Update About My Mom:

A very calm and patient girlfriend!

While she has a very strict face and way of speaking, she is usually very calm, caring, and straightforward.

Very loyal to you as long as you're kind to others and treat her with respect.

She does tend to be a little too serious at times, so she thrives when her partner respects her and tries to make her smile.

To be fair, she probably kept her distance from you when you told her that you liked her, or when you first started dating.

Relationships are totally new to her and what if she does something embarrassing?!

But if you can show that you’re pure in heart and willing to do good for the world, she gets flustered around you.

I think she can respect that you would have different beliefs and ideas than her, as God isn’t just one thing to her.

The library was relatively quiet. As it should be. The whispers of pages being flipped, or the hushed hums of students speaking to each other were the only noises that the pair could hear.

The back of the library brought a serenity that they both craved. Tucked away from the commotion from the rest of the giant room. A sea of bookshelves surrounded them as if they were in their little world.

A pair of iced-over blue eyes peered from the pages of a tattered red book. Only to return to the jungle of pages seconds later. Whatever was printed in the pages wasn’t his concern. Not when they sat so sweetly across to him.

Unlike the youngest Nightray, they were engulfed in the pages of a book. Enjoying whatever story that was spelled out before them. They looked so elegant…so peaceful. They were the perfect personal audience for the dust-coated book. They were the perfect spectacle for Elliot’s eyes.

“Ugh, they’re here.” A piss-poor whisper.

“Look, they’re reading again. That’s so lame.” A louder snicker.

Elliot would snap his eyes over at a group of students that were huddled behind a bookshelf, using gaps between the books to become the worst spies in human history. While they weren’t great spies, they were great pain in the asses. The group always tormented his crush. Spouting out whatever drama from their mouths to stir their emotions up. Normally, Elliot wouldn’t care. But he knew it hurt them.

He couldn’t count the times they shrank because of that group. How many times they would sulk down to take the group’s foul mouths. How many times have they allowed themselves to be treated worse than trash? What scum.

Even now, they couldn’t do anything but bury their face in their book.

“I’m sure Nightray only feels sorry for them. Even the dorky-looking one isn’t here.” One of the girls in charge snickered behind painted nails.

“I wouldn’t be caught dead with them. Elliot must be desperate for friends.”

His teeth gridded from the damn gossip they spewed out. How could a group be that cruel to someone so gentle? That was it. They needed to be taught a lesson. Even if words weren’t enough. Elliot pushed himself away from the wooden table and stomped towards them which made the group laugh more.

“Maybe if you spent more time in the library you’d learn to be quiet..or learn something in general.”

That didn’t come from the Nighray boy. It didn’t come from the absent ‘dorky’ one either. The group would peer at their victim who was peering from their book with a bored expression. They knew what they said. Though everyone else was shocked that they grew the guts to say it. A faulty poker face hiding behind the book they were reading.

“What did you say?!” The girl yelled, which caused other students to hush her. Giving her dirty looks for disrupting the serenity of the library. They were making quite the scene. Before the group could head towards them, a librarian cleared her voice asking if there was any problem. They would scoff and turn to leave the library.

He was dumbfounded. Months had gone by with Elliot trying to get them to say something to that group. To tell them off, only to be met with them protesting, saying that it was okay. The last thing he expected was his lover to retort against that group.

“I can’t believe I did that!” They hid their faces in their book as if they were trying to jump into the pages and disappear.

“That came off so mean! Maybe I should apologize!”

For once the beige-haired young man formed a smile on his face going back over back to their table. Before he sat down, his soft hand would pat their head to reassure them which made them turn red, and set the book down to look at his smile.

It was a good start.
