Are you still going to post Replica updates on your Tumblr even after getting a Patreon?

YES! Do not worry. I will still be posting the main Replica story on here (the only things on my Patreon are early WIPs and little short stories that aren't integral to the main plot). So you will not be missing anything from the actual main story of Replica.

Sorry the latest update is just taking a long time because it's a loooooong update (20+ pages) and I am doing it while juggling work, holidays, birthdays, my trip, and three zines that I'm working on! After this update it will be back to much shorter, faster update schedule (I'm so excited to get back to a regular schedule).

As a treat, I will include a slightly spoilery sneak-peek under the cut below. I can't share too many frames sadly because most of them are uh... very big spoilers. This next update is going to be a DOOZY!

'Hazelfur is quite cold and unfeeling when cats grow up.' Could you elaborate on that? :o If you don't mind, I just find Hazelfur and his seemingly disparate personality very intriguing! Does he just find younger cats more agreeable? Is it something else? At what point does this change in attitude occur? (That is, how is he with new claws/'teenage' aged cats)

Hazelfur's warmness around younger cats is still not much different than his normal attitude. He is still strict and no-nonsense, but the best way to tell the difference is his tone. He has the mindset that kittens are innocent. They represent the future. They have limitless potential. Even if they are troublemakers, they don't do it with malice, they simply don't know better. They listen and admire the adults around them and depend on them for protection and guidance. So even Hazelfur's softer side is motivated by a sense of control.

But once they grow up (where they don't need strict protection, can talk back, and start making their own choices) that's where Hazelfur's mind switches from his old Keeper days and into Captain mode. Now they are "old enough to know better", "foolish", "could be doing more", and "not living up to their potential".

I'm glad you find them intriguing! My biggest wish is for Hazelfur and Forestleaf to leave people with a weird feeling. Like a family member you kind of loathe-for good reason-but also can't help but have a strange admiration, or maybe begrudging understanding, for.

Hello, Blueteller-nim! I want to ask, do you have some small moment that you just loved? Like, a really short scene, that probably only explained within few sentences.

I have two! Both within the same arc that is Mogoru Empire vs Whipper Kingdom!

First, the first (and probably last) time, our brash and loud Cheapskate said "Please".

And second, is when the Black Despair, inside the Golem, gathered around Cale's warmth. Truly, what a holy scene. A being that console a cold and lonely things.

Hello, Konahana! You picked some really great, cinematic moments! As for myself, there are so, SO many things I love in TCF. Scenes of action, comedy, drama... but what really gets to me the most, are small, casual interactions between characters that mean so, so much.

Like this one, for instance, in chapter 201.

It's funny, touching, and heartbreaking at once! Like, there are so many layers here!

Or this scene, from chapter 339.

Just picturing this scene makes me emotional.

I saw that said you dont tend to draw gore now that you are in the ava/m fandom, and I got this idea... I don't think the author has Tumblr, but there is this fanfic on ao3 called Taste of Beauty, and both the lore and gore are pretty intense... Do you see where I'm getting at? 👀

Hi! This is a weirdly specific message but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own, so I thought I'd ask: how did you get the B&B catalogue icons for your set previews (seen in this image here)?

Hey! I use @ravasheencc's Crop It Like It's Hot Backdrops. These are objects which you can put on the wall and the floor and you get a "photo studio" without shadows and clear white background. I place my objects in front of it and make screenshots. I also use Gshade so the coloring looks better.

Knitting question: what project do you regret completing? Like, the one that should have frogged?

The fucking neon blanket.

I can't find a picture of it but I want you to imagine hubris given physical form. This blanket, this fucking blanket was knitted by holding SEVEN strands of yarn together on size 32 needles. I knit it from the inside out and only stopped when I was out of yarn. It was massive. Too massive. It worked as a weighted blanket but it was so hard to actually pick up and move around. I never weighed it but it was just. Too much blanket. Washing it was almost impossible. I had to drag it to a Laundromat to find a washer big enough only to discover that when it was wet IT WAS TOO HEAVY TO PICK UP i literally had to drag it over to the dryers this defeating the purpose of cleaning it

In the end I donated it to a thrift store because I couldn't picture dragging that stupid blanket around for the rest of my life.

You can translate it, yes! It’s just a font so it’s technically still English.

The font name is called Squiznor I believe?? I just downloaded a whole bunch of alien language fonts and picked the one I liked best.

So I know that in the new lore, when cats get their full ranger name the second part of the name can be put in the front or the back. Shadow became Spottedshadow, and I’m pretty sure Shell became Hawkshell, any other cats in particular?

Sure! To name a few:

Fire was named Lilyfire. She actually chose her own name and asked Captain Hazelfur for it specifically. Which surprised many because getting a chosen name approved by Hazelfur is a bit of an uphill battle, and Fire typically doesn't do anything to rock the boat.

Stripe became Jaggedstripe

Snow into Mistysnow

Pebble to Smallpebble

Flower into Blueflower

Mask into Halfmask

and so on. There will be more examples as we move forward in the story! For example, here is the smallest of spoilers:
