more as her story unfolded.
On the strength of her first five issues, I bought Spider-Verse (and Edge of the Spider-Verse...and that one issue of Spider-Man 2099 that didn't make it into either of those collections.) I don't know who thought organizing that Spider-Verse release like that was a good idea, but I hope they got yelled at by someone with a strong J. Jonah Jameson type of voice. Regardless of its chaotic organization, I did find the Spider-Verse event to be quite enjoyable, though not especially strong for Silk. Eventually I picked up the Amazing Spider-Man TPB that featured Cindy's first appearance, just for the sake of having her whole story.
As Silk went on, I bought every issue in both floppy and trade paperback. I bought the Spider(Fly) Effect (floppy and TPB.) I bought the Spider-Women crossover (floppy and TPB.) Now I can't help but wonder if I could have done more.
After David Gabriel's recent harsh remarks on the subject of inclusivity, I impulse-purchased all of the Ms. Marvel back issues that my local comic shop had and decided to host a giveaway on my blog. I find myself wishing I had done the same for Silk. The somewhat rushed feeling of Silk's final issue leads one to speculate. I hear tell that Silk performs pretty well and there are rumors that she may even get some kind of cameo in the new Spider-Man movie. I don't know what else the executives wanted, but I'm truly sorry that the Silkworms* weren't good enough for them.
*That's my name for the fanbase, though I don't think anyone else is using it. Marshmallows, Browncoats, Creampuffs, Silkworms. You follow? I'm happy to label myself as all four.
A heroine with anxiety issues, who befriends lesbians, uses a flip phone, and most of her interests are at least ten years out of date? You'd be hard-pressed to create a character that's more relatable to me. It was when the anxiety started to come up that I knew I would follow Cindy Moon until the end, even if I didn't realize how short of a commitment that was going to be. I'll always be grateful to her (and Robbie Thompson) for representing something that so many of us have to live with.
Will Silk (616) be carrying on at all? A new book? Appearances with S.H.I.E.L.D.? Back to Amazing Spider-Man? Can she join the Champions? Can the Protectors get an ongoing series? Or will Cindy just fade into the background for a few years until someone is ready to try again?
I was excited about Silk from the moment I heard about her. I'm always gonna be happy that I saw that Tumblr post and decided to give her a chance.
