Don’t get me wrong, Ultear is probably one of the top most developed characters in Fairy Tail, and especially female characters she’s at number 1. For the short time she was in she had a large impact despite having a very minor role and deserved WAY more of a happy ending than probably most of the Oracion Seis or Grimoire Heart.From beginning as a villain, the one who manipulated Jellal into building the R-System (seriously guys, she couldn’t careless about Simon or Erza, that was all on dinglebrain), and one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, Ultear had a fairly lengthy involvement in the story.She was led by a misunderstanding and her only real goal was to use Zeref to help her regain the time she lost with her own mother. Her defeat against Gray opened her up to her mother’s warm…whom was the water, and since then she really turned her life around. The way she lived was in the present for the future. She kept her misdeeds to herself and desired no pity.

Every scene with her shows how much happier and free she felt, rather ‘allowed’ herself to be. She was detrimental Instrumental (as suggested by Richie XD)  in boosting Team Natsu’s Magic after the the time skip, helped stop Future Rogue, and even gave up her own life, not out of guilt, but because it was her means to ‘make up’ for the wrong she caused. But this is the thing, she still made an impact. If it wasn’t for her everyone would have been dead.

Even in Alvarez, she was more of a help than any other Guild. Any other character could be replaced with Xinsert character hereX but who else but her could stop time and help fend off Dimaria?Sadly she was quickly written off with not a big mention at the end. No hug with Meredy when she was pardoned. No reunion. Maybe she and Meredy did meet up, but’s obvious no one else gave a crap about one of the biggest influential characters. *shrugs*

If she does come back it’ll probably be a cameo of her being old with Meredy, or some ‘guidance’ that dingleberry would need. Or maybe Gray. It would be cool if Ultear found a way to reverse time to live out her days, considering she’s really only of the like…two characters who did anything beneficial and deserves it. If it wasn’t for Meredy they wouldn’t have been able to Fairy Sphere Acno-drago using Spirit Bomb dragonball “Gather your energy” type.So yeah. While I would love a focus on Meredy and Ultear in the 100 year’s Quest, I’m not holding my breath for it.
