Hi everyone! It's @peonyblossom here with a super fun fall event, Choices Book Bingo (fall edition) :D

Rules

Check off a box by completing a Choices book that fits the prompt (current releases can count, as long as you're caught up on the book by the time the event ends, even if the book hasn't finished releasing)

Any book is fair game, but each book can only be used once

The event will run from September 1 - November 30

A Cozy Christmas

Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x M!MC Sydney Book: Open Heart Rating: General, all the fluffy fluf Word Count: ~400 Synopsis: Ethan, Sydney, and Caramel spent a cozy Christmas at home.

The magical morning had been a flurry of torn wrapping paper, joyous laughter, and shared moments of surprise as Ethan, Sydney, and Caramel reveled in their early morning exchange of gifts. The once pristine room was now littered with opened boxes, crumpled paper, and scattered ribbons and bows. What might have been chaos to some was a magical wonderland for one special cat.

While the men sipped on cups of steaming cocoa from the comfort of their couch, Caramel darted around the living room with wonder and glee. She pounced into each empty box, rustled the discarded paper, and swatted the loose bows across the floor playing a game entirely of her own.

Sydney chuckled, watching the cat leap from one box to another, searching like Goldilocks for the "just right" one. “Seems like Caramel found herself a new playground.”

"Caramel does seem to have found herself quite the adventure," Ethan leaned back, watching their cat.

Sydney took another slow sip, relishing the soothing warmth of the cocoa. “Who needs fancy cat toys when she’s having the time of her life with these boxes?”

"You do," Ethan insisted, his brow arching.

Sydney's gaze flickered to Ethan, innocence sparking in his eyes.

"You were quite adamant that we purchased a number of those 'fancy' Christmas toys," Ethan teased gently.

"Well, she deserves the best!" Sydney defended with a grin, trying to hold his ground.

Ethan's smile softened. "And yet, she’s chosen the boxes over everything else." He gestured toward the pile of untouched cat toys.

“Maybe on another day,” Sydney shrugged, “but right now, this feels purrrrfect."

Ethan grinned, unable to stifle a laugh. "I suppose it is."

As Caramel continued her playful antics, Ethan and Sydney found themselves drawn closer together, relaxing in one another's arms. Ethan’s hand found Sydney’s, fingers intertwining in a comforting embrace. 

“Merry Christmas, Ethan,” Sydney murmured, his voice filled with adoration.

“Merry Christmas, Sydney,” Ethan replied, a soft smile gracing his lips, one reserved solely for his husband.

As the afternoon drifted by, the trio savored the simple joy of being together. The discarded boxes became castles for Caramel as Ethan and Sydney tried to make their fur baby the best box fort ever. Laughter filled every corner of their home. When the excitement settled, Sydney found himself snuggled against Ethan on the couch, watching Caramel curl up in an empty box, content to enjoy their cozy Christmas together.

How do you want to be known on Tumblr? Peony, Jay, or Ethan

1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

I started playing Choices when it was first introduced after I saw the promos on HSS and HWU. Ofc the first book I played was High School Story!! 

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the Choices fandom because of Thomas Hunt LMAO. After playing the Thomas dates in HWU, I looked him up on Tumblr to see if there was any fan content, and there was (HUGE shoutout to @lovealexhunt and @gutsfics because their works were the first ones I saw). Through following a few Thomas Hunt fan accounts, I found some other stuff in the fandom, like CFWC, and decided to read some other really popular stories, and it just snowballed lol.

3- How did you pick your blog name? 

I wanted something that wasn’t fandom-specific so I could post content for any of the many fandoms I’m in. And peonies are my favorite flower! 

4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!  

The first first post in my archive is a reblog of a One Direction fanfic. My first original post was about the show Miraculous Ladybug. 

5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?

Ooh. A long time. Sixth or seventh grade, so nine or ten years? 

6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?

My favorite Choices book is America’s Most Eligible, but my favorite book to write about is Red Carpet Diaries/Hollywood U. I think I just like reading and writing about stories in the film industry since that’s what I do, lol. 

7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?

Waiting Game / peonyblossom / AO3

I still like it! But, if I were writing it today, I would probably make it third person instead of first. It’s still cute, though!

8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Okay, probably a tie between What If It’s Now? and Love Lost.

9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?

I think there are a few I thought would’ve gotten a little more attention when I first posted them, but by now, I don’t really think that anymore. 

10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

FLUFF. I mean, I pretty much only write fluff right now; I just love it so much! 

11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

Oh yeah. I think I see myself the most in my RCD/HWU MC, Jackie. In the HWU Universe, she’s a film student, like me, and in both universes, she’s an actor, like me! 

12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?

Finding the time to do it 🥲 Other than that, probably just get started. I tend to psych myself out, especially with bigger projects. 

13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

So. Many.

14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first? 

It depends on who it is, but I’d probably let them. As for what I’d recommend, it also depends on the person. Honestly, might just send them my AO3 and let them decide ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing? 

Probably more than I know! I’m sure there are plenty of authors who influence me subconsciously. But, I would say I tend to be influenced by classic novels like The Great Gatsby and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

Forever Sounds Perfect! I would love to just watch Ethan propose to Sydney 🥺

17- Do you write original fiction? 

Yeah! I mostly do screenwriting, but I also do fiction and poetry writing. 

18 -  What other hobbies do you have?

Hiking, reading, and yoga!

19 - What’s your favorite emoji?

I had so much fun getting to know your characters better this past week. I've been following the adventures of Ethan and Sadie, and more recently those of Ethan and Sydney too. Both pairings are just adorable!🥰 It was a fun trip down memory lane to read up on Thomas and Jackie. RCD was the first Choices book that I fell in love with. But don't judge me...I was team Matt.🤣

longer answer: yes especially after scenes like gaius forcing adrian to kill banner, the two of them killing the confederate soldiers, and adrian's bb:o chapter. their relationship is all about gaius grooming and molding adrian into his soldier, and gaius loves it when adrian is at his most violent "monstrous" moments. they totally used blood as lube because gaius got turned on by how violent adrian got and wanted adrian to top him and they didn't really have anything else. and i was the fly on their wall.

September MC & OCs of the Month - Special Edition: Sydney Valentine

Help us in welcoming September's MCs and OCs of the month! That's right, plural! Most months, CFWC highlights one randomly selected MC or OC from our Meet My MC / OC List. (More info here.) But this month, we're doing something different.

In August, @lilyoffandoms hosted a Writers Appreciation Month, and we announced the September Writer of the Month would be selected from its participants. But all participants agreed - Lily deserved the honor! Still, we wanted to do something nice for the eleven writers who elected to participate to help uplift other writers in the fandom. So, this month, each of the eleven participants will have one of their MCs or OCs highlighted.

In your own words, tell us what you like most about your MC. I genuinely cannot decide what I like most about Sydney LMAO. I just. love him. idk. 

Do you feel your MC is like you at all? How are you alike or different? I would say we’re more different than alike. Sydney loves winter/winter and snow related activities, and I just cannot handle the cold and the snow like that. He’s also more outspoken than I am. I can be outspoken when I need to be, but I like keeping to myself much more than Sydney does. Probably ’cause he’s a big extrovert, and I’m a huuuuuge introvert lol. As for things we have in common, we both like to fuck around with gender and gender expression, which is pretty cool. 

What is most important to your MC? What is their motivation in life? The most important thing to Sydney/their motivation in life is making the world (or as much of it as he can, anyway) a better and safer place for minorities, especially LGBTQIA+ people and Asian Americans, because he falls into both of those groups. As a bisexual, Korean demiboy, Sydney has dealt with some major bullshit throughout his life, and his spite motivates him. 

If your MC could change one thing - anything - what would it be? The American healthcare system

What is your MC’s favorite quote or song? Pretty Savage by BLACKPINK

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your MC? Sydney was one of the first, if not the first (I don’t really remember 😬) MC I shared in this fandom, and I love him with all my heart. I was a little nervous to be posting Ethan x m!MC because of the sheer amount of (very lovely) f!MCs in the OH fandom were a bit intimidating. I’m really glad I wrote for Sydney, though, because he is seriously such a fun character, and I love being able to contribute to the amount of Ethan x m!MC fics out there.  Dr. Sydney Valentine
