Gabriel x V2 short crackfic because:

V2 looked down at its side, sparks flying out of where its arm used to be. An entire arm gone because of its stupid predecessor.

A loud mechanical sigh came from it as V2 continued to travel, it would find another arm and win against V1 next time.

The sound of wings flapping scared him as an angel came down from the sky above.

“I see that machine has destroyed you-“ The angel spoke, yet V2 just stared at it.

“I want you”

“What?”

Then they started making out while V1 just stood there.

need to finish the brick and maybe watch more adaptations before i can make this a full on analysis but i think enjolras marius dynamic makes me think so much.

in the musical, when they first appear it’s together, having a sort of dialogue (exposition for the public — only lamarque cares for the people), then they have that discussion on red and black, and then marius decides he’s joining the barricade “my place is here, i fight with you” and he positions himself next to enjolras, sort of a comrade to enjolras.

then in the brick enjolras is the only person who remains in the room with marius after the “to be free” moment. and he isn’t there to mock him, he’s there to… explain things, to him. why they fight the way they do, puts a hand on his shoulder and tells him he’s the Son of the Republic. he’s there to share his ideology, in hopes perhaps marius will take it, perhaps change his mind.

then back to the musical, there’s so many ways different productions and actors portray them, even with all the same lyrics, sometimes it’s like a sort of “bromance” where enjolras is fascinated by marius and is dying to convince him, others it’s like he’s constantly annoyed by him, up until the moment where he tells him he’ll fight beside him.

i just think it’s so interesting, it’s a fascinating dynamic, really. enjolras is a great leader, marius is like a lost dog who ran into this strange group of people nearly by accident, and then he… is really, the only who remembers them. remembers what they fought for and how he should be dead with them, because he was willing to die beside him, convictions or no convictions.
