Hi! I'm SO thrilled to see you post your Mormon!Klaine verse on AO3!! I've been following on Tumblr since forever, but knowing the posts are updated, it's like getting back together with an old friend after not seeing each other for a while. RL has been crazy these past couple of months but tomorrow morning, the husband and I fly to Europe for a three week vacation escape. I've downloaded the first 5 chapters of the verse to my phone, and look forward to happily reading them in flight. Thank you

My best flight ever to/from/through Europe was on KLM because they gave us spekulaas ice cream for dessert, but Lufthansa is a close second for just putting piles and piles of candy in the galley for people to grab whenever they wanted (though that was an extremely long flight, I think 12 or 16 hours?).

Anyway, I hope the fanfic can be a good substitute for spekulaas ice cream if you don't get any on your flight ♥️

Summary: It’s Summer 2020 and Covid-19 has changed everything. With Broadway shut down since March, Blaine and Kurt are back in Lima, Ohio, staying with Burt and Carole. On this day, they’re hanging out (and social distancing) with Sam and Tina. This is also the story of Angela and Marie, a couple who are going through a difficult time. Something is left behind that brings them all together. TW for suicidal ideation/suicidal thoughts (non-canon character), discussion of suicide, discussion of depression. It does have a hopeful ending!

A/N It seems appropriate to post this fic during National Suicide Prevention Week. Glee’s 2015 series finale, “Dreams Come True” (Season 6 Episode 13), fast forwards five years to 2020. In that episode. Kurt and Blaine have received acclaim for their LGBTQ+ version of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” at New York’s Lincoln Center. Tina and Artie live together in New York where Tina’s been acting in one of his indie films. Sam is the new choir director at McKinley High School. Rachel is the star of “Jane Austen Sings” and is pregnant as the surrogate mom for Kurt and Blaine’s baby. This video segment from the episode gives a great summary of what happens to them. I’ve taken Kurt, Blaine, Sam, Tina, and Rachel, and their careers, and moved them all to a Covid-19 universe.

My endless thanks to my amazing beta @flowerfan2 for helping me bring this fic to life. Her guidance and constant encouragement energized me to write my first fic in nearly two years. Please check the notes at the end of the fic for the backstory.

Chapter 1 Lunch Date

For the past five minutes, Blaine’s been trying to distract Kurt by making small circles with his fingers on Kurt’s thigh, but Kurt’s deliberately ignoring him, preferring instead to go deep with Tina about the latest episode of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Blane’s looking forward to some payback later tonight.

Blaine is glad that the weather has been nice enough to allow him and Kurt to get outside more often lately.  It’s been hard living in quarantine mode in Lima for months, but at least they’ve been together. Burt and Carole have been great. Burt even helped them convert the guest room into a workspace for their virtual performances and conferences with producers and agents.

Blaine sees his mom for occasional driveway visits, and he makes a point of going running with Sam, with plenty of space between them. Even Kurt has started to mellow out. In the beginning, he wouldn’t let Burt out of the house, not even to his repair shop.  But that has changed. Kurt lets him go in during the hours before the shop opens or after closing, and Burt stays in touch with his employees and customers by phone.

Now that Kurt’s agreed to eating outdoors at restaurants, it’s been even better. And here they are, at one end of a long picnic table with Sam and Tina at the other.

“This is perfect,” Blaine says with a satisfied sigh. “We’re outside, in the shade, with great company, and rocking the social distancing thing.”

It is! All the possibilities. And I love that Ryan specifically asked Darren what he wanted to do next because I think Darren has a lot of ideas as well. Putting those two minds together will result in a lot of magic for us.

Yeah, the prompt was weird. I saw the “Buy Now” but then caught that they were all “S: by default so I did the dropdown to the other sizes.

I did Level Three and I actually got an email with my player number (112) pretty quickly! Probably because it requires a selfie so they can do the 8-bit art, so they needed me to reply with that.

(I hope they actually ask Agnes to do the avatars...I mean I know she’s busy but they used her art for the other stuff I think it’s only fair. Plus I’d be turned into @sunshunes art!)

“I Saw the Signs” - post “The First Time” Hudmel family moment 

“I’m taking my coffee to my room,” Kurt announces, avoiding their glances as he leaves. He turns at the foot of the stairs and adds, “Thanks, Dad. And Finn, despite the, um… crude way that you said it, I – it’s nice to know. I do appreciate it.”

Finn shrugs. “It’s nothing, bro. I’m just not being a dick.”

Burt picks his newspaper back up, grinning at the picture of Blaine and Rachel staring into each other’s eyes. “Our protagonists, in love and on the verge of adulthood, are so convincing in their charming young romance that one might think they had real-life experience to draw from!”

That columnist has no idea.

"Heroes Never Die” - (part 1 of ?) Kurt and Blaine meet online, playing Overwatch

Blaine… Hmm. “Superhero by day, skilled healer by night?”

“That’s me,” Blaine laughs. The sound is wonderful. “Actually, I can play a lot of characters, if you want to stick with healer. Or I can. I’m versatile.”

What a refreshing change from his usual play group. Kurt likes it. Kurt likes him.

“We’ll see what kind of group we get. Ready?”

“Let’s save the world!” Blaine exclaims, pulling a chuckle from Kurt as he puts them in the queue for a game.

This ought to be interesting.

“Fly” - Blaine, Kurt, and the rest of the squad in a Disney Fairies AU

“Would you… accompany me back to my maple tree? S-so we can, um, let my team know the plan and start preparations, I mean.” Blaine looks down and shuts his eyes when he finishes talking, mentally berating himself for letting his courage falter when all he wants is to ask Kurt to go on a walk around the pond.

Kurt watches him for a moment with a little smile, putting something together in his head before he answers. “Of course. And then, when we’re done visiting my burrow to get my team on board, would you like to go for a walk through the rosebushes?”

Blaine’s nervous grimace becomes a thousand-firefly beam as he nods, wordlessly but ecstatically, and lets go of Kurt’s hand so that he can wrap up his designs.

Kurt reaches for him again, taking his hand without a second thought before they lift off for the animal fairies’ maple tree. “I just think I should hold onto you, Blaine,” he says, one eyebrow arched. “I’m not sure you can keep up.”

Blaine takes the cheeky challenge for what it is and holds on tight as they fly. “We’ll see about that.”

“Flustered” - lil early!Klaine ficlet set right after the “Blackbird” moment

“I’ll see you in the morning. Feel free to text me if you want.”

Blaine definitely wants. “Yeah. I’ll… see you.”

Kurt gives him a funny look, bemused by his awkward behavior, but he grins and waves the hand with the handkerchief in it as he leaves the room.

Blaine just stands there for a few more minutes, pressing his palms together in front of his face as the words for what he needs to express start to sort themselves out in his head.

He suddenly has a lot more to put on the council table than those silly blazers.

“That Can Only Mean One Thing” - sexy social media shenanigans on top of a “same age but manager/employee” relationship

Blaine’s eyes darken. “You know, I didn’t think you had any idea of the effect you have on people, but I was wrong, wasn’t I?”

“I think I’m starting to figure it out,” Kurt answers, setting down his glass and turning to give Blaine a good view of him walking away. Then he grins coyly over his shoulder and says, “I live closer to the venue than you do, so, meet me at my place? I’ll text you the address.”

Blaine just nods, sipping his wine with that same sultry look in his eyes as he watches him.

“Great. I’ll see you–OOF!” Kurt bangs into the glass door, once again not quite realizing how close it is and shattering his sudden confident fatale persona.

Blaine spits some of his wine back into his glass, laughing, and covers his mouth. He coughs a few times, but thankfully, choosing not to comment on it, lets Kurt walk away with a sweet, simple, “I can’t wait.”

I’ve been tagged by @perryavenue  , though I should point out, that I don’t write original fanfiction, but translate some of my favorite ones (with the author’s permission, of course) So here you have the last line I translated yesterday. It’s from my current project   All The Other Ghosts by Rainjoy / Chapter 11

Also sagt Blaine: "Ich liebe dich auch", küsst ihn noch einmal und begleitet ihn zur Tür, wo er einen letzten Kuss bekommt, Kurt ihm sanft mit dem Daumen über die Wange streichelt und ihm mit großen Augen einen letzten verwunderten Blick zuwirft, bevor er über den Flur davongeht – die dunkelgrauen Ghost-Stiefel verborgen unter Coopers viel zu langen, schwarzen Jeans, Blaines rotes Poloshirt von einer dunklen Strickjacke bedeckt, die Arme fest um seinen Oberkörper geschlungen, sieht er überhaupt nicht aus wie Kurt und gleichzeitig doch auch exakt wie er.

Elementary, My Dear Anderson

Chapter One

Hi! It feels good to rejoin the Klaine Fanfic Party after a two year absence! A Future!Klaine story idea that’s been buried since 2016 decided that it wanted to come out and celebrate Advent.  I hope you enjoy it!

Summary: Blaine and Kurt are thrilled to be visiting Lima over the Christmas holiday. They’re happy to take a break from their busy schedules; Blaine as a popular professor of music composition at NYU, Kurt as an actor who has just finished a successful run in the off-Broadway play Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Purloined Prize. But when an accident befalls Blaine, will visions of Dr. Watson dance in his head? This Klaine Advent 2018 holiday adventure is a continuous story that will post one or more times a week through December 24.

Day One: Snowman

Blaine shifted in his seat and turned to Kurt, who was next to him, eyes closed, listening to a playlist through his ear buds.  Blaine hesitated to disturb him, but he figured he had a good enough reason. He carefully removed the  ear bud closest to him.  

“Hey, husband,” he said softly. Kurt opened one eye and gave him a questioning look. “The plane’s going to land in less than an hour.  I thought I’d use the bathroom now, while it’s quiet. Let me out?”

Kurt stretched, took out the other ear bud, unbuckled his seat belt, and slowly stood up, moving sideways into the aisle. “I knew I should have taken the window seat.”

Blaine squeezed his arm affectionately as he passed in front of him, not at all minding when their bodies brushed together. “I’ll remind you next time.”

Burt was waiting when they landed in Columbus. The winter cold hit them the minute they stepped through the sliding doors onto the sidewalk. Kurt tightened the scarf around his neck. “God. It’s even colder here than in New York.”

Burt smiled. “See what happens when you stay away too long? You get nostalgic for winter in Ohio.”

Kurt grinned. “I don’t think that’s what I meant. But I am nostalgic about Christmas.”

Burt opened the trunk of his car so Kurt and Blaine could load their bags.  “We did what you told us,” he said to Kurt.  “Carole and I bought the tree, but held off on the decorating. We’re leaving that to you and Blaine.”

“Maybe ‘leaving that to you so you can give orders to Blaine’ is more accurate,” Blaine teased as he opened the rear passenger door and got inside.

Kurt, who took the front seat next to Burt, turned around and gave Blaine a mock glare. “Never orders, sweetie. Just suggestions.”

“Oh, is that what we’re calling it now?” said Burt as he pulled out of the parking space.

“Dad! You’re supposed to be on my side!!”

As they got closer to Lima, Kurt’s eyes were glued to the window, while he pointed out what was new and what had stayed the same since their last visit home. When they reached his old neighborhood, Kurt began to critique the outdoor holiday decorations that adorned many of the homes.  Inflatables seemed to be all the rage.

“I think that’s nice,” said Burt as they drove by a lawn with an inflatable snowman and three illuminated reindeer.  “Very traditional.”  Blaine was about to say something when Kurt spotted a front yard full of inflatable Minions.

“Oh my god. Please tell me what Kevin and Stuart have to do with Christmas!”

Blaine smiled. Kurt had no patience with design fails, whether it was clothing or home décor. “You didn’t seem to mind the Mickey and Minnie Mouse inflatables two blocks back.”

“Mickey and Minnie are iconic,” Kurt replied. “They transcend Christmas. I find inflatable Minions aesthetically offensive as holiday decorations.”

“Guess I’d better scratch my plans for a Minion holiday tableau for our apartment, then.”
