I just know he'd be the first one to wake up, wanting to take the time to savor your sleeping expression. He'd fawn over you, admiring your figure as the rising sun begins to shed its warm rays onto your skin. He'd then smile since it would be reminiscent of how you enveloped each other in warmth the night prior, embracing one another closely as you two made love.

Honestly, he might not even have gotten much sleep at all. He'd have spent the rest of the night caressing you gently, trying to lull you to sleep, ever so softly humming a lovely tune so that you might have good dreams

On the other hand, he wouldn't have needed to sleep to have good dreams. He was already experiencing them, especially after that magical night you two became one, he would be replaying all of those events in his mind over and over again.

But as the sun was rising, he knew that it would soon be time to get up and start the day. Though, he really wouldn't want to at all. He'd wish he could stop time and lay in bed here with you forever because as long as he had you, he no longer felt so alone. He didn't need anyone else. You are his safe place. You are his home.

With that notion, he'd become so protective of you. Wrapping his arms around your waist, he'll hug you and curl himself up around your body, like a dragon protecting his treasure (which is you).

He would feel so happy and safe at that moment, knowing you two were together, so intimate, so close. It was a joy he'd never felt before, and he'd hope that he could feel this way with you every morning. He'd nuzzle his face into your neck at the thought.

All of this, in turn, would wake you up, suddenly feeling so much physical contact over your body. Noticing you had awakened, Malleus' eyes would soften with tenderness as you faced him, and they met with yours.

"Good morning, my love," he'd whisper with a sweet smile. "How are you feeling?" he'd ask, bringing his hand down to rub circles on your hip. He remembers how intensely he had given all his love to you the night before and hopes that it didn't cause too much of a consequence this morning.

After greeting him back and reassuring him that everything was okay, though your hips really would feel a little sore, he'd sigh with relief. "I'm glad. Forgive me if I was too rough," he'd cup your cheek with his other hand and gently press his lips onto yours. "I simply couldn't... hold myself back", he breathed out with a slight, sultry tone as he recalled the night once again.

Indeed, he couldn't. It had been the first night you two had gotten to one of the highest levels of intimacy, that he couldn't resist giving the entirety of himself in those moments.

And how could he not? Especially with the way you looked at him so lovingly, held him so closely, squeezed him so tightly, and called out for him numerous times that night, it was only right that he reciprocated your fervor and the intense love you were giving. It was the same way he felt for you, after all.

Just thinking of it was making him feel much hotter than he already was, and you'd feel the peak of that warmth pressing up against you.

This would earn a small blush from him but a big smile from you, as you would ask him if he'd like for you to take care of it.

And so you two would go on to take care of each other that morning, the first of many mornings such as this ;)

when i tell y'all i am Foaming At The Mouth over this. Like, it obviously guts me to see Stede crying, but it makes me SO intrigued to know what made him come to the more stark realization, what made him flip from optimistic and bitchy to more somber and pained.

There SEEMS to be some sort of shift sometime around when he sees Ed's wanted poster, because there's that shot of him looking melancholic in the rain. But it doesn't quite seem as stark as THIS.

It makes me wonder if it's a gradual assembly of puzzle pieces, ie finding out about the marooning, then Lucius, then Ed's scourge across the Caribbean, etc etc. And it slooooowly dawns on him that his decision to leave in order to keep Ed happy ended up doing EXACTLY the opposite.

OR, I wonder if this is following the reunion—a PAINFUL one at that. Like, maybe he still was going into it a bit idyllic, and was holding onto the hope that it would still be alright...only for Ed to react poorly/in a way he never anticipated to see. He went into it maybe with a bit of anxiety, but ultimately leaned on the denial...only to have all the fears confirmed.

Or maybe it's a mixture of both. But either way, it's SO so interesting to see him have to SIT with it all. And even though it hurts to see HIM hurt, I'm actually very glad they addressed this and made him feel the heavier weight.

But that also has me like 👁️👁️ for SO many different reasons. How did he lose a good portion of his leg? Was Stede the one to offer up the unicorn leg as a pegleg?

And TRULY, WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH HIM AND STEDE ANYWAY HSDKJLS LIKE I STILL CAN'T EVEN WRAP MY MIND FULLY AROUND THAT ONE,,,

My running theory is still that like...Izzy wanted a very specific version of Blackbeard. Izzy wanted someone who no longer exists, or maybe never existed to begin with. And so Izzy thought he was doing right by taking Stede out of the picture and nudging Ed back into a more viscous type of pirating...

Only for that to COMPLETELY backfire, and for Ed to get far more unstable. And like, something something Izzy was already complaining about Ed's "erratic moods" and "questionable decisions" BEFORE Stede came into the picture, so I doubt he's going to be content with Ed's turmoil and all the impulsivity that'll likely come with it.

So maybe, MAYBE, I'm thinking he'll have a bit of growth by realizing that Ed and Stede need each other, or maybe that Ed was way happier when things were smoother between him and Stede, at least. And knowing him and his characterization lol, it might not even be a selfless realization/decision. Maybe he'll only be doing it because he wants a less emotional version of Ed, and thinks that having Stede around and being cordial with him will allow that to happen.

And maybe it leads to even MORE growth when he gets roped into training Stede/the crew idk.

Regardless, REGARDLESS, they are one of the last pairs I ever expected to team up, because they were ACTIVELY bitching at each other all through last season HSDJKS.

They're BOTH trying to figure themselves out and what they're comfortable with and who they want to be. And I hope that, IF this is his look, it's something that HE wants entirely.

So, we've seen that shot of someone falling into the water like 80 million times at this point. And this trailer ALSO showed an additional shot of said person SINKING into the gloom. At least, I THINK it was the same person/connected. Again, could be a total misdirect lol.

And then we've seen all the blue-tinted shots of Ed off on his own somewhere, fight someone/something all the while being accompanied by some unknown figure.

And BECAUSE of the tinting/consistent lighting, and BECAUSE of the figure accompanying him, I have to also wonder like others similarly are...

Is this a DREAM???

Is this some sort of unconscious sequence where Ed works through trauma/hurt/demons? Is that person with him the ghost of Hornigold or another significant figure from his past? And does said sequence end with him jumping from the cliff and allowing the Kraken to disappear back to the gloom???

But something that makes that whole theory SUS is the shots we've gotten of someone, presumably Ed, coming up out of the ocean. And it's not tinted blue like all of these other shots are.

So it's just hsdjkhsdjksdhskjdhsjksfs??????

Regardless, REGARDLESS, I think all of this points to Ed going on some sort of journey, some sort of bout of self-discovery and self-acceptance. I think he's going to heal parts of himself, or at least SETTLE with parts of himself, no matter the circumstances. And that would be so good because I want that so badly for him. I want him to be able to do that for himself.

I find in public, he's not a huge touchy guy. But when you're home alone? Completely different story. He loves holding you tight and letting you know he'll never let you go. He hates how cheesy it sounds, but he'll only ever say it to you, so it's okay.

He's a big spoon, all the way. He doesn't like being little spoon, mainly because he's so tall and lanky. He finds it awkward. I already said he hates being little spoon and you definitely have to convince him big time to be little spoon, but I figured I'd clarify it here again.

If you DO manage to get him in little spoon position, he's such a fucking sucker for it. He loves being held by you, but he would never, ever tell you that. He loves nuzzling his entire body into you, his back cradling into your chest and thighs. He loves being warm, especially with you.

When you guys are face to face cuddling, his face is always either above your head, or in your neck. Most of the time though, it's above your head so that he can press kisses on your hairline/your forehead. Or on the contrary, when he's nuzzled in your neck, he's whispering sweet nothings to you or kissing your neck super softly, trying to put you to sleep or calm you down after a long day.

I like to think he gets really sweaty easily. Granted, yes, it's something really gross about him. But you do get more blankets to yourself! However, Blake will literally wake up in a pile of his own sweat. The sheets have to be washed a lot.

"Blake, baby, why do you sweat so much?" "I don't fuckin' know! Ask my doctor. He probably knows." You two have definitely had little arguments over this. At the end of the day though, you know it's something he can't control. You just suck it up and keep washing the sheets as many times as you have to.

If you two have an argument, he makes it up to you by cuddling you tight, holding you close and kissing the back of your neck til you fall asleep. Whenever he knows you're asleep, "I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to make you mad." He also buys a small bouquet of roses for you to make it up.

“Psst.” Preston knocked softly at Sole’s bedroom door. "Uh, you're in there, right, babe?"

His heart was in his throat, after all that had happened, all that they’d told him when they returned from the Institute. Preston just remembered being beyond grateful that they’d come back to him at all, that they were alive and safe, and he’d told them just as much. 

But they... they hadn’t agreed with him, and damn, but that killed him. 

“Sole?” Preston tried again, his voice still weak from disuse. 

All the patrols over the past two days, that’s… all he’d done. Even Sturges hadn’t heard his voice. No meetings, no missions, no small talk with settlers, barely any contact with anyone at all. No… All Preston had room for right now was the worry in his heart for his partner. His general, his love, god, his life now… and they were hurting, beyond anything they’d ever shown on the surface before, and instead of craving his help, falling into his arms or crying on his shoulder, they’d just… shut him out.

Was that… normal? Was it okay? Should he press them in order to help, or give them space and let them come to him? 

Preston had always, always come to Sole in his times of uncertainty, of desperation and depression, seeking words and touches of comfort, their advice, their warmth. 

If Sole didn’t do the same, well… What was he supposed to make of that? Was he doing something wrong, or was it just the way that his partner chose to cope with their own hardships and emotions? On their own… it was hard for the minuteman to stomach it. 

“Come in.” 

The monotone words jarred Preston back to reality, and he damn near charged into the room at the sound of their permission being granted to him. 

“Hey, Sole.” His voice was softer, higher-pitched than usual, like if he spoke any other way it would just break them into pieces. “I… just wanted to make sure you were okay.” 

Preston closed the door behind him, and approached slowly, then kneeled beside his partner where they were seated on their bed. 

Sole looked… well enough, he supposed. Perhaps a bit disheveled, with the dark circles under their eyes and their hair unusually gnarled, but Preston tried to bar himself from becoming too outwardly worried about them. Still though, he wasn’t quite sure how to approach… Or what to say.

Tell me how to help you, love, and I'll do it.

“Okay?” Sole croaked, and already, he felt ashamed at his wording. 

Of course they’re not okay, not after everything they’ve been through. How could I have--? Ugh…

Preston grimaced at their reaction. 

They must be better at this than I am. 

No wonder they preferred being alone to this.

“Not really."

He was relieved when they continued, until what they'd actually said hit him.

"But… I think I’ll make it...”

Preston felt a painful pang ring throughout his chest at their words. Though they held hope to them, Sole's voice didn't quite reflect it.

“Look, Preston…” 

He held his breath, hearing his own heart pounding in his ears as they trailed off forebodingly. 

“I’m sorry.” Sole said with a deep exhale. “I know I’ve been shutting you out, and maybe… I know it’s not fair to you, that you want to help, but… I just don’t know if that’s even possible.”

Another agonizing ache squeezed at his heart, and Preston tentatively rose to sit upon the bed next to his partner. Sole made no move to stop him, and so he set his hand over theirs on the mattress, his warmth passing into their own cold hand through his caress. 

“Well, with your permission, sir/ma'am, I’d like to try.” 

Sole’s vibrant eyes, now seeming more monochrome, more dull than he’d ever remembered seeing them before, set upon him as their brows raised in question. 

“Even if it’s impossible, like you said... you’re worth trying. More than worth it, actually.” Preston tried to smile at them, but he was afraid his worry continued to show through. No matter what expression he tried though, he was certain that’d be the case. 

“Thanks.” Sole whispered it so low, it could hardly be deemed a breath. But still, Preston heard it. 

“C-can I… Can I hug you?” He asked, even as he unwittingly scooched closer to them on the bed. 

“I think I’d like that.” Sole said, the barest, thinnest hint of a smile shining through their expression as they half-heartedly opened their arms to him.

It was incredible, Preston couldn’t help but think, the way their hugs healed him. The way Sole’s touches bled comfort straight into his body, their hand in his felt like a bond strong enough to hold the two halves of the world together, his head on their shoulder made it seem like he could withstand just about anything, like this world of theirs' was… manageable, even with all of its faults, its violence, its tragedy. 

He wished the feeling could last him-- them both-- forever.

And Preston hoped that even half of what Sole's comfort did for him was shining through in this one tight embrace. If it did, then maybe, just maybe, it truly was possible for his partner to be okay again.

It's been a few days since my last update. I've been reading a lot, just wanted to make one comprehensive post instead of many small ones. Things have been heating up, but nothing's been going on at the same time. I don't really mind. I love slow paced books that take their time to unfold, and I'm really enjoying Harrow. Through and through!

So! Notes on this part:

I'm not sure whether or not the bond between Harrow and Ianthe is growing into something a little more than platonic, but I do like how they're such a weird and awkward pair. I love how Harrow needed to stay with Ianthe and she "took care of her". I love how they slept on the same bed, miles apart. I love how Harrow feels uncomfortable with all of it, but she still craves it.

There's so so much to Harrow's character that I love, mostly because it is very validating of my own anxieties.

Not gonna lie, that relationship between Ianthe and Augustine smells fishy to me. Feels yucky.

we talk everyday still even though we live all over the world and we talk about nearly everything except fandom nowadays and they've helped me survive living day to day through some of the worst moments of my life. i don't know what i'd do if i didn't have them in my life

last night, i had a bit of a shame spiral thinking about all the time energy money i devoted to the 1d fandom. i felt embarrassed for being so loud about something that ended in so much disappointment. it wasn't fun and i know it was probably triggered by being involved in some discussions i hadn't been in so long

so when i opened this ask, anon, it reminded me so much that whatever was lost from that time, so much more was gained. the embarrassment of remembering dancing around like a fool with a rainbow flag for someone who couldn't even say something as simple as "look at all those colors" pales in comparison to the lifelong friendship i gained with these 8 beautiful women all across the globe

nothing will ever compare to the people i met and the way they feel closer to family than any of my blood ever felt

That being said, what do you think about the time when pictures of Jungkook hugging and going out with his female tattooist god leaked? V8 was when i first really joined the fandom/RG and it was rough. I was scared to admit I shipped it romantically for the longest time because of all the discourse/harassment and I know I am very much not alone in that feeling. For the longest time I was scared to even draw them kissing lest it incite something. But ffs I'm over it. This ship is cute as hell, has so much going for it in canon, and so much creative potential in fanon. I love analyzing their story and somehow still discovering old crumbs even after all this time. Not to mention all the new crumbs this volume has given us!! Feels more like a whole loaf of freshly baked bread than anything else!

Every single argument I've ever seen thrown against the ship in the last 2+ years has been made in bad faith, is a double standard not applied to other ships, or is easily debunkable. Some of the loudest RG antis have a terrible reputation even outside of our 'ship wars', and it actually become so easy to not notice or let it get to you when you block without remorse.

I can't really speak for tumblr as I've gotten not-so-good at interacting with people here recently and feel a bit disconnected from the community (aside from the stray asks/tags y'all send me which I always appreciate 💕). But I know on twitter we've had a handful of new artists and vocal shippers come out of the woodwork in light of the new volume that are flooding the tag with positivity, memes, and creations every day. I've seen multiple rival shippers admit that they have to 'prepare for when rg is canon' and they genuinely believe it. We've even got a few bigger RWBY youtubers standing up for us and shutting down that discourse when people try to stir the pot.

Also numbers aren't really indicative of anything on tumblr when reblogs are more scarce than ever, or on twitter where the algorithm is anyone's guess, but there are some rosegarden posts on this site from 2017 that hit over 4k notes. Some of my own rg pieces on other platforms breach 1-2k. Heck, even some of the metas that I have cross posted to twt have hit more than 600 likes.

There are so many rg shippers out there. And what I am seeing with v9 is a few things. First, any people joining the fandom anew that aren't aware of all the discourse fall into RG pretty easily without that bias being pushed on them.

And second, that when we are loud and we are enthusiastic and we are kind to each other... when we foster healthy and approachable community, that is how we tune out all the negativity, and that is when we have the most fun.

So i'm glad you appreciate all my yelling, and I am not trying to pressure anyone into speaking out or participating if they don't have it in them... but this is a very friendly reminder is always room for more of us out here 💕🌹🌲

And calling her "Bertie" stooop they're so cute 😭🥺🥰.

I'm happy Alberta got to have a romance with a guy :D. And the poltergeist ghost lore was really cool :O :D! Poor Saul is kind of going through it overall though xD. But hey, he gets to travel :D. It has its benefits and its drawbacks compared to a car ghost lol, but it seems pretty chilling :)). It's too bad him and Alberta didn't work out :(, but they were cute while they lasted :D. And poor Jay xD. Glad bro's finally free lol. Even if he had to, but didn't actually have to, hug Jean in the process lol.

Trevor, the bad influence 💀. Lowkey despising what he's caused, but hey at least he made sure they both had fun and also equal experiences lol xD. Nightmares 🐺

Ominis stirred and turned in his bed one evening, feeling movement and noise from Rowan, he had a look of slight confusion on his face, hearing Rowan aggressively growling and snarling as he began to thrash on the sheets, Ominis reached over touching him, though he was a little frightened.

Ominis: Rowan?!

Rowan suddenly burst into his werewolf form, not knowing for a moment where he was, his mind clouded by his night terror, he reached out and gripped Ominis's throat, letting out an aggressive deep growl, his fangs inches away from Ominis's face. He was suddenly brought back to consciousness, seeing what he was doing, and Ominis looking terrified.

Ominis: R-Rowan?...

Rowan: *turns back into his human form, looking horrified himself for a moment* Ominis..Oh god *let's go of his throat* I..Shit..I'm so sorry *sits up properly on the bed, looking at Ominis and strokes his hair*

Ominis touched his own neck, feeling the deep imprint of Rowans claws at the side.

Rowan: I'm so so sorry..I..Urgh!

Ominis: Shh shh shh, its OK.. Its not your fault..Did you have a nightmare or something?

Rowan: ....Yeah..Been a while...It was..My family.. my community.. The night they all died, it was like I was there again.. Reliving it...I'm sorry..
